Nejam, deleted Photos are stored in Trash for up to 60 days, if you delete Photos again from trash, that's two times deletion.

Unfortunately, once Photos are deleted from trash there is no way to retrieve them back :(

Google user - When downloading the file, still getting the same Orig New Movie in mp4.

Tested reloading my S7, clearing my pc web cache, deleting and restoring back the video, archiving and unarchiving, changing date/ time info but still the same issue.

I understand and I know how important Google Photos is for you. Please give the below steps a try in a sequence to help resolve the issue:

Check your internet connection (mobile data).
Close the Google Photos app and re-launch it.
Sign out and sign back in to Google Photos with the same Google Account.
Clear App data:

Open your device's Settings app (not the Google Settings app).
Touch Apps.
Select Google Photos in the list.
Touch Clear data.

Update the Google Photos app on your Android phone:

Visit the Google Play Store.
Open Google Photos.
Touch on Update.

I have two folders, both are automatically named "Camera". One folder is on a memory card and another one is using mobile's storage.

Neither of the folders can be renamed.

Both folders are automatically set to Backup and Sync to Google Photos.

I want to remove photos from the Camera folder on the memory card while keeping those photos on Google Photos.

I wasn't able to do so as I am prevented from switching off Backup and Sync for this folder.

At the same time, the "Free up space" functionality is only working for the Camera folder on mobile's storage, but not for the Camera folder on the memory card.

Any recommendations, please?

You can go to the Library tab and open the SD Camera folder. Select the photos you want to delete and tap the 3 dot menu top right and choose the option to Delete from the device.

There is no "Google Photos" account. Photos is part of your Google account.
You can prevent or stop the uploading of new photos by turning "Backup and sync" OFF in the Google Photos app on your device.
You can delete the already uploaded photos/videos by selecting them in batches and moving them to trash. There is no "Delete all" option.

The timeline is the complete master list of your photos and any albums created are effectively a shortcut to those masters. So putting photos in a shared album will not hide them from the timeline. Comments will be confined to the album but nothing else,

Can you find the photos that contain the face of the person?

If yes, you can add a person through the following steps.

Tap to open the photo which contains unidentified faces & then slide up or tap the three dots

.
If the app had failed to include some faces in that picture, then you will see a prompt "XX faces available to add".

Tap the edit icon at the extreme right edge. (An icon of a pencil

That will show identified faces in square boxes & their thumbnails at the bottom.
Tap on the + sign on each thumbnail.
Then the app will show you all the identified faces till that time.
You can select the right one.

If not, tap the + sign at the top right corner of the screen.
That would create a new grouping altogether.

Once created, the app may take some time to bring all the related pictures to this new grouping.
Otherwise, you can go through the collection & add the photos to the newly created group, manually, through the same steps as described above.

PS. The edit feature may not be available in some regions. If you happen to be from that, then regretfully nothing can be done.

Two months is the 60 days the trash is talking about also.

But the confuson can be about the cache and data which the app has to manage on your phone to be able to show thumbnails whithout having a connection to Google outdoors, unless mobile data-transfer is allowed. And it is not automatically clear to us how long this local database is kept alive after your trash is emptied by Google. But this database is not recoverable by the usual "diskdiggers" and even if they are able to show some, they will have an ugly low quality.

No Google here to explain better - just labelled volunteers who often get no answer from Google either.

I have always used the google photos app on all my previous phones without any kind of issues and i think it is the best app there is, but since i bought 6 months ago the Samsung S21 Ultra the google photos app is behaving slow, lagging dramatically and freezing when swiping through photos quickly.

The internal gallery app on the samsung does not have this issue and neither can it be resource issue on the phone due to the fact that it has 16 gb of RAM.

I suspect it is happening because of the 30-40 MB per photo that the devices takes with its 108 Mp camera, but nevertheless it is really enoying.

However, you can compose a movie using the video & then change the audio,

To change the music in the movie, please follow these steps.

Tap to open the movie.
Tap once again to make the controls visible.
Tap the edits symbol below the movie
That will show the next page & there you will find the music symbol ♪. Tap on that.
The pop-up screen will show the following options "My music" "Theme Music" or "No music".
My music allows replacing the current music with your recording in MP3 format.
Theme music shows the entire collection available through Google under various headings. Select any that you like. Once selected, tap on the tick mark at the top right corner.
Save the edited movie.
