The steps to take a screenshot vary between phone models & android versions.

However, if you have activated OK Google or Hey Google detection on your phone, the easiest way would be to say, "Hey Google take a screenshot". Then the Google assistant will do the work for you. However, once the screenshot is ready, upload that through Google Photos.

Nevertheless, the following are the standard methods to take a screenshot.

Long press the power button & tap on the menu option "Screenshot".
Press the volume down & power button simultaneously.
Press the volume down & home button simultaneously.
Press the power button & home button simultaneously.
Pull down the notification panel & look for the screenshot option.

You may try all these or refer to the documentation provided by your phone's manufacturer.

To bring back the pics to your phone's gallery either, you can download photos one by one.

Regrettably, there is no option to download the photos in bulk.

Alternatively, you can install the Google One app. There is a one time option to restore up to two hundred most recent photos to the device.

However, that will not restore the local folder structure.

There is no requirement to join Google One. The option is available to everyone.

However, the method may not be helpful to recover something when the count is more than two hundred.

Or, you can arrange for a bulk download by visiting the link https://takeout.google.com/.

Select the Google Photos app for data download.

Once the file is ready, you will get an email. Access that & unzip all the attachments into your phone's gallery. However, you have to ensure your phone has free space more than the size of the downloaded zip file.

it may take Google Photos some time to process uploaded videos and in the meantime it shows them at reduced resolution such as 360p or 720p. I recommend that you wait at least a few more days for the processing to complete and for the full resolution videos to be available.

Can't see the photo or video? If a deleted photo or video is not in the trash, you cannot restore it. You cannot restore the photo in the following cases:

Google Photos also is a website (https://photos.google.com) and is a bit less exclusive - also for movies.

Nevertheless: it would be normal to pre-edit your pictures on your Mac and then export them in order to ge t good quality jpg-files which can be uploaded straight into https://photos.google.com without any need for an additional app - unless you have many pictures every day. But then you will get low quality on the web.

Movie-files can't be converted into jpg-files, so these must be uploaded as they are.

PS: Apple may have filetypes which can't be handled at all. Just viewed on Mac only.

Sorry you are having issues. Not sure if they have been resolved but it's unclear which format you are trying to convert from.

If you download multiple images at one time they will be packaged in a zip file. If you don't want to extract the images from the zip file you can download the images one at a time.

The HEIC format is a different issue based on the settings in your iPhone (I just use "Most compatible" format in the Camera settings on your phone). Changing the camera settings will NOT change previously taken images - there are converters (which I have no experience with) such as: https://heictojpg.com/

If you don't care about a very high resolution copy, you could try doing a screen capture of the image.
