Please check in the Google Photos trash, maybe there are the photos/videos you are looking for. (Open Google Photos --> Trash)

Divyansh, Deleted Photos are stored in Trash for up to 60 days, if you delete Photos again from trash, that's two times deletion.
 
Unfortunately, once Photos are deleted from trash there is no way to retrieve them back :(

I fixed it. Since Google wasn't showing but six of my albums, I created a new one with all 437 pics of my former slideshow, AND it appeared in my GH ambient list! The only down side, is I had to subscribe to a data plan with more storage. Ingenious business model.

Now- with that out of the way let's deal with Yasindu 's post in  Google Photos.
Please note that, due to a variety of reasons, not all files can be recovered - but you can try!
 
1. Items deleted from your photos.google.com are stored in trash for 60 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.
 
2. Items deleted manually from photos.google.com/trash can not be recovered.
 
3. Items deleted from your YouTube Channel can not be recovered.
 
4. Items deleted from your Gmail are stored in trash for 30 days and then are Auto-Deleted from trash and can not be recovered.
 
5. Items manually deleted from Gmail trash can not be recovered.
 
6. Items deleted from your Google Drive  will be stored in Drive Trash for 30 days and then be Auto-Deleted from Trash and can not be recovered.
 
1).If you are using a regular personal account
You will have to contact a Google Drive Specialist who *MAY* be able to restore it. Use this link:
 
2). If you use a work/student account (G Suite), you should contact your Account Admin as they can restore files up to 25 days after deletion.

Unfortunately, but logically, no.  Part of this, I believe, is because Apple restricts what what types of activities non-Apple applications are allowed to do in the background.
 
Therefore,  the safest thing for most iOS user to do is to primarily (and almost exclusively) use the Google Photos app and opposed to the native iOS Photos app (or directly from the Camera's ~edit mode~). Also, look for the "Backup complete" message before doing any clean-up and only use "Free up space".
 
When you say "permanently delete it from my iPhone photos app", did you empty the iOS Photos "Recently deleted" album?  If not, you may be able to recover the image(s) from there.
 
Keep in mind that Google Photos and ~iCloud Photo Library~ use different approaches to image management and should not be used simultaneously for syncing activities.
 
It is always a good idea to store important images in more than one place / tool.  My photos are in Google Photos, on my laptop, and on multiple external disk drives (not connected to any computer or network).

If the Google Photos app is not opened, it should not synch. I just reconfirmed this on my iPhone with the Google Photos app open but in the background.  I would not necessarily count on this being a ~forever behavior~ (operating system or application changes could change things in the future, but this seems somewhat unlikely, it would probably be a big deal)

Whether it's "all good" or not depends on your desired outcome. ;-)

As mentioned in the first post, unless deleted from the "Recently deleted" album the images or video might  remain there for about a month.

Any other input is welcome from others.

Based on my limited testing, if the app is force closed it will not upload images until it is opened again. This is not based on any hidden documentation, you can do the same tests that I did.  Will it behave this way forever? Google Photos doesn't unfortunately provide any direct control over which contacts are included in sharing lists. You may share more photos with the contacts you keep in touch often so that Google Photos eventually notices and removes the ones you share with less frequently, such as former bosses.

Your phone is encoding some faulty EXIF data in your photos.
To overcome that, either you can make the picture upside down & then add to the messaging app.

If you can't find your photos in the bin, it is most likely that you didn't turn on the Back Up and Sync or You Permanently deleted your photos.
 
Permanently deleted video/photos can no longer be recovered on Google Photos.
 
But there is a third party app that you may try to use to recover your permanently deleted photos/videos.
 
You may download the File Recovery from the Google Play Store(Android Device only).
 
That app can recover permanently deleted files(photos/videos). I'm also using it.
 
Note: this app must be use with the device where the files was deleted.

You can arrange for a bulk download by visiting the link https://takeout.google.com/.
Select the Google Photos app for data download. Select the year in which the video was composed.

Years ago I took my Apple Photos Library and imported it to Google Photos using the Mac Backup & Sync client. Now that Google is charging for Photos storage, I'm examining the storage and find gigs of Apple Photos Library files are taking up space in Google Drive.

While most of these files are clearly not being used for the Google Photos library, there is the Masters folder, which contains subfolders with original photos. If I get info on a photo in the Masters folder, I can find the same one in my Photos library—I'm seeing the same photo in both places but I can't tell if that's a COPY of the photo in both places or Photos is showing a REFERENCE to the one in the Masters folder.

Does anyone know what the truth how this storage is working?
Can I delete the Drive files without removing any photos from Photos?

You can safely delete the Drive folders without affecting the Google Photos copy but first make sure that the library is no longer syncing to the desktop. Once deleted and confirmed all is OK you will need to empty the trash to free up the space.

Regretfully, I couldn't replicate your issue.
 
I noted the date of a picture & deleted that.
 
Then after one hour I restored that.
The photo was there in the same chronological order.

You don't need to redownload, but you do need to do so tasks. If you haven't created (or don't care about) albums in you mom's account it is fairly easy.  If you do care about albums, then the additional effort is proportional to the number of albums.
 
There are several approaches here:
 
Unfortunately,  I believe but definitely am not positive, that  High Quality photos from prior to June 1, 2021 in your mom's account which did not count against your storage quota will count in your new account.  If you have a large amount of older photos you might want to test this with a sample of photos, so that you go into it with your eyes wide open.  If you don't mind paying for storage (everybody probably will sooner or later but you might be able to delay it a few years).  Note; if you attempt this, I would be interested in what you find out.
 
Method C is probably the easiest, but it does not move albums.  You could combine Method C (probably first) and then Method B if albums are important to you.
 
Other opinions and ideas are welcome!

Putting a photo in an album creates only a tag & thus, you can add the same picture in multiple albums with different tags.

But thereafter you can use an album as the source for a new book. 

PS: the pictures in an album normally are sorted chronologically but if there are a couple of scanned old prints or slides, then these never will have correct dates, But the problem is that you can't change to more appropriate values in the Photos-app - that should be done on photos.google.com in the Chrome-app via the individual infopanel of these pictures.
