I want to remove screen shots app
Hello, Judy Watson 5478
Welcome to the Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
Screenshots are a convenient medium to convey something visible on the phone.
Further, we do not need any separate app to capture screenshots. That's an inbuilt feature.
Nevertheless, you can stop the back up of screenshots.
In the library view, you will see a folder named "Screenshots".
Tap that & on the next screen tap the slider in front of "Back up & sync" to put that off.
Alternatively, if you wish the backup to continue but stop the screenshots nagging into the gallery, you can archive those all.

Question: Why i didn't find all photos in one person that belongs to him
I didn't find all photos for one person in people
Hello, adila zaima
Welcome to the Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
The people search feature in Google Photos is evolving. That may fail to recognise some faces.
You may see that face coming up in an independent group after some time as the app keeps on going through the collection repeatedly.
However, if you do not wish waiting for that, you can do so manually.
You can add a person through the following steps.
Tap to open the photo which contains unidentified faces & then slide up or tap the three dots.
If the app had failed to include some faces in that picture, then you will see a prompt "XX faces available to add".
Tap the edit icon at the extreme right edge. (An icon of a pencil).
That will show identified faces in square boxes & their thumbnails at the bottom.
Tap on the + sign on each thumbnail. That will create a new grouping.
However, the app may take some time to bring all the related pictures to this new grouping.

Hello, Saida sultana Pappu
Welcome to the Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
Understand you are unable to download videos. What's happening exactly? Whether the download doesn't start? Or, does that terminate abruptly?
Nevertheless, can you try downloading through the web?
Please enter photos.google.com in any web browser on your phone. Log into the webpage using your Google account & then search for the video. Then, arrange for the download.
Please inform in case of any difficulty.

Answer:
Hi Abhinay,
Thanks for writing back.
Could you please try using the Google Photos app by switching the phone to Safe Mode? In Android 4.1 or later versions, to reboot into safe mode you have to long press the power button until you get the options menu which has the following options – Power off, Airplane mode, and Silent mode. After getting these options on your screen, long press the Power off button, you will be getting a message that prompts you to reboot your device to safe mode. By tapping the OK button, your device will reboot into safe mode, which will disable all third party applications you have installed. You can be sure that your device started in safe mode by seeing a safe mode indicator on the bottom left side corner of your device screen.
Keep me posted.

Hello, arnab ghosh
Welcome to the Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
If you do not wish backing up some folder to Google Photos, ensure that remains unselected in the folders list appearing in the Backup & sync menu.
If you wish to make that doubly sure, then create a file named .nomdia & store that in the folder which you do not wish backing up. Then Google Photos will not even list that.
However, the folder will remain invisible to other apps also.

Trust, you are having good internet connectivity.
However, are you using any data saver mode? Please disable that while using Google Photos app.
Next, try signing out of the Google account through which you are accessing the app & then sign in again.
However, if that doesn't help, please uninstall & reinstall the app through the following steps.
On your Android phone, open the Settings.
Tap Apps and notifications.
Tap Show all apps.
Tap Google Photos.
Tap Storage and cache.
Tap Clear storage.
Next, uninstall the Google Photos app.
Power off the phone & then restart.
Install the latest version of the Google Photos app through the Play Store.
Log into your profile & see whether that helps to overcome the current problem.

I am using dual What's app on my android phone. So when I try to delete the images received in the dual What's app from Google photos, a pop up comes "Photos need SD card access". First of all I am only using my internal memory. So even after giving permission of all my folders to Google photos, it displays the same message. So later I found out the path of that particular images from my phone gallery, and it happens that in my file manager a different storage is made called "Storage for dual app" which is maybe acting as an
external SD card. So when I again try to give permission of that "dual app storage" I can't find it through the Google photos permission page, as if the dual storage doesn't exist. So I cannot delete those particular images from Google photos as I can't give permission of that Dual storage.....as Google photos doesn't even know that it exists. When making suggestions for new features/improvements, the quickest way (and recommended best practice) is to use the 'Send Feedback' link from within the product itself as that goes straight to the developers to alert them of requested additions or changes to the platform.
Please note that you will NOT, under most circumstances, get a reply.
Please be sure to leave separate Feedback for each suggestions as they may go to different development teams. Thanks

Hello, anugrah hiwale
Welcome to the Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
The feature to install dual apps is configured by the phone manufacturers who provide dual sim handsets.
Officially, neither WhatsApp nor Android supports the duplication of apps.
Thus, the manufacturers have used workarounds to overcome that difficulty for which Google Photos doesn't provide any support.
You may have to use a workaround to circumvent that.
Instead of backing the photos through the dual folders, please move them to some other routine folder using the file manager app.
Then Google Photos will not seek access to SD card, erroneously.

Hello, richard 9169
Google Photos app doesn't have any facility to password protect the content.
You have to take the following actions to eliminate someone else from accessing your collection intentionally.
- Do not share your login credentials & secure your account with two-factor authentication. Always lock your desktop PC to prevent someone from browsing through that in your absence. That will prevent web access to your collection.
- Use screen pinning when you give your phone to someone. Once done, the other person can't come out of the pinned app. Also, use biometric features to unlock your phone.

Hello, Abhilash Merugu
Welcome to the Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
It's a strange phenomenon you aren't able to back up through WIFI but can do so using mobile data.
Are you using the same ISP for connecting the router to the internet?
If not, please check whether the ISP is providing asymmetric download & upload speeds. Please do a speed test. Many web utilities provide that facility.
Further, if too many devices are connected to the WIFI source, you will be getting too small bandwidth to carry the uploads.
Try disconnecting other devices.

If you cannot remember account information to log back in, you can try these tips to assist with Google Account recovery https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/7299973
(Note: if the account has been inactive for a two years, it may be totally deleted.)
We are unable to help you with other company's accounts. You will need to contact their support.
If you are eventually unable to access any of the accounts, you might consider creating an Album in Google Photos:
- Open Google Photos
- Select Library
- Select Create an album
- Add whatever photos you do have
- Select Share
- Select either people to share the album with who also use Google Photos, or create a link to share via Email or Messages (for example)
Then share the link with friends and family members who may have copies of old photos. They can use the link to upload images to the shared album. Remember to select the images and then add them to your Library so you can maintain a copy of the images.

Google Photos does not change anything automatically, but uses standard RGB, while your pictures may have been edited on Adobe RGB. So you may need to use Adobe cloud to prevent this problem.

never, Never, NEVER, NEVER -EVER edit an original photo. ALWAYS make a copy and edit the copy.
Answer:
I did yesterday & the original was saved, this is why I'm so upset. So I'm guessing I'm out of luck from your reply.
Thank you for replying, its nice to get a reply even if its not the one I want to hear.
Stay safe 😷
Answer:
If edited within Google Photos, the edited version is shown, but the original is still present in background.
If you open the editor on that picture again, you should be able to undo the edits.
You also can save the edited version as copy, but then you would see the original and the edited one next to each other (normally).
If none is applicable to your situation, you must have edited outside Google Photos.

Question: My photo or video was delet permanently please restore my photo or video
My photo or video
Hello everyone,
If you deleted an item and want it back, check your trash to see if it's there.
On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app.
- At the bottom, tap Library and then Trash .
- Touch and hold the photo or video you want to restore.
- At the bottom, tap Restore. The photo or video will be back:
- In your phone's gallery app
- In your Google Photos library
- In any albums it was in
If the item is not in your trash, it may be permanently deleted.
If a deleted photo or video isn't in trash, you can't restore it. You won't be able to restore a photo if:
- You moved it to trash more than 60 days ago.
- You moved it to trash, then emptied your trash.
- You permanently deleted it from your trash.
- You permanently deleted it from your device's Gallery app, without backing it up first.
Important: If your Google Photos account is inactive for 2 years or you're over your storage limit, your content may be impacted.Learn more about this.
If the photos were still locally stored on your phone before it was deleted, you can decide if data recovery is useful. Typically you download an app to your computer, attach the phone via USB to your computer, and then run the software to attempt data recovery of locally stored data on your phone that was recently deleted. (But not attempt recovery on Google's online data center.) I don't have recommendations for a specific app, but you can do a Google search to explore your options.
Best wishes,
Joe

Question: I wantPics
Some pics are not disappeared on my phone pls help me get to back up
Hello, Sampath Sundaragiri
Welcome to the Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
Sorry to note pics have disappeared on my phone.
However, photos do not vanish spontaneously without any action from our side.
If you try deleting the photos through the camera or gallery app on your phone, the backup & sync will ask you saying, "Remove from Google Account and Synced devices?".
In reality, that is a warning. There is no option to say no.
That means, the moment we delete a photo from the phone, that action removes it from everywhere.
The same thing happens when we delete a pic through Google Photos.
If we want to remove photos from the Camera, then we should the "Free up space" option in Google photos only & nothing else.
However, if your delete action is not older than sixty days, you will find the photos in the bin. Please retrieve those from there immediately.
After sixty days, items get removed from the bin automatically.
Select all the pics in the Bin & recover those.
However, if sixty days have already passed from your delete action, then there is no way to recover those pics through Google Photos.
Nevertheless, if your action of deletion is recent, then, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to pick one that doesn't require rooting). https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps and run a scan for anything to recover.
However, by this time, the phone may have overwritten in the vacant space & any chances of recovery are slim.

Hello, Pat Powell
Welcome to the Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
Google photos app picks this information through the geolocation data present in the photos.
If the camera doesn't have GPS, the photos app determines that approximately based on our timeline.
Believe you have switched on "High accuracy mode" for the location service. That helps in minimising such errors.
Even then, there can be a lot of inaccuracy in the location.
The article at this link describes that quite well.
https://support.google.com/maps/forum/AAAAQuUrST8Xv5JITOCgKo/
Nevertheless, we can correct the information in case of any observed discrepancy.
To do so, enter the link photos.google.com link in your mobile browser.
Tap the required photo to open in full screen.
Tap once again to make the menu visible at the top.
Tap the encircled letter "i".
Tap the place name appearing above the map.
Enter the correct name.
That will change the incorrect data in the affected photos.

Hello, alison maes
Welcome to the Google Photos Community Support Forum & thanks for your query.
I guess you are making a text search to find the photos.
However, the current text search is imperfect. The AI is still learning to find something meaningful in the pictures.
Nevertheless, many persons are contributing to that by joining the crowdsource. Let's wish for some improved results through those efforts.

Hi Anita,
I’m sorry, it’s not possible to recover photos permanently deleted from the Google Photos Trash. However, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps and run a scan for anything to recover.
In addition I recommend that you contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Just open the Google Drive https://support.google.com/drive/?hl=en&authuser=0#topic=14940&contact=1 contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.
