The app will never delete any single picture unless we want to do so.

 

Further, you did not answer my queries.

I presume the bin is empty.

 

If the bin is empty, there is no way to get back the deleted pictures through Google Photos.

 

Nevertheless, you may install to your Android device a deleted photo recovery app (be sure to not pick one that requires rooting) https://play.google.com/store/search?q=recover%20deleted%20photos&c=apps;

and run a scan for anything to recover.

To do so, please follow these steps.

• Tao to open the photo
• Tap Edit
• Slide the menu bar with the leading tab "Suggestions" towards the left to reveal the option "More". Tap on that
• Slide the menu bar with the leading tab "Markup" to reveal the option Snap seed. However, that will be available only when you have Snap Seed installed on your phone
• Once in Snap Seed, tap on the Tools option in the bottom row,

• Now, in the bottom bar, you will see a filled and another hollow triangle juxtaposed. Tap on that.

Hello 范綱傑,

 

You may have to wait until the exports which failed have expired and you can be selective by only choosing the year albums which contain all the master photos, or selected albums. Choosing both will download multiple copies of your photos.

 

Go to Google Dashboard and expand the Photos tab then left click on the 3 dots and select Download data. If you wait a minute until 'All photos albums included' pops up then click on it and deselect all.

See screenshots online.

Then scroll down and select all the year albums Photos from 2020 etc, or any Albums you have created

 

You will now get a single copy of each photo, one json file per photo, and one filename-edited.jpg for each edited photo.

 

Unfortunately there is no easy way to use the json files without specialist software so they can be safely deleted.

What we see as duplicates have some difference in file format or metadata.

Hi All, I had faced the same issue in January this year where my photos got deleted from my Bin accidently as I was running short of space. In my case the worst part was that my Google photos was synced with my phone so i got to know too late that when you sync google photos with your phone on the option of original quality then if you delete photos from the google photos app or web it will get deleted from you phone gallery too, which was the worst part. No one from google was able to help me. I followed up with them for weeks to help me but they couldn't. They do not have a system in place to help consumer users of google services like google photos. I lost 1000 photos forever.

You will not get you photos back , don't waste your time , Sorry to say this harsh truth to you :'( .

I have learnt the lesson the hard way and have stopped using google sync for photos since then. It is better to lose my photos if my phone dies rather than lose it to a cloud service like google where they don't bother to help you retrieve it even if they can.

If you choose to proceed anyway, there is nothing that any of the volunteers in this forum can do to help you recover your pictures.

Once confirmed all the pics are visible, please put your device into flight mode & then try to open the Google Photos app.

I remember from one earlier thread, the app app behaves in this manner when the backup & sync is on & the app is trying to upload some large quantum.

Stopping the backup & sync may allow the app to open & then plan some further actions.
