Please review the following information in case there are any options you haven't yet tried. 

1. Check your online account - photos.google.com

If your photos were successfully uploaded to your online Google Photos account they may be available there. Try visiting photos.google.com and searching for them. If you have more than one Google account, check all of them. 

 

2. Check the trash - photos.google.com/trash

Once you delete photos from your Google Photos account, they're moved to Trash for the next 60 days. If you deleted them by mistake you can always restore them from the Trash folder within those 60 days. Here's the link explaining how to recover them from Trash. If you have more than one Google account, check the trash for all of them.

 

If you accessed the Trash and manually sent the photos for permanent deletion, or if the 60 days expired, there is no way to recover them from Google Photos. 

 

3. Review other options

• if you previously used Picasa, visit picasaweb.google.com and search for your photos. 
• have you made any backups of the photos on your phone, camera, computer, or elsewhere?
• there is a small chance that you can restore the photos using a recover deleted photos app (Android). I haven't used them myself so have no specific recommendations. There may well be more app options if you visit the appropriate app store and try other search terms. I don't see any similar apps on the iOS store, but you could check yourself. 
• you can contact the Google Drive support team to see if any deleted files may be recovered. Use the Google Drive contact form, click Missing or deleted files, select a contact option, and be sure to tell them you permanently deleted files in Google Drive.
• If you ever shared the photos with anyone else, it's possible they may have a copy they could share back or send to you.

I'm so sorry but you're about 4 months too late.  Once the photos have been moved to the Trash Bin, they will stay there for 2 months and then get automatically deleted from there.  Once they have been deleted from the Trash Bin, they're gone for good.

I've just received the first photo book from Google that I have created using Google Photos. I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed. 

Firstly it wasn't very easy to create page layouts that featured multiple images, and also it wasn't that simple to get the images to fill the whole page without leaving white space all round the image. The defaults need to be set to create borderless pages.  This is really a criticism of the page creation interface that I think needs more work.

Secondly I wasn't expecting the rather small square album format that has a finished size that is 3cm narrower than A4. I was expecting it to be at least the width of A4. Where there were borders round the image, some of the pages had just one image which was just 15cm x 11cm or less than 6" x 4".

What do other people think of their results with Google photobooks?
