If you have deleted the pics through Google Photos, then you would find them in the bin.

If you have emptied the bin, then regret, there is no way to get those back through Google Photos.

Google Photos never uploads the same picture multiple times.

What we see as duplicates have some differences in file format or metadata.

Additionally, if you have activated Raw + JPEG capture or bracketing in your phone app, that would create duplicates.

Regrettably, Google Photos doesn't provide any means to remove the apparent duplicates. You have to search those manually.

Better to tell a bit more, because what you ask is quite abnormal.

I continue to get error messages along these lines: "Can't convert 1234 photos to high quality. 123456.RW2 and 1233 other items can't be copied to Google Photos. They will continue to be store as original quality in Google Drive using 71.2 GB of storage.

Meanwhile, thousands of my older JPG photos are not being backed up to Google Photos. I assume these 2 problems are related.

Kiet just reported that removing the folders in the Computer-tab on Drive containing the RAW-files helped him to solve the storage problem. So that action probably also will solve your problem that your older jpg-files were not uploaded, just because of that storage problem.

If You need to delete it manually there is no feature which can delete all the dublicate, you can try desktop website which will be easier narrow down the photos tiles, and select all the dublicate and delete.
