Hi Martha,

Welcome to the Google Photos Product Help Forum!

That sounds like it is probably a message from Google Maps.

Look for the "See your photos" or "See your contributions" button in the message to see what the people have seen.

You MIGHT also be able to see them if you go here and click on "Photos": https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/ 

Photos in Google Photos are private unless you share them and you can see those at:

https://photos.google.com/u/0/sharing

Hello John,

 

The safest way to delete from Google Photos is to delete the Google Photos app and delete the photos at https://photos.google.com/  or in bulk at https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_ where they are sorted by upload date.

The camera roll photos will not be affected.

 

If you need to reinstall the app do not enable Back up & sync, any online deletions will not be synced to the camera roll. The photos will be backed up again if Backup & sync is re-enabled.
