Trump news on Youtube Jan 2 2019

Retired General Stanley McChrystal on Sunday slammed President Donald Trump as immoral, shady, and a liar, adding he wouldn't join the president's administration

Stanley, who was the U.S.commander in Afghanistan for a year during the Obama administration, didn't hold back in his criticism of the president in an interview with ABC News

'I think it's important for me to work for people who I think are basically honest, who tell the truth as best they know it,' he said of why he would not join Trump's administration

'I don't think he tells the truth,' McChrystal replied.'Is Trump immoral, in your view?,' she asked

'I think he is,' he responded.McChrystal was the U.S.commander in Afghanistan under then-President Barack Obama and did not mince words then either

He gave an interview to Rolling Stone in June 2010 where he mocked several  administration officials, including then-Vice President Joe Biden

Obama called him onto the carpet, dragging him from Afghanistan to the Oval Office for an explanation of the interview

McChrystal apologized and resigned from his post amid the fallout. On Sunday, he praised another military commander for his resignation

McChrystal told ABC News that the resignation letter from Defense Secretary James Mattis was 'valuable' and should cause all Americans to think about their commander-in-chief

'I would guess that Secretary Mattis took a long time agonizing over writing a letter that was as direct about his feelings as that particular letter was

He knew it would be very public and it would make a very strong statement that was much broader than the Syria issue

It was about America's role in the world,' he said.He added: 'I personally think it was valuable

I think maybe it causes the American people to take pause and say, wait a minute, if we have someone who is as selfless and as committed as Jim Mattis resigns his position, walking away from all the responsibility he feels for every service member in our forces, and he does so in a public way like that, we ought to stop and say, OK, why did he do it? We ought to ask what kind of commander in chief he had that Jim Mattis that, you know, the good Marine, felt he had to walk away

' Mattis' resignation came in protest after Trump announced he was pulling out U.S

troops from Syria, which the two men disagreed about. He slammed Trump in his resignation letter - a move that earned him an early exit from the administration

'Because you have the right to a Secretary of Defense whose views are better aligned with yours on these and other subjects,' Mattis wrote in his letter, 'I believe it is right for me to step down from my position

' 'One core belief I have always held is that our strength as a nation is inextricably linked to the strength of our unique and comprehensive system of alliances and partnerships,' he wrote

'While the US remains the indispensable nation in the free world, we cannot protect our interests or serve that role effectively without maintaining strong alliances and showing respect to those allies

' Mattis also declared that America 'must be resolute and unambiguous in our approach to those countries whose strategic interests are increasingly in tension with ours

' Trump later announced Mattis would leave the Pentagon at the end of the year instead of February as his resignation originally said

McChrystal cautioned anyone who would join the president's administration to think carefully if they could be fully loyal to Trump

'I would ask them to look in the mirror and ask them if they can get comfortable enough with President Trump's approach to governance, how he conducts himself, with his values and with his world view, to be truly loyal to him as a commander in chief and going forward,' he said

'And we're all instinctively loyal. But the reality is, if there's too much of a disconnect, then I would tell him, I think it's - it would be a bad foundation upon which to try to build a successful partnership with that job,' he added

He said of Trump supporters: ' I would ask every American to do is, again, stand in front of that mirror and say, what are we about? Am I really willing to throw away or ignore some of the things that people do that are pretty unacceptable, normally, just because they accomplish certain other things that we might like?' He added: 'If we want to be governed by someone we wouldn't do a business deal with because their background is so shady, if we're willing to do that, then that's in conflict with who I think we are

And so I think it's necessary at those times to take a stand.'

80% Of Americans Agree Trump's Border Wall Is A Complete Waste Of Money - Duration: 2:52.

So right now the federal government is currently shut down because Donald Trump wants five

point $7 billion dollars to start the construction of his border wall.

Although he did tell us a few days ago, don't call it a wall, it's actually a series of

steel slats.

And then we found out it wasn't actually steal slots, it's actually still spikes.

Um, and then he went back to calling it a wall.

So we don't even know exactly what, what he wants to build down there at the border.

But we know he wants five point $7,000,000,000 to build it.

And he shut down the federal government because he's not getting his money.

Well, anyway, bad news for the president because according to the latest polling data, a data,

only 19 percent of people in this country think that this five point $7,000,000,000

wall steel slat contraption is a good use of money.

Only night 10%.

The remaining 80%+ would like to see that five point $7,000,000,000 spent on quite literally

anything else.

But there are some specifics that people would like to see the money spent on.

Uh, the big one is healthcare more than 30%.

Actually 36% of people in this country would love to see that five point $7 billion spent

on prescription drugs for the needy, expanding health insurance to people expanding Medicaid,

medicare, getting more people insurance coverage through private insurance.

However you slice it.

36% say, oh, instead of building a wall, why don't we build up people?

Thirty percent say, you know what?

We've got roads and bridges that have been crumbling in this country for 20 years.

Maybe spend it on infrastructure.

I mean, five point 7 billion isn't going to go a super long way for infrastructure, but

it's got to repair a lot of things that could turn deadly if they're not addressed soon.

Other percentages say, how about we do Universal Pre-K?

Because that would 100% pay for all of that.

Why don't we invest in green jobs?

Why don't we invest in renewable energy?

Why don't we invest in literally anything other than a steel slatted wall with metal

spikes designed to impale anyone who tries to climb them.

And that's where the public is at today.

And to be honest, that's uplifting.

That is a positive story.

80% of the public would rather use Trump's wall money to take care of American citizens

than to lock people out of the United States.

That is actually a pretty positive note to end the year 2018 on.

For-Profit Prisons Making MILLIONS From Trump's Immigrant Camps - Duration: 4:04.

The private prison industry made $800,000,000 just off of Donald Trump's migrant detention

facilities in the year 2018.

According to a recent investigation by the daily beast, uh, there's roughly 638 different

sites were for profit.

Prisons are operating these migrant detention facilities.

And through the contracts they've gotten from the federal government, they have pulled in

more than $800,000,000.

So at this point we're talking close to $1,000,000,000 just for one year of Donald Trump's war on

immigrants.

And after all, let's not forget the war on immigrants wasn't necessarily beginning in

January of 2018.

We didn't start the family separation policy and the locking of the kids in cages until

roughly may of 2018.

So they made that $800,000,000 basically just for housing people for seven months.

And you would think it wouldn't get any worse than that.

Right?

You know, these people are making a profit off of children dying in their custody, making

a profit off of locking human beings in cages.

But somehow it does still manage to get worse because apparently they're using these migrants

who are being held in these facilities for months at a time.

Some of them, they're using them as cheap sources of labor.

So rather than spending that $800,000,000 that you got from the government on hiring

people to do things like laundry, janitorial, work, preparing food and meals for your inmates,

they're making the actual migrants do those jobs, paying them anywhere between $1 and

$3 per day.

So not only do they not have to actually hire a staffer, had a regular salary, a regular

hourly rate to do these things that have to be done.

They're just using the migrants.

The people who came here seeking asylum, the people who came here legally seeking asylum

are working for one to $3 per day in these $800, million dollar prison camps.

Just because the private for profit prison industry wants to make more money.

Now, this is actually something that we had discussed way back in May when these detention

facilities were first popping up and making the news.

And that is the fact that many of these contracts for the construction and staffing of these

detention facilities, these contracts extend through the year 2022.

So if you're thinking that this process is going to end, you know, maybe when Democrats

take back the house, maybe when Democrats take back the White House, it's not.

These contracts are for the next four years.

Some of them even longer than that.

This is becoming a permanent policy here in the United States and it is going to take

an act from the next president of the United States in order to put it to an end.

And if that person is anything other than a true progressive populist, a person who

actually cares about other people than do not expect any of this to come to an end.

Because that private prison industry that's making close to a billion dollars a year just

on the migrants in their detention facilities.

They're going to make sure that they give enough money to both parties in the upcoming

election cycles to make sure that whoever wins that next presidential election, they're

going to continue this policy.

So these for profit prisons can keep raking in the cash.

TRUMP JUST WARNED MILLIONS OF AMERICANS OF MAJOR SCANDAL – BIG CHANGES COMING IN 2019! - Duration: 10:17.

TRUMP JUST WARNED MILLIONS OF AMERICANS OF MAJOR SCANDAL – BIG CHANGES COMING IN 2019!

President shows no signs of slowing down in the new year, despite his sweeping success

of accomplishing most of his campaign promises in the first half of his first term in office.

While Democrat leaders are enjoying their break from government duties while Congress

is shut down, Trump has been hard at work in the White House.

The president wants to start the new year out right by bringing big changes after exposing

a majo9r scandal in this country.

My Twin Tiers reports: Social Security recipients will see an increase

in their benefits for 2019.

Benefits will rise almost three percent due to a cost-of-living adjustment announced back

in the fall.

That's the biggest jump in seven years.

For the average retired worker, it will mean about $39 more each month or $468 per year.

The cost-of-living adjustment is based on a broad index of consumer prices calculated

by the government.

At the same time though, be on the lookout for scammers pretending to be from the Social

Security Administration..

The S.S.A said so far this year, more than 35,000 people reported the scam, compared

to just over 3,000 last year.

The scammers will often say your Social Security number is about to be suspended because of

suspicious activity.

Your Social Security number will never be suspended and you do not have to verify your

number to anyone who calls.

The Social Security Administration will never call to threaten your benefits or tell you

to wire money or

send cash.

Democrats Begin Hiring Lawyers For Judiciary Committee To Investigate Trump - Duration: 4:46.

According to a recent report on CNN, Democrats who are about to take over the house judiciary

committee and we'll have subpoena power, they're going to be launching a lot of investigations

into Donald Trump.

And the reason CNN comes to this conclusion is because they've actually discovered a lot

of job postings in dc for things like criminal lawyers, immigration lawyers, constitutional

lawyers, intellectual property lawyers, commercial and administrative lawyers including antitrust

and bankruptcy.

Uh, and oversight lawyers, uh, for executive branch, Investigative Council, Executive Branch,

Investigative Council, which means they want to hire a bunch of lawyers because they're

planning on launching a lot of investigations into the executive branch.

Here's the problem I have with this and this is a problem that I've mentioned many times,

so I'm going to keep mentioning it because I feel like some of these investigations would

be a complete waste of time.

The, the biggest investigation that actually needs to happen and it needs to happen on

January third when they take over.

Subpoenas need to be issued.

Day One is to find out why the hell children keep dying at the border.

Get Kirstjen Nielsen, in their maker.

Testify under oath and make her say every single thing that she knows, force her out

of office and make her pay for what has happened to these children.

Lock her up.

I don't care.

Send her to prison for the rest of her life charger with manslaughter or homicide, whatever

it is.

That's what needs to happen.

Totally cool with that investigation.

That has to happen.

Not just needs to.

It has to, but some of these other things, right?

I. I know we as as liberals, Progressives, Democrats, whatever we are, we want to see

Trump gone right there.

There's no argument there.

I think among any of us.

The problem is these people taking over the House of Representatives were elected for

a reason and that reason wasn't necessarily to launch.

Investigation after investigation into Donald Trump.

It's because people wanted solutions to the problems they face in their daily life.

Now their daily life doesn't necessarily include problems of Donald Trump's tax evasion.

It's important, but it doesn't affect them.

What does affect them is not being able to afford health insurance, not being able to

for prescription medication, not being able to afford college.

Not being able to afford pre k, those are the things we need to address and we have

to do it legislatively.

We cannot devote 100 percent of our time to investigating this guy trying to come up with

something to impeach him on the evidence is there.

We can find it and when we have time we can investigate it, but if the Democrats spend

all their time investigating and not legislating, pushing these proposals that they campaigned

on in the 2018 midterms, then they can go ahead and kiss 20 slash 20 goodbye because

yeah, majority of the public hates Donald Trump too.

We all want to see him gone, but we would rather destroy him with good policy, good

ideas, and helping the less fortunate than wasting the next two years launching investigations

that may or may not bear fruit.

We've got plenty of those going on right now that Congress doesn't even have to worry about.

Protect Mueller.

Sure.

Investigate, Kirstjen Nielsen.

Hell yeah.

That has to happen.

And after that, work on the green, new deal.

Work on medicare for all.

Give the people something to be inspired by.

We all want Trump gone, but more importantly, we want good policy coming out of Washington

dc so that two years from now, we're not sitting around without health insurance, dying of

an easily preventable illness saying, well, at least they got to impeach Donald Trump.

We would all much rather be healthy, happy, insured, and then vote the idiot out of office

and make him face rejection by the American public because that would be an even bigger

blow to his ego than impeachment would.

Pelosi UNDER FIRE! Trump To Put Her IN JAIL For What She Just DID(VIDEO)!!! - Duration: 13:35.

Pelosi UNDER FIRE! Trump To Put Her IN JAIL For What She Just DID

it's day five of the partial government shutdown over border wolf funding and

both sides are refusing to budge President Trump not backing down here's

what the president said just hours ago in Iraq we need safety for our country

even from this standpoint we have terrorists coming in through the

southern border do we have some drones can we have technology technology is

bells and whistles yeah they have a wall you have that

protection so when you say how long is it going to take when are they going to

say that we need border security what are the Democrats going to say don't

forget the Democrats all agree that you need a wall until I wanted it House

Minority Leader and soon-to-be Speaker Nancy Pelosi is pushing back against the

president claiming quote he's using scare tactics that are not

evidence-based and it's wrong former acting ice director Thomas Holman is

responding to Pelosi by saying she's the one who has it all wrong she's one of

her sent wrong so let me educate Miss Pelosi as far as crime come across the

border ice arrested 138 thousand criminals last year these are people

entered country illegally and committed a crime against the citizens country

what crime over 2,000 homicides over 11,000 weapons violation over 11,000

almost 12,000 sexual assault crimes sexual crimes so crime does come across

that board they just miraculous appear United States to enter the country

legally you know my take on this is this is a huge opportunity to do

comprehensive immigration reform both sides are dug in and positions I think

don't make a lot of sense for the country and indeed even their political

positions wouldn't it make sense to do a wall enhance border security offense as

the president talked about in exchange for a path to citizenship for the

dreamers and some right for those of 10 or 11 million who are here illegally to

stay doesn't that make sense Dana well I think so but I do an inter Furtick ad

who was there for that interview this morning and it was from Arizona I mean

we've talked about comprehensive immigration reform for years over three

different presidents that's what makes it wrong

here's the problem with the comprehensive immigration reform is it's

too big of a project to do when you have a serious crisis at the border at this

point in time border security is different than amnesty for millions of

people who are either here illegally or who brought their children over when

they were children without having gone through the proper process for

citizenship and so when the president talks about wanting a wall or a barrier

he's correct when he says that where we built these things in Yuma Arizona for

example in places in El Paso in San Diego the traffic there has stopped and

if you look at the criminal element that is bringing these children and these

people up through Mexico and using them as human shields to get into the country

you have to take a look at the real issue of the law being changed there and

I've always said that open borders are inhumane borders you had the report

today at the second child dying while in Border Patrol custody that is not a

result of border patrol that is a result of sick kids showing up at the border in

the United States giving them care that they have not seen for 2,000 miles along

their journey is okay it complicates things

enormous ly when you throw in comprehensive immigration reform when

the president's an emergency right now look I agree with Katie but I think

you're not the mess but I try well you're not where your party is right now

I know you're variable but as a relates to your party it's become an open

borders party and they have gone from one in the band ice to and let me say

this the president tried to move on this last week

and he got a major blowback and I said it last week the president if he wants

to lose his base this was the moment that he was gonna lose his base because

he was caving and so now the president is going to the opposite direction and

saying look I can't budge on this I tried to go with my people with this I

tried to get some type of reasonable approach they're not having

and so the Democrats you got to give me some wiggle room right here what you

guys want to put on the table is let's just talk about daca well that doesn't

solve the problem that's on the border and we went through this with Ronald

Reagan before where we gave you amnesty and said hey you're gonna get border

secured in my car and it never came and so the American people just aren't gonna

to go for Tom in my off-base well where you were off base was adding those 10 or

11 million that's you know if he wants to throw daca into some deal I think

people would go for it but they're not gonna go with the broad and the deal in

2013 included the 10 or 11 million I got 68 votes in the Senate is more

complicated than just giving citizenship to people who are brought here as

children from Mexico or Central America because then the question is well if

their parents are still in the country illegally do they give and get to stay

it's a complicated issue of family units and whether they get to stay it's not

just a simple piece of legislation there are serious questions surrounding how

that gets done but when it comes to the president what they have offered in

coming chief of staff Mick Mulvaney was on Fox News Sunday over the weekend and

he actually said that they've come down from there 5.7 billion dollars they did

not say what the number was but Democrats they're hoping we'll come to

some center when it comes to the funding and we're talking about three billion

dollars here and I think no political position they don't like the optics of

the wall that's what it is

but the president going to just get a physical wall on all aspects of the

border they've called it the border wall system he's talked about adding a

technology to it but the symbolic measure of the president have an

accomplishment when it comes to the wall is what Democrats are against right I'm

saying that's exactly right there has to be a compromise around a

fence enhance border security and some path to citizenship for the doctor

residents notwithstanding the issue that's a separate issue I don't

understand why Democrats keep lumping it together because there's border security

and then that's taking care of the people that are already here but you

can't talk about fixing a problem I'm sorry fixing a problem with the kids

that are you have nothing with the border I think that Democrats

even if I think if Barack Obama would have decided to build a wall to stop an

influx of illegal immigration the Democrats would have gone for great

dancing gross yes ah Christi between what Barack Obama do I should hammer

that a little bit more I mean because the Democrats did vote for border

security fencing things that look like a wall but it's it's not just the it's

some symbolism of the wall so a lot of this is a political symbol of the fight

the other thing is a shutdown right so far has been a little bit symbolic now

if you're one of the nine hundred thousand years being furloughed that's

important that is a big deal to you and they hope I hope they can take comfort

in the fact that the government has done back pay ever for them but the first

real day of the shutdown is actually today because the president gave

Christmas Eve as a holiday as well so there's this is they actually the first

real day we'll see what sort of pain comes but I think they end up with like

three point three twenty quickly isn't this ridiculous the whole thing yeah it

shut down the fight all of this yes is the worst I think if he's I don't think

it's bad for the president to throw a temper tantrum and say give me my five

billion or you're not going to get your government back I think to me it's it's

that is a to me it's a bad mistake politically and substantively you win

day six of the shutdown with no end in sight so which side is winning the

optics battle I talked to two people who know joining us now Doug Shona Fox News

contributor and former adviser to President Bill Clinton and Rachel Duffy

also a Fox News contributor welcome to you both thank you thank you so Rachel

ladies first it seems like both sides are suffering here so forth

both sides are suffering but what's interesting to me is that what's being

lost in all of this in the deal that could possibly be made are the daca

recipients a group that the Democrats have claimed to be supporting and

fighting for for so long in fact if you remember Doug last year around this time

representative Gutierrez said I'll build that wall if you help me you know do the

same thing there well why aren't the Democrats doing that it's very

interesting that it's not just the Democrats but even the Hispanic

activist groups that claim to represent this mess aren't putting pressure on the

Democrats to make it I'll tell you why the Democrats believe and I think

there's some poll evidence to support that they have leverage now and they

believe that they can win the fight both to the Democrats it is a back off

because he had been talking a wall built by Mexico now it's a wall built by us or

a fence or slats or whatever it's gonna be but how can they outfit Democrats

could who supported a barrier or some kind in the past now say they don't

support it at all well that was then this is now

and frankly with the Democratic control of the house I think there is not gonna

be a wall there is no real support in the party for a wall there is support

never was for daca and a pathway to citizenship a yeah we're for you know

border security were for a while sure they never really meant it they never

really intended for 2013 68 votes the party is the party of Alexandria Ocasio

Cortes outlier in the party are in the party and the party belongs to the

progressive wing and Nancy Pelosi is plain to that when she cares more about

getting that speakership than she cares about no no impeachment no elimination

of ice Nancy Pelosi I think has been responsible well let's talk about this

new democratic house it's currently and the Wall Street Journal today said that

this shutdown could ruin the nation's introduction to the Democratic House

it's more obstructionism hyper partisanship and political games and

less progress for America well I I think that's what The Wall Street Journal says

but with President Trump at about a forty to forty two percent approval

having lost forty seats largely in states he won in 2016 that he needs in

2020 the Democrats have calculated that this is a fight they can and will win I

think you're honest I think there there's miscalculation they also thought

they were gonna fight and win on Brett Kavanaugh I think the American people

are watching this first of all they're not as afraid of a shutdown as they used

to be because they see the the government

continues you know to operate it's not as big of a threat as it used to I used

to think it was so now they're gonna look at this and go who really cares

about America's security who really cares about the daca recipients and I

think this is a miscalculation if I can get a word and I do believe we both

would agree and I think it would be good for our colleagues in Washington to hear

that if we did a deal if we resurrected the compromised daca for a wall I'd be

for it I think you'd be for it I think the American people would be so as the

clock ticks and we've talked about this as the clock ticks the pressure builds

and of course there's pressure on the president but there's pressure on

Congress to absolutely and don't have hundreds of thousands of federal

employees who won't be collecting paychecks and their voters and their

family vote and this is something that's going to hurt American people over time

you're absolutely right and again and the answer for the president by the way

is to do an oval office address the president needs to make the case of the

American people and I don't think doing it on Twitter is enough he actually

needs to use the office of the presidency to make this very one and say

what and explain why this is so important he's been doing that since the

camp no no but he needs he needs to really position where they're at what I

mean there needs to be an older security without a wall oh come on not serious or

not it's not gonna happen we will do you have fences around your house I sure do

okay fences work we agree but the fence is not a wall and with Nancy Pelosi as

Speaker I can tell you there's not going to be a wall out well and I think

there'll be a political price to pay for that feeling with the American people I

think we will my husband and I were in Walmart and and Sam's Club you know over

the holiday and he was stopped it and he's a member of Congress as you know he

was stopped every few feet by people saying keep fighting for the wall there

was mostly Republicans no I said they don't want a wall they do shop it's a

bill keeps it alive okay I've got my card in my pocket

thank you god bless you and God bless america
