Trump news on Youtube Jan 22 2019

Donald Trump thanks government employees working without being paid during record federal shutdown - Duration: 15:49.

President Donald Trump tweeted a thank you to the federal workers who have been working without pay, while his government shutdown rages on

'To all of the great people who are working so hard for your Country and not getting paid I say, THANK YOU - YOU ARE GREAT PATRIOTS!' Trump tweeted on Saturday

'We must now work together, after decades of abuse, to finally fix the Humanitarian, Criminal & Drug Crisis at our Border

WE WILL WIN BIG!' Trump, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer remain at odds over Trump's requested $5

7billion to fund a border wall, which has delayed the passing of a spending bill that would reopen government The Republican-controlled Senate, however, could cooperate with House Democrats to bring the shutdown to an end, but Majority Leader Mitch McConnell won't allow it

After tweeting his thanks, Trump posted a message from his son, Donald Trump, Jr.which was first tweeted on Saturday

Don Jr.wrote: 'Maybe the left will one day stop trying desperately to destroy my family and especially @realDonaldTrump

Till then they will keep failing miserably while also undermining themselves and our democracy

' Before that, Trump retweeted and quote-tweeted others in praise of himself, as well as one post from First Lady Melania Trump

'A truly great First Lady who doesn't get the credit she deserves!' Trump commented, while quoting his wife, who posted, 'It has been an unforgettable two years in the @WhiteHouse

I am honored to serve this great nation! [American flag emoji].' Melanie shared the post on the second anniversary of Trump's inauguration

Trump also retweeted anniversary messages from the official White House account, Vice President Mike Pence and Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel

Pence wrote on Sunday: 'Honored to serve as @POTUS Trump's Vice President these past two years, working to deliver historic results for the American people - an economic boom, rolling back red tape, rebuilding our military & restoring American leadership on the world stage

PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT!' McDaniel wrote: 'So many accomplishments from @realDonaldTrump and his administration over the past two years!' Trump also quoted a tweet by Casino star James Woods from Saturday, thanking Woods for praising the president for a proposal to extend temporary protections for 'Dreamers,' in exchange for border wall funding

'Dreamers' are people who were brought to the US illegally as children, and were previously protected under the Obama administration's DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) initiative

Trump announced the end of DACA in September 5, 2017, but that's been legally challenged

While new applications are not currently being accepted, 'renewal applications are still being accepted for those who currently have DACA or have had DACA in the past, even if it's already expired,' according to iAmerica

org.'But things are changing quickly. So if you or someone you know is a DACA recipient and have not yet renewed their DACA status, it is important to apply for renewal now,' the site has warned

Rubio wrote: '.@POTUS offers to support two bills sponsored by Dems in exchange for Border Security & the instant reaction from Dem leaders is No

Because denying him a win on border matters more to them than paying fed workers or 3 yrs of certainty for TPS & DACA recipients

' Another retweet by Trump welcomed new senators to the Senate Budget Committee. The agencies that are affected by the shutdown right now are the Environmental Protection Agency, the IRS, and the departments of State, Housing and Urban Development; Treasury; Agriculture; Commerce; Interior; Justice; and Homeland Security, and funding for food stamps will run out in March

For now, the military (aside from the US Coast Guard) and the departments of Veterans Affairs; Labor; Education; and Health and Human Services are not impacted, as they are being funded by a spending bill that doesn't expire until September 30

US Coast Guard members were spotted on Saturday at a food back in California, where they were being provided with free groceries

A similar site could be seen in Virgina, as hundreds of volunteers and recipients gathered at the Help for Hampton Roads Coast Guard Families food drive, sponsored by the Chief Petty Officer Association, in Chesapeake, to beneit families affected by the shutdown

Republican lawmakers close to the White House have ventured a guess that it will take Transportation Security Administration employees calling out sick and leaving 'American furious about their flights' to bring an end to the stalemate, the Washington Post's Robert Costa tweeted on Tuesday

TSA closed one of three security checkpoints at the main airport in Maryland until further notice due to staffing issues created by the government shutdown

'Yesterday, TSA began exercising a contingency plan at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport due to excessive callouts,' the agency announced in a press release on Sunday

'Checkpoint A was closed at 5.35pm and will continue to be until further notice.Passengers should arrive early and check with the airport and airlines for updates

' The BWI airport said it expected 'minimal, if any' problems for passengers due to the indefinite closure of at least one checkpoint, thanks to agents missing work while they are not being paid due to the shutdown

Nationwide, TSA administrator David Pekoske has said many staff employees are calling out of work because they can't afford to get there

On Saturday, TSA experienced a national rate of eight percent of unscheduled absences compared to a three percent rate one year ago on the same day, TSA said in its statement on Sunday

'TSA officers are resilient during this time, yet there is a rise in callouts from officers who say they are not able to report to work due to financial reasons,' Pekoske tweeted on Thursday

'I understand this and where necessary, we will exercise contingency plans using the resources & staff available

' Meanwhile, the Internal Revenue Service is recalling about 46,000 of its employees furloughed by the government shutdown to handle tax returns and pay out refunds, but won't be paying the workers

With the official start of the tax filing season coming on January 28, Trump's administration has promised that taxpayers owed refunds will be paid on time, despite the disruption in government services caused by the record-breaking partial shutdown

There had been growing concern that the shutdown would delay refunds worth hundreds of billions of dollars because the money wouldn't be available for them from Congress

But last week, the administration said customary shutdown policies will be reversed to make the money available to pay refunds on time

And at least for now, it's going to take unpaid labor from 60 percent of the IRS's work force to get that ball rolling

An IRS document detailing its new shutdown plan shows that 46,052 agency employees will be called back to work, of the total workforce of 80,265, to help ensure people don't have to wait longer than expected for those checks

Only about 10,000 IRS employees had previously been deemed essential and have been working

Democrats say they will discuss border security once the government has reopened, but Pelosi is refusing money for the wall that Democrats view as ineffective and immoral

Trump and Jim Inhofe had a very meta moment over social media on Sunday. The president previously quoted Inhofe saying 'It's the Democrats keeping everything closed,' which Inhofe then quote-tweeted reaffirming the statement, and then Trump retweeted that tweet

Republicans actually could choose to work with Democrats on their own, without the president, to pass a funding bill

McConnell, one of the Republican US Senators for the state of Kentucky, has now twice blocked a bill that had had passed in the Democratic-majority-controlled House which aimed to reopened all aspects of government, this second time except for the Department of Homeland Security

McConnell has noted that he won't allow anything to come to a vote in the Senate that won't ultimately be signed into law by Trump, or that he says won't pass the Senate

'The Senate will not waste its time considering a Democratic bill, which cannot pass this chamber and which the president will not sign,' McConnell said before the Senate on January 2, a mere 12 days into the shutdown

What McConnell didn't say is that the House and Senate could override a veto by Trump on a budget bill, but it would require a two-thirds vote in both bodies

And McConnell has exclusive control over what goes to a vote on the Senate floor, under its current rules

'Under the rules of the Senate, McConnell can control which legislation reaches the floor, and he has chosen not to allow a vote on any bill that Trump would veto,' Amanda Frost, Professor of Law at American University Washington College of Law, told WUSA9's Verify team

'McConnell also refused to allow hearings or a vote on Obama's supreme court nominee

The Senate can change its rules anytime, but there is nothing unconstitutional about creating them and abiding by them

' The federal government has been partially shut down since December 22, making Monday the 31st day that approximately 800,000 federal employees have been either required to work without pay for the time being, or be furloughed

Congress has already passed a bill that guarantees that federal workers who are still showing up to their jobs without pay will be paid for their work once the shutdown ends

The previous longest-lasting government shutdown in history happened at the end of 1995 and beginning of 1996, lasting 21 days under President Bill Clinton

Bernie Sanders calls Trump a 'racist' at MLK event in South Carolina - Daily News - Duration: 6:43.

Sen. Bernie Sanders forcefully denounced President Trump as a 'racist' on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in South Carolina, a crucial presidential primary state.

Attending remarks at an NAACP event in the Palmetto State's capitol, Sanders said: 'Today we talk about justice and today we talk about racism, and I must tell you it gives me no pleasure to tell you that we now have a president of the United States who is a racist.'

Sanders said that 'a president is supposed to do is to bring us together,' yet Trump is 'trying to divide us up by the color of our skin, by our gender, by the country that we came from, by our religion.'

His description of Trump as a racist was included prepared remarks that derided Trump for his connection to the birther movement. However, Sanders did not levy the attack as written.

. .

Neither man has formed an exploratory committee or ruled out a national campaign.

The independent senator who nearly defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 contest for the Democratic nomination is widely expected to try for the White House again, even though this race would pit him against progressive allies like Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

In addition to making remarks at the NAACP event, he and Booker participated in a march and attended a prayer service on Monday in Columbia.

Other possible 2020 contenders also appeared at MLK Day events around the country.

They delivered remarks at the annual event alongside King's son, Martin Luther King, III, on Monday morning.

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren spoke at an MLK Day event in Boston.

California Sen. Kamala Harris used the federal holiday to launch her presidential bid. The senator of Indian and Jamaican descent launched her bid on 'Good Morning America' and a press conference at Howard University, a historically black college in Washington.

President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence meanwhile held a wreath-laying ceremony at the base of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C. on Monday during a brief visit, as Americans marked the anniversary of the civil rights leader's birth.

Official White House schedules for the day, published Sunday night, said Trump and Pence had 'no public events scheduled' on the national holiday.

But shortly after 11:00 a.m, both leaders headed to the imposing stone memorial on the banks of Washington's tidal basin near the National Mall.

Temperatures in Washington dipped into the low teens on Monday, with wind chills as low as 2 degrees. Trump and Pence observed a moment of silence at the monument before they departed, spending two minutes at the site from start to finish.

'Good morning, everybody. Great day. Beautiful day,' President Trump said. 'Thank you for being here. Appreciate it.'

The Rev. Al Sharpton had complained hours earlier that Trump's White House appeared to be ignoring the holiday.

'There is no official event at the White House to celebrate Martin Luther King Day,' he said during a breakfast event for his National Action Network, attended by former Vice President Joe Biden, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Martin Luther King III.

'This is an insult to the American people that the president of the United States does not officially recognize or give any ceremony for Dr. King,' Sharpton complained.

The president issued a proclamation honoring King, tweeting a link to it with the message: 'Today we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for standing up for the self-evident truth Americans hold so dear, that no matter what the color of our skin or the place of our birth, we are all created equal by God. #MLKDay.'

First lady Melania Trump, last known to be at her husband's resort in Florida, also sent out a tweet honoring the civil rights leader.

She wrote: 'Today we honor the life and legacy of #MartinLutherKingJr #MLKDay.'

The president did not mention the leader at his surprise stop at the outdoor memorial on Monday nor did he comment on the standoff with Democrats that's fueled a partial government shutdown for the past month,

Trump announced a new strategy to end it in a national address on Saturday afternoon. He has not commented on camera about it since, although the vice president has spoken to reporters and participated in a lengthy televised interview on the subject on Sunday.

Trump and Pence visited the MLK monument together with the acting interior secretary on Monday morning.

The president said in a tweet afterward that it was his 'great honor' to visit the memorial honoring the African-American leader. He attached a 24-second video of his brief visit to the message.

White House Press secretary Sarah Sanders also tweeted about MLK Day Monday morning.

'Today we honor a great American who gave his life to right the wrong of racial inequality. Our country is better thanks to his inspiration and sacrifice #MLKDay,' she wrote.

Trump Is Withdrawing From NATO "Under Putin's Orders" (Ruslan Ostashko) - Duration: 5:41.

Trump Is Withdrawing From NATO Under Putin's Orders

"Trump is discussing withdrawal from NATO," says the frightening American headline in The New York Times.

No, so far it didn't say "from Putin's orders", but Russia, of course, is mentioned.

It seems that the Democrats have invented a new horror story for the American electorate.

This is exactly how it can be interpreted through a serious publication on the topic of how

the US President is discussing the country's withdrawal from the NATO bloc the US itself created.

In the first sentence... not even the full sentence, but in the first ten words,

if we count the beginning text of the publication, they mention...

Putin.

I think you understand in which tone.

There are few things that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia desires more than the weakening of NATO,

the military alliance among the United States, Europe and Canada that has deterred Soviet and Russian aggression for 70 years.

Last year, President Trump suggested a move tantamount to destroying NATO: the withdrawal of the United States."

In this "insider", the newspaper refers to unnamed "high-ranking officials of the administration",

who reported on several statements about the withdrawal from NATO made by Trump in private conversations in 2018.

After numerous references to the actions of the head of the United States, aimed at knocking out defense expenditures from European vassals,

The New York Times bluntly writes:

"The president's repeatedly stated desire to leave NATO is raising new worries among national security officials

amid growing concern about Mr. Trump's efforts to keep his meetings with Mr. Putin secret even from his own aides,

and an FBI investigation into the administration's Russia ties."

Bingo, basically. Trump's communication with the Kremlin can be considered proven.

In fact, of course, the actions of the head of the White House are fully explained by domestic political and psychological motives.

My friend and colleague Ivan Danilov remarked on this issue that Trump behaves exactly the same as he did when concluding his business deals.

"The negotiating position of the American leader boils down to the following principle, which he honed since his work in the field of New York real estate:

Trump has to receive all (that's all) possible benefits, otherwise the transaction will not take place,

despite all the likely losses for Trump himself.

Such a cowboy approach can sometimes work in business, when you can again and again move away from deals,

hoping to eventually find a weak partner, investor or client who can be bent to the fullest.

In geopolitics, such an approach does not work - the planet is too small, and weak-minded fools among planetary and even regional politicians is very small.

There exists a serious likelihood that such an uncompromising and, if you call things by their real name,

this goon approach will ultimately lead to NATO's actual collapse,

from one side, Germany and France are working hard to create a "European army",

but the President of the United States may in actuality decide that the best way to solve a problem is to loudly slam the door."

Yes, Trump's psychology can't be discounted.

But the matter, I believe, is not only in it.

It's important to not forget what kind of power group represents the head of the USA.

These are isolationists from among the tycoons attached to real production.

They do not need all these American bases scattered around the planet.

Because these bases are devouring resources and giving support to the opponents of isolationists - the globalists.

The best way to undermine the position of globalists is to deprive them of the opportunity to interfere in the affairs of other states.

No, the isolationists themselves don't mind robbing someone, but now they see that the USA has been weakened, and the robbery has ceased to succeed.

And that means - they need to abandon it, at least for a while.

Refuse it in order to save money and regain strength. That is, globalists want to play the old way, raising interest rates on borrowed money from the Federal Reserve System.

The isolationists however understand that there is no place to inflate the stakes further - you can even lose everything.

This is where Trump's tough position on the EU arises: either give billions to defense -

that is, pay for the maintenance of NATO's military machine in Europe, or walk into the forest.

The European Union clearly demonstrates that it is not planning to pay. And that is why the US withdrawal from NATO is a very real perspective.

No, this is not "orders from Putin."

Yes, it is beneficial to Russia. But it is also beneficial to the USA themselves.

But not for the fattened from two world wars, global America which as a result rattled the Middle East and overstrained itself.

But the one inhabited by the notorious rednecks, residents of the American heartland.

They don't need these wars, because from there they send home coffins wrapped with stars and striped flags,

as well as disabled people placed on painkillers.

Basically, ready drug addicts.

And they need them to work again in the factories of General Motors and Ford,

so that American companies do not destroy jobs in the interests of global business and stuff like that.

That is, the interests of the isolationist Trump and his "support group" in this completely coincide with the interests of ordinary Republican voters.

I suspect that they are not against putting up the "iron curtain" and building walls - and not only with Mexico, but also with Canada as well.

Do they need this NATO hanging weight on their leg?

They don't. But the blame on why America has screwed up in its aggressive foreign policy,

is of course, as you know, because of Putin.

For infantile people, there is always someone else who is guilty, but only not themselves.

EXCLUSIVE: What the FBI Did After Trump Fired Comey - Duration: 7:11.

Today on Declassified an Epoch Times exclusive:

McCabe's FBI Tried to Re-engage Christopher Steele After Comey Was Fired.

That's right, Transcripts of congressional testimony by DOJ official Bruce Ohr shows

how the FBI went back to the disgraced source between Comey's firing and Mueller's appointment.

This article by Epoch Times contributor Jeff Carlson.

Just before we start Please feel free to subscribe,

like and hit the notifications button.

Ok so, In the days following the firing of FBI Director James Comey by President Donald Trump,

the FBI, under Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe,

sought to re-engage with former MI6 spy and author of the Steele dossier, Christopher Steele.

The FBI's attempts to re-engage Steele,

who had been fired by the FBI six months earlier for breaking protocol by talking to reporters,

were soon thwarted by the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller.

McCabe appears to have been blindsided by the appointment of Mueller,

who was appointed as special counsel on May 17, 2017,

the day after a meeting with Trump and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in the oval office.

The appointment of Mueller shifted control of the Russia investigation from the FBI and McCabe to Mueller.

Rosenstein would retain ultimate authority over the probe,

and any expansion of Mueller's investigation required authorization from Rosenstein.

McCabe had been a key player in the FBI's counterintelligence investigation of the Trump presidential campaign,

which relied heavily on information provided by Steele.

The FBI also obtained a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) spy warrant

on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page using the information.

Former Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr served as a key conduit in transferring information from Steele,

both before and after the FBI terminated Steele,

along with information from Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson.

On Aug. 28, 2018, testimony before Congress by Ohr,

which was reviewed for this article,

sheds new light on McCabe's involvement in the investigation.

His testimony also illustrates how Steele and Simpson passed their information targeting Trump to the FBI,

using Ohr as an unofficial back-channel.

Ohr, per his testimony, reported directly to then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates.

Prior to a series of demotions that occurred in December 2017 and January 2018,

Ohr held two titles: associate deputy attorney general

and director of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.

Ohr testified that he had known Steele since 2007,

when they met during an "official meeting" while Steele was still employed by the British government.

After that, they maintained contact approximately "once a year."

Ohr had also "met Mr. Simpson on various occasions over the years" and his wife,

Nellie Ohr, had also known Simpson for "several years."

A 2010 report by the National Institute of Justice listed the three as participants in a paper.

Nellie Ohr, who would join Fusion GPS in late 2015 as a Russia analyst,

was listed in the report as working for the CIA's Open Source Works as a researcher.

On July 30, 2016,

Bruce and Nellie Ohr met with Steele and an unknown associate of Steele's.

Almost immediately, Ohr would initiate a meeting with FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe

to detail his conversation with Steele.

Also present at the meeting was McCabe's counsel, FBI lawyer Lisa Page,

who would play a key role in the counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign.

Shortly thereafter, on Aug. 15, 2016,

FBI agent Peter Strzok would send the now-infamous "insurance policy" text referencing McCabe to Page.

Later that same month,

the FBI suddenly reached out to Steele asking for the information in his possession.

Ohr would also meet with Simpson on or around Aug. 22, 2016.

At that point, Ohr says in his testimony,

he was aware that his wife was working for Simpson's company as a contractor,

that Steele worked for Fusion GPS as well,

and that there were ties to the Democrats and Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign.

Ohr would have another meeting with Steele on Sept. 23, 2016,

and would also meet either that same month or early October with Strzok, Page,

and Justice Department (DOJ) career officials from the criminal division,

Bruce Swartz, Zainab Ahmad, and Andrew Weissman

(Ohr testified that he was unsure whether Weismann was at this or a later meeting).

Sometime in late 2016,

Nellie Ohr provided her husband with a memory stick containing the research

she compiled while employed at Fusion GPS.

Bruce Ohr testified he gave the memory stick to FBI agent Joe Pientka.

Nellie Ohr had left Fusion in September 2016.

Steele was terminated as a source by the FBI on Nov. 1, 2016,

for communicating with the media.

Despite this, Bruce Ohr and Steele communicated regularly for another full year,

until November 2017.

Ohr relayed all these communications with Steele to the FBI through Pientka and possibly two other handlers.

On Nov. 21, 2016,

Ohr had a meeting with Strzok and Page and was introduced to Pientka,

who became Ohr's FBI handler.

Pientka was also present with Strzok during the Jan. 24, 2017,

interview of Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

The next day, Nov. 22, 2016, Ohr met alone with Pientka.

Ohr would continue to relay his communications with Steele to Pientka,

who then recorded them in FD-302 forms.

During a meeting on Dec. 10, 2016, Ohr met with Simpson,

who gave him a memory stick that Ohr believed contained the Steele dossier.

Ohr passed the memory stick to Pientka.

Ohr, in his testimony, detailed his interactions with Steele and Simpson,

as well as his communications with officials at the FBI and DOJ.

Notably, Ohr repeatedly stated that he never vetted any of the information provided by either Steele or Simpson.

He simply turned it over or relayed it to the FBI—usually to Pientka.

What Ohr didn't know was that Pientka was transmitting all the information directly to Strzok.

If you would like to read the full details of Ohr's testimony,

including parts of his transcript, the link to the article,

Under Trump, EPA Has Basically Stopped Prosecuting Corporations Who Poison Americans - Duration: 3:56.

Today we reflect upon the legacy and life of Dr Martin Luther King Jr, and what we have

to realize when we look back at at his accomplishments, how he furthered civil rights in this country

was the pioneer that really lead a new generation here.

What we have to understand is that racism, unfortunately in the United States today is

still alive and well and I'm not just talking about the racism that we see every day.

We see it coming out of the administration.

We see it coming out of his followers.

We see it in our day to day lives when I'm talking about is the racism that nobody is

really talking about right now, and this is one that affects the lives and livelihoods

of countless people of color here in the United States and that is environmental racism.

Recently a new report came out showing that St James Parish in Louisiana is absolutely

one of the worst cases of environmental racism here in the United States today.

Population 221,000, roughly 85 percent of that non white residents and recently what

they've done is they have designated this area where nearly a quarter of a million people

live as an industrial site, and what that means is that this area that's already known

as cancer alley, because of the amount of petrochemicals that get dumped into the, uh,

environment in that area, they want more.

They want to dump more corporate toxins into this area that is predominantly African American.

Stories like this play themselves out every single year here in the United States.

It is true that industrial pollution effects people of color in the United States to a

greater degree than it affects average white citizens.

That is a fact.

We have corporations aided and embedded by state and local governments and even the federal

government who specifically target communities of color to become their new dumping grounds.

We are sentencing people in this country to an early death just because of where they

live.

That's been the emo of corporate America for decades now.

They don't want to dump their toxic chemicals in wealthy neighborhoods.

They don't want to dump them in white neighborhoods if they can avoid it, but they will if they

have to, so they specifically target out poor communities of color and that's what's happening

down in St James Parish and countless areas all over this country today and that is what

we call environmental racism.

They figured these people either are too poor to uneducated to know what's actually happening.

They know that these people won't necessarily fight back and because they're targeting a

community that seems to be forgotten.

There's not gonna be any lawyer swooping in to save the day for these people, but that's

where they're wrong because it happens every time and unfortunately without the government

stepping in.

In fact, as I mentioned, the government is torn making this worse.

It's up to the trial lawyers.

It's up to the people who are willing to go out there and fight back against these corporations.

It's up to the leaders in the community to speak out against it, which is exactly what

is happening in St James Parish right now.

These people are showing up at town halls.

They're showing up at meetings of the powerful demanding answers as to why their city, their

parish has become the new dumping grounds for corporate America, and in that regard,

the spirit of Dr Martin Luther King Jr does live on.

He is inspired us and he is inspiring those people who are still the victims of this disgusting

form of racism to continue to fight back, to never sit there and just accept that they

have become the Guinea pigs for corporate America's toxins.

They're fighting back and we have to join them in this fight or else we are complicit

in what's happening to these communities.

We see it in our day to day lives when I'm talking about is the racism that nobody is

really talking about right now, and

this is one that affects the lives and livelihoods of countless people of color here in the United

States and that is environmental racism.

HAPPY MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY, IN WHICH WE HONOR DR. KING'S DREAM:

50% OFF AT NORDSTROM'S.

( LAUGHTER ) I JUST WANT TO START OFF TONIGHT

"DID Y'ALL SEE THE GAMES LAST NIGHT?"

THERE'S NO WAY HE DIDN'T SAY THAT AT SOME POINT.

HE HAD TO HAVE.

>> Jon: AT SOME POINT ABOUT SOME GAME.

>> Stephen: I'LL SAY ONE THING ABOUT THE GAME LAST NIGHT, I

KNOW I SEEM LIKE A JOCK -- ( LAUGHTER )

THAT GOT A QUICKER LAUGH THAN I HOPED.

( LAUGHTER ) BUT I DIDN'T

SEE THE GAMES LAST NIGHT AND I STILL KIND OF SAW THE GAMES LAST

NIGHT BECAUSE THE NUMBER OF TIMES I'VE SEEN THIS, SAINTS

RECEIVER OPEN IN THE RED ZONE.

ANNNNND BLAMMO!

RAMS DEFENDER LAYS HIM OUT!

BLATANT PASS INTERFERENCE I HAVE BEEN TOLD.

>> Jon: WHERE WAS THE REF?

>> Stephen: WHERE WAS THE REF, I HAVE BEEN TOLD TO SAY?

( LAUGHTER ) I HAVE BEEN ASSURED THAT'S THE

THING YOU YELL AT THIS SITUATION.

>> Jon: YEAH.

>> Stephen: JOHN, HELMET TO HELMET.

>> Jon: RIGHT.

YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT.

>> Stephen: NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT.

THAT'S WHAT I WAS TOLD.

( LAUGHTER ) HAD THE REF THROWN THE FLAG,

GAME OVER, SAINTS GO TO THE SUPER BOWL, NEW ORLEANS IS ONE

GIANT PARTY.

>> Jon: YEAH.

>> Stephen: BUT -- BUT THE REF DIDN'T.

( LAUGHTER ) THAT'S WHAT OLD MAN WENTER IS

DOING RIGHT NOW.

THIS WEEKEND IT WAS LIKE 48 DEGREES JUST LIKE YESTERDAY.

>> Jon: YEAH.

>> Stephen: AND WE'RE ALL MINDING OUR BUSINESS LIKE A

SAINTS RECEIVER, THEN OUT OF NOWHERE A COLD FRONT SWEEPS IN,

BLAMO!

>> Jon: OH, NO!

>> Stephen: A WEATHER METAPHOR THIS TIME.

>> Jon: I LIKE THAT.

I LOVE FOOTBALL.

SUPER BOWL'S ON CBS.

( LAUGHTER ) SPEAKING OF THINGS THAT MAKE YOU

SCREAM AT YOUR TV: DONALD TRUMP.

( LAUGHTER ) IT IS DAY 31 OF THE TRUMP

SHUTDOWN.

EASY TO REMEMBER: "30 DAYS HATH SEPTEMBER, APRIL, JUNE, AND

NOVEMBER.

AND IF ALL THE MONEY HATH BEEN SPENT, JANUARY HAS NO

GOVERNMENT."

( LAUGHTER ) ( PIANO RIFF )

THAT'S HOW IT GOES.

800,000 GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES HAVE EITHER BEEN FURLOUGHED OR

FORCED TO WORK WITHOUT PAY, TRUMP HASN'T FORGOTTEN THEM,

TWEETING, "TO ALL OF THE GREAT PEOPLE WHO ARE WORKING SO

HARD FOR YOUR COUNTRY AND NOT GETTING PAID I SAY, THANK YOU -

YOU ARE GREAT PATRIOTS!" THEY'RE NOT VOLUNTEERING TO WORK

FOR FREE.

( LAUGHTER ) YOU MADE THEM BY SHUTTING DOWN

THE GOVERNMENT.

YOU MIGHT AS WELL HAVE TWEETED, "THANK YOU, GREAT

PATRIOTS.

PLEASE ACCEPT THIS TWEET IN LIEU OF PAYCHECK.

QUICK TIP: TELL YOUR LANDLORD MEXICO'S GOING TO PAY YOUR

RENT."

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) >> Jon: NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

>> Stephen: HELMET TO HELMET.

>> Jon: HELMET TO HELMET!

>> Stephen: ON SATURDAY, TRUMP WENT ON THE TV AND HE MADE AN

OFFER THAT HE WAS SURE EVERYONE WOULD LOVE.

>> BY INCORPORATING THE PRIORITIES OF RANK-AND-FILE

DEMOCRATS IN OUR PLAN, WE HOPE THEY WILL OFFER THEIR

ENTHUSIASTIC SUPPORT.

AND I THINK MANY WILL.

THIS IS A COMMONSENSE COMPROMISE BOTH PARTIES SHOULD

EMBRACE.

>> STEPHEN: A WORD OF WARNING TO RANK-AND-FILE DEMOCRATS: TRUMP'S

EMBRACE CAN BE KIND OF AWKWARD.

( LAUGHTER ) >> Jon: I DON'T KNOW ABOUT

THAT EMBRACE.

HE -- ( PIANO RIFF )

>> Stephen: SPECIFICALLY, IN EXCHANGE FOR THE BORDER WALL,

"TRUMP OFFERED TO RESTORE DACA AND T.P.S.

PROTECTIONS FOR THREE YEARS."

WHICH IS A WEIRD OFFER SINCE THEY'RE PROTECTIONS THAT HE

HIMSELF TOOK AWAY.

"OKAY, HERE'S THE OFFER: YOU KNOW THOSE TWO HOSTAGES I TOOK?

GIVE ME THE CASH AND I'LL GIVE YOU THE HOSTAGES... TEMPORARILY

THEN I GET THEM BACK."

( LAUGHTER ) DEMOCRATS SOMEHOW DIDN'T FALL

FOR IT.

( LAUGHTER ) ( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE )

>> Jon: COME ON, NOW!

>> Stephen: HOW DID THEY NOT?

( LAUGHTER ) SO YOU WANT TO RUB THE STEAK

SAUCE ON MY OWN HEAD AND I PUT MY OWN HEAD IN THE ALLIGATOR'S

MOUTH.

NO THANK YOU.

( LAUGHTER ) IN FACT, SPEAKER PELOSI REJECTED

THE DEAL BEFORE THE PRESIDENT EVEN ANNOUNCED IT.

SHE SAID "NO" BEFORE TRUMP EVEN ASKED.

A MOVE KNOWN IN WASHINGTON AS "THE MELANIA."

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) NOT EVERYONE IMMEDIATELY

REJECTED THE PRESIDENT'S PROPOSAL, AND TRUMP MADE SURE

WE KNEW IT.

ON SUNDAY, HE RETWEETED 14 LAWMAKERS, ALL OF WHOM WERE

GUSHING OVER HIS AMAZING OFFER.

THEY'RE BASICALLY PAID AUDIENCE MEMBERS IN AN INFOMERCIAL.

♪ ♪

"SO YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT TRUMP'S PLAN ENDS THE SHUTDOWN

SECURES THE BORDER, AND MAKES THE FRESHEST GUACAMOLE I'LL EVER

TASTE?

MMM!

MMM!

MMM!

( LAUGHTER ) ( APPLAUSE )

( CHEERING ) ALL FOR ONE EASY PAYMENT OF

$5.7 BILLION?

I'M CALLING NOW!" I THINK THAT CHIP HAD SOFTENED

UP A LITTLE BIT IN THERE.

( LAUGHTER ) TO HELP MAKE HIS CASE, TRUMP

EVEN WOKE UP VICE PRESIDENT AND MAN WISHING THE DOGS AT THE DOG

PARK WOULD PUT ON SOME DAMN PANTS, MIKE PENCE.

PENCE WENT ON "FACE THE NATION" THE DAY BEFORE MARTIN LUTHER

KING DAY TO MAKE THIS VERY TASTEFUL COMPARISON --

>> ONE OF MY FAVORITE QUOTES FROM DOCTOR KING WAS, "NOW IS

THE TIME TO MAKE REAL THE PROMISES OF DEMOCRACY.

YOU THINK OF HOW HE CHANGED AMERICA.

HE INSPIRED US TO CHANGE THROUGH THE LEGISLATIVE PROCESS TO

BECOME A MORE PERFECT UNION.

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT PRESIDENT TRUMP IS CALLING ON THE CONGRESS

TO DO ( AUDIENCE REACTS )

>> Stephen: MIKE, ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT US TO JUDGE TRUMP

ON THE CONTENT OF HIS CHARACTER?

HE PUTS A LOT OF EFFORT INTO THE COLOR OF HIS SKIN, WHATEVER THAT

IS.

( LAUGHTER ) ( APPLAUSE )

BEACHED JELLYFISH.

UNCOOKED CALAMARI.

ALSO, M.L.K. WEIGHED IN ON BORDER WALLS WHEN HE VISITED

EAST BERLIN AND SAID: "FOR HERE ON EITHER SIDE OF THE WALL ARE

GOD'S CHILDREN AND NO MAN-MADE BARRIER CAN OBLITERATE THAT

FACT."

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) >> Jon: COME ON!

YES!

YES!

>> Stephen: THAT'S LOVELY.

TO WHICH TRUMP REPLIED, "HE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT STEEL

SLATS.

PLUS, WALLS WORK.

YOU NEVER SEE A MEXICAN IN WEST GERMANY."
