Trump news on Youtube Nov 27 2018

Trump's Trade Wars, Corporate Greed Just Cost U.S. Another 15,000 Jobs - Duration: 3:22.

On Monday it was announced the General Motors is going to be closing at least five plants

across North America for here in the United States, one in Canada, in slashing upwards

of 15,000 jobs, 15,000 jobs.

They're cutting 15 percent of their entire workforce here in North America because according

to the company, Donald Trump's trade wars have just made the cost of us steel and other

things needed to make cars.

They're just too expensive and we've got to cut staff.

We've got to cut salaried employees who have great benefits.

We have to get rid of them because Donald Trump's trade wars have made the cost of our

raw materials too expensive to turn enough of a profit.

That's only partially true.

Yes, Donald Trump's trade wars are harming the automobile industry.

They're harming a lot of industries here in the United States.

Farming is tanking right now because of these trade wars, so there is a little bit of truth

to that.

The other side of it that GM is not talking about is plain old corporate greed.

That's what's really behind this decision to cut 15,000 people right here at the holiday

time because you see General Motors so profitable that they got $514 million dollars from the

uh, Republican tax cut that was passed last year, 514 million in additional savings because

of that tax cut on top of that over the last few years they've actually gotten $50 billion

dollars from the US government to make sure that they keep running.

It was part of the auto industry bailout and subsequent bailouts that happened after that

$50 billion dollars.

So yeah, I understand that trump's trade wars are hurting you.

It's making the cost of raw goods go up, but you're already passing those costs along to

the consumers.

You're not technically paying that we are and now 15,000 workers in North America are

paying for it with their jobs because you don't want to be honest about what's actually

happening.

Yeah, it's super easy to blame trump for a lot of things.

And I understand.

Again, part of it isn't his fault, but most of it is corporate greed.

Most of it is the fact that your CEO and your shareholders want more money in their pockets

and they don't care how many thousands of lives they ruined in the process of putting

that money in their pockets.

The government is bailed you out countless times again to the tune of $50,000,000,000

and that's still not good enough for you.

General Motors, this is capitalism here in the United States, folks, it doesn't exist.

Know the free market, the doesn't exist.

The invisible hand of the government is actually a tight grip from corporations on the government.

Corporations are calling the shots.

GM goes and says, I want to bail out, and they get it.

They say, we're going to lay off 15,000 workers after you gave us 514 million in tax cuts

and there's nothing you can do about it, and they're 100 percent right?

Because corporations like gm and to many others in this country have absolutely overtaken

our government to the point where our elected officials, at least the ones in office right

now, are 100 percent.

The puppets of corporations like GM.

Federal Judge Smacks Down Trump's Attempt To Ban Asylum Seekers - Duration: 4:18.

On, I believe it was November eighth, Donald Trump announced that we were no longer taking

in any asylum seekers to the United States.

Nobody could come into this country seeking asylum.

Last week, a federal judge ruled that, yes, yes, they can because Donald Trump does not

have the authority to ban asylum seekers from coming into the United States, and the reason

that Donald Trump does not have the authority to ban asylum seekers according to the judge's

ruling, is that it was an act of Congress that approved the asylum program.

In fact, there've been three different laws from Congress, I think, dating back to the

early 19 fifties all the way through the nineties that mentioned refugees, asylum seekers, things

like that that we have to let them in or we have to have a process by which they can come

into the United States.

All three of those at least, were approved by Congress and signed by the sitting president

for Donald trump to come out in end of the program.

That would be a president overriding an act of Congress, which he does not have the authority

to do.

That's the issue here.

That's what the judge ruled on and she said, no, you cannot do this.

This is not within your realm of presidential powers.

Here's the problem with this.

First and foremost, we know that the trump administration is not listening to the judge.

Instead of allowing asylum seekers to come in, we're shooting them with tear gas.

Seeking asylum is not illegal.

It is not a crime.

Hell, even crossing the border illegally is not a federal crime.

It's a misdemeanor, and yet the Donald Trump administration is treating these people as

if they are already convicted felons by denying them asylum.

So according to this judge, the asylum process has to be put back in place and then I think

around December 19th, they're going to have another hearing to decide whether or not she

has to permanently put a ban on trump's asylum ban in place.

The administration has said they're going to appeal this particular ruling and here's

what could possibly happen.

Either it goes all the way to the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court says, no, Mr Trump,

you cannot override an act of Congress.

You can't ban asylum seekers.

That's the best case scenario.

Another possible scenario if that happens, is that trump could say, okay, I can't ban

people from seeking asylum, but I do have the authority to set the number, so I'm setting

the number each year at one one person.

That's it.

Unfortunately, he does have the authority to do that.

He's already lowered the number since he came into office.

It has lowered a, I think by about 20 to 30,000 people from last year to this year and that's

what he could do.

The even worse scenario is if the Supreme Court hears this case and comes back and says,

yes, Mr. President, you have the authority to override an act of Congress.

That's going be the most damaging thing to ever happen to the United States of America.

It will give Donald Trump a blank check to override any particular thing that he wants

to do and not just trump.

We're talking about any president down the line.

I mean the very role, the limitation of powers of the US president could potentially go in

front of this conservative majority Supreme Court.

That's not gonna end well for anyone left or right, because eventually republicans aren't

gonna have power anymore.

Then what happens when you get a democratic person in there who says, I'm going to override

these acts of Congress.

I don't like this.

I'm going to do whatever the hell I want because the supreme court has said, we can act like

many dictators for the next four years.

That's not how this government is supposed to function.

That's not how it was designed and trump keeps pushing the envelope because he knows he's

packed the courts enough to where eventually this is going to come before a judge that

he likes, that he appointed.

That's going to rule in his favor.

That's what's at stake with this particular ruling.

So Kudos to the judge who put a temporary stop the trumps asylum band, but I hope everybody

understands the bigger implications.

If the administration appeals this all the way to the supreme court.

Trump Contradicts His Own Administration's Climate Change Report | The Daily Show - Duration: 4:57.

If you were anywhere, uh, on the East Coast

during Thanksgiving, you would know that it got so damn cold.

Like, it was freezing. It was so cold

that your turkey refused to come out of the oven.

You're like, "It's time." Turkey was like,

"Ten more minutes, ten more minutes, ten more minutes."

And because of that, some of you might have been thinking,

"Whatever happened to global warming?"

Well, on Friday, the U.S. government told us.

A new government report says manmade climate change

is already wreaking havoc on the U.S.

13 federal agencies warn of more destructive western wildfires,

longer heat waves in the southeast

and more powerful Atlantic hurricanes.

It says climate change could shrink the U.S. economy

by hundreds of billions of dollars

by the end of the century.

I love how America always thinks

about everything in economic terms.

Like, even when they talk about the end of the world,

they say, "Climate change is gonna kill everybody,

and that's gonna cost us, like, a billion dollars."

(laughter)

But this is big news. 13 agencies,

all part of the Trump administration,

have released an official report saying

that manmade climate change is not only real,

but its effects are already here. Yeah, already here.

It's like in the movies when someone screams,

"Close the door! We're all gonna die!"

And then, the friend turns, and they're bleeding,

and they're like, "We're already dead."

And he's like, "No. You're already dead. I'm out."

So, if the Trump administration said

that manmade climate change is happening, then surely,

the Trump of the administration will finally come on board.

But this is what the president said

when asked what he thinks of the report.

I've seen it, uh, I've read some of it, and it's fine.

Yeah. I don't believe it.

-MAN: You don't believe it? -No. No, I don't believe it.

You don't believe it?

You don't...? How?

"Fine"? How?

How can one man possess all the stupidity of mankind?

(laughter)

It's like they edited his genes

to give him superhuman stupidity.

Like, the scientists in the lab were like,

"Well, should we give him superhuman strength?"

They're like, "Oh, that's dangerous to society.

"No, no, no, no, no. Let's make him really stupid.

What's the worst that could happen?"

The president of the United States is throwing away

four years of scientific work

which is endorsed by his own administration.

The question is, what possible reason

would thousands of scientists have

to lie about climate change?

Well, former senator Rick Santorum has a theory

which he shared on CNN this weekend.

If there was no climate change,

we'd have a lot of scientists looking for work.

Uh, the reality is that...

that a lot of these scientists are driven

by the money that they receive.

And of course, they don't receive money from corporations

and Exxon and the like. Why?

Because they're not allowed to, because it's tainted.

But they can receive it from people who have...

who support their agenda.

Of course. How did we miss it?

Climate change is just a scam!

It's a scam by scientists trying to get rich.

We should have known when we saw them balling

in those Gucci lab coats with the diamond-encrusted beakers.

Making it rain test tubes in the club.

Ow-ow-ow, ow-ow-ow, ow-ow.

Oh, and it wasn't just Rick Santorum.

After this report came out, right,

American news was littered with climate change buffoons.

And one of my favorites was this woman NBC brought on

to drop this gem.

We need to also recognize

that we just had two of the coldest years,

the biggest drop in global temperatures

that we've had since the 1980s,

the biggest in the last hundred years.

From the standpoint of those who have doubts about this...

And I-I don't think we can have any doubts

that there is climate change.

Whether it's anthropogenic, I don't know.

I'm not a scientist. I-I look at this as a citizen.

Uh, okay, once you say "I'm not a scientist,"

why is anyone listening to your scientific opinion?

"I look at this as a citizen."

Well, get the (bleep) out of here

with your opinions as a citizen.

Like, where else would we accept this shit?

You tell me now. Where else would we accept this?

If someone told me, "Hey, Trevor, these test results say

"that you have cancer, but I'm not a doctor.

I think you're fine," trust me, I would not be like,

"Oh, you're not a doctor? No, no. Carry on, Carry on.

Yeah, tell me your thoughts on my health."

And here's the thing. I can play clips

from the news like this forever. But why?

Why can I play clips like this forever?

Why does the news keep bringing on non-scientists

to argue against science?

I mean, CNN pays Rick Santorum to come on and talk that shit.

This woman's group has gotten funding from oil companies.

So why is the news having these climate-deniers on?

Like, why would you do that?

Because think of it. Think of it this way.

When Maury Povich brings someone on,

if the DNA test says you are the father, then that's it.

The science has spoken.

He doesn't go, "All right, we've done the DNA test,

but in your opinion, Lavar, why are you not the father?"

Because he knows dudes would be like,

"Well, first of all, 'cause it's expensive,

"and second of all, look at that baby's hair!

That's ain't my shit."

So all I'm saying is, American news,

maybe you should respect science as much as Maury Povich does.
