Trump news on Youtube Nov 18 2018

With the death toll from California's wildfire at more than 70 and 1,000 still unaccounted for, President Trump on Saturday will tour the devastation and meet with state leaders

Trump was expected to tour fire-ravaged areas in and around the community of Paradise in Northern California early Saturday before arriving in Southern California in the afternoon

The Camp and Woolsey fires combined have burned more than 250,000 acres and destroyed more than 10,000 structures

Advertisement  "Many more people are missing than anyone thought possible," Trump said before departing for California

"I wanna be with the firefighters and the FEMA first responders."  The visit will be both a presidential and political moment for Trump, who regularly criticizes the deep blue state and is highly unpopular here

Trump was roundly criticized last week for erroneously blaming the fires on poor forest management and threatening to cut off funding to California

But in recent days, the president has offered more conciliatory comments about the wildfires, saying Tuesday "we mourn for the lives lost and we pray for the victims of the California wildfires

" Gov. Jerry Brown on Friday pledged to work with Trump to help California and will meet with the president along with Gov

-elect Gavin Newsom, who, like Brown, has argued that climate change has worsened the fire toll in California

"Now is the time to pull together for the people of California," Brown said Twitter Friday

Trump responded on Twitter: "Thank you @JerryBrownGov. Look forward to joining you and @GavinNewsom tomorrow in California

We are with you!"  In an interview on Fox News, Trump said climate change might have contributed to the fires but maintained that forest management policies must change

"Maybe it contributes a little bit,"he said of climate change. "The big problem we have is management…

You need forest management, it has to be, I'm not saying that in a negative way. I'm just saying the facts, and I've really learned a lot

"  Trump told Fox he saw firefighters removing dry brush from the fire scenes. "This should have been all raked out," he said

In Butte County, eight more bodies were found Friday, and the number of people unaccounted for jumped from 631 to 1,011 as authorities continued to comb through 911 calls, emails and other reports of missing people

Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea said, however, that the list of the missing is dynamic and may include people who were counted twice, whose names were misspelled or who may not know they were reported missing

The Camp fire, already the state's worst fire on record, has burned 146,000 acres and destroyed 12,263 structures

Officials said it could take weeks to complete the search for victims and identify them

Thousands of residents are without homes and living in shelters and tent cities.  The Woolsey fire in Southern California burned more than 500 structures and killed three people

This will be just Trump's second visit to the nation's most populous state since his election

His first California visit, which he made in March to inspect border wall prototypes in the San Diego area and to attend a fundraiser in the Beverly Park home of Edward Glazer, the co-chairman of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers professional football team, came later in his term than for any White House occupant since Franklin D

Roosevelt.  Trump has had a particularly combative relationship with California, over environmental, immigration and other policies

The state's Democratic leaders, including Gov. Jerry Brown, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, Rep

Adam Schiff of Burbank and Rep. Maxine Waters of Los Angeles, have been frequent Trump targets and, to varying extents, the faces of the resistance to him

Advertisement  Last weekend he wrote, "There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor

Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests

Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!"  Experts called the tweet uninformed. Many politicians and residents called it insensitive

"This is not a time for partisanship," Gov.-elect Gavin Newsom responded. "This is a time for coordinating relief and response and lifting those in need up

"  The president of California Professional Firefighters, Brian Rice, called the tweet "ill-informed, ill-timed and demeaning to those who are suffering as well as the men and women on the front lines

"  "At this moment, thousands of our brother and sister firefighters are putting their lives on the line to protect the lives and property of thousands," Rice added

"Some of them are doing so even as their own homes lay in ruins. In my view, this shameful attack on California is an attack on all our courageous men and women on the front lines

"  Times staff writers Nicole Santa Cruz in Paradise and Noah Bierman in Washington contributed to this report

How Trump politicizes natural disasters - Duration: 2:40.

No matter which party you're in, when you're the president, you're going to be

dealing with natural disasters. It's one of the few occasions that transcends

politics, but not anymore.

In the last two years, there have been 27 natural disasters in the United States,

each costing more than a billion dollars in damage.

Last September, Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico were all hit with

devastating category 4 hurricanes. And this year has seen the deadliest and

most destructive wildfires in U.S. history along with several record-breaking hurricanes.

But the president's response to these have been inconsistent, to say the least.

Trump seems to favor states where Republicans are in charge. Trump went to Texas twice in the

first eight days after Harvey, and after Irma he traveled to Florida within four

days. How long after Maria hit did it take him to go to Puerto Rico? Thirteen

days. This year Trump made it to Florida and North Carolina within a week, but it

took him nine days to plan a trip to California. His public comments followed

the same pattern.

You have a great governor of Florida. The job that Rick has done is being talked about all over.

You have a great, great governor.

The job you've done has been incredible.

But when he talks about places where Democrats are in charge, well see if you can hear a difference:

Now, I hate to tell you Puerto Rico, but you've thrown our budget a little out of wack

because we've spent a lot of money on Puerto Rico.

We're tired of giving California hundreds and hundreds of millions of

dollars all the time for their forest fires, when you wouldn't have them if

they manage their forest properly. That's -- oh California, get on the ball 'cause we're

not gonna hand you any more money. It's ridiculous, okay?

And there's the federal response. The government deployed 20,000 more workers

to assist in Texas than it did in Puerto Rico. It also awarded about

$4 million more for housing assistance.

His preferences become especially clear on Twitter, where he

denigrated Puerto Rico for its infrastructure and debt crisis less than

a week after the hurricane made landfall, before even visiting the island. He made

similarly critical statements within a week of the 2018 California wildfire

outbreak, but Florida, Texas, and Georgia he's had nothing but praise for them.

Even a year later, Trump is still tweeting about Maria, working to

undermine the widely accepted death toll and insulting the politicians. It seems

not even natural disasters can rise above politics in today's climate.

Episode 9 - BIKEPACKING - Donald Trump looks like corn on barbecue - Duration: 7:49.

Alleluia, 12 days of waiting in Teheran that was worth it

since the Turkmenistan embassy granted us 5 days of freedom in their dictatorship

It's a Transit Visa, we have to be at the border on October 15

not before nor after.

Flexibility is not their thing, so I decided not to wait for Guillaume to be there on time

while he visits the country with his girlfriend.

I call him the rocket, and it will not be difficult for him to catch me.

I am 2200m above sea level, but it is not too hard, the road is good,

I hope to reach the pass before noon.

I will pass at the bottom of the Damavand,

the highest point of Iran almost 6000m, 5800m I believe

I look forward to it

That's when you think the weather is perfect,

Bam!! ONE cloud

ONE cloud!!

I just started to go down,

I was at 2800m and I will arrive at the Caspian Sea so until sea level

I have 100km of downhill, 107km exactly

43km/h

50

58

Curve, we slow down,

take the inside,

and speed up again

I was wondering, but where is it? but where is it???

Here it is

Here is my Davamavand,

6000m ! Impressive

There are tunnels

And a car was waiting as I entered the tunnel

Then it got behind me

To protect me in fact

5km further, the car waited for me

I was offered housing down the valley

It's not at all on my way, but I could not refuse

So I'll sleep at Susan's tonight

I've done 71km and I have 77 left

I just had a little rain

and I think I'm going to get a heavy one

It's not funny to see there.

I'm cold I'm soaked

Fuck but you're stupid! Can you not wait?

I decided to cheat a little because I found it fun!

I was offered a drive, then I accept!

Thanks Majid

Ahh, I'm soaked! he will drive me home!

It's so stormy!

I'm very happy to have Susan hosting me

While waiting for the end of the storm, I must mention the situation of Iran.

I would like to show you all Ali's, Shadi's, or Sami's who have hosted us, helped us, or fed us ...

but there are too many of them.

They were that much that we came to a point that we became exhausted of their kindness.

We reached a stage where we sometimes tried to avoid meetings people to avoid having to accept 3 times fruits a day,

or to refuse invitations because we wanted to spend an evening resting or discussing between each others.

At the risk of repeating myself, Iranians are truly amazing people.

And it makes me even more sensitive to their cause.

Throughout our Iranian crossing, we felt sort of feeling of sadness and guiltness.

Indeed, I can not speak of Iran without mentioning the difficulties they are going through.

I'm aware that my analysis will be simplistic and non objective,

but I had to tell these two or three little things that I saw during this time.

To begin with, it made me feel a great sadness of repeatedly hearing Iranians reminding me that they were not terrorists,

and that we should not believe what the media tells us. As if they felt the need to justify themself.

The economic situation of the country has deteriorated drastically in recent months,

and particularly since the United States withdrew themselves from the nuclear agreement and re-established the sanctions

At our level we felt it right away when entering the country,

the currency had lost 3 times its value in one year,

and two weeks later, the time for us to reach Teheran it had dropped by 30% .

A restaurant rarely exceeded 3 euros for two, and sometimes at that price we had the night included.

Major consequences of the fall of the Rial

are the proportional inflation of prices on all the products coming from importation,

and a slower inflation on the products made in Iran.

Extremely painful to hear Iranians in thirst for adventure telling us that they can not leave the country

because everything costs 4 times more for them outside.

of course their incomes have remained the same.

As another concrete example, Shady bought a Citroen a year ago, before the sanctions.

Today, if he wants to change a filter, he will have to pay in Euro,

and thus convert his currency. In other words an air filter will cost him a fortune.

it was by meeting Sami, an Iranian who hosted us

that we have seen the most concretely effects of sanctions.

He took us to see factories that had closed few weeks earlier and sometimes left up to 400 people unemployed

with consequences for families who now have to live with 70% of a salary paid by social assistance

and of course a risk of losing all income if in the year that follows they do not find a job.

Then we went to do some shopping for the evening meal.

The price of baby diapers were multiplied by 10

and it has been a shock seeing the empty shelves of female hygienic products.

He explains that women (his wife and two daughters at the same time)

had to re-use the old methods.

The sanctions attacked human dignity in just a few months.

companies from France and the world, to not lose their market with the United States preferred to stop their business with Iran.

To see all the misfortune that is able to spread a single guy,

which is by the way orange with a yellow wig,

made me lose my mind more than once,

but fortunately, the smile of the Iranians is stronger than that.

When we apologize because we feel guilty of the disregard of our country,

they laugh and give a good hand slap on the back.

So as a sign of protest, I decided that I will no longer appoint US President as Donald Trump.

But Donald Trump (with French accent)

Me too I am protectionist, and I want to keep my French accent

It is non violent and it makes me feel better!

Melania Trump's Power Play, Kanye West's Firefighters & The NFL-"Fortnite" Deal | The Daily Show - Duration: 3:51.

Melania Trump.

You know those movies where, uh, the beautiful

but mysterious woman with a foreign accent

is actually a secret assassin?

Well, maybe we should have seen this coming.

A dramatic move by Melania Trump

that apparently blindsided top White House aides.

REPORTER: Melania Trump's office releasing a statement

publicly blasting a national security official.

REPORTER 2: The first lady called

for Deputy National Security Advisor Mira Ricardel

to be fired, complaining directly to her husband

about being unhappy with Ricardel

during her first solo trip to Africa in October.

The two fought over seating on a plane

and using National Security Council resources for the trip.

The first lady's office issued a statement saying...

(reading):

Sweet Lord. Melania does not mess around.

We barely hear from her.

And then when she does speak, it's to fire somebody?

And, like, whatever this lady did

must have made Melania so mad.

'Cause you realize, Trump cheats on her

and she's pretty chill about it.

But then Melania goes on a flight,

and, all of a sudden, she's all like, "Bitch took aisle seat."

And, like, honestly, I don't even know who this is.

Mira Ricardel?

Who is this person that they're firing?

Like, they're running out of people we know to fire.

This is like Walking Dead season six.

"Oh, no! They killed... Derek."

Moving on, the California wildfires continue

to destroy homes and property.

But some people aren't having it.

TMZ is reporting that rapper Kanye West hired

a private firefighting team to help his California home

keep safe from the wildfire in Malibu.

Now, that home sits at the end of a cul-de-sac.

If that home caught on fire,

it would have led to a ripple effect

through the neighborhood, West said.

So the family hired a team of firefighters armed with hoses.

It worked. The firefighters saved

their $60 million home

and several of their neighbors' homes as well.

Okay, there's rich,

and then there's private firefighter rich.

Yeah. I'm pretty certain their hoses

don't even have water-- they just use Cristal.

Yeah. You probably didn't even know

that Lamborghini made a fire truck, did you?

You didn't know that. Like, I didn't even know

that prire fi-- private firefighters were a thing.

But I guess when you're that rich, you just point at someone

and they become your personal firefighter.

Just like, "Hey, you, fight the fire."

It's like, "Screw you, Kanye. How-- Oh, how much?

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fighting. I'm fighting the fire.

"I'm fighting the fire. I'm a firefighter.

A fighter for money."

And it's weird that Kanye hired personal firefighters,

but it's not the weirdest thing I can imagine him doing.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised

if he just tried to talk to the fire

about his theories on creativity,

and, after ten minutes, the fire was like,

"You know what, I'm-- I'll just put myself out.

I'm... I'm done."

Moving on to other news, Fortnite--

it's a game about killing everyone in sight,

and now it's about to get violent.

REPORTER: The NFL is partnering

with the popular video game Fortnite,

and it's creating some controversy.

Players are using the NFL uniforms now available

in the game to create controversial players.

Among them is one avatar that looks like Aaron Hernandez

holding a gun. Players have also made characters

that look like O.J. Simpson and Colin Kaepernick.

Okay, now, first of all, that's a weird list

of controversial players:

a convicted murderer, a guy accused of double murder,

and a guy who kneeled a few times?

Okay, news, fair enough.

And, also, why put O.J. into Fortnite?

It's literally bringing a knife to a gunfight.

That's a waste of time. And I love Colin,

but he's gonna be useless in Fortnite.

Everyone's shooting and he's just taking a knee

behind a bush. What good is that?

We see you, Colin! We see you!

TRUMP SENDS IN THE FEDS – SANCTUARY CITY LEADERS ARRESTED, CHARGED - Duration: 10:57.

TRUMP SENDS IN THE FEDS – SANCTUARY CITY LEADERS ARRESTED, CHARGED

JUST IN: President Donald Trump just spoke out at a Pennsylvania rally to call on Congress

to stop funding sanctuary cities.

The Daily Caller reported that he demanded that Congress stop giving money to cities

that disobey federal immigration laws in an attempt to better protect American lives.

"I'm calling on Congress to stop funding sanctuary cities so we can save American lives.

The funding bill should not give precious and massive tax payer grants to cities aiding

and abetting criminals," Trump said.

"It's what they do."

This comes after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Thomas Homan launched an investigation

into Oakland, California Mayor Libby Schaaf for obstruction of justice because she warned

illegal aliens of ICE raids in the area.

Schaaf has received over 1,000 "angry calls" since issuing the warning that saved around

800 illegal immigrants from arrest.

ICE officials were still able to arrest 232 illegal aliens, most of whom were criminals,

in the raids, yet they said 800 illegal immigrants evaded arrest thanks to Schaaf.

The Oakland mayor proudly boasted afterwards, "I definitely consider myself part of the

resistance."

"What she did is no better than a gang lookout yelling 'police' when a police cruiser

comes in the neighborhood, except she did it to a whole community," Homan told "Fox

& Friends."

Homan also released a statement saying the raid had been meant to target "sanctuary

cities" that limit cooperation between ICE and local law enforcement.

"Sanctuary jurisdictions like San Francisco and Oakland shield dangerous criminal aliens

from federal law enforcement at the expense of public safety," Homan said.

"Because these jurisdictions prevent ICE from arresting criminal aliens in the secure

confines of a jail, they also force ICE officers to make more arrests out in the community,

which poses increased risks for law enforcement and the public."
