When is a shoe not just a shoe? When it is a pair of very high, needle-thin heels worn by the first lady of the United States on her way to the site of a natural disaster.

Then it becomes a symbol for what many see as the disconnect between the Trump administration and reality; another example of the way in which this president and his family continue to define "appropriate" their own way; and an excuse for partisan name-calling.

Or so became apparent Tuesday morning when President Trump and his wife left the White House to fly to Texas for a briefing on the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, and Mrs.

Trump appeared on the lawn in black pegged trousers, black shades, an olive green bomber jacket — and her stilettos, now a trademark. Very much the same kind of shoes, in other words, she has been wearing since long before she joined her husband on the campaign trail.

It looks like Trump made another brilliant move by bringing in General Kelly as chief

of staff.

Anthony Scaramucci was an unfortunate casualty but he did his job serving the President by

shaking up the staff and firing two huge leakers.

What Anthony did, cleaning house of the ineffectual team that came before, was a tremendous benefit

to Trump – every organization needs a hatchet man – and they never last long past the

swinging.

It's the nature of the job.

Because after the heads have rolled a smart leader brings in the one guy who can bring

everyone together again.

Enter General John Kelly.

After the establishment Republicans led by Reince and Spicer and the rest flopped on

the Obamacare repeal John Kelly's job is twice as hard.

But what most people don't know about Kelly is that he once served as the Marine Corps'

chief liaison to Capitol Hill.

"Kelly understands that rather than addressing symptoms of problems, maybe we ought to try

a shot at addressing root causes," Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE), who traveled with Kelly

often on overseas missions and introduced Kelly at his confirmation hearing for Department

of Homeland Security secretary, told a reporter from The Daily Beast.

"I'm encouraged that he's been named as chief of staff.

Encouraged."

And he is not the only Democratic Senator singing Kelly's praises.

He reached out to Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.

Because as one senior White House official said,"Tax reform is gonna be a heavy lift.

No reason to write off/alienate Democrats any more than we already have."

Which is a smart strategy for Trump to pursue.

He can pick off enough Democrats with a tax plan and an infrastructure plan and when he

does he will not be held hostage by establishment Republicans who want to force through bills

that directly go against Trump's agenda.

And striking fear in both the Democrats and Republicans hearts will be Kelly according

to one Dem Senate aide who said,

"He seems like an odd person to bring in if you think he's your lap dog.

Kelly strikes me as the type of person who just doesn't give a fuck.

I don't think he cares.

He'll say: 'This is what you should do.

You hired me to tell you what to do…

If you want to get this done, here is a PowerPoint on how to get it done and I will go execute.'"

True Trump will have to give a little to get a lot but that is the art of the deal and

he literally wrote the book

on that.

Look Who Trump Is Going to Send to Guantanamo Bay After Obama Cleared It

President Donald Trump is keeping the promises he made during his political campaign.

One of these promises was to keep Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba open and fill it with criminals,

unlike former President Barack Obama who wanted to shut down the place.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions visited the prison in Cuba while Trump attended the G20

Summit.

He was accompanied with Rod Rosenstein and Dan Coats.

At the end of the visit, Sessions said that there is no reason not to send new prisoners

there.

During President Trump's showing abroad at the G20 Summit, Attorney General Jeff Sessions

along with his deputy, Rod Rosenstein, and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats

visited Guantanamo Bay prison camp at the US naval base on the island of Cuba.

Barack Obama tried to have the facility shut down.

Unlike him, President Trump is a true American who cares about our nation's security and

the well-being of out citizens over all else.

He promised during the campaign to fill it to capacity again instead of shutting the

prison down.

At the end of his visit, Session said that the prison is a "very fine place" and

there is no legal reason not to send new detainees there.

In 2009, Obama signed an executive order to shut down the US military prison at Guantanamo

Bay.

He signed three executive orders on the second day of the new administration, which showed

that e was determined to get what he wanted.

This is what Obama said:

"The message that we are sending around the world is that the United States intends

to prosecute the ongoing struggle against violence and terrorism and we are going to

do so vigilantly.

We are going to do so effectively and we are going to do so in a manner that is consistent

with our values and our ideals."

A draft copy of the order said:

"In view of significant concerns raised by these detentions, both within the United

States and internationally, prompt and appropriate disposition of the individuals currently detained

at Guantanamo and closure of the facility would further the national security and foreign

policy interests of the United States and the interests of justice."

Obama's efforts didn't pay out and the prison didn't close down.

He went on to leave 41 detainees who were considered the most dangerous stay in the

prison.

Thank God that Obama is not our president anymore.

He transferred many prisoners from Gitmo to other countries.

However, the prison is a fine place as indicated by Jeff Sessions

and there's no reason

for its closure.

He made a wild statement that most people on the right can agree with at this point.

The best part was he said this on CNN.

"Donald Trump could be the greatest president in history if he wanted to, he could easily

be the next Teddy Roosevelt."

He believes that Donald Trump can be any kind of president that he wants to be.

He has the incredible opportunity because he's gone into office unburdened by obligation.

The last time that happened was Andrew Jackson in the 1800's.

When Jackson and Trump came in, a lot of people were angered.

They were wrong about Jackson.

Jackson fought banks and rapidly grew the nation.

He was very anti-Native American, but he did great things for the nation.

Trump has one goal, which is to Make America Great Again.

He is serving this nation and that's it.

"You know, I think he can do anything he wants because he is not — he is not bound

by ideology.

He is less bound by ideology than any president probably that we've had this century,"

Kennedy said.

Trump doesn't seem to care about the rabid left because they are only obstructionist

and he knows that actions speak louder than words.

RFK Jr is correct.

President Trump can be the best president ever.

He isn't a politician and that's what the benefit is.

Politicians tend to ruin politics.

They don't normally care about the nation because they are cronies that live off the

taxpayer dime and lobbyists.
