U.S. Rep. Beto O'Rourke on impeaching Trump and the 2018 elections - Duration: 5:27.

You had an exchange with an audience member where you confirmed that you would

vote to impeach President Trump if given the opportunity. Those remarks came

on the same evening Trump addressed the nation, as far as the war in Afghanistan.

Talk a little bit about your thoughts on the president and those remarks.

Donald Trump is the president the United States and we want him to be

successful, especially as it pertains to supporting our servicemembers and

conducting our foreign policy and the wars that we wage, as it pertains to

meeting the commitments that we have to our veterans – those who borne the battle

coming back from those wars – on those things where we might be able to agree.

An infrastructure spending program that'll put millions of Americans,

hundreds of thousands potentially of Texans, back to work. And so I will try to

find common ground where we have common cause.

But his mendacity, his lies to the American people, whether it's about

Mexican immigrants being rapists and criminals, whether

whether it's about 3,000,000 quote-unquote illegals voting unlawfully in the last election,

whether it's the potential collusion with the country of Russia or the obstruction of justice at the highest levels,

the effort to intimidate those who are investigating and following the facts and his

tacit approval, and I would argue even encouragement, of those same

white nationalists who were marching in Charlottesville, Virginia.

I do not believe that he is fit to lead this country but there is

a democratic lawful process that we must follow and guess what? That process cannot work if we are

not able to join with Republicans who see beyond partisanship and what's good

for their careers to what's best for this country.

You've talked about Republicans. You road tripped it with Congressman Will Hurd who got two

new Democratic challengers over the weekend. Do you plan to endorse in that race?

I don't, no. Listen, I've got nearly 18 months left in

my term in Congress and what you want from me is not politicking for other

people and other congressional districts. You want me to find a way to work with

Will Hurd to, as we have, try to figure out immigration reform, improve the

conditions for our veterans ensuring that we can fulfill our

commitments to them, supporting our servicemembers, trying to devise a

strategy for the wars that we are fighting overseas including the longest

one in US history in Afghanistan.

I can't work with Republicans if they think that I'm trying to screw them by working against their re-election

so I'm going to stay out of that race. I wish the people of that district the best

in choosing the best person to represent their interests.

I'm not I'm not going to be a voice in that election.

Veronica Escobar is set to announce on Saturday likely for your seat.

Are you formally endorsing her for that race?

I love Veronica Escobar. She has been a phenomenal county judge and as a son of

a former El Paso County Judge, I'll tell you I have some basis in this:

she's the best county judge El Paso has had.

She took on corruption at the courthouse and won.

She set a very high standard for honesty and leadership and public

service and I think we in El Paso would be well served by Veronica representing

our interests in the US Congress.

In addition she would be, believe it or not,

the first Latina to represent a congressional district in the US House of Representatives from Texas.

So for all the right reasons including the historical ones,

she's the person that I'm going to get behind him and

I'm going to encourage my fellow El Pasoans to do the same.

A lot of talk about Confederate symbols being removed from college campuses, state grounds.

What's your take on how these, as part of our history, should be handled modern-day?

By-and-large I like the way that those who are in

positions of public trust are trying to handle this.

We look at the president of UT-Austin

who made the difficult but important decision to remove those

statues from a place of public honor to one more befitting a museum

where they can be placed in context and the legacy of slavery,

the Confederacy and those in Texas who joined the Confederacy can be placed in context.

We hear Democrats at every level here in the state talk about voter turnout.

We heard it last week at the Capitol, Congressman Castro was talking about it.

How do you translate turnouts like rallies here in Killeen

to get them to the polls?

Well, when folks describe us as a red state or a Republican state

or perhaps in the future, a blue state,

they're missing the point that this is a non-voting state. And whether it's the active

suppression of the vote, which the courts have found to be true four times just this year,

whether it is the perpetual re-election of members of Congress in

the Senate, ninety-three percent reelection rate over over 50 years.

So when they have a member of Congress running for the Senate,

as I am in my case,

who doesn't take PAC money, who is not just introducing term limits legislation

but is holding himself to no more than two terms in the Senate and

who wants to defeat the gerrymandering in Texas

where members of Congress choose their voters

instead of the other way around

by setting up a nonpartisan redistricting commission,

they have a chance to be part of something that is

of, for and by Texans.

Brief: Trump's new Afghanistan policy. - Duration: 5:03.

Trumps new strategy for Afghanistan released Monday, he said US would put more troops there.

Former president Barack Obama was clear in pulling US troops out of Afghanistan, so he

reduced the US presence and kept US troops away from the front line.

While Trump advocated a more radical and complete exit during his campaign, now he has backtracked

and ruled out a full withdrawal.

His ultimate goal looks ambiguous.

There are some realistic parts to Trump's Afghanistan strategy.

But the war in Afghanistan has altered the country's political structure and disturbed

the regional landscape.

It's a daunting task to build a unity government in such a divided Afghanistan.

The Taliban, once smashed by the US army, has resurged and now controls a large part

of Afghan territory.

Yet the US has barely any experience of successfully reconciling ethnic groups.

Soon after Trump's speech, the Taliban responded that Afghanistan would become a "graveyard"

for the US.

Everything about the conflict seems to be going right back to where it was.

Washington has to figure out what it wants from Afghanistan in the future.

It fought in Afghanistan in a bid to take revenge for the 9/11 attacks and overthrow

the Taliban regime, which was far more resilient than expected.

Does the US want to continue its involvement in Afghanistan's political future or want

to create the conditions for the withdrawal of US troops?

Will the US turn Afghanistan into a geopolitical bridgehead in Central Asia or work with China

to build peace there?

The US is unable to wipe out the Taliban and doesn't want to completely pull out of Afghanistan.

It is ambivalent in dealing with Pakistan and doesn't trust China enough.

Trump's new strategy actually aims to maintain the status quo since he has no new idea to

end the stalemate, and sways between the tactics of Obama and George W Bush.

The Afghanistan situation is complicated.

A huge challenge in ending the war lies in how to bring back the different forces into

the political process.

The US needs to enhance cooperation with China and improve ties with Pakistan to stabilize

the Afghanistan situation.

China and the US share many common interests in the Afghanistan issue and both wish to

see the country return to peace and stability.

In fact, Afghanistan could become a bridge for the two to expand their cooperation.

The US should give a constructive response to China's concerns about a US military

base in Afghanistan and support China's Belt and Road initiative.

The US also needs to respect and consider Pakistan's interests and difficulties, and

not push the latter too hard on anti-terrorism issues.

It will be stupid if the US abandons Pakistan and particularly shortsighted to get too close

to India and drift away from Pakistan.

The major problem in Afghanistan is social and economic reconstruction.

It's no easy thing to bring an organization defeated by US troops back to Afghanistan's

national regime.

No single power can deal with the Afghanistan issue.

The Trump administration should promote effective cooperation between international forces.

But Trump's new strategy neither emphasizes international cooperation nor provides new

thinking in facilitating national conciliation.

It is worrying that the new strategy ignores the reality that the Trump administration

may in the end not exit the Afghanistan war.

Supreme Court Judge Retiring – PRESIDENT TRUMP PLANNING HUGE REPLACE!! - Duration: 12:07.

Supreme Court Judge Retiring – PRESIDENT TRUMP PLANNING HUGE REPLACE!!

Supreme Court Judge Retiring – PRESIDENT TRUMP PLANNING HUGE REPLACE!!

Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy considers retiring.

Trump sees opportunity!

It seems that President Trump may soon have another opportunity to appoint another judge

to the Supreme Court.

According to sources close to Justice Anthony Kennedy, the judge thinks about withdrawing

from the high court.

Kennedy, 80, says that old age has finally caught up with him and that he seriously considers

about retiring.

He was appointed in 1998 by president Ronald Reagan and is currently the oldest justice

in the high court after the death of conservative judge Antonin Scalia.

Even though he was appointed by Reagan, Kennedy is politically impartial and has always been

the one to decide Supreme Court tiebreakers.

After Gorsuch's appointment, the Supreme Court is divided by four conservative and

four progressive justices, with Kennedy caught in the middle, always deciding SCORUS stalemates.

Should Kennedy decides to withdraw, this will give Trump the opportunity to appoint another

conservative justice, thus having five conservative to four liberal justices.

Judge Kennedy is close to President Donald Trump with the two of them both having kids

who reside in New York.

The Supreme Court justice has invited Ivanka Trump to the high court to sit in a section

usually reserved for family.

The President's success in replacing Justice Scalia with a prudent and devoted justice

may have affected Kennedy's final decision since he has seen that Trump is capable of

choosing people that will be worthy to replace the honorable Supreme Court justices.

Let's just hope that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 84, will also withdraw in a couple

of years.

Ginsburg will be smart to do this since she has trouble staying awake during Supreme Court

hearings and it is fairly impossible for her to stay at the high court during Trump's

tenure.

If both Justice Ginsburg and Justice Kennedy withdraw, Donald Trump could appoint one-third

of the Supreme Court.

If Trump eventually succeeds to appoint another right-leaning judge to the high court, this

will slope the balance of the court to six conservative and three liberal justices.

What do you think about this?

Anti-Trump protester gets shot in 'the groin by riot police firing rubber bullets'

The video which was shared on Twitter shows a man in a gas mask running forward to kick a tear gas canister back towards police.

Police then fire back with rubber bullets as one appears to hit the male protester in an intimate area, dropping him to the ground in the middle of the road.

A man wearing a Colin Kaepernick football jersey runs to the aid of the protester as he limps out of the way of the advancing police with riot shields.

The shocking footage comes as smoke grenades and tear gas were fired by.   . Phoenix Police Department spokesman Sergeant Jonathan Howard said: People in the crowd have begun throwing rocks and bottles at police. They also dispersed some gas in the area.

Police have responded with pepper balls and OC (oleoresin capsicum) spray in an attempt to disperse the crowd and stop the assaults." Police have not given an estimate of the number of protesters who turned out for the event, but Arizona media said there were several thousand people.

Anti-Trump protesters yelled out chants including Shame and No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA..

Anna Ruiz, a teacher in the Phoenix Union High School District, said she marched for her undocumented students who were too afraid. She added: "It makes me sad to have to be out here.

Everybody who lives in this country has rights. Im here because Im also gay. I'm here because Im a woman. Im here because Im a Democrat.

Im here because Im a woman. Im a fifth generation Arizonan. I dont like whats happened to my state or my country.

Im so ashamed. The Phoenix event was the Presidents eighth rally since he took office and he told a crowd of supporters that his words in the aftermath of the Virginia event had been perfect.

Trump drew broad criticism for blaming both white nationalists and counter-protesters for the deadly violence at the Charlottesville rally, which was organised by neo-Nazis and white supremacists, resulting in the death of one woman.

He omitted the heavily-condemned many sides part of his initial comments on the fatal violence as he blasted the dishonest media to supporters at the rally.
