Such a serious natural disaster. Do you believe that the president and the administration are prepared for this hurricane I?

With the people of this country and making sure that states have the resources that they need to take care of themselves

Condemning these groups and do everything that we can to heal the deep divisions that exist in our communities

He's talking about the events after
Charlottesville, he's talking about condemning nazis and white supremacists by name but Katrina wanted to get your
reaction to this
well, you know as the president has said he has done a number of times of condemning these types of hate groups even throughout the
campaign for that matter
But no one wants to talk about that
And the president was very candid he was very honest in
His statement in the second one when he said he didn't have all the details at first and in the end when he came out
With the press conference was very clear
has been talking about it ever since and you know this is a president who does not walk the
Racially political line because he doesn't pay attention to to the race issue
He sees everyone as individuals as people as potential and when these kinds of things happen the president is learning to

Because he does believe that this country is one country and the people here are also one and he's going to do more to

One of the a couple of quotes that stood out in the article where citizens standing up for equality and freedom can never be equated
With white supremacist neo Nazis in the Kkk as a Jewish American
I will not allow neo-Nazis ranting jews will not replace us to cause this jew to leave his job
I feel deep empathy for all of those who have been targeted by these hate groups
But we must all unite together against them
are these statements part of that unity or part of that healing somehow and
To the point where gary cohn ever give this interview Katrina unless he had cleared it with the president
You know I'm not sure I have not spoken to Mr.
Comb but I will say that constantly condemning these types of group groups. I believe is very helpful
It is disgusting to see these types of groups that are still out there
Unfortunately the media does continue to give them a platform
Unfortunately, we're going to have to deal with that through this resistance movement, but I also think that this is also an opportunity to
Highlight that and to show where the media is constantly trying to drive
These false narratives against the president of course the president isn't racist of course he condemns hate groups
He loves all Americans. He loves people in general
I think you're going to see more of that moving forward in will shift to
The Agenda the administration is still pushing for both health care and tax reform despite opposition's
Frankly opposition on both sides of the aisle leading republican lawmakers admit that the process is a struggle watch this
I'm often asked what is being the majority leader the senate like?
The best answer I've been able to think of is it's a little bit like being a groundskeeper at a cemetery
Everybody's under you, but nobody's listening. It's a day-By-day deal
I'm told I'm kind of joking we're in constant contact to try and put together a shared agenda
Which we agree on and we're working together to move that shared agenda

This is something that the party has been pushing for seven
years
So one would think that they would just do their jobs and represent their constituency
Particularly those who actually voted for the president on though on that basis, but I do think this is going to help
I think it's going to be a constant reminder of where the president is where the people of the party are?
versus where the republican establishment is because if we're here today after
making promises for years nearly a decade and
Suddenly the Republicans can't seem to push forward the policies that they themselves have been promoting then we have a problem
And I think this is the president's way of getting out to the people and showing them that if this does not get done
It's not on his hands because he's going to be in his office holding his pen waiting for that bill to come to his office
