How Do Trump And Nixon Compare? - Duration: 5:02.

Scandals and calls for impeachment have led to comparisons between President Donald Trump

and former president Richard Nixon.

But is there more to it than meets the eye?

Trump and Nixon have very different personalities.

Nixon was a very introverted, insecure man and probably qualified as a intellectual,

bordering on genius, when it came to international strategy and foreign policy.

Trump is a showman, he's the Barnum of our age and is not, as far as anyone can tell,

a deep scholar of anything, gets by on personality and aplomb and dazzle and like all good showmen,

appeals to a crowd.

Both of them appealed to the grievances of white voters.

Both of them practice, what I call the politics of grievance and resentment and at certain

points in the 2016 campaign, Trump even used Nixonian language, like silent majority.

"The silent majority is back."

"The great silent majority and my fellow Americans"

Donald Trump's campaign in 2016 was marred with controversy after controversy but the

most significant of those is still being investigated.

It continues to plague his presidency but unlike Nixon it doesn't seem to be leading to impeachment.

From what we know now, I don't see President Trump being impeached or even reaching a state

in the U.S. Senate where he loses enough votes where he's forced to resign.

If you remember the house judiciary committee voted articles of impeachment against Nixon

with some Republican support.

As in the Watergate scandal, there is no evidence that proves direct involvement by the president.

But it's perhaps the way both of them moved to stifle the investigations

that aligns them in people's minds.

You have to remember that in Nixon's case it was not the crime, it was not the burglary

that he was accused of, it was the cover up and in Trump's case, you have questions

about whether or not he obstructed justice in the way that he leaned on

the leading law enforcement officials.

The similarities are astonishing in some cases - Nixon had a Saturday night massacre where

he fired the special counsel who was investigating him, setting off a political firestorm.

And Trump has fired the FBI director who was investigating him and there's been lots

of talk in Washington, whether it's baseless or not we don't know, that the White House

has considered firing Mr Mueller, its special counsel as well.

But Trump has one significant advantage over Nixon - a number of news media outlets willing

to defend him at all costs.

Nixon was dealing with an antagonistic, liberal, democratic congress.

The machinery on Capitol Hill was in the hands of the democrats.

The other great difference is that Nixon had a very antagonistic, liberal press, it was

a quite different press in structure, so the message that was conveyed to America was a

uniform slightly left of center message.

In the case of Donald Trump of course you have an entire right wing news media structure

that did not exist at the time of Watergate.

You've got Fox News, you've got Rush Limbaugh and other talk radio hosts who continually

are telling at least a strong, committed segment of the American public that this is all partisan

fantasy that there is nothing to it, that this is just liberals going after a republican president.

Nixon's downfall was in part due to his failure to come clean.

He attempted to cover his tracks and hide the truth from the public.

The more and more that he [Trump] interferes in the judicial system, if he were to fire

the special counsel, I think to a great extent, he would be building a case against himself

rather than helping himself out.

So far, he's been wise enough to come up to the edge and not go over that line.

As we proceed, it will be interesting to see whether he resists that temptation.

So Nixon and Trump may seem similar on paper but the two stories could have very different endings.

I think that the Russia hacking of our election is far more dangerous and serious than Watergate.

Once Americans, once any country's people lose faith in the idea that this is an honest,

on the level election, because it could be hacked by an enemy or hacked by an enemy in

collusion with one of the two parties, that's a very dangerous and frightening threat to democracy.

Stormy Daniels' Lawsuit Against Trump Is Moving From New York To LA — Here's Why - Duration: 4:36.

Lawyers for the president have requested to move Stormy Daniels' lawsuit against Trump to LA, as of Aug. 8, and Daniels and her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, have agreed to the move

The move from New York to Los Angeles is happening for one main reason: it will hopefully make the entire process happen much more quickly

In fact, the move seems to be the first thing that both sides have agreed upon since their public dispute began

The specific lawsuit that's moving to LA is a claim by Daniels that Trump defamed her on Twitter by undermining her claims that a man had threatened her to keep quiet about her past supposed relationship with Trump

As for Trump, he has consistently denied any relationship with Daniels or any knowledge of a man threatening Daniels

The tweet in question that Daniels is suing Trump over was posted on April 18, 2018

The president tweeted, "A sketch years later about a nonexistent man. A total con job, playing the Fake News Media for Fools (but they know it)!"

Now, Daniels' lawsuit aims to prove that Trump's tweet was an act of defamation. Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti, said of moving the lawsuit to LA, "We concluded that it will allow the defamation case against Mr

Trump to move along more expeditiously if it is venued in Los Angeles. It is all about getting maximum accountability as quickly as possible

When asked why lawyers on Trump's side would be okay with moving the lawsuit to Los Angeles, Avenatti joked to reporters, "Maybe he likes the weather or his golf course better

Daniels' team released a composite sketch of the man that she claimed threatened her in 2011 when she was trying to sell her story about her supposed affair with Trump

In a CBS interview, Daniels said that she was in a parking lot with her infant daughter when a man walked up to her and said, "Leave Trump alone

Forget the story.".In an interview with Anderson Cooper, Avenatti repeatedly called Trump's then-lawyer Michael Cohen (who's now embroiled in a Daniels-Trump lawsuit of his own) a "thug

Avenatti added that he was "not yet" accusing Cohen of having sent someone to threaten Daniels, but that "there's only three groups of people that individual could have been sent by

We know it's not my client that sent the goon," Cohen said, "We know it's not the magazine that sent the goon

There's only one logical place left as to who would have sent the goon. It's common sense

As for Cohen, he continued to maintain that Daniels' claim of being threatened was a "complete lie

"It's an utter fiction," Cohen's lawyer, David Schwartz said, though he was not representing Cohen in this case

And that in and of itself is defamatory to say that was Michael Cohen or someone sent by Michael Cohen

It's a figment of her imagination. That person doesn't exist.".More recently, Daniels was arrested during one of her strip performances at a club in Ohio

Following the arrest, Avenatti maintained that it was assuredly "politically motivated"

"In America, we should not be using the power of the badge to arrest our political enemies," Cohen said

"They do that in Russia, but they don't do that in the United States of America."

ANTHONY SCARAMUCCI POTENTIAL TRUMP-MUELLER INTERVIEW - Duration: 11:23.

here in New York foxes alert now awaiting the arrival of a vice president

Mike Pence at the Pentagon where he will be meeting with top brass about the

formation of a space force and then deliver critical remarks on that all

this and keeping with President Trump's call for a new branch of the military

for the future to protect vital US interests in outer space we will bring

you those remarks when they get underway from the Pentagon coming up here team

has responded to robert muller and they have one main condition and the russia

probe welcome to a brand new hour of America's newsroom I'm Sandra Smith

making it making it simple there i'm bill hemmer good morning we'll try and

keep it that way we don't know the specifics but trump's legal team playing

this one close the main message appears to be wrap it up by September and that

brings us to today's newsroom music president Trump's lawyers making what

they're calling a counteroffer for an interview with the special counsel

Robert Muller Rudy Giuliani says it may be quote the last best chance special

counsel Robert Muller has to secure president Trump's testimony this is a

good-faith attempt to try and meet the special counsel part of the way and wrap

up this investigation we offered them an opportunity to do a form of questioning

you can say yes or no Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz thinks the

strategy is to make it impossible for Muller to accept the president's terms

they're gonna make Muller an offer he can't accept some reports indicate the

offer includes a condition the president won't be asked about obstruction of

justice if there's any type of interview whether

it's written or otherwise it will be the appropriate type of response this legal

team is not walking this president to a perjury trap not going to happen

Mahler reiterated the need to interview Trump both to understand whether he had

any corrupt intent to thwart the rush investigation and to complete this

obstruction of justice portion of his probe why do you want to get him under

oath you think we're fools they want to get among the others you want to trap

him in a perjury but we're not gonna let you do that bottom line these two sides

are still pretty far apart the ball is now in Bullards court how much does he

really want an interview and to what degree does he realize this may be his

last chance to get more the ultimate decision whether to do it

is up to the president let's bring in today's headliner Anthony scare Moochie

former White House communications director Anthony great to see you this

morning hey good morning guys all right so

you've heard the response big news yeah so what do you think about it well

listen I think it's the right strategy I mean you know it's talking from the

president's legal team they've got to make sure that it's a very narrow banded

window of questions they're obviously going to be concerned about the perjury

issue if you if you were sitting with that legal team right now you would say

the president did absolutely nothing wrong but we can have anything what they

used to say about Watergate to cover up being worse than the crime or any

potential perjury and so that it's absolutely the right strategy and I

would also recommend to the President as I've said let's not tweet about it

anymore no no tweets related to the Trump Tower

meetings no treats related to any of this stuff because I think he's going to

get what he wants I do not believe that he's a target of these investigations as

it relates to Russian collusion but what's at issue is did he do something

related to obstructing justice and so I clearly believe that he did not do that

and now it'll be up to his legal team to prove that the robert muller and so but

i do think my former law school professor alan dershowitz is right

they're gonna make this thing very very narrow because ideally they really don't

want the president to testify but no the president now Sandra and the

president probably very much so wants to testify because look what where's

everything on a sleeve yeah he doesn't think he did anything wrong what

Dershowitz said with Sandra last hours that this goes to the Supreme Court and

if it does the court will rule in favor of some questions and rule out of favor

for other questions so what would be in Anthony and what would be out well

listen I mean what would clearly be in is whether or not they have the right to

speak to the president through the subpoena process and so I think the

conservatives on the court would probably said that they don't you have

to leave the president alone he's got a very difficult job and the Liberals

would probably say that he did they do and so they would probably split the

baby and allow certain questions to be asked and other questions frankly not to

be asked it's interesting because you know Ryan guy those are not Ryan but

Judge Kevin all wrote a lot of stuff the way he's handle a lot of aspects to the

to the presidency and so but this is not a freewheeling situation okay this

requires a tremendous amount of verbal discipline it requires a tremendous

amount of coaching and listen it's gotta be very frustrating for the president

because he's probably sitting there saying I've done absolutely nothing

wrong I've got the economy humming I've got the unemployment numbers at an

all-time low I'm fixing the Korean problem I'm decimating the Iranians if

you guys just leave me alone we've got a roller coaster of winning taking place

and so he's sort of probably upset about the whole thing having said that the

locomotion on this thing started after the Comey firing and hopefully it will

it will conclude soon and they've got to wrap it up here hopefully with a

narrowbanded testimony or no testimony but I really hope it doesn't go to the

Supreme Court guys because well every time something goes to the Supreme Court

it's like lighting another match in the partisan struggle that we have going on

in the country right a lot of people think if you don't get answer by the 1st

of September it slides at the end of the year even next year because the midterm

september/october and speaking of which we're still digesting the news from

Tuesday night I you are as well how you can go into

central Ohio and win the district two years ago by 11 points Mitt Romney won

it by 10 and now you're you're in a virtual dead heat Karl Rove writes three

in the Wall Street Journal all about this very interesting I'll take number

six guys this is what he says okay with regard to the president taken on the

stump etc well this is number five taken as a whole Tuesday's results don't

justify the president's declaration of the giant red wave is coming it's not

yes the GOP can add seats in the Senate there are 26 Democratic seats up ten in

states mr. Trump carried five and states of care by 18 points or more not

significant compare that with just nine Republicans up and only one in a State

Hillary Clinton carried no Senate landscape has been as favorable to party

and power some senators are first elected by popular vote 1914 he goes on

to argue that yes the president drives people to the polls when he makes

appearances in different districts across the country but he also drives up

the other side as well and soft Republicans likely will stay home as we

have seen in Ohio and we saw in Pennsylvania 18 just react to that

Anthony is that the reality for midterms and 95 he's in it he's in a yeah well

he's in a stew political scientist and it just what ends up happening is the

the party that's out of office is riled up and they have higher voter

participation going into these midterms and you could just look at the rob a

Sereno race in Westchester last year Rob got more votes than he got

in 2013 but he still lost my 26,000 because there was a rush of registered

Democrats that came to the polls and so what Karl's worried about and you could

clearly see it in district 12 in Ohio two days ago or a day ago that that's

going to be a problem look I was out in Cleveland over the last two days

marketing for my firm talk to a lot of people out there

the president is got a great campaign style but he really should dial down he

really should dial down some of the tweets because a lot of these Mis

Midwesterners that actually really like him they don't like certain aspects of

that bellicosity and so you've got 90 two days left I told Sandra the other

night that is a lifetime in American politics and so you cannot underestimate

the president he went from the Access Hollywood tape on October 7th to an

electoral success on November the 8th one short month later and so my bed is

is that the White House and the president are recalibrating a campaign

strategy right now based on what took place this week and I would not count

him out it may not be a red wave but it may not also be the blue wave that

everybody's talking about either because of the economy guys not religious all

those parameters are good at that point that bill bill went on to make and this

wall street journal editorial number 7 guys it is a good one and I think it's

worth pointing this out because he is showing up and endorsing these

candidates and making a big difference can he keep that up is the question in

this piece that writes Tuesday's results cast doubt on the current White House

strategy to make the election a referendum on Donald Trump the president

took credit late Tuesday for bald ursins apparent Ohio victory and perhaps his

visit to the district Saturday evening motivated some GOP voters but his

omnipresence also motivates Democrats while it may demotivate soft Republicans

and independents who dislike mr. Trump could that be the case Anthony well

listen I'm certain that there's an element of truth to that because that's

happening it happened to Reagan at 82 it happened to Barack Obama in 2010 so

there's obviously an element of truth of that but they're not to use a sports

metaphor but if you've got Donald J Trump and you have the opportunity to

deploy him in your district given the popularity that he has with the

Republican base and given the ability for him to turn out rock star like

audiences and crowds and get the media attention on your agenda you're gonna go

with Donald J Trump it's like putting Tom Brady in two minutes to go in the

fourth quarter and the Super Bowl you're bringing you're bringing the big guns in

there and even if the opposing side is going to lead to more participation on

their side that is still your best strategy if you're looking at a game

theory model so the president's got the energy of five people I suspect it he'll

be out they're over the next 90 days in a way

that will surprise everybody because of his stamina and his endurance and by the

way he likes it now you could see it on Saturday night

he was very you know he's very unplugged he's very comfortable in front of that

microphone in that audience and he's look I think he looked I think he likes

that a lot more than talking about Robert Muller and the Russian

investigation thanks it that way yeah Anthony scary Moochie thank you great to

be here some more breaking news US ambassador nikki Haley UN nikki Haley

speaking exclusively to Fox News on the bold new action the Trump team is taking

against Iran here was part of what she said on that they can play politics all

they want what we know was it was a bad deal we wanted to get out of the deal

and we did that and now they're paying the price

Richardson watching that's

you

Dobbs: Should Trump use his executive power to end the Russia probe? - Duration: 11:02.

let's start with now the re-emergence of or as a centerpiece if you will I in the

the conspiracy the corrupt conspiracy in the Department of Justice to to

absolutely subvert the presidency of President Trump well you know we had the

documents that we just uncovered earlier this week showing that the FBI had cut

off Steele supposedly in November of 2016 well that was no impediment to or

continuing to work with steel and the and and as corruptly the FBI taking

still information from Steele through or while pretending that they were cutting

them off and not telling the FISA courts any of this you have the corrupt

relationship war had with fusion chief PS as a result of the conflict as a

result of his wife working there and then of course you had the conflict with

the conflict of interest that was potentially criminal with struck and

company who were out to get Trump for political purposes I don't understand

why the smaller operation is allowed to continue

given that the it's built on sand and it's corruption I don't think there's

any question in the mind out that's gotta be stopped yeah um I don't think

there's any question and the minds of most in the public certainly makan

flicks that Muller represents in being named Special Counsel in accepting the

post that Rosenstein have swept aside as he named Muller and the continued

conduct of the Special Counsel which is as the president has at the outset said

it is a witch-hunt there's been no evidence we have five congressional

committees that have produced no evidence of any collusion this is it is

is the president said it's an illegal sham and the Republican leadership we're

there on Capitol Hill and leading the Senate

the house they are not doing a thing to support this president and that is

beyond comprehension you know the prayer the the the

collusion investigation is over and the media doesn't want to report it but the

Special Counsel himself has issued a series of indictments against Russians

and others about collusion issues there was no collusion with any Americans

knowingly with the Russians related to anything about the campaign so what else

is there to investigate in terms of collusion so there's a Landon who will

stop it how does it in because it is a travesty I think the president needs to

take executive or legal steps to stop it at this point because the Justice

Department isn't going to do it but look at this ridiculous man of Ford

prosecution that's going on out in a special counsel's office we don't need a

special counsel to do that the fact that they're letting the special counsel

target Manta Ford over the cost of his suits and mortgage fraud and bankruptcy

and takes steps to control Muller and constrain him you know even in a

reasonable way to focus on what he was hired to do well the the judge in that

case has had a number of opportunities to stop the the trial to recognize that

it was a contrivance the prosecution by the Special Counsel from dead files in

the Department of Justice which had already made decisions not to process

not to prosecute manna fort so it is remarkable in that regard it has nothing

to do with the president nor the campaign that manna fort led for several

months in the summer of 2016 nonetheless this is a judiciary that is

showing itself to be every bit as corrupt as the leadership of the

Department of Justice we are watching partisan decisions being taken by judges

and it depends on who appointed them as to what one can expect from them in the

courtroom and in their decisions and in their rulings it's a travesty but the

the question remains you and I both know and I think most Americans know that the

decision by the president if he were to intervene

individually and personally where there would be the firing of Rosenstein if it

would be the firing of the Attorney General or Bob Muller that's a highly

politically charged decision and he doesn't have a party united behind him

to do so because the Rhinos like Ryan in particular and McConnell and they're

like that sit in either the Senate or the house will not support this

president who is leading this party as it has not been led in modern times you

know he may not have the support of some Republicans in the Congress but he has

the support of the American people I don't think there's much interest in

seeing this investigation continue the there's the argument I think has taken

hold with a good portion of the electorate if not the majority that this

is a politicized investigation that needs to end and he'll look the media

goes crazy no matter whatever the President does he should do the right

thing here the media will go crazy for a minute and a half and then move on to

something else yeah I think that the I would disagree with you in the latter

part of your conjecture and that is the National left-wing media is absolutely

intent on subversion of this president they live watch watch the CNN broadcast

watch NBC watch The Washington Post sprout Shh there's six to eight stories

a day that are decidedly and pointedly negative about the Trump administration

and personally attacking the President of the United States these are not

accidents that kind of vitriol and hatred in support of an ideologue

ideological purpose will not abate easily in my opinion Tom thanks so much

for being with us we appreciate it Tom federal judicial watch ignorance

after ignorance and after ignoring those calls for impeachment from the last they

the left the National left-wing media was so outraged over chairman Nunez

saying it was shameful that he would try to shield the president oh that's

terrible that Republicans would want to protect

this president in the minds at least of the

national left-wing media the fact is Devon Nunez was absolutely correct and

the left as usual well far far gone joining me now eric

Eggers he's research director at the Government Accountability Institute he's

author of the newly released book fraud how the Left plans to steal the next

election Eric it's good to have you with us and voter fraud we hear the left

continue to dismiss the very idea saying it's the numbers are too small it's it's

not a matter that you should that we should worry our little heads about you

found quite a different result that's right LuAnn it's great to be here

at the Government Accountability Institute we decided because we're tired

of hearing talk about this so-called myth of voter fraud we want to see what

the actual evidence was so we did an unprecedented look at the national level

using all the publicly available voter rolls we could gather and we hired a

data expert and contracted with a commercial database and what we found

was stunning we found in the state of Florida what appear to be over 2,100

examples of double voting that means that 2,100 Floridians cast one ballot in

2016 and then cast the second ballot in a different state and as I'm sure you

and your viewers remember that's nearly four times the margin of victory in the

2000 presidential election so this idea that voter fraud doesn't occur on a

scale to sway significant elections it's clearly just not true well I I remember

clearly but much of the audience is too young to Rick I'm sure but everybody's

aware of one thing when the Supreme Court starts signing statistics that say

that the potential for voter fraud is immense

that is something that we all can focus on clearly and unequivocally and the

number of double state registrations to vote the number of registered voters out

numbering those who would be eligible to vote because of their age I mean it's

striking and it is deeply concerning it absolutely is Lou the Supreme Court

cited statistics as you noted that says there's no a three million voter

registrations in this country of people who

registered to vote in more than one state and even the president's own

President Obama's own Commission on election administration in 2013 noted

that 16 million voter registrations are significantly inaccurate or flawed in

some states it's up to fifteen percent or one in seven and you talk about the

issues of nationwide irregularity there's two hundred and forty eight

counties in this nation that have more registered voters than legal residents

of voting age so clearly there's a problem in this idea that there aren't

organized efforts paid for by George Soros to go out and manipulate those

exploitation that's just inconsistent with what I

found in my book and and and and the fact is that Soros is spending tens of

millions of dollars to pursue an election system that would be the envy

of the or the KGB or the SRU they if they're trying to meddle we have

enough people colluding with the Russians in that effort certainly

inspired by George Soros his money and the organizations that he is funding

yeah you hear a lot about this idea of Russian collusion in fact when I told

people I was writing a book on voter fraud is that oh so it's gonna be about

the Russians right and look we should clearly be concerned about any threat to

election security but I think it's silly to assume that somehow Russians are less

concerned about manipulating American political outcomes than the Democrats

yeah I do think by the way that we should know and be concerned about it we

should be safeguarding the integrity of these elections there should be

Republicans and Democrats at every polling booth in the country polling

place in the country to assure the integrity but you and I both know that's

not going to be sufficient and these these two parties had better be certain

this time that they're doing everything they can your book will help in that

effort Eric we thank you for being with us come back soon we'll continue to to

watch very carefully the the issues surrounding the integrity of this

election very important thank you very much Eric Edgar's

you

Omarosa Manigault Secretly Recorded Donald Trump and Played Tape for Others: Report - News Today - Duration: 3:38.

President Donald Trump's former aide and confidant Omarosa Manigault Newman allegedly secretly recorded conversations she had with the president in the West Wing — and she's played the tapes for others, The Daily Beast reports

An unnamed source told The Daily Beast that they had listened to least one of Manigault Newman's recordings featuring Trump, and multiple sources familiar with the tapes told the outlet that it appears to be Trump's voice on the recordings

The sources described the conversations they heard as inoffensive and commonplace

The news of the "Omarosa tapes" comes as Manigault Newman prepares to release her "tell-all" book, Unhinged, on Aug

14.  A spokesperson for Simon & Schuster, the book's publisher, declined to tell the Daily Beast whether the recordings exist

"Without commenting on the specific contents of UNHINGED," the spokesperson said, "we are confident that Omarosa Manigault-Newman can substantiate her highly anticipated account of life inside the Trump White House

"  Neither The White House nor Manigault Newman immediately responded to PEOPLE's requests for comment

Manigualt Newman, who previously starred on Trump's reality TV show The Apprentice, left her role as communications director for the White House Office of Public Liaison in January 2017 — and it is unclear whether her departure was voluntary

At the time, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a statement saying that Manigualt Newman had resigned, but in February, White House Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah said that she had been fired

Manigault Newman denies that claim.  Trump commented on the matter at the time, tweeting, "Thank you Omarosa for your service! I wish you continued success

"  Manigault Newman's secret recordings may come as a surprise to Trump, who once called his former aide "a loyal friend!"  After leaving the White House, the longtime Trump ally joined the reality show Celebrity Big Brother, where she revealed in February that she would never vote for Trump again "in a million years

"  Manigault Newman's alleged tapes follow a scandal that broke less than a month ago in which Trump's former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, released a secretly taped conversation he'd had with Trump

In the recording, the two men appear to be discussing a payment to former Playboy model Karen McDougal, who claims she had an affair with Trump in 2006

Trump has denied the affair.

Shocking Wiretapping Report Convicts Obama Of This Crime Against Trump

Donald Trump sent pundits into fits of hysteria when he tweeted that Barack Obama wiretapped

Trump Tower.

The so-called "mainstream" media kicked into overdrive to smear Trump as a liar.

But a new bombshell report just proved everyone's worst fears.

On March 4th, Trump tweeted that he found out Obama wiretapped Trump Tower.

The D.C. swamp – led by former FBI Director James Comey – claimed there was no evidence

to back Trump up.

But CNN shocked the political world when they reported that the Obama administration had

former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort under surveillance using a secret FISA warrant.

The administration was spying on Manafort before and after the election.

This time period included when Manafort lived in Trump Tower and was known to speak regularly

to Trump.

CNN reports:

"A SECRET ORDER AUTHORIZED BY THE COURT THAT HANDLES THE FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE SURVEILLANCE

ACT (FISA) BEGAN AFTER MANAFORT BECAME THE SUBJECT OF AN FBI INVESTIGATION THAT BEGAN

IN 2014.

IT CENTERED ON WORK DONE BY A GROUP OF WASHINGTON CONSULTING FIRMS FOR UKRAINE'S FORMER RULING

PARTY, THE SOURCES TOLD CNN.

THE SURVEILLANCE WAS DISCONTINUED AT SOME POINT LAST YEAR FOR LACK OF EVIDENCE, ACCORDING

TO ONE OF THE SOURCES.

THE FBI THEN RESTARTED THE SURVEILLANCE AFTER OBTAINING A NEW FISA WARRANT THAT EXTENDED

AT LEAST INTO EARLY THIS YEAR.

SOURCES SAY THE SECOND WARRANT WAS PART OF THE FBI'S EFFORTS TO INVESTIGATE TIES BETWEEN

TRUMP CAMPAIGN ASSOCIATES AND SUSPECTED RUSSIAN OPERATIVES.

SUCH WARRANTS REQUIRE THE APPROVAL OF TOP JUSTICE DEPARTMENT AND FBI OFFICIALS, AND

THE FBI MUST PROVIDE THE COURT WITH INFORMATION SHOWING SUSPICION THAT THE SUBJECT OF THE

WARRANT MAY BE ACTING AS AN AGENT OF A FOREIGN POWER."

But the wiretap provided no evidence of collusion.

CNN also reports:

"SOME OF THE INTELLIGENCE COLLECTED INCLUDES COMMUNICATIONS THAT SPARKED CONCERNS AMONG

INVESTIGATORS THAT MANAFORT HAD ENCOURAGED THE RUSSIANS TO HELP WITH THE CAMPAIGN, ACCORDING

TO THREE SOURCES FAMILIAR WITH THE INVESTIGATION.

TWO OF THESE SOURCES, HOWEVER, CAUTIONED THAT THE EVIDENCE IS NOT CONCLUSIVE."

Despite all the denials, it was true that the Obama administration spied on the Trump

campaign.

It's the worst scandal in American political history and Obama must answer for his role

on using the intelligence community to wiretap his political opponents as part of a fishing

expedition.

What are your thoughts?

Should Obama be held accountable?

Trump-Putin Helsinki Summit Private Topics Leaked - Monologue - Duration: 3:13.

-Guys, across the country last night there were a bunch of

primary elections for Congress, and President Trump said he was

pulling for Colton Underwood, David Ravitz, and Chris Randone.

And then his staff was like, "Sir, those are contestants

on 'Bachelor in Paradise.'"

[ Laughter ]

[ As Trump ] "I'm so rooting for them, they're great."

[ Normal voice ] I saw that there was a very close special election in Ohio.

And before the results were final, Trump sent a tweet

congratulating the Republican for winning.

When people called him out. Trump said, "Sorry,

for years I have struggled with premature congratulations."

[ Laughter and applause ]

[ As Trump ] Yes, yes.

[ Normal voice ] I heard that Donald Trump, Jr.

called into a radio show the other day.

But when they asked about his Trump Tower meeting with

the Russians, his phone suddenly had technical difficulties.

[ Light laughter ]

Or as "Vladimir Putin put it, [ As Putin ] "You're welcome.

[ Laughter and applause ]

I take the phone."

[ Normal voice ] Speaking of Russia, I saw that a list

of topics that Putin wanted to discuss with President Trump

last month in Helsinki was just leaked.

And I don't think that they were on the same page

going into that meeting. Let me show you what I mean.

First, Putin wanted to talk about the advantages

of disarmament, while Trump wanted to talk about

the advantages of learning what "disarmament" means.

[ Laughter ]

Next, Putin wanted to talk about maintaining a sense

of cooperation as opposed to trading petty bargaining chips,

while Trump wanted to talk about chips.

[ Laughter ]

[ As Trump ] What's your favorite?

[ Normal voice ] And finally, Putin wanted to talk about

strengthening our ties,

while Trump wanted to talk about lengthening our ties.

Yeah, he was very --

[ Laughter and applause ]

Listen to this, guys. The Trump Administration

just announced more tariffs on Chinese goods like tractors,

iron, and lubricating oils.

In response, Americans said, "Please don't say 'Trump'

and 'lubricating oils' in the same sentence."

[ Laughter and applause ]

I saw that Trump has been criticizing the way California

has handled their recent wildfires.

And now one of his tweets about wildfires from 2015

has actually resurfaced. Take a look at this.

It says...

[ Laughter ]

He tweeted at Smokey the Bear, yeah.

Well, it didn't stop there.

Then he tweeted...

[ Laughter and applause ]

He loves both. Oh, yeah!

-Kool-Aid and walls.

Then he tweeted, "Why does Mr. Peanut...

[ Laughter and applause ]

And finally, he tweeted...

[ Laughter ]

He's pretty worked up right now.

[ Laughter and applause ]

Here's a weird story. There is a restaurant here

in New York that serves a smoked watermelon

that looks just like a ham. Check it out.

Yeah.

It's perfect for all those times you're biting into a juicy ham

and think, "I just wish this were a hot, watery fruit."

[ Laughter and applause ]

I just wish.

And finally, I saw that the University of Delaware was

just named America's number one party school.

[ Cheers and applause ]

While America's worst party school is, once again,

homeschool. We have a great show tonight.

Give it up for The Roots!

"Mad Dog" Mattis Crushes Deep State Plan To Take Out Trump With One Move - Duration: 16:03.

"Mad Dog" Mattis Crushes Deep State Plan To Take Out Trump With One Move

The Deep State has been angling to remove Donald Trump from office from the day he won

the election.

They even set in motion plans to use illegal leaks to generate momentum for Trump's impeachment.

But Secretary of Defense James "Mad Dog" Mattis just shut that plan down.

At one point there was an average of one national security leak for every working day of the

Trump administration.

These leaks drove the fake news "collusion with Russia" narrative that led to the appointment

of special counsel Robert Mueller.

Critics claim Mueller's investigation is being conducted for the sole purpose of digging

up any kind of dirt Congress can use to impeach Trump.

Mattis has had enough of these leaks and took action in the form of a warning he sent to

all Defense Department employees.

The Daily Caller reports:

"SECRETARY OF DEFENSE JAMES MATTIS WARNED DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE PERSONNEL NOT TO LEAK

CLASSIFIED INFORMATION IN A TUESDAY MEMO OBTAINED BY MILITARY TIMES.

"ALL HANDS MUST BE ALERT TO PREVENT UNAUTHORIZED DISCLOSURE OF NON-PUBLIC INFORMATION FOR ANY

REASON, WHETHER BY IMPLIED ACKNOWLEDGMENT OR INTENTIONAL RELEASE," MATTIS SAID.

"MISCONDUCT CANNOT BE TOLERATED AND SUSPECTED OR CONFIRMED DISCLOSURE MUST BE REPORTED AT

ONCE."

THE PENTAGON IS A "DEPARTMENT AT WAR" AND REMINDED ALL DOD PERSONNEL OF THEIR OATHS

OF OFFICE, MATTIS UNDERSCORED.

"DIVULGING INFORMATION IN VIOLATION OF THESE PRECEPTS PLACES AT RISK TROOPS IN HARM'S

WAY, OUR INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS, AND OUR TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANTAGES OVER OUR FOES,"

HE SAID."

The Deep State leakers' days are numbered.

General Mattis sent an unmistakable warning that their sabotage will not be tolerated

as it is a direct threat to the security of the nation.

Do you think Mattis will root out the leakers?

Devin Nunes Admits Trump Committed A Crime In Secretly Recorded Tapes - Duration: 5:24.

On Rachel Maddow's show on Wednesday evening, she played tapes of Devon Nunes, one of the

biggest Trump supporters in the US House of Representative, at a fundraiser from July

30 where he kind of laid out his plan for obstruction of justice in order to protect

Donald Trump.

He also admitted that what Donald Trump did was absolutely a crime.

Now before we get into the clip in just a moment, it should be pointed out that this

clip was obtained at a fundraiser, obtained by a group called Fuse Washington.

They're a liberal group.

They paid for entrance in there, secretly recorded it.

It was July 30 in Spokane, Washington.

Here's what Devon Nunes had to say.

Now if somebody thinks that my campaign or Cathy's campaign is colluding with the Chinese,

or you name the country, hey, could happen, it would be a very bad thing if Cathy was

getting secrets from the Portuguese, let's say, just because I'm Portuguese, my family

was.

So Cathy's getting secret information from the Portuguese [inaudible 00:01:10].

But, ultimately, let's say the Portuguese came and brought her some stolen emails, and

she decided to release those.

Okay, now we have a problem, right?

Because somebody stole the emails, gave them to Cathy, Cathy released them.

Well, if that's the case, then that's criminal.

But also, on things that came up in the House on Rosenstein impeachment thing.

And it appears from an outsider that the Republicans were not supported.

Yeah, well, so it's a bit complicated, right?

And I say that because you have to ... So we only have so many months left, right?

So if we actually vote to impeach, okay, what that does is that triggers the Senate then

has to take it up.

Well, and you have to decide what you want right now because the Senate only has so much

time.

Do you want them to drop everything and not confirm the Supreme Court justice, the new

Supreme Court justice?

So that's part of why.

I don't think you have ... You're not getting from, and I've said publicly Rosenstein deserves

to be impeached.

I mean, so, I don't think you're gonna get any argument from most of our colleagues.

The question is the timing of it right before the election.

Also, the Senate has to start–

The Senate would have to drop everything they're doing and start with impeachment on Rosenstein.

And then take the risk of not getting Kavanaugh confirmed.

So it's not a matter that any of us like Rosenstein.

It's a matter of timing.

So therein lies ... So it's like your classic Catch-22 situation where ... I mean, we were

at a ... This puts us in such a tough spot.

If Sessions won't un-recuse and Mueller won't clear the president, we're the only ones,

which is really the danger.

That's why I keep, and thank you for saying it by the way.

I mean we have to keep all these seats.

We have to keep the majority.

If we do not keep the majority, all of this goes away.

Okay, super long clip there, I understand.

So I'm gonna try to make this as brief as possible.

First and foremost, Nunes admitted that if you received emails that were stolen by a

foreign country and you then release them, then yes.

You've committed a crime.

If you were involved in any step of that process, that is criminal activity, according to Devon

Nunes and we do know for a fact that that did happen with the Donald Trump campaign.

So Nunes right there admitted that his favorite guy, the guy he's bent the law for, pretty

much by trying to keep him one step ahead of the Senate and the House investigations

and the Muller investigation, admitted that his guy committed a crim.

But more importantly, this stuff about impeaching Rosenstein and getting session to un-recuse

himself and stopping this Robert Muller investigation.

Those right there are very clear admissions that Nunes' intent is to obstruct justice

in order to protect Donald Trump.

We have a motive.

We have a plan.

We have enough to bring charges against Devon Nunes at this point.

Now, we do have some progressive, liberal, democrat, whatever you want to them members

of the House of Representative who today and even after the clip aired, have been calling

for Devon Nunes to resign.

Resignation's not good enough.

This man needs to be led away in handcuffs, making him the second Republican of the week

to be led away in handcuffs.

But that's what needs to happen.

This is very clearly obstruction of justice.

We know that it is Nunes on the tape.

We see what he admitted there.

We can hear it.

We know what happened.

There's plenty of witnesses there.

This is a slam dunk case right now.

Prosecutors should be working at this very moment to take Devon Nunes out of the game,

out of politics, out of our daily conversations because what he admitted on that tape is 100%

obstruction of justice.
