Trump news on Youtube Aug 18 2018

well forget about whether the president is going after John Brennan's free

speech today a look at whether social media is doing the same to yours welcome

everybody happy Saturday on the old Cavuto live this morning and focused on

a series of tweets for the President of the United States this morning at issue

who is really censoring whom now to hear the president tell it he's not the

problem the media is and more to the point social media is that's to silence

conservative opinion not so fast to rein in any other opinion and specifically

again the president laments the selective rage over what does and does

not constitute bias to Elsa Barbara with the president of Berkeley Heights New

Jersey on the tweets they're already creating a storm Ellison Heaney oh yeah

president Trump is accusing social media in general of discriminating against

conservative voices specifically Republican and conservative voices

speaking loudly and clearly for the Trump administration he says quote we

won't let that happen they are closing down the opinions of many people on the

right while at the same time doing nothing to others in a second tweet II

called censorship a very dangerous thing and absolutely impossible to police in a

third tweet he continued quote too many voices are being destroyed some good and

some bad and that cannot be allowed to happen who is making the choices because

I can already tell you that too many mistakes are being made I've reached out

to the White House to ask for clarification on those tweets and

specifically what the president meant if he is calling for or planning to call

for any official action in regards to these allegations so far we have not

heard back from the White House but this is not a new issue for Republicans in

the past an issue that has come up is so-called shadow banning President Trump

spoke out against what he saw as unfair treatment of conservative voices in the

social media world Republicans claimed that their tweets were being secretly

hidden from other Twitter users Twitter said that this was an issue with their

search algorithm essentially a tech issue and that they fixed

they denied any sort of shadow banning and said they identified an issue where

some accounts weren't Auto suggested and searched even when people were searching

for their specific name but they said that it only impacted those Auto search

suggestions some lawmakers wanted Twitter CEO to appear on Capitol Hill

and testify about that specific issue in September Jack Dorsey is expected to

appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee but in regards to Russian

interference in u.s. elections top executives from Facebook are also

expected to be there again the focuses on election interference foreign actors

trying to interfere in US elections but as is often the case with hearings on

Capitol Hill Neal a lawmaker sometimes asked about other things and if the

president keeps tweeting about this there's probably a good chance this

issue could come up in that September hearing I think there's an excellent

chance of that Ellison thank you very very much Ellison Barbara with the

president New Jersey now does the president have a point it regardless

whether you're on the right or the left is their disproportionate interest in

silencing those on the right than there is on the left because of all of these

social media agencies and companies that have been reporting their new standards

and practices not a one has tried to rein in on thought coming from the left

to Catalina magazine publisher Kathy aroo-whoo is no doubt outraged foxnews

contributors John Wakefield and Jonah's max Faris and cat 10 in the meantime

here I'd be remiss if I didn't thank well I'm still here David Asman

interests Regan for all their hard work when I was out they've reminded me to

thank them Noah very happy to thank them I totally filled the president's saying

look it's not fair it's not right what do you think I think he has a point look

anytime you start just censoring things there's gonna be some human bias that

has just interjected into it it's gonna be an inexact science I think Alex Jones

is a complete idiot he has a he claims that Sandy Hook was faked or alleged

that could be he claims that Michelle Obama could be a man I mean I hate that

kind of stuff but Facebook also has a flat earth society page and a Bigfoot

believers page so if there's nothing illegal about being a problem a big

thing I'm the president of I follow it with you Bill Maher little

more aggressive on that very very subject he was commenting on this last

night can we show that if you're a liberal you're supposed to be for free

speech that's free speech for the beats you hates that's what free speech means

we're losing the thread of the concepts that are important to this country if

you care about the real American or you don't and if you do which goes for every

side I don't like Alex Jones but Alex Jones

gets to speak everybody gets to speak Kathy what do you think uh well yeah I

mean we most of us don't agree with Alex Jones I think but I yeah it didn't even

work they say was a temporary halt it didn't even make sense and it made him

even more popular playing us more followers but it reminds me a lot when

he said the liberal social media is just like Nixon with the liberal media it's

that wasn't that liberal media it's liberal social media and social media

one Nixon of course so it's a new it's a new wave of calling these people that

come out against your policies or with you just let's go again it's us versus

them so it just it's very reminiscent of like the Nixon days going against the

the liberal media which it's not true the media is half and half I sat in that

press room in the White House and it was half and half really it really was it

really was everyone's entitled their opinion but I haven't had thing I wonder

about but I do want to question cat you won that's the president in a series of

tweets talked about how this is distinguished from even the media that

he doesn't flip over it's you know fake as CNN and MSNBC and yet I do not ask

that their sick behavior be removed I get used to it and watch with a grain of

salt or don't watch at all can't we just leave it at that you know in other words

if you don't like what you're seeing don't censor what you're hearing or

seeing just don't don't don't accept it I think that that would be a better

solution I also understand however that these are companies individual private

companies that have the right to censor whatever they want to censor if they

wanted to censor me for no reason then they'd have the right to do so I don't

have a constitutional right to tweet I do think that it is a problem though I

think that there is what we censored what you said here I would have

preferred I mean News is also a private company I also

don't have a right to speak on Fox News but if Facebook denies the opportunity

for points of views that let's seem like yours cannot get out there as a private

company well of course it's a publicly traded company all right does it have

the right to do that the president questions whether it does any question

whether you're on the right of let Bill Maher included John ley field included

no I agree that it's completely unfair I agree that there is bias I just don't

know when he says he's not going to allow it what exactly that means that's

a question that I would definitely have for the president okay well he's

accepting I think what is is equal to fake news one of the things Jonas who

goes on with fake noses is it fake if you don't like what you're hearing other

presidents have problems with the press in the past I was surprised to learn

that one of the more popular presidents we had in the post-world War two our

John F Kennedy had problems enormous problems with the press so this goes way

back but I'm wondering where you draw the line the John F Kennedy reference is

interesting because some people said he only became present because of TV became

the thing well you can almost argue to Trump became president because of social

media it's he's like the social media King he's much better at that Hillary

Clinton wasn't no question about it so it's a little strange he's picking it

out as something that needs to be dealt with whether he uses it better than

anybody as far as okay dear foot let me get back to cats point about therefore

private companies if they all learn someday are getting any bigger than they

already are I can't even imagine that is possible there's gonna be a point where

it's like a it's like your power company can't cut you off there's certain

regular certain rules they have to give you there's nowhere else to speak once

they control everything it's not that far yet and no one's

keeping Alex Jones from having a website and the government's not stopping them

from speaking so we haven't crossed over yet but I think we're going in that

direction you don't find it troubling that those who control this those

immediate would sooner cut off Alex Jones and maybe four perfectly valid

reasons they find of advances or whatever but they wouldn't provide a

tenth the zeal to go after left-leaning sites that seems to be the state but

that is because there is both parties are they make one left-leaning site that

I won't explain this way both parties the social media companies and Alex

Jones are at the end of the day driven by profits they're both making money for

misinformation Google Facebook has made more money from crypto coin ads

from ads from Russian garbage they don't care because they make money from fake

BOTS from the users and Alex Jones makes money he's not just a guy speak he's not

like Hitler was just trying to change the world through his crazy thoughts

he's trying to sell nutritional supplements and t-shirts being by

spreading misinformation to people with the internet and a bad job of is making

it difficult for people who may be should be smarter but maybe shouldn't be

so misinformed no I think you're absolutely right but they generally go

to where I draw a distinction is who is judging that then I mean we have our own

personal biases where I'll do and and and if do we let that come into the

picture here I don't see how you couldn't anytime you have a human

judging something like this you have to this all the you lines I've seen judging

this John and that social media spectrum have been targeting right-leaning

sites right-leaning sources right I agree with that completely and I think

they are and I think that's the bias that they brought into it before they

walked into that equation I think there's a point there when you talk

about where does it stop it stop soon they start promoting violence and they

start promoting terrorism but where does that point in as far as free speech

becomes hate speech and that's the slippery slope that they're talking

about how did you advise them County how would you advise them on this subject

but to get away from the politics of it too as he said the next leap which is

violence well I think the New York Times pointed out that they're confused they

actually don't even know they said Jack Dorsey was saying it's about the values

of Twitter and they were saying she should he have said rules of Twitter the

rules not values what do you mean values what values does Twitter have what

values this is a site that started about people talking about what they had for

breakfast the CEOs don't even know what they're talking about they're not even

using the right words to describe how their police saying what's going on they

don't know how to believe in your news from a site that has the most cat videos

in the world there's got to be some personal responsibility sometime with

cats

there's got to be some personal responsibility from people that look at

this stuff and don't do any doodles all right with a little lesson from the

last election and then people are worried about this election got is that

more that stuff's going to put voice turn on us whether it's from the left or

right all I'm saying and I agree with pretty much everything and everyone it

said here just show the same aggressiveness in policing what's coming

in from questionable sources on the left as you do on the right that's what I'm

saying I agree but I think that a lot of the

people that work at these companies are liberals so there is gonna be as you

brought up personal bias in terms of what does and does not get censored

that's completely unfair and I think that the solution is for people who are

conservative or libertarian to continue to speak out against it and put public

pressure on them to not continue to do that well don't watch it don't pay

attention to you know the president said now I don't know whatever he practices

what he preaches cuz he no matter stop tweeting all right then he knows well

enough what they're saying on MSNBC and CNN and some some shows on this network

so maybe you can't control that what do you think I think the internet companies

need to do a better job of making it easier to see what's a lie or not the

whole ranking on popularity concept that drives google is why it's sort of

difficult for some people to determine that vaccines really aren't bad or or

you know there's a flow you can have a flat earth in and in a wiki because

you'd fall off the Flat Earth it's not that easy for somebody who's searching

for those terms to determine that there's that's what's so crazy about it

like it seems balanced because there's a lot of traffic going to the crazy sites

and they get upgraded and if you do some term searches you actually might start

to believe this garbage and that's I think the Internet companies going to

put profits second and get back to this issue of missing net that it's not a

left or right wing thing the lies on the internet they were just going out to the

lies of Alex Jones that we've one thing it seems to be just a very quick thing

when they all got together to Isaac right when crank but if they focus on

just the truce and the lies and make that easy for the consumer of the

internet to but we have our own definition what's up right it's almost

like pornography it's like who gets to kill gets to say what it is no I look

for more security clearances on the chopping block and what would be so

wrong if they are we were just getting into this and Fox and Friends a brief

hit with them that there are better than four million of these security clearance

passes out there four million that's quite a bit after this

MORE THAN 300 NEWSPAPERS JOIN NATIONWIDE EDITORIAL RESPONSE TO TRUMP'S MEDIA ATTACKS - Duration: 12:11.

Williams Jesse Watters and a pillowcases her parachute dana perino the five

today 300 newspapers coordinated articles criticizing President Trump

just after he'd accused them of coordinating articles criticizing

President Trump and nobody read them if jerks like me weren't talking about it

would you even know yes another public display of the press exercising their

right to irrelevance remember when the New York Times ran an editorial saying

you should vote for Hillary and the rest of the media followed now they say

Trump's blocking free speech as they all screamed this in unison Trump accuses

them of groupthink and they respond with groupthink now since the election the

media's been one malfunctioning car alarm loud relentless and broken this

after sleeping through Obama's terms ignoring Iran the DOJ the IRS

immigration while dreaming of Hillary and now he's gone their dreams are

shattered and now they're wide awake because Trump is their red bull what

phonies they gave Trump endless air time while wringing their hands thinking it

was okay because Hillary had it in the pantsuit but the palooka you propped up

wasn't the empty can you thought he was while mocking Trump non-stop people

stopped caring about what you thought that red bull gored your butt and now

all you can do is blame him for what you helped do and they say

Trump targets all news not fake news which is fake news they ignored the

clarifications that are obvious to us no surprise remember when one of us would

criticize Obama or Hillary we'd be called a bigot I remember that like it

was yesterday probably because it was you sought to silence opinion through

fear and smear and now you pretend you're the victim you're not oppressed

just depressed get over it all right Jedidiah welcome back to the show I know

you were in Italy I hear this wonderful place that was your honeymoon was enough

gelato for all of us I don't see it anywhere Jenny Diane it was delicious

fantastic so a lot oh but I made it back it's a press speaking truth to power or

are they just whining to each other they're so nauseating this is why people

can't stand the media it's like they say oh we had to write

to remind people of the important role that journalists play if you have to

write an editorial to remind people of the important role maybe you're doing

something wrong there might be a problem I just think it's so funny because he he

doesn't criticize freedom of the press he's not attacking freedom of the press

he's it's backing journalists who make it their job to every day go out and

with bated breath wait for something to criticize about him and it's not it's

not about Donald Trump they've been doing this too they did it

to george w bush they did it to Dick Cheney they did it to Sarah Palin the

problem is now they have a guy that calls them out and they don't know what

to do about it and it's so crazy to me that what you said before the

collectivist mentality he's out there saying you guys are all against me you

guys are on a mission to take me out and they in response are saying let's all

group together and collectively tell him no we're important that's the point you

are making his point thank you journalists again for making

his point and once again he's not I've seen him pay homage to many journalists

he doesn't make a sweep he's tired and people out there are saying yeah you

know what he's tired of it he's speaking out we wish other people before him

would have spoken out and when he says stuff like the presses you know the

enemy and people are at home saying you know what we've been waiting for someone

to call this out for so long thank you for saying that it's not the press at

large but when you're out there saying I'm an objective journalist and you're

not and you're making it your job every day to take down the guy in the White

House somebody should call you out and I thanked him for doing that

this is ridiculous but I you know I mean to me when he calls the American press

enemy of the American people he never said it now he said these wonderful blue

eyes the enemy of the American people he has threatened even to change the libel

laws we've gone away from briefings at the White House and you know what I

think are appropriate for the editorial sections of these newspapers not the

news section it was the editorials to say you know what we're not the American

of the American people we are the American people the American

people in fact America is founded on the idea of a free vigorous press nobody's

had that well hang on drop is adamant purpose of the press is to be an

adversary to people in power and hold them accountable actually to a guy who

lies and lies and yourself what's the big deal yesterday in talking about John

Brennan revoking the security easkey says oh this was all about protecting

national intelligence and then he turns around tells The Wall Street Journal

which didn't run this editorial by the way The Wall Street Journal's them oh

yeah that was about the Russia investigation because he's one of the

guys who started so somebody's got to be a watchdog and called Trump on his lies

and yet you guys want a city like Britain and they tell you the danger

this over half of Republicans listening to this now say they agree with Trump

and guess what okay it invites the threat this is what one of the papers

said invites the threat of violence against people doing their job which is

to report the news the violence against what you mean when auntie Fah went after

that reporter Jessie yes I am amazed that now we're demanding that all of our

politicians tell the truth that's incredible to me because your health

care yeah and no one called him out on that oh no position against Barack Obama

they loved Barack Obama Obama joked about it the White House Correspondents

in her oh you guys are my base and everybody laughed and was drinking

champagne stop pretending like they were tough on Obama

they weren't they'd have a lot more credibility if every administration that

came around they were this adversarial but they don't and they're not that's

the problem because Donald Trump has exposed them as dishonest Democrat party

hats let's give the media right now or extensions of the Democratic Party back

they give him no credit like for anything good he does and deny him all

credit for anything he does that's everything is framed as something he's

done as evil is wrong as backwards and he's not given a fair shake so when he

says we you guys are the enemy of the people what he's saying is you guys are

didn't I'm the truth to the American people

you're feeding them spin you're fitting them dishonest propaganda to help the

Democratic Party you're not shooting straight well and why they get that so

upset is because their credibility rests upon the fact that they pretend to be

independent and when he says you're not independent and you're lying about that

they can't handle it they can dish it out but they can't take the only thing

the king wants is somebody who will adore him who will honor him Donald

what's the most enchanting thing about this for a second together America

number one talk show in America rush limbaugh so easy on Obama number one

newspaper in America Wall Street Journal so easy on Obama number one cable

network in America Fox News so easy slow this thing down everybody like get to

the happy place Dana I am convinced that when the three hundred papers did this

it reached at least three hundred editors because I swear no one would

know about this if I hadn't I'll be slightly contrarian oh no you know I

love the meat I love news I love journalism I feel like I'm adult enough

mature enough to be able to identify when somebody at a certain other Network

stands up and makes the story about himself versus something that is amazing

like there's some great journalism being done in Long formats at in new formats

like on podcast there's a really good stuff that else a lot of it doesn't have

anything to do with President Trump there's a lot of good stuff out there

and let a thousand flowers bloom the First Amendment is includes the freedom

of the press for a reason I believe in the Constitution I think our founding

fathers understood that as we've all been saying the adversarial relationship

is going to be there but it is the most important thing I don't mind if they did

the editorials it's fine it may be it doesn't have that much of an effect

except for maybe to get us riled up and but also he has gone after the media

it's pretty viciously sometimes deservedly but you know he likes to call

himself a counter-puncher what other people can be counter punchers - and if

they can counter punch with an editorial so be it I have to accept that it was a

counter punch by mob they did it together and they all sound the same he

goes it just makes him look better because he's lone and I still maintain

he's talking about fake news not the whole news can we just run what you want

an example one of the media and how they feel about Trump and how they're in

collusion with the Democratic Party John Heilemann take it away describe Trump I

would like a pollster to test this question how many people in the

Republican Party think that it would be okay for Donald Trump to dissolve their

own grandparents I'm virtually certain that if it was a Donald Trump related

question you get like 10% that would be like Donald Trump has the power due

every once in cluding killed my parents okay that's totally sane Jedidiah

the thing is when the vast majority of the media is opposed to one side on a

pretty consistent basis own it I feel like they should own it when people who

are saying that their objective journalists are repeatedly taking one

side over another that's a problem that is the responsibility of any person with

a brain and a thinking person to come out and say this is not a fair and

balanced media that doesn't mean there aren't good journalists that doesn't

mean that journalists aren't supposed to be watchdogs and that doesn't mean that

everyone in the press is terrible but there is an inherent consistent

motivated agenda driven bias in much of the media it's incumbent upon people to

call out a technology you have to admit that no I don't any by the way the

example the good the example the Greg gave us of John Heilemann John helm is

not there as a journalist he's there as a commentator and he's offering his

opinion in much the way that we do at this table we have never said anything

like that no Bob would kill your parents at the chair I won't tell you what we've

said about this network about Obama's well let's not get quick did they have

any balance on that panel by the way I don't

not what the editor was about the editorial is about protecting the idea

that reporters can go out and do their job report the news and they're not

they're not the enemy of the American pair that was just one giant tantrum

that's all it was we they've been calling Trump the enemy of minorities of

the Constitution for the last year and half

so Trump that hits back and says no you're the enemy of the American people

and they say oh all right I thought that was quite all right coming up president

And joining us from New York as

well, Christina Greer.

My thanks to all, colonel, I

begin with you, Donald Trump

does things people don't like,

that's fine, it's a free

country.

Why has this gone beyond

something people don't like and

how it's dangerous?

>> It's not America.

This is not how we do things.

It's banana republic behavior an

insult to those.

In the United States of America,

we close ranks when it comes to

national security.

And it's not merely a matter of

keeping these people -- giving

them continued security

clearances so that they can give

us advice.

But in the case of a national

catastrophe, and a nuclear

attack on Washington, you've

also got this "B" team ready to

It goes on and on.

But the bottom line is this,

we've gotten to the point where

the only thing we're worried

about is, is it illegal?

It's not illegal.

The president can do this.

But it's profoundly unethical

and morally wrong.

While a government has never

way to hire try it for free today at zip recruiter comm slash Fox and we are

awaiting an opportunity to show you the president's remarks as they are being

gathered right now by a pool of reporters the president has mentioned as

he meets with his cabinet today that the Parkland shooting was the anniversary

was yesterday he's talking about school shootings and mentioned some reforms and

the administration has taken in response he's also talking about strengthening

mental health laws and procedures just giving you some notes that are coming

out of there and of course we saw upwards of 300 editorial boards

gathering with newspapers across the country today to write pro journalism

editorials and the president just told reporters quote if you'd like you can

stay if you'd like you can leave freedom of the press I so a little bit of the

color in the room there at the White House but they are hitting these topics

and might even be talking at some point if asked about the security clearance

revocation of CIA director John Brennan Lisa all right and another Fox News

Alert a verdict could come at any moment the jury now deliberating in the bank

fraud trial a former Trump campaign Chairman Paul Manafort prosecutors tell

the jurors the evidence is overwhelming but the defense slamming Robert Muller's

team's star witness manna forts former right-hand man Rick gates painting him

as a liar Peter Doocy is live at the federal courthouse in Alexandria

Virginia with all of the latest Peter Lisa the jury this morning at the judge

for a sort of change of venue they thought the jury room was too small to

deliberate so they asked if they could do it in the break room instead the

judge said that they could and that is where they are right now this is the

first day of deliberations and the judge TS Ellis wanted to make sure that the

six men and six women from Northern Virginia are focused more on the

evidence than on the sometimes salty comments he made to the Muller team

about their approach their witnesses and their evidence so the judge told the

jury since you're the sole and exclusive judges of the facts in this case you

should not construe any comments the court may have made

on any question or any questions to court may have asked witnesses as

expressing an opinion on the evidence the Muller team conceded in their

closing argument that their star witness palm Ana ports former business partner

Rick Gates might have some credibility problems prosecutor Greg Andres told

jurors they don't need to trust every word Gates said but they should put it

into context with the rest of the evidence and Andres run the Millar team

stressed that quote ladies and gentlemen the star witness is in this case is the

documents the man afford defense team meanwhile thinks they have wedged enough

doubt into the Muller team's case that jurors can't convict Richard Wessling

from the mana 4 team says quote the Constitution guarantees each and every

American that's charged with an offense the right to put the government to its

burden and it's your job to ensure that burden has been met there was a funny

moment in the court this morning that I actually had Paul Manafort laughing

after the jury wasn't paneled and they left the courtroom the judge TSL is

asked from the bench if mr. Trump was there and people gasped and everybody

was looking around the room as it turns out there's a prosecutor named mr. Trump

who was there for the next case back to you in New York

thank you Peter appreciate it and thanks for reporting on this Thanks all right

well fine as the jury deliberates what does a conviction mean for the

president nothing look at the charges they're bank fraud their failure to pay

your taxes failure register with the government properly I think if he's

found a violation that's you know something that he's clearly done wrong

and the justice is being served but has nothing to do with the president at all

I mean there's in fact judge Ellis has made it very clear that any allusion to

the president is out of bounds because none of the charges have anything to do

with them and I think that it kind of gets back to that to the underlying

point here which is that clearly he's get it going after all of these outside

of the area charges against manna for because he wants him to flip or to give

information exchange for some kind of conviction

sentencing to get the bigger fish in this case what he believes is the

president Wow so Maria Alice key the flipside that if man affords acquitted

what does that mean for the Mahler investigation well I'm not sure we can

draw a lot of you know lessons for the broader Muller investigation but is it a

blow to his ability to to bring charges I don't think so he's already brought

dozens of charges against both Americans and Russians on a whole host of issues

and we do know that people like Mike Flynn are cooperating and so we'll see

what else Rick Gates gave them as well he's cooperating probably just beyond

metaphor I think that Paul manna fors team really took an interesting tactic

to not bring any witnesses of their own they did not get a plea agreement mana

force seems to think he can beat this but he is facing hundreds of years in

jail time if he's convicted and I will say to Sean you know the president says

he hires the best people we've all known Nana for played a little fast and loose

and he brought him to run the campaign and well this isn't a surprising outcome

for a lot of people who've known Paul mana for I think look I wrote all about

this in my book that that man afford at the time we were heading into a

convention in Cleveland where there was this never Trump effort afoot to put a

new candidate on the ballot to release the delegates all this stuff man afford

going back to the Ford administration had done convert the last brokered

convention he is but he was brought in for a specific reason on a very specific

task to be a delegate counter at the convention at what could be potentially

an effort to undo the Doggett's to change the rules he had done dole Ford

Reagan I mean this is a guy who you can claim all these other business issues

about him or tax issues but when it came to understanding the delegate math and

brokered convention system this was the right guy Sean you know I've been asking

this question why didn't the FBI give the campaign a heads up if they were

looking at Paul Manafort you know they gave Hillary Clinton a heads up when

looking at things with with what was going on behind the scenes with her but

they didn't do the same Lindsey Graham Senator Lindsey Graham is saying and

he's writing a letter to Christopher ray this week the the current FBI director

why was there a difference I don't know I mean have helped I think

that I'm not familiar with what standard FBI procedure is in a criminal

investigation or I mean at that point maybe they didn't know I have a theory

got a correlation in just a theory but before the convention we weren't hearing

a lot about Russian pollution or Russian influence so if you look at the charges

Paul Manafort is up against today with the jury they have nothing to do with

being influenced by Russians from a political perspective or from being used

for espionage resources he's up against charges that have him operating on a

business level and not reporting taxes and being corrupt in that fashion so

maybe the FBI saw it as irrelevant to the campaign because it actually had

nothing to do with the campaign and everything to do and it doesn't which is

why the judge wouldn't let it enter it into the courtroom yeah let it be

entered into the courtroom it's it's an interesting kind of look at how things

were going on back then because you're talking about Paul man affords you know

resume coming in and he would be a guy that you would want right necessarily

for brutal convention he also had a history of representing dictators around

the world and yes he did a good job counting delegates but at some point

campaigns have to make decisions about who works for them again with all due

respect there are a number of people what about and so the the the thing

that's so fascinating Katie talks about this and mentioned this but back then

there was this idea that we weren't colluding with ourselves suddenly we win

and it's like that everyone wants to investigate every single person and

manufacture this whole idea of collusion up but at the time it was Hillary

Clinton that had taken money from the Russians Bill Clinton who had done deals

with with under rhenium so I mean if we're gonna bring up people I think one

of the things is missing in all of the context of this Russian investigation is

we still haven't figured out the other side of this what was going on with the

Clintons what was going on with the DLC well okay but up for every single thing

that's leaked out about this not once have we heard about somebody from the

Democratic side except for or I'm actually not sure of anybody actually

being investigated a question Tony Podesta leaving and we've got to get

going although I feel like this conversation could keep going for a

while okay go all right well a newspaper and

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is home state saying it's time for her to

give up her quest to become Speaker of the House again the paper calling it a

distraction and damaging to her party whether Pelosi will listen or not

plus the potential showdown between the president and robert muller

the big line in the sand now being drawn by one of the president's lead lawyers

and how this may end up before the Supreme Court stay tuned for all

well new developments and a potential showdown between the president and

robert muller special counsel Rudy Giuliani reportedly saying the

president's legal team is preparing to fight a potential subpoena from Muller

the former mayor and federal prosecutor telling the Washington Post quote we

would move to squash the subpoena and we're pretty much finished with our

memorandum opposing a subpoena Giuliani adding that trumps attorneys

are ready to argue it before the Supreme Court if it ever got there and Giuliana

reportedly expects veteran Washington lawyer Emmett flood to play a big role

in a legal flight flood joined the Trump legal team in May and he also served as

Bill Clinton's impeachment lawyer flood has reportedly cautioned the president

that a subpoena fight could be decided by the nation's highest court and that

would be unprecedented during the Clinton administration independent

counsel Kenneth Starr served President Bill Clinton with a subpoena but it was

withdrawn after Clinton agreed to testify so Sean Spicer where are we with

the subpoena fight yeah with all my I'm going to do an interview it's not gonna

do an interview and when is it gonna happen it's not gonna happen I'm not a

lawyer just to be clear but I think this is the posturing that you do ahead of

time you want to make it very clear what you will do what you won't do and you

lay that lay that groundwork out there so that's that's clearly with what Rudy

Giuliani is doing on behalf of the president's legal case is making sure

that he's publicly communicating to Muller we're willing to do this if

you're willing to give us this but all of this normally happens behind the

scenes I think there's a reason that publicly they're doing it the way they

are which is to make sure that people understand that they are willing to do

it but there are terms to do that and that it is being done in a way that

protects the president as any client would want you would never allow a

client to walk into something and just let it free you know free for all so I

think part of this is to make sure that people who even on both sides understand

why he's doing what he's doing or why he's not

so Lisa based on your background in public relations and communications is

can you pick up on what Sean said about this idea that the Trump team whether

it's his personal lawyers or the White House Counsel has been out front they've

actually been pretty successful about turning public opinion against the

Moller probe oh yeah and I think that was sort of the frustration yeah we've

seen it in polling of you know the tides shifting a little bit there and I do

think that depending on what happens with the mana for a case that could also

pack that as well if they're unsuccessful in bringing charges against

mana four people might sit back and say this is a big waste of time there I

think there's an increasing frustration with the time and the length of this

going on and the impact it's had on the president an ability for him to do his

job but I think the president the reason why there were changes in the legal team

is I think he was getting so sick and tired of the PR battle and feeling like

they weren't out there fighting it enough and all this really could be is

Giuliani and his team trying to get you know made more favorable concessions

with President Trump potentially sitting down we don't really know what the true

meaning is behind it so I will say that Murray brought up a moment ago how

man-of-war taking a big or his team is taking a big legal risk and I agree with

that I mean that by sort of resting your case without showing any witnesses

you're willing to to put a that's a pretty big game another one that being

said if he wins if mana forts successful I think from a purely PR and political

standpoint that's a huge blow to Muller I don't think it has anything to do with

the president either way but I think from a from a public standpoint you say

you went after this guy guns a-blazing you threw everything at the kitchen sink

Adam everyone flipped on them and you got nothing if mana fort is successful

by getting off of these charges I think that is publicly a big blow to to Muller

and his team because I think people starting Muller cares about the pide

relations I think he's like head head down doing the legal work and a subpoena

fight legally I don't know how that would turn out in the courts I don't

know how you can ignore it though yeah we have to go we got to move on thanks

guys or words now between New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and president

Trump after the top Democrats stunned an audience yesterday when he unleashed on

president Trump's make America great again slogan reaction from the couch

ahead yes we're not gonna make America great again

it was never that great

TRUMP TAKES ON BRENNAN OVER CLEARANCE - Duration: 14:21.

Bruce or and some of the other officials that President Trump says may be next on

the list of security clearances that will be revoked

I think preserves that disgrace I suspect I'll be taking it away very

quickly I think that Bruce Aras did disgrace with his life finale we know

that Bruce and Nellie or are the Bonnie and Clyde of collusion President Trump

was asked about his administration's decision to revoke John Brennan's

security clearance security clearance is a very important debate very very

important and I've had a tremendous response for having done that anything

I'm giving him a bigger voice John Brennan is the one who started this

entire Spygate the pockets hoping to get the media on his side to run cover for

his role in the biggest scandal in modern-day us Esther the expression I

used the other day was in art of course America is great he is going to walk

away from this experience sorry for being so bad at politics this 100 year

old veteran 100 letters one of them from the White House

knowing what a blessing America is he just turned 100 his family said let's

try to get a hundred letters from around the country let's show him what America

is all about they got 55,000 letters from people just

pouring their heart from the White House which was really touching and that's

what makes America great sorry governor we'll get to that but we will I mean for

Pete today great to beer we've got Arsenal Rachel campus nothing of course

the great ed Henry wonderful to be with you it's great to be here um so we have

the president talking out about John Brennan as you know John Brennan not

very happy that his security clearance was revoked by the president he had some

not kind things to say about the president and so the president as you

might imagine had some not nice things to say about mr. Brennan take a listen

security clearances are very important to me very very important and I've had a

tremendous response for having done that if anything I'm giving up a bigger voice

many people don't even know who he is and now he has the bigger voice and

that's ok with me because I like taking on voices like that

I've never respected him I've never had a lot of respect whether you agree with

the president or not you just have to look at the airtime that John Brennan

has been getting across so many networks not necessarily our network but the

mainstream media your MSNBC's your cnn's have been giving this guy untold airtime

let's listen to what he said on MSNBC about the president and his revoking of

his clearance take a listen he's drunk on power he really is and I

think he's abusing the powers of that office I think right now this country is

in a crisis mr. Trump time after time I think has really just disappointed

millions of Americans which I'm trying to give voice to and so I know a lot of

people think that a former intelligence officials shouldn't be doing us I don't

consider what I'm doing political at all so there are the dueling sound bites

what do you guys think we just had Don bonds

dan bond Geno on and he's basically saying listen this guy John Brennan is

the spearhead of so imagine put yourself in the position

of the president hears them here is the person the CIA director under the last

administration who started the spying on your campaign and who continues to try

to undermine your administration would you let him keep a top secret or see his

security clearance this is the man who helped weaponize intelligence against

candidate Donald Trump fact number one fact number two this is someone who was

already under fire when he was the Obama CIA director all kinds of allegations of

human rights abuses allegations that he was spying against Senate staffers who

were doing an investigation of the CIA Democrats like Dianne Feinstein back

then called him out now all of a sudden he's their best friend so you have all

that and then since Donald Trump has been elected and has been president you

have John Brennan a former CIA director which is supposed to be a nonpartisan

position whether you're a democrat or republican they come out of that job

they go on TV they talk about terror they talk about national security right

he's usually in a nonpartisan way he's weaponized that information now against

the president accused him of treason and so think about how rich it is when you

think about what Rachel was just talking about in the soundbite we heard from

Brennan saying I don't think anything any of this is political when in fact he

has suggested the president committed treason should be impeached take a we

put together a little Greatest Hits from John Brennan and you be the judge is

this political or not Donald Trump has badly sullied the reputation of the

office of the presidency I used the term that this is nothing short of treasonous

I and so many other former NASCAR officials are speaking out because of

the abnormal and aberrant behavior of mr. Trump mr. Trump continues to have

his ignorance of the facts of willful disregard of them the Russians may have

something on him personally that they could always roll out and make his life

more difficult so to be clear this is America you have free speech but to go

out there and basically weaponize this information and make outlandish

allegations against the commander-in-chief and you don't expect

he's gonna fight back give me a break well nobody's stopping

him from going on TV by the way but it is interesting that the

is having a meltdown over the removal of this clearance when you know this is

unprecedented so yes sure it's unprecedented to take away the security

clearance for a CIA director it's unprecedented to have a CIA former CIA

director doing exactly this on television and I'm sorry if you heard

the president you'd do the same thing we mentioned free speech one person who

probably wishes he didn't have such free speech this week a New York Governor

Andrew Cuomo who hadn't what's the word in artful comment earlier this day this

is what America is not great then he's trying to walk it back let's listen to

both the inartful comment and his attempt to walk it back take a listen

we're not gonna make America great again it was never that great the expression I

used the other day was in art of course America is great and of course America

has always been great when Trump started talking about the slogan quote make

America great again is not greatness at all you know before

we spoke with Dan banjee no earlier each one of us said what makes America great

is that hundred-year-old who asked for letters and got 5500 it is the military

heroes that defend our freedom that died sacrificed so much of their lives for

our failure and you know how the president is winning in this argument is

we are now in day four of KOMO gate and as you made of it and he is playing on

the president's turf we're still talking about whether America is great or not

which obviously spoiler alert it is great oh there's so many liberals who

want to just attack this president at all cost that they're fighting on his

turf they're letting their anger get the better of them is that common I mean you

heard it was a liberal crowd when he made the first comment on Wednesday and

there were some people sort of lightly clapping that others like what wait what

did you just well I didn't think just pain I well to be honest when I heard

that clip I didn't think people were gasping I thought people were in

agreement with him in that room I think this plays well in the New York primary

I think the problem for Cuomo is the reaction that he got after is like wait

a minute this is somebody call it was somebody who wants to run against Trump

and you're right he's playing on Trump's

Trump's Turpin by the way loving America thinking americo's great is something we

used to agree on here's Dan bond Geno on telling a very personal on a very

personal level telling us what he thinks about Cuomo's comments you know tell

that to my uncle Greg Ambrose you know he came back from Vietnam yeah in a box

you know he died over there for this country got a Bronze Star with a V

cluster was shot in the back trying to save his friends for what he thought was

a mission for freedom and what others did too these are disgusting disgraceful

comments como should step aside and resign just in case you know we can all

sit here and talk about our own personal experiences with American patriotism

supporting our troops but like I said when you hear Dan bond Geno talk about

direct family members that didn't come home after defending our freedom in wars

that really hits home and you have to think to yourself governor cuomo you

know what a horrible thing that you said especially in your turf of New York

where 9/11 happened just a few short years of exit particularly awful is that

his father Mario the leak govern right he was great

even though he's khalid opposite side from president Trump loved America the

84 convention speech the Democrats were wowed by in San Francisco where he was

taking on then President Reagan was all about loving America from a liberal

perspective no doubt but he talked about the immigrant story the Cuomo family the

Italians who came to this country I need something out of nothing

his son is now doing the opposite well I'll have to tell you I've sent in a lot

of classes in college this is how the left thinks I'm sorry and a newsflash

here I do think that's how the New Left thinks I think that's why we're seeing

Governor Cuomo saying this in the context of an election that's in right

now especially a lot of the left that was born on third base like Andrew Cuomo

unlike his dad Mario that's very true now we asked you guys what you thought

about it and here's an email from Carl he says it would seem that many

Democrats including Cuomo cared more about politics power and getting elected

so they want to come up with something against Trump to fight him and they

inadvertently how it hurt themselves blow up in his face this is an email

from Rebecca one thing that makes America great

that Cuomo has the freedom to make that ridiculous remark if you were in another

country and might cause problems like that maybe a tweet from CEO Andrew Cuomo

knows exactly what he said and is not sorry Gretchen hey I won't agree with me

on their Kingdom message ahead of 2020 they may write the trunk derangement

syndrome went a little too far delegate Cynthia Nixon isn't even agreeing with

your message how do I get back good point Don all right we're gonna turn now

to some of your headlines and we begin

president Chopp making clear he may be ready to pull the security clearances of

embattled DOJ official Bruce or and others this is the White House is

reportedly drafting documents to revoke even more clearances in here to react

dr. Sebastian corker he's a Fox News national security strategist a former

deputy assistant to President Trump of course and he just returned from a

campaign rally for Governor Andrew Cuomo oh no probably didn't because I don't

have a hot date I don't think he agrees with Governor Cuomo said and I have a

feeling he doesn't agree with John Brennan now claiming what I'm doing is

not political right a man who has used his paid position in the national media

to attack a serving president without an iota of evidence John Brennan John

Brennan is the first person who was stripped of his clearance and I hope he

will not be the last add that list we have from Sarah

Huckabee Sanders is a good place to start but I think anybody anybody who is

using their position publicly to attack the president in in substantiated ways

should be on that list and secondly anybody whose fingerprints are on fire

gate our honor uranium one are on the server gate with regards to Hillary and

secondly we have to have a policy review this insanity that anybody gets to keep

their clearance just because they were a senior political appointee in a past

administration these things cost a lot of money

Edie and why should the taxpayer be stumping the bill just because it's

tradition you think that that's something that the

president's going to go after just the whole process of giving security

clearances sort of even after people leave the building well I hope so I mean

this is what I'm recommending publicly and is what I'm writing about the the

the American tanks place should you know appreciate the fact that for example

your first investigation I've been through the process I had a clearance

your first investigation for a clearance that alone costs twenty five thousand

dollars to the US taxpayer then we find out that if you're a former director of

the CIA or senior official you get to keep it for the rest of your life and

it's renewed every five years again talk costing the taxpayer money that's the

definition of the swamp so you know I I think we need to have a full policy

review of your whole clearance system dr. quick question here on another big

subject which is China the Pentagon put out this a report suggesting that

China's army is likely training for strikes against us targets this is

something that came out yesterday alarmed a lot of people maybe sometimes

these things are too hyped how concerned should we be well I came into the White

House to do counterterrorism issues specifically the defeat Isis plan but

once you're in there once you read the classified reports I can tell you it but

we will deal with Isis with all the Caliphate is gone we'll deal with Iran

North Korean Russia but the only the only strategic threat we face the only

long-term threat is China they have a plan the viewers can check it out it's

unclassified it's called one belt one road and they wish to displace America

and and we have to take this threat seriously but the good news is that the

president understands this threat I'm definitely secretary matters as well dr.

Gork okay I'll leave right there appreciate coming in thanks guys thank

you you heard me mention it New York Governor Andrew Cuomo no dr. korkor not

going any rally just kidding but he's trying to walk back that comment saying

America was never that great these immigrants all came to America because

of its greatness they have a you
