Trump Just Achieved Major Victory Days After Omarosa Started Slanderous Attack – CONGRATS

I have been involved with politics for a long time.

In all that time I have never seen a politician come out on top the way that President Trump

does time after time after time.

No matter what is thrown at him, Trump bounces back and Americans seem to love him more and

more for it.

He's a fighter and that is quintessentially American.

Trump has brought tons of jobs back to America and has dropped the unemployment number to

record lows.

There are literally more jobs than workers out there these days it seems.

I can't remember since Ronald Reagan when that happened.

Trump's approval rating among black voters has risen to 36 percent in a recent Rasmussen

poll.

The number seems totally unaffected by allegations of racism from former White House staffer

Omarosa Manigault Newman.

In fact, she seems to be helping Trump's numbers.

That's got to just enrage her and the left.

Teflon Don strikes again and is having the last laugh once more.

That's up from the 29 percent reported by Rasmussen two weeks ago.

A year ago, that number stood at 19 percent.

I detect a trend and it's a good one for 2020.

This daily tracking poll was released on Aug. 15th.

It seems to indicate that black Americans aren't fooled by Omarosa's slanderous

allegations of racism on the part of the president.

Congratulations are in order for the president as this is a major victory over efforts by

the left and the media to take President Trump down.

It's not working at all.

From The Epoch Times:

"Among other things, Manigault Newman accused Trump of using a racial slur during the production

of his reality television show "The Apprentice," on which she used to work with Trump.

The president, the White House, and multiple insiders have denied the claims.

"Trump's pitch to black Americans has centered around the promise of jobs.

Partly due to Trump cutting taxes and eliminating regulations, the economy has been on a roll,

with unemployment among blacks hovering around historical lows, a fact the administration

has repeatedly highlighted.

"'Since Election Day 2016, we have created 3.8 million new jobs.

Unemployment for African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, and Asian-Americans has reached an all-time

low.

America is back!"

Vice President Mike Pence wrote on Twitter on Aug. 3

"A Yougov poll from Aug. 11-13 showed Trump's approval rating at 8 percent among blacks,

up from 3 percent on Aug. 9.

That result, however, wasn't filtered down to likely voters.

Among all registered voters, the approval was 45 percent in its latest poll.

"Overall approval of Trump among likely voters remained steady at 49 percent, marking

a slight increase from numbers around 46 percent in July."

Unemployment for Hispanic workers in the United States has fallen to a new record-low rate

of 4.5 percent in July, surpassing the record 4.6 percent set just a month earlier.

The overall unemployment rate dropped to 3.9 percent from 4 percent in June, the Bureau

of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported.

Asian unemployment dropped to 3.1 percent while black unemployment, still hovering around

historical lows, increased slightly to 6.6 percent.

All of this portends an even bigger landslide for President Trump in the next presidential

election if things keep heading in this direction.

And yet even with the statistics speaking for themselves, the media is twisting this

as the very opposite of what it is.

USA Today, for instance, a couple of days ago claimed that the Trump-Omarosa feud was

'deepening the wedge with black voters ahead of midterms'.

What the media is proclaiming and what is reality seem to be two very different things

here.

I contend this is the way it is for most Americans and President Trump.

They are watching what the president does and what his results are.

Voters are no longer listening to the mainstream media and they have long ago ceased to trust

them.

Omarosa notwithstanding, there is no evidence that President Trump is racist.

None at all.

Trump is known to be friends with countless people from many backgrounds, and even prominent

civil rights figures such as Jesse Jackson praised Trump before he announced that he

was running for president.

Perception is reality and Americans perceive that Trump is not a racist.

From the Conservative Tribune:

"Even a poll conducted by the NAACP — one of the most well-known black liberal groups

in America — revealed that while there's still a long way to go, Trump is faring much

better with the black community than many of his Republican predecessors.

"That poll put Trump's support among black Americans at 21 percent.

No, it doesn't seem very high … but when you consider how low past Republicans have

fared with minorities, it looks downright magnificent.

"It's also bad news for Democrats.

The left has long relied on black Americans voting blue at the polls, and if that demographic

continues to walk away from liberal politicians, the ability of Democrats to win future elections

is in serious jeopardy.

"'The Democrats heavily depend on 90-plus-percent turnout and 90-plus-percent support for Democrats

among African-Americans.

If that level of support falls to 71%, the game is more or less over," explained American

Thinker.

"If black voters begin to vote Republican in higher numbers or simply stay home on election

day, the numbers say that Democrats just can't win.

"The NAACP poll putting black opposition to Trump at 79 percent brings the left precariously

close to that tipping point — and other polls show the president doing even better

with blacks.

"'(Donald Trump's) approval ratings among black voters: 29%," stated Rasmussen Reports,

a respected polling group, a week ago.

"This time last year: 15%."

"That suggests that black opposition to Trump is right at 71 percent … yes, exactly

at the "tipping point" beyond which Democrats cannot win future presidential elections.

And Trump keeps doing better with blacks, not worse."

Looking at those numbers economically, I'd say Trump will get another four years and

the Democrats are basically doomed in the next election.

Victory will be very sweet while the left continues to scream "Racism!" in the background,

Trump will go on to serve yet another term and continue to help make America great again.

Good times.

Brennan hits back at Trump in NYT op-ed - Duration: 1:21.

Former CIA Director John Brennan fired back at President Donald

Trump for revoking his security clearance in an op-ed published

Thursday in The New York Times. In it, Brennan said the

president's decision was "politically motivated" and "an

attempt to scare into silence others who might dare to

challenge him." Brennan also wrote that Trump's repeated

claim about there being no collusion between his campaign

and Russia is "hogwash." The former head of the CIA has been

a very vocal critic of President Trump, often responding to the

president on Twitter. In a statement relayed by White House

press secretary Sarah Sanders on Wednesday, Trump said Brennan

had "leveraged" his security clearance to make "wild

outbursts" about the administration. Trump also said

Brennan — who served as CIA director from 2013 to 2017 —

"has a history that calls into question his objectivity and

credibility." However, in an interview with the Wall Street

Journal on Wednesday, the president said the ongoing

investigation into possible Russia collusion in the 2016

election was the reason behind his decision to revoke Brennan's

clearance. He said, "I call it the rigged witch hunt, it is a

sham. And these people led it. ... So I think it's something

that had to be done." The White House is still considering

revoking security clearances for a number of other former

intelligence officials, most of whom have also been critical of

President Trump.

HKYTV ★Huh Kyung young and Donald Trump are similar(허경영과 트럼프는 닮은꼴) - Duration: 7:03.

Play what I once predicted about Trump.

Trump was last among 16 Republicans when he ran into presidential election.

But mbn called me. They said Trump is crazy and similar to me.

When Trump was last among 16 Republican candidates,

Then I told him that if Trump becomes president, America's economy will survive. Trump is the U.S. hope and icon.

I said this then.

I told you on September 24, 2015. .

If he becomes president of the United States, the U.S. economy will be activated.

Stop. Hang up. Change the screen.

What this means is that the Trump is America's icons.

If that person becomes president of the United States, the American economy lives. There are many jobs in the U.S. right now, so the economy is at its biggest boom in 45 years.

Although I, Huh Kyung young have an excellent prophecy for future, I'm sure I can see people exactly.

Those papers boasted a lot of Trump's.

'Trump 380 trillion won in investment in the U.S. So Apple...

Apple is investing so much.

So after Trump becomes president, America grows rapidly.

Am I right? So you have to know that what I say is absolutely correct.

My prediction was correct, but our country's economists downplayed Trump.

What kind of president would he be?

When I said that Trump would be president, the announcer of our country's broadcasting station laughed at me.

She laughed at me.

If I become president, Korea's economy will be number one in the world.

.

The three biggest indicators of the economy are growth, inflation and employment.

Trump has succeeded in all three of these. .

How many years ago was this? Before Trump became president, I told him in 2015.

This woman is from an announcer at KBS.

She is in the mbn.

This is that anchor.

This woman anchor looks smart, doesn't it? This woman anchor and I discussed.

I mean, there's a fight.

So she didn't believe what I said.

She's staring at me strangely.

Let's hear what she's saying. .

"Why do we send our precious soldiers overseas? "This is a loss," said Trump.

It may be a little inconvenient for you to hear, but the your commitment is way over the top.

They say

And there are some people who share common points between you and Trump in terms of showmanship.

We'd like to hear what the Trump you're evaluating is like.

.

As we prepare for it, you have become the star of the craze for every presidential election.

Right.

Whenever the presidential election hold, Huh Kyung young became a hotshot.

But then I looked at myself in a strange way. There was a craze and people thought I was crazy.

.

It's too bright for people to see.

But You'll see you later. .

He is the star of the craze for the presidential election. It's a good showmanship.

All I have to say is people stare at me.

When I sing, little kids and adults look at me.

What you should know is that the anti-fans are fans after all.

So if people call me crazy,

When I'm on TV, let's see what management is all about.

So they listen to me carefully.

So all who call me crazy in the next presidential election are changing.

.

Why? Because they felt like they wanted to cut off the fingers of the stamp on the politicians.

Therefore, people now think that we should listen to Huh's words.

.

Let's hear him say that he is 100 percent accurate in his predictions.

This is why they put aside all kinds of things and listen to me.

Am I right? So I have a good showmanship.

I'm just attacking established politics.

Trump and I are alike.

It is a hollow pledge.

Is this a hollow promise? It was an exact promise.

In the U.S. gentlers point of view, Trump's promises were vain,

When it comes to business people and common people, getting a lot of jobs is a priority.

So Obama did have a justification and Trump chose utilitarianism(realism).

utilitarianism

I don't need any justification. America is hungry, too. Now I'm going to turn to pragmatism.

Am I right?

Trump must have watched me for about 10 years.(Joke)

Okay. Now...

Thus, at that time, the U.S. economy changed and the U.S. economy lived because of Trump.

If Trump becomes president, there will be no war on the Korean Peninsula.

.

I told you that if Hillary becomes president, there will be a war on the Korean Peninsula.

That's why Hillary has the money the defense industry is funded.

Trump doesn't accept the money.

The arms dealers said Trump is a madman.

So if Trump become president, it won't be war in the Korea.

SON'S MEETING IN TRUMP TOWER ARE "COMPLETE FABRICATION" - Duration: 12:26.

stay in Trump Tower meeting with the Russians was meant to get dirt on

Hillary but you know is that actually illegal and what would that legal

standard mean for Hillary Clinton and that dirty dossier we're going to debate

that coming up next and we have a lot more to get to including that crazy

story of the radical Muslims in New Mexico holding children against their

will starving them depriving them of water

what is going on with this story and why is it being under covered we'll get to

all of that and debate the Clinton and the dirty dossier issue coming up next

now you can argue all you want about whether the June 2016 Trump Tower

meeting between C campaign officials and Russian Nationals offering dirt on a

Hillary was appropriate but was it illegal Trump critics are losing it

after the president acknowledged the true intention of the meeting on Twitter

yesterday and MSNBC's Joe Scarborough thinks he knows exactly what this means

it's illegal to get information to get anything of worth from a foreign

national speaker it doesn't have to be cash there doesn't have to be an

exchange of cash for something of value anything of value that's called an

in-kind contribution and the law has always looked at that just as seriously

as they've looked at you know as they've looked at money exchanging hands Oh ciao

joining me now to discuss this former deputy Trump campaign manager Dave bossy

opinion contributor for the hill John Solomon and attorney Leo Terrell all

right bossy take it away Joe was definitively putting his legal skills to

work definitively declaring it is illegal to meet with a foreign national

who promises Oppo research wouldn't that call Hilary's behavior

that's about to say that's what the Clinton campaign did it did if there's

any collusion it's their campaign with with the steal fake Russian dossier and

paying steal through the State Department through other through other

places through the FBI look they they are the only ones the Clinton

campaign er the only ones that colluded during the campaign Don jr. did nothing

wrong there's nothing wrong here why did they get the story a little mixed up

there in the early days like it was it wasn't about that listen I didn't help

with a statement like yes if I tell you as a lawyer who did criminal defense

work this is what I tell my clients do not talk about your case

Seattle años tiene la boca do not talk talk about academe talk about other

things leave the legal stuff to me you cannot

litigate this in the press because the press hates you and you got 17 lawyers

on the other side who don't care about what you tweet so if I again cousins

gonna do it he's gonna do it he's really smart but in the legal realm it's a

different ballgame it's a different ballgame and I think he's he's caused

himself a world of pain and just heart not heartache but a headache because of

talking to the press John well I'm never gonna fucking yeah I don't want to never

discourage anyone talk to the press they should always talk to the press yeah but

listen where was my profession on this very law when the whole Hillary dossier

think was coming out you didn't see any stories of reporters looking at that law

saying it must apply here suddenly someone says it applies to Donald Trump

and everybody goes with the pack over here no one really good goes and talks

to lawyers I've talked to lawyers prosecutors there's a great column by

Jonathan Turley on the hill site tonight there's no chance that that meeting

violates he says that will read from a said if the Russians had evidence of

criminal conduct by Hillary Clinton her campaign or Family Foundation the Trump

campaign had every reason to want to know about it that's precisely what

Clinton's campaign spent millions to do talking to Russians and other foreigners

investigating Trump indeed under this interpretation of federal election laws

Clinton and her surrogates would be equally guilty in using a former foreign

spy to gather info on Trump from foreign sources including the Russians period

Leo Terrell your reaction to that well I'm glad you're a lawyer Laura and

you know the dog you know as well Donald Trump jr. better lawyer up because he

along with Jared said that meeting and I Got News for you that is good Speer

see that is illicit hey what's that crime it's fierce into the fraud the

election to the fraud the election their involvement says - give me the code

what's this I want to tell you right now you can talk to your right over your

colleague Judge Napolitano and Leo Terrell agrees there Donald Trump jr. is

in trouble mark my words on this and the WD the

Clin d'oeil CA clinton never met with any foreign nationals likeness you paid

your what I lost this thing so Leo number one you can't sign it is statute

okay I'll give you that I'll let you off the hook for that number two you're

saying if you use intermediaries to gather information from foreign sources

then you obviate from having any responsibility in any conspiracy really

because I think that would use your GPS Hillary and anyone else in the Justice

Department I knew about this who facilitated that means for action of the

dustman let me respond to my favorite talk show host I'm saying to have a

conspiracy we have a meeting of mine Jarrod Donald Trump jr. conspiracy law

remember today's date there is no minimize what Hillary call he's not here

are the only lawyers on this panel unfortunately this is where no

fortunately I'm recovering but again we have a situation where I agree on this

point don't litigate this stuff in the press

because politically people say a lot of things politically and they kind of they

come close to the true they don't because in the legal matter it might be

unwise as it as a legal PR strategy but it doesn't mean a crime was committed

that is holy day also uncovered you know they also on you over the text messages

from Jared Kushner to his assistants saying get me out of this meeting

staffed in five minutes so that's called exculpatory evidence I would hope that

you would say there's no conspiracy when people are trying to not be in a meeting

I think it's funny though and John maybe you'll respond to this this is on CNN I

think I was on like the treadmill this morning I'm watching

I I was almost at the Fred Flintstone thing and like fell off the treadmill

because I'm listening to this going wait a second which one of these is a lawyer

coming to this conclusion let's watch you me there are two big important

things here first of all the law which says that's a big one it's illegal to

take anything of value from someone for yeah that's that I feel that's an

open-and-shut case so completely over John I I said this many times on the

show on the entity show I don't recognize the profession I practice and

say there are so many reporters that just say things in the moment without a

basis for fact you have to have a law to violate it's create a conspiracy there's

no law that prohibits people from taking information if you extended this out one

of the lawyers I talked to today said well then it would have been against the

law for Barack Obama to have arranged all those foreign trips in 2008 to could

make himself look good on the America on the world stage before he got elected

president it wasn't designed to prohibit those sort of things it was designed to

prohibit the sort of things that the Clintons were doing in the nitro and

they're taking my China Donald Donald Trump jr. knew he was talking to aegis

of the Russian government remember that text I love it I love it remember that

text Laura so are you making the Joe Scarborough

you know f you know Edward Bennett Williams argument that this is an

in-kind contribution because if you make that argument then as Jonathan Turley

said it's the same liability criminal liability on Hillary Clinton for an

in-kind contribution that that she received from a foreign source she paid

for it but it doesn't matter it's a conspiracy to get the information I'm

saying to you attorney Ingram that the meeting of the minds a conspiracy

between of having that meeting you don't need to act itself they've met to get

dirt from a government meeting and that's what I'm talking about okay

okay Don juniors on a radio show today in the morrow and I asked him about I

asked him about this meeting let's listen to what he said it's sort of the

cycles of the media narrative right you know that the other stuff isn't sticking

so they're back now tomorrow they'll be back on the 25th amendment literally

nothing changed you know they don't talk about

sort of the genesis of that meeting and that these people were dealing with

using GPS before I guess that is a 20 minute meeting it ended up being you

know about essentially nothing that was relevant to any of these things and you

know that's all it is and that's all they've got and that is I guess the

ultimate distraction from what's really going on in this country which is you

have a Republican president a very conservative president is getting stuff

done one last comment one last comment Donald Trump a junior said that meeting

was about Russian adoption his dad threw him under the bus a day by saying that's

not true and Donald Trump jr. has a problem with

the Senate in it on TV all day long and it's wrong here's what happened okay

this woman pledged to give dirt on Hillary yes she did it that's the

president said however she was trying to push for a removal or or you know to

rescind the Magnitsky Act Putin Putin when the Magnitsky Act was passed which

put all the sanctions on the billionaires he said oh really

we're gonna stop all adoptions of Russians into the United States I have

two Russian sons I followed this very closely that's why she brought up she

said we'll get will give you the adoption if you guys get rid of the

magnets he's oh he's right of course she talked about the adoption that was true

they all died she also met with fusion GPS I believe the day before the meeting

out and the day after the meeting so this is part of a conspiracy of what

Hillary Clinton is doing now inside the way John Solomon I want to find out

maybe you can do the reporting on this why hasn't Muller interviewed vasila

it's kaya why haven't they brought this illness

gaya in why well we don't know that he hasn't that's one of the things my I

think no I think she offered to testify I don't believe she's been brought in

unless something new has happened last week be surprised if there's a lot of

information flowing to her to the press investigation has been going on for two

years and cost over 25 million dollars of taxpayer money and this is where we

are today talking about let me say there's Donald Trump Donald Donald Trump

you guys need to go immediately I'm not trying to cut you out but we're gonna go

we're gonna go to black and I'm gonna get in trouble but thank you is a great

panel they are the woman we're shortchanging

the women trumpeted by the left is rapidly

into the year of the radical we'll explain next remember back in 1992 they

called that the year the woman the Democrats did in the election and then

it was 2016 with Hillary was the year of the woman and now here we are again 2018

let's try a third time around is being called the year the woman by some in the

media and of course on the left but if you listen to high-profile female

Democrats including 2020 presidential candidates you know this next person is

running you'd be forgiven for thinking it's the year the radical just take a

look I am a Democratic Socialist Republicans are going to call us

socialists no matter what we do

so we might as well give them the real thing I have a problem guys with that

phrase identity politics when people say that it's a pejorative that phrase is

used to divide and it is used to distract its purpose is to minimize and

marginalize issues that impact all of us

you

HEADS ROLL DOJ OFFICIAL OUSTED, TRUMP EXPOSES DEEP STATE

The Deep State's war on Trump is heading toward a conclusion.

Anonymous leaks have fostered an environment where Americans believe the President himself

is under investigation.

But one new statement just crushed the Deep State's biggest lie about Trump and his

family.

America was rocked by a Washington Post report that special counsel Robert Mueller was investigating

Donald Trump for obstruction of justice.

The report was sourced to anonymous "officials" close to the investigation.

This was followed by a second Post story claiming Mueller was digging through the business dealings

of Trump's son-in-law and senior White House adviser Jared Kushner:

"Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III is investigating the finances and business dealings

of Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law and adviser, as part of the investigation

into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election, according to U.S. officials familiar

with the matter…

… The Washington Post previously reported that investigators were scrutinizing meetings

that Kushner held with Russians in December — first with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak,

and then with Sergey Gorkov, the head of a state-owned Russian development bank.

At the time of that report, it was not clear that the FBI was investigating Kushner's

business dealings.

The officials who described the financial focus of the investigation spoke on the condition

of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly."

Leakers fed reporters stories that suggested Trump and his family were a collection of

corrupt criminals.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein responded to these stories with a highly unusual statement

cautioning Americans not to believe stories based on anonymous officials.

Politico reports:

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appeared to be taking issue with recent Washington

Post and New York Times stories that President Donald Trump himself is now the subject of

an obstruction of justice probe, as well as a separate new report from the Post that Mueller

is looking into White House senior adviser and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner's finances.

Rosenstein's statement, though, mentioned none of the reports specifically.

Instead, he criticized articles that were attributed to unnamed officials.

"Americans should exercise caution before accepting as true any stories attributed to

anonymous 'officials,' particularly when they do not identify the country — let alone

the branch or agency of government — with which the alleged sources supposedly are affiliated,"

Rosenstein said.

"Americans should be skeptical about anonymous allegations.

The Department of Justice has a long-established policy to neither confirm nor deny such allegations."

This would not be the first time the Washington Post and other media outlets were caught running

fake news leaked to them by shadowy anti-Trump forces.

Previous reports about Comey asking for more resources for the Russia probe before being

fired, Rosenstein threatening to resign and Comey being prepared to contradict Trump's

claim he told him three times he was never under investigation were all proven to be

fake news.

The so-called "mainstream" media's poor track record of running stories that turn

out to be debunked, plus Rosenstein's statement, should caution every American not to believe

what they read in what Trump calls the "fake news media."

We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this story.

Facebook has greatly reduced the distribution of our stories in our readers' newsfeeds and

is instead promoting mainstream media sources.

When you share to your friends, however, you greatly help distribute our content.

Please take a moment and consider sharing this article with your friends and family.

JUST IN: SUPREME COURT BACKS TRUMP – HUGE CHANGE COMING FOR ILLEGALS - Duration: 10:33.

JUST IN: SUPREME COURT BACKS TRUMP – HUGE CHANGE COMING FOR ILLEGALS

If you listen to the media's bumbling coverage of Trump's travel ban, you'll realize

that they are just hoping the Supreme Court will ignore it.

Like it will eventually just go away.

But the Supreme Court has done just the opposite.

Not only are they dealing with President Trump's case, they have sped up their proceedings

to hear the case faster.

(via Breitbart)

Clearly, the Supreme Court is not content, like the media, to just pretend that terrorism,

immigration, and border security are not important issues.

The Court realizes that, for some Americans, this issue will be one of life and death — when

will the next terrorist attack occur?

It also looks like the Court may understand President Trump's true motivation — protecting

Americans.

The Justices' statement said of the executive orders, "text and operation are religion-neutral."

This suggests they may not see the order as religious discrimination, even though liberals

desperately want to paint the order that way.

(via New York Times)

The statement also seemed to imply a respect for the president's authority over disallowing

groups of people from entering the country.

Which, by law, he can do for any reason.

Normally, plaintiffs would have until July 3rd to provide their response to the Department

of Justice's appeals to the Supreme Court.

In this case, the ACLU is representing the plaintiffs, a group of activists (and immigrants)

standing against the travel ban.

Now, the Supreme Court has ordered the plaintiffs to have their response ready before summer

recess — June 12.

This could mean the Supreme Court could have a decision ready by the end of this year.

If the court kept the schedule as-is, the justices would not be able to make a decision

until mid-2018.

It's so refreshing to see the Supreme Court ignore the many suggestions from liberals

to simply not hear the case.

For people who believe in big government, liberals are oddly fine with our politicians

and judges sitting on their behinds, doing nothing.

At least when it comes to the newest Justice, Neil M. Gorsuch, work ethic and respect for

the law are a high priority on the bench again.

The travel ban will be resolved sooner than anyone thought possible, and I remain very

optimistic that the Supreme Court will recognize that this ban is lawful and needed.

Robert Reich: Trump's Trade Wars - Duration: 3:14.

Trump has gotten America into a trade war with all our major trading partners.

He's put tariffs, which are essentially taxes, on what they sell to us.

And they've retaliated by putting tariffs on what we sell to them.

Trump's trade war is dumb and dangerous for 3 reasons:

First:

American companies make and sell things all around the world, employ people all over the

world, and are owned by investors all over the world.

At the same time, foreign companies are here, employing Americans, and exporting from the

United States.

BMW, a German company, is the biggest automobile exporter from the United States.

Second: Tariffs hurt American workers.

They drive up prices of inputs used by American workers to make all sorts of things – thereby

making our workers less competitive internationally.

Tariffs on steel hurt American workers who use steel in making cars, appliances, and

motorcycles.

Tariffs on chips, wires, and circuits hurt American workers who use them for making high-tech

products.

Tariffs also drive up the prices of goods bought by American consumers from all over

the world, reducing the purchasing power of American wages.

They're the equivalent of a wage cut.

And tariffs push foreign governments to raise tariffs on American exports, thereby making

American workers even less competitive.

Europe puts a retaliatory tariff on Harley-Davidson's motorcycle exports, and what happens?

Harley moved production to Europe.

The trade war that began in 1930 with the Smoot-Hawley tariff ended up worsening the

Great Depression.

Third: The best way to increase the competitiveness of American workers has nothing to do with

tariffs.

It's to invest in America.

Invest in the skills and know-how of our workers, starting with early-childhood education, through

better schools, access to world-class technical education, and access to college.

Also invest in future knowledge, through government support for basic research and development.

Invest in the infrastructure that links American workers to their jobs, to other American workers,

and to the global economy.

This means world-class roads, bridges, rapid transit, container ports, access to high-speed

Internet, and more.

Invest in the health of American workers through universal health care

But Trump and Republicans have been cutting all these investments.

Trade wars may make Trump feel tough, because he loves tests of his dominance.

But they hurt average working people.

[Trump's voice] "Absolutely totally rigged. It's rigged."

Hey friend! Thanks for watching. We do seem to get along.

Omarosa Says Trump Knew About Hacked Emails in Advance: A Closer Look - Duration: 9:34.

President Trump's former confidant Omarosa

now claims that Trump knew in advance

about the Democratic e-mails Russia hacked

during the 2016 campaign.

For more on this, it's time for "A Closer Look."

[ Cheers and applause ]

♪♪

It's important to remember that any time you hear

the President or his defenders say anything

about the Russia probe, they don't actually care about

the details of the case or the legal principles at stake.

Their sole motivation is to discredit the investigation

in the minds of voters.

Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani even admitted as much on Sunday.

-Why have you decided to

literally try this case

in the court of public opinion?

Is that a deliberate strategy

on your part? -Yeah, absolutely deliberate.

I mean, that's where it's being tried.

Public opinion will be,

as you know, very important.

When I came into the case,

public opinion was against us.

Think of it this way --

They're our Grand Jury.

-You think the public is your jury?

Oh, I have bad news because you know who's your jury?

The jury.

[ Laughter ]

When you're in the court room and the foreman says,

"We find the defendant guilty,"

you're not going to be able to turn around and say,

"Now let's hear from you, America.

Text 555-0100 for 'not guilty!'"

[ Laughter and applause ]

So Giuliani admitted it.

For Trump and his team, it's not about the facts of the case.

It's about public opinion.

That's why Rudy's on TV all the time

looking like he just saw a spider on his toothbrush.

[ Laughter ]

That may also be why Rudy seems so uninterested

in the actual work of being a lawyer.

Like, you know, researching basic legal questions

or looking over documents.

-Of course it's a crime.

No, under article 2 of the Constitution,

I'm not going to tell you my opinion on it

because I haven't really gotten

to the conclusion of researching it.

-Is it possible that Robert Mueller has something

and you have no idea what he has?

-No. -Why?

-Because I've been through everything.

I've talked to the President.

The President is an honest man.

The President did nothing wrong,

hasn't done anything wrong.

Throughout this, he said,

"Give them all the documents."

John Dowd will tell you this.

1.4 million documents.

We didn't even look at them. We just gave it to him.

-You didn't even look at them?!

[ Laughter ]

You're his lawyer!

You should probably know what you're handing over.

"We gave Mueller everything.

Trump's schedule, his e-mails, his tax returns -- Oh, no!"

Oh, the tax returns!

Oh, Rudy, you screwed up this time!

[ Cheers and applause ]

Ohh!

Oh, Rudy!

[ Sighs ]

I'm going to brush my teeth to clear my head.

Spider!"

[ Laughter ]

Rudy's lack of preparation might explain

why he can't seem to settle on one coherent argument

about what actually happened.

For example, Robert Mueller wants to ask Trump

about his conversation with then-FBI director

James Comey who claims Trump told him

to drop his investigation of ex-National Security Advisor

Michael Flynn.

Rudy keeps cycling through

different explanations for that conversation,

sometimes in the same interview

as he did Monday on "Fox & Friends."

-Here's what happened.

The President says, "I never said to Flynn anything about --"

-"I never said to Comey."

-"I never said to Comey

anything about Flynn." Comey says,

and he adds this at the very end,

Comey says, "He told me to see if --

if I can give him a break." Basically.

So we have three defenses to that.

Under article 2 of the Constitution,

you can't really question

why the President would say something.

He has the power to say it.

Number two, what he was saying is perfectly justifiable.

He didn't say, "You must, you have to,

I'll fire you if you don't."

He said, "Consider it."

Number three, he never said it.

-Oh, my God!

[ Laughter ]

He's like a [bleep] magician frantically asking,

"is this your card? No? Okay.

How about this one? Okay. Hold on.

There's 50 more. Okay.

Is it a red one? Is it a red one?

Does it start with a fo-- sev-- nine?

[ Laughter ]

Rudy clearly just makes stuff up as he goes along,

and now he's got a new line.

He's telling people that Mueller told him

he would wrap up the investigation by September 1st,

although Rudy's story doesn't sound very convincing.

-We think it should end.

-The whole investigation?

-Absolutely. It should be terminated.

He should put out his report,

tell the American people what he has.

Why did I say September 1st?

Because a long time ago,

two months ago when we met with him,

he threw out September 1st as a date that he might be able

to get the report done by. -Hmm.

-And --

-Does he still sound like that?

-Well, we haven't talked --

he has not repeated that since then.

But he hasn't taken it back.

-Oh, he hasn't taken it back?

You're representing the President of the United States,

and you're handling this case like a fifth grader playing tag.

[ Laughter ]

"You said September 1st! No backsies!

Now pick one of these words."

[ Laughter and applause ]

But if Rudy seems unequipped --

if Rudy seems at all unequipped

to handle the Russia investigation so far,

then he's really going to be in over his head this week

with the latest revelations from Trump's former confidant

and aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman.

Omarosa's tell-all book has a lot of sensational allegations

like her claim that she saw Trump put a note in his mouth.

[ Laughter ]

Now this is Omarosa we're talking about.

So anything she says should be taken with a grain of lithium.

[ Laughter ]

But yesterday she dropped a new bombshell

claiming that Trump knew in advance

about the Hillary Clinton e-mails

that Russia hacked during the campaign.

-I think that he should come clean with the American people.

I think that he should honest

about what he did during

the campaign and what he

continued to do in the White House.

-You were instructed, according to your book,

to bring up the e-mails at every point you could

at the end of the 2016 campaign?

-That's correct. -Hillary Clinton's e-mails.

-Yes, that was our talker.

-Did Donald Trump know about

those e-mails before they came out?

-Absolutely.

-He knew about them? -Yes.

-He knew what was coming out

before WikilLeaks released them? -Yes.

-Amazing. So after Trump's public praise of Vladimir Putin,

his attorney general's meetings with Russians,

his campaign chairman's money laundering,

his deputy campaign chairman's tax fraud,

his personal fixer's secret shell company,

his national security advisor's lies to the FBI,

his son's attempt to get dirt from a foreign adversary

and son-in-law's secret back channels

with that adversary,

the person who could end up taking down

the President of the United States is Omarosa.

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

Omarosa.

It took her 14 years,

but she's finally getting revenge for Trump firing her

in season one.

[ Laughter ]

Now, let's be honest -- the only fitting way

for this presidency to end would be Trump to get indicted

and leave the White House crying in the back of a cab.

[ Laughter ]

Omarosa has also written in her book that Trump was furious

at his son Don Jr. after Don Jr. released his e-mails

with Russians revealing that the infamous Trump Tower meeting

in 2016 was an attempt to get dirt on Hillary Clinton.

That contradicted their original story

that the meeting was about adoption policy.

Omarosa writes...

Wait, so he just said this in passing during a conversation?

Can you imagine making small talk with Trump in the elevator?

"Hey, Donald. Hot enough for you?"

[ As Trump ] "My son's an ass[bleep]"

[ Laughter ]

[ Normal voice ] Now, Omarosa obviously has

as much credibility as anyone else in Trump World,

which is to say very little.

But she's been releasing secret tapes

of her conversations to back up her side of the story.

In fact, she's taped everyone from John Kelly to Ivanka Trump

to Jared Kushner to the President himself,

which is incredible given that, as we've noted before,

Trump has a lifelong obsession with being secretly taped.

We saw that shortly after he became President

when he falsely accused Obama of tapping his wires

and then angrily tried to storm out of an interview

when he was asked to provide evidence for that claim.

-Did President Obama give you any advice that was helpful?

That you think, wow, he really --

-Well, was very nice to me.

But after that, we've had some difficulties.

So it doesn't matter.

You know, words are less important to me than deeds.

And you saw what happened with surveillance.

-But you stand by that claim about him?

-I don't stand by anything. I just --

You can take it the way you want.

I think that is a very big surveillance of our citizens.

I think it's a very big topic.

And it's a topic that should be number one

and we should find out what the hell is going on.

I have my own opinions. You can have your own opinions.

-But I want to know your opinions.

You're the President of the United States.

-Okay. That's enough.

Thank you. Thank you very much.

[ Laughter ]

[ Laughter ]

-[ As Trump ] "Now if you'll excuse me,

I have a lot of paperwork to eat."

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

[ Normal voice ] Trump surrounded himself with grifters

and con artists, and now that it's coming back to haunt him,

he's trying to grift his way out of it.

It's the first rule of Trumpism.

Everyone is grifting everyone else

and everyone eventually turns on Trump.

Omarosa is just the latest example.

They're all following the Trump mantra which is...

-I don't stand by anything.

-This has been "A Closer Look."

[ Cheers and applause ]
