The neuroscience of being disgusted by tRump - Duration: 3:41.I boast and confessed that I have not listened to a complete statement spoken
in the voice of the 45th president since November 9th 2016
of course I've read the tweets I have heard other people reading statements by
him but when he himself appears on the screen I sit with my hand over the mute
button ready to blot out the sound of his voice which as Darth Vader I'd say I
find disturbing I don't find the sound of his voice merely disturbing I in fact
find it disgusting which is a measure of my own spiritual psychological
scientific poverty but the neuroscience of my disgust is cool massive
oversimplification warning massive oversimplification warning rings are
absolutely not modular there is no one part that's responsible for any one
emotion but if you want to talk about the neurobiology of disgust you could do
worse than looking at the insular cortex or as its friends call it the insula the
insular cortex is really easy to miss since it is tucked deep inside the other
cortices a little island and insular the insula is involved like everything else
in the brain in lots of activities when you see a carcass rotting on the side of
the road the insula is involved in your if response when you smell feces the
insula is involved in the universal turning up of the nose and response
similarly the sound of tea rocks voice makes me almost physically ill the
connection between the instrument cortex is gustatory responses and our reactions
to social situations is well known things that seem corrupt we say are
rotten even Act seems immoral or lacking in virtue we say it stinks I'm sick of
this guy I'm sick of this show that is the knee-jerk response I have to tear
UMP and two creationists then to anti-abortionists and various other
people who behaviors or beliefs I have decided are rotten the good part about
the disgust response is its plasticity stuff that seemed disgusting to us now
tomorrow could see completely normal even praiseworthy in
the 1960s my mother considered the idea of interracial marriages disgusting
that's just wrong in the 1970s when I was in high school the idea of two men
kissing each other had a very high hick factor with me but after some time /
evolution and the culture interracial gay transgender bridegroom confused
marriages are the topic of light cocktail conversation at most some day I
would love to be a real pure scientist who would view t rump and his supporters

Trump WH Just Told The Democrats Any Budget Deal with DACA Attac - Duration: 4:29.Trump WH Just Told The Democrats Any Budget Deal with DACA Attached
Is Dead on Arrival
Congressional Democrats need to go back to the drawing board if they want to the Trump
administration to budge on the Deferred Actions for Childhood Arrivals program, according
to recently surfaced information regarding the recent government shutdown provided by
the White House Sunday.
A White House aide told Breitbart News that Democrats proposed a federal budget measure,
however, attached was a clause regarding DACA.
The move didnt impress the Trump administration, as it doesnt want the DACA budget attached
to government funding.
We will not negotiate over the status of people here unlawfully while Democrats shut
down the government of the millions who are here lawfully, the White House aide said
Saturday.
During a media briefing, Legislative Affairs Director Marc Short and White House Budget
Director Mick Mulvaney confirmed this information.
(W)ere not going to be held hostage and let our troops be held hostage over this,
Short said.
When they reopen the government, we will continue the discussions.
As noted by Breitbart News, Short accused congressional Democrats of causing the government
shutdown in an attempt to impress leftist activists partially due to the success that
President Donald Trump has had during his first year in office.
They look at the accomplishments of the last year and all this administration has
accomplished, and their reaction is, Because we cant beat them, what were going to
do is were going to shut down the government, he added.
Mulvaney assured those at the briefing that the Trump administration would do everything
in its power to minimize the impact left by the shutdown, an effort not taken by the Obama
administration during the 2013 government shutdown that lasted 16 days, and cost the
U.S. an estimated $1.5 billion per day.
Employees from national parks, trade negotiations, cybersecurity agencies and the Environmental
Protection Agency are continuing to work during the shutdown, while President Donald Trump
canceled his trip to Florida and is keeping his trip to Davos, Switzerland, on a day-by-day
basis, according to The Blaze.
Mulvaney then took a shot at a Senate Democrats, stating that they are handling the budget
situation like a two-year-old.
It is like a two-year-old temper tantrum to say, I will take my toys and go home
because I am upset about something else, Mulvaney said.
It has nothing to do with this bill, and the Democrats are conducting a two-year-old
temper tantrum in front of the American people.
Mulvaneys comments came just one day after he embarrassed CNN White House correspondent
Jim Acosta who asked him why the shutdown was dubbed the Schumer Shutdown when
Republicans control the Senate.
Come on, you know the answer to that as well as anybody, Mulvaney said in response
to Acostas question, adding that he has to laugh when others try to bring up
this topic.
You know as well as anybody that it takes 60 votes in the Senate to pass an appropriations
bill, right, you know that? Mulvaney asked.
I know that, Acosta replied.
Okay, so when you only have 51 votes in the Senate, then you have to have Democrat
support in order to fund the government, Mulvaney said.
So thats the answer to your question.
This is purely an attempt by the Senate Democrats, led by Mr. Schumer, thats why we call it
the Schumer shutdown, in order to try and get a shutdown that they think this president
gets blamed for, he added.

Newt Gingrich on Trump's First Year 'We Are Incredibly Fortunate - Duration: 7:01.Newt Gingrich on Trumps First Year: We Are Incredibly Fortunate to Have Him
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich thinks the first year of the Trump administration
has been a smashing success, with President Donald Trump even rivaling an iconic conservative
president Ronald Reagan as an effective, focused leader.
In a Fox News op-ed publish Saturday, the first anniversary of Trumps inauguration,
Gingrich noted that despite the harsh opposition Trump faces from liberal activists and the
mainstream media, he has still been able to follow through on numerous campaign promises.
In fact, of the nine U.S. presidents Gingrich has known starting with Richard Nixon
only Trump and Reagan have been so effective in their first year.
Americans, Gingrich said, are incredibly fortunate that Trump prevailed in the 2016
presidential election.
It is fair to say President Trump has already achieved so much that he rivals Reagan as
an effective, focused leader, Gingrich wrote.
We are incredibly fortunate to have him in the White House as our nations 45th
president.
As evidence of this claim, Gingrich juxtaposed the resistance effort against Trump
to the presidents accomplishments.
The mainstream media and the left have consistently misrepresented and maligned him, Gingrich
said, leading to a distorted, minimized view of what has been accomplished by this
remarkably energetic and controversial commander-in-chief.
Pointing out how unexpected Trumps electoral victory was, Gingrich discussed the response
by liberal protesters seen in the form of the rallies that took place the day after
his inauguration.
These protesters promised resistance to the so-called imposter, who they
simply could not accept as president of the United States, according to Gingrich.
The Fox News contributor then referenced the now-infamous threat made on the National Mall
by liberal entertainer Madonna.
I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House, the singer said at
the time.
According to Professor Allen Guelzo, a Civil War expert at Gettysburg College, the last
president to face such a hostile attitude from the opposition was Abraham Lincoln, who
was despised by southern slave owners.
One year into Trumps presidency, Gingrich wrote that things have not gotten much better.
For instance, Rear Admiral Dr. Ronny Jackson the presidents personal physician recently
spoke to reporters at a White House news briefing to reveal the results of Trumps physical.
Despite the fact that Jackson, who was appointed to his current role by former President Barack
Obama, gave Trump a clean bill of mental and physical health, reporters continued to ask
antagonistic and even stupid questions, according to Gingrich.
Their goal, he said, was to prove that Trump is unfit for office, despite Jacksons claims
to the contrary.
This Trump Derangement Syndrome that the media unfortunately suffer from has become
a major barrier to accurate coverage of the Trump presidency, Gingrich wrote.
But in the face of this bias, Trump has gotten results.
During his campaign, then-candidate Trump promised to appoint conservative justices
to the federal bench.
As Gingrich noted, not only did the president nominate Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court,
but he has also successfully seated more appellate judges than any first-year president in history.
Moreover, Trump has rolled back many regulations implemented under Obama, becoming the all-time
champion of rolling back red tape, Gingrich said.
The current estimate is that the Trump administration is repealing 22 regulations
for every new one it has created, he added.
This is a major contribution to economic growth and a big plus in implementing campaign
promises.
On the foreign policy front, Gingrich wrote that Trump has followed through on his pledge
to enable the military to do its job in regard to the Islamic State group.
As a result, the terror organization has lost virtually all its territory at minimum risk.
Though Trump has not yet figured out how to deal with the threats posed by Iran and North
Korea, neither (nation) has imposed its will up to now, Gingrich said.
The former House speaker also referenced Trumps decision to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel
from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem another campaign promise he has followed through on.
Gingrich believes Trumps actions have helped the U.S. economy grow.
For example, the passage of historic tax reform has led to a response from the American business
community that is even more positive and more visible than anyone could have hoped.
As The Western Journal reported, since the tax bill was signed into law, more than 164
companies have already announced they will be providing bonuses for their workers and/or
cutting prices due to the tax cuts.
Trump also promised to negotiate fairer trade deals for the U.S., and as observed by Gingrich,
Saudi Arabia alone signed as much as $400 billion in contracts with American companies
during the presidents visit to Riyadh.
Thanks to the presidents economic leadership, Gingrich wrote that the new normal
of less than 2 percent annual economic growth is rapidly being replaced by estimates in
the range of 3.5 to 4 percent.
Moreover, as Trump has highlighted on Twitter, unemployment figures among African-Americans
are among the best ever recorded.
Gingrich concluded by saying that Trump still has much to do.
He has yet to repeal Obamacare, introduce a plan to rebuild Americas infrastructure
or develop conservative solutions for poverty. In addition, Gingrich wrote that the president
has allowed symbolic language and arguments about race to drive people apart.
Still, though, Trump has much to hang his hat on.
(O)n balance, it is fair to say President Trump has already achieved so much that he
rivals Reagan as an effective, focused leader, Gingrich wrote.

Trump's voter fraud commission requested records for all Texans|tick tock news| - Duration: 4:20.Recently disbanded Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity made request last year
while applying to obtain nearly 50 million voter records from state
Donald Trumps controversial voter fraud commission asked for files on every Texan
with a Hispanic surname, newly released documents show.
The Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity made the request last year while
applying to obtain nearly 50 million voter records from the state with the second-largest
Hispanic population in the US.
On the data request form, policy adviser Ron Williams ticked a box asking for Hispanic
surname flag notation to be included in the files.
Officials said the data was never supplied because a lawsuit filed by voting rights campaigners
blocked the state from sending any information to the commission.
The commission, established after Mr Trump claimed millions of people voted illegally
in the presidential election, was dissolved earlier this month amid mounting legal challenges
and resistance from several states.
Documents obtained by Missouri Democrat Senator Claire McCaskill show the commission had paid
for voter records from some states that refused to provide them for free. Among the files
was an invoice for $3,437.30 to be paid to obtain data on 49.6 million registered voters
in Texas, including the details of those with Hispanic surnames.
Kris Kobach, the Republican vice-chairman of the voting commission, told the Washington
Post that the request was a complete surprise to me.
At no time did the commission request any state to flag surnames by ethnicity or race,
he said.
Told about the Texas invoice, he added: Mr Williams did not ask any member of the commission
whether he should check that box or not, so it certainly wasnt a committee decision.
Mr Kobach said the data does not, did not advance the commissions inquiry in any
way, and this is the first Ive heard [that] the Texas files included that.
He added: I dont know what sort of data analysis you would do even remotely relevant
to it, but also having just one state [would be] useless. It just doesnt make any sense.
Mr Trumps commission was denounced by civil rights group when it was set up in May, and
was feared by some to be an attempt to suppress voting among ethnic minorities.
Maine Secretary of State Matt Dunlap, a former member and vocal critic of the commission,
said the request for Hispanic data raised grave questions about exactly what the
commission hoped to find and what problems it planned on solving.
[It] gives room for no small amount of alarm in the very possibility that an American
citizen could be suspected of voter misconduct based on their ethnicity, he told CNN.
The watchdog group American Oversight has filed a Freedom of Information request for
all files related to the application for Hispanic voter data in Texas.
Mr Dunlap filed one of several lawsuits that had hobbled Mr Trumps commission before
his decision to scrap it.
Announcing the disbandment on 3 January, the White House said: Despite substantial evidence
of voter fraud, many states have refused to provide the Presidential Advisory Commission
on Election Integrity with basic information relevant to its inquiry.
Rather than engage in endless legal battles at taxpayer expense, today President Donald
J Trump signed an executive order to dissolve the Commission, and he has asked the Department
of Homeland Security to review its initial findings and determine next courses of action.
Mr Trump launched the commission after claiming, without any evidence, that he only lost the
popular vote in the election because millions of people voted illegally for his Democratic
rival Hillary Clinton.
