WH Chief John Kelly Says Trump 'Evolved' On Wall, POTUS Takes To Twitter To Tell His

Donald Trump's biggest campaign promise was the Southern border wall.

You want the wall.

I want the wall.

The only people who don't want the wall are illegal immigrants and hack politicians.

So, when White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said President Donald Trump "evolved"

his view of the wall, people got upset.

Really upset.

Then, Trump tweeted — three times.

President Donald Trump made the wall a major part of his campaign.

He vowed that a "big, beautiful" wall would act as a barrier between the U.S. and

Mexico.

It would be a powerful deterrent against the drug cartels, murderers, and human traffickers

who currently use our border like a revolving door.

However, many in Congress oppose the wall — and we're not just talking about Democrats.

Politicians have many reasons for preventing a wall from being built.

It would be expensive.

A decrease in illegals would hurt both liberals looking for votes and businesses who exploit

the illegals for cheap labor.

And, it's just not politically correct.

When asked about the President's current vision for the wall, Chief of Staff John Kelly

claimed Trump "evolved."

What does that mean?

Was Kelly implying Trump was less motivated to make good on his biggest promise?

Perhaps Kelly was trying to sound politically correct for the rabid, liberal, Trump-hating

media.

Either way, the President himself set the record straight.

President Donald Trump corrected his Chief of Staff John Kelly after he said that the

president had "evolved" on the wall.

"There's been an evolutionary process that this president has gone through," Kelly

said in an interview with Fox News host Bret Baier, pointing out that Trump had "very

definitely changed his attitude" towards DACA recipients and the wall.

But Trump pushed back on Twitter against the suggestion that he had evolved on the wall.

"The Wall is the Wall, it has never changed or evolved from the first day I conceived

of it," Trump said.

It's odd that Kelly would say that.

Saying that the President "changed his attitude" on the most important issue of his presidency

is suspicious.

Was Kelly saying Trump didn't want a wall anymore?

Or that he wouldn't fight to get it built?

Establishment Republicans don't like the wall.

It's not "politically correct" to make a giant barrier between the U.S. and Mexico.

That would admit Mexico has a major immigration problem.

It would highlight Mexico's failures.

That would embarrass the pathetic country, and for some reason, they think we wouldn't

want that.

There are also Republicans who want illegal immigrants.

They want to cater to those corrupt businesses who get away with employing illegals.

These businesses exploit these workers, paying them low wages.

Instead of paying legal residents of the country.

Then, of course, there are those politicians who cater to illegals directly.

Democrats think that if they let people continue to come here illegally, they will get their

vote.

Pathetic.

It seems like Kelly is worried about all these groups in D.C.

His statements might have been to placate those corrupt forces.

But, President Trump had to put him in his place.

"He has evolved in the way he's looked at things," Kelly said.

"Campaign to governing are two different things and this president has been very, very

flexible in terms of what is within the realm of the possible."

Kelly also suggested that the wall would not be paid "directly" by Mexico, something

that Trump also corrected.

"The Wall will be paid for, directly or indirectly, or through longer term reimbursement,

by Mexico, which has a ridiculous $71 billion dollar trade surplus with the U.S.," he

wrote.

"The $20 billion dollar Wall is 'peanuts' compared to what Mexico makes from the U.S.

NAFTA is a bad joke!"

It's shocking to think that one of Trump's closest staffers would defy him in this way.

Trump is not a man who likes insubordination.

If Kelly is really defying the President's wishes, he might not be around for much longer.

President Trump is great at delegating responsibility to his staff.

That's the makings of a competent leader.

But, what if a staff member goes on TV and directly contradicts his message?

I can't imagine that staff member would be around for much longer.

Trump added that without wall funding there would be no DACA deal.

"We need the Wall for the safety and security of our country," he wrote.

"We need the Wall to help stop the massive inflow of drugs from Mexico, now rated the

number one most dangerous country in the world.

President Donald Trump is a man of his word.

If promised a wall, he will do everything to make it happen.

The only thing standing in his way is corrupt, dishonest politicians.

Over the last 24 hours, the country has been plunged into chaos after the government shutdown.

Well, that is what the Democrats would love for you to believe but lo and behold everything

is working just fine and will continue to despite the hysteria the mainstream media

has pushed.

In fact, the majority of Americans will not notice a thing gone awry since only non-essential

government workers were affected by this liberal grandstanding for illegal immigrants.

However, that was not the case back in 2013 when Barack Obama threw his temper tantrum

by refusing to negotiate with Republicans on how to fund the government.

Instead, Obama shut the government down but not before he realized that when he did no

one would really notice his dramatic gesture and things would continue to work despite

their absence.

So, Obama decided with his flair for dramatic, ramped up the theatrics by closing down the

national parks which included the World War II Memorial in Washington.

Even during the shutdown of 2013, the House Committee on Natural Resources noted that

"the Obama Administration is going out of its way to take unreasonable and unnecessary

steps to block public access to parks and monuments that aren't warranted by a government

shutdown."

"For example, open-air parks and national monuments, places without doors or gates,

where people are allowed to visit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, have been barricaded

off," the committee added.

"In addition, none of these D.C. memorials were closed during the last government shutdown

in 1995-1996 under the Clinton Administration.

The Obama Administration's closing of these sites is not something they are required to

do; it's something they are CHOOSING to do.

The Obama Administration wants the effects of this government shutdown to be as painful

as possible."

However, that was then, and this is now, and here we are in the midst of another government

shutdown, but something is very different.

Instead of crying and making a public scene President Trump is allowing this absurd liberal

hissy fit to run its course leaving the theatrics out of it which many government workers and

tourists noticed today.Just one day into the shutdown Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke went

to work cleaning up trash on the National Mall and speaking to school children with

a smile on Sunday morning.

Nope, Zinke was not out of a job or turning people away from the memorials but doing what

he does every day.Here is more from The Daily Caller:

"We're not putting up barricades," Zinke told The Daily Caller in an interview.

"Absolutely not.

We're passing out brochures until we run out of brochures.

I'll be out here every day."

Zinke and much of the federal government has had the vast majority of staff furloughed

due to the government shutdown.

The shutdown happened on Friday when Democrats refused to vote for a GOP budget bill that

kept the government funded.

A shutdown means all "non-essential" government workers get furloughed and the rest go without

pay until Congress can pass a funding bill.The last government shutdown was in 2013 under

the Obama administration.

For that shutdown, the Department of Interior made the controversial decision to close public

parks, monuments, and battlefields.

The decision led to some comical and ultimately sad stories of children having their D.C.

school trips canceled and veterans not being able to visit monuments built in their honor.

However, if you were looking for similar headlines under the Trump administration, keep looking.In

the first hours of the government shutdown Secretary Zinke was making plans for how to

keep America's public parks open.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, Zinke met with public affairs and maintenance staff

to run through a plan to keep memorials on the National Mall open.

He then spoke with garbagemen who will be picking up trash on the Mall one last time

before the city of D.C. takes over for them.

Zinke then got into his car and drove to the WWII memorial to greet visitors and hand out

maps and helped with directions.

"I spent the morning walking around, giving brochures out," Zinke said.

"I got a lot of thanks from both sides of the aisle.

We will not weaponize our public lands."

"The visitor experience will be diminished," Zinke admitted, noting that some museums and

public service will take a hit during the shutdown.

"But to the degree possible, we will keep our public lands open.

They should not be used as a political weapon."Zinke said public parks, monuments, and the battlefields

"belong to the people and not the government," and noted that people will see a "significant

difference" between the Trump administration and Obama's in the way public lands are

managed during a shutdown.

Now, of course, this government shutdown is unnecessary, but since it happened, it is

great to see the vast difference between Obama and Trump's leadership.

Obama chose to make the American people hurt every chance he got, while Trump is in the

business of protecting the American people and our culture.

Hopefully, this ridiculous government shutdown will end, and we can get back to work on making

America great again, but with the left who knows how long they will draw this out.

During Barack Obama's presidency, he did all he could to destroy this nation, and he

got pretty darn close to it.

Obama not only pushed back race relations decades with his manufactured race war, but

he also allowed floods of illegals to pour into our country unvetted and unchecked so

they could vote for Democrats in upcoming elections.

After years of witnessing this disgusting disregard for our nation's laws, President

Trump is in charge and working hard to fix the mess Obama allowed.

President Trump has been busy overturning Obama-era programs that benefitted everyone

else in the world, but the American people.

Over this past summer, on the chopping block was the Obama-era CIA program that helped

arm rebels who were fighting the Syrian government.

Then there was the Paris Climate Accord and NAFTA that only protected foreign interests

over America, and Trump has just been in office for less than a year.

However, the most significant cut of the year was Obama's hotly contested Deferred Action

for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) that caused the left to disintegrate into hysterics.

So much so that these Democrats have shut the government down until Trump grants these

Dreamers amnesty.

Not to be deterred by the shameless blackmail from the left Trump is pressing on and is

now deporting celebrities with an illegal immigrant status sending a clear message that

he is not one to trifle with, and all we can say is hell yeah!

Over the last several years, the left has flipped the illegal immigration argument on

its head by making those that cross the border victims instead of criminals.

They have brainwashed an entire generation efficiently into believing that these illegals

have every right to be here and the American taxpayer needs to open their wallet to pay

for them.

There have been marches in the streets, violent protests, and now a government shutdown to

keep these criminals here but that has not stopped Trump from making sure those that

are here illegally go back to where they came from, and it is about time.

Two illegals that have been able to gain notoriety for their liberal activism have been detained

and are now being deported by the Trump administration after being passed over for years by ICE agents

under the Obama administration.

Here is more from Conservative Tribune: Ravidath Ragbir and Jean Montrevil, both prominent

figures within the pro-illegal immigration group New Sanctuary Coalition of New York

City, were detained and deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement after years of being

allowed to stay in the country at the discretion of federal officials — in spite of the fact

that both had been convicted of serious crimes.

According to the New York Daily News, Ragbir was detained by ICE on Jan. 11 and informed

that his reprieve from deportation would not be extended further.

Ragbir, executive director of New Sanctuary, was checking in at the ICE office in New York

City when he was detained.

While Ragbir had immigrated to the United States legally back in 1991 from Trinidad

and Tobago, he was convicted of wire fraud in 2000, according to The New York Times.

Ragbir received a deportation order in 2006, but in 2011 ICE officials in New York City

gave him a reprieve of deportation.

That reprieve was extended last April, but ICE officials informed Ragbir that reprieve

would not be extended further.

A judge will now decide his fate.

One week later, Haitian national Jean Montrevil — a co-founder of New Sanctuary — was

deported after being taken into custody in early January.

Montrevil, who had entered the United States in 1986, had served time on a drug possession

charge and was in the process of appealing a deportation order.

According to The Intercept, Montrevil's lawyer said his client "believed that he

had reached an understanding with ICE officials."

The general consensus among members of the activist community was that these arrests

were targeted acts.

Well, of course, they feel that the acts were targeted, but that could not be further from

the truth.

In fact, these two "activists" were breaking the law by living in the country illegally

and had been passed over numerous time for deportation in the past.

This was not a vendetta against them but rather a president FINALLY enforcing our immigration

laws that have been ignored for almost a decade and more.

However, there is more to the story as there always is when you are dealing with lying

leftists.

These two illegals are not as lily white as they are trying to paint them.

Mr. Montrevil and Mr. Ragbir brought are both criminals who have served time in prison so

under our laws they get a free pass back to their home country.

According to The New York Times, Montrevil served five years in prison when he was sentenced

to 11 for drug possession, and Ragbir spent time in the pokey for embezzling $400,000.

Both of these men committed crimes and served prison sentences which should have had them

deported in the beginning, but they were lucky and flew under the radar.

Now, their luck has run out, and they are heading back to where they came from, and

if their families are upset, that is on them.

These two men had every opportunity to become legal citizens, but they chose not to, and

now they have to face the consequences of their actions despite their "celebrity"

status.

today, as it's now thrown a monkey wrench into Obama's plans to stage his "political

comeback" this fall.

In a a recent interview with Trending Today USA, Lt. Col Tony Shaffer called 'Obamagate'

an "order of magnitude" even bigger than the Watergate scandal because the incident

included "using nation-state resources for purposes of political gain."

When asked if Obama could be arrested for violating the law, he said that it would be

the "first time a former president could be indicted for a felony."

"…I think it is very possible that he acted outside of the scope of his duties,

responsibilities and authorities to turn the resources of a nation-state on a candidate.

This is, as I've said before, soviet-dictator level wrongdoing," he added.

Shaffer said that Obama using government resources to spy on Trump was for the sole purpose of

getting Hillary into office, as Obama hoped the wiretapping would produce enough "dirt"

on Trump to sabotage his presidential run.

Given Shaffer's lengthy military career, his rise to the top of the American intelligence

community, and his current senior position at the prestigious London Center for Policy

Research, his prediction about Obama shouldn't be scoffed at. Being brought up on felony

charges would completely destroy Obama's plan of making his political comeback this

year, as he'd be trying to figure out a way to keep himself out of prison instead

of spending his hours obsessing with ways to bring Trump down.

The Hill reported on just how extensive Obama's spying truly was, as this unconstitutional

move wasn't just limited to listening in on Trump's calls. They reported:

If these reports are accurate, it means U.S. intelligence agencies secretly surveilled

at least a half dozen Trump associates. And those are just the ones we know about.

Besides Manafort, the officials include former Trump advisers Carter Page and Michael Flynn.

Last week, we discovered multiple Trump "transition officials" were "incidentally" captured

during government surveillance of a foreign official. We know this because former Obama

adviser Susan Rice reportedly admitted "unmasking," or asking to know the identities of, the officials.

Spying on U.S. citizens is considered so sensitive, their names are supposed to be hidden or "masked,"

even inside the government, to protect their privacy.

In May, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former Acting Attorney General

Sally Yates acknowledged they, too, reviewed communications of political figures, secretly

collected under President Obama.

After getting away with whatever the hell he wanted over the past 8 years and wiping

his butt with the Constitution, it looks like Obama's cockiness might just be his undoing.

He might have gotten away with his antics in the past, but things are vastly different

now that Obama doesn't have all his minions blocking all investigations into his crimes,

as was the case when he was president.

If this colonel's predication is in fact true, Obama's little plan to keep trolling

Trump with his little shadow government from the headquarters of his D.C. home could soon

be coming to an abrupt end. How poetic would it be that after spending 8 years pandering

to terrorists and trying to destroy America that Obama could live out the rest of his

At the start of 2018, EPA employed 14,162 workers.

Through Pruitt's series of buyouts and generous retirement packages, as well as normal retirements,

up to 47 percent of employees will leave the agency in the next five years…

If the EPA remains on its current course, agency could employ less than 8,000 people

in the next few years.

It would be the leanest workforce the agency has seen since 1972, two years after it was

created.

This is something to be thankful for.

When you consider inefficient, government offices, the EPA is the most exceedingly bad.

They suck up citizen dollars, giving almost no consequences.

Under President Obama, they were for all intents and purposes unchecked.

They could manage and control private organizations, without endorsement from Congress or the rest

of government.

The EPA essentially could do whatever it wanted.

It mishandled ecological laws to pass strict points of confinement on private organizations

and exclusive land.

In the interim, offices inside the office squandered money– notwithstanding harming

waterways.

On the off chance that there was ever an office that should have been slashed, it's the

EPA.

Under President Trump, it will be held accountable without precedent for years.

The EPA would then be able to really carry out the activity of securing Americans.

Rather than pushing liberal insanity.

They will state President Trump is crushing the planet by lessening the EPA.

5 months of dirty agent Peter Strzok's texts in their attempt to hide multiple things from

investigators, and it will have you furious.

On Friday, January 19, 2018, the Justice Department sent a letter to the Senate Homeland Security

and Government Affairs Committee (HSGAC), admitting that the FBI "failed to preserve"

five months worth of text messages exchanged between Peter Strzok and his mistress Lisa

Page, who is also employed by the FBI.

Both Strzok and Page have been exposed as Trump-haters who made pro-Clinton and anti-Trump

comments during the same time that they worked on the Hillary Clinton email investigation

and the Russia collusion witch hunt headed up by Robert Mueller.

Although President Donald Trump appointed Christopher Wray as the new FBI Director,

not much has changed within the most corrupt federal level law enforcement agency in the

world.

American patriots and lawmakers are outraged after getting pissed on once again by the

FBI.

When you see the FBI's sickening excuse and what they are trying to hide, your blood

will boil.

"The Department wants to bring to your attention that the FBI's technical system for retaining

text messages sent and received on FBI mobile devices failed to preserve text messages for

Mr. Strzok and Ms. Page," Stephen Boyd, the assistant attorney general for legislative

affairs at the Justice Department, wrote to Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, the chairman of

HSGAC.

In his letter, Boyd disclosed that the texts, which the FBI "failed to preserve," are

for the period between December 14, 2016, and May 17, 2017.

This is the same FBI that specializes in retrieving the text messages of civilians who break laws

and are trying to hide their own crimes.

The excuse that was given by Boyd to explain why the FBI "failed to preserve" five

months of texts belonging to the agent responsible for interviewing Hillary Clinton and who oversaw

the President Donald Trump investigation in July 2016 is sickening.

According to Daily Caller, Boyd blamed the failure on "misconfiguration issues related

to rollouts, provisioning, and software upgrades that conflicted with the FBI's collection

capabilities."

Then, Boyd explained, "The result was that data that should have been automatically collected

and retained for long-term storage and retrieval was not collected."

Is the FBI taking lessons from the IRS?

How in the hell are these corrupt, deep state hacks going to get away with deleting the

evidence that would put Strzok behind bars and implicate many others in the orchestrated

attack against President Trump?

The fact that Peter Strzok still has a job at the FBI in the human resources division

is incomprehensible.

Robert Mueller employed both Strzok and Page on his Russia investigation team until July

2017.

It was only after the Justice Department's inspector general found anti-Trump text messages

that Strzok exchanged with Page that Mueller removed Strzok from the Special Counsel's

witch hunt to preserve the appearance of integrity.

Page took her leave of the Mueller team before the inspector general discovered the texts.

In one of Strzok's texts, he called President Trump an "idiot," and in another message,

he said, "F Trump."

The American people were further outraged to learn Strzok's messages told of an "insurance

policy" that the FBI sought to take out in case Hillary Clinton lost the presidential

election to Donald Trump.

"I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy's office — that

there's no way Trump gets elected — but I'm afraid we can't take that risk,"

Strzok wrote to Page on August 15, 2016.

Strzok's mention of "Andy" was a direct reference to FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

"It's like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you're 40,"

Strzok added.

There were four specific things that the FBI wanted to hide by deleting Strzok's text

messages for that five-month period, which include a key period of the Russia investigation,

the publishing of the Steele dossier, Strzok's interview of former national security adviser

Michael Flynn, and the firing of James Comey.

It is very apparent that Strzok had text messages which would have implicated himself and others

of wrongdoing in those situations.

After the news broke of the deleted texts, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) took to Twitter demanding

that a second special counsel is appointed to investigate the FBI's corruption.

In response to Stephen Boyd's letter explaining why the FBI deleted classified information

with criminal intent, Sen. Ron Johnson said that the deletion of the text messages is

very concerning.

Well, that should scare the pants off of them.

If those texts are not found and handed over to Congress, FBI Director Christopher Wray

is no better than James Comey and should be replaced.

Simply put, this is our country's top law enforcement agency hijacking justice on behalf

of the corrupt administration of Barack Obama and his wanna-be successor Hillary Clinton.

American patriots don't believe for one second that the FBI accidentally "failed

to preserve" five months of Peter Strzok's text messages.

The outrage of many Americans toward the FBI has hit a boiling point.

This agency hasn't just failed us, it has been weaponized by liberals to undermine what

At midnight on Friday, the government was sent into a temporary shutdown after the Senate

failed to approve a short-term spending bill.

Democrats have blamed President Donald Trump for the shutdown, saying he has refused to

bargain with them.

However, no sooner had the left begun hurling their baseless accusations at POTUS, Eric

Trump came forward to unleash Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's absolute worst nightmare.Republican

senators needed 60 votes on Friday to move forward with a bill that would have funded

the government for 30 days, but they came up short.

Of course, the Democrats have remained adamant that the resulting shutdown is the fault of

the Republicans who refused to bargain with them on the issue of illegal immigration.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer blamed President Trump outright, saying, "He's

turned blowing up bipartisan agreements into an art form."

Schumer added, "Negotiating with President Trump is like negotiating with Jell-O."Of

course, this is far from the truth.

The Democrats are the ones who chose illegal immigrants over the American citizens they

are supposed to represent.

The Democrats have opted for a government shutdown, rather than a compromise, in order

to further their own agenda.

In reality, the Democrats chose politics over Americans.

During the hours leading up to the government shutdown, President Donald Trump invited Senate

Minority Leader Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., to the White House to negotiate the outline of

a deal, which both sides believed was in reach.

After several more conversations during the day, the deal fell apart and the Senate failed

to pass a measure to keep the government funded.

"During the meeting, in exchange for strong [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals] protections,

I reluctantly put the border wall on the table for the discussion," Schumer said from the

Senate floor.

"Even that was not enough to entice the president to finish the deal."

coming from the left is the president's son, Eric Trump, who called into Judge Jeanine

Pirro's show on Fox News on Saturday to weigh in on the government shutdown.

"People see through it," Eric said.

"I mean, people have seen a year that's incredible.

It's been filled with nothing but the best for our country, 'America First' policies,

and they're happy with where we are as a nation," he added.

"I mean, my father has had incredible momentum," he went on.

"He has gotten more done in one year than arguably any president in history.

How do they divert from that message?

How do they save their own party when they don't have any leadership, they don't

have any good candidates out there, they don't have a message of their own?

How do they do that?

They obstruct, they distract, they try and place blame."

Indeed, the Democratic Party is imploding because they have no leadership, no potential,

and no message.

They have seemingly made it their sole purpose to obstruct President Donald Trump, and that

is not a purpose at all.

The Democrats have proven one thing above all else with this senseless government shutdown;

namely, that their party is a total joke.

They ought to just start preparing themselves now for another staggering loss not only in

2020 but in this year's midterms as well because with each one of these bone-headed

political stunts, their chances of winning back the White House or even a congressional

seat become slimmer and slimmer.

The most shocking thing about being in Congress that there has never been a comprehensive

audit of the DoD," said Rep. Salud Carbajal, D-Calif., who is a freshman member of the

committee."I think if we don't get it together, we are going to lose the American

people's trust in what we are trying to do here."

House lawmakers on Wednesday applauded the Pentagon's effort to finally undergo a full

audit, even though Defense Department Comptroller David Norquist said the effort could lead

to almost $1 billion in costs this year.

Of course, the audit itself doesn't cost $1 billion, but the audit and the money it

will take to fix all the problems discovered by the audit will.

Those costs include $367 million on the actual audit process that was announced and launched

by Norquist last month.

He also said the military expects to pay $551 million to fix the problems uncovered by the

audit.

Norquist, the brother of tenacious tax activist Grover Norquist, was appointed by President

Trump in May and vowed a get-tough approach to finally putting the military's financial

books in order after years of delays.

The Pentagon has about $2.4 trillion in assets but has never gone through a full financial

Trump Admin Breaks The Law To Convince Americans That Dems Are Responsible For Shutdown - Duration: 5:31.

Saturday of this past weekend was officially the first full day of the government shutdown.

Also happened to be the one year anniversary of Donald Trump's inauguration, meaning that

he was only able to keep the government running fully for one year since being sworn in.

But people who decided to call into the White House this past weekend into their comment

line heard a very strange prerecorded voicemail greeting when you called that number.

Here is what the voicemail had to say.

Thank you for calling the White House.

Unfortunately, we cannot answer your call today because congressional Democrats are

holding government funding, including funding for our troops and other national security

priorities, hostage to an unrelated immigration debate.

Due to this obstruction, the government is shut down.

In the meantime, you can leave a comment for the president at www.whitehouse.gov/contact.

We look forward to taking your calls as soon as the government reopens.

Okay, so there's several things that are wrong with this particular voicemail message.

First and foremost, it obviously blames the Democrats for the entire government shutdown,

which is simply not true.

Anybody who had been following along with what was happening in D.C. all of last week,

trying to make deals, things like that, Democrats and Republicans, and even Donald Trump himself

at one point, they'd all agreed on a funding measure that would have kept the government

running, would have given the Democrats some of what they wanted, would have given Trump

some of what he wanted.

But, at the end of the day, they decided, you know what?

We're not going to go forward with this deal because Donald Trump has suddenly pulled his

support out from underneath it.

The Democrats then attempted to pass a bill that would at least guarantee pay from members

of the military, which Republicans then killed.

Think about that for a second.

Democrats attempted to keep members of the military paid during the government shutdown,

but Republicans decided not to go along with that.

Again, contrary to what the voicemail message says.

Second of all, they're not just siding with illegal immigrants.

They're trying to protect children and young adults in this country who have been working,

who are going to school and paying tuition, they're paying taxes, they're helping to support

this country, and so yeah, it seems only fair to allow them to stay when they've been here

for years, and years, and years and they are actively contributing to society.

I don't see anything wrong with that, nor would any rational thinking human being.

But the most important about this stupid little voicemail greeting is the fact that it is

technically, by definition, illegal.

You see, there's a little thing called the Hatch Act.

What that does is it prevents government employees working inside the White House from engaging

in any kind of political support for one candidate or party and, two, it prohibits them from

using government equipment to do so.

Since this voicemail was anti-Democrat, it could be seen as pro-Republican, therefore

establishing dominance of one party, support for one party, over another one.

Second of all, it obviously had to have been recorded on White House government equipment,

making the entire message a very clear violation of the Hatch Act.

Now, there's a couple of caveats to the Hatch Act.

First and foremost, the president is exempt from it.

Donald Trump himself is not looking at any legal issues here.

People like General Kelly and other very high ranking aides to the president are also exempt.

This woman on the voicemail, even though I'm sure she was directed to and did not do this

of her own accord, is none of those things.

She is a regular government employee who is prohibited from doing this on government equipment

in the White House.

Yet, whoever directed her decided to forgo that knowledge, didn't bother to tell her

that, "Hey, by the way, this is a crime what I am asking you to do.

But don't worry.

Nobody's going to go to jail.

There's not even going to be an investigation of it, even though it's very clear textbook

violation of the Hatch Act."

But like so many other things we've seen in the past, Donald Trump and his administration

are going to get away with this.

Nobody's going to hold them accountable.

They're going to continue blaming Democrats for the shutdown as long as it goes on.

But all of that is a lie.

At the end of the day, the blame for this shutdown lies at the feet of Republicans.

According to the latest rounds of pollings from every available poll, the majority of

Americans actually agree with that.

They understand that it's not the Democrats who are the minority party in both the House

and the Senate, but it is instead the Republicans who are at fault for the government shutdown,

as they control all three branches of the federal government.
