CNN heckling, reference of CNN and other news sites as "Fake News" The protests around Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's The "TOTAL HOAX" of the Russian collusion investigation The Koch brothers, and their claim that Trump is being unfair to workers Kim Jong Un's "kind action" of returning home the remains of fallen soldiers from the Korean War A recent poll by Rasmussen that reveals Trump approval ratings are currently at 50%, which is higher than Obama's was at this time in his presidency.

This post will be updated with relevant information as the rally approaches.

After Michael Cohen Leaked Trump's Private Phone Call to CNN, Trump Embarrassed Him - Duration: 12:09.

after michael cohen leaked Trump's private phone call to CNN trump

embarrassed him as I'm sure you've heard by now CNN obtained audio of President

Trump's private phone call with his former lawyer Michael Cohen

this was leaked to them by either Cohen or someone else but it was aired on live

TV last night the edited and muddled audio clip is not incriminating and was

not the bombshell CNN figured it would be but President Trump just responded to

it this morning uh-oh President Trump might know

something about the rest of this tape and the other tapes yet to come could he

have leaked at himself many believe Michael Cohen was pressured into turning

president Trump by Bob Mueller who is trying to flip everyone around the

president against him but President Trump won't back down and he doesn't

seem worried because he knows he did nothing wrong

Fox News legal expert Gregg Jarrett confirmed this saying this conversation

President Trump had with his lawyer was completely standard and no laws were

broken late last night President Trump's new lawyer Rudy Giuliani responded to

the tape on the Laura Ingraham show reiterating that this tape is a big

nothing bigger joining us now on the phone is Rudy Giuliani personal attorney

for President Trump speaking with us exclusively after the release of this

recording mayor Giuliani thank you so much for

checking in with us tonight first of all your reaction to this tapes release well

I think it's first of all the major point is it's outrageous that someone

would tape his client surreptitiously and number two it's also foolhardy for

them to try to kind of yell and scream and make believe what's on the tape I

agree with you the tape it's a little bit hard to hear but I assure you that

we listen to it numerous numerous times and the transcript makes it quite clear

at the end that President Trump says Oh don't pay with cash cohen dan interrupts

and says no no no I got it and then you hear distinctly if you're careful and

you slow it down check and then Cohen follows with no no no and then quickly

cuts off the tape which indicates exactly what's there she was saying that

Cohen doesn't want the rest of the court because it was to expel Satori from the

point of view of the press there's no way the president is gonna be talking

about setting up a corporation and then using cash

unless you're that's complete idiot any presidents not really there's a moment

tonight on CNN where where Lonny Davis he kept saying well we are going we're

showing you that what Giuliani claimed that Michael Cohen was the one who

brought up the issue of cash not his client Donald Trump we're showing you

with this tape that it was Trump who brought it up so he seemed to say that

the release of the tape Rudy was because of you and what you said well the fact

is that the president does bring up cash but he says don't pay with cash and then

Cohen says no no no and the president says check and then Cohen says I got it

point if the president want the transaction to be memorial Rudy there

was a some concern about the decision to waive privilege in this case a lot of

legal commentators we just talked to Dershowitz so that's that's all well and

good that's all well and good for them to say that but the reality is that the

tape was leaked not by us nobody believes that

last week we were treated to how we leaked it which Jay and I were laughing

about Jay Sekulow this was leaked on us with a very very scurrilous description

of what was on this day probably by the same people who are lying on CNN and we

had it we had to correct the record so we have no problem making this limited

release because it is it is collaborative of the president's

statement now are so are you still maintaining then tonight that the

recording that was released this evening is 100

sent exculpatory toward the president in his previous statements about this I

think your two guests just said that there's no indication of any crime being

committed on this state and that is absolutely right so that is why we go

ahead now the the you know what the left is gonna say you know what they do

they've been doing it for months that the president gave the impression that

he didn't know about any of these transactions that this was this might

have been happening but he didn't know about the comment on Air Force One saw

references in in the previous statement he said I didn't know but it sounds like

he knew that something was being set up to perhaps buy the rights to this

MacDougal story correct no in fact if you go back a little further on the

prints because I don't get the whole thing Cohen says did we need financing

and the president spent wait a second what for anthing then he asked explain

it the President did not know about this before this conversation at least with

regard to the transaction that we're talking about I mean he may have he may

or may not have known about the Google's claims I don't know that but he didn't

know about he didn't know about this transaction this is the conversation in

which they talk about how they're going to buy the rights and the rights people

have to understand who are watching tonight the rights to this story from

the National Enquirer the company that owns a National Enquirer were never

purchased so that transaction did not go to that's another thing that's absurd

about this what it makes clear is this is at most an attempt to do something I

don't know of any attempt in this category of of crime that they're

looking at so in any event I don't think anyone can suggest that this represents

anything where the present did anything wrong and that's the reason why we

waived it would we have put it out had it not been leaked no we would not have

put it out had it not been leaked but it was being leaked visiting our time under

very very false which false statements being made about it which even a word

they're the ones you're hearing now were you given were you given a heads-up Rudy

that this was coming out tonight at all or was this a surprise to you yes what

found out at six o'clock the staff business and look we've been over the

tape over the weekend about five times what I urge people to do is just go on

and on wine listen to your broadcast you played the tape plenty of three times

the third time you play it'll become clear I bet dates even longer than Alan

Dershowitz how about four thousand hours of mafia people on tapes I know how to

listen to them I know how to transcribe this tape is crystal clear when you

listen to it I've dealt with much worse shape than this are you concerned that

there are other recordings out there between Cohan and the President as a

lawyer as someone who's dealt with people have been in a lot of trouble

before just like you have Rudy the idea of a lawyer taping a client is I think

it takes your breath away but you know are there other tapes that you're aware

of what would you release them yourself today today someone was leaking from I'm

sure their side it can't be ours that there were 12 tapes of Cohan with the

President may have been avenatti somebody else don't quote me on that

he's leaked things like there are a lot more tapes with the President and dursa

which yesterday asked him how because it would be illegal for him to have that

information and unethical but in any event there are no other takes with the

president we have all the tapes in our possession we have transcripts of all of

them we're comfortable with them and there are no there are no others now

Rudy you've known Lanny Davis a long time and like I've known him going back

20 years during the Clinton saga do you do you have any thoughts about his

decision to represent Michael Cohen given his long ties to the Clintons no

not at all I don't have any any any any concerns about that he's a lawyer he has

a right to represent who we want and Michael has a right I question the

strategy of doing this of trying to make a tape stay what it doesn't say or if

putting out a tape in which you're kind of proud of the fact that you're a

lawyer taping your client and then thinking you could cooperate with the

government you know to cooperate with the government you've got to have

credibility first thing that happens is this guy's

gonna be disbarred I mean it's ridiculous he's a pariah to the legal

profession there was a moment tonight on CNN I'm gonna play it for you Rudy we're

Chris Cuomo actually asks about this recording and whether it might taint the

entire substance of it let's watch listen this recording could be argued to

be fruit of the poisonous tree that as counsel Michael Cohen shouldn't have

been recording his counsel his client van Donald J Trump now President Trump

how do you get past that that this whole thing can't look good for Cohen cuz he

should have never done it well I'm not gonna shift the topic it's up to mr.

Cohen to explain why he was taping so he didn't want to go this is great what if

I get was dead it's up to the President to explain that just look that's his

lawyer being interviewed by Cuomo and he throws the ball to his client I mean if

this is crazy representation have you ever heard of anything like this you put

out a tape of your client you then make believe it says something it doesn't say

believe me there were three other versions of this before we got to this

one that were even worse and the transcript belies that if you analyze it

have the patience to analyze it don't become like forgetting about it and now

we saying well you know give the ball to give the ball through to my client so

you're mean I don't mean to harp on the Clinton you know connection here but it

is interesting that Cohen chooses the longtime confidant booster defender of

the Clintons after everything that happened during the campaign to

represent him here I mean was he was he I mean you know this how this deal goes

really was he was Cohen trying to send some kind of message to the president

you know look out here we come and you better watch out I mean it's an odd

choice of lawyer in my view it's an odd choice well I don't know I can't comment

on that Laura I don't know Eddie you know someone else and interfering with

like the counsel if I do that I don't want to do that and I just question the

whole tactic and nice comment tonight shifting the thing

to cold instead of throwing them on the bus and Rudi finally here you got to be

able to answer this you gotta be able to answer via client or not answer at all

and and finally Rudi on on the issue of talking to Muller special counsel here

the reports came out that you all will talk about collusion and nothing else

there any developments on that that you can tell us tonight oh no I think we've

been distracted the last couple days and they've been distracted with the with

the they're getting ready for the metaphor case so I you know we'll

probably get an answer in the next hopefully next couple of days a week all

right Rudy Giuliani we really appreciate writing us tonight

exclusively thank you so much

Trump's "Religious Liberty Task Force" is a Major Threat: Aug 3 Debrief - Duration: 3:07.

A new religious task force could spell disaster for queer people in the US -- and even worse

for people abroad.

We'll have the details -- and also a little good news -- on Weekly Debrief.

This week the Trump administration unveiled what they're calling a "Religious Liberty

Task Force," and it is, of course, a dangerous scam.

This "task force" basically consists of top federal lawyers clearing a path for businesses,

government officials, and even private citizens to violate the rights of LGBT people however

they like, with no repercussions.

We've been seeing this kind of trick for years now: Republicans claiming "religious

liberty" when the true goal is to attack, conceal, and in some cases imprison queer

people.

But this technique of going after queer people has never before been adopted at such a high

level of power -- and it poses an extreme, immediate danger.

We're already seeing ways that it'll be used to make life harder for LGBT folks.

In New York, a town clerk just denied a marriage license to a same-sex couple, forcing them

to go on a hunt for some other official to let them get married.

The issue of clerks and licenses was supposed to be settled years ago, after the whole Kim

Davis disaster.

But now the nation's top lawyers are giving a green light to clerks to prevent queer couples

from marrying -- which means same-sex couples could soon find themselves once again unable

to access the legal and financial protections they need to survive.

Internationally, Republicans have launched a campaign to prohibit US embassies from flying

Pride flags.

And even more alarming: The US is now giving a green light to countries that kidnap and

imprison queer people.

A program established under Obama and Secretary Clinton applied financial pressure to countries

like Kenya to end its criminalization of homosexuality.

Now the administration is ending that pressure, saying if Kenya wants to lock up queer people

for up to 14 years, that's their business.

This is extremely alarming news, not just in the US where we could lose the protections

and equality we've fought for over the last few decades; but internationally, where queer

people are at even greater risk.

There is SOME good news this week, which is that as the US slides backwards, other countries

are making big strides forward.

The Mariana Islands, which are currently occupied by the United States, held their first gay

pride this week.

So did Trinidad and Tobago.

Big congratulations to the organizers there -- happy Pride, and great work standing up

as a model for the rest of the world.

Back here in the US, is there anything that can be done to protect queer people from this

task force?

Yes.

The ACLU, NCLR, and Lambda Legal are all keeping a close eye on people harmed by administration

policy -- so pick one of those three organizations and support them with money, with time, or

with a follow on social media.

And as always, Let me know about stories that need covering @MattBaume on Twitter and in

Trump receives letter from N.K. leader: White House - Duration: 2:30.

President Trump received a letter from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un this week,... coinciding

with the return of potentially dozens of America's war dead from the North.

So the two leaders' now-cordial relationship continues, and the White House says the administration

is open to a second Kim-Trump summit.

Lee Seung-jae reports.

The White House on Thursday confirmed that,...

U.S. President Donald Trump received a letter from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un earlier

this week.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed the news of the letter,...

adding that "the ongoing correspondence between the two leaders is aimed at following up on

their meeting in Singapore and advancing the commitments" made in their joint statement

back in June.

"He did receive a letter, I believe he received it on August 1st. (cut) We have responded

to Chairman Kim's letter, the president has, and that letter will be delivered shortly.

Beyond that, I can't get into any further details.

I can say that the letters addressed their commitment from their joint statement that

was made at the Singapore summit and they're going to continue working towards complete

and total denuclearization."

This comes as the U.S. leader mentioned the letter in a tweet earlier Thursday,...

thanking Kim for the (quote) "nice letter".

Trump also thanked the North Korean leader for sending home the remains of the American

soldiers killed during the Korean War,... and added that he looks forward to seeing

him soon.

Last Friday,... coinciding with the anniversary of the signing of Armistice Agreement,...

North Korea returned the remains of 55 American soldiers.

While it's hoped that the repatriation will build momentum toward North Korea's nuclear

disarmament,... many say the progress towards securing a firm commitment from Pyongyang

has been slow.

Meanwhile, the U.S. says it is open to discussions about a second meeting between Trump and Kim,...

although nothing has been planned yet.

In a regular press briefing on Thursday,... the White House press secretary said a second

meeting has not been "currently locked in or finalized",... but added that the White

House is open to that discussion.

Sanders also reaffirmed the U.S's firm commitment on the UN sanctions on North Korea,...

while mentioning that Trump will not be satisfied until a complete denuclearization.

Trump has previously said that he would be open to inviting Kim to Washington, while

there is also talk of a possible meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in

September.

What James Comey Told Trump Behind Closed Doors Is Bad News For Robert Mueller - Duration: 12:16.

What James Comey Told Trump Behind Closed Doors Is Bad News For Robert Mueller

The Democrats released their memo in an attempt knock down Devin Nunes' allegations of the

FBI's abuse of power in spying on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

It was their attempt to take the heat off special counsel Robert Mueller and the Russia

probe.

But what James Comey told Trump behind closed doors was bad news for Mueller.

Nunes' memo exposed the massive scandal surrounding the FBI obtaining a FISA warrant

against Page.

The FBI used the fake news Fusion GPS Russia dossier as their central evidence to obtain

a warrant to spy on Page.

Democrats – led by ranking Intelligence Committee member Adam Schiff – tried to

knock that down.

Their memo claimed the dossier was corroborated by multiple sources, but that just isn't

true.

When former FBI Director James Comey briefed President-elect Trump about the dossier last

January, he described it as "salacious and unverified."

Fox News reports:

"The new memo also asserted that the dossier had been corroborated by multiple sources.

However, in June 2017 testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee, former FBI Director

James Comey said the opposite — that three months after the warrant on Page had been

granted he still considered the dossier "unverified" and "salacious" when he briefed incoming

President Trump in January 2017 at Trump Tower."

FBI officials had also previously testified before the House Intelligence Committee and

stated they have not been able to corroborate the dossier's allegations of collusion.

All of this is bad news for Robert Mueller.

The dossier was the central piece of evidence that drove the collusion story.

National Review's Andrew McCarthy points out that even though the FBI claims minor

Trump advisor George Papadopoulos' drunken conversation with an Australian diplomat kicked

off the probe, the FBI did not interview him until six months after the investigation started

and that they obtained a FISA warrant against Page and not Papadopoulos.

He writes:

"Schiff is determined to run with the implausible story that George Papadopoulos is the face

that launched a thousand ships — that Papadopoulos's boozy conversation with an Australian diplomat,

not the Steele dossier's allegations of a traitorous Trump–Russia conspiracy, was

the true impetus for the counterintelligence investigation.

Schiff maintains that the FBI was therefore not even paying attention to Steele until

long after the Papadopoulos information came in.

That is, even though the Bureau started receiving Steele's reports in July 2016, they did

not make their way to the FBI's "closely held investigative team" for some seven

weeks — i.e., until mid September.

This team is described elsewhere (p. 3) in the Schiff memo as "the counterintelligence

team investigating Russia at FBI headquarters."

Of course, by mid September, Steele and Fusion GPS were leaking Steele's allegations to

many favored reporters, so perhaps Schiff is saying that the "closely held investigative

team" read about them in the news.

It is, in any event, a frivolous point.

The fact that the Bureau administratively opened a case on Papadopoulos does not mean

that much of anything was done on it.

As we know, investigators did not even interview Papadopoulos until late January 2017, after

Trump had already taken office and about six months after they received the info about

Papadopoulos.

By contrast, once the "closely held investigative team" got the Steele dossier, the FBI and

the DOJ were at the FISA court's doorstep tout de suite.

And to repeat, they got a surveillance warrant for Page, not Papadopoulos."

The Democrats' memo landed with a thud.

It failed to pick apart any of the allegations made by Chairman Nunes.

Trump claims Queen kept him waiting as he denies being late to first meeting - Duration: 3:28.

Donald Trump has outrageously claimed that he wasn't late for his meeting with the Queen - and it was her who kept him waiting

The US president insists he was 15 minutes early and he was forced to wait after his helicopter landed at Windsor Castle

Millions watched live TV coverage as the 92-year-old Queen, wearing a hat and coat, stood in the summer heat for 15 minutes - twice appearing to check her watch - before Trump's motorcade arrived

But Trump, speaking to supporters at a rally in the US, claimed reports that he was late to their first meeting are "fake, fake, disgusting news"

Trump said: "I was asked to have tea with the Queen, who is incredible by the way

Incredible.  "I landed, I'm on the ground and I'm waiting with the King's and the Queen's guards, wonderful people

I'm waiting.  "I was about 15 minutes early and I'm waiting with my wife and that's fine

"Hey, it's the Queen, right? We can wait. But I'm a little early."  Trump was speaking at a rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on Thursday night when he described what allegedly went on behind the scenes during his visit with the Queen in July

He said the world's longest-reigning living monarch was "fantastic" and they spent an hour together, along with first lady Melania Trump, "because we got along"

The president hit out at reports that he had overstayed his welcome, and said he has "great respect" for Britain

He added: '"I then go up and meet the Queen and she is fantastic. We then go up and we have tea

"And I didn't know this - it was supposed to last 15 minutes but it lasted like an hour

Because we got along. And she liked our first lady and our first lady liked her.  "But we got along fantastically well

But the time went by - you know, sometimes you get along and the time goes by.  "So here was the story by the fake news: The president was 15 minutes late for the Queen

Wrong.  "Here's the rest of the story: The president overstayed. So I was late and I overstayed

But honestly, folks, it was such a beautiful, beautiful visit and afternoon.  "But they can make anything bad because they are the fake, fake, disgusting news

"  He also said of his visit: "People call it 'Britain', they call it 'Great Britain'

They used to call it 'England', different parts. But the UK - great respect."

Supreme Court Announces Shock Decision, Anti-Trump Snowflakes Are FUMING - Duration: 3:24.

breaking Supreme Court announces shock decision anti-trump snowflakes are

fuming war is being waged against our freedom of speech Democrats want to do

everything they can to hold us back from our god-given rights in what can only be

described as a major victory the US Supreme Court ruled Monday that the

government is not allowed to ban or restrict trademarks regardless of how

offensive they appear USA Today noted that during the ruling the Supreme Court

helped raise the bar on denials of brand idea so that even the most offensive

names can survive the harsh liberal snowflake filled climate the case that

prompted this meeting involved an Asian American band nicknamed the slants the

group decided to go to court after they attempted to trademark their name only

to get denied multiple times due to its offensive nature the band wanted the

name because it let them take something that would have normally been considered

offensive and use it in a way that allowed them to show pride and strength

liberal snowflakes need to take a cue from this lands maybe they can learn how

to say and use words like responsible adults instead of acting like toddlers

who overheard a bad word at daycare words cannot do physical harm

the sooner they realize this they can build a bridge get over it and we will

all be better off at the start the now-infamous ban went to a lower court

where they were denied their right to use the name they eventually won in the

court of appeals with a stunning 9 to 3 victory the judges who pushed them

forward blamed the First Amendment protects even hurtful speech we suspect

this ruling is going to have a similar impact on the Washington Redskins

trademark case that trademark was pulled back in 2014 amidst complaints by

suspect Native American groups who claimed the name was offensive to them

through some in-depth examination only a tiny fraction found the name to be

offensive not that it would make a difference in this case as of right now

the case is still pending in a federal appeals court hopefully this bump

forward will get the ball rolling in the right direction the leader of this lands

Simon Dam in an interview with USA Today expressed his view on freedom of

expression Dam stated that this freedom is especially important with those who

disagree with the most Dam continued satire humor wit and irony those are the

things that will truly neuter malice there are certainly some valid points to

be taken from all of this the fact of the matter is this names regardless of

how hurtful are covered by our First Amendment right to freedom of speech the

left is simply on a mission to silence all views that do not align with their

own in this case they blew it

Trump, QAnon & the Number '17': Q Followers Think He's Speaking in Code | Heavy.com - Duration: 5:07.

Trump, QAnon & the Number '17': Q Followers Think He's Speaking in Code | Heavy.com

QAnon's followers have a particular affection for the number 17.

The believe that every time Donald Trump references it, he's really referencing them.

It comes from the fact that Q is the 17th letter of the alphabet.

QAnon members were notable in the crowd during Donald Trump's rally in Tampa on July 31.

Trump Said the Number 17 Multiple Times in Tampa.

According to the Tampa Bay Times transcript of the event, Trump used the letter Q, four times.

The president is quoted as saying, per the Times transcript:.

You know, I told the story the other day, I was probably in Washington in my entire life 17 times.

True, 17 times.

I don't think I ever stayed overnight… Again, I've only been here about 17 times.

And probably seven of those times was to check out the hotel I'm building on Pennsylvania Avenue and then I hop on the plane and I go back.

So I've been there 17 times, never stayed there at night.

I don't believe.

During the event, dozens of people could be seen in the crowd making reference to QAnon with signs and t-shirts.

The QAnon conspiracy began on 4Chan in October 2017.

It began with a mysterious poster named "Q." That person claimed to be a government agent with ultra top-secret information.

That person also said that he or she was on a mission to take down the so-called "deep state." The official line from Press Secretary Sarah Sanders after the rally in Tampa was, "The president condemns and denounces any group that would incite violence against any individual.".

Trump Also Tweeted About '17 Angry Democrats' After the Tampa Rally.

The day after the rally in Tampa, Trump again made reference to the number 17 in a Twitter post about the Russia investigation.

The message read, "This is a terrible situation and Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further.

Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to USA!" The 17 Democrats was originally 13 Democrats.

On July 29, Trump explained that he had expanded the number to 17 to included "an Obama White House lawyer.".

The University of Alabama Football Team Gave Trump a Number 17 Jersey in 2018.

In Apriul 2018, when the University of Alabama football team visited the White House on the back of their national championship winning season, Coach Nick Saban presented Trump with a number 17 jersey.

A Reddit thread on the Great Awakening/QAnon subreddit was dedicated to it.

The thread was titled, "Why does he keep picking #17 for jerseys? Shouldn't he pick #45? Is he making it that obvious?" Some argued on the thread about whether or not the 17 was in reference to the conspiracy theory, to Alabama's 17th national championship or the fact they won it playing in the 2017 season.

The New York Times notes that when Alabama visited President Barack Obama in 2016, they presented him with a jersey numbered "15.".

to Chairman Kim's letter, the president has, and that letter will be delivered shortly.

September.

PRESIDENT VS PRESIDENT TRUMP AND OBAMA MAY CLASH DURING 2018 MIDTERMS - Duration: 13:26.

hello everyone i'm dana perino along with jenna guy Avila juan williams Jesse

Watters and Greg Gutfeld is five o'clock in New York City and this is the five

a fiery moment at the White House a day for US Secretary Sarah Sanders fighting

back against the media as far as I know I'm the first press secretary in the

history of the United States that's required Secret Service protection we'll

have more on that in a moment but first President Trump is back on the campaign

trail tonight in Pennsylvania as a familiar foe emerges to counter his

message in the midterms former President Obama announcing he's planning to stump

for Democrats this fall if it's anything like 2016 the battle between the two

heavyweights is sure to get nasty watch thousands of Americans would be alive

today if not for the open border policies of Barack Obama

they say Donald lacks the foreign policy experience to be President but in

fairness he has spent years meeting with leaders from around the world miss

Sweden miss Argentina misses her bhaijaan President Obama he is the

founder of Isis he's the founder of Isis the Donald is not really a plans guy

he's not really a fax guy either this is a president who doesn't have a clue the

guy says stuff that no buddy would find tolerable if they were applying for a

job at 7-eleven meanwhile Obama is endorsing dozens of Democrats and making

headlines for who he's backing and who he's not he's throwing his weight behind

a congressional candidate in New Mexico who wants to abolish ice and he's

snubbing self-proclaimed socialist Alexandria of kasnia Cortez jesse is

this the election we deserve another rematch between Donald Trump and Brock

to see those who debate wouldn't you that'd be a sound one bath right there I

mean I think the country already rejected a third Obama term when they

rejected Hillary Clinton and Obama doesn't do very well when he's not on

the ballot remember he just got shellacked during both midterms during

his presidency and him getting back on the trail activates the Democratic base

but it also reactivates the Republican base so they're gonna be pretty fired up

when they see him out there stumping I don't believe the country wants to look

backwards I think the country wants to look forwards what we saw during the

Obama years were a terrible economy racial riots a lot of consternation in

the public there wasn't a lot of good things that were happening health care

chaos etc etc now we're in a new environment and for Obama to get back

out there I don't think helps I think actually

hurts the Democrats and gives President Trump a big punching bag that's a very

big target does well when he has something to punch against Juan do you

think that Democrats though will benefit from President Obama being out on the

campaign trail for them tremendously would you like to expand 60% 60% plus

approval rating high energy and we know about his capacity as an orator or just

as a campaigner it's very strong and then when you think about it for example

on these endorsements he has been strategic he endorses candidates where

his endorsement will benefit them he doesn't endorse for example Joe Manchin

in West Virginia which is a strong Trump State he doesn't endorse

Joe Donnelly in Indiana is crying so he's picking his spots and I think he's

doing Stroh very well and also don't forget money cannot stain in politics

and he's very good at raising money and he's going to have his supporters and

people who think he's still the cat's meow come out and when you talk about

energy or something like Jessie was saying health care and so forth health

care cat health care cast is what we got now where you see the Trump

administration trying to provide these inadequate you know subpar plan just

look at what the American people are saying trust the American people once

they're saying they Obama against here's what I would say to you they voted in

2010 in reaction to Obama care remember it was being belittled and demonized at

the time by opponents but boy the Americans people's attitudes have shift

it's a fortune I mean that's the problem like I mean I think Republican you're

talking about Obama care no no I think there's an argument now about

single-payer that's even worse okay I mean I agree with you I think President

Obama does a great job as a campaigner I think that's his strength but the

problem is he has to campaign now against success he has to campaign

against policies that have worked he has to look people in the eye whose taxes

have gone down who have less regulation who has they've been able to expand

their businesses who have more freedom where you have an administration who's

saying we don't like Obamacare we want to find out ways to give you

opportunities to get the health insurance you decide is right for you

and he has to say all of that GDP growth and that that

decreased taxes oh that's all bad so what is he gonna do he's gonna do what

he does best and he's gonna pivot to Republicans and Trump hate immigrants

which is alive Republicans in Trump hate you know all this this nonsense that he

always does it makes a good point Gregg about is President Obama's Jedidiah

Jedidiah she/her makes a good point it can President Obama really go out there

and talk down the economy I mean it's not a good idea to talk down prosperity

oh yes and we can tell by that montage that we showed that everything Obama

said was scripted everything Trump said was off the cuff so that's in Trump's

favor look I feel bad for the Democrats it's like they dropped their iPhone in

the toilet so now they went to the junk drawer to get the flip phone that's

Obama he's the flip phone they had to get something out of storage to save

their party more like iPhone 4 and Hillary cry Minister don't try to screw

with my analogies Dana that's all I've got going and how you know what this is

this is really about time off the media in and the comedian's have been working

really hard and they needed a much much deserved nap Obama's back in town they

know he's off limits you can't make jokes about Obama right no comedians

gonna make any jokes the meetings don't have to meet it is out of the chase

Obama around they don't have to hound him so basically what Obama is it's a

break for the comedians and it's a break for the media because they can't joke

about him I don't blame Obama for coming out of hiding he's basically yesterday's

special on the restaurant blackboard that Trump came out in the morning and

erased no bomb is much better than crooked Hillary and it sets up a big

contrast as opposed to a referendum if there's no big punching bag or villain

for Trump to run against it's a little more difficult but when you have Barack

Obama out there the media is going to hoist those two guys back up into the

center and make it a cage match and as in terms of the endorsements from what

we're hearing he only made those endorsements because his former staff

members were working for those candidates I don't know how strategic it

was and I understand why he didn't endorse Cortes because if he had done

that that would have created a huge huge problem with the Democratic Party

because that would have been a major blow to the centrist wing of the party

and they don't need that kind of fight right now going into the midterm maybe

he also watched some of our interviews because I was

no seriously I mean she when she's posed with a question as to she has these

lofty ideas about oh let's give Medicare for all when you ask her how she's gonna

pay for it her answer is absurd when you ask her about the israeli/palestinian

Christ that she has no idea what she's talking about

so President Obama I agree I disagree with him on a lot of things he's not a

stupid guy I think he's he's probably worried about that you have politically

smart non endorsement so I'm curious how you guys pose this you say oh is Obama

going to run against the economy Obama's the guy that saved me and not only did

he save the American economy at the moment Jesse it's Republicans who are

not are you kidding you must have forgotten we had a great recession in

Obama's responsible for everything good Trump responsible for everything bad I

don't even agree with the reverse come on I'm not I'm just saying go look at

the facts if you want to go look at the UConn economic arrows and directions

coming out of oh wait when Obama was elected first term and what the United

States has done since you'd say session since World War two because guess what

it was a terrible it was the worst recoveries really good very on the

economy this here's the news going into the midterms yes Republicans had planned

to run on the Trump tax cuts everybody is still encouraging Republicans to say

hey talked about the economy folks forget the demonizing of immigrants

forget going after the NFL players and playing all those kind of here are the

Trump rally was talking up the tax cuts very big guess what it's not working

Jesse the American people say they haven't seen their wages increased ways

they're slower these American people that you've been talking to on the Acela

train no you know what you should go look at some poll I looking full

spouting your no no no no that the funny thing is you pick and choose pop polls

and overlook ones like the ones about Russian collusion in which they say dude

they're not interested at all in the in the babble that you

spout oh yeah let me say they are interested in whether or not this

president was having some collusion their optimism has never been hired you

optimism has never been higher and that's not in my notes let me just say

why did why did you see so many Trump officials come out today and say we are

actively engaged in trying to stop the Russians from interfering in the 2016

race it's because Gregg those people understand the American people do care

about the idea of the polling shows that it's not that that issue rank less and

any other issue he wants to talk about Russia because he can't talk about the

economy honestly do people have more jobs right now are the unemployment

numbers the house okay the unemployed people have more money in their pockets

to put food on their people everyday that's a couldn't get a job five years

ago and now I can't know that's what I'm talking about with the economy if he

goes out and he talks about the shrinking unemployment numbers if he

goes out and he talks about providing more opportunities for people with

health care or whatever it may be he goes out and talks about low taxes and

people are feeling those impacts in their pocketbook every day that's all

that matters nobody's gonna be talking about collusion with Russia which by the

way there's been no proof of if they can't put food on the table for their

kids well I would agree but I'm just telling you right now I mean you don't

even have to just say Oh Democrats think this look at what Republican strategist

is saying they would like to get on the economy they like the tongue pump that

up but what they see is it's not working with the voters and up is talking about

of course as we say leave you with one last headline not from a fake news

article from CNBC CNBC says quote worker compensation at highest level since 2008

yeah that's not data correct and it's what you see is it's a

very slow stagnant what you're saying it's just still it's super hard to try

to make that argument it is imperative I try to do it but I think that I don't

think they're running against the economy I think they're just saying be

realistic and most Americans the reason people are frustrated with the economy

generalizations that are not proven what are you gonna say I want to hear what

you were about to say that he cut you off I was just saying it's not that it's

hard to make that the argument that he's trying to make is very hard to make when

the headlines across all the programs other things are better

optimism feels but it's like a feeling so president Trump is going that they're

gonna have a battle weight and you know what actually we don't even know exactly

what is going to happen in October that's always a month when there's big

news on all sorts of things you could have a really good GDP number and a jobs

number of that month that could be the talk of the town there could be some

disaster there could be some you never know what's going to happen but I think

the president is pretty well positioned going into this debate that I'll give

myself the last word White House press secretary Sarah Sanders criticizing the

media after being personally attacked

Jeff Sessions Is In Deep Trouble After Donald Trump Sent This Tweet - Duration: 11:10.

Jeff Sessions Is In Deep Trouble After Donald Trump Sent This Tweet

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is once again at the center of a political firestorm.

Sessions recusal in the Russia investigation was the first domino to fall in a sequence

of events that led to Robert Mueller being charged with leading a rigged witch hunt.

And now Sessions is in deep trouble after President Trump sent this tweet.

The fake news media has been dying for President Trump to make a move against Mueller so they

can claim Trump plunged America into a Constitutional crisis and Congress must immediately act to

impeach him then remove the President from office.

Anti-Trump journalists thought they had their chance when Trump took to Twitter and fought

back against Mueller's rigged witch hunt.

President Trump tweeted:

THIS IS A TERRIBLE SITUATION AND ATTORNEY GENERAL JEFF SESSIONS SHOULD STOP THIS RIGGED

WITCH HUNT RIGHT NOW, BEFORE IT CONTINUES TO STAIN OUR COUNTRY ANY FURTHER.

BOB MUELLER IS TOTALLY CONFLICTED, AND HIS 17 ANGRY DEMOCRATS THAT ARE DOING HIS DIRTY

WORK ARE A DISGRACE TO USA!

Trump haters in the press rejoiced because they believed the President ordered the Attorney

General to fire Mueller in broad daylight.

They had finally caught Trump committing an act of obstruction of justice in broad daylight.

But as usual, they popped the champagne corks too soon.

Multiple Trump aides quickly pointed out that the President didn't give an order.

All Trump did was express his thoughts about the legitimacy of the rigged witch hunt Mueller

is conducting.

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was asked in the daily press briefing if Trump had given

Sessions an order to fire Mueller.

Sanders responded, "It's not an order.

It's the president's opinion.

And it's ridiculous that all of the corruption and dishonesty that's gone on with the launching

of the witch hunt, the president wants to — has watched this process play out.

But he also wants to see it come to an end, as he's stated many times.

And we look forward to that happening."

Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani was at a campaign event in New Hampshire and was quizzed by

reporters about Trump's tweet and if the Attorney General saw this as an order Giuliani

responded, "No it isn't.

It isn't at all.

What it is is what we said it was immediately 'an opinion.'"

"AND HE USED A MEDIUM THAT HE USES FOR OPINIONS – TWITTER.

AND ONE OF THE GOOD THINGS ABOUT USING IT IS THAT HE'S ESTABLISHED A CLEAR SORT OF

PRACTICE NOW THAT HE EXPRESSES HIS OPINIONS ON TWITTER.

HE USED THE WORD 'SHOULD.'

HE DIDN'T USE THE WORD 'MUST' AND THERE WAS NO PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE THAT FOLLOWED.

HE DIDN'T DIRECT HIM TO DO IT. AND HE'S NOT GOING TO DIRECT HIM TO DO IT," GIULIANI

CONCLUDED.

Even Axios' Jonathan Swan weighed in and said Trump knows he can end the Mueller investigation

whenever he wants, but the President knows the swamp is just itching to use it as an

excuse to impeach him.

Swan – who is one of the best-sourced reporters in the media – tweeted:

OF COURSE.

ANYBODY COULD SEE THAT.

TRUMP CAN END MUELLER INVESTIGATION IF HE WANTS TO.

HE HASN'T BECAUSE HE KNOWS CONGRESSIONAL BLOWBACK WOULD BE BEYOND EVEN HIS CONTROL.

THIS MORNING WAS JUST MORE VENTING, MORE UNDERMINING MUELLER.

Do you think Attorney General Jeff Sessions should fire Robert Mueller?

Let us know your thoughts

in the comments section.

'The fake, fake, DISGUSTING news': Trump ramps up his attack on media - Duration: 19:49.

President Donald Trump lashed out at the 'fake, fake, disgusting news media' and 'low-IQ' Maxine Waters during a typically barnstorming speech at a rally in Pennsylvania on Thursday night

Trump asked rowdy supporters in the crowd to 'remember that incredible night' when he won the 2016 election

Then he re-hashed favorite topics including his summits with Kim Jong-un and President Putin; tax cuts; immigration policy; and NATO military spending

He also had a warning for Democrats, saying he was planning to shut down the government if Congress does not grant funding for his border wall, but admitted he was 'a bit torn' whether to do this before or after the midterms

During another attack on the media, Trump criticized news outlets for reporting he was 15 minutes late for a meeting for tea with the Queen during his visit to Britain

A protester was thrown out some 10 minutes into Trump's speech at the overheated arena in Wilkes-Barre as the President shouted 'get them out of here'

Images showed the woman being led away while giving the bird at angry Trump supporters

Time and time again, Trump denounced the press for underselling his accomplishments and doubting his political rise

The President described how he told his wife Melania he had 'just stopped missiles from being launched every two seconds' or accomplished other things, and thought the media' was 'finally going to treat me so good,' but didn't

Trump continued his barrage against the press by commentators for saying he wasn't tough enough on Putin

'They wanted me to go up and have a boxing match,' he said. 'Whatever happened to diplomacy?'Trump described the meeting as 'great' and slammed the 'Russian hoax', claiming Russia was 'unhappy Trump won'

'In Helsinki, I had a great meeting with (Russian President Vladimir) Putin. We got along really well,' he said

'By the way, that's a good thing, not a bad thing. Now, we're being hindered by the Russian hoax — it's a hoax, ok?'Trump then moved on to his meeting with the Queen during his visit to Britain

He said: 'I was asked to have tea with the Queen, who is incredible by the way. Incredible

'I landed [and] I'm on the ground and I'm waiting with the King's and the Queen's guards, wonderful people

I'm waiting. I was about 15 minutes early and I'm waiting with my wife and that's fine

Hey, it's the Queen, right? We can wait. But I'm a little early.'  RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 2 Next Paul Manafort burned through millions then couldn't pay his

We then go up and we have tea. And I didn't know this - it was supposed to last 15 minutes but it lasted like an hour

Because we got along. And she liked our first lady and our first lady liked her.'But we got along fantastically well

But the time went by - you know, sometimes you get along and the time goes by.'So here was the story by the fake news: The president was 15 minutes late for the Queen

Wrong.'And then, here's the rest of the story: The president overstayed. So I was late and I overstayed

But honestly, folks, it was such a beautiful, beautiful visit and afternoon.'But they can make anything bad because they are the fake, fake, disgusting news

'He earlier said he has 'great respect for the UK - the United Kingdom. Great respect

'The president then discussed the country's names, explaining: 'People call it 'Britain', they call it 'Great Britain'

They used to call it 'England', different parts. But the UK - great respect.'Ratcheting up his attacks on the media, Trump then lambasted the 'fake, fake, disgusting news media' to chants of 'CNN sucks'

He also appeared to mock cancer-stricken senator John McCain over his 2017 vote against repealing Obamacare during a rally in Pennsylvania on Thursday

'I had Obamacare done except one guy at two o'clock in the morning. Went in and said

He went, thumbs down,' Trump told the crown in Wilkes-Barre while making an exaggerated thumbs-down gesture and grimacing

The President did not explicitly name McCain but the reference was clear as he was the sole GOP no vote

Trump criticized him for opposing the bill 'even though he campaigned for years' in support of repeal

'Whatever happened to the free press? Whatever happened to honest reporting?' Trump asked, pointing to the media in the back of the hall

'They don't report it. They only make up stories.'Trump said he had received 'good press' before becoming president, and said he 'didn't need' the job

The President was speaking in Wilkes-Barre to back Rep. Lou Barletta, who is running to unseat two-term incumbent Democratic Senator Bob Casey

Immigration was a key theme of the address, with the President referring to the truck attack in New York in October last year as evidence of the need for tougher entry restrictions

Trump defended ICE officers, calling them 'warriors' and slammed Democrats for what he described as they support for 'open borders and more crime'

He also referred to his recent threat to shut down the government if Congress did not grant more money for immigration projects including the border wall

The President cited Republican lawmakers who have told him that a government shutdown before the midterms is a bad idea, but followed this by saying how Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity thought it was a good one

Trump said he was 'a little bit torn' over when to shut down the government, but said he would 'personally prefer before' the midterm elections

'Whether it's before or after, we're either getting it or we're closing down government,' he said

As an aside, he joked that he would use reverse psychology to convince Democrats to provide money for the wall

The President told the crowd he would say he did not want the wall and then, 'they'll insist on building it

'An attack on Hillary Clinton was greeted by chants of 'lock her up!' Trump responded to these by saying: 'Oh no

no. They only want to go after Republicans,' appearing to refer to the Justice Department

'They don't want to do anything,' he said, before adding that things would be changing soon

Maxine Waters also came in for several attacks, with Trump calling the California representative 'low-IQ' following her attacks on his immigration policy

Though Barletta's bid was an undercard to the Trump's main event, savaging his opponents, the president did bless the congressman's bid, calling him a 'legend'

Trump, who has accelerated his campaign schedule in recent weeks to help the Republicans he favors both in primaries and November's midterms, was the first Republican to win Pennsylvania since 1988

'For years and years, they said Republicans should win the state of Pennsylvania,' Trump said

'It always got away. But we won the state of Pennsylvania.'He and Barletta, who is trailing by double digits in the polls, share hard-line immigration views, and Trump lashed Casey with his own derogatory nickname: 'Sleeping Bob

' But Trump's focus was defending his own accomplishments and beliefs. He pushed for tougher borders, overstating the threat posed by violent gangs like MS-13 and making the murderous group a stand-in for all immigrants in the United States illegally

He defended his approach to both Kim and Putin, saying, 'it would be a good thing, not a bad thing' to have warmer relations with the hostile powers and dismissing the talk that meeting with the autocrats elevated them on the world stage

He bashed the Democratic leadership of Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and, curiously, suggested that his frequent foe Rep

Maxine Waters of California was 'a new star' of the party. He raved about the booming economy and said, without evidence, that his blue-collar supporters in states like Pennsylvania were the biggest beneficiaries

Trump hailed Republican tax cuts for boosting business and claimed they had led to US steel 'opening seven new plants

AP's fact checking service found the claim was inaccurate, as the Pittsburgh-based company has made no such announcement

US Steel spokeswoman Meghan Cox declined to comment on Trump's claim but said any 'operational changes' such as the opening of new mills would be 'publicly announced' and 'made available on our website' if it occurred

Trump also looked ahead to his 2020 re-election campaign, touting his new slogan, 'Keep America Great Again' while musing whether he wanted Massachusetts Sen

Elizabeth Warren, whom he decried as 'Pocahontas,' or Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, whom he flatly deemed 'crazy,' as his opponent

The rally came at a perilous time for the President, who the day before bluntly declared his attorney general should terminate 'right now' the federal probe into the campaign that took him to the White House, a newly fervent attack on the special counsel investigation that could imperil his presidency

Sanders scrambled to explain that Trump's tweet was 'not an order' and the president was not directing his attorney general to do anything

'It's the president's opinion,' she said. But Trump's tweetstorm again raised the specter that he could try to more directly bring special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia-Trump election-collusion probe to a premature end

And it revived the idea that the president's tweets themselves might be used as evidence that he is attempting to obstruct justice

Earlier in the day, Trump took to Twitter to explain his daughter Ivanka Trump's assertion that the media is not the 'enemy of the people,' saying that she meant the 'FAKE NEWS' is 'the enemy of the people

' 'They asked my daughter Ivanka whether or not the media is the enemy of the people

She correctly said no. It is the FAKE NEWS, which is a large percentage of the media, that is the enemy of the people!,' he wrote on Twitter Thursday afternoon

Ivanka refused to join her father earlier in the day in bashing the media as the 'enemy of the people

' She disagreed with her father's characterization of the 'fake news media,' saying she doesn't see the press as her enemy

'No, I do not,' she said Thursday, when asked if she thinks, as the president does, that the media is 'the enemy of the people

'More than 100 protesters lined up on either side of the sidewalk ahead of the rally, forcing Trump's supporters to walk a narrow gantlet on their way to the arena as protesters scream at them, 'Shame! Shame! Shame!'Thirty-six-year-old union laborer Jeff LaFrance held up one end of a giant 'Impeach Trump' sign and says he has no sympathy for the rally attendees

He said he thought 'it's shameful they could support someone the likes of Trump.'He also called Trump's supporters 'willfully ignorant' about issues like the separation of migrant children from their parents at the U

S. border. Most rallygoers ignored the taunts, but some engaged, yelling 'Trump! Trump!' or muttering epithets

One man replied cheerfully, 'I'm a proud Deplorable!'

💥 EXPLOSIVE White House Press Briefing (July 18, 2018) HISTORIC President Trump Putin Summit - Duration: 24:45.

EXPLOSIVE White House Press Briefing (July 18, 2018) HISTORIC President Trump Putin Summit

good afternoon couple of announcements the president will be traveling to

Kansas City Missouri next Tuesday July 24th he will address the Veterans of

Foreign Wars 119th annual convention President Trump is committed to our

veterans and his work to reform the VA and to ensure veterans are given the

care and support they deserve the president looks forward to being with

the more than 4,000 veterans in attendance yesterday the US Senate

confirmed Randy Quarles as the vice chair for

supervision at the Federal Reserve but it is unfortunate that his nomination

was continually delayed there are still three more nominees to the Fed who have

yet to receive a vote it is inexcusable that Senate Democrats have delayed

confirming the president's nominees an even worse example of a necessary delay

is the nomination of Don stump to be a commissioner on the Commodity Futures

Trading Commission there's no opposition to her but yet she has been waiting for

400 days for a vote we urge Senate Democrats to stop these

unnecessary delays and confirm these qualified nominees lastly on behalf of

the president and the White House we offer prayers for United States Secret

Service Special Agent Noll Edward remain and his family including his wife and

two young children The Secret Service announced this

morning that agent R Omega n-- suffered a stroke while on duty in Scotland last

week and has tragically passed away he was a 5 year veteran of the United

States Marines and spent 19 years with the Secret Service the President and the

First Lady are deeply grateful for his lifetime of devotion to his country and

the men and women of the Secret Service make enormous sacrifices for our safety

and security and we are forever in their debt and with that I will take your

questions major earlier she asked the president

is Russia still targeting the US she said no is that what the president

actually believes do you understand the question and is his position that no

Russia is not doing anything to interfere or medal of the 2018 election

a chance to speak with the president after his comments and the president was

said thank you very much and was saying no to answering questions the president

and his administration are working very hard to make sure that right Russia is

unable to meddle in our elections as they have done in the past as if we have

stated leave is going off well since there's currently not an election today

not specifically but we certainly believe that we are taking steps to make

sure they can't do it again unlike previous administrations this

president is actually taking bold action and reform to make sure it doesn't

happen again but he does believe that they would target certainly u.s.

elections again when the president and the DNI coach who said the red lights

are blinking on this top said that's why we're taking steps to ensure that these

things don't happen again we wouldn't actually spend as much time and effort

as we are if we didn't believe that they were still looking at us from the

beginning of his administration president Trump has actually taken

action to defend our election system for meddling and interference I'm going to

read through a few of the things that we're doing in May of 2017 president

Trump signed an executive order to strengthen and review the cyber security

of our nation in its critical infrastructure the Department of

Homeland Security has taken the lead in working with all 50 states local

governments and private companies to improve election security DHS has

increased coordination among all election partners 34 States 52 county

and local governments and five election companies receive cyber security scans

regularly from DHS DHS plans to provide on-site risk and vulnerability

assessments to all states that request it so far 18 states have requested this

assessment a new pilot program was launched to increase Rapid Response

capabilities on election day and in 2017 on-site cyber security support was

provided in March of 2018 Congress the election assistance Commission with

380 million dollars in funding for election assistance grants to States

these are steps that we've taken to prevent it from happening these are

steps that we've taken because we see that there's a threat there

Cecilia clarifying what you just said dan coates said point blank the threat

is still ongoing from Russia does this White House believe that currently this

threat is still ongoing certainly like I just said we believe that their threat

still exists which is why are we are taking steps to prevent it again you

wouldn't go through that lengthy process if you weren't clarify these comments

from this presentation does the president stand by all of his

other public comments on the trip including his eating an interview

criticizing Teresa maids handling of the Rights Association since comments that

rush over better than they've ever uttered control Germany over pipeline

and other comments in that press conference Monday where he continued to

doubt throwing a cast doubt on the intelligence of these assessment of

Russian Bentley 2016 16 by all of those again the president saw need to clarify

the position he saw how his comments were being interpreted he looked at the

transcript and clarified those comments as have any response to the arrest and

indictment of a Russian national who's accused of tried to infiltrate

American civil organizations purely on fright into Chinese influence American

politics certainly we're looking at that but just to clarify I know that there

was a massive media hysteria yesterday over a confusion between that individual

and a White House staffer which I think shows frankly the outrageousness and the

just desire to find the negative and everything that this president does just

because somebody was simply redheaded they were accused of being some sort of

spy for Russia I think that this has gotten totally out of control

you guys need to take a little bit of a step back slow down and quit going after

the Trump administration on every single response to me you have no responsibly

nobody ever says where I said we're looking at it

but this is a lengthy process we're going through it however I do have a

response to the fact that simply because somebody had the same hair color they

were accused of being a Russian spy by a large number of people frankly in this

room Roberto the president

and Secretary of State both spoke about progress being made in talks trade talks

with Mexico and I'm wondering whether trilateral talks with Mexico and Canada

and also the bilateral talks with Canada are effectively off the table for now

is the administration choosing to go with Mexico when they see this progress

and forget about the trial court we're continuing both of those tracks we

see a lot of progress on the conversations with Mexico and if we

could make a bilateral deal with them we're certainly very happy to do that

but again we're continuing both conversations both tracks Maggie thank

you Sarah Russian authorities yesterday named several Americans who they want a

question they claim were involved in Hill brothers quote-unquote crimes and

in their charms including a former ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul this

president Trump's support that idea is he opening US officials question the

president's gonna meet with his team and we'll let you know when we have an

announcement on that for a second is that a topic that came up in their

conversation hasn't raised this with president Truong uh there was some

conversation about it but there wasn't a commitment made on behalf of the United

States and the president will work with his team and will let you know if

there's an announcement on that front Blake the president earlier today said

that there could be quote tremendous retribution for the European Union if

there's not a deal struck on auto imports in the past he has talked about

potentially putting a tariff of 20 percent is that what he meant today by

tremendous retribution or is it possible he does even

certainly that's an option on the table that the president is considering but we

are in the investigation process right now and we'll let you know we have an

announcement you makes you brought up the Fed the the beige book just came out

which is anecdotes from across the country what's happening with the

economy here's some of the headlines manufacturers are concerned about

Terrace they're dealing with higher prices because trade tariffs are

increasing metal prices and egg prices have fallen because of Chinese Terence

it's not necessarily a rosy picture with the terrorist situation your response to

those headlines would be flatly yeah the president has focused on long-term

economic principles we have one of the strongest economies that we've had in

decades he continues to look for ways to help protect American workers and he's

going to continue to do that on a number of different fronts in a number of

different ways again this is short-term and the president hopes to open up a

number of different markets and to create a more playing trade field across

the globe two questions the first one in Finland

President Trump talked about the stances of the US intelligence community in

Russia he said both it's both hard I have confidence in both parties after a

young woman was killed in Charlottesville not in Choctaw Virginia

after protesting neo-nazis he said I think there's blame on both sides some

people see the president continuously making false equivalencies and

equivalences what do you say that I criticism I would not compare the two

situations the president I think said exactly what he thought yesterday in his

remarks and I would refer you back to this job quit and also does the

presidency that interference in the 2015 election and possibly in the midterms as

an attack on democracy American democracy u.s. the secretary for

homeland security that is an attack on American democracy

but the president said that the Democrats were weak that Republicans

basically had better systems and he didn't see it as an issue of American

democracy or just his opponents being attacked again the president thinks that

we have to focus on securing our election integrity in our election

systems which is why he has spent so much time with his administration making

sure that this doesn't happen again let's not forget that this didn't happen

under president Trump's watch this happened under the Obama administration

we're taking steps we're making bold reforms to try to fix this and make sure

it never happens again because we take it seriously and because we recognize

that our election system are incredibly important and is certainly a cornerstone

of our democracy Josh the president spent two hours of 10:00 that was by the

Futenma deal we made on Syria was their domain on anything to give us any sense

of what came out of that meeting certainly as the president said a number

of issues were raised including Syrian humanitarian aid Iran's nuclear ambition

Israeli security North Korea and denuclearization Ukraine and the

occupation of Crimea reducing Russian and US nuclear arsenals and of course

your favorite topic Russia's interference in our elections all of

these issues were talked about this is the beginning of the dialogue with

Russia and our administration and theirs and we're going to continue working

through those things but those were all of the topics and certainly probably

others that were covered follow up on a number of issues from the indexing of

Crimea to the election meddling the president's seem suspect more time

criticizing his predecessor Barack Obama for letting it happen under his telling

man Planeteer Putin do you have any sense

why the president has not been more critical for some of these events

the entire world stages has really gone after about look I think the president

as he has said many times before has been tougher on Russia than anybody I

think you can see that in all of the actions that he's taken whether it was a

plant that was closed due to aluminum and steel tariffs that were put in place

by this president the Treasury Department has issued new sanctions on

numerous individuals and entities in Russia the president's continued

sanctions on Russia's malicious cyber activity in response to election hacking

we've expelled 60 Russian operatives from the United States and closed two

consulates president trump issued four statements condemning Russia's poisoning

EXPLOSIVE White House Press Briefing (July 18, 2018) HISTORIC President Trump Putin Summit

of UK citizens on UK soil authorized the sale of lethal aid to Ukraine authorized

military strikes against the Assad regime in Syria and has repeatedly

called out Russia's actions exporting energy to our allies in Eastern Europe

look the president has been extremely tough on Russia and to say anything

different just not true leaders by name far more often I'm glad i'm a boudreaux

I want you criticized by that I think he has I think he has called them out for

interfering our election he's been tough on Russia repeatedly and he's taken

action against Russia on a number of fronts that I just listed off why wasn't

he critical for further contractions what they had a number of conversations

the president discussed some of these things directly face-to-face with

Vladimir Putin he addressed him again yesterday the president also sees this

as an opportunity as he said many times to be able to work with Russia he

recognizes the fact that 90 percent of the world's nuclear weapons are under

the direction of the United States and Russia he thinks it's a good thing to

get along with the other person that controls that much of the nuclear

arsenal across the globe he wants to create a more stable world a more

peaceful world and we can't do that if we can't get along with Russia in some

capacity and so certainly we've called him out we've been tough we've

approached this in a totally different fashion that has been previously done

because what's been done in the past hasn't worked

so we're trying a new approach but to act like he hasn't been tough on Russia

that he hasn't called them out is simply not true and it simply completely

changes everything that this administration has done in regards to

that country Josh I'm gonna keep going Justin um I'm gonna go you described the

negative impacts of the trade conflict with China the short term but that's

only true if we're able to strike a better deal and from the outside since

the tariffs went on one two weeks ago that seems like those negotiations have

broken down so I'm wondering to be tell us the status of them are why the

Treasury secretary isn't meeting along with China when it's in Argentina for

the g20 and what it would take from the Chinese or from the US to restart those

calm look I'm not going to negotiate with you guys I'm gonna leave that to

secretary minuchin an ambassador Ally to Heiser we're continuing to have

conversations with China we're continuing to look for ways that we can

have a better trade deal with them

Maggie's question because she asked about the idea that Putin offered

essentially allowing robert muller and his investigators to go to russia to

oversee or witness the interrogations of the russian military intelligence

officers if the US would reciprocate have Russian investigators come here to

watch American citizens face questions about the crimes that they allegedly

committed in Russia the president called it an interesting

idea he said it was an incredible offer why would he say that he said it was an

interesting idea he didn't commit to anything he wants to work with his team

and determine if there's any validity that would be helpful to the process but

again we've committed to nothing and it was an idea that they threw out Sarah

some Democrats on Capitol Hill now are saying that they want to drag the

translator who is in the room with the President and Vladimir Putin before

congressional committees to find out exactly what was said in their private

meeting is that something that the White House would ever support that's

something that would go through the State Department

Mike yeah the list of subjects you went through historically for that one-on-one

game everything let's our mister with sanctions discussed it all into the

present bring an apple or the president whose string it up to

the present problem I'm not aware I'd have to ask to be sure calyx one quick

one yesterday that the president's revision it was kind of seen widely that

he was leading himself a little bit of room when he said there could have been

others to move metal was he referring to any specific intelligence on that or was

that his instinct certainly the president receives a number of briefings

and has talked about this subject pretty extensively we're aware of others that

have made attempts but I can't get into any of that here at this point having a

few questions for you and I want to just clarify somebody talked about forgetting

the briefing so despite the video that shows the president looking at Cecilia

and answering no to this question about whether Russia is still targeting the US

and despite multiple people in the room understanding that the president was

responding to that question and despite the president having never before said

the word no-no repeatedly to usher reporters out of the room yes you're

saying they're saying it to reverse you're saying the president is the first

thing that the president said after the question was asked was thank you very

much and they said no I'm not answering any

more questions and even further I think even Cecilia didn't realize what the

answer was because she asked for clarification and he didn't answer the

follow-up I talked to the president he wasn't answering that question he was

saying no he's not taking questions and I've stated what our position is which

is the president this is the second time in three days that the president of the

White House has come out and reversed what the president has said in actually

what I'm interpreting what the president said I'm not reversing an opposite way

while I was in the remedy well and I didn't take it the way you did to watch

it but why should this president have any credibility to Americans in what he

says if in fact 24 hours later or in this case three hours later the White

House comes out and says just kidding first of all that's not what I said

I was interpreting what the president is intention was and stating the

administration's policy it's not exactly what you just explained we never said

just kidding and I think and I think that you can

take the fact that the president has credibility because he saw that he had

misspoken and he wanted to clarify that yesterday which he did so when he sees

that he's misspoken he comes out and he says you told Josh the president has

been once again pally I'm moving on to Jordan Jordan go ahead sorry go ahead

thanks Jordan you said I'm gonna take a question from people and I start a wet

because I don't think any of us remember at least I don't remember a time in the

president has publicly called up Vladimir Putin I think by stating the

fact that the president said that Russia interfered with our election that's a

pretty bold call out of another world leader Jordan go ahead senators Rubio

bent Hamid introduced legislation that would impose new sanctions on Russia if

the intelligence agencies find a medal in the 2010 midterms or in the future

with the president from support proposal like that we're not gonna get into a

hypothetical situation until we until we see you know a final piece of

legislation and also a determination if there's election meddling again our goal

is to stop that from happening which is why we've spent such a significant

amount of time in the first year and a half of our administration focusing on

protecting the election integrity

steroids bonus surprise are included with that please if we could go out

people you choose not to call of me it's voter suppression part of that election

process that the president is trying to look for him are you not gonna answer

that though expire you know the couchy issues

that our community in America ongoing asked about you got the answer John go

ahead that's alright fun Thank You Sara I wanted to ask you about

immediate reaction to the president's comments that he made at that point

press conference in Elsa if it wasn't media every cable channel Fox NBC CNN

reacted immediately to the suggestion the president made that he did not

believe that Russia interfered in the u.s. presidential election I got my

inbox inundated with emails from Republican members of Congress with

their reaction immediately in 24 hours to 24 hours for president to correct the

record why did it take so long for the president to clarify the comments that

he made at that press conference look the president put out an initial tweet

after boarding Air Force One that clarified his comments on the

intelligence community wanted to make sure that was clear and at the very

first chance he had in a public setting the following day he clarified his

comments and I don't think that it was that long for that to be the very first

public appearance that he had following arriving back to the United States

actually it's a pretty long time and it was out there for it wasn't actually 24

hours before he responded at all again he put out an initial tweet from Air

Force One comment on this to clarify his remarks to change the wood to wood it

or wooden to wood and I think that you know a lot of people would argue that

there was ample time for the president he tweets all the time from air force

pond anywhere he did that to put out a statement which clarified what he meant

to say during the joint news conference and he didn't do that

what's so long as my question once he reviewed the transcript he wanted to

publicly he wanted to publicly address the clarification in which he did

Congress to impeach Deputy Attorney General rod roses scene is that

something that the White House would support for the lack of cooperation and

turning over documents to Congress the president's made clear he liked all

documents to be turned over but we're continuing to work with the art

department of justice I don't have anything further with the White House to

announce that everything do they have the did they have confidence within the

Deputy Attorney General the president would like to see the documents turned

over when the president no longer has confidence in someone his administration

will let you know general on a Friday at a press conference with Prime Minister

day I asked the president as he was leaving whether or not he would tell

Vladimir Putin to stay out of US elections as he was leaving with Prime

Minister he said yes did the president tell that Amir Putin at their summit in

Helsinki to stay out of US elections certainly the president as both he and

President Putin said discussed election meddling I think we've made very clear

what our position is on that I'm saying that they discussed election meddling

but did the president of the United States tell the President of Russia to

stay out of the u.s. election mr. president the president has made clear

to Vladimir Putin that he should stay out of US elections I'm sorry I'm

we'll go ahead reserved record it was a report last question it was a recording

made of their one-on-one meeting as I exist I'm not aware so Sarah that you

say that the president is very concerned about the election process you talk

about what he's doing you did not you did not mention voter suppression in

that voter suppression has been an issue for for decades and particularly in

these last few elections his voter suppression down the table when he was

talking about voter fraud people were talking about voter suppression as well

his voter suppression on the table is life we want to do everything within our

power to protect the integrity of our elections and we're going to look at

that on a number of fronts the reason I dress address these specific issues is

because of Russia's involvement in our elections in the past I'm going to take

one last question so I want to change a topic a minute if I may and go south

sure I think that thank you and so the incoming president of Mexico

has made two very bold suggestions number one he's looking at giving

EXPLOSIVE White House Press Briefing (July 18, 2018) HISTORIC President Trump Putin Summit

amnesty to the drug cartels operating within there today they come out and say

they're seriously looking at legalizing all drugs in Mexico now if they do that

obviously it's going to have a tremendous impact on the incoming amount

of drugs in the deep into the United States what is the president's position

on that and are they going to do anything to stop that from happening

everyone in Mexico certainly we're going to continue engaging with our Mexican

partners I don't have a specific policy announcement on that front however I can

say that we would not support the legalization of all drugs anywhere and

certainly wouldn't want to do anything that would allow more drugs to come into

this country thanks so much have a great day
