Trump says he will be 'proud' to shut down the government IF he doesn't get his Mexican wall - Duration: 13:00.

Trump says he will be 'proud' to shut down the government for YEARS if he doesn't get his Mexican wall

Donald Trump told Congressional leaders Friday that he will shut down the government for 'months or even years' if he does not get money for his border wall with Mexico — and said he was 'proud' to do it because it's the right thing.

Trump's threat was first disclosed by Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader, during a news conference outside the White House.

He accused the president of holding federal workers 'hostage' for the wall and urged him to continue the conversation with the government open. The president confirmed the remarks as he addressed reporters in the Rose Garden.

I did say that. Absolutely, I said that. I don't think it will, but I am prepared,' Trump said at the beginning of a lengthy news conference.

Trump claimed the meeting was 'very, very productive,' which was a stark contrast to the tone adopted by Democratic leaders, and said that he was setting up a working group led by Mike Pence, the vice president that would meet this weekend to discuss how to move forward on the shutdown.

He headed to the Rose Garden after the meeting for an impromptu press conference flanked by Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, Pence, Republican Minority Whip Steve Scalise and Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

Mitch McConnell, the Republican Senate leader had been present for the talks but was not at the press conference. Trump claimed he was 'busy running the Senate,' even though it had adjourned until Tuesday.

Trump described his wall as a vital national security measure, and in a free-wheeling performance claimed that illegal immigrants were being driven across it away from ports of entries, in some cases with women in the back of their vehicles with their mouths taped over.

The president also disclosed that he had considered declaring a national emergency to build the wall without legislative approval and said: 'I can do it, if I want.

'We can call a national emergency because of the security of our country. Absolutely. No, we can do it. I haven't done it. I may do it,' he said. 'We can call a national emergency and build it very quickly.'.

He said he'd prefer to do it through a 'negotiated process' with lawmakers, and that's what they will be working on over the weekend.

'You can call it whatever you want. You can call it the Schumer, or the Pelosi, or the Trump shutdown. Doesn't make any difference to me,' he told a reporter.

He also used the press conference to say that he had asked the Democrats if they would use the shutdown to impeach him.

Schumer, Pelosi, their deputies and their Republican opposites had met with Trump at the White House for two hours of talks with Trump as the shutdown went on for a fourteenth day.

Trump insisted that 'progress' was made — although he wouldn't say what it was — and that both sides were in agreement on reopening the government as quickly as possible.

As Pelosi left the White House she told reporters the talks were 'sometimes contentious. Schumer echoed her comments. 'It is very hard to see how progress will be made unless the open up the government,' he said in brief remarks.

Schumer said: 'We made a plea to the president once again: don't hold millions of Americans, hundreds of thousands of workers, hostage. Open up the government, and let's continue the discussions.'.

The Democrat said Trump indicated in the meeting that he was willing to ride the shutdown out. 'He said he would keep it closed for a very long period of time, months or even years,' Schumer added.

There was no mention from the Democratic leaders of a possible deal floated by Pence, who had suggested that the president could use a program giving legal status to illegal immigrant children as an incentive for Democrats to give him is border wall.

Pence said that Trump's stance heading into a Friday morning meeting with congressional leaders is 'no wall, no deal,' but he's willing to negotiate other aspects of an agreement to reopen the government.

'I think the president's made it very clear -- no wall, no deal,' he told Tucker Carlson after the Fox News host asked about the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

'But look, we really are prepared to negotiate, we're prepared to talk, we're prepared to listen,' he added.

Trump claimed at the presser once again that an appeals court squashed a DACA deal last year when it protected the program his administration axed.

'That's what broke up the DACA deal. Yes, we had a pathway, we had many things, that was getting close to being a deal,' he said. 'The problem was that the money was a very small amount of money.'.

The president said that the $25 billion over 10 years that the legislation appropriated only provided $1 billion up front for his wall and he didn't want to have to go back to Congress and ask for the money each year.

He signaled he wouldn't sign the bill he seemed to be referring to at the time because it provided a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrant children. He smacked it down as amnesty for illegals.

Pelosi has said that DACA alone is not enough for her caucus to give the president his border wall funding, anyway. He's asking for north of $5.6 billion at this point.

The president didn't say what he offered Democrats, or what they may have agreed to, as he took one last shot at getting the government back on track before the end of the current pay period.

'I don't want to get into that, because I don't want to put them in a position where they have to justify anything to a lot of the people they have to make happy.

He used the response as an opportunity to say that the nation does not want children dying on the way up from Central America to the United States and traveling in caravans.

Pelosi said Thursday that she'd be willing to give the president a dollar for the wall to get the government back open, but she was only half-seriously responding to a reporter's question about the potential for an agreement.

House Democrats passed bills providing no money for the wall last night that would fund the Department of Homeland Security for a little more than a month.

The White House has said that Trump would not sign the legislation, and the Senate did not bother to put it on the floor.

As leaders departed the Capitol for their meeting on the other side of town with Trump, the Senate adjourned until Tuesday morning, ensuring that the government shutdown would continue for at least three more days.

Trump meanwhile sent each Member of Congress a slideshow prepared Nielsen that the White House previously suggested was so sensitive that it could only be viewed in a classified setting.

GOP leaders and the White House also complained that Pelosi and Schumer walked out of the Wednesday briefing early and rudely interrupted the president's Cabinet secretary.

The White House said in a Friday statement that Trump had sent the slideshow briefing to every member of Congress, as such. It also shared the presentation with the media.

It was not clear why the presentation needed to take place in the Situation Room of the White House if the information could be distributed far and wide. It is usually used for classified meetings.

A notice claimed, 'Some of those present did not want to hear the presentation at the time, and so the President decided to make it available to all Members of Congress.

It didn't come up at the president's press conference, where a congresswoman's calls for his impeachment and a pay raise his Cabinet members were due to receive were also discussed.

Trump made his first appearance behind the podium in the White House press briefing room on Thursday afternoon to plug his border wall on camera. He left without taking questions ten minutes later to the shock and dismay of assembled press.

He made sure he had the last word on Friday, giving an impromptu press conference in the Rose Garden on an unseasonably warm winter day.

The temperature was 50 degrees Fahrenheit in Washington during the remarks that Trump wore an overcoat to. His vice president, accompanying lawmakers and DHS secretary signaled toward the end that they were cold.

Trump offered his jacket to a shivering Nielsen but she declined and rubbed her hands together, instead, as the president forged on with questions. He let House McCarthy and Scalise deliver remarks after Pence and had Nielsen take a question on terrorism.

As they were leaving, Pence turned around to tell DailyMail. com that he'd reject a pay raise coming to him as an unintentional effect of the shutdown.

Democrats also spoke to press from the president's driveway, reiterating in their position that they will give him no money for the wall.

The White House has repeatedly suggested that Pelsoi would loosen her grip on border wall funding once she was formally named speaker. Trump has repeatedly claimed that Democrats are refusing him to have a platform to run on in 2020.

But the California Democrat has continued to be firm in her resolve that wall funding is not coming. 'We're not doing a wall,' Pelosi said Thursday after she'd taken the gavel in the House. 'It has nothing to do with politics.

It has to do with a wall is an immorality between countries. It's an old way of thinking. It isn't cost effective.'.

Tiffany Trump Shows Off Her Hunky Boyfriend At White House After Meeting At Lindsay Lohan's Club - N - Duration: 3:01.

Tiffany Trump is finally making boyfriend Michael Boulos official. We've got their pic at the White House after meeting last summer in Greece at Lindsay's Lohan's beach club.

Tiffany Trump has had a hunky boyfriend she met in Greece last summer and now he's both White House and Instagram official! The 25-year-old first daughter posted a photo to Instagram alongside handsome Michael Boulos on Jan. 4, even though it was taken nearly a month prior. In it the couple is standing in front of a brightly lit Christmas tree in the White House's Red Room, and both are smartly dressed. Tiffany posted a photo in the same spot wearing the same gorgeous black dress without Michael on Dec. 13, so she's just now making their relationship public after months of low-key dating.

The pair reportedly met at Lindsay Lohan's beach club on the Greek island of Mykonos in the summer of 2018, a source tells PEOPLE. An insider revealed to Page Six in November that the couple was lying low and not ready to go public yet. "Tiffany is happy she has so far been able to keep things with Michael under the radar. But she introduced him to her family at Thanksgiving, and he comes across as a very intelligent young man from a great family," the site reported.

Michael is of Lebanese decent but grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, where his family has several wildly successful business enterprises. They own a massive company, SCOA Nigeria, that trades vehicles, equipment, retail, and construction. They also founded Boulos Enterprises. While his Instagram is set to private, Michael describes himself as working in "Project Management Finance and Risk" and that he attended the City University of London where he currently resides. Hey, when you both come from extremely wealthy families, having a long distance relationship with someone an ocean away isn't all that hard.

This is Tiffany's first serious boyfriend since she broke up with college sweetheart Ross Mechanic after two years together in the fall of 2017. The split was reportedly "cordial" and mainly due to the fact that President Donald Trump's daughter was starting law school at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. while data engineer Ross was based in NYC. Now she's one smitten kitten with her hunky new beau.

President Trump Will Resign in 2019, Former Bush Adviser Predicts: Here's Why - 247 news - Duration: 5:23.

A former adviser for George W. Bush has laid out one possible — and fast-approaching — end to the presidency of Donald Trump: He will be out of office by the end of the year, resigning so as to avoid criminal prosecution.

In a Tuesday column for NJ.com, Alan J. Steinberg — who served as an Environmental Protection Agency regional administrator under Bush — predicted that while there are not enough Congressional votes to remove Trump, he will resign in 2019 in exchange for immunity from prosecution.

"The self-professed supreme dealmaker will use his presidency as a bargaining chip with federal and state authorities in 2019, agreeing to leave office in exchange for the relevant authorities not pursuing criminal charge against him, his children or the Trump Organization," predicted the political operative and pundit, who also advised New Jersey Gov. Christie Whitman.

Steinberg wrote that he believed Trump would turn to such an arrangement because both his historic unpopularity and the specter of an economic downtown make the chances of re-election in 2020 slim.

He went on to say that while Trump could easily be impeached by the House of Representatives, where the Democrats have once again taken control, it's "highly unlikely" enough Republicans senators would vote to convict and remove Trump from office.

"There are only two years left in Trump's presidential term," Steinberg wrote. "With his approval ratings in an abysmal state, and the forthcoming recession making it near impossible for Trump to stage a political recovery, it appears most likely that he will use the continuation of his presidency as a bargaining chip."

While some Democratic lawmakers have vocally supported impeachment proceedings, such a move so far lacks broad political support.

Nancy Pelosi, who was just named the new speaker of the house, has said that she's not rushing that way.

It "would be a sad thing for our country; it would be very divisive," she told Elle in an interview published on Wednesday.

The following day, Pelosi added during an interview on Today that her focus is on "getting results for the American people," not removing the president from office.

"Let's just see what [Robert] Mueller does," she said of the special counsel probing ties between Russian officials and Trump's presidential campaign.

Critics' drumbeat for impeachment has grown louder since Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison for lying to Congress about Trump's prior business dealings with Russia and making illegal "hush money" payments to women who claim to have had affairs with Trump.

Though the president has vigorously dismissed any such talk publicly, he has reportedly grown worried in recent months about being impeached.

"I did talk to a source close to the president who said earlier this evening that the president has expressed concern that he could be impeached," Jim Acosta, CNN's chief White House correspondent, told Anderson Cooper in December.

Most recently, on Friday — with the federal government shutdown nearing its third week — Trump expressed skepticism that impeachment could be in his future, highlighting (and exaggerating) his achievements.

"How do you impeach a president who has won perhaps the greatest election of all time, done nothing wrong (no Collusion with Russia, it was the Dems that Colluded), had the most successful first two years of any president, and is the most popular Republican in party history 93%?" he wrote on Twitter.

"Things will settle down," Trump wrote in a separate message, contending that Democrats "only want to impeach me because they know they can't win in 2020, too much success!"

In absence of a path forward, the shutdown could become the longest in American history, surpassing the previous record of 21 days in the '90s, under President Bill Clinton and a Republican-led Congress, according to CNN.

Trump's Tweets Are Causing Stock Market To Collapse - Duration: 4:57.

There is a very good chance that Donald Trump is going to tweet us into a massive stock

market collapse, and the reason I say that is because that's actually the warning that

economists are currently giving us.

Now.

This is something I've actually brought up many times in the past and it's that the stock

market, in fact, the entire financial market here in the United States is incredibly fragile.

Any and everything that the president says has an effect on that market, not just policies

or executive orders that he signs or bills that he signed into laws.

His words and his just temperament in general will affect the market.

Now, I have spoken to friends of mine in the past who actually work in the market.

Not Fun people to talk to you most of the time, but nonetheless, they have told me that

they have to pay attention to what the president says.

Every state of the union, every press conference, they have to listen carefully to those words

and respond accordingly in the market.

That is telling you something that tells you so much about how fragile this market is,

and we've seen the results recently, right?

You know, Christmas Eve, huge stock market crash on that day, many crash, I guess you'd

call it the biggest losses ever reported on a Christmas Eve in the history of the stock

market.

Then day after Christmas, boom, back up a thousand points day after that it opened 400,

500 points down, another dip and the reason why we're seeing these wild swings and people

getting out of the market, doing whatever they can to stock buybacks, which are the

only things keeping the market afloat float right now.

The reason we see that is because of what the president does a right before the big

crash, Donald Trump is on Twitter criticizing the Federal Reserve that didn't go over well

rather than working with them as past presidents have.

He's working against them.

And so in order to assert their independence, according to economists, uh, no, a Smith,

they're raising rates and that hurts the market.

Past presidents have worked with him quietly, calmly, cooly, to get them to lower rates,

to help them market Trump.

Now he's got to do his bully ways.

He's got a threatened them on social media and it doesn't work out well for anyone and

I've seen a lot of people tweeting out recent, like good stock market crash.

Let the rich people take it on the chin.

They deserve it.

I agree, except for the fact that they're not the only ones who suffer when the stock

market crashes, and that is a sad reality of the United States.

Most of us, myself included, have nothing in the market, nothing, not a thing, and yet

a stock market crash will affect us eventually because what happens when rich people start

losing money, they start tightening those purse strings a little bit more.

Whether it's a CEO, you know, whether it's just a wealthy retiree, they're spending contracts,

you know, suddenly corporations may have to look at, well, our stocks are down, our profits

are down.

As a result of that, you know our dividends, so why don't we start cutting labor?

Why don't we start raising prices?

Do something to bring the money back in for us and that's when it starts affecting the

rest of us.

The rich are going to make up their losses somewhere else and those make up losses are

coming from the rest of us, so don't sit out there and think, good, rich people are losing

money.

Yeah, they're the ones losing money right this second.

They're going to make it up and we're going to be the ones paying the difference so that

they get their profits back up.

It will eventually affect us all.

It'll affect the housing market.

It'll affect the auto market.

It will affect everything.

The job market, there's nothing that won't be touched by this.

If the president continues tweeting us into a complete financial collapse and the problem

is there is nobody in that White House, probably nobody on this planet who could convince the

president to stop tweeting because it's going to end up hurting all of us.

He doesn't care and he doesn't even think it's a reality.

He thinks he can say whatever he wants without any kind of consequence, but at least in this

point, as we all go down, we understand that, hey, at least Trump's going down with us too,

because even he is not immune from a massive stock market crash and it'll be poetic justice

if he is the one who causes it.

Trump Golf Resort BUSTED Giving Fake Green Cards To Undocumented Workers - Duration: 3:29.

Donald Trump has made his entire political career about his hatred of immigrants into

the United States, illegal undocumented immigrants.

I'm behind the scenes, however, you will not find anyone who loves undocumented immigrants

more than Donald J.Trump.

I mean, forget the fact that that's where he seems to find his wives.

It's also where his golf resorts are finding their workers.

Recently, it was reported by the Washington Post, the New York Times, the New York Daily

News Salon, and countless other media outlets, and I bring that up to say how shocked I am

that this is not a massive story in the United States, but there is apparently right now

an FBI investigation going in are going on regarding Donald Trump's New Jersey golf resort

in Bedminster because lawyers have obtained copies and investigators and they've now turned

these over, have obtained copies of fake green cards and fake social security numbers that

were given to undocumented immigrants working at Trump's golf resorts by the management

of those golf resorts.

So employees of the Trump organization were falsifying greencard data, creating fake social

security numbers, giving them to undocumented immigrants according to the investigation.

So that these people would be able to work and they could pay in pennies to, and here's

the thing, one of the undocumented immigrants, the the woman who actually reached out to

a lawyer to expose all this, who risks deportation by coming forward.

She said she did it because she's sick and tired of Donald Trump's hypocrisy.

She's sick and tired of the constant attacks on immigrants.

When he and his organization actively go out there and recruit undocumented immigrants

to work at his organizations,

and now we find out that they may have been committing felonies this whole time in order

to get those undocumented immigrants in there.

The employee who came forward also said that the abuse suffered by these undocumented immigrants

at these Trump organizations is horrendous.

She saw one of her coworkers slammed against a wall.

A woman slammed against the wall by a man who threatened her saying, you can't even

do anything about it because you're undocumented.

We hold all the power.

We're the reason you're still here, and we can be the reason why you leave this country.

This to me seems like probably should be one of the biggest stories in the country right

now, right?

I mean, Trump shut down the government for more than two weeks saying we have to have

a wall to keep out undocumented immigrants, and yet here there is hard paper evidence

and documents showing that his own companies are falsifying federal data in order to hire

undocumented immigrants.

This is not surprising in the least.

The thing that surprises me about this story is why every single person in this country

isn't talking about it.

Right?

This second.

Trump Hands California Forests To Logging Industry, Increasing Risks Of Wildfires - Duration: 3:43.

On the Friday before Christmas, Donald Trump signed a little noticed executive order that

would actually hand over large portions of the state of California to the logging industry,

the executive order, which was a a titled here, promoting active management of America's

forests, range lands, and other federal lands to improve conditions and reduce wildfire

risk. A very short title, I guess would call upon the Department of the interior and the

Department of Agriculture to sell off California's forests to the logging industry because they

believe, or at least they want us to think that they believe this is going to somehow

reduce wildfires in the state of California. The truth is, it will do nothing to reduce

wildfires in the state of California because here's something that this administration

doesn't want to pay attention to, and that's the fact that most of the wildfires in California,

including the massively deadly ones that we just had this year.

Uh, those weren't forests. Those weren't hugely wooded areas that we're spreading the fire.

Those were basically bushlands where you have shrubs and you have small vegetation. They

dried out because of climate change and the droughts and the conditions that go along

with that caught on fire because of faulty equipment from PG&E and Edison Energy, and

then they spread. They spread rapidly. Why? Because they're burning through small growth

sticks and twigs and grasses that can catch on fire and spread miles within minutes, not

massive trees that take forever to dry out and burn and spread a fire, but not once in

this 1800 word executive order signed by the president. Did he mentioned climate change?

Did he mention anything at all that actually had to do with what caused the wildfires to

begin with? He didn't call out the industry's. He didn't say, we've got to address catastrophic

climate change.

All he said was there's too many damn trees would the interior department and the Department

of Agriculture place start selling these off to the logging industry so they can go out

there and make a profit because I swear to you, that's the only way to prevent forest

fires. It's an absolute lie, but what it is, it's kind of Ryan Zinke, ease parting gift.

You know he's leaving the administration, but he made it clear on day one that his goal

was to sell off as many public lands as possible and he's done a great job of that, selling

a lot of it to the fracking industry, to coal monitors, to the oil industry, and now as

the final parting gift that he's going to get, he gets to hand over huge swaths of California

to the logging industry because the president through this executive order is essentially

telling him he has to. This is not going to prevent wildfires. In fact, that is going

to make it worse according to the experts because once you take out those trees, once

you clear out that area, what's going to start popping up there? Either homes, which also

can spread fire very quickly or small growth shrubs, grasses. You know the things that

initially caused the deadly wildfires to begin with.

Thanks To Trump, Federal Workers Won't Get A Raise This Year - Duration: 3:27.

Shortly before the New Year began, Donald Trump signed an executive order that prohibits

any kind of pay raise for federal employees for the year 2019.

So for the remainder of this year, which just began a few days ago, federal workers know

that they will not be getting any kind of pay raise whatsoever.

The military is exempt from this.

They're still going to get there.

2.6% pay increase.

Donald Trump told them it was 10.

Uh, actually said that to their faces during his little troop visit recently, but it's

actually 2.6%.

They're going to get that they're going to be taken care of, but literally everyone else,

your not getting a raise this year even though you were scheduled to get a 2.1% pay increase

to keep pace with wages for the private sector.

And the reason the president's doing this, and he's actually been hinting at it since

last August, is because the federal government just doesn't have any money anymore.

We can't afford to give these hard workers anymore money because I had to give wealthy

people, including myself, a massive tax break.

That's what this is about.

We don't have money to take care of human beings, but God damn it, we're going to shut

down the government to get $5 billion for a wall.

That's not going to work a wall that most people in this country don't even want, but

there's not enough money for you to have a 2.1% pay increase.

Even though inflation is going up and the cost of everything in this country is going

up, your screwed average federal worker way to go.

Here's what this means for the US economy.

Anytime the working class gets less money, less money goes into the economy.

It's very basic economic stuff there, but it's something that Republicans aren't smart

enough to understand.

When you give the people who spend 100% of their paychecks more money, they're still

going to spend 100% of it that is going to increase economic activity in any particular

area of the country where it happens.

The converse of that is true as well.

You starve them of money.

You take money away from them while the cost of everything else goes up.

Suddenly these people can't buy as much.

They spend less in overall economic activity, continues to decline.

These are the types of small but meaningful actions that Republicans take that helped

to set off the triggers for a recession and that is exactly where we are headed.

This economy that we have is built out of Straw, sitting on top of a sand castle sitting

on top of quicksand and it is all about to come tumbling down and you want to exacerbate

that.

You want to make it happen even faster than you keep starving.

American workers have money, which is what this administration is doing.

That house of Straw may fall by the end of 2019, and if it does and when it does, it

is 100% going to be because of the policies of the US Republican Party.

DONALD TRUMP JUST BLEW THE LID OFF ONE OF THE BIGGEST SCANDALS IN AMERICAN HISTORY

Donald Trump vowed to be the Law and Order president.

And unlike his predecessor, he is putting American citizens first.

His policies are cracking down on criminals and violent gangs, which in turn is providing

a safer environment for U.S. citizens.

Now, because of his administration's tireless efforts, one vile thorn in our side is suffering

huge setbacks.

From Fox News:

"The ongoing state and Trump administration crackdown against MS-13 in one of their most

infamous strongholds has taken such a toll on the gang that they've only been linked

to a single murder in the area during 2018…

Trump, in a visit to Long Island last summer, vowed to 'liberate our towns' from MS-13's

grip, and he has a made a crackdown on the gang one of the focal points of his administration.

'We will find you, we will arrest you, we will jail you and we will deport you,' Trump

has said, garnering applause from an audience of law enforcement officials."

ICE has made Long Island a major priority; they remain an active presence in the region,

arresting many suspected MS-13 gang members.

However, while we celebrate the success, we have to ask: why did Long Island become such

a breeding ground for this scum?

One word: Democrats.

The bottom line is that liberal New York State leaders made it a safe haven for criminal

aliens.

Long Island is run by corrupt, liberal mayors who look the other way when illegals invade

the region, and THIS is the result.

Only President Trump and ICE are doing anything to keep these communities safe … despite

the liberal pushback.

But so much more needs to be done.

MS-13 continues to waltz into our country, unhindered, because of our open border.

These cartel members use our Southern border like a revolving door, and they keep using

it, over and over.

Only when the WALL is built will these criminals be kept out

for good!
