Trump news on Youtube Jan 26 2019

Thank you very much my fellow Americans.

I am very proud to announce today that we have reached a deal to end the shutdown and

reopen the federal government.

In a short while I will sign a bill to open our government for three weeks until February

15.

I have seen and heard from enough Democrats and Republicans that they are willing to put

partisanship aside.

They have said they are for complete border security and they have finally and fully acknowledged

that having barriers, fencing or walls, or whatever you want to call it, will be an important

part of the solution.

The walls we are building are not medieval walls.

They are smart walls designed to meet the needs of frontline border agents and are operationally

effective.

The requests we have put before Congress are vital to ending the humanitarian and security

crisis on our southern border.

So let me be very clear.

We really have no choice but to build a powerful wall or steel barrier.

If we don't get a fair deal from Congress, the government will either shut down on February

15, again, or I will use the powers afforded to me under the laws and the constitution

of the United States to address this emergency.

We will have great security.

And I want to thank you all very much.

Thank you very much.

Sarah Sanders Won't Say If Trump Was Behind Roger Stone's WikiLeaks Contact - News Today - Duration: 2:11.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Friday declined to say whether President Donald Trump directed a senior campaign official to instruct longtime confidant Roger Stone to contact WikiLeaks, after Stone was arrested early Friday.

"A senior Trump Campaign official was directed to contact Stone about any additional releases and what other damaging information Organization 1 had regarding the Clinton Campaign," the indictment from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation reads, referring to Stone's 2016 contact with WikiLeaks, which later leaked a trove of emails from the campaign of Trump's opponent Hillary Clinton.

Asked about the indictment and Stone's arrest on CNN, Sanders would not say whether Trump directed the official, who is likely Steve Bannon.

"I haven't read this document. I'm not an attorney. I'm not going to be able to get into the weeds on the specifics," she said, before claiming: "That has nothing to do with the president."

She repeatedly claimed Stone's arrest "has nothing to do with the president and certainly nothing to do with the White House. This is something that has to do solely with that individual, not something that affects us in this building."

Sanders also made a false equivalence, comparing Stone to Trump administration foes like Clinton, former FBI Director James Comey and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

"Will the same standard apply to people like Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Clapper?" Sanders asked of Stone's charges for making false statements.

Stone, an informal adviser to Trump, has admitted to contacting Russian intelligence officers and WikiLeaks during the 2016 campaign.

MASSIVE NEWS TRUMP JUST STUNNED ALL AMERICANS WITH THIS BIG ANNOUNCEMENT - Duration: 12:39.

MASSIVE NEWS TRUMP JUST STUNNED ALL AMERICANS WITH THIS BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

well one of the ideas suggested as they open it they pay a sort of a a prorated down payment

for the wall which I think people will agree that you need you need the

world in fact I see a lot of the Democrats are all almost all of them are

break in saying look wall so good it was a good big difference from what you had two

or three weeks ago and the vote we had the vote on our bill which we won fifty

to forty seven that was our bill but we got one Democrat it was fifty to

forty seven and we need as you know we have to get sixty we don't have sixty votes so

we need Democrat support we didn't get Democrat support other than from

actually wonderful man as you know senator Manchin and who's doing the

right thing for his people I mean he's doing the right thing for West Virginia frankly

and the other bill was fifty to forty four and that included a lot of hurricane

relief for a lot of different states so it's sort of not something

some of them really voted for the hurricane relief which they felt they needed that was

fifty to forty four but you need sixty so that didn't go anywhere

so we knew they both were not going to go anywhere

we thought and now Mitch is negotiating with Chuck Schumer and we'll see what happens I

think they just left a meeting

they just had a meeting I think they're going out to see their people but they just left

so we had two bills I think we did very well the Republicans held except

for two the Republicans held two were not there they couldn't well they

were unable to be there so there were two non votes but even with two non votes I think

there would have been good votes for us it's fifty two forty seven we

won but we need sixty votes because of the 60-vote rule and so I just really

want to thank the Republicans for holding again on the other one that was the opening

up that's fifty two forty four but you need 60 votes so it's a long

way sure and a lot of that a lot of those votes were based on the fact that

there was hurricane relief States I would be happy with it I wouldn't be happy but we

have a lot of

alternatives honestly we have everybody look for the most part people agree when I say

everybody I would say almost everybody agree we have to have border security

we have to have a wall in order to have border security you cannot have

border security without a wall and then we can play games and we can talk about technology

we can talk about drones flying around you know right now formed is

an 8,000 person Caravan and the caravan is heading our way

congratulations we have another one we stopped the first one we stopped the second one I

wouldn't say that Tijuana is too happy but they're happily living in

Tijuana right now and a lot of them

have gone back but we stopped them but it's very tough and if we didn't have a wall in

those areas it would have been very hard to stop them we have the military

and we have the Border Patrol they've done an incredible job and ice

has done an incredible job all over the country frankly we've removed thousands

of ms-13 and others out of our country but if we had a wall we wouldn't have that problem

it would be great so we

have a lot of alternatives but I'm just honored that almost all of the Republicans voted for

our bill our bill is the bill that we were really focused on

but we had almost all of the Republicans so the end result was 52-47

the Democrats lost one that came over to our side so they pretty much held and we held

and again we were missing two Republicans they couldn't vote they were

not here well I have to find out after this meeting we'll find out but right now mitch

mcconnell's meeting with chuck

schumer and see if they'll have to see what happens their meeting to see if they could

work out something maybe on a temporary basis will we start but I have you

know we have a lot of alternatives there are a lot of people that want this

to happen I'll tell you who wants thisto happen the military wants this to happen because

this is a virtual invasion of our country of drugs of human

traffickers of so many different things of criminals it's an invasion of

our country and the military wants this to happen and the Border Patrol wants this to

happen and by the way border patrol said all of the drones flying upin

the air having a lot of fun flying drones all over the place they don't

mean a thing when they look down and they see thousands of people rushing on border

the only thing that works is a strong barrier a wall I have not I haven't

spoken to Nancy Pelosi never know but I'm here you know I haven't

left except for a beautiful evening in Iraq I've been here for I've been here for a long

time no I haven't I haven't heard the statement but I do understand and

perhaps you should have said it differently local people know who they

are when they forego for groceries and everything else and I think what Wilbur is probably trying

to say is that they

will work along I know banks are working along them if you have mortgages the mortgages the

mortgage the folks collecting the interest and all of those things

they work alone and that's what happens in time like this they know the

people they've been dealing with them for years and they work along the grocery store

and I think that's probably what Wilbur Ross meant but I haven't

seen a statement no but he's done a great job I will tell you that

yes

well we're looking at that as well it's a very sad situation that was the richest state

in all of that area that's a big beautiful area and by far the richest

and now it's one of the poorest places in the world

that's what socialism gets you when they want to raise your taxes to 70 percent you know

it's interesting I've been watching our opponents our future opponents

talking about seventy percent number one they can't do it for 70

percent it's got to be probably twice that number but maybe more importantly

Michael Cohen spokesman Davis wants Trump censured for witness tampering - Duration: 4:22.

Michael Cohen spokesman Davis wants Trump censured for witness tampering

Michael Cohens legal advisor on Thursday called for President Donald Trump to be censured by Congress for "witness tampering" one day after Trumps ex lawyer .

Cohen advisor Lanny Davis also asked for a criminal probe of Trumps current personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, for similar alleged threatening remarks. He said comments by Trump and Giuliani have left Cohen in fear for the safety of his family.

"Today I am calling for an immediate House resolution against Trump for congressional witness tampering and obstruction due horrible multiple threats to Michaels family, and an immediate criminal investigation and possible indictment of Giuliani for the same conduct, since he does not have likely presidential immunity," Davis said in a statement to CNBC.

Davis first made his requests public earlier Thursday on ABCs "Good Morning America."

"Lets call this what it is, a petty partisan move from a partisan attorney to his fellow partisans in the House of Representatives — and the American people see right through it," Hogan Gidley, White House deputy press secretary, told CNBC.

Also Thursday, Trump in a tweet blasted his former attorney and longtime fixer Cohen as a "bad lawyer."

The president also referenced Davis in the tweet, calling him "the lawyer for Crooked Hillary Clinton." Davis is a long time friend and advisor to former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whom Trump defeated in the 2016 presidential election.

Cohen, 52, had been scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee on Feb. 7, a month before he begins serving a three year prison terms of multiple crimes.

Those felonies included ones related to hush money payments that Cohen facilitated to two women, porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal, shortly before the 2016 presidential election to keep them quiet about alleged affairs with Trump. The president has denied having sex with either woman.

Cohen also admitted to the crime of lying to Congress by making misleading statements about the duration of an aborted effort to build a Trump Tower in Moscow, and about the extent of Trumps involvement in the project.

Cohen, who has been cooperating with special counsel Robert Muellers probe of Trump and possible coordination by members of Trumps campaign with Russian interference in the 2016 election, was expected to talk at length about the president during his planned congressional appearance.

Davis announced Wednesday that Cohen was indefinitely postponing that appearance, citing "ongoing threats against his family from President Trump and Mr. Giuliani."

On Thursday morning, to testify at a hearing reportedly set for Feb. 12.

Trump repeatedly has made public mention of Cohens father in law, Fima Shusterman,

Giuliani, in an appearance Sunday on CNN, claimed Cohen had lied lying about Trump, suggested that Shusterman had organized crime connections, and alleged that Shusterman was involved in criminal activity with Cohen.

Despite those claims by Giuliani, a former New York mayor and federal prosecutor, Shusterman and Cohen have not been charged with any crimes related to each other, and Shusterman has not be charged with any organized crime activity.

Trump on Wednesday was dismissive of Davis claims that he had threatened Cohen.

"I would say hes been threatened by the truth," Trump said. "He has other clients also, I assume, and he doesnt want to tell the truth for me or other of his clients."

The president has denied any wrongdoing by himself or by his campaign. He has repeatedly claimed there was "no collusion" with Russia to help get him elected.

Trump and Giuliani had made complimentary comments about Cohen on the heels of an April 2018 raid by the FBI on Cohens office and residences in New York. But their tone changed after Cohen appeared to break with the president, a move that was underscored by his retention of the Clinton confidante Davis, a harsh critic of Trump.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings, D Md., and Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D Calif., said Wednesday that Cohens concern for the safety of his family was "legitimate," but added that they expected him to testify before their committees at some point.

Cummings and Schiff also blasted Trumps comments.

"As we stated previously with our colleague, Chairman Jerry Nadler of the Judiciary Committee, efforts to intimidate witnesses, scare their family members, or prevent them from testifying before Congress are textbook mob tactics that we condemn in the strongest terms," Cummings and Schiff said in a joint statement.

"Our nations laws prohibit efforts to discourage, intimidate, or otherwise pressure a witness not to provide testimony to Congress. The President should make no statement or take any action to obstruct Congress independent oversight and investigative efforts, including by seeking to discourage any witness from testifying in response to a duly authorized request from Congress."
