Trump slams bombshell report that claimed he told Cohen to LIE to Congress

The office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller has called the bombshell BuzzFeed report claiming President Donald Trump told his former lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress false, and Trump has also fired back.

'Remember it was Buzzfeed that released the totally discredited "Dossier," paid for by Crooked Hillary Clinton and the Democrats (as opposition research), on which the entire Russian probe is based!' he posted late Friday night.

'A very sad day for journalism, but a great day for our Country!'. He then followed that up by tweeting: 'Fake News is truly the ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!'.

The President's response comes after the special counsel's office issued a rare public statement disputing the accuracy of the news report saying that Trump told his personal attorney Cohen to lie to Congress.

The special counsel's spokesman Peter Carr says: 'BuzzFeed's description of specific statements to the Special Counsel's Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen's Congressional testimony are not accurate'.

Meanwhile Ben Smith, editor-in-chief at BuzzFeed, tweeted: 'In response to the statement tonight from the Special Counsel's spokesman: We stand by our reporting and the sources who informed it, and we urge the Special Counsel to make clear what he's disputing.

Making his way around to CNN's Anderson Cooper, Smith further requested clarification from the special counsel's office and defended his reporters, Jason Leopold and Anthony Cormier.

'We're really confident in these specific sources and in the stories these reporters told,' Smith said after referencing two unidentified law enforcement officials from the original story that reported Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress about the Moscow real estate project.

Smith also called into MSNBC to speak with Chris Hayes saying 'the special counsel issued this very vague statement, we are eager to know what he's talking about'. The statement by Robert Mueller's office on Friday night doesn't cite any specific errors.

Trump had earlier Friday evening spent several hours retweeting several supporters. Shortly after the statement from Mueller's office was released Trump retweeted: 'Sadly so many will never get the memo that it was fake!'.

Buzzfeed's bombshell report claimed the president directed Cohen to lie in his testimony to Congress about a Trump Organization tower deal in Moscow that continued through the summer of 2016.

The president also retweeted the Newsmax host John Cardillo saying: 'I told you all that the BuzzFeed story was nonsense. Then he also drew attention to podcaster Dan Bongino's commentary, 'We called it. FAKE NEWS! "More Buzzfeed B.S."'.

He goes on to retweet Sebastian Gorka posting a photo of Trump's inauguration, and podcaster Bongino asserting Trump's job approval among Latinos is up during the government shutdown.

Earlier, New Yorker reporter Ronan Farrow had tweeted his own misgivings about the BuzzFeed story, writing: 'I can't speak to Buzzfeed's sourcing, but, for what it's worth, I declined to run with parts of the narrative they conveyed based on a source central to the story repeatedly disputing the idea that Trump directly issued orders of that kind.

CNN also written previously that the former Los Angeles Times, Dow Jones, and Vice News reporter Leopold had a 'checkered past' when it came to accuracy of his reports during the George W. Bush administration, prior to the Mueller office statement.

Leopold's investigative partner, Anthony Cormier, however, was a member of a Pulitzer Prize-winning team in 2016 at the Tampa Bay Times prior to joining BuzzFeed. He collaborated on an investigative series into the neglected mental health system in Florida.

He joined BuzzFeed's investigative unit shortly afterwards. The president's son, Donald Trump Jr.

, meanwhile, has been gleefully firing off tweets about the news outlet retweeting the Mueller office rebuttal with nothing but a series of 'crying laughing' emojis, and retweeting another post that had made the statement that either Trump is finished or BuzzFeed is with the comment 'You were saying??'.

Since the statement put out by Mueller's office, the President's eldest son Donald Trump Jr has been tweeting and retweeting rapidly taking shots at BuzzFeed and other media outlets reporting around the story including The Daily Beast and CNN.

Buzzfeed's report, if true, would constitute subornation of perjury – a felony crime. Obstruction of justice was the first order of impeachment against President Richard Nixon.

Trump blasted his former lawyer and fixer Cohen on Friday as a liar who was 'trying to reduce his jail time' when he reportedly told Mueller that a scheme to build a Trump Tower project in Moscow extended through the 2016 Republican National Convention and into the months before Trump became president-elect.

Earlier Friday Cohen returned to his Manhattan apartment Friday after getting medical treatment – with his arm appearing to be in a sling. Cohen advisor Lanny Davis said Cohen had gone into the hospital for pre-scheduled shoulder surgery.

Cohen could be seen with his left arm covered, hanging in a sling. He was holding a full-size white pillow against his body. His right hand had a small bandage of the kind used to cover a small wound by an IV.

He also wore a red identification bracelet of the kind distributed by hospitals.

Kim and Trump to meet for a second summit near end of Feb. - Duration: 2:30.

Our top story this evening.

A second summit between North Korea and the United States will take place in February.

Following negotiations between Pyeongyang and Washington, the White House officially

announced on Friday... that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. president Donald Trump

will meet for the second time late next month.

The location however, has yet to be announced.

Park Hee-jun reports.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump,... will meet "near the end of

February," according to the White House on Friday.

But the venue has not been announced,... and is set to be revealed later.

The news came after a 90-minute meeting between the North's top negotiator Kim Yong-chol and

President Trump at the White House.

He earlier met Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. Special Representative for North

Korea, Stephen Biegun.

They discussed efforts to implement the promises made during the two countries' first bilateral

summit in Singapore.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders described the meeting as "productive," but

added that sanctions will remain in place until North Korea's FFVD.

"The United States is going to continue to keep pressure and sanctions on North Korea

until we see fully and verifiable denuclearization.

We've had very good steps in good faith from the North Koreans in releasing the hostages

and other moves and so we're going to continue those conversations.

The President looks forward to next his next meeting."

The spotlight is now on the follow-up negotiations.

North Korea's Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui and Stephen Biegun are expected to meet this

weekend in Stockholm,... for the first time since Biegun took his post in August.

With Pyeongyang and Washington having made the summit official,... the logistics for

the meeting is likely to be sorted out by Choe and Biegun.

According to Seoul's foreign ministry,...

South Korea's nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon is also in the Swedish capital.

Two-way or three-way discussions could get underway,... which are likely to focus on

the agendas for the upcoming summit.

The latest announcement breaks the months-long deadlock between North Korea and the United

States.

But there's an unfamiliar silence-- no contact with the press nor tweets by Trump.

He's been quiet about the letters he received from Kim,... and regarding any recent developments

concerning North Korea.

The extra discretion could mean there's still a long way ahead... before the two sides can

find a compromise on the North's denuclearization.

It's also being viewed as a power play to maintain Washington's upperhand in the February

summit.

Stalled shutdown talks leave Trump feeling cold CNNPolitics

The President is again sequestered in a White House understaffed by a government shutdown and surrounded by patches of week old snow. Attempts to cajole Democrats into supporting more than dollar 5 billion in border wall funding have devolved into partisan squabbles with little bearing on the matter at hand. The friendliest envoy at the White House this week seemed to be an ex North Korean spy chief, who arrived bearing another upbeat letter from Pyongyang.

That Trump has found a than in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi speaks both to his determination in developing "chemistry" with global strongmen and the dire state of Washingtons political discourse. Even Trumps allies in Congress have deemed the broken state of affairs "sophomoric" and "childish."

Kims letter, delivered midday, was a more welcome piece of mail than Pelosis missive earlier in the week urging the President to delay his annual State of the Union address or deliver it in writing instead. In retaliation, the President told Pelosi he was denying her a military plane for a trip to Afghanistan so she could remain in the capital to negotiate. He said she could travel commercially instead.

Heading into the weekend, there were no meetings scheduled between the President and Pelosi, whose bitter back and forth resulted on Friday morning in the by leaking commercial flight itineraries to Afghanistan a White House official denied it .

With no public events on his schedule, the President made a few sputtering attempts to drive his message on Twitter, beginning by quoting a report from a conservative newspaper saying prayer rugs had been found near the southern border.

"People coming across the Southern Border from many countries, some of which would be a big surprise," Trump mused, implying the discarded rugs belonged to undocumented Muslim immigrants. He did not explain why or how an immigrant whod traveled from the Middle East to the US Mexico frontier might abandon their prayer rug after such a journey.

Later, apparently that hed directed his former fixer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress, Trump made a cryptic allusion to wrongdoing by a member of Cohens family: "Watch father in law!" he wrote, without explanation.

By mid morning, the Presidents messages had become tighter, warning of "another big Caravan heading our day" before finally unleashing some standalone slogans.

"MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" he wrote, followed a minute later by "AMERICA FIRST!"

Without any new offers that might reopen the government, and apparently only tag lines as incentive, it appeared the partial government shutdown thats left 800,000 federal workers without pay would stretch more than a month.

It takes two ...

Trumps aides are eager to portray the President as tapping his toe, awaiting Democrats to return to the White House for talks.

"The Presidents been here before Christmas, during Christmas, during New Years, waiting for Democrats to come and negotiate," spokesman Hogan Gidley said in an appearance on Fox News.

"Nancy Pelosi needs to come back to the White House or send others here who are actually willing to converse," counselor Kellyanne Conway repeated during a segment on Fox Business Network.

Still, no invitations have yet gone out. And many lawmakers have already left Washington to return to their home states for the weekend.

Trump has expressed confusion at why his attempts to pressure Democrats for border wall funding have yielded no progress and failed to change public opinion. He has repeatedly pointed out that hes at the White House presumably as opposed to his Florida estate yet polls still show a majority of Americans blame him for the impasse.

The President was originally due to travel next week to Switzerland, where the global elite are convening for the Davos economic summit. But he canceled his trip last week. And on Thursday he announced no administration officials would travel to the Swiss Alps for the gathering, leaving the glittery forum without any official visitors from a deadlocked Washington.

Meanwhile, some of Trumps advisers worry the mounting consequences for unpaid federal workers could further erode support for Trumps cause. White House aides dread, for example, a meltdown at US airports that could spur further public anger at the deadlocked talks.

Inside the West Wing, discussions are still underway about the fate of the State of the Union address, originally scheduled for January 29 but now in question after Pelosis letter. The speech once was viewed as a potential turning point for the Presidents argument for a border wall. One White House official said the administration had begun putting together a list of potential invited guests in the first ladys box, including some "angel families" of people killed by undocumented immigrants.

Now, however, there is talk of alternative set ups: a rally style speech, perhaps, or a direct to camera address from the White House. Nothing has been decided, officials said, as the White House weighs its options.

Trump, meanwhile, will have all weekend to mull it over. Even as he grounded Pelosi and his Cabinet from using military planes to travel abroad, . She landed in West Palm Beach in the early evening, her Air Force C 32 touching down just as the sun was setting. The temperature: a balmy 70 degrees.

Gov. Polis: Trump Can't Win Colorado in 2020 - Duration: 4:57.

SOLEDAD: I'M SOLEDAD O'BRIEN.

WELCOME TO "MATTER OF FACT." THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS IN

NOVEMBER DIDN'T JUST USHER IN THE MOST DIVERSE CONGRESS IN HISTORY BUT ALSO CHANGED THE ELECTORAL MAP AHEAD OF THE NEXT PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.

STATES THAT WERE ONCE SOLIDLY REPUBLICAN, LIKE GEORGIA AND ARIZONA, COULD BE IN PLAY FOR THE DEMOCRATS.

WHILE TRADITIONAL SWING STATES LIKE OHIO AND IOWA HAVE MOVED FROM PURPLE TO RED.

ANOTHER STATE THAT HAS SEEN A POLITICAL SHIFT IS COLORADO, WHERE REPUBLICANS SUFFERED THEIR BIGGEST DEFEAT IN MODERN STATE HISTORY.

DEMOCRATS NOW CONTROL BOTH THE STATE HOUSE AND SENATE, AND MOST MAJOR STATE OFFICES, INCLUDING GOVERNOR, ATTORNEY GENERAL, AND SECRETARY OF STATE.

THE G.O.P.'S WIDESPREAD DEFEAT IN COLORADO LED CONSERVATIVE COLUMNIST GEORGE WILL TO WARN IT'S A GLIMPSE OF THE NATION'S FUTURE.

COLORADO'S NEWLY ELECTED GOVERNOR, DEMOCRAT JARED POLIS, JOINS US FROM DENVER.

SO NICE SO SEE YOU, GOVERNMENT THANKS FOR TALKING WITH ME.

GOVERNOR POLIS: A PLEASURE TO BE WITH YOU, SOLEDAD.

SO LET'S TALK FIRST ABOUT COLORADO BEING PART OF THE NATIONAL PICTURE.

DEMOCRATS NOW OUTNUMBER REPUBLICANS.

THAT'S LIKE THE FIRST TIME IN 20 YEARS THAT THAT'S HAPPENED, AND IT'S A HUGE SWING FOR A PLACE THAT REALLY USED TO BE A VERY RELIABLE REPUBLICAN SO WHAT'S HAPPENED THAT HAS

REALLY SHIFTED COLORADO?

GOV. POLIS: WELL, COLORADO IS A REAL SWING STATE.

YOU HAVE NEARLY EVEN NUMBERS OF REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS LAST ELECTION IS THE VOTERS GAVE THE DEMOCRATS A CHANCE TO GOVERN BUT THAT'S ONLY AS GOOD AS WE PRODUCE FOR THEM.

SO IT'S ONLY AS GOOD AS GIVING US A CHANCE.

SOLEDAD: WHAT DOES IT MEAN THEN FOR 2020 IF THEY'RE JUST GIVING YOU A CHANCE.

THAT MAYBE IT MEANS NOTHING?

GOV. POLIS: WELL, I THINK IT MEANS IF THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE IS DONALD TRUMP, HE'LL HAVE A LOT OF TROUBLE WINNING OVER THE SWING VOTERS OF COLORADO WITH HIS DIVISIVE BRAND

OF RHETORIC AND THE WAY HE HAS A SLASH AND BURN POLITICS AND POOR MANAGEMENT STYLE.

COLORADO VOTERS ARE SOPHISTICATED.

THEY'RE EDUCATED, THEY'RE SAVVY, AND THEY DON'T FALL FOR THE TRICKS AND PROPAGANDA OF SOLEDAD: WHEN GEORGE WILL, WHO I JUST QUOTED A MOMENT AGO, I WAS -- WAS TALKING ABOUT COLORADO,

HE WAS REFERRING TO SORT OF THE CHANGES WITHIN THE STATE AND THE VOTING POPULACE THAT THE GROWING NUMBER OF LATINO VOTERS, THE EDUCATION LEVELS OF COLORADO VOTERS ARE THOSE ALSO THINGS

THAT YOU THINK BENEFIT THE DEMOCRATS?

GOV. POLIS: ABSOLUTELY.

AGAIN, WE HAVE A HIGHLY EDUCATED ELECTORATE, WE HAVE A GROWING PERCENTAGE OF LATINO ELECTORATE.

AND AGAIN, IT'S A STATE THAT HAS RELATIVELY EVEN NUMBERS OF DEMOCRATS OR REPUBLICANS, ALMOST IDENTICAL.

SO IT'S ALWAYS THOSE UNAFFILIATED VOTERS WHICH ARE THE SINGLE BIGGEST GROUP IN OUR STATE.

THERE'S MORE OF THEM THAN THERE ARE DEMOCRATS OR REPUBLICANS THAT REALLY GET TO DECIDE WHICH WAY WE GO AND IN THIS LAST ELECTION IN 2018, THEY DECIDED TO GIVE DEMOCRATS A

CHANCE.

IT'S REALLY UP TO THE DEMOCRATS TO PRODUCE, TO IMPROVE OUR QUALITY OF LIFE.

AND WE'LL SEE WHAT WE CAN DO AND MAKE THE CASE THAT WE DESERVE ANOTHER CHANCES IN 2020.

SOLEDAD: I'VE ROAD A LOT ABOUT WHEN YOU WERE FIRST ELECTED, HOW YOU WERE AN OPENLY GAY GOVERNOR.

AND I WAS JUST WONDERING.

YOU MEAN, JIM MCGREEVEY, OF COURSE, IN NEW JERSEY WAS AS WELL, SORT OF SERVED OUT THE REST OF HIS TERM OPENLY GAY.

IS THIS A MILESTONE NOW, IS IT JUST A TALKING POINT IN THE PRESS?

HOW DO YOU VIEW IT?

GOV. POLIS: WELL, IT REALLY IS NOT ON THE MINDS OF MOST COLORADANS.

YOU KNOW, AGAIN, COLORADANS REALLY VALUE WHAT YOU DO AND YOUR CHARACTER.

IT HONESTLY HAS COME UP A LOT MORE IN THE NATIONAL MEDIA THAN IT HAS HERE IN OUR STATE.

PLANS TO SAVE PEOPLE MONEY ON HEALTH CARE.

OUR TRANSITION PLAN TO RENEWABLE ENERGY, WHICH WE HAVE A GOAL OF 100% RENEWABLE ENERGY BY 2040.

WE HAVE A PLAN TO REDUCE TAX LOOPHOLES AND THEN USE THAT MONEY TO REDUCE THE INCOME TAX RATE FOR ALL COLORADO RESIDENTS AND SMALL BUSINESSES.

SO THERE'S A LOT OF WORK TO DO.

AND THAT'S REALLY BEEN THE FOCUS OF ALL OF THE LOCAL DISCUSSIONS.

SOLEDAD: TALK TO ME ABOUT 2020.

DEMOCRATS HAVE NOW STARTED THROWING THEIR HAT INTO THE RING AND GETTING SOME PUBLICITY FOR IT.

WHO DO YOU THINK -- WHO DO YOU LIKE?

WHO DO YOU THINK SHOULD STEP IN AND WHO SHOULD NOT GOVERNOR POLIS: YOU KNOW, SOLEDAD, IT'S SUCH A BIG LIST.

YOU KNOW, I FOCUS ON OUR TO-DO LIST AND GETTING THINGS DONE IN COLORADO.

SOLEDAD: OH, THAT'S SUCH A POLITICAL DODGE.

FOR 28 MINUTES AND YOU'RE YOU'VE BEEN GOVERNOR HERE.

HOW ARE YOU DOING THE GOVERNOR DODGE?

COME ON, YOU MUST HAVE, OF ALL THE DEMOCRATS YOU KNOW WHO ARE GOING TO JUMP IN, AND THAT'S -- IT'S GOING TO BE A LIST OF ABOUT 20.

THERE IS ONLY GOING TO BE A HANDFUL WHO COULD BEAT DONALD TRUMP.

IN 2020.

WHO DO YOU THINK THE TOP FOUR ARE?

GOVERNOR POLIS: YOU KNOW, WHAT I EXPECT THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY VOTERS WILL LOOK FOR.

SERMON WHAT I WOULD LOOK FOR IS WHO'S GOING TO BE THE BEST CANDIDATE TO WIN THE PRESIDENCY.

BUT REALLY, ELECTABILITY IS GOING TO BE FIRST AND FOREMO

Pentagon Officials Freaked Out That Trump Admin Wants To Attack Iran - Duration: 3:33.

Earlier this week, it was reported that John Bolton, Donald Trump's national security advisor,

had repeatedly been pressing the Pentagon to come up with plans that he could present

to the president, uh, so they could figure out how best to go and attack Iran.

Well, yesterday, CNN reported after talking to sources inside the Department of Defense

that the Pentagon, dod officials are actually starting to get unnerved about the fact that

John Bolton and the National Security Council and the Trump admin itself, uh, that they

seem hellbent on wanting to attack Iran.

The Pentagon officials, you know, these guys, they love a good war, but even they are willing

to say we don't really have a reason to go over and attack Iran.

There's really not anything there that would warrant us putting boots on the ground or

planes in the air or dropping bombs on them.

So we're not exactly sure why they want this so badly.

Nonetheless, the Pentagon has put forward plans, uh, on various different ways to attack

the country if the administration feels the need to do that.

However, it is not clear at this point whether or not they have actually turned those over

to John Bolton.

I do not believe based on the evidence we've seen that they have turned those over to Bolton

because if they had, we would currently be bombing the hell out of the country because

that's what John Bolton is.

That's what all of us thought would happen.

As soon as John Bolton became the national security advisor and we found out this week

that yes, that is exactly what he is attempting to do, but here's another possible scenario

here at CNN.

Didn't mention this.

We could be looking at a potential wag the dog situation where Donald Trump sees the

walls closing in around him.

He sees the public turning on him.

His poll numbers are getting worse and worse by the week, but what better way to bolster

support for a sitting president then to launch a war?

It's what happens.

Unfortunately, whenever a war breaks out, whenever we have to go over and bomb another

country, it creates unease with the American public and they're looking for somebody to

comfort them and tell them that everything is going to be okay and that is typically

what a president does.

It's what George W dot Bush does.

George W. Bush would not have won reelection had he not started wars in the Middle East.

I mean even before the nine slash 11 attacks, his approval rating was in the toilet and

then shot way up after that happened because he emerged as the guy that's going to heal

the country, you know, come put your head on my shoulder where everything's going to

be fine.

I'm going to take care of you.

Trust me.

And people did unfortunately.

And then he went ahead and lied about the intelligence and attacked Iraq.

And because of that, people got scared.

They thought that Saddam Hussein was somehow the big bad guy that we needed to take out

and they voted for him again in 2004.

Trump's hoping the same situation can save him here except the differences.

At least George W. Bush had the Pentagon and other intelligence agencies willing to phony

up data to paint Saddam Hussein as some kind of global threat.

And now the Pentagon, at least at the moment on this one particular issue, has enough good

sense to say we don't have any reason whatsoever to go over there and attack Iran.

After CANCELLING Her Flight Trump Delivers ONE LAST Surprise To Pelosi's Office

it's very irresponsible on the part of the present we'll go again we'll go

another time this would have been my ninth retaliation I don't think the

president would be that petty to you when Speaker Nancy Pelosi canceled

President Donald Trump State of the Union address he responded by grounding

her taxpayer-funded luxury flight overseas however Pelosi soon discovered

that if she hits Trump will hit back even harder once he had a special gift

delivered to her office just hours after ordering her overseas excursion canceled

President Trump added insult to injury by having Pelosi luggage loaded onto a

military liaison cart and had it wheeled down the halls of Congress and

humiliatingly parked outside of her office for her to collect a photo of the

carelessly piled luggage with a sign marked Codel Pelosi was snapped by a

tipster for the Washington free beacon similar to Trump's strategic grounding

of Pelosi's flight just one hour before takeoff leaving the confused Congress

will installed honor the United States Air Force bus the president had her

baggage redirected to her office in case she wished to check it in with a

commercial airline it's unclear if all of the bags were Pelosi or if the card

also included luggage belonging to her staffers however the message was

unmistakable leaving the speaker in an embarrassing position Pelosi is probably

waking up to the fact that if you hit Trump you'd better knock him out because

he'll come back swinging twice as hard it's possible she realized that she made

a mistake by pushing to cancel the SOT you addressed one Trump responded by

postponing her flight for the same reason she gave Pelosi and her

Democratic cohorts are starting to realize that Trump not only means

business but that he isn't intimidated by their underhanded and puerile tactics

in fact one of the reasons he was elected president is because he has no

problem getting down in the mud and fighting just as dirty as the leftist

opposition if Pelosi wants to use the government shutdown for her own

political gain she'll soon realized that this

Trump's game and he has the advantage when it comes to playing hardball

president Trump continuing to counterpunch Nancy Pelosi with a new

Twitter taunt as the shut down fight gets personal after grounding her

military aircraft yesterday the president slamming the House Speaker for

planning to go on an overseas trip during the government shutdown and

Pelosi's office is responding by accusing the White House of leaking

information about plans to fly commercial claiming it created a

security risk that caused the trip to be stopped the White House is pushing back

though calling the charge quote asinine and a flat-out lie

here's Pelosi earlier it's very irresponsible on the part of the

president we'll go again we'll go another time this would have been my

ninth trip I don't think the president would be that petty to you Sarah Sanders

firing back at Pelosi over the allegations saying it's outrageous to

claim the president would put lives in jeopardy meanwhile it's a tale of two

shutdown stunts for the media watches Pelosi gets praised for trying to delay

the State of the Union while Trump gets trashed for accessing her foreign trip

this is a case study and media bias data example it is a pretty good example and

when he was quiet for the day remember and she got all that press for a whole

day and the timing of the letter that your trip has canceled coming in a half

an hour before their to leave while they're on the bus that was gold

perfectly gold and so in I mean if you remember I did my sister test right and

she was like oh both of them Trump Pelosi tired of it that might be

how a lot of people feel but the media can't can't do that I mean come on and

then also when Pelosi says I don't think he would be that petty it's like the

South when you say bless their heart like that bless your heart Greg yeah I

think it could have been truck it could have been worse I mean Trump canceling

the trip is nice imagine if he allowed them to get on the

plane and then he waited until they were in the air and then rerouted it so it

flew in circles around the US for like 11 hours I don't know how long rubber

but imagine if he let him fly the air for 11 hours right and then he

goes okay let him land in DC and then they come back they land in DC they're

all tired the ambiens wearing off they're getting that a few drinks they

get out and like the dance is like wow I didn't know Brussels had a white house

this is amazing so I think that he actually did them a favor Jim Acosta

calling any one child like he's these you know he's basically the spokesperson

for Gerber baby food I think the whole idea of calling each other childish

doesn't work anymore it doesn't work anyway because everybody everybody is a

child now we're a lab we live in it we live in a time where it's tit-for-tat so

that's okay there's a really positive thing that's gonna happen I've said it

yesterday Nancy handed him the golden key get out

of the State of the Union it's boring think of it as State of the Union

unplugged go back to its roots acoustic acoustic an acoustic state of the union

the people save of the years send a letter then you have a rally everybody

wins and we stay here in New York we don't have to take the train and sit on

the Acela and listen to that bubble of booze wah I don't even know what I said

it's all about travel anxiety I don't want to go anywhere this is Newt

Gingrich talking about picking a fight with the president and then you can

react I don't know anybody who is more predictable at counterpunching you hit

Donald Trump he picks up a large log slams you across the head and says see

you made me irritated I mean she handed him a huge softball and said please

knock it out of the park I guarantee you he's gonna spend part of every day from

here on out finding a way to cause her pain so the president's plotting in the

Oval Office how else can I cause Pelosi pain I think this delights you by the

look on your face but I think he's causing himself a great deal of pain I

mean I was just looking at the polls today and it's it's pretty clear all the

polls indicate that majorities blame the president for what's going on and people

don't like the idea of shut down don't think it's a good idea to shut down the

government as a leverage point over building the wall that we know Mexico

was going to pay for and you know to me they think you know we should get a deal

we should be able to reach a deal so you know to Dana's sister's point it'd be

nice that people sat down and really thought about this

and really were able to negotiate do you think let me know but for here you have

a situation where you had Republicans and Democrats make a deal McConnell said

here's a deal it was the president who shut down the government so now you had

vice president Pence Jared Kushner meeting with Mitch McConnell they're

trying to figure out some way to help the president save face because that's

all this is about and when he does something and and and I think that

Pelosi was very clear and I think the State Department

you know when they had to say you know you can't go it's very clear he did talk

about the commercial itinerary in a way that would have endangered her life in

the life of everyone on there but guess what in the conservative media bubble

you get the kind of playground tit-for-tat oh it Adam Schiff was on

remember Adam Schiff the one that the president misspells his name with the

t's it's unbelievable that we are at this juvenile level but I think the

American people from the polls say enough of this playground behavior it's

not good it's not good governance and it's not who we are

well to that one gets a fancy started it how's that dr. Nicole safar wanna says

right now the polls indicate that everybody blames the president for the

shutdown if the president were to cut a deal get the wall and reopen the

government would the American people give him credit for ending the shutdown

and his base would be very ecstatic about the wall Fonda yes well of course

his base would be very happy but I'm sure that the other side who never

supports him would come up with something else and he would not get

credit there's an upside for the president here right I do agree I think

that they really need to hone in you know he is he has compromised he's

compromised on the cost of the border wall he's gone from 21 billion down to

5.7 he's compromised on daca I mean these are things that happen with this

campaign you know he's doing what he said in this campaign he lowered

corporate tax he bombed Isis he's bringing the troops home this he has to

do the wall he has to do something here if he forgoes the wall he's gonna lose

his base and the Republicans are really gonna suffer from this now this tit for

tat and it really is nanny nanny booboo but it's on both sides and it just is I

mean Pelosi is in Hawaii she comes back and she says she's gonna pull the reins

on the so to which okay and then he cancels her trip I mean it

is a back and forth I want to see them back in the white house get some of

their cronies getting the Oval Office lock themselves in and hash out a deal

like there's no ok let's just shake hands and let's move on with the day no

you stay in that office until you figured it out because you have 800,000

people not getting paid and when you're praising the unemployment rate how it

keeps going down but now all of a sudden we have employed individuals not getting

paid they're needing go fund me accounts they're having to file for unemployment

this isn't right I just want to point out that you just said this is all about

the president's wanting to make a political point it's not about elected

saying he was doing oh you're wrong he got elected saying Mexico would pay for

this walk no we're not near that and so you have him this is important you have

now Gary Khan the president's economic advisors frictional reserve bank chair

here in New York saying what's going on right now is slowing us economic growth

the president let's mrs. Trump fly last night you won't let Pelosi fly it would

be interesting to see an actual specific plan by the Democrats that because now

we have them on record saying that they're for enhanced border security

they actually say it now even though their leaders said it was immoral

remember it walls were immoral and now you have them backtrack you can say but

wait a minutes more so what I would like to I would be really neat to see a plan

a plan that actually shows a border without a wall I would like to see that

because the thing is if you want to deal you're gonna have to create money for

enhanced border right that's what be so the Democrats have to come up with a

specific deal right with this money that doesn't have any wall I would like to

see that well you think that's possible I would like to know want you believe

that you can do it without a wall then you should you should write it down

right now I want to you try it out I want to see this no

hard was making possible for going through than steps you know the added

funding in terms of security personnel the drone like no walls or favorite

radio hosts Howard Stern said doesn't work would you hear that from you only

when he wants to hear what he wants thank you god bless you and God bless

america
