Trump slams bombshell report that claimed he told Cohen to LIE to Congress

The office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller has called the bombshell BuzzFeed report claiming President Donald Trump told his former lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress false, and Trump has also fired back.

'Remember it was Buzzfeed that released the totally discredited "Dossier," paid for by Crooked Hillary Clinton and the Democrats (as opposition research), on which the entire Russian probe is based!' he posted late Friday night.

'A very sad day for journalism, but a great day for our Country!'. He then followed that up by tweeting: 'Fake News is truly the ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!'.

The President's response comes after the special counsel's office issued a rare public statement disputing the accuracy of the news report saying that Trump told his personal attorney Cohen to lie to Congress.

The special counsel's spokesman Peter Carr says: 'BuzzFeed's description of specific statements to the Special Counsel's Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen's Congressional testimony are not accurate'.

Meanwhile Ben Smith, editor-in-chief at BuzzFeed, tweeted: 'In response to the statement tonight from the Special Counsel's spokesman: We stand by our reporting and the sources who informed it, and we urge the Special Counsel to make clear what he's disputing.

Making his way around to CNN's Anderson Cooper, Smith further requested clarification from the special counsel's office and defended his reporters, Jason Leopold and Anthony Cormier.

'We're really confident in these specific sources and in the stories these reporters told,' Smith said after referencing two unidentified law enforcement officials from the original story that reported Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress about the Moscow real estate project.

Smith also called into MSNBC to speak with Chris Hayes saying 'the special counsel issued this very vague statement, we are eager to know what he's talking about'. The statement by Robert Mueller's office on Friday night doesn't cite any specific errors.

Trump had earlier Friday evening spent several hours retweeting several supporters. Shortly after the statement from Mueller's office was released Trump retweeted: 'Sadly so many will never get the memo that it was fake!'.

Buzzfeed's bombshell report claimed the president directed Cohen to lie in his testimony to Congress about a Trump Organization tower deal in Moscow that continued through the summer of 2016.

The president also retweeted the Newsmax host John Cardillo saying: 'I told you all that the BuzzFeed story was nonsense. Then he also drew attention to podcaster Dan Bongino's commentary, 'We called it. FAKE NEWS! "More Buzzfeed B.S."'.

He goes on to retweet Sebastian Gorka posting a photo of Trump's inauguration, and podcaster Bongino asserting Trump's job approval among Latinos is up during the government shutdown.

Earlier, New Yorker reporter Ronan Farrow had tweeted his own misgivings about the BuzzFeed story, writing: 'I can't speak to Buzzfeed's sourcing, but, for what it's worth, I declined to run with parts of the narrative they conveyed based on a source central to the story repeatedly disputing the idea that Trump directly issued orders of that kind.

CNN also written previously that the former Los Angeles Times, Dow Jones, and Vice News reporter Leopold had a 'checkered past' when it came to accuracy of his reports during the George W. Bush administration, prior to the Mueller office statement.

Leopold's investigative partner, Anthony Cormier, however, was a member of a Pulitzer Prize-winning team in 2016 at the Tampa Bay Times prior to joining BuzzFeed. He collaborated on an investigative series into the neglected mental health system in Florida.

He joined BuzzFeed's investigative unit shortly afterwards. The president's son, Donald Trump Jr.

, meanwhile, has been gleefully firing off tweets about the news outlet retweeting the Mueller office rebuttal with nothing but a series of 'crying laughing' emojis, and retweeting another post that had made the statement that either Trump is finished or BuzzFeed is with the comment 'You were saying??'.

Since the statement put out by Mueller's office, the President's eldest son Donald Trump Jr has been tweeting and retweeting rapidly taking shots at BuzzFeed and other media outlets reporting around the story including The Daily Beast and CNN.

Buzzfeed's report, if true, would constitute subornation of perjury – a felony crime. Obstruction of justice was the first order of impeachment against President Richard Nixon.

Trump blasted his former lawyer and fixer Cohen on Friday as a liar who was 'trying to reduce his jail time' when he reportedly told Mueller that a scheme to build a Trump Tower project in Moscow extended through the 2016 Republican National Convention and into the months before Trump became president-elect.

Earlier Friday Cohen returned to his Manhattan apartment Friday after getting medical treatment – with his arm appearing to be in a sling. Cohen advisor Lanny Davis said Cohen had gone into the hospital for pre-scheduled shoulder surgery.

Cohen could be seen with his left arm covered, hanging in a sling. He was holding a full-size white pillow against his body. His right hand had a small bandage of the kind used to cover a small wound by an IV.

He also wore a red identification bracelet of the kind distributed by hospitals.

Kim and Trump to meet for a second summit near end of Feb. - Duration: 2:30.

Our top story this evening.

A second summit between North Korea and the United States will take place in February.

Following negotiations between Pyeongyang and Washington, the White House officially

announced on Friday... that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. president Donald Trump

will meet for the second time late next month.

The location however, has yet to be announced.

Park Hee-jun reports.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump,... will meet "near the end of

February," according to the White House on Friday.

But the venue has not been announced,... and is set to be revealed later.

The news came after a 90-minute meeting between the North's top negotiator Kim Yong-chol and

President Trump at the White House.

He earlier met Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. Special Representative for North

Korea, Stephen Biegun.

They discussed efforts to implement the promises made during the two countries' first bilateral

summit in Singapore.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders described the meeting as "productive," but

added that sanctions will remain in place until North Korea's FFVD.

"The United States is going to continue to keep pressure and sanctions on North Korea

until we see fully and verifiable denuclearization.

We've had very good steps in good faith from the North Koreans in releasing the hostages

and other moves and so we're going to continue those conversations.

The President looks forward to next his next meeting."

The spotlight is now on the follow-up negotiations.

North Korea's Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui and Stephen Biegun are expected to meet this

weekend in Stockholm,... for the first time since Biegun took his post in August.

With Pyeongyang and Washington having made the summit official,... the logistics for

the meeting is likely to be sorted out by Choe and Biegun.

According to Seoul's foreign ministry,...

South Korea's nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon is also in the Swedish capital.

Two-way or three-way discussions could get underway,... which are likely to focus on

the agendas for the upcoming summit.

The latest announcement breaks the months-long deadlock between North Korea and the United

States.

But there's an unfamiliar silence-- no contact with the press nor tweets by Trump.

He's been quiet about the letters he received from Kim,... and regarding any recent developments

concerning North Korea.

The extra discretion could mean there's still a long way ahead... before the two sides can

find a compromise on the North's denuclearization.

It's also being viewed as a power play to maintain Washington's upperhand in the February

summit.

Trump recalled her congressional delegation's military escort to Afghanistan after they had already loaded a bus that was taking them to Joint Base Andrews

She accused him Friday of endangering lawmakers with the public declaration that heightened the security risk for members who planned to make the trip commercially

The trip to Afghanistan, as with most warzone visits, had been a secret.In a Thursday tweet before he informed her the trip had been canceled, he claimed the Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was 'groveling,' but the House leader was refusing appeals to end to the government shutdown, because she's beholden to the radical left

He said later in a national security speech that Pelosi will not let lawmakers work with him to come to a border security solution

'The party has been hijacked by the open borders fringe within the party, the radical left, becoming the radical Democrats,' he said

'Hopefully Democrat lawmakers will step forward to do what is right for our country, and what's right for our country is border security at the strongest level

' He added: 'Stop human hijacking, stop drugs, stop gangs, stop criminals.That's what we're gonna do

That was my pledge, and that's what we're going to do.' Until then, the federal government will remain shutdown because congressional Democrats refuse to approve border security, he said

The president brought up the situation at the southern border during a speech on his Missile Defense Review at the Pentagon

'I would like to briefly address another matter of critical national security, the humanitarian and security crisis at our southern border,' he said leading into his daily pitch for a border wall

'Without a strong border, America's defenseless, vulnerable and unprotected.' He thanked the military for 'helping us out during the big caravan period' as he made reference to another group of Central American migrants that has reportedly formed

'Thousands and thousands of people.We don't know where they're from, who they are, nothing,' he asserted

'We need strong borders.We need strong barriers and walls.Nothing else is going to work

Everyone knows it.Everybody's saying it now.Just a question of time.' This week the No

2 Democrat in the House, Steny Hoyer, admitted that walls 'obviously' work sometimes and that the barrier is not 'immoral' on its face

Rep.Katie Hill, a California Democrat, has also said a physical barrier like Trump wants could be effective

'While many Democrats in the House and the Senate would like to make a deal, Speaker Pelosi will not let them negotiate,' Trump said of the status of the shutdown

'The part has been hijacked by the open borders fringe.' Trump said earlier in a tweet that had no apparent connection to any news story, but appeared to be about immigration: 'The Left has become totally unhinged

They no longer care what is Right for our Countrty!' The president misspelled the word 'country' in the message

He did not send out a corrected version of the tweet.He went on to bash Schumer, the Senate Democratic leader, in a tweet for 'groveling' for another meeting at the White House

Trump walked out of their last one and hasn't spoke to the party leader since.Schumer offered to come back to the table as he spoke to reporters on Tuesday, if Trump will have him

'I'll meet with him anytime he wants.As you know, the last I spoke with him was when he walked out, threw a temper tantrum and walked out, so we haven't heard from him since then

' Schumer's office did not have a comment on the president's tweet.The senator has not commented, either, on the CoDel cancellations

The argument over military-supported trips is part of a broader fight the president is waging right now against Democrats who will not give him the $5

have to share something with you a tiny bit I noticed yesterday when President

Trump Donald Trump said he was gonna make an announcement my video my announcement

video or my channel actually captured a little bit of wind and so today I'm

making a general announcement making a general announcement you know why I'm

gonna give you a tip here okay I put major in front of mine because I

thought wouldn't that be fun because I made a video yesterday I called it major

I thought major with the military now today I'm using general general with the

military so the word general is popular it's a popular word with the

military so I'm gonna do that I'm gonna make a general announcement video guys I

had a fellow memory though there's a

well there was one time my ex came home and he's like he's like we can't call

the sergeant major smag and I'm like why not

well they just don't like it that's all he said well SM AG yes sergeant major so

the S is for sergeant ma G is Major so it's s mag but they call them smag

because we just can't do it just like we can't call a sergeant Sarge

he says they want to be called sergeant not Sarge but you know the whole time

not once not once and they're doing this stuff did they ever share anything about

the First Amendment and I think anything that's like okay were they being taught

about the First Amendment during all of this or you know when he was coming home

and testing it out on me and not sharing with me that you know this was First

Amendment stuff but however I do have to say he carried a little card and I think

he handed one to me and I don't know he showed it to me

carrying it in his wallet all the time and it had the Constitution on it or

something about the Constitution I was thinking I'm not I can't remember what

it was but it was a little tiny business card and and so yeah I have to wonder

that it's like well how many other how many soldiers are there that are just like

testing thing at things out on their spouses and not actually sharing the

information because the thing is is they can sign all this crap but technically

they're not under a nondisclosure agreement and and that was kind of that

was kind of the same thing that uh you know what I shared with you guys that

Google had me sign a nondisclosure agreement but then everything they told

me about came out like days before they told us about it which never made any

sense to me why am i under a nondisclosure agreement

when everything's being released prior to you guys telling it to us this

doesn't make any sense so I don't know so so it just kind of

made the non-disclosure agreement null and void you know you know and actually

my non-disclosure agreement said well if you figure it out yourself first you're

you know you're not under the non-disclosure agreement so if you

figure this stuff out so if you're under non-disclosure agreement and you figure

it out you can yourself you can talk about it and and it's like that that's

kind of you know reading through YouTube's Terms of Service can I read

through it and I read through it and I read through it it was just it was as

clear as mud and that's kind of the same thing as our constitutional law yeah the

truth is our constitutional rights on YouTube have been violated our First

Amendment on YouTube and in life have been and are currently being violated

and but thankfully there's some two minute videos that are a little

there are a lot of fun to watch it's like I would have so much fun doing that

but I think there was just some things I can't risk doing right now so yeah

that's all I'm going to say well the thing is I I can actually still use the

words but yeah I can make videos but there's just you know certain

circumstances that I can't do right now you know just you know because of the

other things here at home so yeah and that itself becomes another problem that

becomes a sub problem to the initial problem of censorship and First

Amendment rights being violated and systemically being violated so but

anyway I just wanted to share that with you guys that was fun to catch the

little wind I'll be anxious to look at my analytics tomorrow and see what

happens I can't say that it would be fun to have other words you know so I don't

know what will happen I mean I don't know what the other words will be but I

want to watch someone really close I'm gonna be watching Trump really close

wondering if just by using his name Trump in the title if I would catch a

little wind I mean I don't know I mean I have done that before but yeah my videos

say they really don't catch a whole lot of you know just the initial video

itself doesn't catch a whole lot of wind like some of those other ones are like

you know they can get tens of thousands of years within a few hours and so yeah

it's just kind of a you know like what's the difference or what what is it that's

actually going on between these other videos and then the videos that I do

well you know what's the difference you know if I because at one time we used to

be able to know for example what a good thing was a supermoon when they

talk about the super moon or an eclipse or something like that you know like 12

years ago you know people would this was the thing this was the thing that got me

is you know because back then I was like some people are now it's like well

that's stupid why aren't they making quality videos

and it's so it's like we just end up going in circles which is really funny

if you think about it because because it's like nobody's actually teaching

search engine optimization but the thing is it's like you know if somebody says a

word or advertises a word everybody's videos should be out in you know moving

freely and currently we have videos and channels actually that aren't moving

freely and that that becomes another problem that's a subset of another

initial problem and so that's how that's the thing that I've seen you know when I

started looking at things a little bit differently and looking at Google as a

search engine YouTube is a search engine and then surfacing I started comparing

you you know the YouTube heroes program and policing to real life that's like

what the you know it's like an AA it's a huge uh-huh I mean it was just like

crochet and I'm like this is surfacing something else here you know so there's

all kinds of individual codes online that you can crack you know so you can

use the internet and people to actually crack society's crack and hack society

when their systemic abuses taking place it is possible i I truly truly believe

that with all my heart so yeah there and I think there's a lot more of them

probably surfacing but there's special ways they need to be handled so there's

people way smarter than me that are I think they're doing stuff so so many

IT'S REALLY UP TO THE DEMOCRATS TO PRODUCE, TO IMPROVE OUR QUALITY OF LIFE.
