ALL IN DEEP STATE CRISIS AFTER TRUMP JUST STUNNED WASHINGTON DC WITH UNIMAGINABLE ACTION

and there's a Fox News Alert welcome to Hannity on this busy breaking news night we start

this morning before sunrise heavily armed FBI agents dressed in full

tactical gear surrounding the home of a 66 year old man drawing their weapons pounding

on the door and they took him

into custody now this was not a suspected murderer drug kingpin not a part of the mob

no this was Roger stone accused of making a false statement to Congress

stone is just the latest American to be persecuted by Robert

Muller's witch-hunt because of his connection to President Trump now coming up tonight longtime

Roger stone confidant and fellow mulher target he's identified

as person number one in this indictment jerome corsi

he will join us for an exclusive interview but first big news we start with the partial

government shutdown President Trump announced today that after

35 days a deal has been reached to reopen the government temporarily until

February the 15th he is given Congress now three weeks to agree on legislation to build

the wall secure our borders and he was speaking earlier today from the Rose

Garden and here's what the president had to say it's just common

sense walls work that's why most of the Democrats in Congress have voted in the past four bills

that include walls and physical barriers and very powerful fences

these barriers are made of Steel have seeped through visibility which is

very important and are equipped with sensors monitors and cutting-edge technology right

in our Hannity watch segment we have the real behind-the-scenes

story nobody else in the media will tell you numerous

Democrats both in the House and the Senate for the last two weeks they have been speaking

to their Republican colleagues they have been asking them to broker

this three-week opportunity to support the wall and negotiate other

parties like another issues like daca and dreamers they've been begging their Republican

colleagues to make that deal with the president so the president well he

showed leadership rose above the partisan bickering in the swamp offering

relief to workers all while sticking to his commitment to secure our border now the

president was very clear no ambiguity in three weeks if Congress cannot do their job secure

a deal to protect our borders

then the president will do what he lawfully has the right to do and that's declare a national

emergency and he will be building the wall with funds that he allocates

most likely from the Defense Department this is indeed a real crisis

in three weeks he will declare a national emergency and look at what the president's

done up till now he's offered concessions things the Democrats say

they wanted daca dreamers TPA he's standing up for life versus death to him

he's been arguing safety and security for the people of this country but tonight we

have to ask ourselves this question what are the Democrats what an ANSI

and Chuck been standing up for actually nothing

there's no position here they have only been placating what is now the radical extreme

base of the socialist Democratic Party of today and all they do is fuel their

daily anti Trump rage and hate ask that question of tonight Democrats what

did they do they went on vacation the president stayed at the White House luxurious junkets

really paid for by lobbyists while the president stays at the

White House refusing invitation after invitation to sit down with the

president who's saying I'm willing to work with you I'll work on Doc I'll work on dreamers

but we've got to secure the border to save the lives of our fellow countrymen

because of the problem with open borders now these other Democrats

privately they had been going behind the leadership in their own party asking leaders like Lindsey

Graham and others hey help us get this period where we can try

to get this job done they want the wall as well but they're just not

telling Schumer and Pelosi if not they know the president will declare that national emergency

now the president to his credit he has tried every single thing

he could possibly do he has been reasonable

he has been fair he's offered concessions but in the end it's his job as commander-in-chief

to keep us safe he'll do his job so now Congress they have

their three weeks to do their job and secure our

border Democrats we need Republicans they need to member the facts that we have built

so far 654 miles of border wall over the last

15 years with notable results for example the wall in Yuma Arizona after

it went from 5 miles to 60 Plus miles well that led to a 91% drop in crime remember Democrats

they actually used to be for strong borders just a few years ago

that's when Obama was president actually they sounded more like Trump

than Trump before they were consumed with all this anti Trump hate and rage every day

take a look people who enter the United States without our permission are illegal aliens

and illegal aliens should

not be treated the same as people who entered the US legally to so many Americans we do

not want the wall to be a symbol of America much preferring the Statue

of Liberty be that simple all of us agree that we need to have

comprehensive bipartisan immigration reform that can only begin strong border control

we must have that we must control our borders is an immorality it's

not who we are as a nation walls work but we've got to finish the job

I've said so many times on this program the cost of a porous border they're enormous

and it's growing more serious every single day human trafficking drug trafficking gangs

cartels it is a

life-and-death situation talk to angel moms and Angel dads talk to the parents that have

lost their kids because of the opioid crisis and then to make

matters worse another ten thousand person migrant Caravan right now as we

speak is headed our way so you say tonight to Chuck and Nancy all right behind your back

your fellow Democrats they want that wall they also want to deal

with daca they want to solve problems they want solutions will you

work for it now you can either work with this president do what's right for the country

or the American people will see you for who you are just obstructionist hating

a president and anyone out there by the way thinking president Trump cave

today you don't really know that Donald Trump I know he right now holds all the cards he

will secure the border one way or another and what President Trump works

hard to solve serious issues of life and death

face in the country well we do have another issue tonight Hannity watch on the deep state

robert muller and his merry band of democratic donors they continue

their quest literally to destroy the lives of everyone and anyone

that's associated with Donald Trump today Roger stone was their latest target our own

trace Gallagher has the very latest on the pre-dawn raid on the Fort

Lauderdale home of longtime president Trump confidant Roger stone

began with the FBI shouting opened the door it ended with stone being led away in handcuffs

the seven count indictment is the first criminal case in months from

special counsel robert muller and alleges that senior members of

the trump

Nancy Pelosi And Donald Trump Sealed A Shocking Agreement That No One Saw Coming - Duration: 3:14.

Americans could not believe what just happened.

Donald Trump and Nancy Pelosi just agreed to end a major standoff.

And they did it by coming to an agreement that no one saw coming.

Nancy Pelosi fired a shot across Donald Trump's bow during the government shutdown by canceling

the State of the Union speech scheduled for January 29th.

Pelosi lied and claimed the Secret Service could not secure the event since they weren't

being paid during the shutdown.

The Speaker also falsely claimed that the government needed to reopen before the President

could speak.

That was not true because the government was already shut down when Pelosi extended the

original invitation on January 3rd.

It was a childish and petty political stunt.

And even when Trump did reopen the government, Pelosi still did not immediately re-extend

the invitation to the President.

That led many observers to question Pelosi's ability to negotiate in good faith.

Finally, on Monday, three days after President Trump ended the Democrat shutdown in order

to allow Congress to negotiate a deal on border security, Speaker Pelosi extended an invitation

to Trump to deliver the State of the Union on February 5th.

Pelosi wrote to Trump:

"WHEN I WROTE TO YOU ON JANUARY 23RD, I STATED THAT WE SHOULD WORK TOGETHER TO FIND

A MUTUALLY AGREEABLE DATE WHEN GOVERNMENT HAS REOPENED TO SCHEDULE THIS YEAR'S STATE

OF THE UNION ADDRESS.

IN OUR CONVERSATION TODAY, WE AGREED ON FEBRUARY 5TH.

THEREFORE, I INVITE YOU TO DELIVER YOUR STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS BEFORE A JOINT SESSION

OF CONGRESS ON FEBRUARY 5, 2019 IN THE HOUSE CHAMBER.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER."

Some pundits thought Pelosi might hold out until after the February 15th deadline to

see if Trump would agree to forgo a second shutdown before inviting him to deliver the

State of the Union.

However, that position was not tenable.

And it was a sign of things to come in the upcoming border security negotiations.

The pressure is on Pelosi and the Democrats to now meet the President halfway on funding

for a physical barrier along the Southern border.

Pelosi could not hold to her original opposition in preventing the President from delivering

the State of the Union until a permanent border deal was reached even though Trump met Pelosi's

condition of reopening the government.

In a press conference after Trump agreed to end the Democrats government shutdown, Pelosi

hedged on her opposition to wall funding in the three week negotiations.

Even RINO Republican Lamar Alexander expressed optimism that lawmakers could agree on a deal

that included funding for Trump's border wall.

Fox News host Maria Bartiromo asked Alexander about the possibility of Congress striking

a deal on funding for the wall.

"Well, we should," Alexander answered.

"And here's something that's overlooked.

The last four presidents, Obama, Clinton, Bush, Bush, working with Congress, built 654

miles of physical barrier — that's wall — along our 2,000-mile southern border.

That's before President Trump," Alexander concluded.

We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.

FINNALY TRUMP JUST STUNS WASHINGTON DC WITH MASSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT - Duration: 13:16.

FINNALY TRUMP JUST STUNS WASHINGTON DC WITH MASSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT

welcome back president Trump doubles down on his demands for a border wall as

he calls on Democrats to restart negotiations on funding the government past February 15th

a new number of House

Democrats appear to be supporting the idea of at least a vote on wall funding one of

them joins me right now Utah Democratic congressman ben mcadams he's a

member of the House Financial Services Committee and the Blue Dog Coalition

congressman it's nice to have you on the program this morning thanks so much for being here

Thank You Maria good to be with you you were among 30 House Democrats

who sent Nancy Pelosi a letter urging her to give Trump a vote on the

wall funding tell me what you think would come out of that vote you know first and foremost

what the the purpose of that letter was to say that the shutdown

is doing no good for anybody we're harming the US economy we're

risking a recession we're harming the federal employees who are just working to put food

on the table and let's open the government there are processes in the

in the Congress in our government laid out by the founders to have debates

like this that's what Congress has intended to do so let's open the government and then

let's have this negotiation the president has a proposal that

should be heard in the Congress we should debate it and we should work to

build common ground and try and move forward a solution on border security on immigration

reform and let's go through the proper channels of the Congress that that

are built and intended to have this exact conversation but let's not do it

in the context of a shutdown that harms the American people that harms our economy and

risks the pocketbooks of every American what I'm trying to better understand

is really the makeup of the new Congress because of course we know

that there's a pocket of Democrats who just want the president out and much of it is politics

and they are resisting anything that he would like we know that

Nancy Pelosi and many of her colleagues voted for a wall and voted for wall fencing years

ago many times we know that there's a wall right now a border

wall in Nancy Pelosi zone state of California separating Tijuana and San Diego but because

President Trump has the idea it's resist resist resist so you

come from a red state you beat out your your opponent on the Republican

side do you think a movement within your new Congress to actually get things done putting

politics aside and not necessarily resisting everything the president says because you

don't like his personality

absolutely you know there are a lot of me and my colleagues who were elected this last

year a lot of us are just pragmatist who just want to get something

done before I was elected to Congress I was a mayor and mayor's just

have this attitude of okay what can we do to move forward to solve the problem as a

Democrat in a very red state I never got anything done unless I could reach

out and build bridges across the aisle so as long as the debate is

focused on you know as long as we're defining a win is meaning somebody else loses we're

never gonna have consensus so we've got to find that win win and I don't

know at this time what the win looks that win win looks like but we

have to find it and I know that a lot of my freshman colleagues are moderates who want

to find that win win that probably we should look at some things to address immigration

reform and dreamers I think is something important permanent

protections for dreamers but also border security as a mayor I saw illegal drugs and and the

impacts of that in my in my city and I want to do more to stop the flow

of illegal drugs into the end of the country so I think there's a lot of

common ground and I think the way to approach this and the way that I would approach it

if I was mayor is to say you know there's a conversation a debate about

wall or no wall let's step back from that conversation where there's

it's divided divisive and let's talk about what we have in common let's find that thread

of commonality amongst Republicans and Democrats I think the threat

of commonality is we all want to protect the border we can find common

ground on that so in some places that's going to mean technology other places in other ways

immigration reform and in some places it may mean a barrier and I think

if we step back and reframe the conversation about protecting the border

and what can we do and what's the most effective way to do that instead of debating a wall

or no wall let's debate border security and I think there's a lot

of common ground yeah I think you make a lot of good points because there

are areas of the country where they're wide open and perhaps maybe you don't need an actual

fence or wall there because you can use technology and drones

they're wide open areas that if illegals come in you can actually

apprehend them easily because it's so wide open but then there are areas like the wall

we've been looking at in Nancy Pelosi state separating Tijuana

from San Diego where you have a very dense population three million

people on one side of the wall through a Tijuana another three million people on the other

side of the wall in San Diego so what is your thoughts in terms of how much

is needed for actual barrier on the southern border and will you vote YES

for wall creation and more wall extension of what we're seeing in this picture so what

I've tried to do is not draw any lines in the sand I want to vote

to say have border protection to have border security to reduce the flow

of drugs and evil even illegal immigration that may include a barrier sure I wouldn't

rule out barriers and places where it's appropriate

I think that's I think that's acceptable but let's have this

conversation in the context of committee hearings at the Congress with a goal of finding common

ground I also think one of the things we can do to protect the border

is to reduce illegal immigration by fixing a broken immigration system if

we can make sure that those good people who are who are just looking for a job our economy

is asking to brainian workers let's find it let's make it easier

for them to immigrate legally so they're not tempted to cross the border

illegally so I think part of it part of the border part of the border protection strategy

has to be fixing a broken immigration system our laws do you feel that

you have a voice I mean I know that you did not support Nancy Pelosi's bid

to become the speaker for a second time do you feel like you're being listened to you

will you have the influence with these practical ideas that you're putting

forth I think so I mean we're just up getting up and going as a

congress right now I've been pleasantly surprised at people both on the Republican side and

even more progressive on the Democratic side who who

I felt that my voice is welcome let's let's hope that as we go into this

negotiation people can allow all voices to be at the table some of the pragmatists can

on both sides of the aisle again can really push for

common ground and trying to find that you know that solution that will

really garner a majority of support in Congress and help us to to reopen the border I'm somebody

who you know we're

gonna have disagreements from time to time but once one disagreements behind us we move

to the next issue we try and find common ground we don't carry baggage

forward for debate to debate and that's how I'd go into

this the same way we've got that behind us let's go further disagreements that are also

radical on the economic side of things you're on the Financial Services Committee

what are your thoughts on Elizabeth Warren's idea to confiscate

income to put attacks on overall assets and wealth or Alexandrian costea's idea of having

a seventy

percent

tax

For the second time in three years, This Is Us fans can blame Donald Trump for delaying the airing of a season finale of This Is Us

Trump Begs Global Warming To Come Back Fast, Climate Change Supporters Freak - Duration: 4:19.

With the Midwest experiencing record-low temperatures, President Donald Trump has taken the opportunity

to mock the idea of global warming.

"What the hell is going on with Global Warming?

Please come back fast, we need you!" the president joked.

Of course, this caused climate change supporters to freak out.

The Midwest is currently bracing for dangerously low temperatures, causing climate change skeptics

to question the idea of global warming.

Heavy snow and powerful wind created blizzard-like conditions Monday across parts of the Midwest,

prompting officials to cancel about 1,000 flights at Chicago's airports and close

hundreds of schools.

But forecasters warned the most dangerous weather is yet to come: frigidly low temperatures

that the region hasn't seen in a quarter century.

Snowplow drivers had trouble keeping up with the snow in Minnesota and Wisconsin, where

some areas got as much as 15 inches.

Chicago-area commuters woke up to heavy snowfall, with more than 5 inches already on the ground.

In Michigan, non-essential government offices were closed, including the Capitol.

[Source: Daily Mail]

But the snow is only "part one, and maybe even the easier part" because temperatures

will plummet over the next three days, according to Brian Hurley, a meteorologist with the

Weather Prediction Center.

"You're talking about frostbite and hypothermia issues very quickly, like in a matter of minutes,

maybe seconds," Hurley said.

Wednesday is expected to be the worst, with wind chills in northern Illinois potentially

falling to negative 55 degrees, which the National Weather Service called "possibly

life threatening."

Meanwhile, temperatures in Minnesota could hit minus 30 degrees with a wind chill of

negative 60.

The potentially record-breaking low-temperature forecast in Milwaukee is negative 28 degrees,

with a windchill as low as negative 50.

The current record of minus 26 degrees was set in 1996.

"That's 40 degrees below normal," said Hurley.

"When you think about it in that sense, that's a big 'whoa.'"

Wednesday is looking like one of the coldest days ever on record in Chicago, with the high

temperature expected to be 12 degrees below zero, which would be colder than some of the

most frigid places on earth.

For example the South Pole is expected to reach a high temperature of 4 below zero on

Wednesday.

Barrow, Alaska, the northernmost point in the United States, located above the Arctic

Circle, will be 7 below zero.

Zackenberg Station, Greenland, which is also north of the Arctic Circle, will be 11 below.

While there is no weather station on the summit of Mount Everest, you would certainly expect

even the base camp would be colder than Chicago, given it's at an elevation of more than

17,000 feet above sea level.

No such luck.

They're expecting a high of 30 on Wednesday.

[Source: CBS Chicago]

President Donald Trump took to Twitter to mock the idea of global warming in the wake

of such frigid temperatures.

"In the beautiful Midwest, windchill temperatures are reaching minus 60 degrees, the coldest

ever recorded," wrote the president.

"In coming days, expected to get even colder.

People can't last outside even for minutes.

What the hell is going on with Global Waming?

Please come back fast, we need you!"

In the beautiful Midwest, windchill temperatures are reaching minus 60 degrees, the coldest

ever recorded.

In coming days, expected to get even colder.

People can't last outside even for minutes.

What the hell is going on with Global Waming?

Please come back fast, we need you!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 29, 2019

Indeed, it defies logic that the world could somehow be in the midst of a global warming

crisis which so-called experts have blamed for everything from terrorism to the recent

migrant caravan.

Perhaps, this sort of fluctuation in temperature is actually normal.

After all, it has been going on for centuries.

This is just more proof that the climate change narrative was created by politicians as another

way to manipulate the public.

Do not be fooled.

Nicolle Wallace Says Trump's Base Thinks He's a Loser - Duration: 5:18.

-Welcome back! -Thank you! Wow!

-It's lovely to have you back.

You and Rosie are friends. You know each other.

-Yes, we are. -We are friends.

We were on the ill-fated -- I don't know --

season whatever of "The View."

And Donald Trump is our through line.

So, he came out, and she was supposed to fight with me.

And she said, "He's a racist."

And I was like, "Mm-hmm."

And then she -- "He's terrible." I was like, "Mm-hmm."

And that was it. We both got fired.

Right? -Yes, pretty much.

-I want to ask about --

There's so many things I want to ask you about.

But the shutdown --

it seems like everyone is in agreement, pretty much.

There's maybe some far-right holdouts

that Trump won this game.

But everybody seems to agree that Nancy Pelosi

played this perfectly.

What do you think is the fallout from this for the president?

-Well, the fallout is -- those far-right holdouts

are calling us, you know, from blocked numbers,

saying, "Yeah, he lost."

I mean, the holdout is -- even the wackiest part

of his base thinks he's a giant loser for this whole caper.

[ Cheers and applause ] No, seriously.

And it's not because they disagree about the wall.

They just think that, strategically, he failed.

They think that he was owned

publicly and privately by Nancy Pelosi.

And it's sort of an insider point,

but it was his son-in-law, Jared Kushner,

who ran point on this.

And they think he's not up for the task

of running legislative affairs for The White House.

-She seemed, at every level, to know exactly what to do.

Was the taking away of the State of the Union --

Was taking away something that ceremonial

from the president a stroke of genius from Nancy?

-It's a mistake to project onto him more sophistication

than exists, and for him, taking away air time,

taking away the thing that we all recognize

from the movies and whatnot about being president,

standing there with the people behind you

clapping or booing or whatever they're doing.

That, to him -- Those are some of the most

sort of powerful and precious things to him

about being president.

So to take that away

really did sort of cut all of his leverage.

-And, of course, it's happening on the same day

that he capitulates there, Roger Stone is indicted.

You traveled in Republican circles

when he was in those circles, as well, Roger Stone.

What was your take on Roger Stone?

-I mean, he was at a firm that was so dirty,

you just knew that if no one else would hire a bad dictator,

like, "Oh, well, that firm will do it."

It was Stone, Manafort,

who's awaiting sentencing for his felonies.

And, you know, the idea that we're all supposed to believe --

Chris Christie was on my show today,

and I said, "You know, everyone around the president

has either been convicted or is awaiting trial

for the crime of lying about Russia.

Is that a coincidence?"

"Eh, it might be a coincidence."

I mean, everyone that the president

surrounded himself with is either

a convicted felon or has been charged with a felony.

-You talked to Chris Christie today, and it was a very long --

You talked to him for about 40 minutes,

and it was a fascinating interview.

-I don't think it was that long, was it?

-No, I was -- But, again,

I wanted to hear you interview him.

But, you know, he wrote this book,

and it seems to be a thing that a lot of people

leave the Trump administration, and then they take this

one shot at sort of reframing their experience,

because they are now trying to, you know,

re-enter polite society.

Do you think Chris Christie will be effective with this book,

with his take on what had happened

inside that White House?

-I think Chris Christie is like Donald Trump,

in that people know what they think about him.

And if you're from New Jersey, you know,

he left with some of the lowest approval ratings

in that state's history.

But I think if you're in the Republican Party

and you see a lot of people were into Trump,

Chris Christie has some of that bluntness without, you know,

all of the criminality that seems to follow Donald Trump.

-Well, I do think something that's similar

with the two of them is they --

The people were charmed by their authenticity.

You know, and, again, it was no small thing

that Chris Christie was, you know,

a Republican governor in New Jersey.

-Yeah. And, look, Chris Christie has genuine friendships

on the other side of the aisle.

And I don't want to name any of them.

They may be in witness protection at this point.

But, I mean, he did --

-"I got the kind of friends that don't like the world knowing."

-No, no. But he -- And has obvious political talents.

The challenge I think he'll have with the book is --

he savages Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law.

He spares nothing. And Kushner deserves it.

Savages Bannon. Bannon deserves it.

I said this to him on TV, so don't feel like

I'm talking about him behind his back on TV.

But he doesn't lay a glove, really, on the president.

And the president puts those

incompetent and seemingly corrupt people

in very powerful places.

-Yeah, I guess that's the disconnect is --

how can you say it's not the president's fault?

He's surrounded by, you know, sort of liars and idiots,

because that seems to be, like, a pretty important part

of the job is who you bring into The White House with you.

-The president has surrou-- There weren't any qualifications

to work on the Trump campaign or you didn't really

have to know how to do anything political.

-Yeah.

-But you had to know Russians, like Russians,

and then lie about what you did with them.

-Yeah. That's a weird thing to have.

That's -- You had that in "special skills" on the résumé.

-Maybe it was, like -- Yeah...

Ahead of the expected polar vortex this week,

President Trump tweeted last night,

Okay. Once again, you're confusing weather with climate.

How can I explain this to you?

Okay, let's watch a clip of you being a decent person.

-I will say this about Hillary. She doesn't quit.

She doesn't give up. I respect that.

-See, that was weather -- a quick, one-time thing.

Now, this is climate.

-I moved on her like a bitch.

Ugh! I don't know what I said!

You know what? You've really had enough.

They're rapists. Get him outta here!

Don't give him his coat. Keep his coat.

-And that's what's going to get us all killed.

Many Countries at UN Oppose Trump Interference in Venezuela - Duration: 17:19.

Welcome to The Real News Network. I'm Paul Jay.

On Saturday morning there was a somewhat extraordinary meeting of the UN Security Council. It was

an open meeting. Countries were invited to come give their opinion and response to the

push by the United States, led by President Donald Trump, to recognize Juan Guaido. This

is the man who is the president of the National Assembly in Venezuela who declared himself

president. Apparently, as the Wall Street Journal is now reporting, that Vice President

Mike Pence phoned Guaido the night before he made such a declaration. And either he

suggested he make the declaration–that's not clear–but at least what is clear, according

to the report, Pence says that if he'd made such a declaration he would get U.S. support.

And in fact, the United States supported Guaido's declaration almost immediately after he made

it. Well, there's been a very interesting split

in the world that was–this was reflected at those meetings Saturday morning, where

many countries refused to go along with this plan, saying that the UN Charter says there

should be non-interference in the internal affairs of UN member countries, and that that

should be respected. The United States says they don't like the way the elections were

held, and a bunch of countries have aligned themselves with the United States on this,

on their position of recognizing Guaido and calling, essentially, what many people are

calling a coup that Guaido should take power. And they are openly trying to foment support

within the Venezuelan military, 'they' being the United States, to engineer such

a coup. At any rate, here's a little sample of what

took place at the UN on Saturday morning. Now we have a new leader, Juan Guaido, in

Venezuela, who has promised to bring elections and constitutional order back to Venezuela,

and security back to the region. This is not about foreign intervention in

Venezuela. It is not an attempt to impose a result on the Venezuelan people. Democracy

never needs to be imposed. It is tyranny that has to be imposed.

But what about if we look at the international law, the Charter? Where is this based on?

Are we simply setting aside international relations based on international law, and

replacing the with international relations based on force?

China supports the efforts made by the Venezuelan government to uphold national sovereignty,

independence, and stability. The meeting which we are being forced to be

present is another element of the strategy of the United States to effect regime change

in Venezuela. We regret that in this unethical ploy, in its unethical ploys, the United States

is involving the Security Council. Colombia has come here to the Security Council

to ask the international community to demand that the life and well being of Juan Guaido

is upheld, and not just that he is protected but also the members of the National Assembly

and all those who fight for democracy. And indeed, we have come to call for the international

community's support for all those Venezuelans who are sparing no effort to build a better

future. Belgium calls for the restoration of constitutional

order in Venezuela. The presidential elections, which took place in May of last year, were

in no way free, fair, or credible, thus stripping the government of Nicolas Maduro of any democratic

legitimacy. The main threat to peace and security in Latin America and the Caribbean is, in

fact, the bullying by the United States and its allies of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,

which is a flagrant affront to the popular will of the people of Venezuela, and to the

institutional framework of this country. I ask the question honestly: If we look back

through history, which country has been better after an intervention by the United States

of America? Have we not discussed in this very Security Council the serious adverse

impact and consequences of situations such as the current situation in Iraq, or Syria,

or in Libya?  So that was a sampling of what took place

Saturday morning at the United Nations. Now joining us to discuss this somewhat realignment

of forces in the world, I think, as well as what's really at stake at this issue with

Venezuela, is Larry Wilkerson. Larry is the former chief of staff to Secretary of State,

former Secretary of State, Colin Powell. Thanks for joining us, Larry.

Thanks for having me, Paul.  So it seems you can–the fundamental issue

that was seemed to be raised by many countries at the UN was that this is an issue of non-interference,

not an issue of how you assess the Venezuelan elections, although some countries went even

further and said one should respect the outcome of those elections. But other countries, it

seems to me, were saying it's not up to countries outside Venezuela to decide on the

domestic affairs of Venezuela, and that that principle trumps everything else. What do

you–what's your view of this? It's all a discussion about how power should

be managed and arranged in the world. And despite what anyone says, Xi Jinping, Vladimir

Putin, or Donald Trump, or Mike Pompeo, these kinds of things are all about the distribution

of power in the world and who's going to have influence over who.

And so when you look at Venezuela, on the rim of the Gulf of Mexico and subject to the

Monroe doctrine, and its oil, some say–many with reason–and experts say that Venezuela

has the largest oil reserves in the world. Very difficult to get to, very difficult to

get out of the ground, high economic costs for doing so, but nonetheless a lot of oil.

And the United States has a long relationship with Caracas. And so you can understand this

happening. At the same time, the principle of non-intervention

is just that: non-intervention. And not for a moment do I think that the United States,

particularly with this administration, will restrain itself from intervening significantly

in Venezuela. After all, I was there in 2002 when we began this more or less slow fuse

coup d'etat against Chavez. And of course, I've read all about Salvador Allende, and

Mohammed Mossadegh, and Jacobo Arbenz; all the other people in the world who we have

overthrown from time to time. So this is no surprise to me. It is somewhat

of a surprise that we have this division of view in the world. And the majority of the

world, if you want to go by population, seems to be in favor of a more pure definition of

non-intervention than the United States likes to entertain.

Yeah, I think it's it's interesting the way that most of the corporate media is

reporting on this. It's as if the majority of the world, governments of the world, are

with the United States with Trump on recognizing. But in fact, the governments that represent

the majority of the people of the world are certainly not with this plan. India has refused

to recognize Guaido, and considers this a domestic concern of Venezuela. China, Russia.

And also, I thought, maybe even most interesting of all of this, is that Saturday morning the

CARICOM, countries the Caribbean countries, they refused to buckle under U.S. pressure.

Trump has been making a lot of threats about countries that take our aid and want to be

allied with us, and then they "don't even vote for us at the UN." Well, they stood

up to Trump. There were several very small countries that made a point of coming to speak

at that meeting. They could have just gone with the CARICOM statement, which wasn't

as strong as what Barbados said, and St. Thomas and the Grenadines said, and some others.

They really took up this position for non-interference in domestic affairs.

And the fact that Canada, which, you know, Canada's whole international identity is

supposedly based on its support for the United Nations and the Charter of the United Nations–of

course, there's a lot of history of that not being true. But Canada tries to pretend

it's true. Canada is supporting this. Germany, Spain, and France are now calling for elections.

I mean, who are they to call for elections in Venezuela? And the hypocrisy of all this.

Like, if they–if they don't like the elections that took place in China–I'm sorry, in

Venezuela–and that's a reason not to recognize the government, then why don't they apply

that to China and Saudi Arabia and any number of countries, including the United States?

There's a lot of people that could say the United States, the American elections, weren't

all that democratic. I think you have to consider the situation

in Venezuela. Now, I remember very well the words of Richard Nixon to his then-CIA director

Richard Helms: Made the Chilean economy scream. That's exactly what the President said to

his CIA director as they prepared to overthrow Salvador Allende in Chile. So I'm not discounting

the fact that–what I'm going to say now–might have in part or in large part been caused

by the United States making the Venezuelan economy scream. That's certainly a possibility.

Nonetheless, it is screaming. The Venezuelan people are flocking into Colombia, the only

South American country that will take them, by and large. And the only reason Colombia

is taking them is because it's returning the good offices of Venezuela when the FARC

was giving Colombia so much trouble and Colombians were going into Venezuela. So it feels like

it owes Venezuela a debt, and rightfully so. But there are some three to four million Venezuelans

now who are in the diaspora, and left Venezuela because of the economic conditions.

So whoever is responsible–Chavez, Maduro, the National Assembly, the United States–whomever

is responsible for this chaos in Venezuela, it is, nonetheless, chaos. And so something

needs to be done. But, as these other countries have said, I believe it's up to the Venezuelan

people to do this, and not the United States, and not Canada, and not France, and not Germany.

That's what non-intervention is all about.  And there is a proposal on the table from

Mexico and Uruguay to help negotiate this. And it seems to me that this is–it is such

a fundamental principle of international law, and it goes to the very core of why there

is a United Nations, that it's really something that Canada and some of these European countries

that try to pretend they are believers in international law are going along with this.

I can kind of understand the right-wing governments of Latin America that are supporting this

in Brazil and some of the other countries. Although what a joke that they consider the

Brazilian elections legitimate. You have a parliamentary coup against the Brazilian president,

and then you have an election where the main opponent to Bolsonaro is sitting in jail.

Lula is sitting in jail. They won't let him run. And those elections are considered

OK by the Trump administration. Let's go back and look at Hillary Clinton

and Barack Obama on Honduras. In my estimation the Honduran–recent Honduran exchange of

governments was unconstitutional, unethical, immoral, and illegal. And yet the United States

jumped right on top of it to recognize the new, more conservative, Honduran president.

And I've been in Honduras, I've been in Tegucigalpa, and I know the kind of person

that we recognize. So this is something we do. If it's in our

interest we do it; if it's not in our interest we don't do it. That's the simple formula

that we use. The difference with the Trump administration is you never know when that

formula is going to be applied or how it's going to be applied. And I would suspect that

one of the reasons you got such instant agreement, if you will, from countries like France, like

Germany, like Canada, is because Trump has frightened them. He's frightened them with

his approach to NATO, and he's frightened them with his trade wars, and so forth. And

so on this particular issue, where they really don't have a dog in the fight, not up close

and personal, anyway, they're not going to turn against Trump.

Yeah, I think that's a very important point. I interviewed a Canadian general during

the early stages of sending troops to Afghanistan. And I asked him, why did we send troops to

Afghanistan? Lots of the opinion at the time after 9/11 was that this could have been more

of a police-style operation in Afghanistan, going after al Qaeda, the Taliban. It didn't

need to be a full-scale military invasion with so many countries involved. It wasn't

a proportional or even, to large extent, legal response. And he told me it's very simple

why Canada sent troops to Afghanistan. He says we sent troops to Afghanistan because

we need to pay in blood to send our goods across the border into the United States.

That if we want the same kind of this easy trade relationship with the U.S., we have

to take up some of the burden of military operations. And he didn't use the word empire,

but that's what it came down to. We have to play our role in the world.

And Venezuela, I think, is a very good example of this. And it wasn't just now that Canada

has played this role. Canada has been playing this role in Venezuela from around the time

of the coup in 2002. That's the empire. That's the lessons

of empire throughout history, whether it's Athens dealing with Corinth and Milos and

others in her empire, or whether it's Britain dealing with the subcontinent in her empire.

You demand obeisance, and obeisance is given so that your people can have some sort of

stability and prosperity, until you get rid of the empire.

And I think it's important, just to add to your point about Honduras and Obama and

Clinton, that some of the–several of the leaders of the Democratic Party, including

Nancy Pelosi, have actually endorsed Trump's strategy in Venezuela.

This is a bipartisan issue. I think I told you, the other day I came out of a room that

had a bipartisan national security elite group debating things. And one of the things–debating

the future and all manner of issues, everything from whether or not we should plus up State's

150 account, the international relations account, how we should go after the defense budget,

and so forth. And so I came out of that with the distinct impression that everyone there,

Democrat and Republican, had decided that perpetual war is the concomitant of empire.

Put in plain English: War, interminable war, is this Empire's debt to the future.

All right. Thanks for joining us, Larry. Thank you for having me.

Trump Has Been Slandering Past Presidents To White House Tour Guests - Duration: 5:12.

According to a new report in the Washington Post that was corroborated by several insiders

in the White House as well as passages from former White House aide, Cliff Sims, new book,

Donald Trump has repeatedly taken people on tours of the White House and lied about what

a horrible person Barack Obama was.

According to the reports, Donald Trump has taken people under the official White House

dining room and it's pointed and said, Barack Obama would sit in here all day every day

watching basketball.

Trump also claims that there was a hole in the wall, the actual hole in the wall that

was somehow caused by the Obama administration.

Maybe Obama got angry watching a basketball game and punched the wall.

Who knows, but Trump's out there telling them, look, Obama put a hole in the wall.

He sat on his ass all day watching basketball.

What a horrible guy.

Now let me show you where I sit on my fat ass all day watching Fox News and tweeting

out nonsense.

I'm sure that part of it never comes up on the tour, but I would love to see that, wouldn't

you?

It was maybe lazy.

Boy, and I'm not talking about the president talking about his chair, probably covered

in Cheeto dust, Doritos all around the floor, like he's a toddler.

Yeah.

I am willing to put my next paycheck that something like that actually exists in the

White House right now, you know, probably about three feet away from a massive TV blaring

Fox News 24 hours a day.

Back to the story though.

He also takes people and points out like, oh, this is where Bill Clinton had that affair

with Monica Lewinsky.

What he's doing, and this is according to multiple sources, including Cliff Sims, is

he's basically just lying about how horrible and disgusting all of the past presidents

were.

He tells people there's a real fly problem when we moved in.

You know, I can't help but feel like this is some kind of attack on Obama just because

he's black, right.

You know, the black guy sits in the dining room and watches basketball all day.

The black guy put a hole in the wall.

The black guy had a real fly problem and turn this place into a quote real dump.

We remember when Trump said that, right, I can't help but feel like there is some very

severe, disgusting racial overtones to these statements, but here's what this is really

about.

This about a man who's so insecure that he's willing to lie about Barack Obama and what

a slob and filthy human being he was.

Now I don't care if you liked Obama's policies or if you didn't.

I didn't like most of his policies.

I don't think he was that great.

He was an incredible centrist and did not do everything that he should have done, but

in terms of being a decent human being and you know, basic maturity and cleanliness,

I think he was probably a really good guy.

I think it was probably a clean guy and I don't believe any of these nonsensical stories

that Trump is apparently telling people on his unofficial White House tours that according

to sources he's done for hundreds of people.

Now, whether or not they believe the stories, he has to tell us another thing, but we shouldn't.

We shouldn't believe a single word that comes out of this man's mouth.

Considering the fact that in two years in office, he's told more than 8,000 lies, Trump

is the disgusting one.

Trump is the slob, and if that White House is in fact a real dump, it's most likely because

of the current inhabitant.
