Romney says Trump hasnt risen to the mantle of presidency in Washington Post op ed CNNPolitics

"It is well known that Donald Trump was not my choice for the Republican presidential nomination. After he became the nominee, I hoped his campaign would refrain from resentment and name calling. It did not," Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, wrote in the opinion piece, adding that several of Trumps Cabinet appointments had been "encouraging."

"But, on balance, his conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions this month, is evidence that the President has not risen to the mantle of the office," he wrote.

Romney has been a vocal critic of the President during Trumps campaign and first two years in office, although the two had appeared to mend fences after Trump was elected. They were photographed dining together as Trump mulled making Romney his secretary of state, and the President

Romney wrote in Tuesdays op ed that he agreed with some of the policy changes Trump has championed. "But policies and appointments are only a part of a presidency," he wrote.

"A president should demonstrate the essential qualities of honesty and integrity, and elevate the national discourse with comity and mutual respect. ... And it is in this province where the incumbents shortfall has been most glaring."

Brad Parscale, Trumps 2020 campaign manager, responded to Romneys piece in a tweet Tuesday evening, writing that the incoming senator from Utah "lacked the ability to save this nation" while Trump "has saved it."

"Jealously is a drink best served warm and Romney just proved it. So sad, I wish everyone had the courage Trump had," Parscale wrote.

Romney also said in the piece that Trumps presidency has weakened Americas influence abroad, writing that "Trumps words and actions have caused dismay around the world."

"The world needs American leadership, and it is in Americas interest to provide it," he wrote.

Romney, who is set to take office Thursday, said he looks forward to tackling important issues with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, as well as other senators, adding that he "will support policies that I believe are in the best interest of the country and my state, and oppose those that are not."

As for Trump, Romney said he does not "intend to comment on every tweet or fault."

"But I will speak out against significant statements or actions that are divisive, racist, sexist, anti immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions," he wrote.

President Trump tweets he is also looking forward to meeting North Korean leader, while.. - Duration: 2:30.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un gave his highly anticipated New Year's speech yesterday, in

which many were hoping for a sign that there might be a breakthrough in North Korea's negotiations

with the U.S.

The State Department decided not to comment on the speech, but President Trump said he

hopes to meet with Kim Jong-un. Lee Ji-won has more.

In response to Kim Jong-un's New Year's speech, U.S. President Donald Trump said he too looks

forward to meeting with his North Korean counterpart.

President Trump on Tuesday evening, tweeted the comment together with part of a news report

that says Kim Jong-un is ready to meet President Trump anytime.

He referred to Kim as someone who realizes that North Korea possesses great economic

potential.

Trump's tweet also included the part of the report where it said the regime will not make

or test nuclear weapons or give them to others.

This follows the North Korean leader's New Year's speech early on Tuesday, where he said

he is firmly determined to denuclearize.

But Kim also said, should the U.S. not keep its promise to the world, and only urge the

North to take measures, Pyeongyang will have no choice but to find "other ways" to settle

peace on the Korean Peninsula.

And in making a peaceful and prosperous peninsula, Kim said efforts for multi-party talks should

be made to change the current armistice agreement to a declaration to end the Korean War,...

and have South Korea cease all military drills with "other foreign sources."

Kim's New Year's speech was long awaited by many around the world as it was hoped to provide

a breakthrough in the current months-long deadlock in the denuclearization talks.

But the U.S. seemed to be careful on its evaluation of the speech.

A U.S. State Department spokesperson,.. speaking to Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency on the condition

of anonymity on Tuesday said the U.S. declines the "opportunity to comment".

While such a response is uncommon, some watchers say that the temporary shutdown of the U.S.

federal government may have been a reason for it.

Meanwhile, major U.S. media outlets reported on how the deadlock still continues.

The New York Times said that the nuclear negotiations are back at square one, as the North's demands

are not that different from before the summit.

And the Washington Post cited a senior analyst who said that the U.S. should move decisively

in the new year to find out how far Kim is willing to go towards a verified cap on his

arsenal.

Kanye West reaffirms his support for Donald Trump - Duration: 2:54.

Kanye West has reaffirmed his support for Donald Trump and promised to wear his Make America Great Again cap during concerts

The rapper courted controversy throughout last year for his public support of the president and was often spotted wearing a red cap bearing the slogan of Mr Trump's 2016 election campaign

West, 41, distanced himself from politics in October, saying he had been used to "spread messages (he) don't believe in"

However, on New Year's Day, West took to Twitter to reveal his continued support for the president

He said: "Trump all day. Just so in 2019 you know where I stand." West added three dragon emojis, likely a reference to the "dragon energy" he believes he shares with Mr Trump

West later tweeted to say he would begin performing with his MAGA cap on, saying it represents people not being able to tell him what to do

He said: "One of my favorite of many things about what the Trump hat represents to me is that people can't tell me what to do because I'm black

"  West also revealed he will appear on Joe Rogan's podcast. Rogan, a stand-up comedian, hosts the Joe Rogan Experience, one of the world's most popular podcasts

West has had a public struggle with mental health problems.  Earlier this week he tweeted to say he was "drug free" and that he feels "stronger than ever"

Trump Freaks Out After Mild Criticism From Mitt Romney - Duration: 4:35.

Recently, Mitt Romney pendant op-ed for the Washington Post where he provided what might

be some of the most mild criticism ever have Donald Trump.

Nonetheless, this extremely weak criticism of the president didn't stop Donald Trump

from getting angry on Wednesday morning and tweeting out the following.

Here is what Trump said.

Here we go with Mitt Romney.

But so fast, a question will be, is he a flake?

I hope not.

I would much prefer that mit focus on border security and so many other things where he

can be helpful.

I won big and he didn't.

He should be happy for all Republicans be a team player.

And when first and foremost, Mitt Romney has won all of his elections and actually lost

the presidential election, uh, with still more votes, more percentage of the votes than

Donald Trump has ever gotten in any election that he has ever been.

And so you can't say you won big and he didn't when he is consistently gotten a larger portion

of votes than you have.

But of course, facts don't matter in your reality, uh, immune bubble that you live in.

But that's not even necessarily what this is about.

Obviously Donald Trump doesn't like anybody saying anything about him that's not completely

flattering.

And Mitt Romney did that in the op Ed.

Mitt Romney basically goes after Donald Trump saying I had thought, you know, after the

campaign ended and he got sworn in as president, that he would become presidential.

You know, I was hoping he wasn't going to name call and he wasn't going to be immature

and he wasn't going to be just downright awful.

Buddy is.

Did you really think that this man was going to change who he is as a human being just

because he has a new title and a new office that that's not how that works.

Donald Trump is who Donald Trump has always been an everyone who looked at this critically

knew that that was going to happen.

Mit and, and why after two years after he endorsed your campaign for Senate, after you

sat and had that very awkward dinner with him a year or so ago, why now are you just

suddenly saying, you know what, I don't like the way this man is behaving.

But again, that's not even the point.

The point is something Romney said within this op-ed, which echoes exactly what we have

been saying here for years.

Here it is.

I'm going to read this to you word for word.

It is not that all of the president's policies have been misguided.

He was right to align us corporate taxes with those of global competitors to strip out excessive

regulations to crack down on China's unfair trade practices to reform criminal justice

and to conservative judges.

These are policies mainstream Republicans have promoted for years.

That paragraph by Mitt Romney, again, we have been saying that others have been saying it

for years at this point.

The reason they don't actually turn on Donald Trump is because he's still doing everything

they would be doing if they were president.

We would not see a difference in policy today.

If it was Mitt Romney sitting in the Oval Office, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul,

it would all be identical.

Maybe not as such a as much intense fearer over the wall or metal slats or whatever the

hell Trump's saying it is today, but the policies would be no different.

The judicial nominees would be no different.

We would still be living in the same kind of hell no matter which Republican were occupying

the White House and Mitt Romney just adMitted that himself.

The problem is not with Donald Trump's policies.

The problem is that they don't like the wrapper around the policy and that is Donald Trump.

Any one of them would be doing the same thing.

They would just be doing it with a smile on their face and not calling someone else an

infant title name.

That is the only difference between Donald Trump and every other republican in Washington

DC.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders Can't Leave Trump Because No One Else Will Hire Her - Duration: 3:31.

In June of last year, CBS News reported that Sarah Huckabee Sanders and deputy press secretary,

Raj Shaw, within the White House communications department, they would both be gone by the

end of the year by 2018.

And these are actually report that Sarah Huckabee Sanders, herself, did not directly refute.

She did not say that this story is untrue.

But here's the thing, folks, we've just ended 2018.

We're now into 2019 and Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Ros shaw both still have their jobs.

So why is that?

Did they suddenly decide that they like what they do?

Well, that doesn't seem like the case considering Shaw has removed his job title from his official

twitter bio and Sarah Huckabee Sanders is down to like one press conference that lasts

less than 15 minutes per month instead of doing them every single day.

So yeah, not exactly like these people have fallen in love with their positions, but according

to Yahoo News, the reason these two nincompoops are still in their jobs is because they actually

can't find work anywhere else.

And you know, this is something that I do wholeheartedly believe.

I know we've said this all throughout.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, tenure as press secretary, she has no discernible skills that would prove

valuable to any company, any organization, any think tank in the United States of America.

She goes out there and lies, which he a lot of these think tanks.

They send people out to the media.

They lie.

A lot of these cable news host, especially those on Fox, they lie all the time, so why

is Sarah Huckabee Sanders and he different because she does it so belligerently so angrily

and so obviously.

See that's the difference between Sarah Huckabee Sanders brand of lying and say the lies you

hear on Fox News.

Those of us who look at it objectively understand that the people on Fox News or lying just

like we do with Sarah Huckabee Sanders, but even those who tend to support the president

have also come out and said, wow, Sarah Huckabee.

Sanders is clearly not telling the truth here.

They don't do that to Fox News because they package their lives a little better.

They're a little more polished at it, little more seasoned.

They know what they're doing.

They can lie to your face, but put a smile on their face and so you smile right back

at them.

I don't know that Sarah Huckabee Sanders knows how to smile.

I don't know that her mouth even bins in that direction because she's such an angry hate

filled human being, and that's why she's not going to find a job anywhere in the media.

She's not happy enough when she lies.

She's openly spoken about how much she actually hates the press, so it's not likely one of

them is going to hire her knowing how much she actually hates them, so she stuck and

she deserves to be stuck.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders deserves to be stuck in this job that she clearly hates working

around people whom she clearly hates and they clearly hate her back because she's such a

disgusting and vile human being.

This is hell for her, and that is exactly what this horrible woman deserves right now.

FINALLY! Trump Just MADE A PHONE CALL To FOX NEWS Then ALL HELL Just BROKE LOOSE On DEMS(VIDEO)!!! - Duration: 13:37.

FINALLY! Trump Just MADE A PHONE CALL To FOX NEWS Then ALL HELL Just BROKE LOOSE On DEMS

thank you thank you so much for joining the fox news channel all american new

year we're live in Times Square wish you

could be here as well but we know you're in Washington DC America wants to know

mr. president what are your plans here tonight on New Year's Eve well I'm

sitting in the White House right now I'm talking to you and you know it's I think

moving along well we need border security everybody knows it we need a

lot of people approve that we can't get through the Senate we can't get them

through a Chuck Schumer in the group we have 360 people they want to join the

administration ambassadors and lawyers and lots of other people we cannot get

them approved because I guess you could call them struction if you think about

it it's pure obstruction and we have a lot of other things but we have probably

done more Pete than any administration in its first two years in history

according to most and we want to get to looking back a little you but let me

stay on the topic of that shutdown mr. president you stayed and in Washington

DC through Christmas through New Year's we've seen Nancy Pelosi in Hawaii

Democrats not willing to come back a lot of your supporters to be honest mr.

president are hoping that you will stand firm on that five billion dollar mark or

something big for the wall are you willing to continue the shutdown if that

money does not come well we are we have no choice we have to have border

security and a wall is part of border security you know I hear so much about

the wall is old-fashioned no the wall is not old-fashioned the wall is 100

percent foolproof the you look at a wheel well I guess they'd say the wheel

is old-fashioned but it's been around for a long time the wall is the only way

to do it and technology nobody knows more about technology than me but

technology are just the bells and whistles on the wall if you don't have

the wall you're gonna have people coming in and my Border Patrol people they do a

fantastic job but you know they need the back up of the wall and they're the ones

that want it more than anybody be so how far are you willing to go mr. president

when do you anticipate talks with Chuck and Nancy as you say sir well I assume

when they get back I'm in Washington I'm ready willing and able

in the white house I'm ready to go they can come over right now they could have

come over any time I spent Christmas in the White House I spent New Year's Eve

now in the White House and you know I'm here I'm ready to go it's very important

a lot of people are looking to get their paycheck and so I'm ready to go anytime

they want no we are not giving up we have to have border security and the

wall is a big part of border security the biggest part absolutely mr.

president another piece of news recently Senator Lindsey Graham emerged from the

White House he had been very critical of your decision to withdraw troops from

Syria but he emerged saying now I support the president's decision a lot

of people he's a famously more hawkish on on American troops and intervention

abroad what was said to him what did you relay inside the White House that

changed the mind of Lindsey Graham well I don't think too much except that I

said I know you know I never said that I'm gonna rush out we're gonna get out

we're getting out of Syria we're bringing our young great troops home

after so many years you know we were supposed to be in Syria for three to

four months and that was four or five years ago and it's time we have to bring

him home and we're going to do it in a very good way and frankly and you know

this better than anybody beat Isis was all over the place when I took over it

was a it was a total mess in Syria we've almost eradicated all of them we think

all of them will be gone by the time we get out but we're heading back and we're

also fighting we you can do two things that was plus as you know we have other

bases in the general area in particular we have one in Iraq that nobody said

anything about that but you know we're fighting these endless wars I campaigned

on getting out of the endless wars and frankly I've done more than I said

because not only did I and am I able to get out but I've also won you look at

what I've done we've really largely eradicated Isis now that doesn't mean we

don't totally finish the job but that's going to be a very short period of time

we have to bring our troops back home it's time certainly an accomplishment

the destruction of Isis that has not gotten enough notice no doubt mr.

president I want to transition just a little bit they really don't they really

don't and if Lindsey Graham is on board with a plan like that that's a good

I want to transition to presidential politics everyone thought 2019 would be

the year that Democrats come on to try to win the primary to take you on in

2022 sir it turns out one of them jumped the gun just news recently that

Elizabeth Warren one of your favorite senators will be announcing an

exploratory committee your reaction to your first opponent on the Democratic

side mr. president well I'm happy about it I think she'll be wonderful I hope

she maybe gets the nomination that would be a wonderful thing for me but the only

reason the Democrats as an example aren't approving all of these people

that wanted to come and want to come into government and they really do they

want to come in we really need people we need lawyers

we need ambassador's we need all these 360 people that the Democrats want to

prove or if you look at not approving the wall where they say walls don't work

when they work a hundred percent I mean when they're so good it's because of the

20/20 election they think I'm going to win I think based on record I'm going to

win also I think we're gonna win big and they figured by obstructing they can do

this Elizabeth Warren will be the first she did very badly and proving that she

is of Indian heritage that didn't work out too well I think you have more than

she does and maybe I do too and I have nothing so you know we'll see how she

does I wish her well I hope she does well I'd love to run against her she

says she's in the fight all the way mr. president do you do you really think she

believes she can win well then I don't know you'd have to ask her psychiatrist

but honestly I just you know I mean if it's her or somebody else you know based

on our record Pete when you look at what we've done when you look at the

regulation cuts when you look at the massive tax cuts when you look at what

we've done for the vets and what we've done for the military you know with the

vets we have choice and now is you know better than almost anybody I can speak

to that was phase one of choice we're going to face two and then ultimately to

phase three we're doing it in steps when you look at all of the things we've done

for building up our military and all of the things I don't think if you go just

based on the record I don't see how anybody wins we've done a lot if you

look at unemployment we're at a 50 year left for African Americans and for

Hispanics and for Asians word an old-time historical

oh the history of our country Lo and I don't know if somebody can do better

than that good luck but it just doesn't seem that based on the record somebody's

gonna do real well it's a fair point mr. president New Year's Eve tonight a lot

of our viewers it's a time for reflection you look back on 2018 you

look forward to 2019 if I could mr. president on a lighter note you're

winners and losers from 2018 who were the big winners and who were the big

losers in the last year well I think the winners are the American people because

we've gotten them tax cuts and we've gotten them jobs jobs like they've never

had before we've taken care of our military we've rebuilt large portions

and very shortly all of our military which was totally depleted under the

previous administration so I really think that the big winners are are the

people of this country the people of our country and that makes me very happy the

one that has lost you know I don't want to really say but you have certainly a

lot of people that wanted to do things that it didn't work out I think that

when you look at some of the candidates that are announcing right now I think

they will end up being the losers you got a lot of people 32 people they say

it could be with the Democrats but let's see what happens but I only I'm really

more interested in the winners and the winners are the people of the United

States absolutely sir exit question here 2019 any resolutions from You mr.

president in this new year or any predictions in the new year or both well

I think we're going to have a great forum of wealth

we've created a lot of wealth for our country and that's very important

because that means jobs it means prosperity it means we can afford to do

what we're doing with the military we're working on tremendous trade deals where

other countries have taken advantage of us so badly and I mean I campaigned on

all this stuff and really I'm producing better than I

actually said even during the campaign that I would if you look at what we've

done so I really think we're going to have tremendous success with trade deals

I think we're going to have tremendously rebuilt military for strength and

hopefully we'll have to use our military it will be so

strong that we'll never have to use it and that would be a good thing

mr. president I shouldn't I shouldn't say this but last year my resolution was

to tweet more and it's the first resolution I've actually kept do you

have any resolutions for 2019 sir any resolutions just success and prosperity

and health for our country that's all I want

absolutely well mr. president thank you so much for joining us I do have to say

my co-host Kennedy wanted to say thank you and she loves the tax cuts as do so

many Americans so Thank You mr. president for joining us and happy she's

terrific I have a great New Year's in Washington DC and we hope to see you

soon in the new year thank you sir thank you very much I really appreciate it

Pete have a great year thank you sir you too sir thank you thank you

new year same president Trump he woke up early here in the nation's capital and

again was quickly setting the tone by Twitter wishing a happy New Year to the

quote/unquote haters in fake news media equiping that people suffering from

trump derangement syndrome should just sit back and enjoy the ride because he

said good things are happening he went on to cheerlead the strong jobs market

he's presided over and tweeted out a charge that Democrats are really for

open borders however the commander-in-chief is facing

a whole new power dynamic in 2019 the partial shutdown is well into its 11th

day there's still no end in sight as Democrats prepare Thursday to officially

take control of the house and they hope to quickly pass legislation to reopen

the government on their terms none of the five billion dollars the president

is demanding for a border wall that may be why the President did try a slightly

more diplomatic approach on Twitter by the afternoon saying to Democrats

let's make a deal and the invited congressional leaders to come over

Wednesday to the White House which is where we find our correspondent Kevin

cork good evening Kevin evening Edie a stark new reality for the president and

the Trump administration this year obviously she pointed out a Democratic

controlled house to say nothing of the ongoing government shutdown partial

shutdown but that will not stop the president's plans for 2019 say White

House officials nor apparently will it stop his penchant for punching opponents

on Twitter if his new year's twitter feed were a blockbuster film president

trumps would have been a good old-fashioned good cop bad cop movie

a president content to hammer his so-called haters and all caps chiding

Democrats for ignoring all of the crime and drugs that open borders bring and at

the very same time showcasing his softer side even suggesting to one of his chief

protagonists on Capitol Hill Nancy Pelosi that the time might be ripe to

make a deal to end the government shutdown an offer manifestly rejected by

the presumptive speaker who said the president had given Democrats a great

opportunity to show how we will govern responsibly and quickly pass our plan to

end the irresponsible hashtag Trump shut down I'm ready to go they can come over

right now they could have come over any time I spent Christmas in the White

House I spent New Year's Eve now in the White House and you know I'm here I'm

ready to go ready to go is one thing but willing to compromise may yet be a

bridge too far particularly for president eager to hail border wall

funding as the latest in a string of Trump victories over the past year

including a successful Cavanaugh confirmation to the Supreme Court record

low unemployment a new USMC a trade deal to replace NAFTA the end of the Iran

nuclear deal and a dismantling of Isis that seemed the Caliphate shrink

dramatically the latter of precursor to other military moves in 2019 including a

planned and precipitous drawdown in Syria we're gonna get out we're getting

out of Syria we're bringing our young great troops home after so many years

you know we were supposed to be in Syria for three to four months and that was

four or five years ago and it's time we have to bring them home but few agenda

items will be accomplished this year including movement on major

infrastructure legislation until the government reopens putting the onus on

the President and congressional lawmakers to as the president suggested

make a deal or suffer the political fallout while everyday Americans suffer

the consequences bit of housekeeping for you add congressional leaders I have

been invited here to the White House to attend a briefing by the department of

homeland security on the border wall that briefing set for 3:00 p.m. tomorrow

afternoon although sources tell our chat program it's unclear if they'll all make

it because of holiday travel we'll be watching

waiting all the same back to you Kevin cork live at the White House thank you

Kevin thank you god bless you and God bless america

80% Of Americans Agree Trump's Border Wall Is A Complete Waste Of Money - Duration: 2:52.

So right now the federal government is currently shut down because Donald Trump wants five

point $7 billion dollars to start the construction of his border wall.

Although he did tell us a few days ago, don't call it a wall, it's actually a series of

steel slats.

And then we found out it wasn't actually steal slots, it's actually still spikes.

Um, and then he went back to calling it a wall.

So we don't even know exactly what, what he wants to build down there at the border.

But we know he wants five point $7,000,000,000 to build it.

And he shut down the federal government because he's not getting his money.

Well, anyway, bad news for the president because according to the latest polling data, a data,

only 19 percent of people in this country think that this five point $7,000,000,000

wall steel slat contraption is a good use of money.

Only night 10%.

The remaining 80%+ would like to see that five point $7,000,000,000 spent on quite literally

anything else.

But there are some specifics that people would like to see the money spent on.

Uh, the big one is healthcare more than 30%.

Actually 36% of people in this country would love to see that five point $7 billion spent

on prescription drugs for the needy, expanding health insurance to people expanding Medicaid,

medicare, getting more people insurance coverage through private insurance.

However you slice it.

36% say, oh, instead of building a wall, why don't we build up people?

Thirty percent say, you know what?

We've got roads and bridges that have been crumbling in this country for 20 years.

Maybe spend it on infrastructure.

I mean, five point 7 billion isn't going to go a super long way for infrastructure, but

it's got to repair a lot of things that could turn deadly if they're not addressed soon.

Other percentages say, how about we do Universal Pre-K?

Because that would 100% pay for all of that.

Why don't we invest in green jobs?

Why don't we invest in renewable energy?

Why don't we invest in literally anything other than a steel slatted wall with metal

spikes designed to impale anyone who tries to climb them.

And that's where the public is at today.

And to be honest, that's uplifting.

That is a positive story.

80% of the public would rather use Trump's wall money to take care of American citizens

than to lock people out of the United States.

That is actually a pretty positive note to end the year 2018 on.

Democrats Begin Hiring Lawyers For Judiciary Committee To Investigate Trump - Duration: 4:46.

According to a recent report on CNN, Democrats who are about to take over the house judiciary

committee and we'll have subpoena power, they're going to be launching a lot of investigations

into Donald Trump.

And the reason CNN comes to this conclusion is because they've actually discovered a lot

of job postings in dc for things like criminal lawyers, immigration lawyers, constitutional

lawyers, intellectual property lawyers, commercial and administrative lawyers including antitrust

and bankruptcy.

Uh, and oversight lawyers, uh, for executive branch, Investigative Council, Executive Branch,

Investigative Council, which means they want to hire a bunch of lawyers because they're

planning on launching a lot of investigations into the executive branch.

Here's the problem I have with this and this is a problem that I've mentioned many times,

so I'm going to keep mentioning it because I feel like some of these investigations would

be a complete waste of time.

The, the biggest investigation that actually needs to happen and it needs to happen on

January third when they take over.

Subpoenas need to be issued.

Day One is to find out why the hell children keep dying at the border.

Get Kirstjen Nielsen, in their maker.

Testify under oath and make her say every single thing that she knows, force her out

of office and make her pay for what has happened to these children.

Lock her up.

I don't care.

Send her to prison for the rest of her life charger with manslaughter or homicide, whatever

it is.

That's what needs to happen.

Totally cool with that investigation.

That has to happen.

Not just needs to.

It has to, but some of these other things, right?

I. I know we as as liberals, Progressives, Democrats, whatever we are, we want to see

Trump gone right there.

There's no argument there.

I think among any of us.

The problem is these people taking over the House of Representatives were elected for

a reason and that reason wasn't necessarily to launch.

Investigation after investigation into Donald Trump.

It's because people wanted solutions to the problems they face in their daily life.

Now their daily life doesn't necessarily include problems of Donald Trump's tax evasion.

It's important, but it doesn't affect them.

What does affect them is not being able to afford health insurance, not being able to

for prescription medication, not being able to afford college.

Not being able to afford pre k, those are the things we need to address and we have

to do it legislatively.

We cannot devote 100 percent of our time to investigating this guy trying to come up with

something to impeach him on the evidence is there.

We can find it and when we have time we can investigate it, but if the Democrats spend

all their time investigating and not legislating, pushing these proposals that they campaigned

on in the 2018 midterms, then they can go ahead and kiss 20 slash 20 goodbye because

yeah, majority of the public hates Donald Trump too.

We all want to see him gone, but we would rather destroy him with good policy, good

ideas, and helping the less fortunate than wasting the next two years launching investigations

that may or may not bear fruit.

We've got plenty of those going on right now that Congress doesn't even have to worry about.

Protect Mueller.

Sure.

Investigate, Kirstjen Nielsen.

Hell yeah.

That has to happen.

And after that, work on the green, new deal.

Work on medicare for all.

Give the people something to be inspired by.

We all want Trump gone, but more importantly, we want good policy coming out of Washington

dc so that two years from now, we're not sitting around without health insurance, dying of

an easily preventable illness saying, well, at least they got to impeach Donald Trump.

We would all much rather be healthy, happy, insured, and then vote the idiot out of office

and make him face rejection by the American public because that would be an even bigger

blow to his ego than impeachment would.
