The White House says President Donald Trump is open to improving the federal background

check system for gun purchases.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement Monday that Trump recently

spoke with Sen. John Cornyn about a bipartisan bill he introduced.

That legislation aimed to make the National Instant Criminal Background Check System more

effective.

The Fix NICS Act would offer financial incentives to states and federal agencies that upload

information to the federal system about people who are supposed to be banned from buying

a gun.

It was introduced last November after a shooting at a Texas church.

The suspect in the shooting was able to buy a gun because the U.S. Air Force didn't report

his past general court-martial for domestic violence.

The press secretary said:

After the Florida school shooting in February, some lawmakers, students and teachers have

all urged Trump and Congress to pass gun control legislation.

Tom Fitton: Trump Was Victimized, Targeted by FBI, Clinton Campaign, Russian Operatives,

Obama Admin and Fusion GPS (VIDEO)

Judicial Watch founder and President Tom Fitton hammered the corrupt Mueller investigation

on FOX and Friends Weekend on Saturday morning.

Tom blasted the corrupt Obama Justice Department and declared the Trump-Russia collusion investigation

over after Friday's sham announcement of the indictment of 13 Russians.

Tom Fitton calls out the corrupt Justice Department on their criminal activity against candidate

and President Trump.

Tom Fitton: At the end we have the massive Russia investigation that finds no collusion

with the Trump Campaign.

I don't understand why we are still talking about a Special Counsel investigating the

president in light of this indictment…

Look those who say the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians are going to have to start

providing evidence other than the Clinton-DNC dossier.

Look this was in the news this week.

We had the Susan Rice memo indicting Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Sally Yates, James Comey and

Susan Rice in a conspiracy to get Trump on Russia.

You had information that the number four at the Obama Justice Department, Bruce Ohr, hid

information on his relationship with the Clinton Campaign cash machine – basically Fusion

GPS that was collaborating with the Russia to launch dirt or really defamatory dirt against

President Trump into the FBI-DOJ apparatus.

And now you have this indictment of Russians abroad, an indictment that's never going

to see the light of day in short of trial because they're never going to come here.

It's never going to be tried.

We're never going to find out whether anything in the indictment's true.

And what would they rather be talking about?

This indictment where they found, despite all the king's horses and all the king's

men, not one American colluded with the Russians.

Why isn't this Justice Department looking into the abuse of the FISA process?

Look the Russians were trying to make it clear to the Clinton Camp that they had dirt on

Trump and they were going to use it against him.

And all of that was false.

And Trump was victimized and the FBI, rather than trying to protect him, used it as a pretext

working with the Clinton campaign to target him under the corrupt Obama administration.

Look this indictment shows the Russian scandal is over as far as

Trump

is concerned.

POTUS Trump BLASTS 'Very Insecure Oprah' — Urges Her To Run So She Can Be 'Exposed'

President Trump blasted Oprah Winfrey Sunday evening, saying he hopes that she runs for

the White House so she can be 'exposed,' and 'defeated.'

"Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview

a panel of people on 60 Minutes.

The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect.

Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!" tweeted

Trump

The Hill reports:

Winfrey had interviewed a group of Michigan voters for a "60 Minutes" segment that

aired Sunday night.

Half of the group had voted for Trump and the other half had not.

Speculation that Winfrey might run for president emerged after she delivered an emotional speech

at the Golden Globes last month.

However, she has denied that she was considering a presidential bid.

Trump has weighed in on a potential run by Winfrey before, saying that he didn't think

she would run but that if she did, he would beat her.

As the left continues to float their Oprah for President fantasies and the media continues

to fan the flames, it's always important to do somewhat of a reality check, reported

The Gateway Pundit's Carter.

The Central Florida Post conducted a poll with the help of Dixie Strategies, wherein

they found that president Donald Trump would "trounce" Oprah in the must-win state

of Florida.

The numbers break down as follows:

President Donald Trump would win with a whopping 47.91% to Winfrey's 23.95%, with a theoretical

third party candidate getting 14.83% and 13.31% of voters undecided.

Trump slams Oprah, hopes to see her 2020 run to 'expose and defeat'

President Donald Trump went after very insecure Oprah Winfrey on Sunday, tweeting

that he hopes to see her run for president so she can be exposed and defeated.

"Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview

a panel of people on 60 Minutes," Trump tweeted Sunday night.

"The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect.

Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!"

Winfrey appeared on CBS 60 Minutes leading a discussion with 14 people from Grand

Rapids, Mich.

Half of people from the group voted for Trump in the 2016 presidential election, the other

half did not.

The same group was interviewed on the program last year.

"One year into Donald Trump's presidency, Americans remain divided, often unwilling

to listen to what the other side has to say," Winfrey said.

Winfreys potential run for presidency was the subject of speculations following her

speech at the Golden Globes last month.

Her longtime boyfriend Stedman Graham said, It's up to the people whether she runs,

but added that she would absolutely do it."

Winfrey, for her part, denied considering a run in 2020.

She recently told CBS 60 Minutes Overtime that God has not yet told her to run for president.

If God actually wanted me to run, wouldn't God kinda tell me?

And I haven't heard that," Winfrey said.

Trump said last month that if Winfrey runs, he would beat her.

Yeah, Ill beat Oprah.

Oprah would be a lot of fun, he said, although adding that I know her very well.

I like Oprah.

I dont think shes going to run.

Trump administration pushes for stronger trade pressure - Duration: 2:34.

Washington is considering imposing more import restrictions and tariffs on foreign producers

in the name of national security.

South Korea included, meaning, local tech firms could also see trade barriers following

complaints of patent infringements.

Cha Sang-mi helps us gauge the repercussion from Trump's trade protectionist policies.

Concerns are growing over the fate of Korea's major export items in the wake of continued

global import restrictions by the United States, including recent safeguard measures against

Korean-made steel and washing machines.

The U.S. International Trade Commission on Sunday said it had already opened up a probe

into several global tech giants, including South Korea's Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix

on January 19th to look into whether the companies are infringing upon intellectual property

rights of solid-state drives.

The investigation came after a U.S. chipmaker BiTMICRO had filed a complaint against the

firms in early January.

The U.S. ITC can restrict import items under "Section 337" of the Tariff Act on allegations

of patent or trademark infringement.

As Samsung Electronics has the largest SSD market share in the U.S., with 30 percent

of the market, and SK Hynix is ranked seventh, some industry leaders see the move as a way

to target the Korean firms.

KOTRA, the Korea Trade Promotion Corporation also picked steel, home appliances, and cars

as areas that are likely to see import restrictions in the first half of 2018.

"A lot of companies are being encouraged to file anti-trade suits: anti-dumping or safeguards.

And you see a lot investigations being sued right now.

Whether it will spread to other industries than steel or automobile, it really depends

on the company."

The expert predicts requests for import restrictions in the steel and manufacturing sectors will

increase in the future not just for Korean goods, but other countries' goods as well.

The U.S. Department of Commerce urged the Trump administration last week to impose steep

tariffs and quotas on imported steel and aluminum,... including shipments from South Korea.

"Section 232" of the national security review, unveiled on Friday, suggested a range of tariff

options on imported steel and aluminum.

One of the options is a 53 percent tariff on 12 steel exporting countries including

South Korea, China and Brazil.

President Trump will decide in April which tariff option to impose.

Cha Sang-mi, Arirang News.
