President Trump Reviews

Intermediate-range ballistic missile was launched from near Pyongyang early Friday it flew over Japan so Kaito Island

Before dropping into the Pacific Japan immediately condemned the launch and said it can never tolerate this repeated

provocative action by North Korea

The international community has once again been forced to send a message of condemnation to Pyongyang over its missile launch, but the u.s.

Also, took the opportunity to again call on China and Russia to do more one jang-ho has this report

Once again the residents of hokkaido japan woke up to sirens warning of a North Korean missile flying overhead

Last month was a first time in five years that North Korea had launched a missile over Japan

Now it has happened twice in just over two weeks

Tokyo was quick to condemn these actions

North Korea has trampled over the strong will of a United international

Community to a peaceful solution as seen in the United Nations resolution the other day we absolutely cannot accept these provocations

in the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson

Released a statement condemning the launch but also pointed the finger at China and Russia to do more. He said they must indicate

They're in torrance for the reckless launches by taking direct action of their own

Noting that, China supplies, North Korea with most of its oil and that Russia is the largest employer of North Korean forced labor?

Beijing has not yet responded to lessons comments

But did express their own condemnation of the missile launch a foreign ministry spokesperson said the current situation on the Korean Peninsula is

Complicated sensitive and grave and that relevant countries must remain calm and not exacerbate the situation

The spokesperson also pledged that China would completely and rigorously perrolli out the UN sanctions on the range launch comes just days

after the UN Security Council imposed some of the harshest sanctions so far

against North Korea for its nuclear tests and its refusal to stop test firing missiles

Korean shop signs lined the streets outside the North Korean embassy in the Chinese capital of Beijing where a big construction project is underway

China has long been one of Pyongyang's biggest backers, but its actions are threatening the relationship and fueling concerns among the public

Yeah, it's dangerous. This is all happening right next door a neighbor

That is so close

North Korea has been researching and developing nuclear weapons for a long time and almost all of the international community as opposed to that effort

And yet it continues to go with own way despite all that China has done to selflessly help, North Korea. She adds

Pyongyang has done little to repay Beijing and clearly has no bottom line

China's basic position on North Korea has long been one of three knows no war no nukes and no instability

But with North Korea's repeated missile and ICBM launches as well as its latest nuclear test

Beijing has had little choice

But to join the international community in taking steps that over time could trigger instability analysts say

Support for a tougher approach is growing in China even though. There is still

Skepticism about the effectiveness of sanctions or whether kim jeong-hoon really means what he says

To Fuyumi she'll always I mean I support sanctions if they don't impact the people of North Korea that much

Sanctions and the leadership should be tougher

Yoga

The best thing would be for everyone to sit down and talk, and I think China should play a mediating role

for the Tauri

Talks with North Korea have been stalled for nearly a decade

Analysts in China say that while the United States may have wanted an all-out

embargo on oil exports the 30 percent cut is still going to have a

Significant impact and could be enough to push Pyongyang to ponder whether it should reengage

They lied VOA news Beijing

Now North Korea's missile provocation was detected almost immediately by Japan and the United States just three minutes after the launch

Japan issued a nationwide jeigh alert warning notifying its citizens and

in a swiftly organized media conference Japan's chief cabinet secretary Yoshihide

suger called Pyongyang's repeated provocations

totally unacceptable and said Tokyo would protest in the strongest possible terms

Japan's foreign minister taro kono reportedly said that given the range of the missile he thinks it was an

intercontinental ballistic

Missile now. There's been no official response from Washington yet, but the White House says President Trump has been briefed on the situation

by his chief of staff John Kerry

The US Pacific Command confirmed the launch but said it posed no threat to North America or Guam

The UN Security Council will convene a meeting on Pyongyang's missile launch on Friday

afternoon local time this comes on the heels of the UN Security Council

Resolution adopted earlier this week for the regime's sixth nuclear test

Now South Korea has convened an emergency

National Security Council meeting in response to North Korea's missile launch president moon jaein

Presided over it with his top defense and security aides the meeting

Ended less than an hour ago

But we're still awaiting details and Seoul's response to North Korea's latest provocation

This is the second time this month the fifth overall since his inauguration

The president moon has chaired a National Security Council meeting

The last time was just 12 days ago when North Korea conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test today's

illicit evasion and a thriving black market

Continued to mitigate the impact of sanctions

Intended to deprive North Korea of billions of dollars in revenue and needed components for its nuclear program

the latest round of United Nations sanctions imposed on North Korea this week for conducting its sixth nuclear test and the

restrictions put in place in August for repeated ballistic missile launches including

Intercontinental ballistic missile tests could potentially have a significant impact the Bank of Korea in Seoul says North Korea's gross domestic

product in

2016 was twenty eight point five billion dollars the August

Sanctions would cut that GDP by three billion dollars by banning coal iron lead and seafood export industries

the newest restrictions could cost another 800 million by banning textile exports and

Reductions in oil and gas imports and limits on worker permits would also cut off needed fuel and funds for North Korea's weapons

programs

David Straub is a North Korea analyst with Sejong Institute

if fully enforced I

Think that the amount of hard currency that North Korea would lose would be enough to certainly concern the leadership

Because they don't have very much hard currency

and and this would cause

significant problems for them a

Significant reduction in hard currency revenue would make it difficult for the military to purchase weapons components

And so discord between leader Kim jong-un and the elite in the country whose loyalty is bought to a degree with imported luxury goods

however if you expect these measures to be vigorously enforced as the Kim jong-un government has become adept over the years in evading sanctions and

North Korea's trading partners especially

China and Russia have been complicit in permitting illicit transactions to continue despite official support for sanctions

David Albright a nuclear proliferation analyst with the Institute for Science and International Security

Spoke at a u.s.. Congressional hearing here in Washington on Wednesday

Both countries have gotten away for far too long and have faced too few consequences

For turning a blind eye to the sanction busting business activities of their

Citizens and those of North Korea in using their economies to get around sanctions and avoid detection ships suspected of elissa

transporting North Korean coal have reportedly switched off their satellite GPS navigation devices when in Korean waters

The United States sought UN authorization to interdict ships suspected of smuggling banned items

But this measure was dropped to gain Chinese and Russian sanctions support, North Korea

Also uses trusted agents and third-party companies located in other countries to felicitate prohibited trade

Anthony Rosario is a former US Treasury Department official who is now an analyst with the foundation for defense of

Democracies and he described how North Korea and Russia tried to cover up a clandestine oil deal during his congressional testimony

A u.s.

bank would not process this transaction between

Sanctioned parties to avoid this scrutiny the front front companies were created in Singapore to obscure the nature of the transaction

allowing almost 7 million dollars in payments for this transfer

According to Bruce clinger a former CIA analyst who is now a senior research fellow at the conservative Heritage

Foundation says North Korea's trading system consists of

5000 companies that are centralized in China and run by a limited number of trusted individuals

Although the shell companies can be swiftly changed the individuals responsible for establishing and managing them have remained often for years

While there are reports of Russian smugglers exporting oil and other sanctioned goods to North Korea

Ninety percent of all North Korean trade goes through China the Chinese say

They are implementing sanctions along the border

But they had not been forthcoming and issuing clear restrictions to trading companies or in reporting how required

Inspections of all goods crossing the North Korean border are being implemented

North Korea analyst David Straub and I believe that in recent months at least the North the Chinese have not even been putting

the

statistics for oil exports to North Korea and their official records

So we really do need for China to be much more

Transparent this week China reportedly stopped some of its major state-owned banks from providing financial services

To new North Korean clients in what could be a sign of increased sanctions enforcement to prevent any u.s.?

retaliation

But sanctions advocates say that ultimately compelling full compliance from China and Russia and other countries that undermine US sanctions

Will require the United States to levy secondary sanctions trump administration has indicated it will consider secondary

sanctions if the UN sanctions are not

N. Korean leader makes unprecedented statement in response to Trump's UN address - Duration: 2:09.

The war of words between President Trump and Kim Jong-un has escalated to new levels...

with the North Korean leader making a unprecedented direct rebuke to Trump's speech at the UN

General Assembly.

Kim threatened on Friday to take the "highest level" of response to Trump's words.

Pyongyang's top diplomat has suggested that "response" might be an hydrogen bomb test

in the Pacific Ocean.

Kwon Jang-ho starts us off.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has fired back at President Trump's speech at the UN

General Assembly earlier this week.

In a statement released under his own name on state media on Friday, he condemned the

speech, saying instead of making any remarks that could have defused tensions, Trump spouted

"unprecedented rude nonsense" that caused "worldwide concern."

He called Trump "mentally deranged" and a "dotard", meaning a senile old person.

He said the U.S. President had insulted him and his country and pledged to take the "highest

level of hard-line countermeasures."

The statement is an unprecedented escalation in rhetoric.

It's believed to be the first time Kim, or his predecessors, have made a such statement

in his own name on state media.

In his UN address on Tuesday, President Trump called Kim a "Rocket Man" on a suicide mission,

and threatened that the U.S. could "totally destroy" North Korea if forced to defend itself

or its allies.

Also attending the UN General Assembly in New York is North Korea's foreign minister,

Ri Yong-ho.

When asked about what Kim could mean when he said "highest level of countermeasures",

Ri suggested it could be a detonation of a hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean, although

he added he would not know until Kim ordered it.

An ocean nuclear test would be a massive step up in provocations, especially as a test in

the Pacific would take it beyond North Korea's borders.

However, although North Korea carried out its sixth nuclear test earlier this month,

there has been no independent verification that it was a hydrogen bomb as the regime

claimed.

Trump war with North Korea could cause '25 Chernobyls' - Duration: 2:33.

Trump war with North Korea could cause '25 Chernobyls'

Konstantin Sivkov Donald Trump threatened to completely destroy the leadership of North Korea if they did not stop producing missiles. In response, Kim Jong-un threatened to "tame Donald Trump with fire" over what he saw as a "direct declaration of war".

It is also believed that his next step will be to launch his most devastating missile, the hydrogen bomb, above ground. NUCLEAR DISASTER: Trump could cause the effect of 25 Chernobyls.

But if The Donald were to retaliate and fire a missile at the Hermit Kingdom, it could cause disastrous effects felt across the world.

Russian military analyst Konstantin Sivkov said: "We must keep in mind what a strike on the DPRK may result in. "If the US decides to begin an all-out war against North Korea it will mean only one thing.

"25 nuclear reactors in South Korea will be destroyed by a retaliatory attack from the DPRK. This equates to 25 Chernobyl disasters on the Korean Peninsula." The Chernobyl disaster turned a large area of Russia into a wasteland.

It is not yet known just how many people have died from the radiation effects, but the number could rise to 4,000.

But Mr Sivkov added that this nuclear disaster could be much worse. He also said: In comparison with this, the Fukushima nuclear catastrophe would look like a firecracker.

In fact, Trump is pushing toward a nuclear collision, and it must be realised that if a nuclear strike is launched against North Korea, it is unlikely that China and Russia will stand idly by..

James Clapper Admitted That Obama Administration May Have Spied On Trump(VIDEO)! - Duration: 9:34.

James Clapper Admitted That Obama Administration May Have Spied On Trump

so good to have you on sir good evening to you director clapper

there have been so many developments in this rushed investigation and I want to

ask you first about new information I was first reported in the New York Times

tonight that special counsel Muller is asking the White House for documents

directly related to the president's actions and behavior while in office how

do you read what Mara is asking for well first on I don't have any insight based

pollinate this so on destroying inferences like everyone else's and some

extent this reminds me that metaphor about lots of wine people touching the

elephant and trying to describe the elephant I would say though that it

appears to me that the the scope of the investigation is broadening and

deepening as the requests for information as they have been reflected

in the media reporting seems to be getting more and more

pointed and more and more specific so I don't you know I don't know where this

is all going to lead I don't know if you know this is implicating a president or

not but well that's does this mean the president could be the central focus of

Mars probe well it's again the inference you could draw is that he is but you

know I don't know that I would say and I've said this some time ago when a

former director Moore was first appointed to the position of Special

Counsel that if there it is in his estimation there was no there-there he'd

say so it appears at least from what's going on there is there there and I

don't exactly know where this is going to lead well I'll also repeat something

I've said on more than one occasion is that it is so

critical that the this whole process whether in the Congress or certainly the

investigation of Special Counsel come to a conclusion that is then transparently

explained to the American people CNN also has some exclusive reporting

involving Paul Manafort president Trump's former campaign chairman

specifically that investigators got a FISA warrant to wiretap Manafort before

and man afford before and after the election what's your reaction to that

well I can't comment on specific fire order I said some things about this on

Meet the Press on the 5th of March and I stand on on that statement I can't I

can't confirm or deny I just I said let me play it and then get your just to

remind people of what you said and this is what you said to Chuck Todd this is

back in March and as you said on Meet the Press and then we'll finish up let

me start with the president's tweets yesterday this idea that maybe President

Obama ordered an illegal wiretap of his office's if something like that happened

would this be something you would be aware of well we really hope so I I

can't say obviously I'm not I can't speak officially anymore but I will say

that for the part of the national security apparatus that I oversaw as DNI

there was no such wiretap activity mounted against the president the

president-elect at the time were as a candidate or against his campaign I

can't speak for other title three authorized entities in the government or

a state or local and I would say if the FBI for instance had it fights a court

order of some sort first surveillance would that be information you would know

or not now yes you would be told that I would know that if there was a FISA

Court on something like this something like duis are absolute and at this point

you can't confirm or deny whether that exists or it can deny it

there is no FISA Court order not not to my knowledge of anything at Trump Tower

no okay so the president's allies say that

the fact that man afford was wiretap proves that the president was right to

accuse a former president of wiretapping him and you were wrong what's your

response well I again I I stand on that statement that you just replayed and I

cannot comment on the media reporting which is all we have about a FISA

warrant allegedly lodged against mr. Madoff or I I can't comment on that I

will simply reiterate what I said in March and I stand on that yeah and that

there is as far as Trump Tower being wiretapped according to the president

you're you say what I stand on what I said on the 5th of March on Meet the

Press as you just replayed it okay so did you know and I had to keep I just

wanted just for clarity because there's been a lot of reporting on this right

and people aren't on on especially those supporters of the president saying oh he

is Cruz he was proof so did you know about a FISA warrant against Paul Mann

afford at the time I did not you did not okay no and again I have to say that

what we have is media reporting only and actually commenting on you know fleiss's

are classified and so you know if I knew something about it I couldn't and I

don't and I again I will just conclude by saying I stand on what I said on the

5th of March is it possible the president was picked up in a

conversation with Paul Manafort it's it's certainly conceivable yes that

likely I can't say I I wouldn't want to go there but it I will say it's it's

it's possible okay the Washington Post is also reporting tonight that that

while Paul Manafort was working for Donald Trump he offered to privately

brief a Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska on the campaign how would the Russians

interpret that mr. clapper well obviously a you know perhaps they

would regarded perhaps as a winning accomplice again as part of their

overall campaign to interfere with the election so if they had a a were a

wedding and willing participant who would engage with them talked with them

who in their mind had some inside access or influence in the campaign which at

one point mr. Manfred certainly did I think they would view that as a a

favorable line of exploitation I have to ask you about the meeting the President

had with the in the Oval Office with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov

and the former ambassador circuitously I where a president Trump bragged about

firing Comey to the Russian saying it relieved great pressure on him people on

both sides of the aisle who grasped at these pictures are gasp I should say at

these pictures do you think that that moment will come back to haunt president

Trump well it could it's not to say that such memes are not are inappropriate I I

had personally was somewhat taken aback by that from from if no other point of

view there's just the security standpoint in light of the fact that

only Russian media media were permitted in the Oval an old warrior Russian

photographers were allowed to take pictures so I just they were closely

screened and just the the notion of this supposed solicitousness with the

Russians that has been to me at least bothersome particularly in light of the

demonstrated interference in in our in our election and it's appearing more and

more to me that the intelligibility assessment that we published in the 6th

of January may have only been perhaps the tip of

the iceberg can I ask I just want to go back to and get your response to

something because in September 2nd this president's own Justice Department said

that there was no evidence to support the president's claim that President

Barack Obama offered wiretapping of Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential

campaign again as his Justice Department said in a new court filing wouldn't the

Justice Department his Justice Department know about if there was a

fire suffice a warrant if there was any sort of wiretapping on Trump Tower yes

absolutely and I believe director Comey said much

the same thing in his testimony on March 16th before the House Select Committee

for intelligence so the president's own Justice Department came to the

conclusion after investigating that there was no wiretapping of Trump Tower

that's that's what that's that's what I draw from that yes thank you mr. Clapp I

appreciate it - Don thank you

North Korea in outrageous Trump 'barking dog' threat as WW3 tensions ESCALATE

THREAT: Donald Trump has slammed Kim Jong-un as a rocket man.

In an address on Tuesday to the UN, Trump escalated his stand-off with North Korea over its nuclear challenge. He threatened to totally destroy the country of 26 million people if the North threatened the US and its allies.

Trump also mocked its leader, Kim Jong-un, calling him a rocket man.

ANGRY: Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho said Donald Trump was a barking dog. North Koreas Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho has hit back at Trumps comments as "the sound of a dog barking.

There is a saying that goes: Even when dogs bark, the parade goes on, Ri said to reporters in front of a hotel near the UN headquarters in New York.

If (Trump) was thinking about surprising us with dog-barking sounds then he is clearly dreaming, he said.

Asked by reporters what he thought of Trump calling North Korean leader Kim Jong-un rocket man, Ri added: I feel sorry for his aides. North Korea conducted its sixth and largest nuclear test on September 3 and has launched numerous missiles this year.

These including two intercontinental ballistic missiles and two other rockets that flew over Japan.

Such provocations have sparked strong disapproval from the international community, especially from the United States and Japan. Daily Star Online revealed defence chiefs fears North Korea may strike Tokyo, Seoul or Los Angeles.

They may use their nuclear weapons if the US takes military action against Pyongyang.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has called for calm. He said the situation on the Korean peninsula was getting more serious by the day and could not be allowed to spin out of control.

We call on all parties to be calmer than calm and not let the situation escalate out of control, Wang said this morning.

BREAKING NEWS || TRUMP HAS ENOUGH TO ATTACK AND DESTROY N KOREA || USA News - Duration: 10:35.

President Trump Reviews

Never be intimidated

We will defend our people our nations and our civilization

From all who dare to threaten our way of life

this includes

the regime of North Korea

Java says North Korea has just fired off another missile believed to be one ballistic missile

It says the missile travelled eastward from Pyongyang that would send it towards upon the missile launch comes

Hours after North Korea threatened to sink Japan into the sea with a nuclear weapon which is once again shown

it's utter contempt for its neighbors and

for the entire world

community

after seeing your capabilities and

Commitment here today. I am more confident than ever that our options in

addressing this threat

are both effective and

overwhelming

As Kim jong-un's most recent missile launch demonstrates

North Korea remains one of the world's most urgent and dangerous security problems

It is vital that all nations work together to do our utmost

To solve that problem with that. I'll turn it over to ambassador hailey

Thank you very much, and I will tell you that next week is not going to be short on topics

I think first of all we can all say it is a new day at the UN

The UN has shifted over the past several months. It's not just about talking. It's about action

About a month ago this president issued a threat to North Korea

We warned of fire and fury and as you know ambassador at the UN Security Council

You can oppose tougher sanctions on North Korea both of these efforts do not seem to be changing

Their behavior is it time for the u.s.

To change its approach to North Korea

Is that something that you're contemplating a general if you could weigh on this as well I appreciate it

I think what was really important with North Korea was that we?

try and push through as many diplomatic options as we have if you look at the

Resolutions that have passed in the last month the two of them

They cut 30% of the oil they banned all the labors they ban 90 percent of the exports they banned

Joint ventures, we've basically taken and in the words of North Korea

We have strangled their economic situation at this point that's going to take a little bit of time

But it has already started to take effect

what we are seeing is they continue to be provocative they continue to be reckless and at that point you know there's not a

whole lot the Security Council is going to be able to do from here when you've cut 90 percent the trade and 30 percent of

The oil so having said that I have no problem kicking it to general mattis because I think he has plenty of options

No, just emphasize the point that ambassador Hill they made

These sanctions are just now taking effect

What's really important is rigorous enforcement of those sanctions so that we can really let the economic actions and and diplomacy?

Progress as best we can but I think we ought to make clear

What's different about this approach is is that?

we're out of time right as

ambassador Haley said before you know we've been kicking the can down the road and we're out of Road and

So for those who have said and have been

Commenting about the lack of a military option. There is a military option now

It's not what we would preferred to do so what we have to do is call on all nations

Call on everyone to do everything we can to address this global problem short of war so that is implementing now

These these significant sanctions that have just now gone into place

And it is convincing everyone to do everything that they can and that it's in their interest to do it. What's different?

I think about this approach to North Korea is worth noting first of all there is

consensus among all key nations that

Denuclearization of the peninsula is the only acceptable objective?

The second thing is this is not an issue between the United States

And and North Korea's is an issue between the world and and North Korea and the third recognition

Is there is a lot that we can do about it together?

And so so we need time obviously for any strategy to work

It is a sound approach to a very difficult problem

And we'll see if it succeeds - on North Korea obviously there's more UN Security Council action

That could be taken are you at all hopeful that there is any chance for a full oil embargo as this?

Wanted or what point President Trump himself said this was a small step the last UN Security Council vote

I think disagree with you

But a great secretary Taylor said agree with him that seemed to have been a small step

So at what point does this administration take a bigger step and for example put tougher sanctions on China?

sort of pressure on North Korea

I think first of all let's talk about what a big

Sanctions resolution this was the first one was a billion dollars this second one was one point three billion dollars

not counting the 30 percent decrease in oil we did a 55 and just imagine if this happened to the United States a

55% reduction in diesel and oil

a overall ban of natural gas overall ban of any substitutes overall ban of textiles stopping the laborer program

Which we call as modern-day slavery?

stopping all

Joint-venture so foreign investment goes in there we have cut off now 90%

of trade going into, North Korea

And they are saying that this was strength, so you know whether some believe it's big or small

I think what the president saying is this is just the beginning of what we can do so

It's going to be by the time we get going on this if we have to go further

This is gonna look small compared to what we do but no it was a massive sanctions bill

And I think the fact that we had a 15 a no record

And you have China on board and Russia on board I think that's very important

We've cut 30% of the oil is there more you can do there's always more you can do, but then you get into

The humanitarian aspect of it, which is at what point are you going and actually hurting down to the people of North Korea?

But we will always explore all options that we have

The first one is the fact that President Putin and

President Xi Jingping won't be there will it have an impact on

What the outcome of whatever you'll discuss on Syria in North Korea?

I do think that it's still gonna be strong and have an impact because you've got two very strong foreign ministers from Russia and China

That are gonna be there and the idea that we're gonna be talking about Syria and North Korea and Iran and all of those other

Things I think it'll be serious discussions

And I think the fact that President Xi and President Putin couldn't be there is not going to change the effect of what the talks

That we had next week

Going ashore that's their choice. It's not

Now just are just out onto say the UN General Assembly is not a substitute for bilateral relationships

With with in with any nations, and as you know the president's been working very closely especially with President Xi

on on this common problem and and this world problem of North Korea so those discussions will continue and

And they'll continue in the context of multilateral engagements, but but also in context of our bilateral relationship with China

For seven decades the United States Air Force has pushed the boundaries of Science and Technology

Helped restore peace and stability to troubled lands and kept Americans safe from those who threaten our

Very way of life

Nothing inspires more confidence in our friends, or strikes more fear in the hearts of our enemies

much of Europe laid in ruin the threat of global communism emerged from the void

Left by defeated foes and the free nations of the world once again looked to the United States

To secure the peace it was at this crucial moment

That America established the air force as a separate military

service and a truly great

military service and

from that moment

America has dominated both air and space

Like no other nation in history

Our air superiority is unquestioned

Not merely because we have the best equipment

But because we have the best people by far

This

Institution was founded in the aftermath of two world wars

To help shape this better future it

Was based on the vision that diverse nations could cooperate to protect their sovereignty

preserve their security and

Promote their prosperity it was in the same period exactly

Seventy years ago that the United States developed the Marshall Plan to help restore Europe

those three beautiful pillars their pillars of

peace

sovereignty

security and prosperity

The Marshall Plan was built on the noble idea that the whole world is safer when nations are strong

independent and free as

President Truman said in his message to Congress at that time our

support of

European recovery is in full accord with our support of the United Nations the

success of the United Nations depends upon the independent strength

Of

To achieve the promise of the future we must begin with the wisdom of the past

our success depends on a

coalition of strong and independent nations that embrace their sovereignty to

promote security prosperity and peace for themselves and

for the world

We do not expect

Diverse countries to share the same cultures traditions or even systems of government

But we do expect all nations to uphold these two core sovereign duties

To respect the interests of their own people and the rights of every other

sovereign nation

this is the beautiful vision of this institution, and this is the foundation for cooperation and

success

strong sovereign nations let diverse countries with different values different cultures and different

Strong sovereign nations let their people take ownership of the future and control

their own destiny and

strong sovereign nations allow individuals to flourish in the fullness of the life

intended by God

in

America we do not seek to impose

Our way of life on any one, but rather to let it shine as an example

for everyone to watch

This week gives our country a special reason to take pride in that example

We are celebrating the two hundred and thirtieth anniversary of our beloved Constitution

The oldest constitution still in use in the world today

This timeless document has been the foundation of peace

prosperity and freedom for the Americans and

For countless millions around the globe whose own countries have found inspiration in

Its respect for human nature human dignity and the rule of law

The greatest in the United States Constitution is its first three

beautiful words

They are We the People

Generations of Americans have sacrificed

to maintain the promise of those words the promise of our country and of our

great history in

America the people govern the people rule and the people are sovereign I

Was elected not to take power but to give power to the American people where it belongs in

Foreign affairs. We are renewing this founding principle of sovereignty our

Governments first duty is to its people to our

citizens to serve their needs to ensure their safety to preserve their rights and to

defend their values as

President of the United States, I will always put America first

Just like you as the leaders of your countries will always and should always

Put your country's first

All

Responsible leaders have an obligation to serve their own citizens

And the nation-state remains the best vehicle for elevating the human condition

But making a better life for our people also

requires us to work together in close harmony and unity to create a more safe and

peaceful future for all people the United States will forever be a great friend to the world and

especially to its allies

But we can no longer be taken advantage of or enter into a one-sided deal

where the United States gets nothing in return as

Long as I hold this office

I will defend America's interests above all else

But in fulfilling our obligations to our own nations

We also realize that it's in everyone's interest to seek a future where all nations can be sovereign

prosperous and secure

America does more than speak for the values expressed in the United Nations Charter

Our citizens have paid the ultimate price

To defend our freedom and the freedom of many nations

represented in this Great Hall

America's devotion is measured on the battlefields where our young men and women have fought and sacrificed

alongside of our allies

From the beaches of Europe to the deserts of the Middle East to the jungles of Asia

It is an eternal credit to the American character that even after we and our allies

Emerged victorious from the bloodiest war in history

We did not seek

territorial expansion or

Attempt to oppose and impose our way of life on others

Instead we helped build institutions such as this one to defend the Rinty

Security and Prosperity for all

for the diverse nations of the world

This is our hope

We want harmony and friendship

not conflict and strife

We are guided by outcomes not ideology

We have a policy of

principled realism rooted in shared goals

interests and values

that realism forces us to confront a question facing every leader and

Nation in this room. It is a question. We cannot escape or avoid

We will slide down the path of complacency numb to the challenges threats and even wars

That we face

or

Do we have enough strength and pride to confront those dangers today?

So that our citizens can enjoy peace and prosperity

We desire to lift up our citizens if we aspire

to the approval of history

Then we must fulfill our sovereign duties to the people we faithfully

Represent we must protect our nation's their interests and their futures we must reject

threats to sovereignty from the Ukraine to the South, China Sea

We must uphold respect for law

respect for borders and respect for culture and the peaceful

engagement these allow and

Just as the founders of this body intended. We must work together and

confront together

those who threaten us with chaos

turmoil and terror

The scourge of our planet today is a small group of rogue regimes

That violate every principle on which the United Nations is based

They respect neither their own citizens nor the sovereign rights of their countries

Kim Jong-un makes unprecedented statement at Trump as N. Korea suggests future H-bomb ... - Duration: 2:43.

North Korea's leader isn't backing down in his war of words against the President of

the United States.

Kim Jong-un threatened to take the "highest level" of response to Trump's latest rhetoric.

According to our Kwon Jang-ho, there are hints... that one possible action by the regime could

be a hydrogen bomb test in the Pacific Ocean.

The stakes in the tit-for-tat rhetoric between the U.S. and North Korea has been raised once

again.

North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un released a statement on Friday, condemning U.S. Prsident

Trump's speech at the UN General Assembly, where he threatened to "totally destroy" North

Korea if forced to defend itself or its allies.

Kim said instead of making any remarks that could have defused tensions, Trump spouted

"unprecedented rude nonsense" that caused "worldwide concern."

He called Trump "mentally deranged" and a "dotard", meaning a senile old person.

Kim said the U.S. President has insulted him and the regime and pledged to take the "highest

level of hard-line countermeasures."

The statement is an unprecedented escalation in rhetoric.

It's believed to be the first time Kim, or any of his predecessors for that matter, has

made such a statement in person on state media.

However, despite this new precedent, one expert says it didn't come as a total surprise.

(Korean - ) "Kim's grandfather and father, Kim Il-sung

and Kim Jong-il, were charismatic and had authority.

They wouldn't have dealt with this kind of situation themselves, they wouldn't have needed

to.

But Kim Jong-un's grip on authority is much weaker, so he HAS to show a strong response

to Trump's comments.

It just shows his limits."

North Korea's top diplomat, Ri Yong-ho, who is in New York for the UN General Assembly,

was asked about Kim's statement.

(Korean - YTN) "In relation to Trump's thoughtless words,

he said he would take the highest level of countermeasures.

I believe that could be a test of our most powerful hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean."

Pyongyang already carried out a nuclear test earlier this month, which it claimed to be

an H-bomb.

But a detonation in the Pacific Ocean would be considered a massive step in provocations,

especially as it would be outside of North Korea's borders.

But for now, experts are skeptical such test will come any time soon..

(Korean - ) "I believe they are technically capable of

carrying it out.

But I think it should be seen as an introduction of a new threat card on the U.S.

They are first more likely to continue test firing Hwasong-14 ICBM missiles into the Pacific,

and then later use that to make further threats about testing an H-bomb there."

Kwon Jang-ho, Arirang News.

Donald Trump - Diễn văn Liên Hiệp Quốc 72, 19/9/2017 - Duration: 41:37.

The President: Mr. Secretary General, Mr. President, world leaders, and distinguished

delegates: Welcome to New York.

It is a profound honor to stand here in my home city, as a representative of the American

people, to address the people of the world.

As millions of our citizens continue to suffer the effects of the devastating hurricanes

that have struck our country, I want to begin by expressing my appreciation to every leader

in this room who has offered assistance and aid.

The American people are strong and resilient, and they will emerge from these hardships

For more than 70 years, in times of war and peace, the leaders of nations, movements,

the enormous potential waiting to be unleashed.

We live in a time of extraordinary opportunity.

Breakthroughs in science, technology, and medicine are curing illnesses and solving

problems that prior generations thought impossible to solve.

But each day also brings news of growing dangers that threaten everything we cherish and value.

Terrorists and extremists have gathered strength and spread to every region of the planet.

Rogue regimes represented in this body not only support terrorists but threaten other

nations and their own people with the most destructive weapons known to humanity.

Authority and authoritarian powers seek to collapse the values, the systems, and alliances

that prevented conflict and tilted the world toward freedom since World War II.

International criminal networks traffic drugs, weapons, people; force dislocation and mass

migration; threaten our borders; and new forms of aggression exploit technology to menace

our citizens.

To put it simply, we meet at a time of both of immense promise and great peril.

It is entirely up to us whether we lift the world to new heights, or let it fall into

a valley of disrepair.

We have it in our power, should we so choose, to lift millions from poverty, to help our

citizens realize their dreams, and to ensure that new generations of children are raised

free from violence, hatred, and fear.

This institution was founded in the aftermath of two world wars to help shape this better

In foreign affairs, we are renewing this founding principle of sovereignty.

Our government's first duty is to its people, to our citizens -- to serve their needs, to

That realism forces us to confront a question facing every leader and nation in this room.

It is a question we cannot escape or avoid.

We will slide down the path of complacency, numb to the challenges, threats, and even

wars that we face.

Or do we have enough strength and pride to confront those dangers today, so that our

citizens can enjoy peace and prosperity tomorrow?

If we desire to lift up our citizens, if we aspire to the approval of history, then we

must fulfill our sovereign duties to the people we faithfully represent.

We must protect our nations, their interests, and their futures.

We must reject threats to sovereignty, from the Ukraine to the South China Sea.

We must uphold respect for law, respect for borders, and respect for culture, and the

peaceful engagement these allow.

And just as the founders of this body intended, we must work together and confront together

those who threaten us with chaos, turmoil, and terror.

The scourge of our planet today is a small group of rogue regimes that violate every

principle on which the United Nations is based.

They respect neither their own citizens nor the sovereign rights of their countries.

If the righteous many do not confront the wicked few, then evil will triumph.

When decent people and nations become bystanders to history, the forces of destruction only

gather power and strength.

No one has shown more contempt for other nations and for the wellbeing of their own people

than the depraved regime in North Korea.

It is responsible for the starvation deaths of millions of North Koreans, and for the

imprisonment, torture, killing, and oppression of countless more.

We were all witness to the regime's deadly abuse when an innocent American college student,

Otto Warmbier, was returned to America only to die a few days later.

We saw it in the assassination of the dictator's brother using banned nerve agents in an international

airport.

We know it kidnapped a sweet 13-year-old Japanese girl from a beach in her own country to enslave

her as a language tutor for North Korea's spies.

If this is not twisted enough, now North Korea's reckless pursuit of nuclear weapons and ballistic

missiles threatens the entire world with unthinkable loss of human life.

It is an outrage that some nations would not only trade with such a regime, but would arm,

supply, and financially support a country that imperils the world with nuclear conflict.

No nation on earth has an interest in seeing this band of criminals arm itself with nuclear

weapons and missiles.

The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its

allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.

Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime.

The United States is ready, willing and able, but hopefully this will not be necessary.

That's what the United Nations is all about; that's what the United Nations is for.

Let's see how they do.

It is time for North Korea to realize that the denuclearization is its only acceptable

future.

The United Nations Security Council recently held two unanimous 15-0 votes adopting hard-hitting

resolutions against North Korea, and I want to thank China and Russia for joining the

vote to impose sanctions, along with all of the other members of the Security Council.

Thank you to all involved.

But we must do much more.

It is time for all nations to work together to isolate the Kim regime until it ceases

its hostile behavior.

We face this decision not only in North Korea.

It is far past time for the nations of the world to confront another reckless regime

-- one that speaks openly of mass murder, vowing death to America, destruction to Israel,

and ruin for many leaders and nations in this room.

The Iranian government masks a corrupt dictatorship behind the false guise of a democracy.

It has turned a wealthy country with a rich history and culture into an economically depleted

rogue state whose chief exports are violence, bloodshed, and chaos.

The longest-suffering victims of Iran's leaders are, in fact, its own people.

Rather than use its resources to improve Iranian lives, its oil profits go to fund Hezbollah

and other terrorists that kill innocent Muslims and attack their peaceful Arab and Israeli

neighbors.

This wealth, which rightly belongs to Iran's people, also goes to shore up Bashar al-Assad's

dictatorship, fuel Yemen's civil war, and undermine peace throughout the entire Middle

East.

We cannot let a murderous regime continue these destabilizing activities while building

dangerous missiles, and we cannot abide by an agreement if it provides cover for the

eventual construction of a nuclear program.

(applause) The Iran Deal was one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United

States has ever entered into.

Frankly, that deal is an embarrassment to the United States, and I don't think you've

heard the last of it -- believe me.

It is time for the entire world to join us in demanding that Iran's government end its

pursuit of death and destruction.

It is time for the regime to free all Americans and citizens of other nations that they have

unjustly detained.

And above all, Iran's government must stop supporting terrorists, begin serving its own

people, and respect the sovereign rights of its neighbors.

The entire world understands that the good people of Iran want change, and, other than

the vast military power of the United States, that Iran's people are what their leaders

fear the most.

This is what causes the regime to restrict Internet access, tear down satellite dishes,

shoot unarmed student protestors, and imprison political reformers.

Oppressive regimes cannot endure forever, and the day will come when the Iranian people

will face a choice.

Will they continue down the path of poverty, bloodshed, and terror?

Or will the Iranian people return to the nation's proud roots as a center of civilization, culture,

and wealth where their people can be happy and prosperous once again?

The Iranian regime's support for terror is in stark contrast to the recent commitments

of many of its neighbors to fight terrorism and halt its financing.

In Saudi Arabia early last year, I was greatly honored to address the leaders of more than

50 Arab and Muslim nations.

We agreed that all responsible nations must work together to confront terrorists and the

Islamist extremism that inspires them.

We will stop radical Islamic terrorism because we cannot allow it to tear up our nation,

and indeed to tear up the entire world.

We must deny the terrorists safe haven, transit, funding, and any form of support for their

vile and sinister ideology.

We must drive them out of our nations.

It is time to expose and hold responsible those countries who support and finance terror

groups like al Qaeda, Hezbollah, the Taliban and others that slaughter innocent people.

The United States and our allies are working together throughout the Middle East to crush

the loser terrorists and stop the reemergence of safe havens they use to launch attacks

on all of our people.

Last month, I announced a new strategy for victory in the fight against this evil in

Afghanistan.

From now on, our security interests will dictate the length and scope of military operations,

not arbitrary benchmarks and timetables set up by politicians.

I have also totally changed the rules of engagement in our fight against the Taliban and other

terrorist groups.

In Syria and Iraq, we have made big gains toward lasting defeat of ISIS.

In fact, our country has achieved more against ISIS in the last eight months than it has

in many, many years combined.

We seek the de-escalation of the Syrian conflict, and a political solution that honors the will

of the Syrian people.

The actions of the criminal regime of Bashar al-Assad, including the use of chemical weapons

against his own citizens -- even innocent children -- shock the conscience of every

decent person.

No society can be safe if banned chemical weapons are allowed to spread.

That is why the United States carried out a missile strike on the airbase that launched

the attack.

We appreciate the efforts of United Nations agencies that are providing vital humanitarian

assistance in areas liberated from ISIS, and we especially thank Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon

for their role in hosting refugees from the Syrian conflict.

The United States is a compassionate nation and has spent billions and billions of dollars

in helping to support this effort.

We seek an approach to refugee resettlement that is designed to help these horribly treated

people, and which enables their eventual return to their home countries, to be part of the

rebuilding process.

For the cost of resettling one refugee in the United States, we can assist more than

10 in their home region.

Out of the goodness of our hearts, we offer financial assistance to hosting countries

in the region, and we support recent agreements of the G20 nations that will seek to host

refugees as close to their home countries as possible.

This is the safe, responsible, and humanitarian approach.

For decades, the United States has dealt with migration challenges here in the Western Hemisphere.

We have learned that, over the long term, uncontrolled migration is deeply unfair to

both the sending and the receiving countries.

For the sending countries, it reduces domestic pressure to pursue needed political and economic

reform, and drains them of the human capital necessary to motivate and implement those

reforms.

For the receiving countries, the substantial costs of uncontrolled migration are borne

overwhelmingly by low-income citizens whose concerns are often ignored by both media and

government.

I want to salute the work of the United Nations in seeking to address the problems that cause

people to flee from their homes.

The United Nations and African Union led peacekeeping missions to have invaluable contributions

in stabilizing conflicts in Africa.

The United States continues to lead the world in humanitarian assistance, including famine

prevention and relief in South Sudan, Somalia, and northern Nigeria and Yemen.

We have invested in better health and opportunity all over the world through programs like PEPFAR,

which funds AIDS relief; the President's Malaria Initiative; the Global Health Security Agenda;

the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery; and the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative,

part of our commitment to empowering women all across the globe.

We also thank -- (applause) -- we also thank the Secretary General for recognizing that

the United Nations must reform if it is to be an effective partner in confronting threats

to sovereignty, security, and prosperity.

Too often the focus of this organization has not been on results, but on bureaucracy and

process.

In some cases, states that seek to subvert this institution's noble aims have hijacked

the very systems that are supposed to advance them.

For example, it is a massive source of embarrassment to the United Nations that some governments

with egregious human rights records sit on the U.N. Human Rights Council.

The United States is one out of 193 countries in the United Nations, and yet we pay 22 percent

of the entire budget and more.

In fact, we pay far more than anybody realizes.

The United States bears an unfair cost burden, but, to be fair, if it could actually accomplish

all of its stated goals, especially the goal of peace, this investment would easily be

well worth it.

Major portions of the world are in conflict and some, in fact, are going to hell.

But the powerful people in this room, under the guidance and auspices of the United Nations,

can solve many of these vicious and complex problems.

The American people hope that one day soon the United Nations can be a much more accountable

and effective advocate for human dignity and freedom around the world.

In the meantime, we believe that no nation should have to bear a disproportionate share

of the burden, militarily or financially.

Nations of the world must take a greater role in promoting secure and prosperous societies

in their own regions.

That is why in the Western Hemisphere, the United States has stood against the corrupt

and destabilizing regime in Cuba and embraced the enduring dream of the Cuban people to

live in freedom.

My administration recently announced that we will not lift sanctions on the Cuban government

until it makes fundamental reforms.

We have also imposed tough, calibrated sanctions on the socialist Maduro regime in Venezuela,

which has brought a once thriving nation to the brink of total collapse.

The socialist dictatorship of Nicolas Maduro has inflicted terrible pain and suffering

on the good people of that country.

This corrupt regime destroyed a prosperous nation by imposing a failed ideology that

has produced poverty and misery everywhere it has been tried.

To make matters worse, Maduro has defied his own people, stealing power from their elected

representatives to preserve his disastrous rule.

The Venezuelan people are starving and their country is collapsing.

Their democratic institutions are being destroyed.

This situation is completely unacceptable and we cannot stand by and watch.

As a responsible neighbor and friend, we and all others have a goal.

That goal is to help them regain their freedom, recover their country, and restore their democracy.

I would like to thank leaders in this room for condemning the regime and providing vital

support to the Venezuelan people.

The United States has taken important steps to hold the regime accountable.

We are prepared to take further action if the government of Venezuela persists on its

path to impose authoritarian rule on the Venezuelan people.

We are fortunate to have incredibly strong and healthy trade relationships with many

of the Latin American countries gathered here today.

Our economic bond forms a critical foundation for advancing peace and prosperity for all

of our people and all of our neighbors.

I ask every country represented here today to be prepared to do more to address this

very real crisis.

We call for the full restoration of democracy and political freedoms in Venezuela.

(applause) The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented,

but that socialism has been faithfully implemented.

(applause) From the Soviet Union to Cuba to Venezuela, wherever true socialism or communism

has been adopted, it has delivered anguish and devastation and failure.

Those who preach the tenets of these discredited ideologies only contribute to the continued

suffering of the people who live under these cruel systems.

America stands with every person living under a brutal regime.

Our respect for sovereignty is also a call for action.

All people deserve a government that cares for their safety, their interests, and their

wellbeing, including their prosperity.

In America, we seek stronger ties of business and trade with all nations of good will, but

this trade must be fair and it must be reciprocal.

For too long, the American people were told that mammoth multinational trade deals, unaccountable

international tribunals, and powerful global bureaucracies were the best way to promote

their success.

But as those promises flowed, millions of jobs vanished and thousands of factories disappeared.

Others gamed the system and broke the rules.

And our great middle class, once the bedrock of American prosperity, was forgotten and

left behind, but they are forgotten no more and they will never be forgotten again.

While America will pursue cooperation and commerce with other nations, we are renewing

our commitment to the first duty of every government: the duty of our citizens.

This bond is the source of America's strength and that of every responsible nation represented

here today.

If this organization is to have any hope of successfully confronting the challenges before

us, it will depend, as President Truman said some 70 years ago, on the "independent strength

of its members."

If we are to embrace the opportunities of the future and overcome the present dangers

together, there can be no substitute for strong, sovereign, and independent nations -- nations

that are rooted in their histories and invested in their destinies; nations that seek allies

to befriend, not enemies to conquer; and most important of all, nations that are home to

patriots, to men and women who are willing to sacrifice for their countries, their fellow

citizens, and for all that is best in the human spirit.

In remembering the great victory that led to this body's founding, we must never forget

that those heroes who fought against evil also fought for the nations that they loved.

Patriotism led the Poles to die to save Poland, the French to fight for a free France, and

the Brits to stand strong for Britain.

Today, if we do not invest ourselves, our hearts, and our minds in our nations, if we

will not build strong families, safe communities, and healthy societies for ourselves, no one

can do it for us.

We cannot wait for someone else, for faraway countries or far-off bureaucrats -- we can't

do it.

We must solve our problems, to build our prosperity, to secure our futures, or we will be vulnerable

to decay, domination, and defeat.

The true question for the United Nations today, for people all over the world who hope for

better lives for themselves and their children, is a basic one: Are we still patriots?

Do we love our nations enough to protect their sovereignty and to take ownership of their

futures?

Do we revere them enough to defend their interests, preserve their cultures, and ensure a peaceful

world for their citizens?

One of the greatest American patriots, John Adams, wrote that the American Revolution

was "effected before the war commenced.

The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people."

That was the moment when America awoke, when we looked around and understood that we were

a nation.

We realized who we were, what we valued, and what we would give our lives to defend.

From its very first moments, the American story is the story of what is possible when

people take ownership of their future.

The United States of America has been among the greatest forces for good in the history

of the world, and the greatest defenders of sovereignty, security, and prosperity for

all.

Now we are calling for a great reawakening of nations, for the revival of their spirits,

their pride, their people, and their patriotism.

History is asking us whether we are up to the task.

Our answer will be a renewal of will, a rediscovery of resolve, and a rebirth of devotion.

We need to defeat the enemies of humanity and unlock the potential of life itself.

Our hope is a word and -- world of proud, independent nations that embrace their duties,

seek friendship, respect others, and make common cause in the greatest shared interest

of all: a future of dignity and peace for the people of this wonderful Earth.

This is the true vision of the United Nations, the ancient wish of every people, and the

deepest yearning that lives inside every sacred soul.

So let this be our mission, and let this be our message to the world: We will fight together,

sacrifice together, and stand together for peace, for freedom, for justice, for family,

for humanity, and for the almighty God who made us all.

Thank you.

God bless you.

God bless the nations of the world.

And God bless the United States of America.

Thank you very much.
