Nikki Haley Says Trump's Rocket Man Nickname 'Worked'

America's UN Ambassador Nikki hailey ambassador Haley thank you for joining

us this morning you've heard some of that reaction to the President's speech

yesterday especially those words about North Korea the people John quoted right

there the European foreign minister European Union's foreign minister said

we never talked about destroying countries how do you respond to that

well I think what you saw yesterday from the president was he was being honest I

know that you know people in countries don't want to hear it but here is a man

who continues to test ballistic missiles he continues to test now hydrogen bombs

he continues to threaten our allies he says he's going to destroy the United

States to ashes he says he's going to continue to send us gift packages to the

United States so if you want to talk about who's been giving the threats it's

certainly been the Kim regime what we are saying is we have exhausted every

diplomatic means and we are going to continue to do that while he is being

irresponsible we're going to be responsible but we've tried to do

dialogue we've now tried to do sanctions and the international community actually

very much appreciated the blunt honest approach that the president took on

North Korea as well as honoring the president also said that

denuclearization is the only acceptable outcome for North Korea so does that

mean that the United States is going to destroy North Korea's nuclear weapons if

Kim jong-un doesn't give them up what it means is he needs to stop he needs to

stop with the hydrogen bomb testing he needs to stop with the threats he needs

to stop with the ballistic but does he need to give up the way that we can

actually have a regular conversation does he need to give up the weapons yes

he does not need to be a nuclear power he has shown in every way why he would

be an irresponsible nuclear power and no one in the international community wants

to see that happen do you think it's appropriate to use a term like Rocket

Man to talk about a leader of another country who's got nuclear weapons well

I'll tell you George it worked I was talking to a president of an African

country yesterday and he actually cited Rocketman back to me so I will tell you

that look this is a way of like you know getting people to talk about him but

every other international community now is referring to him as Rocket Man and on

the issue of Iran the other the Iran nuclear agreement

is the president prepared to break that agreement even if our European allies

say we shouldn't I think the president's just looking at the situation and what

he sees is while the one part of the nuclear deal is what everybody seems to

talk about the other side of US law says that Iran is actually in violation of

ballistic missile testing of arms sales to terrorists and of support of

terrorists and so if you look at this we have to call out the wrongs that we see

if we don't call them out we will have another North Korea and so what he is

saying is everybody has to stop tiptoeing around Iran who they're all

worried is going to get out of the deal and acknowledge these harmful things

they're doing across the globe and call them out for it

ambassador hailey thanks for time this morning thanks so much

U.S. envoy to UN defends Trump's Kim Jong-un 'Rocket Man' remark - Duration: 1:42.

Defending President Trump,.. Washington's envoy to the United Nations is standing with

her boss over his outspoken verbal attack on North Korea during his first appearance

at the UN General Assembly.

Nikki Haley insists Trump's branding of the North Korean leader has worked,... and says

other world leaders also believe Kim Jong-un is behaving extremely recklessly.

Kim Hyo-sun reports.

The U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, has defended President Trump's first address

to the UN General Assembly, in which he referred to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un as "Rocket

Man."

Speaking with ABC News on Wednesday,... Haley said this is how the international community

is referring to the North's leader.

In an interview with CBS the same day,... Haley also said President Trump does not want

a war,... stressing that Washington will not give up on diplomacy.

Her comments come after President Trump warned the North of "total destruction" in his UN

speech.

Trump's strong rhetoric against North Korea underscores his administration's strong determination

to tackle the regime's nuclear issue.

Referring to his UN address as the strongest level of rhetoric,... analysts say it could

mean more than a simple warning.

Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis has hinted that it's time to prepare for military

options against Pyongyang,... amid the diplomatic efforts exerted to resolve the standoff.

Speaking at an annual conference of the U.S. Air Force Association,... Mattis said Washington

needs to face the somber reality that military action could be necessary if diplomacy fails.

Trump's Mind-Boggling Military Budget - Duration: 1:31.

The Senate has overwhelmingly approved an $80 billion annual increase in military spending.

It's a mind-boggling sum that's almost double what Trump requested.

That $80 billion could have paid the entire cost of:

1) Free public colleges and universities as proposed by Bernie Sanders.

2) Expanding Medicaid in five states -- Colorado, Minnesota, Nevada, West Virginia, and Iowa.

3) Universal Preschool 4) Extending broadband Internet access to

rural America.

Naysayers always claim we can't afford to invest in education, heath care, and infrastructure.

So why can we afford to spend the same amount on buying weapons?

It's a matter of priorities.

America's military budget is already bigger than the next seven biggest military spenders

combined.

With this $80 billion increase, the United States would spend more than the next ten

combined.

If we invested this in our people -- our education, our health care, our roads and bridges -- we'd

be strengthening America.

Spending it on more bombs and military machinery funnels money away from our people and into

foreign wars, weakening America over the long-term.

Iran President Hassan Rouhani JUST Gave Trump Bad News(VIDEO)!!! - Duration: 5:42.

Iran President Hassan Rouhani JUST Gave Trump Bad News

Iran's president says it would be a pity if it's nuclear deal with the West is

destroyed by what he calls rogue newcomers that's a reference of course

to President Trump who Monday blistered the deal in a speech to the United

Nations General Assembly and now says he has made up in his mind on whether the

US will leave it senior correspond the Eric Shan is

outside the UN tonight leaving Eric good evening Brett a new threat tonight

from our Iranian president Hassan rouhani he tweeted that if the u.s.

withdraws from the nuclear agreement Iran may resume its Iranian enrichment

but he says as far as nuclear weapons are concerned that's no option it's all

part of the delicate diplomatic dance in the increasing standoff between the u.s.

and Iran here at the UN today was Iranian president Hassan rouhani's

chance to return president Trump's volley that Iran was a murderous

repressive regime adhabi yoga jaw he Lonnie the ignorant absurd and hateful

rhetoric filled with ridiculously baseless allegations that was uttered

before this august body yesterday he was not only unfit to be heard at the United

Nations but indeed contradicted the demands of our nations from this world

body to bring governments together he insisted his nation is abiding by the

Iranian nuclear agreement and again denied his country wants a nuclear bomb

he said since the pact has the support of the international community

it should not be abandoned by one nation the US and he said that with another dig

at the White House I'd add in tomahawk with us it will be a

great pity if this agreement were to be destroyed by rogue newcomers to the

world of politics but the Trump administration is gunning for the

agreements sunset clause that ends restrictions on Iran's nuclear program

in about a decade critics say that will pave the way for

Tehran to develop nuclear weapons in his interview with Bret Baier last night

Sacre State Rex Tillerson warned of that very

prospect the agreement comes to an end and so we can almost start the countdown

clock is that when they will resume their nuclear weapons capability trump

would not say what he will do but did say he has made a decision on whether to

scrap the so-called jcpoa the Iran nuclear deal as a candidate president

Trump promised he would cancel the Iran deal but his administration has

recertified it twice and faces another 90 day renewal in October in his speech

to the United Nations General Assembly yesterday the president ripped the

agreement and seemed to suggest changes could be forthcoming frankly that deal

is an embarrassment to the United States and I don't think you've heard the last

of it believe me Bulgaria's president a fan of president

Trump's election but who was also close to Iran ally Russia today urged the

White House to stick with the deal my country reiterates its full support for

joint comprehensive plan of action members of the president's

administration the Secretary of State and national security adviser among them

are also urging the president not to scrap the agreement but an

administration source tells Fox News that doesn't mean the president can't

take other actions against Iran such as tough new sanctions for its support of

terrorism and other destabilizing activities president Trump also kept up

the push for Middle East peace today meeting with the Palestinian President

and Jordan's King Abdullah as he did with Israel's prime minister yesterday

the president said he is trying hard to attain the so far unattainable a very

important juncture there's a small period of time and we're going to see

what we can do there could be no problem with this obviously so many people have

talked about it and it's never happened but we were fighting very hard

as rouhani spoke inside the UN Iranian opposition groups held a massive

demonstration against him across the street they denounced both his

appearance here and the nuclear deal nothing about the atrocious aggressive

extremist behavior of Iran has changed president Trump sees that all other

voices are calling for opening up the agreement French president Emmanuel

macron says it should include ballistic missiles it now does not and a one hour

from now that p5 plus Germany will be meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister

Javad Zarif as you know Zarif negotiated the agreement with Obama Secretary of

State John Kerry but in 60 minutes from now Zarif will be sitting across the

table from Rex Tillerson a different Secretary of State who tonight will

bring Zarif a different message president Trump got some backup to the

policies he articulated in his speech to the United Nations General Assembly

yesterday from UK prime minister Theresa May who in her speech today urged the

United Nations to band together to rein in North Korea's nuclear program and

then in a shocker threatened to withhold 30 percent of the UK's contribution to

the UN unless the world body undertake some much-needed reforms

V!VA: What did we learn from Trump's 1st speech at the UN? - Duration: 3:43.

Welcome to V!VA The United Nations General Assembly is under way right now

at the U.N. building in New York The highlight of course is U.S. President Donald Trump giving his

speech yesterday. In it, he carries his condescending nicknames of his political foes

The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies

we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.

'Rocket man' is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime

He has called Kim Jong Un "Rocket Man" on twitter before

But using the sacred podium of the UN General Assembly, this time the name calling is carrying a different weight

This was a combative speech

Trump called out countries like Syria, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea and others out

He chided them. He has also called out other countries for not doing enough to combat terrorism

Not doing enough in contributing to global agencies, and not doing enough to preserve the security

of the rest of the world He did not do what is expected of a world leader at the U.N.

He blamed other countries for failing to live up to their responsibilities

Instead of inspiring others to cooperate, he sought to divide

Instead of igniting the spirit of collaboration, he decided to be...

well himself

Can't say that I was disappointed And neither was Tun Mahathir actually

And what he (US President Donald Trump) does one day, changes 180 degrees the next day

For example, in Syria he said he will not be active. But the moment gas was used, he fired rockets

Tan Sri Nor Yakcop is gone from Khazanah

After the 1998 financial crisis, Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop became known

as the architect of Malaysia's corporate transformation

He's now gone from Khazanah as he tendered his resignation from that body yesterday

Khazanah said Tan Sri Nor's resignation as deputy chairman was accepted at the board meeting and would

take effect from Sept 30. Nor Yakcop was hogging the limelight recently

when he was named as the dealer responsible for the foreign-exchange losses chalked up by Bank Negara in the 1990s

Hard to ignore of the timing of him resigning

and the fact that he was just recently asked to testify about the forex losses

Speaking of Bank Negara... Bank Negara Malaysia says the  article published by Bloomberg entitled

"Malaysia Reserve Buffer Seen by Moody's as Among Weakest in Asia"

that was published on  Sept 18, 2017 focuses on only a rigid interpretation of two economic indicators

and BNM says that it presents an unbalanced and simplistic assessment of the country's international reserves adequacy

Responding to the article, it said the reporting by Bloomberg reflected a lack of understanding of the Malaysian economy

We'll wait and see how Bloomberg responds
