- president Trump prepares for the 2018 NATO summit next week remember this when
he said this last year he put the world leaders on notice they got to get their
act together NATO members must finally contribute their fair share and meet
their financial obligations over the last eight years the United States spent
more on defense than all other NATO countries combined well this year's
message no different as Trump declares again that the US will not be the
world's piggy bank so what other America first messages
does the president need to send or does he have to talk about unification as
successful NATO's been for the last 60 70 years the American he's co-chairman
of the american conservative union match slapped to weigh in matt interesting the
president really has pushed nato to step up and modernize and believe it or not
they have but he's also really focused on who's press spending 2% of the GDP on
defense where does he draw the line between I like the improvement but
you're not there yet look this has been an unmitigated success for president
Trump he has made a huge difference within the NATO alliance we have big
progress on spending but I think Brian he could be a victim of the fact that
there's so much progress still to be made but there's been a tremendous
amount of change in progress that has been made simply because he stood up and
broke this consensus this consensus that yeah will all work together as an
alliance but America the American taxpayer will pick up all the bills yeah
there is a huge development there in that since the president took over they
have developed a substantial NATO Force to deploy within 30 days the Allies have
all spent more on their defense they also focus on cyber threats as one unit
and we know what they've done in the past in Iraq and Afghanistan as the
threats have spread out and they've also reaffirmed their commitment because of
the spread and the aggression of Russia but Matt in the end knowing that the
president's going to see Russia is important to spend two-thirds of the
time talking about the success in NATO
one-third about where they need to go so you go into Russia knowing that the
Western free world is behind you as you sit down with Vladimir Putin is that
important to you yeah I think absolutely and I think it would be better this time
with this NATO meeting that they send a message that they support Donald Trump
in his desire to work with but be tough with Putin what did not happen with the
g7 Bryan is that our allies seem to almost want to hobble and hurt President
Trump as he was ready to jump a plane and go have this historic summit in
North Korea I want these allies to help America when America is taking bold
steps to bring peace to the globe and too many times it looks like they're out
to get us and we're paying all the bills July 6th with tariffs start going into
play and China and other nations how important is it to be talking along the
way what do you think the results gonna be well I think the same thing is true
here which is it's very important for President Trump to stand up and break
the consensus all the smart people said this is the way you have to conduct a
trade policy and what and the same thing he's doing with making sure there's
burden-sharing and proper payments with NATO allies
when it comes to trade America shouldn't be a sucker anymore
we shouldn't have to take it in the shorts because they love tariffs and
we've been soft on tariffs he simply wants reciprocity and the American
worker pays the bill when I don't get better deals and so I think that this

she has an interesting religious group that for example labels heads of
household the men the heads the women the handmaidens so are they using the
Supreme Court to play identity politics here to debate we've got Fox News

Monday David well look I mean I think this is an incredibly important
appointment as we know and this is someone who is in her 40s could be there
for 40 years and so I think it is important that people understand every
aspect of her including her faith well then what is it about her faith you
don't like well look I think it is important there are some things out
there about the group that she's part of that you know but it's not a well-known
group this group people people of praise right and so I think it's important for
people to understand so you should be able to answer these questions I don't
think anyone should be unfairly attacked for their beliefs whether they're
Catholic or whether there's any other religion I mean being a devout Catholic
should not disqualify her of course not we have plenty of devout Catholic Joe
Biden Tim Kaine you know that on the Democratic side you know people said
this about Kennedy years ago they were afraid he was going to have a direct
line to the Pope and people use that too spread fear about Kennedy we've been
doing this for some time David well I mean let's look at this it's nice to say
they shouldn't but here's the reality they will I remember Judge Bork for
example what was done to him I remember Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill who's
going to be the Anita Hill for whatever justice is nominated by the president
you hear it there in this in the SOT we played before we started the segment
this is what they're going to do they're gonna attack her Catholic faith they're
gonna attack anything about her and if it's a man they're gonna attack
something about him the left has lost the ability in too many ways to have any
form any sense of let's examine somebody's background I like somebody
with the judicial record for better or worse so we can look at their record
because you can at least see what they've written in their opinions they
don't care about that that would be a fair examination to say how they ruled
how they've written on a certain interpretation of law but that's all
what we've heard so far they're putting together opposition research based on ad
hominem attacks and that is actually one of the reasons many Americans have
turned around and said to the America the Democrats to the leftist movement
within Democrat Party we no longer want you in charge and David it is true the
Oppo research is floating around there and usually you don't hear about it
until after the nomination is actually announced but I think the plan on the on
the political left is let's blow them up now as best we can so that the president
will go I got to pick somebody else well I think that I think this president will
actually be emboldened by the by the criticism of this of this candidate so I
wouldn't necessarily think that that if that's the plan it'll work but I do
think the look the left has a serious issue with the base here who does not
want to see them take this take this fight sitting down and they have to be
extremely cognizant of that as they as they go into this fight they can't just
they can't be seen as you know even at this stage this early letting these
people go through and David you you know as well politically the president needs
some Democrats to come over and he got three with a judge Gorsuch there are six
Democrat senators who live in states that Trump won
president with significant amounts and then it's gonna apply so much pressure
to them because he wants it's all sewed up before the midterms which would make
them very vulnerable no I agree with David on this respect the real pressures
within the Democrat Party if you look at Alexandria Cortes versus Chuck Schumer
and Nancy Pelosi the party's imploding because she's begun to raise money for
other progressive candidates so that's driving their party in their narrative
so those Democrats in those ten vulnerable states what are they going to
do they're going to have to go along with who controls the money and that's
in Pelosi's hands in the end the president's gonna get his pick the left
has to decide right how much they want to lose in this fight going forward all
right well we'll know the name officially on Monday

we were walking in and he was walking out so that does he have a follow
applying to mercy very pretty see whose it mm-hmm

let's talk about what the president's going to be doing today he's going to
Montana not because it's a beautiful place and it is it's because there's a
vulnerable seat for Democrats and it's John tester the president's not a fan of
his especially where after he went after Ronnie Jackson who was going to be the
next VA secretary on his alleged drinking and pill-popping
according to senator test who didn't find who was going after
camera after camera to make sure he didn't get that position not to mention
he's a Democrat president you know obviously Republican and he wants Matt
Rosendale to get that position or get that post and Congressman Greg Jian 40
is also out there in Montana and he wants him to get reelected so what can
the people of Montana expect tonight well here's the president a couple of
months ago taking a shot at John tester senator Jon Tester of a really great
place Montana who voted by the way in favor of sanctuary cities whose weak on
the border didn't vote for tax cuts what they said about this great American
doctor Ronnie Jackson an admiral in the Navy and tester started throwing out
things that he's heard well I know things about tester that I could say too
and if I said him he'd never be elected again
so I think that's going to be a pretty good preview of what the president's
going to be doing between now and the midterm elections he's going to go out
to all these states where there are vulnerable Democrats and he's gonna
rally the base and he's gonna give those candidates about a half a dozen sound
bites that they can run non-stop in TV ads and on social media until well this
would be testers third term and he is a Democrat the president won by 20 points
in that state in 2016 so that tells you a lot about the state but you were
saying I was saying that if Ryan Zeki didn't become Secretary of the Interior
he would have been going for this seat and he probably would have been favored
to take it would tester has as his advantage he's a farmer and he relates
to a lot of people in the agricultural rural communities but what they have now
Rosa Dell he's got to go sell tests his voting record interesting the Supreme
Court justice will probably be up in this fall
well test her go ahead and his last big vote will he remind the people of
Montana that he sided with the president or remind the people of Montana that he
never sides with the president where he goes on this it's a lot of pressure to
do that the president's gonna be meeting with people in the agricultural
community out there to try to convince them even though tester is a farmer and
he's also gonna meet with small business owners
anyway I think John testers ears are gonna be ringing tonight right just
she's not gonna be in the state there you go my family we tried to go Tomatoes
every year and we didn't get him so November was probably like two or three
maybe yeah that's all you go for and then we just rip them off and put them
in the Sun and hope they ripen that was like those Tomatoes yeah we scored
tomatoes whose cut what does that have to do he's a farmer he's no but I mean
if you were the Agri coach you can grow anything and that really it depends on
