Trump newly undercuts top U.S. intelligence chief on Russia  President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the Russian government is no longer trying to meddle in U

S. elections, contradicting his director of national intelligence, who has said that Kremlin-ordered attacks are ongoing

 In response to a shouted question from a reporter as to whether Russia was still targeting the U

S., Trump shook his head and said "no." He quickly followed with a brief monologue arguing that his administration has been tougher on Russia than any of its predecessors and that "President Putin knows that better than anybody, certainly better than the media

"  At her Wednesday press briefing, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders denied that the president had said Russia is no longer attacking the U

S. but that he instead had been saying "no" to taking additional questions from reporters

She said the White House believes the threat of Russian election interference remains

 "The president said thank you very much and was saying 'no' to answering questions," Sanders said, despite the fact that Trump kept on talking to reporters after the exchange

"The president and his administration are working very hard to make sure that Russia is unable to meddle in our elections as they have done in the past and as we have stated

"  Pressed by MSNBC reporter Hallie Jackson on the president's earlier exchange with reporters, Sanders said that she had spoken to the president about his remark and that he was not answering a reporter's question when he said "no

" The press secretary insisted that she was not walking back the president's comments, telling reporters, "I'm interpreting what the president said

 The president's assertion that Russia's is no longer launching attacks against the U

S. contradicts remarks from Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, who said last month that "it is 2018, and we continue to see Russian targeting of American society in ways that could affect our midterm elections

"  The Office of the Director of National Intelligence did not immediately respond to a request for comment

 It was the second time in as many days that the White House has sought to argue that the president either did not say or did not mean something that he was clearly captured on video saying

Trump has come under withering criticism over the last 48 hours over his remarks at a bilateral press conference on Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, where the U

S. president said "I don't see any reason" why Russia "would" be behind 2016 cyberattacks intended to impact that year's U

S. presidential election.  Trump's willingness to accept Putin's denial that the Kremlin had been involved over the assessment of his own intelligence agencies prompted a tidal wave of rebukes, which in turn pushed Trump to take a rare step — admitting a mistake — on Tuesday when he told reporters that he had meant to say that he saw no reason why Russia "wouldn't" have been behind the 2016 attacks

 It's also not the first time that Trump has directly undercut Coats in recent days

 In an interview with CBS News on Saturday, Trump said he doesn't know if he agrees with a warning from Coats that the U

S. digital infrastructure is vulnerable to a large-scale attack.  "Well, I — I don't know if I agree with that

I'd have to look. But I have a lot of respect for Dan," Trump said. "And that's where he is, and that's what he does

 "The role of the Intelligence Community is to provide the best information and fact-based assessments possible for the president and policymakers," said Coats, who took over as U

S. director of national intelligence in March 2017. "We have been clear in our assessments of Russian meddling in the 2016 election and their ongoing, pervasive efforts to undermine our democracy, and we will continue to provide unvarnished and objective intelligence in support of our national security

"  Coats also has had a rocky history with Trump. It was reported in June 2017 that Coats had told associates that Trump asked him if he could help get then-FBI Director James Comey to back off the agency's investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn

 Coats reportedly decided that such an action would be inappropriate.

It has taken far too long but finally, the Justice Department says they've given House

Republicans a treasure trove of documents that should worry Hillary Clinton.

The former Secretary of State has been under investigation regarding her personal emails

and possible connection to Russia, but the probe has gone painfully slowly.

Now, however, the DOJ has been forced to comply with subpoenas from the House Intelligence

and Judiciary committees, according to House Speaker Paul Ryan.

And if the documents in question hold evidence Hillary doesn't want them to have, she could

be in very big trouble.

Even so, it appears Republicans are going to have to keep working to get every last

piece.

Ryan's spokeswoman AshLee Strong

"Our efforts have resulted in the committees finally getting access to information that

was sought months ago, but some important requests remain to be completed.

"Additional time has been requested for the outstanding items and based on our understanding

of the process we believe that request is reasonable.

We expect the department to meet its full obligations to the two committees."

The first step, however, is done.

It took forever because Democrats were dragging their feet; they were saying that the documents

were "designed to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the

Trump campaign's alleged Russia ties."

Actually, no, this is about getting at the truth of what Hillary and her cohorts did

while in office.

Furthermore, Republicans are seeking information on the FBI and whether or not they spied on

his campaign while Barack Obama was president.

And that effort, too, has seen movement.

Rep. Devin Nunes has apparently received a classified letter from the DOJ discussing

"confidential human sources" the FBI was using.

Nunes doesn't believe the FBI was singling Trump out, though.

He said in a statement:

"I am even more convinced that the FBI did exactly what my fellow citizens would want

them to do when they got the information they got, and that it has nothing to do with Donald

Trump."

But here's the bottom line:

Things are starting to come to light and Hillary and other Democrats can no longer stop this

from happening.

It's not a guarantee that the submitted documents contain incriminating evidence but

considering how hard Dems worked to keep this information from getting out, we can make

some assumptions.

Maybe crooked Hillary is finally going to get what's coming

But now one of Bourdain's final interviews has been released — a brief reappearance of the honest voice that made him beloved both on the screen and page

 On Sunday, the online magazine Popula published a long, wide-ranging discussion between the CNN star and journalist Maria Bustillos

The conversation, which happened in February, darts around from Bourdain's thoughts on usual topics such as travel and local customs to his relationship with girlfriend Asia Argento and the #MeToo movement

Bourdain also tackled the current political state, unleashing his thoughts not only on President Trump and his supporters but on President Barack Obama and President Bill Clinton's "gropey, grabby, disgusting" behavior surrounding the Monica Lewinsky scandal, particularly looking at the case from the hindsight of the #MeToo movement

Both Bill and Hillary Clinton, according to Bourdain, were guilty of discrediting the president's accusers

"I would never under any circumstances vote for Bill Clinton today," he told Bustillos

"But I think impeaching the guy over Lewinsky was ridiculous. Particularly given today

It was the shaming, discrediting, undermining the women that made both of them unsuitable for any future endeavors

I don't think they should've pulled him from office." He continued: "But the way they efficiently dismantled, destroyed and shamelessly discredited these women for speaking their truth

Trenga didn't view President Trump's campaign rhetoric about a "Muslim ban" as being

negative and is not anything like Hawaiian Judge Derrick Watson presented it.

Judge Trenga's view is much more rational than the one of Judge Watson's.

Reports indicate that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly wanted Porter to "stay

and fight."

"It's beyond disbelief.

Everyone is trying to figure out why Kelly is leading the charge to save him," said

one former White House official.

Kelly issued a defiant statement when the White House was first asked to comment on

this.

"Rob Porter is a man of true integrity and honor, and I can't say enough good things

about him.

He is a friend, a confidante and a trusted professional," Kelly said.

"I am proud to serve alongside him."

Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch, Porter's former employer, issued a statement on Tuesday slamming the

"vile attack" on Porter.

The senator called it "incredibly discouraging to see such a vile attack on such a decent

man.

morally bankrupt character assassins that would attempt to sully a man's good name."

However, both Kelly and Hatch backtracked after Porter's first wife Colbie Holderness

released a photo of herself with a black guy she claims her former husband gave her.

Kelly said he was "shocked" by the new allegations while Hatch said that he was "heartbroken."

"I was shocked by the new allegations released today against Rob Porter.

There is no place for domestic violence in our society,' Kelly said.

"I stand by my previous comments of the Rob Porter that I have come to know since

becoming Chief of Staff, and believe every individual deserves the right to defend their

reputation.

I accepted his resignation earlier today, and will ensure

a swift and orderly transition."

Jeff Sessions Prosecutes Obama-era FBI Agent For Leaking Classified Info

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has prosecuted an Obama-era FBI agent for leaking classified

intelligence to the media.

The Department of Justice filed criminal charges in Minnesota, accusing former FBI agent Terry

James Albury of illegally disclosing national defense information to The Intercept.

Albury is accused of sharing a document "relating to threats posed by certain individuals from

a particular Middle Eastern country" with The Intercept.

Theblaze.com reports: A second charge said that he refused to produce a document "relating

to the use of an online platform for recruitment by a specific terrorist group."

What does the agent say about the charges?

Lawyers for Albury said in a statement that he would take responsibility

for his actions, but offered a hint of his motivation for leaking the documents.

"Terry Albury served the U.S. with distinction both here at home and abroad in Iraq," the

statement read.

"He accepts full responsibility for the conduct set forth in the Information."

"We would like to add that as the only African-American FBI field agent in Minnesota, Mr. Albury's

actions were driven by a conscientious commitment to long-term national security and addressing

the well-documented systemic biases within the FBI," the statement said.

What does The Intercept say about the charges?

Betsy Reed, the editor-in-chief of The Intercept, published a statement about the charges on

its website.

"We do not discuss anonymous sources," she wrote.

"The use of the Espionage Act to prosecute whistleblowers seeking to shed light on matters

of vital public concern is an outrage, and all journalists have the right under the First

Amendment to report these stories."

How did they catch the alleged leaker?

The Star Tribune explained the methods the FBI used to catch Albury.

According to previously sealed search warrant applications in the case executed last August,

the FBI eventually linked references to secret documents in federal Freedom of Information

Act (FOIA) requests filed by the Intercept in March 2016 to Albury's activity on the

FBI's information systems.

…The FBI also identified a gray highlight across a row of text of the August 2011 document

that is not present in the original document.

Investigators also confirmed that Albury conducted "cut and paste" activity on

that document and printed the copy a month before the Intercept's FOIA requests.

He also allegedly accessed about a half dozen other secret documents referenced in the requests,

at least one of which was later published online.

The charges also indicated that the former agent allegedly photographed intelligence

documents with a digital camera.

Albury is

the second alleged

leaker charged for spilling state secrets to The Intercept.

In June 2017, NSA contractor Reality Winner was arrested for similar leaks to

the same news outlet.

The Intercept was ridiculed on social media at the time for apparently not protecting

their sources enough.

'Rogue anonymous sources'

Attorney General Jeff Sessions had said

in August 2017 that

the Department of Justice was drastically increasing its investigations into intelligence

leaks.

"We will not allow rogue anonymous sources with security clearances to sell out our country

any longer," Sessions said at the time.

Republicans have long maintained that this agency is not legitimate because it has no

oversight, and a federal judge in New York just took their side.

A federal judge has just ruled that the CFPB is unconstitutionally structured and therefore

can't bring a case against firm accused of scamming both 9/11 responders and ex-NFL

players out of settlement monies: According to the conclusion in the ruling:

Because Plaintiff Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is unconstitutionally structured and

lacks authority to bring claims under the CFPA, the Clerk of Court shall terminate Plaintiff

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as a party to this action.

office, but the CFPB has officially been terminated from the case by Judge Loretta Preska.

Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts strongly opposed this, and tweeted that Kraninger
