Trump news on Youtube Jul 19 2018

got a transcript I reviewed it I actually went out and reviewed it an

answer that I gave and I realized that there is a need for some clarification

it should have been obvious I thought it would be obvious but I would like to

clarify just in case it wasn't in a key sentence in my remarks I said the word

would instead of wouldn't the sentence should have been I don't see any reason

why I wouldn't why it wouldn't be Russian all right so there you got the

president of state say yesterday afternoon in the roosevelt room

clarifying what he had said at that press conference with vladimir putin in

helsinki newt gingrich joins us right now former Speaker of the House Fox News

contributor he's also got a great new book out it's called Trump's America mr.

speaker before the president clarified you said of the mistake you said it was

the most serious mistake of his presidency now you've heard him clarify

says did he misspoke problem with the double negative what do you think well

if you read the entire text of what he said in the Roosevelt Room he goes on in

length reinforcing his belief in the American intelligence agencies and by

the way pointing out that his critics or the people who failed when you see John

Brennan or you see other people who are Jim clapper talking on television those

were the guys who were in charge in 2016 so their hysteria and their strong

language they're the failures Trump was a candidate he wasn't in charge of

national security they were and they failed I thought that his correction was

important I frankly think he could give a major speech and put it in context

mean a lot of them stuff we've heard and I was as direct as I was the other day

because I thought it was important to get his attention he's not a guy as you

know he's not a guy who likes to correct himself or likes to admit he made a

mistake and I thought this was a big enough one that he simply had to stop

and set the record straight but but let's also look at the record

Obama was very weak in Ukraine trump has authorized the sale of offensive weapons

to the Ukrainians to defend themselves Trump has expelled 60s Russian

intelligence people in the United States he has closed for Russian offices the

United States he went to NATO to do what to get him to

increase their spending so they would be stronger in containing Russia he

lectured it's the chance so Germany about what about buying natural gas from

Russia and propping up Putin so to suggest that somehow Trump has some

Patsy for Putin requires you to deny everything that he's done and that's why

correcting that one mistake I thought was very important I just heard just

real quick Leon Panetta the former CIA director says the way Trump behaves is

clear signal the Russians have something on him do you have do you want to

counter that or you want to agree with that sure I think I'd sure I think John

Brennan is a total disgrace no I'm well that was a failure yeah

oh well and Panetta said by was Brennan had caught a treasonous in Panetta's

case I'd like to know why why when he was advising Obama they didn't provide

offensive weapons to Ukraine why they didn't do the things to increase

spending at NATO why you know I just think that all of a sudden you have this

revisionist history from the left the fact is that Obama was totally

ineffective Hillary Clinton's reset button was a joke she gave the Russians

access to uranium that they wouldn't have gotten otherwise so when I when I

look at the totality of the Obama period it seems to me that Trump has been so

much tougher than Obama was that there's no question and I don't know why Leon

would say that me Leon's a pretty balanced guy but I thought it was

Brennan just because it sounded like Brennan Wright who was pretty well

there's something to that too the Russians would not be in the Middle East

again if President if President Obama enforced his red line in Syria that left

an opening for the Russians to come back in starts taking the so-called weapons

of mass destruction that poison gas out by the way they left almost all of it in

and next thing you know they're flying their planes and that president Syria is

is where it is today you know I think it's fair to say that compared to in

terms of who was softer on Putin I think that Trump has fired about a hundred and

twenty-five missiles into Syria in order to enforce our disagreement with the use

of chemical weapons as I said a minute ago he expelled in in supporting Great

Britain he expelled sixty Russian officers who were in the United States

he closed four offices I didn't see anything like that at of Obama so but

but I'm not going to say that Obama therefore was it was a puppet of Putin

and I'm frankly very surprised that somebody as rational as Leon Panetta

would have said that yeah well the president's saying it's Trump

derangement syndrome why the left is treating in this way this is his latest

tweet he said some people hate the fact that I get along well with President

Putin of Russia they would rather go to war than see this it's called Trump

derangement syndrome well you do remember that on the left they had four

different sets of signs to oppose any of the four people that Trump picked to be

the US Supreme Court justice so it gives you some flavor

you know they wake up in the morning they know Trump has done something wrong

they just don't know what it is yet but they know that they'll be outraged

you know they know that would spend the day being outraged they just don't know

exactly what it is they're gonna be outraged by but I want to go back this

was a very important moment for this president if he had not fixed this if he

had not had that to that talk in the Roosevelt Room if he had not gone on to

reinforce the American intelligence system I think that we've been a much

bigger mess right now and I'm really delighted that he took a serious look at

it he hates to correct himself it's not who he is but I think he did the right

thing I think he did it well all right Newt Gingrich joining us today with his

perspective mr. speaker thank you very much Thanks I'm not pro-russia Pro

anybody I just want to have this country be safe I don't want nuclear weapons

even people thinking about it you know Russia and the United States control 90%

of the nuclear weapons in the world and getting along with Russia and not only

for that reason that's a good thing not a bad thing that says that before and he

said it in the past and he said it again last night

of course Tucker did his interview a couple of days ago when he was over in

Finland that's right right after the press conference Tucker got a one-on-one

with him so did Sean Hannity so we aired one the first night and then one last

night let's bring in Tommy Lehren she's out in California I assume which is

where you where she lives great to see you this morning thanks for

waking up super early what do you what do you think Tommy about good to see you

thank you what do you think about the president's comments and the way the the

media treated him well there were many on the left and of course some of our

favorite never Trump errs who were said about this press conference before it

even began because they will use any excuse to be outraged at this president

for doing exactly what he said he was going to do which was try to repair

relations with Russia and beyond that this investigation this endless

investigation has been going on for far too long and there has been no evidence

of collusion this president is fed up as are most of the American people if

there's evidence of collusion with Russia we would like to see it if not

stop wasting our time because the candidates that the Democrats wanted to

win did not win in 2016 let's move on this president is fed up I'm fed up I'm

sure everyone watching is fed up with us at this point right well Tommy the the

rhetoric from the left regarding what he said and he said he misspoke yesterday

when he clarified yesterday in the Roosevelt Room but the rhetoric from the

left has been really hyperbolic I mean some people said that what he said was

worse than 9/11 worse than Kristallnacht worse than Pearl Harbor that he's a

traitor and it's treason it's it's a complete Trump derangement syndrome

example of sometimes it happens like that on the left oh these are the final

stages of Trump derangement syndrome and you're gonna see it more and more as we

head into midterms but again I will have folks look at this and I'll have them

ask the Democrats many of the never Trump errs and of course many in the

mainstream media do you want this president to wage war against Russia

because Hillary Clinton lost the election it's a very simple question

because if you look at the outrage of the Selective outrage I might add

from the left it would almost seem as if that is what they want so that is my

question to them moving forward what would you have this president do would

you like him to work towards diplomacy and world peace or would you like him to

be aggressive towards Russia because Hillary Clinton lost the election for

example right and let's just look at the results at the tax cut was only for the

red to really look at the economy you can't argue with that North North Korea

well it's all falling apart talks aren't going well yesterday we got the remains

I understand of 50 North Korea Korean War veterans so that is on-track plus a

letter back and forth and now we have an understanding that if Russia if the

Russia deal comes forward we're going to have a series of consistent meetings

with higher-ups in Russia for the most contentious issue in the world right now

so the results and the anger will subside if the if the results are

different and they are and they are turning out the way the president says

do you think the Democrats want this president to have any victories because

I haven't seen one indication of that thus far into this presidency all those

things that you mentioned all the accomplishments it almost seems that the

Democrats are rooting against this president and therefore rooting against

this country this issue is no different all right

Tommy let's switch gears there's a 28-year old political newcomer she's a

socialist who won the Democratic primary here in New York City her name is

Alexandria Acacio Cortes and I don't know if she really has a handle on how

the jobs thing works but she had this observation about the unemployment rate

which right now is very low unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs

unemployment is low because people are working 60 70 80 hours a week and can

barely feed their kids and so I do think that right now when we have this

no-holds-barred wild-west hyper capitalism what that means is profit at

any cost capitalism has not always existed in the

world and it will not always exist in the world okay so what do you make of

her economics ideas where everybody the reason unemployment is low is

everybody's got two jobs isn't it disturbing that the quote future of the

Democratic Party doesn't know how the unemployment rate is calculated I didn't

think there could be a better face for the Democratic Party than Hillary

Clinton but then Alexander Acacio Cortez came along and I have to tell you it's

disturbing but like I told you guys a couple weeks ago if this is truly the

new face of the Democratic Party I really like our chances in November a

couple of things Tommy she's diametrically opposed to you but I like

when talented people like you and her she's got talent get into politics so I

don't think it's I don't like the way everyone's vilifying her but I just have

a problem when Tom Perez says she's the future of the party and they know of

nothing about her in fact Joe Lieberman came out yesterday and said Joe Crowley

should do what I did when I lost my primary I went back in his independent

and I went back in one might see that Joe Crowley should go try to do that you

think he should go do do that well for the future of this country would hope

that reasonable Democrats are coming forward and challenging someone like

Alexander Acacio Cortes because the things that she's saying are truly toxic

when she when she raves about socialism I wonder if she's looked at Venezuela

lately in the fruits of what socialism produces again it's disturbing and it's

deserving because a lot of young people are looking to her as the future of the

Democratic Party I think the Democratic Party deserves better because remember

people flee from socialism not to it and we don't need leaders like her preaching

the value of socialism to our young people to our citizens yeah but you

think about it during the last presidential cycle who was the red hot

on the political left it was Bernie Sanders and he's a socialist and he had

a lot of kids interested in his message yet and here she is today well you have

to also consider to where her region where she loves she lives in New York I

don't know if that message would would also work in other parts of the country

where you do have blue states right well see Tommy have a great week thank you

very much for joining us today

George Will calls Trump 'sad, embarrassing wreck of a man' - Duration: 3:35.

George Will calls Trump 'sad, embarrassing wreck of a man'

Conservative columnist George Will on Tuesday called President Trump a "sad, embarrassing wreck of a man" in criticizing his performance at this week's summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Will said Republicans should be embarrassed by Trump's remarks at the summit, in which he attacked the special counsel investigation into Russia's interference in the presidential election, let various comments by Putin stand without question and cast doubt on the findings of U.S.

intelligence agencies, seemingly putting equal weight on the word of the Russian leader.

Trump sought to walk back some of his remarks on Tuesday, saying he misspoke at the press conference.

"America's child president had a play date with a KGB alumnus, who surely enjoyed providing day care," Will writes in a Washington Post column.

"It was a useful, because illuminating, event: Now we shall see how many Republicans retain a capacity for embarrassment.".

Will writes that Trump, "who bandies the phrase 'America First,'" put himself first and the U.S.'s interests last during his time spent with Putin.

He then goes on to list some of the critical comments Trump received regarding his summit from Republican lawmakers, such as Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). .

He also questions if people like Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, White House chief of staff John F.

Kelly and Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Daniel Coats can continue to do their jobs for the president.

Will also questioned whether Russia has something on Trump to "keep him compliant.

"Americans elected a president who — this is a safe surmise — knew that he had more to fear from making his tax returns public than from keeping them secret," Will writes.

"The most innocent inference is that for decades he has depended on an American weakness, susceptibility to the tacky charisma of wealth, which would evaporate when his tax returns revealed that he has always lied about his wealth, too.

"A more ominous explanation might be that his redundantly demonstrated incompetence as a businessman tumbled him into unsavory financial dependencies on Russians.

A still more sinister explanation might be that the Russians have something else, something worse, to keep him compliant.".

Will has frequently criticized Trump and the Republican Party throughout Trump's presidency.

In June, he called for voters to vote out the GOP in the upcoming midterm elections.

SumOfUs at the Together against Trump protest in London - Duration: 2:05.

Today is about so much more than just one man.

We've watched in horror as we've seen children separated from their families on the US-Mexico border.

But the same policies are happening here in the UK, in Europe, and all across the world.

So that's why today we've come together to resist Trumpism everywhere.

We're coming together to resist Trumpism because Trumpism means

repression of migrants at borders.

It means sexism. It means bigotry.

It means blank cheques for corporations so that they can do what they please.

And we're here today saying: people and planet over profit.

SumOfUs members from all over the country and all over Europe

have donated so much money to help us get many many people here,

to advertise the march, and do some fabulous projections overnight in London.

We're sending a really strong message that we are standing strong against Trump's brand of politics.

When I was invited by SumOfUs, they said come to a "Carnival of Resistance"

and it feels like a carnival!

There's a fantastic atmosphere

of people expressing what their values are. That they're not Trump's values.

It's thanks to SumOfUs members that we've managed to make today one of the biggest protests in UK history

against this hateful brand of politics

And days like today prove that together we will win.

And we will resist Trumpism.

Resist Trumpism everywhere!

"Trump is stronger and smarter than Putin": White House press briefing with Sarah Sanders - Duration: 24:54.

stay July 24th he will address the Veterans of Foreign Wars 119th annual

convention President Trump is committed to our veterans and his work to reform

the VA inter ensure veterans are given the care and support they deserve the

president looks forward to being with the more than 4,000 veterans in

attendance yesterday the US Senate confirmed

Randy Quarles as the vice chair for supervision at the Federal Reserve but

it is unfortunate that his nomination was continually delayed there are still

three more nominees to the Fed who have yet to receive a vote it is inexcusable

that Senate Democrats have delayed confirming the president's nominees an

even worse example of a necessary delay is the nomination of Don stump to be a

commissioner on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission there is no

opposition to her but yet she has been waiting for 400 days for a vote we urged

Senate Democrats to stop these unnecessary delays and confirm these

qualified nominees lastly on behalf of the president in the White House we

offer prayers for United States Secret Service Special Agent Noll Edward Roman

and his family including his wife and two young children

The Secret Service announced this morning that agent R Omega n-- suffered

a stroke while on duty in Scotland last week and has tragically passed away he

was a five-year veteran of the United States Marines and spent 19 years with

the Secret Service the President and the First Lady are deeply grateful for his

lifetime of devotion to his country and the men and women of the Secret Service

make enormous sacrifices for our safety and security and we are forever in their

debt and with that I will take your questions major earlier she asked the

president is Russia still targeting the u.s.

said no is that what the president actually believes do you understand the

question and his his petit position that no Russia is not doing anything to

interfere or medal of the 2018 election a chance to speak with the president

after his comments and the president was said thank you very much and was saying

no to answering questions the president and his administration are working very

hard to make sure that right Russia is unable to meddle in our elections as

they have done in the past as if we have stated well since there's currently not

an election today not specifically but we certainly believe that we are taking

steps to make sure they can't do it again

unlike previous administrations this president is actually taking bold action

and reform to make sure it doesn't happen again

but he does believe that they would target certainly US elections again the

president and the DNI coach who said the red lights are blinking that's why we're

taking steps to ensure that these things don't happen again we wouldn't actually

spend as much time and effort as we are if we didn't believe that they were

still looking at us from the beginning of his administration president Trump

has actually taken action to defend our election system from meddling and

interference I'm going to read through a few of the things that we're doing in

May of 2017 president Trump signed an executive order to strengthen and review

the cyber security of our nation and it's critical infrastructure the

Department of Homeland Security has taken the lead in working with all 50

states local governments and private companies to improve election security

DHS has increased coordination among all election partners 34 states 52 county

and local governments and five election companies receive cyber security scans

regularly from DHS DHS plans to provide on-site risk and vulnerability

assessments to all states that requested so far 18 states have requested this

assessment a new pilot program was launched to increase Rapid Response

capabilities on election day and in 2017 on-site cyber security support was

provided in March of 2018 Congress provided the election assistance

Commission with 380 million dollars in funding for

election assistance grants to States these are steps that we've taken to

prevent it from happening these are steps that we've taken because we see

that there's a threat there cecilia clarifying what you just said dan coates

at Point Lake the threat is still ongoing from Russia does this White

House believe that currently this threat is still ongoing certainly like I just

said we believe that their threat still exists which is why are we are taking

steps to prevent it again you wouldn't go through that lengthy process if you

weren't the president 5 is comments from history does the president stand by all

of his other public comments on the trip including using a consummate interview

criticizing Teresa mace handling of the brett's

negotiations is a comments that Russia other than Russia controlled Germany

over pipeline and and other comments in that press conference Monday where he

continued to doubt was throw to cast doubt on the intelligence community

assessment of Russian bailing the 2016 elections he stand by all of those again

the president saw need to clarify the position he saw how his comments were

being interpreted he looked at the transcript and clarified those comments

has had any response to the arrest and indictment

Russian national was who's accused of traditional trade American civil

organizations clearly right into China influenced American politics certainly

we're looking at that but just to clarify I know that there was a massive

media hysteria yesterday over a confusion between that individual and a

White House staffer which I think shows frankly the outrageousness and the just

desire to find the negative and everything that this president does just

because somebody was simply redheaded they were accused of being some sort of

spy for Russia I think that this has gotten totally out of control you guys

need to take a little bit of a step back slow down and quit going after the Trump

administration on every single thing that you have no responsibility ever I

said we're looking at it but this is a lengthy process we're going through it

however I do have a response to the fact that simply because somebody had the

same hair color they were accused of being a Russian spy by a large number of

people frankly in this room Roberta's the president today and Secretary of

State and both spoke about progress intox trade talks with Mexico and I'm

wondering whether trilateral talks with Mexico in Canada and also the bilateral

talks with Canada are effectively off the table for now is the administration

choosing to go with Mexico where they see there's progress and forget about

the trial at fort we're continuing both of those tracks we see a lot of progress

on the conversations with Mexico and if we could make a bilateral deal with them

we're certainly very happy to do that but again we're continuing both

conversations both tracks Maggie thank you Sara Russian authorities yesterday

named several Americans and they want a question and they claim were involved in

ill Browder's quote-unquote crimes and in their terms including former

ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul this president Trump's support that idea is

the open to having US officials questions that the president is gonna

meet with his team and we'll let you know when we have an announcement on

that so second is that a topic that came up in their conversation

and raise this with the president drum uh there was some conversation about it

but there wasn't a commitment made on behalf of the United States and the

president will work with his team and we'll let you know if there's an

announcement on that front like the president earlier today said that there

could be quote tremendous retribution for the European Union if there's not a

deal struck on auto imports in the past he has talked about potentially putting

a tariff okay 20 percent is that what he meant today by tremendous retribution or

is it possible he goes even beyond that certainly it's an option on the table

that the president is considering but we are in the investigation process right

now and we'll let you know we have an announcement it makes you brought up the

fed the the beige book just came out which is anecdotes from across the

country of what's happening with the economy here's some of the headlines

manufacturers are concerned about terrace they're dealing with higher

prices because of trade tariffs are increasing metal prices and AG prices

have fallen because of Chinese tariffs it's not necessarily a rosy picture with

the tariff situation your response to those headlines would be why the

president has focused on long-term economic principles we have one of the

strongest economies that we've had in decades he continues to look for ways to

help to protect American workers and he's going to continue to do that on a

number of different fronts in a number of different ways again this is

short-term and the president hopes to open up a number of different markets

and to create a more plain trade field across the globe you make two questions

the first one in Finland President Trump I'm gonna talk about the stances of the

US intelligence community and Russia he said both both part I have competence in

both parties after a young woman was killed in Charlottesville not in Choctaw

Virginia after protesting neo-nazis he said I think there's blame on both sides

some people see the president continuously making false equivalencies

and equivalences what do you say to that criticism I would not compare the two

situations the president I think said exactly what he thought yesterday in his

remarks and I would refer you back to those jobs and also does the presidency

that interference in the 2016 election in possibly in the midterms as an attack

on democracy American democracy us the the secretary for homeland security said

that it was an attack on American democracy but the president said that

the Democrats were weak that Republicans basically had better systems and he

didn't see it as an issue of American democracy or just his opponents being

attacked again the president thinks that we have to focus on securing our

election integrity in our election systems which is why he has spent so

much time with his administration making sure that this doesn't happen again

let's not forget that this didn't happen under president Trump's watch this

happened under the Obama administration we're taking steps we're making bold

reforms to try to fix this and make sure it never happens again

because we take it seriously and because we recognize that our election system

are incredibly important and there's certainly a cornerstone of our democracy

Josh the president spent two hours of ten minutes with my 13 deal we made on

Syria was this deal made on anything can you give us any sense of what came out

of that meeting certainly as the president said a number of issues were

raised including Syrian humanitarian aid Iran's nuclear ambition Israeli security

North Korea and denuclearization Ukraine and the occupation of Crimea reducing

Russian and US nuclear arsenals and of course your favorite topic

Russia's interference in our elections all of these issues were talked about

this is the beginning of the dialogue with

Russia and our administration and there's and we're gonna continue working

through those things but those were all of the topics and certainly probably

others that were covered on a number of issues from the indexing of Crimea to

election meddling the president seems to spent more time criticizing his

predecessor Barack Obama for letting it happen under his telling ban Vladimir

Putin do you have any sense why the president has not been more critical of

Putin for some of these events that the entire world stages has really gone

after about look I think the president as he has said many times before has

been tougher on Russia than anybody I think you can see that in all of the

actions that he's taken whether it was a plant that was closed due to aluminum

and steel tariffs that were put in place by this president the Treasury

Department has issued new sanctions on numerous individuals and entities in

Russia the president's continued sanctions on Russia's malicious cyber

activity in response to election hacking we've expelled 60 Russian operatives

from the United States and closed two consulates President Trump

issued four statements condemning Russia's poisoning of UK citizens on UK

soil authorized the sale of lethal aid to Ukraine authorized military strikes

against the Assad regime in Syria and has repeatedly called out Russia's

actions exporting energy to our allies in Eastern Europe look the president has

been extremely tough on Russia and to say anything different just not true by

name former Ottoman Putin I want he criticized Putin by that I think he has

I think he has called them out for interfering our election he's been tough

on Russia repeatedly and he's taken action against Russia on a number of

fronts that I just listed off why wasn't he critical of approved actions what

they had a number of conversations the president discussed some of these things

directly face-to-face with Vladimir Putin he addressed him again yesterday

the president also sees this as an opportunity as he said many times to be

able to work with Russia he recognizes the fact that 90 percent of the world's

nuclear weapons are under the direction of the United States and Russia

he thinks it's a good thing to get along with the other person that controls that

much of the nuclear arsenal across the globe he wants to create a more stable

world a more peaceful world and we can't do that if we can't get along with

Russia in some capacity and so certainly we've called him out we've been tough

we've approached this in a totally different fashion than has been

previously done because what's been done in the past hasn't worked so we're

trying a new approach but to act like he hasn't been tough on Russia that he

hasn't called them out is simply not true and it simply completely changes

everything that this administration has done in regards to that country Josh I'm

gonna keep going Justin I'm gonna go you describe the negative impacts of the

conflict in China a short term but that's only true if we're able to strike

a better deal and from the outside since the tariffs went on what two weeks ago

it seems like those negotiations have broken down so I'm wondering it to be

tell us about the status of them are why the Treasury secretary isn't meeting

one-on-one with China when it's in Argentina for the g20 and what it would

take from the Chinese or from the US to restart those times look I'm not gonna

negotiate with you guys I'm gonna leave that to secretary minuchin an ambassador

Lida Heiser we're continuing to have conversations with China we're

continuing to look for ways that we can have a better trade deal with them all

up on Maggie's question because she asked about the idea that Putin offered

essentially allowing robert muller and his investigators to go to russia to

oversee or witness the interrogations of the russian military intelligence

officers if the US would reciprocate and have Russian investigators come here to

watch American citizens face questions about the crimes that they allegedly

committed the president called it an interesting

idea he said it was an incredible offer why would he say that he said it was an

interesting idea he didn't commit to anything he wants to work with his team

and determine if there's any validity that would be helpful to the process but

again we've committed to nothing and it was an idea that they threw out Sarah

some Democrats on Capitol Hill now are saying that they want to drag the

translator who was in the room with the president and Vladimir Putin before

congressional committees to find out exactly what was said in their private

meeting is that something that the White House would ever support that's

something that would go through the State Department Mike yeah the list of

subjects you went through is hard for that one-on-one meeting unless I missed

it worse sanctions disgust at all if to the president bring an apple or

different bring it up to the president Trump I'm

not aware I'd have to ask to be sure calyx just one quick one yesterday the

president's revision it was kind of seen widely that he was meeting himself a

little bit of room when he said there could have been others to move metal was

he referring to any specific intelligence on that or is that his

instinct certainly the president receives a number of briefings and has

talked about this subject pretty extensively were aware the others that

have made attempts but I can't get into any of that here at this point a few

questions for you and I want to just clarify some he talked about the

beginning the briefing so despite the video that shows the president looking

at Cecilia and answering no to this question about whether Russia is still

targeting the US and despite multiple people in the room understanding that

the president was responding to that question and despite the president

having never before said the word no no repeatedly to us no reporters out of the

room yes you're saying you're saying it to reverse you're saying it the

presidency this is the first thing that the president said after the question

was asked was thank you very much and he said no I'm not answering any more

questions and even further I think even Cecilia didn't realize what the answer

was because she asked for clarification and he didn't answer the follow-up she

wasn't sure I talked to the president he wasn't answering that question he was

saying no he's not taking questions and I've stated what our position is which

is the president this is the second time in three days that the president of the

White House has come out and reversed what the president has said actually

what I'm interpreting what the president said I'm not reversing it while I was in

the residence well and I didn't take it the way you did but why should this

president have any credibility to Americans in what he says if in fact 24

hours later or in this case three hours later the White House comes out and says

just kidding first of all that's not what I said I was interpreting what the

president is intention was and stating the administration's policy it's not

exactly what you just explained we never said just kidding and I think and I

think that you can take the fact that the president has credibility because he

saw that he had misspoken and he wanted to clarify that yesterday

which he did so when he sees that he's misspoken he comes out and he says

Jordan Jordan will just to follow up on my second question Sarah's right I'm

going to have you told Josh the president has been once again Ali I'm

moving on to Jordan Jordan go ahead I

don't think any of us remember at least I don't remember a time when the

president has publicly called up Vladimir Putin I think by stating the

fact that the president said that Russia interfered with our election that's a

pretty bold call out of another world leader Jordan go ahead senators Rubio

event honda introduced legislation that would impose new sanctions on Russia if

the intelligence agencies find the medal in the 2010 midterms or in the future

with the president Trump support proposal like that they're not gonna get

into a hypothetical situation until we until we see you know a final piece of

legislation and also a determination if there's election meddling again our goal

is to stop that from happening which is why we've spent such a significant

amount of time in the first year and a half of our administration focusing on

protecting the election integrity

Cesare's voter suppression included with that please if we could go on pattern

new question did you choose not to call on me it's photo suppression part of

that election process that the president is trying to look for oh you're not

going to answer that though exposing all the county issues

that our community in America asked about you got the answer John go ahead

that's all right fine thank you Sarah I wanted to ask you about the immediate

reaction to the president's comments that he made

that joint press conference in Helsinki that was immediate every cable channel

Fox NBC CNN reacted immediately to the suggestion the president made that he

did not believe that Russia interfered in the u.s. presidential election

I got bike inbox inundated with emails from Republican members of Congress with

their reaction immediately in 24 hours to 24 hours for the president to correct

the record why did it take so long for the president to clarify the comments

that he made at that press conference look the president put out an initial

tweet after boarding Air Force One that clarified his comments on the

intelligence community wanted to make sure that was clear and at the very

first chance he had in a public setting the following day he clarified his

comments and I don't think that it was that long for that to be the very first

public appearance that he had following arriving back to the United States it's

a pretty long time and it was out there for it wasn't actually 24 hours before

he responded at all again he put out an initial tweet from Air Force One on this

to clarify his remarks and change the wood to wood it wouldn't

and I think that you know a lot of people would argue that there was ample

time for the president he tweets all the time from Air Force One anywhere he did

that to put out a statement which clarified what he meant to say during

the joint news conference and he didn't do that what's up so long as my question

once he reviewed the transcript he wanted to publicly he wanted to publicly

address the clarification and which he did Deputy Attorney General rod roses

scene is that something that the White House would support for the lack of

cooperation and turning over documents to Congress the president's made clear

he liked all documents to be turned over but we're continuing to work with the

art department of justice I don't have anything further with the White House

denounce that ever been do they have the do they have confidence within the

Deputy Attorney Carol the president would like to see the documents turned

over when the president no longer has confidence in someone his administration

will let you know conference with Prime Minister may I asked the president as he

was leaving whether or not he would tell Vladimir Putin to stay out of US

elections as he was leaving with Prime Minister he said yes did the president

tell addameer Putin at their summit in Helsinki to stay out of US elections

certainly the president as both he and President Putin said discussed election

meddling I think we've made very clear what our position is on that they

discussed election meddling but did the President of the United States tell the

president Russia to stay out of US elections to President Putin the

president has made clear to Vladimir Putin that he should stay out of US

elections sorry I will go ahead reserved record was a reporter

last question bye-bye it was a recording made of their one-on-one meeting because

I exist I'm not aware cessarich the president is very concerned about the

election process you talk about what he's doing you did not you did not

mention voter suppression and that voter suppression has been an issue for for

decades and particularly in these last few elections these voter suppression

now on the table when he was talking about voter fraud people were talking

about voter suppression as well his voter suppression on the table is well

we want to do everything within our power to protect the integrity of our

elections and we're going to look at that on a number of fronts the reason I

dressed address these specific issues is because of Russians involvement in our

elections in the past I'm going to take one last question so I want to change

the topic a minute if I may and go south sure I think that thank you

so the incoming president of Mexico has made two very bold suggestions number

one he's looking at giving amnesty to the drug cartels operating within there

today they come out and say they're seriously looking at legalizing all

drugs in Mexico now if they do that obviously it's going to have a

tremendous impact on the incoming amount of drugs in the into the United States

what is the president's position on that and are they going to do anything to

stop that from happening in Mexico certainly we're going to continue

engaging with our Mexican partners I don't have a specific policy

announcement on that front however I can say that we would not support the

legalization of all drugs anywhere and certainly wouldn't want to do anything

that would allow more drugs to come into this country thanks so much have a great

day

you

Amy Klobuchar talks Trump-Putin Meeting with Don Lemon - Duration: 4:57.

Want to bring in now Senator Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat from Minnesota and

a member of the Judiciary Committee. Good evening to you. Thank you so much. Thank

you Don. What do you think of what the Republican leader said? Well there's not

much more to add to that except to say that we need to also move forward and

figure out what's going to happen now and I think we need to bring in before

Congress some of the people that were there at that meeting to figure out what

really happened. No -- the meeting was private but were with him. And then also

to make Putin extradite and bring in, we want to bring in those 12 people that

have been charged in the complaint. You think to get someone like John McCain to

say this. I stood with Senator McCain and Senator Graham on the front line with

Ukrainian troops right across from where the Russians were and he went there

right after Donald Trump was elected. He knew that there was a problem. He knew

that Trump wasn't going to stand up for these countries. We went to Estonia,

Latvia, Lithuania and boy have we seen it today. He chose to stand with someone who

not only attacked our democracy but has poisoned his political opponents, has

through his military brought down a plane -- and this was just established in

the Dutch investigation over Ukraine -- killing 300 innocent people. That is who he chose to

stand with over our own intelligence community. That speaks when, and you

know everyone knows what Vladimir Putin has done, at least some of what he what

he's done. But I have to ask you, what is your message to Republicans who are not

speaking out as forcefully against the President's performance as the ones who

that I read before. I think they need to step back and think what are the values

of America we are a free democracy and they didn't just mess around in our own

general election they messed around in the Republican primary, they messed

around in Brexit, they've messed around in free democratic elections and outside

of elections all over the world. So if you're going to stand up for our country

and for patriotism and for democracies all over the world then you have to say

something. And I'm glad these Republicans have come forward and that's helpful but

it's just a beginning. And it's but it doesn't have to be more

than a strongly-worded statement because I say I say that because the Senate

Majority Whip John Cornyn told CNN that that there are talks on Capitol Hill to

reaffirm support in the Senate of the intelligence community's assessment that

Russia interfere in our election. Sure. Have you heard this? I've heard them talk

about it. I love to just take Senator McCain's statement and vote on that. I

think that would be a good idea. But I have also, there's bills that I'm working

on right now when was Senator Lankford that we're leading along with Senator

Graham and Senator Harris and that's a strong bipartisan bill that basically

says let's give the states additional funding. We've already given them $380

million to get backup paper ballots to do audits. Let's make it very clear that

when there's hacks as we just know from these indictments. 500,000 voters that

had their information broken into. Let's get that information out to the states

right away. So that's called the Secure Elections Act. And then Senator McCain

and I along with Senator Warner are leading the Honest Ads Act which would

put some requirements in place for paid media ads. And we know in the last

election there were a bunch of ads bought with rubles and the Russians were

involved in that business as well. Senator do you do you think there's a

fine line that was crossed today with for your Republican colleagues? Or do

you think it's gonna go by the wayside as you know when the president says or

does something outrageous as it has so many times? You know, I don't know how

this can just go by the wayside when you in addition to the Republican to you

brought you have Senator Corker who chairs the Foreign Relations Committee

basically saying that he made, that the President made our nation look like a

pushover in front of the whole world. You have our allies, I just met with them

with Senator Warner. We met with members of the parliaments from Europe, from all

over Europe, while this was going on we were meeting with them. And they are

looking for leadership from the United States and we are in a position where we

may break off that alliance if this continues when he goes in berates the

head of Great Britain, and berates the head of Germany, and then embraces this

thug, basically, someone who has been, came out of the KGB, who has

attacked our democracy and then lied on TV in front of the world and said he

didn't do it. It's not true. Our own intelligence agencies run by Donald

Trump, appointed by Donald Trump, have all said that this happened. They attacked

our democracy and in the Director Coats words they're getting bolder and they're

gonna do it again. Senator Amy Klobuchar, I appreciate your time. Thank you. Thank you

very much.

Trump Putin Helsinki MSM News Coverage Hysteria Compilation - Duration: 2:08.

But I want to play a compilation as we hand the baton to Paul Watson, of Democrats and

Republicans throwing Trump under the bus and misrepresenting what happened in that press

conference yesterday.

And I've got to tell you, I think Trump comming out and clarifying will be blood in the water.

I mean how dare a president meet with the Russian leader.

My God.

And these are the same globalists selling out our sovereignty, the same ones opening

our borders, and then they turn around at us the patriots and say they're the bad guys.

Paul Watson takes over in a minute and a half.

But first, here's this compilation.

First of all I just have to say, I'm sick to my stomach.

I'm really feeling nauseous.

Stunned.

Gobsmacked.

We're hearing words like, I feel sick, Uh, this is frightening, [ unintelligible ] abomination

Shocking!

Stunning!

Genuinely stunning!

WHAT is going ON?!?

Unbelievable!

Astonishing!

Just astonishing!

It is astonishing!

It's heartbreaking, and it represents, I think AJ: the talking point!

Uh, in our nation's history.

It's time for Americans to be out on the streets!

There were people protesting in the streets every day ..in the 70's.

Why is that not happening now?

AJ: This guy making America great again, he's a Russian!

...shadow government come out and say we cannot side with the government.

As an american citizen, I- I- I- just personally think today is just an incredibly depressing -

Yeah!!

..moment in our time, our history as an American.

AJ: Oh my Gosh, it's so horrible.

Says the Vanderbilt.

Is this a new low?

Appreciate you both being with us on what has been a really difficult day uh for uh

for uh for AJ: This is where they turn the pro-American

guy into the anti-American guy.

...free world.

He didn't even meet his own low bar for not screwing this up!

I mean it is an absolute disgrace.

A parody of a disgrace!

This entire week of President Trump abroad has made Hillary Clinton seem uh all the more

[ unintelligible ] AJ: Oh, she's such an angel.

[simult] All he had to do was not, you know,

put on jammies and crawl under the covers with Vladimir Putin, and he couldn't do THAT!

Do White House officials realize

how HORRIFIED so many Americans are today?

Mr. Putin now is the master puppeteer.

AJ: Oh, Americans are so angry the economy's back.

...If Vladimir Putin picked our President, does anything else matter?

AJ: Here's the good news.

These scumbag Democrat globalists are done.

Trump says Russia no longer targeting U.S. elections, White House says it could - Duration: 1:01.

The White House is scrambling to contain the backlash caused by President Trump's heavily

criticized summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On Wednesday Trump appeared to deny Russia was still targeting U.S. elections, contradicting

warnings made by his top intelligence chief.

Reporter, off-camera: "Is Russia still targeting the U.S., Mr President?"

Trump: "Thank you very much, no."

But White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders later insisted Trump was not replying

to that question.

"I got a chance to speak with the president after his comments and the president was - said

thank you very much and was saying 'no' to answering questions.

The president and his administration are working very hard to make sure that Russia is unable

to meddle in our elections."

However, President Trump did go on to answer more questions after his Cabinet meeting.

He also said no U.S. President has been tougher on Russia than he has.

Newt Gingrich: The truth about Trump, Putin, and Obama - Duration: 6:58.

president Trump's Summit Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin and

Helsinki created a firestorm of controversy president Trump seemed to be

publicly siding with a Russian dictator against the American intelligence

agencies the initial appearance was so bad that I tweeted president Trump must

clarify his statements in Helsinki on our intelligence system and Putin it is

the most serious mistake of his presidency and must be corrected

immediately after flying home from Helsinki and reviewing the tape and

transcript of his press conference with Putin President Trump said he has full

faith in support for America's great intelligence agencies and that he

accepts our intelligence community's conclusion that Russia's meddling in the

2016 election took place in his remarks to members of Congress Tuesday that were

televised by the media President Trump went on to admit that he realized he

needed to clarify his statements and Hale sinky the president said it should

have been obvious I thought it would be obvious but I would like to clarify just

in case it wasn't in a key sentence in my remarks I said the word would instead

of wouldn't the sentence should have been I don't see any reason why I

wouldn't or why it wouldn't be Russia so just to repeat it I said the word would

instead of wouldn't I have on numerous occasions noted our intelligence

findings that Russians attempted to interfere in our elections

unlike previous administrations my administration has and will continue to

move aggressively to repeal any efforts and repeal we will stop it we will

repeal it any efforts to interfere in our elections we're doing everything in

our power to prevent Russian interference in 2018 anyone who has

studied president Trump knows he hates to admit a mistake his natural pattern

is to move forward and ignore mistakes for him this was a big correction and as

I noted the day before it was an absolutely necessary one video president

Trump speaks on recent trip to Helsinki Finland President Trump then reminded

everyone of the Obama administration's failures in dealing with Russian

meddling in President Trump noted that President

Obama and his advisors had information that the Russians had been working to

interfere in the election and they ignored it because they thought Hillary

Clinton was going to win president Trump said President Obama

along with then CIA director John Brennan and then Director of National

Intelligence James clapper and the whole group that you see on television now

probably getting paid a lot of money by your networks they knew about Russia's

attempt to interfere in the election in September and they totally buried it and

as I said they buried it because they thought that Hillary Clinton was going

to win it turned out it didn't happen that way

by contrast my administration has taken a very firm stance it's a very firm

stance on a strong action we're going to take strong action to secure our

election systems in the process there are two key facts in this statement

first the very people who have been loudest in attacking President Trump

about his performance at the Helsinki summit are the people who failed to

protect America from Russian meddling in 2016 the very intensity and nastiness of

former CIA director Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence

clapper is an attempt to distract attention from their failure to protect

America it was their duty in 2016 not candidate Trump's second the Trump

administration has been far tougher on Russia Ving President Obama ever dreamed

of being the trump administration is taking real actions designed to weaken

Russia and force Putin to change his aggressive behavior the Trump

administration has loved you tough sanctions on Russia also president

Trump's public lecture about Germany not buying natural gas from Russia was aimed

at cutting Putin off from hard currency worth tens of billions of dollars and

further weakening the Russian economy furthermore president Trump's efforts to

get our European allies to increase their defense spending has a direct

impact on Putin the stronger NATO is the less maneuvering room Russia has beyond

pressuring our allies consider these specific steps president Trump has taken

against Russia where President Obama refused to provide serious weapons to

the Ukrainians to hell them defend themselves his response was

weakness on a pathetic scale president Trump has approved the sale of offensive

weapons to enable the Ukrainians to increase the cost of Russian aggression

when the Russians used chemical weapons in Great Britain

president Trump joined our allies and expelled 60 Russian intelligence

officers from the United States when the russians retaliated the Trump

administration closed the Russian consulate in Seattle President Trump had

previously shuttered the Russian consulate in San Francisco and smaller

annexes in Washington and New York more than 100 Russian individuals and

companies have been sanctioned for a variety of reasons

despite the hysteria of the left it is impossible to see the Trump

administration as anything but firm in its stealing with Russia nothing done in

Helsinki made life easier for the Putin regime in its continued economic decay

and diplomatic isolation due to the sanctions regime finally a brief word

about the strong language and vicious comments about the president we are in

the early stages of a cultural civil war in which the left sees itself losing

this is what led me to write my new New York Times best-selling book Trump's

America the truth about our nation's great comeback with each passing month

the radical extremist wing of the Democratic Party dominates the

progressive wing more and more with president Trump's nomination of Judge

Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court it was clear that any one Trump nominated

was going to be attacked in fact the demonstrators protesting the nomination

had signs for all four of the finalists and were instantly ready to oppose the

president regardless of his choice similarly Obama air national security

officials seemed determined to use the harshest possible language to attack

President Trump I think they're strong words and hysteria are driven by their

own guilt whatever the Russians did they did while

Brennan was director of the CIA clapper was Director of National Intelligence

and James Comey was head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation these former

officials attacked Trump ferociously to hide their own failure and their own

guilt just keep that in mind the next time you see one of them on TV my

prediction is that President Trump will remain tough on Russia and the house

press conference will be seen as the aberration it was
