Trump news on Youtube Apr 20 2018

Right now, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's regime is holding at least three American

citizens captive.

Ahead of his meeting with Kim, President Trump said the U.S. is in talks to free those three

people.

Trump said, "We are likewise fighting very diligently to get the three American citizens

back.

I think there's a good chance of doing it; we're having very good dialogue."

One of the captives, Kim Dong-chul, was arrested in 2015 and charged with spying.

The other two, Tony Kim and Kim Hak-song, were seized in 2017 and accused of "hostile

acts."

Trump also promised to raise the issue of Japanese citizens held captive in North Korea

— a key issue for Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The last American captive North Korea returned to the U.S., student Otto Warmbier, was medically

evacuated from the country and died shortly after returning.

That prompted Trump to chastise the North during his State of the Union.

"We need only look into the depraved character of the North Korean regime to understand the

nature of the nuclear threat it could pose," Trump said.

Relations between the two countries are slightly warmer now.

But Trump also said he's willing to walk away from the negotiating table if he doesn't see

"fruitful" progress from North Korea.

BOMBSHELL REPORT: Rod Rosenstein Ends Mueller's 'Trump Witch-Hunt' - Duration: 5:04.

BOMBSHELL REPORT: Rod Rosenstein Ends Mueller's 'Trump Witch-Hunt'

Vindication!

A new report out says Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein told President Trump that he

is NOT a target in Mueller's Russia witch-hunt.This likely explains the clandestine surprise meeting

Rosenstein attended at the White House last week.

President Trump told officials after the meeting, that he had no plans on firing Mueller since

he was not a target any longer.

That's it, folks, if President Trump is not a target, he's been vindicated!

From Bloomberg

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein told President Donald Trump last week that he isn't

a target of any part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, according to two

people familiar with the matter.

Rosenstein, who brought up the Mueller probe himself, offered the assurance during a meeting

with Trump at the White House last Thursday, a development that helped tamp down the president's

desire to remove Rosenstein or Mueller, the people said.

After the meeting, Trump told some of his closest advisers that it's not the right

time to remove either man since he's not a target of the probe.

One person said Trump doesn't want to take any action that would drag out the investigation.

The change in attitude by the president comes after weeks of attacks on the special counsel

and the Justice Department, raising questions about whether he might take drastic steps

to shut down the probe.

The shift gives some breathing room for Mueller, as well as Rosenstein, who has been criticized

strongly by House Republicans for being slow to comply with requests for classified documents.

Last week's meeting was set up in part to allow Rosenstein to assuage Trump's frustration

with his decisions.

At the same time, Rosenstein's message may have been based on a technicality.

Trump may not officially be a target, but Mueller hasn't ruled out making him one

at some point in the future, according to a U.S. official with knowledge of the unfolding

investigation.'Still Here' Trump, who still hasn't ruled out removing

Rosenstein and Mueller at some point, signaled his shift in approach to them on Wednesday,

responding to a reporter's question about their fate by saying they are "still here."

"They've been saying I'm going to get rid of them for the last three months, four

months, five months," Trump said at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

"And they're still here.

We want to get the investigation over with, done with, put it behind us.

And we have to get back to business."

Why Mueller Is One Contestant Trump Can't Easily Fire: QuickTake

The Justice Department declined to comment on Rosenstein's meeting with Trump, which

was also attended by White House General Counsel Don McGahn, FBI general counsel Dana Boente,

and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

The moment echoes another conversation early in Trump's presidency, when he spoke with

then-FBI Director James Comey.

Comey's Book Back in March 2017, Comey told Trump he wasn't

a target in the FBI's investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Comey wrote in his new book, "A Higher Loyalty," that Trump repeatedly asked him to help lift

"the cloud" hanging over him by publicly announcing he wasn't under investigation.

Comey refused to make a public announcement, writing that "the FBI and Department of

Justice had been reluctant to make public statements that we did not have an open case

on President Trump for a number of reasons, most important that it would create a duty

to correct that statement should that status change."

Ever since FBI agents raided the home and office of his lawyer Michael Cohen earlier

this month, Trump has been egged on by some of his strongest supporters to strike back

at Mueller.

Court papers filed after the raid revealed that the U.S. attorney's office in the Southern

District of New York has been investigating Cohen for months, following a referral from

Mueller.

That referral was approved by Rosenstein, according to a person familiar with the matter.

In his remarks Wednesday, Trump called the Mueller-led investigation "a hoax" created

by Democrats "to soften the blow of a loss."

"As far as the investigation, nobody has ever been more transparent," he said during

a news conference with visiting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

"I have instructed the lawyers, 'Be totally transparent."'

TREY GOWDY ASKED IF HE BACKS TRUMP SENDING TROOPS TO BORDER, NAILS IT WITH 8 WORDS - Duration: 13:20.

TREY GOWDY ASKED IF HE BACKS TRUMP SENDING TROOPS TO BORDER, NAILS IT WITH 8 WORDS

Trey Gowdy, the "Bulldog" from South Carolina, just gave Democrats a new reason to cry after

he was asked if he backs President Donald Trump's idea to send troops to the border.

The congressman nailed it with eight words.

Millions of American patriots will be sad to see Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) leave

Congress after his term is up.

He has an uncanny ability for wrecking the liberal narrative on everything from political

corruption to immigration.

During a recent interview with Fox News host Stuart Varney of Varney & Co, Gowdy was presented

with the President's recent tweet about border security, which said, "Our Border

Laws are very weak while those of Mexico & Canada are very strong.

Congress must change these Obama era, and other, laws NOW!

The Democrats stand in our way – they want people to pour into our country unchecked….CRIME!

We will be taking strong action today."

"He wants to send troops, well the National Guard, to the border.

Do you approve?

Yes or No?"

Varney asked Gowdy to which the congressman firmly replied, "I do because no country

should ever apologize for border integrity."

Then, Trey Gowdy drove his point home.

"The President is right.

It's a misdemeanor to cross the border without permission — a misdemeanor.

It doesn't become a felony unless and until you re-offend, and it's not a crime at all

to overstay your Visa," Gowdy added.

"I don't know what gets weaker than not being a crime and a misdemeanor.

No sovereign nation should ever apologize for border integrity," Gowdy reiterated.

"By whatever means that needs to be accomplished."

"I think he's doing this — President Trump is taking a very hard line because he's

disappointed in what Congress did," Stuart Varney responded.

"You didn't give him a wall.

You didn't give him any wall funds.

You didn't give him any action on immigration," he added.

Trey Gowdy is absolutely correct.

No sovereign country should be apologetic about securing its borders and creating the

maximum level of security for its people.

Gowdy hit the nail on the head with his response.

The President should use whatever means he finds necessary to secure our borders, regardless

of what end of the country they are on.

President Donald Trump undoubtedly has the support of millions of American patriots who

agree with sending our military to secure the U.S.-Mexico border until a wall is built.

It's a shame that Congress did not include funding for the border wall Trump requested

in their recently passed obscene Omnibus spending bill.

Stuart Varney was right to call out members of Congress for doing nothing.

In part, RINO's like Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Mitch McConnell (R-KY) are responsible for

the colossal failure to fund the wall.

Many Americans cannot wait until Paul Ryan steps down from his position as Speaker of

the House and is replaced with a real conservative who will back President Trump and help send

him a new budget proposal which includes funding for the wall.

It's sickening that guys like Mitch McConnell will do everything possible to prevent Trump

from delivering on his campaign promise to build a wall.

It's even more infuriating that McConnell recently whined about the uphill battle Republicans

face in the midterms.

According to The Hill, McConnell predicted a storm for Republicans who are up for re-election

in November.

"This is going to be a challenging election year," McConnell said, during an interview

with Kentucky Today.

"We know the wind is going to be in our face.

We don't know whether it's going to be a Category 3, 4 or 5."

McConnell isn't as naive as he would like us to believe.

He knows very well that many members of the Senate and House of Representatives are all

involved in a massive act of failure theatre for the purpose of resisting Trump's agenda.

It's too bad that there aren't more people like Trey Gowdy in Washington, D.C., and fewer

like Senator Mitch McConnell.

I believe that those Republicans who have backed President Trump will see overwhelmingly

good results in November, and those who have been dead weight on important issues, such

as border security, will see the kind of storm that McConnell is talking about.

CALIFORNIA HAS PROBLEM WITH AUTHORITY, TRUMP JUST SPANKED THEM WITH BAD NEWS - Duration: 13:39.

CALIFORNIA HAS PROBLEM WITH AUTHORITY, TRUMP JUST SPANKED THEM WITH BAD NEWS

Rebellious California has a serious problem with authority, and President Donald Trump

just spanked them with some bad news that you don't want to miss.

It's about time the Golden State learned a little something about federal law.

According to Fox News, the extreme environmentalists in Sacramento have just gotten a rude awakening

from Trump's EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt after he announced that some of the federally

approved privileges that California enjoys are going to be re-examined.

Most notably, Pruitt talked about the radical Obama-era emissions regulations and California's

previous push to have even stricter emissions laws than the federal government.

On Tuesday, April 3, 2018, Pruitt laid out his plan to roll back Obama-era fuel standards

which many see as a huge win for the automakers and the American economy.

This is bad news for California, which more or less leads the way for over a dozen states

with emissions regulations that surpass those passed by the EPA.

As a result, the Golden State has driven many businesses to other states and hurt their

own economy with unreasonable emissions controls.

In regard to federal regulations, Pruitt said, "These standards that were set were inappropriate

and need to be revised," during a speech at the EPA in Washington D.C., adding that

the rules are too expensive and hurt car buyers by making vehicles costlier.

Pruitt spoke directly about his goals and specific reasons for wanting to roll-back

Obama-era emissions regulations.

"The focus should be on making cars that people actually buy and that are efficient,"

he said.

Pruitt's decision to overhaul the nation's first carbon limits on automobiles, which

requires cars and light trucks sold in the U.S. to average more than 50 miles per gallon

by 2025, shows a joint effort between the country's automakers and the Trump administration

to re-create a decimated car industry.

"This was the right decision, and we support the Administration for pursuing a data-driven

effort and a single national program as it works to finalize future standards," the

Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, which includes Ford, General Motors, and Fiat Chrysler,

said in a statement.

"We appreciate that the Administration is working to find a way to both increase fuel

economy standards and keep new vehicles affordable to more Americans."

The announcement wasn't music to everyone's ears, however.

California immediately pushed back as the EPA's announcement went public.

Now, a legal battle over California's privilege to have stricter emissions regulations than

the federal government is sure to ensue.

California passed its own Clean Air Act in 1970, allowing it to set its own greenhouse

gas emissions standards.

The liberal run state is able to maintain that kind of autonomy based on a waiver it

has with the federal government, which Pruitt now says will be under review.

The smack talk had already begun a day earlier in Sacramento, according to the Associated

Press.

"The Trump Administration's assault on clean car standards risks our ability to protect

our children's health, tackle climate change, and save hardworking Americans money," California's

militant Attorney General Xavier Becerra said in a statement on Monday.

"We're ready to file suit if needed to protect these critical standards and to fight

the Administration's war on our environment.

California didn't become the sixth-largest economy in the world by spectating," Becerra

added.

Over a dozen other state attorney generals joined Becerra on Monday to rebuke the Trump

administration for the rollback calling it "irrational and irresponsible" while vowing

to "vigorously and aggressively challenge President Trump's dangerous anti-environmental

agenda in court."

Pruitt handled the situation with class.

In regard to California's nasty attitude, he said that "Cooperative federalism doesn't

mean that one state can dictate standards for the rest of the country."

"EPA will set a national standard for greenhouse gas emissions that allows auto manufacturers

to make cars that people both want and can afford — while still expanding environmental

and safety benefits of newer cars," he added.

"It is in America's best interest to have a national standard, and we look forward to

partnering with all states, including California, as we work to finalize that standard."

I applaud President Donald Trump and his EPA boss Scott Pruitt for taking the bull by the

horns.

States like California think they are above federal law in so many different ways.

As the Golden State politicians get ready for a legal battle over emissions regulations,

it will be interesting to see them try to convince their voters that living under needless

and expensive

regulations

is better.

TRUMP SENDS IN THE FEDS – 225 Illegals Arrested - Duration: 14:31.

TRUMP SENDS IN THE FEDS – 225 Illegals Arrested

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) just announced that they have arrested 225

illegal aliens in New York state as part of a six day operation "Operation Keep Safe."

Fox News reported that the illegal aliens were arrested throughout New York City, Long

Island, and the Hudson Valley.

Over 180 of the arrested illegal immigrants had previous criminal convictions or had criminal

charges pending, and over 80 of them had been issued a final order of removal and either

failed to leave the U.S. voluntarily or been deported and returned illegally.

Many of the detained illegal aliens had prior felony convictions for serious or violent

offenses, including child sex crimes, weapons charges and assault, or had past convictions

for significant or multiple misdemeanors.

New York is considered a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants as liberal lawmakers try

to hinder ICE officials at every turn.

Top New York City police official Oleg Chernyavsky recently said that over 1,500 requests from

ICE to detain illegal immigrants for up to 48 hours were ignored last year.

Though ICE officials celebrated the success of this new operation, they also slammed liberal

politicians in New York for trying to hinder the effectiveness of immigration control and

allow dangerous illegal immigrants "prey on the people in their communities.

"ICE continues to face significant obstacles with policies created by local officials which

hinder cooperation between ICE and local law enforcement.

Yet, with the tireless efforts of the men and women of ICE, this operation was a great

success," said Thomas R. Decker, field office director for ERO New York.

"The fact is that a so-called 'sanctuary city' does not only provide refuge to those

who are here against immigration law, but also provides protections for criminal aliens

who prey on the people in their own communities by committing crimes at all levels."

Trump Has Got a Nasty Surprise for Rosenstein and Sessions — They're Done!

After the FBI's raid of Michael Cohen's offices and hotel room on Monday, President

Trump is reportedly furious with the Department of Justice and senior bureau officials.

As Mueller's team of investigators begin to circle the wagons, the president is openly

considering terminating both Deputy FBI Director Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Against the advice of his legal council, Trump feels that terminating these two lawmen would

get the DOJ and FBI back on track.

But, voices in the conservative media and the president's own party tell a different

story.

Here's the scoop from our friends at The Hill:

President Trump is reportedly mulling firing Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein after

federal investigators raided the office of Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

CNN reported Tuesday evening that the move is among several that Trump is considering

taking after the FBI raided Cohen's Manhattan office the previous day.

The president is also considering firing Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who recused himself

from the Russia probe last year, CNN reported.

But officials told the network that Rosenstein — the No. 2 Justice Department official

who reportedly personally approved the FBI

raid —

is his most

likely target.

HUGE DACA ANNOUNCEMENT ROCKS NATION – Trump Supporters Stunned - Duration: 10:23.

HUGE DACA ANNOUNCEMENT ROCKS NATION – Trump Supporters Stunned

Dreamers in one major U.S. state are in full panic mode after the state's Supreme Court

issued a major ruling about them.

Fox News reported that Barack Obama's precious Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

recipients are no longer eligible for cheaper "in-state" tuition in Arizona.

This ruling will impact Dreamers who attend Arizona's three state universities and its

largest community college.

The Arizona Supreme Court said that it will release an opinion explaining the ruling on

May 14 and that it was announcing the decision now to give the district and its students,

as well as the state, as much time as possible for planning.

"While people can disagree what the law should be, I hope we all can agree that the

attorney general must enforce the law as it is, not as we want it to be," Arizona Attorney

General Mark Brnovich said in a statement.

Liberals are of course fuming over this decision, with Matt Hasson, spokesman for the Maricopa

County Community Colleges District, saying his district was disappointed by it.

"This ruling is troubling for the 2,000 DACA students currently enrolled in Maricopa

Community Colleges," he said in a statement.

"During the past five years, more than 600 DACA students earned an associate's degree

or a certificate from one of our colleges and are making valuable contributions to the

health of our economy."

This comes weeks after President Donald Trump called out Democrats for abandoning Dreamers.

"Much can be done with the $1.6 Billion given to building and fixing the border wall.

It is just a down payment.

Work will start immediately.

The rest of the money will come – and remember DACA, the Democrats abandoned you (but we

will not)!" Trump wrote on Twitter.

First lady Melania Trump And Akie Abe Soaked In The Splendor Of Another Lavish Palm Beach - Duration: 3:46.

First lady Melania Trump soaked in the splendor of another lavish Palm Beach mansion Wednesday.

The first lady and and her Japanese counterpart toured the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum,

a Palm Beach landmark about three miles from President Donald Trump's own Mar-a-Lago

estate and private club.

The 75-room, 100,000-square-foot mansion — named Whitehall — matches all of the luxuriousness

of Mar-a-Lago.

Whitehall's grand entryway features seven types of marble and a 20-foot high ceiling.

When Whitehall opened in 1902, a New York City reporter wrote the Gilded Age mansion

was "more wonderful than any palace in Europe."

The first lady tweeted photos of her visit with Akie Abe, wife of the Japanese Prime

Minister Shinzo Abe.

The Japanese delegation is visiting Palm Beach for a two-day summit with the president.

"I enjoyed showing Mrs. Abe a timeless part of Florida's history," the first lady

said.

"Thank you to the welcoming staff of the Flagler Museum for having us, and for continuing

to share Whitehall's historic influence."

The industrialist Henry Flagler, who played an integral role in developing Florida's

tourism industry with the Overseas Railroad, built the mansion as a wedding present for

his third wife, Mary Lily Kenan Flagler.

The couple wintered there from 1902 until Flagler's death in 1913.

It cost about $4 million to build and furnish the mansion, which would equate to more than

$100 million in today's dollars.

The museum's director Erin Manning and William Matthews, Flagler's great-grandson, greeted

Trump and Abe, and Manning led a 40-minute tour of the museum.

They saw Flagler's private railcar that he used to travel his east coast railway that

ran from Jacksonville to Key West.

They learned about bicyle-powered wicker wheelchairs wealthy vacationers used to traverse Palm

Beach during the early 1900s.

An organist then serenaded Trump and Abe in the mansion's music room with a performance

of "Anvil Chorus" from the opera Il Trovatore by Giuseppe Verdi, one of Flagler's favorite

pieces.

The 1,249-pipe Odell organ was one of the largest ever installed in a private home of

its day.

President Donald Trump and the prime minister played golf at Trump International Golf Club

in West Palm Beach during the museum tour.

The Trumps and Abes had dinner Tuesday night at Mar-a-Lago.

The prime minister was in South Florida for two days of talks on North Korea and trade

sanctions.

In February 2017, Melania Trump and Akie Abe toured another Palm Beach County site — the

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens.

About 100,000 people visit the Flagler Museum annually.

The first lady and Abe's visits help to shine a positive spotlight on Palm Beach County

attractions, said Ashley Svarney, a spokeswoman for the area's tourism marketing organization

Discover the Palm Beaches.

"It gave tremendous visibility to this gem that we have here in the Palm Beaches that

is available for any and all to come visit and explore," Svarney said.

The Morikami Gardens saw a spike in Internet searches after Abe and Trump's visit last

year, she said.

The first lady is expected to attend former first lady Barbara Bush's funeral on Saturday,

along with the Obamas and Clintons.

The White House has not released whether the president plans to attend.

TRUMP JUST WOKE UP TO SOME AMAZING NEWS — CONGRATULATIONS, MR PRESIDENT! - Duration: 13:39.

TRUMP JUST WOKE UP TO SOME AMAZING NEWS — CONGRATULATIONS, MR.

PRESIDENT!

There are so many accomplishments we could congratulate the 45th President of the United

States on.

From his roaring economy to the massive tax overhaul, this Washington outsider has been

kicking tail and taking names all over town.

But sadly, the liberal forces in the mainstream media have been reluctant to give credit where

credit is due.

And with the president's background in television, you know this bothers him to no end.

Well, he got some news today that is sure to put a smile on his face… and it's going

to be hard for the media to spin this one in a negative way, but you know they'll

try!

Here's the scoop per Breitbart:

President Donald Trump's approval ratings keep rising, according to the latest Rasmussen

poll.

On Wednesday, Rasmussen's daily tracking poll showed that 51 percent of likely U.S.

voters approved of President Trump's job performance.

This is the best rating for Trump since April of the first year of his presidency.

The new milestone occurs just two days after Trump's popularity jumped to 50 percent

in Monday's daily tracking poll.

Rasmussen's daily tracking results are collected via telephone surveys of 500 likely voters

per night and an online survey tool of random participants.

It is reported on a three-day rolling average basis.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample of 1,500 Likely Voters is +/- 2.5 percentage

points.

And here's more directly from Rasmussen:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 51% of Likely

U.S. Voters approve of President Trump's job performance.

This is the president's best overall job approval rating since April of last year.

President Obama earned a 46% job approval rating on April 4, 2010, his second year in

office.

Now that Gallup has quit the field, Rasmussen Reports is the only nationally recognized

public opinion firm that still tracks President Trump's job approval ratings on a daily

basis.

While we're actually a little surprised that it's taken this long for the rest of

country to get on board with Trump's efforts to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, it's better

late than never.

The truth can only be ignored for so long, and then eventually, it comes knocking on

your front door.

Most Americans are happy with the economy and a foreign policy that places American

interests ahead of a globalist agenda…

They want to see President Trump succeed, because they want our country to do well!

Mr. President, thank you for running and thank you for working for free every single day.

Trump Just Signed The Executive Order Liberals Have Feared - Duration: 4:22.

Trump Just Signed The 1 Executive Order Liberals Have Feared Since His Election

With everyone focused on an attention-seeking adult film star and a disgraced former FBI

director, President Donald Trump just signed the one executive order that liberals have

feared since the day he was elected.

You're going to love this.

With the American sheeple foaming at the mouth over Stormy Daniels and James Comey, President

Donald Trump just reformed welfare.

He has signed an executive order to reduce poverty in America "by promoting opportunity

and economic mobility" and aims to do so by addressing "the challenges of populations

that may particularly struggle to find and maintain employment (including single parents,

formerly incarcerated individuals, the homeless, substance abusers, individuals with disabilities

and disconnected youth)."

"While bipartisan welfare reform enacted in 1996 was a step toward eliminating the

economic stagnation and social harm that can result from long-term Government dependence,

the welfare system still traps many recipients, especially children, in poverty and is in

need of further reform and modernization in order to increase self-sufficiency, well-being,

and economic mobility," states the Executive Order Reducing Poverty in America by Promoting

Opportunity and Economic Mobility.

Indeed, President Bill Clinton's welfare reform act of 1996, which he negotiated with

then-Speaker Newt Gingrich, was a substantial step in the right direction.

At the time, the left claimed that people would starve.

They didn't.

Instead, many able-bodied individuals who once relied on a government check found jobs

and started earning a paycheck.

Between 1996 and 2000, the employment rate for single mothers increased from 63 percent

to 76 percent, according to the nonpartisan Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

In addition, Fox News reports that the overall poverty rate has declined over the last half-century.

However, there is still work to be done, and President Donald Trump is diligently fulfilling

one of his key campaign promises; namely, to reform a welfare system which too often

rewards laziness and perpetuates the cycle of government dependence which leads to generational

poverty.

The press release for the president's new executive orders states that, in 2017, "the

Federal Government spent more than $700 billion on low-income assistance."

It notes that since modern welfare began, during the administration of Franklin Roosevelt,

the system has become a large bureaucracy with little incentive for people to look for

work.

His order aims to fix that.

Trump is already making headway with unemployment numbers the lowest they've been in 17 years

— most notably among black Americans — and food stamp participation plummeting:

The number of food stamp dependent Americans hit a six-year low in President Donald Trump's

first year in office, reflecting an improving economy and falling unemployment, according

to a U.S. Agriculture Department (USDA) report.

An average of 42.2 million Americans participated in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program

(SNAP) program in 2017, which is an 11 percent decrease from 2013, when a record number of

people used food stamps, according to USDA.

"Federal spending for SNAP totaled $68.0 billion or 4 percent less than in the previous

fiscal year," USDA reported.

"This was also 15 percent less than the historical high of $79.9 billion set in FY

Conservatives measure success not by how many people receive government assistance, but

by how many don't.

This is one of the key differences between those on the right and their leftist counterparts.

Democrats have labeled themselves the "Party of the People," mainly by giving away "free

stuff" in exchange for votes.

Republicans, however, know that none of these handouts are actually "free."

Someone is paying for them and that "someone" happens to be the hard-working American citizen

who would rather put in a ten-hour day at the factory than live on the dole.

Moreover, conservatives realize that helping people become independent of the government

is real compassion.

By contrast, ensuring that entire demographics are beholden to a certain political party

for their welfare checks is modern day slavery.
