Breaking News :TRADE WAR BEGINS, Brussels and China FURIOUS as Trump signs off steel tariffs

Trump says U.S. to be flexible on tariffs to true friends - Duration: 2:35.
U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing 25 percent tariffs
on steel imports and ten percent on aluminum.
As he previously alluded to, Mexico and Canada are likely to be exempt pending the outcome
of ongoing negotiations on NAFTA.
Park Jong-hong reports.
In the end, President Trump stuck to his guns.
This despite fierce protests from trading partners and even collective concern from
members of the Republican party who claim the measures would weaken the competitiveness
of U.S. industries.
"Today, I'm defending America's national security by placing tariffs on foreign imports of steel
and aluminum.
We will have a 25 percent tariff on foreign steel and 10 percent on foreign aluminum when
the product comes across our borders."
But he held off a decision on Canada and Mexico saying that negotiations are ongoing on NAFTA.
He said if the U.S. strikes a deal, there will be no tariffs for the two countries but
if talks fall apart, the U.S. will terminate NAFTA and start all over again.
He did say that he's optimistic a deal would be reached.
In any case, Trump said 15 days remain until the tariffs take effect and exemptions will
be made on a case-by-case basis considering "fairness on trade."
President Trump spoke at length about how the U.S. industry had been taken advantage
of over the years.
He said millions of U.S. workers had been laid off as plants closed all across America
ravaged by the unfair trade practice called dumping.
He said this was not just a disaster for the economy but also national security.
In the future he added there will be many cases of reciprocal tax which is virtually
a tit for tat in tariffs between trading partners.
The tariff decision deals a blow to Korea which will have to come to grips with Trump's
move.
Seoul's Trade Minister Kim Hyun-jong has been meeting with Congressional and Senate leaders
pitching the message was that Korean steel is not a threat to the U.S. steel industry
and is actually contributing to the U.S. economy through local investments.
In the next 15 days, Korea plans to make a final pitch to try to minimize the tariff
impact.

Trump says U.S. to be flexible on tariffs to true friends - Duration: 2:37.
U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing tariffs of 25 percent
on steel and ten percent on aluminum.
But, backtracking on an earlier "no exceptions" stance, Trump has decided to grant an exemption
to Mexico and Canada... for now.
That could change, though, depending on the ongoing negotiations on the North American
Free Trade Agreement, NAFTA.
Park Jong-hong reports.

BREAKING : One Big Lie Could Land James Comey And Anti-Trump FBI Agents In Prison - Duration: 3:28.
One Big Lie Could Land James Comey And Anti-Trump FBI Agents In Prison
The corruption at the FBI has become the biggest scandal in American politics.
Former FBI Director James Comey and former deputy director Andrew McCabe are neck deep
in trouble.
And now they have to worry about one big mistake landing them both in prison.
Special counsel Robert Mueller has aggressively pursued charges against Trump associates on
process crimes.
He forced former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn to plead guilty to making false
statements to the FBI even though the FBI did not believe he was lying.
And now that could come back to bite Comey and McCabe.
Comey acknowledged that he purposefully leaked four memos of his conversations with the President
to a friend so they would end up in the press and lead to the appointment of a special counsel.
An Inspector General report will allegedly cite McCabe for misleading investigators about
press leaks he engineered during the Hillary Clinton email investigation.
George Washington Law Professor Jonathan Turley writes that the standard set by Mueller may
have put Comey and McCabe in legal jeopardy:
"IN THE CASE OF MCCABE, HE REPORTEDLY DENIED ANY INTENTION TO MISLEAD INVESTIGATORS ON
THE LEAK TO THE WALL STREET JOURNAL.
MCCABE WOULD NOT BE ALONE IN THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT'S OWN ALLOWANCE FOR AN IN-HOUSE "EXCULPATORY
NO."
AS I HAVE PREVIOUSLY WRITTEN, COMEY WAS IN VIOLATION OF FBI RULES WHEN HE REMOVED MEMOS
LINKED TO THE INVESTIGATION AND THEN LEAKED THE INFORMATION TO THE MEDIA THROUGH A FRIEND.
THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT HAS INDICATED THAT THESE MEMOS WERE FBI DOCUMENTS REMOVED BY
COMEY WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL.
MOREOVER, FOUR OF THE SEVEN MEMOS THAT COMEY REMOVED ARE NOW BELIEVED TO BE CLASSIFIED.
SINCE HE REPORTEDLY GAVE FOUR MEMOS TO HIS FRIEND, COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR DANIEL
RICHMAN, TO LEAK TO THE MEDIA, AT LEAST ONE DISCLOSED MEMO MAY HAVE BEEN CLASSIFIED.
IT IS A CRIME TO REMOVE OR RELEASE CLASSIFIED INFORMATION.
WHILE COMEY COULD HAVE LEGALLY GIVEN THE INFORMATION TO A CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEE OR ALERTED THEM
TO THE EXISTENCE OF THE MEMOS, HE CHOSE TO REMOVE THE MATERIAL AND LEAK THE INFORMATION
TO THE MEDIA.
COMEY IS ALSO COOPERATING WITH MUELLER AND THERE IS NO INDICATION THAT HE IS FACING A
CRIMINAL INQUIRY.
WHILE MCCABE WAS WORKING UNDER COMEY, IT IS NOT CLEAR IF COMEY KNEW OF THE ALLEGED LEAK
BY MCCABE.
IN A MAY 2017 CONGRESSIONAL HEARING, COMEY WAS ASKED IF HE HAD "EVER BEEN AN ANONYMOUS
SOURCE IN NEWS REPORTS ABOUT MATTERS RELATING TO THE TRUMP INVESTIGATION OR THE CLINTON
INVESTIGATION" OR WHETHER HE HAD "EVER AUTHORIZED SOMEONE ELSE AT THE FBI TO BE AN
ANONYMOUS SOURCE IN NEWS REPORTS ABOUT THE TRUMP INVESTIGATION OR THE CLINTON INVESTIGATION."
COMEY REPLIED, "NEVER" AND "NO."
If Comey and McCabe do not face charges, then it will prove that there is one set of standards
for swamp insiders and another for Trump and his team.
Which is just further proof that the Mueller probe is nothing more than an anti-Trump witch
hunt.
Trump supporters argue this is all the evidence Trump needs to shut this nonsense down immediately.
Do you think Trump should fire Mueller?

S. Korean official says Trump will meet with Kim Jong-un by May - Duration: 3:16.
South Korea's National Security Director in Washington to discuss the outcome of his meeting
with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made a rare podium announcement at the White House
following his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Breaking news out of Washington: let's go live to our chief Blue House correspondent
Moon Connyoung.
Connyoung.
One startling news after another from South Korea's presidential envoys who traveled to
the North earlier this week to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
They flew to Washington hinting more surprise was ahead... and we're learning - surprise
indeed.
South Korea's National Security Director Chung Eui-yong
delivered North Korean leader Kim's eagerness to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump on
denuclearization...
President Trump apparently accepted... even giving a timeline.
U.S. President Donald Trump told South Korea's Chung that he will meet with North Korea's
Kim Jong-un by May to achieve permanent denuclearization.
Now remember, that's not a whole lot of time.
The next few weeks will be a pretty dramatic one as the first summit between the leaders
of South and North Korea in over a decade is scheduled for late April.
So, we're assuming a Kim, Trump meeting to immediately follow that.
It is a dramatic turn in events.
Did we see this coming at all?
Well, President Trump apparently stopped by the White House press room - mind you, his
first time EVER - to give the reporters a heads up saying the South Korean delegation
there to meet him will make a "major announcement" concerning North Korea at 7 pm, eastern...
that's 9 a.m. here in Korea.
The actual announcement came around 20-25 minutes after the hour - so just moments ago,
really.
South Korea's presidential Blue House is devising a statement of its own on the latest development...
we're expecting the White House to also release an official stance... so we'll have more details
and updates for you in our later newscast, Mark.
