Trump says U.S. to be flexible on tariffs to true friends - Duration: 2:35.

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing 25 percent tariffs

on steel imports and ten percent on aluminum.

As he previously alluded to, Mexico and Canada are likely to be exempt pending the outcome

of ongoing negotiations on NAFTA.

Park Jong-hong reports.

In the end, President Trump stuck to his guns.

This despite fierce protests from trading partners and even collective concern from

members of the Republican party who claim the measures would weaken the competitiveness

of U.S. industries.

"Today, I'm defending America's national security by placing tariffs on foreign imports of steel

and aluminum.

We will have a 25 percent tariff on foreign steel and 10 percent on foreign aluminum when

the product comes across our borders."

But he held off a decision on Canada and Mexico saying that negotiations are ongoing on NAFTA.

He said if the U.S. strikes a deal, there will be no tariffs for the two countries but

if talks fall apart, the U.S. will terminate NAFTA and start all over again.

He did say that he's optimistic a deal would be reached.

In any case, Trump said 15 days remain until the tariffs take effect and exemptions will

be made on a case-by-case basis considering "fairness on trade."

President Trump spoke at length about how the U.S. industry had been taken advantage

of over the years.

He said millions of U.S. workers had been laid off as plants closed all across America

ravaged by the unfair trade practice called dumping.

He said this was not just a disaster for the economy but also national security.

In the future he added there will be many cases of reciprocal tax which is virtually

a tit for tat in tariffs between trading partners.

The tariff decision deals a blow to Korea which will have to come to grips with Trump's

move.

Seoul's Trade Minister Kim Hyun-jong has been meeting with Congressional and Senate leaders

pitching the message was that Korean steel is not a threat to the U.S. steel industry

and is actually contributing to the U.S. economy through local investments.

In the next 15 days, Korea plans to make a final pitch to try to minimize the tariff

impact.

Donald Trump Openly Charges Barack Obama For Criminal Conspiracies Against Him - Duration: 3:06.

Donald Trump Openly Charges Barack Obama For Criminal Conspiracies Against Him

For quite a while, the liberal media has been pushing the fake Russia narrative.

They want you to believe that Donald Trump worked with Russia to steal the election.

There's been no evidence.

But we still have to put up with a bogus investigation.

We are learning something much different, however.

Details have come out that the previous administration was violating the law.

They were using the discredited dossier of Christopher Steele's to justify warrants

against Trump's team.

Now Trump is firing back at former President Obama and listing the charges that Barack

committed against him.

The actions that Trump is charging on Obama are nothing short of shocking.

His words will no doubt spark new demands from the American people.

From Daily Caller:President Donald Trump took aim at the Department of Justice and FBI's

decision to investigate members of his campaign during the 2016 presidential election with

a Monday morning tweet…

Trump however has consistently questioned the FBI and Justice Department's investigations

into his campaign and has decried efforts as a "witch hunt" to prove collusion with

the Russian government.

The president has also repeatedly knocked his predecessor for not taking more forceful

action against the Russian government's efforts to meddle in the 2016 presidential

election.

The President and his allies have pointed to a recent memo from the Republican committee

staff on the House Intelligence Committee which alleges broad abuse of FISA authority

to spy on former Trump campaign staffer Carter Page.

The memo showed that the FBI used the politically motivated opposition research document, known

as the Steele dossier, as justification to obtain a surveillance warrant. It doesn't

matter who you supported in 2016.

Obama had no right to interfere in the election.

He used his power to spy on the Trump administration, based on zero evidence.

He violated the U.S. Constitution, in the hopes of finding dirt to smear the Trump campaign.

All to give 'Crooked Hillary' the win.

That sounds like collusion to me.

Sounds like a violation of our democracy too.

Yet where is the investigation?

For over a year we had to put up with Mueller's bogus case.

Nothing has proven that Trump did anything wrong.

But we have evidence that Obama did worse things than Watergate.

He abused numerous government agencies to spy on Americans.

So why isn't that administration in hot water?

It's up to us to demand justice.

We Americans must not let Obama and his cronies get away with their crimes.

We must demand our leaders to launch investigations that get to the truth of the matter.

Trump says U.S. to be flexible on tariffs to true friends - Duration: 2:37.

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing tariffs of 25 percent

on steel and ten percent on aluminum.

But, backtracking on an earlier "no exceptions" stance, Trump has decided to grant an exemption

to Mexico and Canada... for now.

That could change, though, depending on the ongoing negotiations on the North American

Free Trade Agreement, NAFTA.

Park Jong-hong reports.

In the end, President Trump stuck to his guns.

Expert's take on Trump agreeing to meet Kim Jong-un by May - Duration: 7:29.

Expert's take on Trump agreeing to meet Kim Jong-un by May

Let's get an expert's take on the extraordinary events of the past few hours.

I'm joined in the studio by Woo Jung-yeop, Research Fellow at the Sejong Institute.

Thanks for joining us.

Are you surprised North Korea offered a summit so quickly and that President Trump accepted

right away?

And as a sub-question to that -- considering Trump wants

to meet by May,... do

you think all the pre-summit groundwork can

be done

in that timeframe?

How do you explain this sudden and unexpected turnaround by Kim Jong-un,... a leader Trump

has ridiculed as "little Rocketman" and against whom he has threatened "fire and fury"?

Do you think North Korea has an ulterior motive for offering this summit out of the blue?

Surely Kim Jong-un has no intention of actually giving up his nuclear bombs and ballistic

missiles...

How much credit do you give President Trump for forcing North Korea back to the dialogue

table?

His supporters will say his policy of maximum pressure has worked

where the Obama policy of strategic patience failed.

And what of South Korea now.

President Moon and Kim Jong-un are going to meet for their own historic summit

at

the end

of April.

Do these latest developments change the dynamic

of

the Moon-Kim summit?

We appreciate for your insights and it would be great to have you back in studio when the

summits (hopefully) happen in April and May.

Thank you.

S. Korean official says Trump will meet with Kim Jong-un by May - Duration: 3:16.

South Korea's National Security Director in Washington to discuss the outcome of his meeting

with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made a rare podium announcement at the White House

following his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Breaking news out of Washington: let's go live to our chief Blue House correspondent

Moon Connyoung.

Connyoung.

One startling news after another from South Korea's presidential envoys who traveled to

the North earlier this week to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

They flew to Washington hinting more surprise was ahead... and we're learning - surprise

indeed.

South Korea's National Security Director Chung Eui-yong

delivered North Korean leader Kim's eagerness to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump on

denuclearization...

President Trump apparently accepted... even giving a timeline.

U.S. President Donald Trump told South Korea's Chung that he will meet with North Korea's

Kim Jong-un by May to achieve permanent denuclearization.

Now remember, that's not a whole lot of time.

The next few weeks will be a pretty dramatic one as the first summit between the leaders

of South and North Korea in over a decade is scheduled for late April.

So, we're assuming a Kim, Trump meeting to immediately follow that.

It is a dramatic turn in events.

Did we see this coming at all?

Well, President Trump apparently stopped by the White House press room - mind you, his

first time EVER - to give the reporters a heads up saying the South Korean delegation

there to meet him will make a "major announcement" concerning North Korea at 7 pm, eastern...

that's 9 a.m. here in Korea.

The actual announcement came around 20-25 minutes after the hour - so just moments ago,

really.

South Korea's presidential Blue House is devising a statement of its own on the latest development...

we're expecting the White House to also release an official stance... so we'll have more details

and updates for you in our later newscast, Mark.
