Trump news on Youtube Feb 23 2018

Our top story this afternoon...

The First Daughter of the United States, Ivanka Trump, is somewhere over the Pacific Ocean

at this hour... flying to South Korea to attend the closing ceremony of the PyeongChang Winter

Olympics.

North Korea is sending another high level delegation to PyeongChang,... but the chances

of the U.S. and North Korean delegates meeting are said to be slim to none.

Our Blue House correspondent Hwang Hojun starts us off.

With the grand finale of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics just a couple of days away, Ivanka

Trump, the eldest daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, will arrive in South Korea on

Friday, leading the U.S. delegation.

The delegation includes the White House press secretary, the commander of U.S. Forces Korea

and a U.S. senator.

A senior adviser to her father, Ivanka Trump is scheduled to dine with President Moon Jae-in

at the Blue House soon after she arrives.

Her meeting with President Moon is garnering much attention as she will likely be carrying

a personal message from President Trump that may mention the possibility of dialogue between

the U.S. and North Korea.

A high-level delegation from the North will once again head to the South on Sunday,....

also to attend the closing ceremony.

Kim Yong-chol,... the Vice Chair of the Workers' Party of Korea's central committee, will lead

the eight-member delegation.

Kim's visit to South Korea is stirring controversy because he's suspected of being the mastermind

of two deadly attacks on South Korea in 2010 - the sinking of the Cheonan warship, killing

46 South Korean soldiers,.... and the shelling of Yeonpyeong-do Island, killing four South

Koreans.

So, while their stays will overlap,... the prospects of them meeting, let alone having

direct contact, seems highly unlikely; especially as both the Blue House and the White House

have ruled it out.

Dialogue between the U.S. and North Korea was incorrectly anticipated by some during

the opening ceremony of the quadrennial event, in which U.S. Vice President Mike Pence and

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's younger sister Kim Yo-jong attended.

It was later reported that a secret meeting between the U.S. and the North Koreans was

canceled by Pyongyang at the last minute.

On Thursday local time, Pence slammed Kim Yo-jong, while giving an address at the Conservative

Political Action Conference, saying, quote, "the sister of Kim Jong-un is a central pillar

of the most tyrannical and oppressive regime on the planet."

He was unapologetic on the fact that he stayed seated when the North Korean athletes entered

the stadium, saying the U.S. quote "doesn't stand with murderous dictatorships."

Trump

Goes on Twitter Firestorm, Turns Obama Quote from

2016 Election Against Him

President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to point out that just weeks

before Election Day in 2016, then-President Barack Obama suggested it would be close to

impossible to rig a presidential election.

Trumps tweets came in response to claims that his campaign colluded with Russia to

defeat former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and win the presidency.

But during an October 2016 news conference with then-Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi,

it was Obama who told Trump to stop whining about election rigging.

There is no serious person out there who would suggest somehow that you could even

rig Americas elections, in part because theyre so decentralized and the numbers

of votes involved, Obama said at the time, according to Politico.

Theres no evidence that that has happened in the past or that there are instances in

which that will happen this time, he added.

And so, Id advise Mr. Trump to stop whining and go try to make his case to get

votes.

When I easily won the Electoral College, the whole game changed and the Russian excuse

became the narrative of the Dems, Trump wrote, not long after Fox & Friends

also cited Obamas quote.

Fox News noted that Obama was addressing Trump claims that voter fraud within the U.S.

could affect the election, not Russian meddling.

But Trump seized on the words Tuesday to put them into the current context of Russian election

meddling.

The presidents comments came just days after special counsel Robert Mueller officially

charged 13 Russians and three Russian companies for attempting to interfere in the 2016 election.

As The Western Journal reported, the indictments essentially verify that Russian agents did,

in fact, attempt to meddle in the U.S. election process, using a sophisticated system of social

media and other online elements to foment disruption.

However, the indictments have, at least thus far, brushed away the possibility that any

American officials were knowingly involved in the process.

Now, there is no allegation in this indictment that any American was a knowing participant

in this illegal activity, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said Friday during

a news conference that offered more specifics of the indictments.

There is no allegation in the indictment that the charged conduct altered the outcome

of the 2016 election.

Mullers report included what Republicans are calling even more vindication for the

Trump campaign team.

In addition to finding that no American was knowingly involved and that Russian activities

did not ultimately sway the presidential election, the exhaustive report also determined that

the Russian operation began as early as 2014, long before Trump launched his campaign, and

that they sought to boost Sen. Bernie Sanders campaign during the Democrat primaries.

On Twitter, Trump celebrated Muellers findings, and criticized the fake news media for

not reporting enough on the subject

Trump later said on Tuesday that he has been much tougher on Russia than Obama.

JUST IN: President Trump CAVES To Liberals On Gun Control - Duration: 5:43.

JUST IN: President Trump CAVES To Liberals On Gun Control

President Donald Trump directed Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Tuesday to finalize plans

to ban bump stocks, Breitbart reports.

President Trump had previously positioned himself as a champion for gun rights, throughout

his campaign and the first year as President of the United States but unfortunately he

is caving to liberals calling for gun control.Under current Federal Law, a person must be a minimum

of 18 to purchase a shotgun or rifle and must be 21 to purchase a handgun.

In the United States, anybody who wants to buy a gun from a federally licensed firearms

dealer (FFL) is subject to a background check.

Since 1998, when the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, went online.

AFF News article on NICS as well as a comprehensive list of government data collection agencies.

National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) The National Instant Criminal

Background Check System, or NICS, is all about saving lives and protecting people from harm—by

not letting guns fall into the wrong hands.

It also ensures the timely transfer of firearms to eligible gun buyers.

To purchase a firearm, a person is required to fill out the 6 page ATF form 4473. which

includes 16 questions relating to your background, drug use, and criminal history. The FFL dealer

obtains your current State Drivers License to fill out their portion of the ATF form

and then they are required to contact NICS and provide the information on the ATF form,

including your social security number.

The information is then ran through NICS to obtain either a "cleared" or "not cleared"

for firearm ownership.

Anything that makes a person too high-risk to possess a firearm, in the eyes of the law

which includes criminal and mental health history, dishonorable military discharges,

unlawful immigration status, an open warrant, a documented history of domestic violence,

and drug use.

The information is ran through 3 different data bases to obtain clearance or denial for

the individual.

If the check comes back clean, the FBI gives the sale a green light.

If it doesn't, the purchase is denied.

Sometimes the FBI seeks more information in order to make a final determination.

In those cases, the check is transferred to the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services

Division, where an examiner reaches out to local law enforcement and other state agencies. So

the argument that anyone can buy a "gun" and it is so easy and no real checks are in

place, is complete lies and propaganda.

So what are these evil "Bump Stocks" that mainstream media and anti-gun groups keep

going after and what do they actually do?

First thing to know is that a bump stock DOES NOT convert a semi-auto firearm into a full

auto machine gun.

That is a lie and a misconception my very uneducated people on firearm knowledge and

firearm mechanisms.

A bump stock is an accessory for a firearm, an accessory, not a "conversion device."

In other words, the devices are add-on accessories that allow a gun owner to briefly mimic automatic

fire but they do not convert the gun into an automatic firearm.

Bump stocks do not improve accuracy, in fact, it is the opposite, they are extremely inaccurate

and more of a spray-n-pray novelty as well as destroy the barrels due to intense amount

of heat.

As Breitbart previously reported, The devices are made for cheap thrills, literally.

They are $200 devices that can be affixed to a gun to allow the gun owner to mimic automatic

fire at the range.

Consider Vasquez–the former ATF official and Marine quoted earlier–who said: "[Bump

stocks are] for those guys who want to look like super ninja when they're out on the

range — they're the people my peer group makes fun of.

If you want a machine gun, join the Marines."

All this comes come together to reinforce the earlier point–bump stocks do not convert

semiautomatic firearms into automatic weapons.

Rather, they are for novelty and they work best for short bursts that mimic automatic

fire at the gun range.

Moreover, they render the gun less accurate.

How a bump stock actually functions: Bump stocks are simple pieces of equipment that

replace the stock of a rifle and add a small "support step" in front of the trigger.

The shooter rests his finger on this step and pulls forward on the barrel or forward

grip to press the trigger against his finger.

The recoil of the shot then propels the rifle backwards into a gap in stationary stock where

the loose fit gives the rifle freedom to bounce forward.

This, along with sustained forward pressure on the rifle, has the effect of 'bumping'

the trigger back into the shooter's unmoving finger.

So long as a shooter maintains forward pressure, the rifle will continue to fire at a rate

much faster than could be accomplished with even the quickest possible series of manual

trigger pulls.

As Breitbart reports, the Bump Fire Stock has only been used in 1 high profile case

in the United States and it is mainstream media and corrupt politicians that are pushing

the anti-gun groups agenda to ban them:

Bump stocks were not used in the February 14 attack in Florida.

Nor were they used in the Texas church attack (November 5, 2017), the Alexandria attack

(June 14, 2017), the Orlando attack (June 12, 2016), the San Bernardino attack (December

2, 2015), the Umpqua Community College attack (October 1, 2015), the Lafayette movie theater

attack (July 23, 2015), the Chattanooga attack (July 16, 2015), the Emanuel African Methodist

Episcopal attack (Jun 17, 2015), the Santa Barbara attack (May 23, 2014), the Fort Hood

attack (April 2, 2014), the D.C. Navy Yard attack (September 16, 2013), the Aurora movie

theater attack (July 20, 2012), the Gabby Giffords (January 8, 2011) attack, or the

Virginia Tech attack (April 16, 2007), among others.

In fact, the October 1, 2017, Las Vegas attack is the only high profile public attack in

which a bump stock was used criminally.

All the facts point to, the blunt truth and that is, this is NOT about bump stocks, it

is about the crack in the door to allow the snake inside, so they can go after the 2nd

amendment and ban ALL guns.

Beginning Of The End? 2nd Amendment Under Fire As Trump Makes Startling Announcement - Duration: 6:07.

Beginning Of The End?

2nd Amendment Under Fire As Trump Makes Startling Announcement

In the wake of the Florida school shooting, liberal pundits are calling for extreme bans

on gun ownership.

Now, it looks like the beginning of the end for our Second Amendment after President Donald

Trump made a stunning announcement, leaving many wondering, "Is he about to cave?"Most

of you know the facts.

Stricter gun control has never prevented violence.

In fact, the cities with the tightest gun control laws suffer the most.

Criminals do not follow gun laws and, thanks to "gun-free" zones, are able to kill

without fear.Yet, in the aftermath of this recent shooting, outlets like CNN have pushed

for extreme gun control.

They are even advocating for a complete ban on all firearms.

It's clear they are manipulating this attack and the emotions of many Americans to push

their toxic agenda.

Now, some wonder if President Trump is caving to gun control demands.

In a recent tweet, he called for stronger requirements for gun ownership, including

an age limit, denying young American adults their constitutional right.

This latest announcement has gun owners outraged and people questioning what's next.I will

be strongly pushing Comprehensive Background Checks with an emphasis on Mental Health.

Raise age to 21 and end sale of Bump Stocks!

Congress is in a mood to finally do something on this issue – I hope!"

Donald Trump tweeted. This comes as a surprise after President Trump's initial reaction

to the Parkland shooting.

In his address to the nation, Trump focused on comforting the victims and addressing the

real causes of mass shootings.

He especially focused on mental health and rebuilding our communities, and not once did

he mention guns.

Our administration is working closely with local authorities to investigate the shooting

and learn everything we can.

We are committed to working with state and local leaders to help secure our schools and

tackle the difficult issue of mental health.

Later this month, I will be meeting with the nation's governors and attorney generals,

where making our schools and our children safer will be our top priority.

[Source: Buzzfeed] His latest statement comes after he met with

families of the victims from Florida.

While some in attendance recommended better solutions — like arming teachers with concealed

firearms — the President still floated these much more liberal-sounding ideas.

During the almost two-hour session, Trump left the floor open for suggestions to prevent

school shootings.

One parent floated the idea of concealed-carry for teachers—an idea the president discussed

at length with support, noting the administration would look "very strongly" at the option.

His Thursday morning tweets seemed to double down on his earlier comments, even as he criticized

media coverage.

[Source: Fox News] Let's look at the President's recent statement.

Background checks are already in place.

People with criminal records cannot legally purchase firearms.

We also have long waiting periods and other hurdles that law-abiding citizens must endure.

"Mental health" checks won't do much, as not everyone with mental health problems

has those issues documented.

You also have to consider how gun sellers will be able to access health records in order

to sell guns.

Does that mean the government will compile a database on every American's mental health?

How is that going to happen, unless the government violates our privacy?

After all, your health is supposed to stay between you and your doctor.

What about people who had mental health issues in the past, like depression or other problems,

but are free and clear today?

That blight on their record might deny them access to firearms for the rest of their life.

Their rights will be infringed, and they will be much less safe.

Knowing this, it might actually discourage some from seeking help.

Why should teenagers, with no desires to do harm, be punished because of Nikolas Cruz?

There are plenty of Americans under the age of 21 who safely use firearms.

Most people learn about gun safety as children.

To deny them access to guns is a clear attempt by liberals to prevent future generations

from arming themselves.

Furthermore, isn't it a bit hypocritical to say 18-year-old men are able to be sent

off to war but can't be trusted with a firearm?

So, why would Trump suggest that?

And, we all know about bump stocks.

These devices do not turn firearms into "automatic weapons."

Even the Obama administration reviewed them and determined they did not need to be banned.

In fact, under certain circumstances, they are a useful aid for people with disabilities.

Banning them means many Americans will be denied the basic right to self-defense.

It's clear all the recommendations in Trump's recent tweet are terrible.

They will not prevent mass shootings.

They will only deny Americans access to firearms.

The only things that will prevent future deaths in schools are armed security and law enforcement

that actually responds to tips.Nikolas Cruz would have never been able to kill those people

had the FBI done their job.

And, if a few teachers were armed at Parkland, the death toll would have been null.

Perhaps President Trump knows these suggestions won't be enough for Democrats and this is

all a bluff as part of the "art of the deal."

If not, hopefully, Trump and the GOP will come to their senses before the Second Amendment

is destroyed for good.
