Trump news on Youtube Oct 6 2017

the crisis in Puerto Rico presented Donald Trump with the opportunity to

step up and embody one of the most significant roles of a president during

a time of national crisis the role of comforter in chief during times of

tragedy whether natural or man-made Americans have looked to their

presidents for hope and reassurance and how presidents respond for better or

worse can wind up defining their legacies Ronald Reagan rose to the

occasion after the Challenger disaster in 1986 George W Bush was praised for

his bullhorn addressed to first responders after 9/11 though he was

later condemned for his flyover after Hurricane Katrina President Obama

offered hugs and reassurance to the people of Joplin Missouri after a deadly

tornado there in 2011 and then we have Donald Trump the president who responded

to a desperate plea for help in Puerto Rico with mean tweets joining me now is

michelle bernard president of the bernard center for women politics and

public policy Corrine jump here senior advisor for moveon.org

media and political analyst Steve Adubato and Republican strategist and

then Siegfried and thank you all for being here I'm gonna start with the

ladies here at the table and I'll go to I'll go to you first to read on this

Quinnipiac has a new poll out that has some pretty dire numbers for the Donald

Trump of the way he is performing his presidency thus far and it was taken you

know so a lot of it is during this era Maria period 56% say that he's not fit

to be president that's not different than when he was running on those who

say they are embarrassed to have a best president 51% majority say they're

embarrassed to have him as president 57% disapprove of the overall job he's

doing and fifty fifty seven percent disapprove of the overall job that he's

doing so these are not good marks they're not you know they're not good

marks do you think that Donald Trump changes any of these numbers by the way

that he's performing visa vie hurricane Maria or is this just the way it's gonna

be for for this is just him it's definitely just him it's who he is I

mean just when you think the president hits rock bottom he finds a way to take

it even lower and I think when you look at Puerto Rico it really brings out the

worst toxic brew of Donald Trump which is the racism

which is incompetence and also just the the egomaniac that he is and that's what

we're seeing I mean we were talking about 3.4 million people who are really

trying to survive and and fighting for their life they have no medicine the

food is running out there's no water no electricity and this is what he does

from a luxury resort right tooth and then talking to the poles as well like

he's making money hand over fist what he's doing every time he's at golfing at

his resort and he has no shame about it but yet he's ok with attacking the mayor

from the 18th green that's what he does Michelle you know it's interesting that

uh just it just so happens that the attacks on the mayor of San Juan a woman

of color happened to come a year to the day after Donald Trump went on our

tweets from attacking Alicia Machado also a Latina who was the former Miss

Universe he does seem to have a reflex when it comes to women of color yeah

yeah with all women but particularly with women of color I mean the way that

he has attacked her is just absolutely like revolting you know I was speaking

with a tenured professor from Howard University last night who's a

psychologist to try to get a grasp on what it is we're dealing with

yeah with Donald Trump she's he's not her patient she's never spoken him but

she watches the news like everyone else and she's explaining to me the level of

narcissism that we see in this man and the fact that the country has to deal

with it and it's that narcissism that led him to attack the mayor of San Juan

San Juan and I don't know if you see but their photos all are online you know

with pictures of them at the exact same time yeah he is hitting the ball on the

green just in ways saving in water yes saving wild water Rico yeah and they

don't have to question yourself is it because she's a woman is it because

people speak Spanish there is it because he made me was not sure that these are

actually Americans and that Puerto Rico is you know a territory of the United

States government I mean whatever it is it is absolutely repulsive this makes

the response to Hurricane Katrina look it makes like Katrina look good yeah

like it was just sweet people trying to do their best and couldn't do it this

looks intentional yeah and I think with Katrina the idea what

was sort of indifference or incompetence here where it seems to be you know

malice yeah you know you you you you're you know you write about leadership this

is what your book was about this is a lot of what you talked about and Donald

Trump is of course the President of the United States and so it's sort of the

person who's in this position of supposed to you know sort of unify the

country in moments like this but this was his Treasury secretary explaining

why instead of doing that he attacked the mayor of San Juan this was his

Treasury secretary trying to explain that to us call me the press

you mentioned the governor but you're not mentioning the mayor why did he

attack the mirror she's in a situation of a pretty desperate situation and seem

to lack a little bit of empathy for the situation at the time why did he do this

well I think as you know when the president gets attack he attacks back

and I think the mayor's comments were unfair given what the federal government

is done Steve is that a good enough explanation when you're talking about

the president united states joy I want to trying to control the emotions the

feelings I have right now screw politics this is not about

politics it's not about Democrats Republicans conservatives or liberals I

happen to be a Roman Catholic doesn't matter what religion you are whether you

believe in religion the human side of this the human pain and suffering that

we all see in Puerto Rico 3.4 million people suffering the fact that the

president United States chose to attack mayor Cruz of San Juan forget about

where she's coming from politically he attacks her and says she's been pushed

by Democrats to say nasty things about Trump the insanity of that while people

are suffering to make this about himself as he said by other people before the

golf thing speaks for itself he talked about optics of firing you know one of

his cabinet members for optics because of private planes look at those optics

right now look at those pictures I say to every Trump supporter around this

country I don't care if you think that we're the progressive liberal Trump

bashing media ask yourself what those optics tell you ask yourself if those

pictures tell you that we have a president that gives a damn about people

who are suffering forget about who praises him and who criticizes him rise

above it and so for his second to say when he gets attacked he attacked

back I wasn't a big fan of Barack Obama in a lot of situations when he got

attacked he rose above it when he got attacked

he found the good in people and tried to bring them together this is a president

who gets a plus for divisive this and a big F for bringing this nation together

and in my book leadership is about bringing people together in the worst of

times and yet and yet you know there for some people there's a sort of a method

to the madness right lin-manuel Miranda's father at least Miranda a

former longtime public official in New York and of course they being both are

Puerto Rican and so and very proud wrote a piece in the New York Daily News in

which he he said to Donald Trump speaking to him we all know what the

president is really doing throwing red meat to the only supporters he has left

who feast upon his insults about minorities the Republican Party members

of it they're very few that have said much in response to what Donald Trump

has done is it because they too are in thrall to that same base who they know

this is going to be popular with yes they are a little bit scared of blowback

from the base but let's look at what's going on here what is happening in

Puerto Rico and with the president's disgusting tweet attacking the mayor of

San Juan yesterday it's a symptom of a larger overall problem the president is

isolated impotent and has an overblown sense of grievance and this is extending

to everything he feels he needs to be getting credit for things he shouldn't

be getting credit for because he has very few accomplishments he's becoming

isolated in that congressional Republicans largely ignore him and just

don't even talk about him or honor his requests from the White House he has no

real legislative track record he has only executive orders to show for what

he's done as a president and he's got a further divided nation at the same time

when we look at what he was saying yesterday I'm it sounds like a valley

girl oh my god there in gray I mean why don't they appreciate me there's just

this conspiracy we have a high school girl as president of the United States

essentially who's trying to make it all about him in his ego as opposed to the

fact that 55% of the people in Puerto Rico have drink don't have drinkable

water 90% don't have cell service and only 5%

have electric power the White House did drop the ball in the second week on

Puerto Rico and the optics are very bad and deserve

so but it's now all about how people don't appreciate the very great things

that are going on there I think the word he used impotence I think is really

important here and it's key I mean if you think about the optics the mayor

there was no direct attack on Donald Trump and the woman humbles herself and

goes on on worldwide television and is begging for help to save lives and the

best that he could come back with was an attack and statements that they want us

to do everything for them you know it's not a direct attack they're saying

10,000 troops is not enough people need water people need food people need to be

evacuated please help us and so right so you have to question yourself are we

really looking at what happens when when and when a man like Donald Trump feels

impotent this is the best he can give the country the country deserves more

yeah it's be quickly joi real quick Sunday morning people across this

country many of them go to church they worship they don't but they have a sense

that it's Sunday for all those Trump supporters when he spoke to the

evangelicals and tried to quote try to quote the Bible terribly ask yourself

what Jesus would have done ask yourself what any decent person would do that is

not what the president is doing people need to check themselves and ask

themselves why they're defending this president at this time with so many

people suffering and just asking begging for help this is not political it's

humanitarian or in the case of a lot of members of the Republican Party in

Washington just being quiet and silent about it on the shelling Kareem will be

back thank you guys very much we'll be back a little bit Steve Adubato and

Evans Siegfried thank you gentlemen thank you

U.S. will do what it must to stop North Korea's threats: Trump - Duration: 0:39.

U.S. President Donald Trump threw another cryptic warning directed at North Korea.

That his country will use all means necessary... to counter the regime's threat.

At a meeting with senior military officials Thursday,... he discussed a range of security

issues... including Pyongyang and the Iran nuke deal.

Trump emphasized Washington's ultimate goal... is denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula,...

and added the U.S. will do what it must... to protect itself and its allies from the

hermit kingdom's threats.

The comments seem to resonate the tone set in his speech at the UN General Assembly...

where he vowed to "totally destroy" North Korea... if Washington was forced into action.

California defy's Trump by protecting 2.6million ILLEGAL immigrants 'who live in fear'

The bills, signed by the state's Governor Jerry Brown, inherently defy the hard-line taken by Donald Trump that attempt to solve the country's issues of immigration.

Mr Brown said: "These are uncertain times for undocumented Californians and their families, and this bill strikes a balance that will protect public safety while bringing a measure of comfort to those families who are now living in fear every day.

This action protects public safety and ensures hard-working people who contribute to our state are respected." The legislation, that was approved last month and will be enforced from January, limits law enforcement officials from helping federal immigration authorities round up and deal with illegal immigrants.

Law enforcement officers will also be unable to detain an illegal immigrant on a hold request from the federal government unless a felony or warrant is involved.

US Attorney General Jeff Sessions has displayed his protest against the new bills that will ensure that 2.6million illegal immigrants stay in the state by labelling them "sanctuary jurisdictions".

He added: "Sanctuary policies endanger us all, and especially the federal immigration officers who are forced to pursue criminal aliens outside of jails and prisons." The bills, that limit the effectiveness of law enforcement officers, were addressed by White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders who stated that Washington is "spending every day we can trying to find the best way forward".

Sanders continued: "The President will be laying out his responsible immigration plan over the next week.

"And I hope that California will push back on their Governors, I think, irresponsible decision moving forward." California has long been a rebellious state that goes against the will of the President - the state was the first to legalise medical marijuana in 1996.

Donald Trump is famous for his firm stance on immigration with his promises to construct a wall between the US and Mexico being one of his most prominent policies on the campaign trail.

Contractors are currently at work on eight prototypes for the wall that will severely inhibit the number of illegal immigrants crossing America's southern border.

Once constructed, the US Customs and Border Protection will decide which of the prototypes, if any, it wishes to use on the barrier.

Donald Trump stated his intention for the wall to be see-through, indicating that traditional concrete designs would be shunned. Trump has previously reiterated that Mexico will pay for the construction of the wall.

The President tweeted: "With Mexico being one of the highest crime Nations in the world, we must have the wall. Mexico will pay for it through reimbursement/other.".

Trump Cabinet Members Create "Suicide Pact" In Case Any Of Them Get Fired - Duration: 3:54.

By now, I'm sure everybody's heard about the drama that's been unfolding about Secretary

of State Rex Tillerson over the last few days where it was reported over the summer he called

Donald Trump a moron.

When asked about it in an interview he didn't refute it, although Donald Trump insists that

Tillerson did not in fact call him a moron.

Well, as it turns out, as this story was developing, BuzzFeed released a report saying that Treasury

Secretary Steve Mnuchin and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson have all formed a kind of suicide

pact, meaning that if any one of them gets fired, the other two are going to quit their

jobs as well.

You can't lose one without losing all three.

The report didn't necessarily go on to state why they had formed this suicide pact, but

presumably it's so that they all have a little bit more power within the administration,

and so the president knows that I can't get rid of one of them without losing all three.

Now, Republicans have come out in the last few days and said that Tillerson, Mattis,

and John Kelly, Donald Trump's Chief of Staff, not Steve Mnuchin, are the only ones preventing

chaos within the White House, so it's interesting as to why Mnuchin would be included in the

suicide pact and not General Kelly, but regardless, Mnuchin's in there, and to be honest, I say

let them go.

Let all three of these people go from the administration.

They might be preventing what some Republicans are calling chaos from happening within the

White House, but not a single one of them is doing a decent job.

None of them are good enough to be doing what they're doing save maybe for Mattis, but Mnuchin

and Tillerson?

No.

These guys came from industry.

They have no idea how the government truly works.

Rex Tillerson has been talking to people in Korea and people in Russia trying to work

out oil deals for his former employer, the company he ran, Exxon.

Mnuchin is a guy who actually should be in prison rather than serving as the Treasury

Secretary, so their little suicide pact, I'm all for it, because I'm all for every one

of them getting removed from the Trump Administration, because they're not doing any good.

Oh, maybe they're preventing Donald Trump from launching nuclear weapons.

Maybe they're not.

We don't know.

All we do know is that if Donald Trump actually wanted to do something, he's going to do it

anyway regardless of what these three people tell him he should or shouldn't do.

They're not serving any actual function within the White House other than to make this country

look even worse than it already has gotten under Trump.

They are not good at their jobs, again, save Mattis.

Mattis not horrible, but Mnuchin and Tillerson, it's time for these guys to go.

I know Donald Trump wants them to go, so let's see how serious they are about their suicide

pact as soon as Donald Trump decides that he's had enough of Tillerson and he can't

take this moron talk any longer, because we already know it's starting to get under Trump's

skin, and we know that Tillerson did not refute the fact that he said it.

Let's see how this unfolds in the next few days, and I'm sure it's probably not going

to go in Donald Trump's favor, but I'm more interested in seeing if these three people

in the administration actually adhere to their suicide pact.

Whiny Donald Trump Asks Why Senate Isn't Investigating "Fake News Networks" - Duration: 3:45.

Donald Trump clearly woke up on Thursday morning on the wrong side of the bed because he immediately,

first thing this morning started tweeting out about the alleged fake news media.

In fact, he went as far as to say that the Senate Intelligence Committee needs to be

investigating the fake news networks here in the United States.

He said "Why isn't the Senate Intel Committee looking into the fake news networks in our

country, OUR was in all caps to see why so much of our news is just made up.

Fake." Trump tweeted.

First and foremost they actually kind of are already looking into the whole fake news things

by investigating those Russian ads that were purchased on Facebook and Twitter, so I wouldn't

say that they're not investigating the fake news.

Furthermore, and this is something that you need to get drilled into your brain, perhaps

tattoo it across your forehead, just because a news outlet reports something about you

that isn't flattering doesn't mean it's fake.

Donald Trump is specifically referring to the instance, the reports that came out from

NBC news that Tillerson called him a "moron" over the summer.

Tillerson then gave a press conference, did not directly refute that he called Trump a

"moron" and since his press conference more reports came out showing that "yes" people

there said he did call him a "moron" and in fact he called him a little bit worse than

that, but Donald Trump took that as whatever kind of vindication he needed.

Tillerson didn't call him a "moron", so anybody reporting on it is in fact fake news and maybe

even a "moron" themselves.

But that's not how it works.

Tillerson did not deny calling Donald Trump a "moron", which Trump said he did, but he

didn't and two, the media's going keep reporting what they want to report unless you sue them

for liable.

Did you think about that?

If it actually were fake news, if they were completely making things up, just fabricating

it out of nowhere to defame you, you can absolutely sue for liable, but you're not doing that

and you're the king of frivolous lawsuits, so if you honestly thought that it wasn't

real news you would have already had your lawyers working on this case.

What you are doing and this is something everybody needs to understand, Donald Trump's constant

attacks on the media are an effort to downplay the actual investigations going on into his

administration and his many failures that he's had since becoming president.

If people think the news media's fake when they come out and report how horrible Donald

Trump is or what's happening in the investigation, they won't think it's real, but again, it's

not working anymore.

The majority of the public has a higher trust in the media than they do in Donald Trump.

The majority of American voters do not trust Donald Trump.

They do not want to see him run for president again and they do not trust him to handle

any kind of crisis here in the United States.

Donald Trump is losing his battle against the media and right now that is the only weapon

he has to energize his base and as we've seen from polls, as we've seen from public opinion,

it's starting to backfire on him tremendously.

Rex Tillerson Called Trump a Moron: A Closer Look - Duration: 10:36.

-As he continues to deal with the aftermath

of his disastrous response to the humanitarian crisis

in Puerto Rico, President Trump is now also

dealing with an internal crisis --

a simmering feud with the Secretary of State.

For more on this, it's time for "A Closer Look."

♪♪

[ Cheers and applause ]

After his tour of Puerto Rico, where he chided Puerto Ricans

for throwing the budget out of whack

and tossed paper towels into the crowd

like he was at the free-throw line,

Trump did what he always does -- bragged about his performance

and made up a bizarre and completely unnecessary lie

about how unprecedented his trip was.

He told reporters on Air Force One...

[ Laughter ]

You think this is the first time a sitting President

has visited hurricane victims?

This isn't even the first time you've done it!

[ Laughter ]

You were just in Texas and Florida a few weeks ago.

Remember? Oh, no! You don't remember, do you?

[ Laughter ]

This is turning into "50 First Dates,"

but for hurricanes.

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

In a way, though...

In a way, though, Trump is right.

This is the first time a sitting President

has embarrassed himself this much

while trying to comfort the victims of a natural disaster.

For example, after he threw supplies at hurricane victims,

the crowd literally had to tell him to stop.

According to the "Washington Post"...

[ Laughter ]

My God.

Our President had to be told not to throw cans of chicken...

[ Laughter ] ...at hurricane victims.

I wouldn't be surprised if he only built Trump Tower

so he could drop pennies off the roof.

[ Laughter ]

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

Of all...

[ Cheers and applause ]

Of all Trump's missteps in Puerto Rico, there's one that is

perhaps the most embarrassing and also the most revealing.

At the church where supplies were being handed out,

he encountered a church member

giving out water purification tablets.

Basically, these tablets turn dirty water

into clean drinking water, and not only could Trump

not believe it worked, he couldn't believe

they were giving it away for free.

Here's how that exchange went, according to the "Post"...

Trump genuinely cannot contemplate doing something

out of the goodness of your heart.

He just assumes it must be a scam.

[ Imitating Trump ] So you give them the dirty water,

but you say it's clean?

[ Normal voice ] No, it's clean.

[ Imitating Trump ] Oh, so you clean the water,

but then you sell it for double the price?

[ Normal voice ] No, we give it away for free.

[ Imitating Trump ] Oh, I get it. So while they're

drinking the water, you go around

and steal all their wallets? [ Laughter ]

[ Normal voice ] But this -- this is yet another reminder

to the evangelicals who support Trump.

He doesn't understand church. [ Laughter ]

[ Imitating Trump ] What's Jesus' cut, 20%?

That's very good. That's a lot of cans of chicken.

[ Laughter ]

[ Normal voice ] But after embarrassing himself,

insulting the people of Puerto Rico,

and repeatedly bringing up the financial cost

of the recovery, Trump out of nowhere

seemed to throw Puerto Rico a potential lifeline.

Right now the government of Puerto Rico is dealing

with an economic crisis and billions of dollars in debt

bought up by hedge funds and other Wall Street firms

who have blocked any attempt to allow Puerto Rico

to restructure its debt or declare bankruptcy.

But as Trump was leaving the island on Tuesday,

he seemed to suggest he might support

forgiving Puerto Rico's debt completely.

-We're going to work something out.

We have to look at their whole debt structure.

You know, they owe a lot of money

to your friends on Wall Street, and we're going to have to

wipe that out. That's gonna have to be, uh,

you know, you can say goodbye to that.

I don't know if it's Goldman Sachs,

but whoever it is, you can wave goodbye to that.

-Well, that would be easy. I've been waving goodbye

to things since you became President.

Bye, Constitution! Bye, good night's sleep!

Bye, half the people I know on Facebook!

[ Cheers and applause ]

But forgiving Puerto Rico's debt

would be a truly transformative step.

It would go a long way to alleviating the suffering

of Puerto Ricans and make up for many of Trump's missteps

in handling the crisis, so naturally,

his budget director, Mick Mulvaney,

went on TV the next morning to tell people,

"Don't listen to the President."

-The President seemed to suggest that he is open

to wiping out the Puerto Rican debt.

Is that to be taken seriously on its face?

-I wouldn't take it word for word with that --

-Agreed. No one should ever take Trump word for word.

It's far more fun to take his words

and then put them in an order that you find interesting.

-I have Wall Street friends. I have a lot of money.

I have butt hole. I have butt hole. I have butt hole.

Goodbye.

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ] -Very proud of that.

[ Cheers and applause ]

Of course, the President isn't content to botch

just one crisis, which is why he's in the process

of botching another -- North Korea's nuclear program.

The international community has been desperately pursuing

every diplomatic angle to avoid what would certainly be

a catastrophic war, and Trump's own government

has been working with the U.N. Security Council,

China, and even through back channels

of North Korea itself to resolve the conflict peacefully.

So once again, Trump threw all that out the window

when he tweeted out of nowhere over the weekend...

So all the careful diplomacy and bargaining and angling

just goes out the window with one tweet.

It's like everyone is playing an intense game of Jenga,

and Trump is the rambunctious golden retriever

barging through the doggy door. [ Laughter ]

Also, I wouldn't be too concerned

that Rex Tillerson is expending a lot of energy.

He looks like the guy sitting in a rocking chair

outside the corner store who says...

[ Elderly Southern voice ] Storm's a-comin'. I can feel it

in my knees. [ Laughter ]

[ Applause ]

[ Normal voice ] So Trump has once again undercut

the diplomatic efforts of the Secretary of State,

which has happened so many times,

that Tillerson apparently threatened to resign

over the summer,

according to a report yesterday from NBC News.

But the fact that Tillerson threatened to resign

is not the most damning part of the story.

That, of course, had to do

with what Tillerson called Trump behind his back.

-At a meeting at the Pentagon

with the President's National Security team,

there were cabinet officials, White House officials.

The President attended. He left.

The group was gathering. There were a number of people around,

and the Secretary called the President a moron.

Wow. And Tillerson has that great Texas accent,

so you know he really stretched it out.

[ Southern accent ] That guy is a more-ron.

[ Laughter ]

[ Normal voice ] Now, obviously, this story was based

on anonymous sources, and the State Department denied it,

which is why MSNBC did their own reporting

on exactly what Tillerson said

and issued an important clarification later that day.

-My source didn't just say that he called him a moron.

He said "an effing moron."

[ Laughter ]

-This story keeps getting better and better.

Seriously, I can't wait for the next update.

Oh, here it is right here. "Sources have further clarified

"that Tillerson called Trump a 'straight up nose-pickin'

"'mouth-breathin', missed-a-belt-loop...

[bleep] more-on.'"

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

Tillerson, of course, was forced to issue a statement

at a hastily arranged press conference yesterday,

where he took the extraordinary step of trying to assure

the American people that the President is not,

in fact, a moron.

-Let me tell you what I've learned about this President,

whom I did not know before taking this office.

He loves his country.

He puts Americans and America first.

He's smart...

-Man, to think a guy's a moron and then be forced

to publicly say he's smart.

I guess when your name is Rex,

you're gonna be good at rolling over.

[ Laughter ] Good boy, Rex! Good boy!

[ Applause ] Oh, stay away from the Jenga!

[ Applause ] Now, yesterday, while he was

in Las Vegas, Trump was asked about the Tillerson story

in his comments afterwards and could not stop himself

from attacking the media.

Watch as he keeps saying "thank you"

as if to stop talking and then continues to ramble.

-Yeah, I'm very honored by his comments. It was fake news.

It was a totally phony story. Thank you very much.

It was made up. It was made up by NBC.

They just made it up. Thank you all.

-Do you have confidence in him? -Thank you.

-Total confidence in Rex. I have total confidence.

Thank you very much, everybody. [ Camera shutters clicking ]

-You can almost see the angel and devil on his shoulders

wrestling for control.

[ Devilish voice ] Say it was fake news!

[ High-pitched voice ] No, say thank you and leave.

[ Devilish voice ] Call it a phony story!

[ High-pitched voice ] Walk away and don't throw chicken cans!

[ Devilish voice ] Throw the chicken! Throw it!

[ High-pitched voice ] No, throw the paper towels

but not the chicken!

[ Devilish voice ] Throw the chicken,

but wrap it in paper towels so they think it's soft!

We're in a truly extraordinary situation where the President

is fighting with his own Secretary of State,

as he faces multiple foreign policy challenges.

In fact, cabinet officials are apparently now so concerned

about the President's volatility that several of them have forged

an agreement to quit if Trump tries to fire one of them...

Jesus, so three cabinet officials have to ban together

to deal with their out-of-control boss.

They're treating him like he's Dabney Coleman in "9 to 5."

And before you say that was a dated reference,

they were all at the Emmys! [ Laughter ]

So this is the situation we're in.

Cabinet officials are forming suicide pacts

to protect each other from the President.

The President is volatile, unstable, incompetent.

In other words... -A moron.

-No, that's not it. -An effing moron.

BREAKING NEWS TRUMP Today 10/6/17, New Details on Las Vegas investigation ,Democrats vs. Republicans - Duration: 17:33.

The gunman behind the deadliest mass shooting in US history may have plotted to kill others with a car bomb

Chicago police told Fox News that it believes Patek booked two rooms at this hotel overlooking the Lollapalooza Music Festival this summer

another reported location

Boston for members of both parties are looking to take action on pump stocks and on devices that make semiautomatic weapons more deadly

That's what we want to prevent for someone to be able to fire four hundred five hundred eight hundred

rounds per minute the NRA they came out and said those products should be subject to

regulation the other side and so

outright trying to politicize this tragedy that we did feel the need to speak out to this whole pump stock issue a

Heartwarming moment between President Trump and a shooting victim. That is now going viral

President United States comes in this room filled no matter who the president's you stand up

And you should have shown the respect that they deserve

It is 6 o'clock here in New York City

It is 3 o'clock in Las Vegas

And we start with the Fox News Alert

The FBI tracking down and combing through a car belonging to the Las Vegas gunman days after he killed

58 people in cold blood

The SUV could contain critical information about his motive Wow Julie Amelia's been working the story non-stop. She is still in Las Vegas

She's live right now. Hey Gillian

Good morning, guys

You know there are still so many questions that remain at this point of course the biggest one is why did Steven paddock do this?

We don't know the answer to that just yet

We are getting more reports right now including that his hotel room at the Mandalay Bay was possibly comped we're also hearing reports that

He was seen in the days leading up to the shooting with another woman

Who is she we still don't know that at this point?

But here's what we do know no information has come out in the last few days

Including that the fact that he booked a hotel room in Chicago

At Chicago's Blackstone Hotel now this hotel overlooks the Lollapalooza festival a huge music festival in

Chicago tens of thousands of people from all around the world

Travel for this Music Festival now. We also know that he never showed up for that reservation

We have learned and we learned this yesterday that he was researching hotels near Fenway in Boston at this point

We don't believe he actually booked hotel rooms there with that information again still coming out at this hour

We also know that he booked another hotel rooms at another hotel here in Las Vegas

When the life is beautiful music festival was going on so look there's a lot of questions revolving around those scenarios like

Was this his main target here in Las Vegas was he targeting other music festivals

And he wasn't able to get the the shooting done that he wanted to do so listen this information is still coming out a lot

of questions there

New information that we have about his vehicles police were able to find his Hyundai Tucson

That's the vehicle they were looking for in the hours after the shooting happened

We are told that they found that vehicle at a home he owns in Reno now

We're also told that police have new information regarding the car that was found at the Mandalay Bay inside that vehicle were told

1,600 rounds of ammunition we're told ammonium nitrate 50 pounds of tannerite as well

So was he planning to use that car as an explosive again

More questions that we still don't know the answers to but I want to let you hear from one expert about what he thinks

We've got explosives in the car he's got a

ammunition in the car so what are you trying to make it be a

improvised vehicle

explosive device if he is where to escape did he get in there and wanted to drive it and penetrate into either a building or

another crowd set that off and and was it it was this a suicide pact and

At the end of the game and in a blaze of glory

Suicide by cop is that what he wanted to do. There's so many inconsistencies that continue to emerge now

This as there was a memorial service that was held last night an emotional night for Charleston Hart field the off-duty

Las Vegas police officer who was killed in the shooting he leaves behind a son and a daughter

really emotional for those who worked with him those who knew him, but guys the

Thing right here this morning is I think a lot of people are starting to get a little bit frustrated the fact that this is

Taking so long to find out why but as you see as the days unfold there are still so many more questions

That pop up so police have a lot of evidence a lot of things that they still have to get done in this investigation

Julian I think it's worth noteworthy to see they did not have any that review those revealing press conferences yesterday

I think they're gonna start really slowing down on this because I don't think they like the way it went the day before what do

You think I?

Agree with you. I was surprised that we didn't have that much information that came out yesterday

I was waiting all day yesterday to see if there was going to be a press conference

And when we didn't get any new information. I thought okay, what's what's going on here

Why is this taking so long and that's what many people are wondering?

But you have to give them the time to get done the investigation

So that they get this right?

And we get the right information out to the public because that's what it's the most important right now absolutely Jillian

Thank you very much. We want to know why?

Apparently the police did reveal that they have seized six media devices you know phones

iPads whatever

and that is how they have figured out that he did the web browsing and looked at Chicago and looked at Boston and elsewhere as

Well, and I'm sure they know more by the way than they're telling absolute public the thing that is so weird though

Is there is absolutely nothing from what we know on?

Social media his inner circle family members are just as shocked as everyone else is about this and back to what Jillian was saying

It's the families that just want these answers

But I think we've got to take a step

Let the officials do their job and help us all better understand what he did freak out some of his neighbors

Who are starting to talk and say yeah? He never said a word to us. He always had a

Nasty look on his face

He worked out and that was it so he started to get the profile of somebody who was looking to hide something well

It's interesting because we don't know anything about him really except the basic biographical stuff

Except in the last four days before he started doing the shooting and then he knew there was Kent there were cameras throughout the casino

He you know he knew that they would track down things that he gambled all day all weekend certainly

Yeah

But back in Washington had spent a lot of talk about gun control and yesterday

Something happened where they've been talking about bumped stocks something that the shooter used

I think he had a dozen of them on his guns. It's a an attachment device that turns a

Semi-automatic weapon into an automatic weapon lets you shoot

Faster and a lot more at a time you have Democrats and Republicans and now the administration saying they're willing to at least look

Into this debate to see if we even need this the NRA got involved as well

Sure, here is the president being asked about that. What does he say listen up?

Now keep in mind these bumps talks, which were devised and started to be sold

I think in 2010 they were okayed by the Obama administration the idea was to make it easier for

Disabled people to be able to shoot. Well of course the number one supporter of hunting and gun rights the NRA

They have actually come out and what they're now saying is essentially tighter regulation

But not a ban and some people said oh, they're calling for a ban the NRI

Can you believe it Wayne LaPierre was on with Hannity last night and clarified the NRA on these particular devices?

The other side on the other hand has been

So outright trying to politicize this tragedy that we did feel the need to speak out today on this whole bump stock issue

What the NRA has said is we ought to take a look at that see if it's in compliance with federal law?

It's worthy of additional regulation

That being said we didn't say ban

We didn't say confiscate

San Bernardino where California has every gun law you can imagine on the books that wouldn't have happened in

Paris where they have complete gun bans that wouldn't have happened Brussels all over the world where the people are

Disarmed these monsters these bad guys go about their business. They could care less

What laws are on the books in the heart of the American public all over this country they see these monsters

And they don't want to be alone out there they want to be able to protect themselves

Yeah, I mean you know if you have Auto money, and you're concerned about your safety

You've got big armed guards around you

And uh you know retired Navy SEALs guarding you but for everybody else they want to have that option

but in terms of these devices

It's remarkable that you do have republicans and democrats saying let's examine this guys like paul ryan who hunt for allah

You know the hunt for a hobby say yeah, I didn't know anything about it. That's very honest very candid nobody know

I was reading up about it yesterday because this was the first I'd heard about it. Yeah keep in mind

Not a gun guy it is against the law to have an automatic weapon a fully automatic weapon

Essentially what this does turns it into that it does and so there should be

According to the NRA and so many other people there should be tighter regulation

We're going to talk to NR a spokeswoman

Dana Lesh

about just this in the 8 o'clock hour right here on Fox & Friends when you were walking around the halls up until about a

Year ago, you would see Bret Stevens law he came on the radio show all this building in this building

He works worked for The Wall Street Journal now

He's working for the New York Times as their conservative columnist, and I was stunned to see what he wrote about

yesterday regarding the Second Amendment

Keep in mind conservative columnist right here's what he said

He said repealing the amendment may seem like political mission impossible today, but in the era of same-sex marriage

It's worth recalling that most great causes begin as improbable ones gun ownership should never be outlawed

Just as it is an outlawed in Britain or Australia, but it doesn't need a blanket constitutional protection either

Yeah, so he's calling for a repeal of the Second Amendment

What do you think about that let us know friends at foxnews.com?

You could tweet us or also Facebook

meanwhile the president United States was dining with military and their spouses last night in the State Dining Room and

The the people in the press room were just sitting around

because they didn't know that they would be called in and because the president said hey come on in and take a picture we just

Had dinner and they didn't know it was gonna happen and then the president

And this is a little cagey on his point on his part. What was he talking about when he said this?

This is so classic Trump first of all strumpet right the middle of the media sitting in that room, and he's always just

Want you here and he's he's in his comfort zone around these military officials in these generals

And who knows they talked about everything from North Korea to Iran to Isis you name it

But but leaving them with that saying it is the calm before the storm now

They're wondering

What is he referring to could that be North Korea could it be this Iran deal that I think that's up

October 15th could it be something they're dealing with with Isis we don't know or North Korea. I mean that hasn't gone away

Just because hasn't been in the headlines because of gay that's because of the national disasters in the and the vicious shooting in Las Vegas

I also think it's important to bring up that you know he's constantly every day

He gets briefed about different challenges for America

And he is definitely being or definitely on the front foot now around the world

Or and sadly a lot of times the results in the casualties

And we'll talk about this in about 15 minutes that we had four we had three Green Berets killed the other day

So we're constantly in battle constantly going after

Terrorists but for him to throw that out. I'm watching every channel this morning as I walked in there. They're all speculating on what?

Here's what I would say you look at that group of generals that he's surrounded by whenever

He is people criticize his foreign policy or how he thinks the president

You've got to look at the people that he has put in these positions

General John Kelly chief of staff to James Madison to Rex Tillerson

I mean these are the best in the business people that have been HR McMaster who have been on the front lines who?

Understands the real friendly face, but here's the thing before dinner

He called the press in and he said, okay, we're gonna talk about North Korea and Iran

Then the press went back into the press room that he calls mouth

Hey take a picture and then it's like it's the calm before the storm. What are you talking about?

You'll find out also he said that there's been tremendous pressure progress made with Isis

I guess the media is going to be finding out about that over the next short period of time so Isis, North Korea and Iran

Pull them out of a major city in Iraq meanwhile 12 minutes after the hour. Yeah coming up

I talked to my dad a new ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman

Let's start with the question you get all the time

Why do you want to do this?

Is his answer plus the topic that got both my dad and me pretty emotional that is?

Awesome and Democrats and their allies in the media claim

They have the solutions to stop mass shootings like the one we just saw in Vegas

But do they we break down their ideas and see if they would actually have worked here

The Las Vegas Massacre is renewing the gun control debate in this country yesterday

We held a live Town Hall here in our studio, and no one had any solutions to stop this kind of violence

Can I see the hands does anybody know of one gun law they could write that would have prevented what happened on Sunday night?

Okay, we're gonna enter right there then and we did so does anyone have any solutions here to discuss is the author of the forthcoming

Book first freedom a ride through America's enduring history with the gun from the revolution to today David

Horse Annie he's also a senior editor at the Federalist David good morning to you. Good morning

Okay, it is puzzling

We had all these experts in yesterday nobody had a good idea however the New York Times was helping people out

They had a headline yesterday

preventing mass shooting like the Vegas Strip attack and Nicholas Kristof

Wrote this when Australia suffered a mass shooting in 1996 the country united behind tougher laws on firearms

The result is that the gun homicide rate was almost halved America's gun homicide rate is now 20 times

Australia's how many times over the last couple of days have you heard about Australia?

And what do you have to say about what they're doing down there?

Well first of all you know you hear it all the time

But it's it's not a feasible solution because it's essentially confiscation, and we have a Second Amendment here

And there's no way around that for people who'd like to get around it

But secondly what they never mentioned is that during the same time from the mid 90s until

Maybe a year or two ago. There was a huge drop in crime here as well except. We had a spike in gun ownership, so

Obviously, there's no correlation or at least it doesn't seem to be any correlation between ownership

And between guns as far as the as far as the murder rate. We do have a higher murder rate

We had one before and I think there are a lot of other societal reasons for that well

I tell you what David in the Kristof article there were a number of

suggestions one of them was

Universal background checks, what do you think about those well a lot of people?

I noticed don't think we have any background checks who don't know about guns most the vast majority of people who buy guns have

Have go through a background check

so

But moreover of all these mass shootings almost every person has passed a background check probably in this case as well

And when they don't they simply just break the law

Like Adam Lanza who just stole stole stole the gun so I'm not sure that that's good

I mean you might think that's a good idea

But it's not going to stop Matt or prevent mass shootings right what about limiting the number of guns a person could

Buy in a year or over their lifetime or whatever

Most of these attacks are pretty meticulously planned so people can I mean?

I don't know what arbitrary number

Folks think is going to help with that and it's like

It's sort of like limiting the size of your soda as if you can't go and wait and just get another one

You know people happen more over there. There are tons of guns out there already

I'm not sure that does anything it real quickly David. What about bump stocks?

Well obviously I think people are circumventing the law quite often with bump stocks

I'm not sure that banning them is going to really make as much of a difference as people think because there are ways around

That that aren't bump stocks you know

For gun owners. It's already interesting stuff David Hertz, and we thank you very much for joining us today from our nation's capital

Thanks for having me

Thank you, sir

All right coming up on this Friday Abbie sits down with the new

I need a glass of water with the new ambassador to Russia her dad Jon Huntsman in an exclusive interview

Coming up all right

Let's start with the question you get all the time

Why do you want to do this?

All right back with your headlines right now foreign hackers may have stolen information from White House chief of staff John Kelly's personal

cell phone this according to Politico

And they have not walked it back for the White House

Kelly told tech support staff that it had not his phone had not been working properly for months the White House says Kelly

No longer uses that phone. They might have found something on it and Russian based hackers may have stolen highly sensitive government documents as
