Trump news on Youtube Oct 30 2017

Hello this is Ron Paul with your weekly update from on the Monday October23rd

This week President Trump revealed his final five candidates for Federal Reserve chair.

Disappointingly, but not surprisingly,

all five have strong ties to the financial and political establishment.

The leading candidates are former Federal Reserve governor and Morgan Stanley banker Kevin Warsh

and current Fed governor, former investment banker, Carlyle Group partner,

and George H.W. Bush administration official Jerome Powell.

Gary Cohn, current director of the president's National Economic Council and former

president of Goldman Sachs, is also on Trump's list.

Trump is also considering reappointing Janet Yellen, even though

when he was running for president he repeatedly criticized her for pursuing policies harmful to the middle class.

Of course candidate Trump also promised to support Audit the Fed and

even voiced support for returning to the gold standard.

But, he has not even uttered the words "Audit the Fed,"

or talked about any changes to monetary policy, since the election.

Instead, President Trump, in complete contradiction to candidate Trump,

has praised Yellen for being a "low-interest-rate-person."

One reason Trump may have changed his position is that,

like most first-term presidents, he thinks low interest rates will help him win reelection.

Trump may also realize that his welfare and warfare spending plans require

an accommodative Fed to monetize the federal debt.

The truth is President Trump's embrace of status quo monetary policy

could prove fatal to both his presidency and the American economy.

The failure of the Fed's post-2008 policies of unprecedented money creation

and record-low interest rates shows our experiment with fiat money is nearing its inevitable end.

All of Trump's potential picks are likely to continue the Fed's current policies.

Even the ones who say they favor higher rates will likely bow

to the wishes of their friends in the financial and political establishment

and make sure any rate hikes are minuscule.

Appointing a Fed chair who will continue, or only make marginal changes to,

these failed policies will hasten the collapse while making the resulting depression more painful.

Some say that Trump could make a radical change in monetary policy by appointing Stanford University professor

and former George W. Bush administration Treasury official John Taylor.

Professor Taylor is a leading advocate of a "rules-based" monetary policy.

Advocates of forcing the Fed to follow specific rules say this will bring stability and predictability to monetary policy.

However, a rules-based policy still allows the Fed to control the money supply

and distort interest rates, thus still plaguing the economy with Fed-created bubbles and busts.

In Washington rules are made to be broken.

Trump would do well to appoint a Fed chair who follows the teachings

of the Austrian school of economics

and thus understands that the only thing the Fed can do to "fix" the economy

is allow the correction to run its course.

He should also use his bully pulpit to pass Audit the Fed and legislation legalizing competing currencies.

Fortunately, even if Trump is not speaking out on Audit the Fed, many Americans are demanding

that Congress vote on and pass this bill.

An increasing number of Americans are seeking alternatives to the Federal Reserve System, such as precious metals and cyber currency.

systems such as precious metals and cybercurrency.

Another positive development is occurring in the states.

Arizona recently passed legislation recognizing gold, silver, and other precious metals as legal tender.

Wyoming will consider similar legislation next year.

If Congress refuses to act to restore a free market in money by auditing and ending the Fed,

more states are likely to pass these laws as more Americans reject fiat currency in favor of real money.

Japanese PM Abe to support Trump's military options on North Korea's nuclear threats: Kyodo - Duration: 0:51.

Our starting point this morning,... on U.S. President Donald Trump's scheduled visit to

the Asia that begins this week-- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe -- soon

to greet President Trump in Tokyo when he visits the country-- says the highly-anticipated

visit will allow the two leaders to cement their positions on their strong deterrence

against North Korea.

Japan's Kyodo News Agency says Abe is looking to give his full backing to President Trump's

will to use force if necessary,... following indications Washington has devised military

options to deal with North Korea,... without putting the Korean Peninsula at risk.

Abe is also reportedly looking to press the importance of expanding the U.S. nuclear umbrella

over Asian countries-- an attempt seen as cementing the strong alliance between the

two sides.

BUSTED: Former Trump Campaign Chair Indicted In Mueller Probe - Duration: 3:57.

Late Friday evening, it was announced that indictments had been sealed and delivered

in the Bob Mueller special prosecutor probe and a potential collusion between the Trump

campaign and Russia.

So, the nation waited anxiously over Saturday and Sunday, and then today we finally found

out who the lucky individual was to win the first indictment from Bob Mueller.

That person just happened to be Paul Manafort, Donald Trump's former campaign manager.

Along with Manafort, Rick Gates, who served basically as Manafort's right-hand man during

the campaign, was also served an indictment, and the two men turned themselves in to the

FBI.

At this point, here is what happens.

The special prosecutor, the people investigating this, obviously they do have enough evidence

to bring the charges against Manafort and Gates.

That does not indicate that these men are, in fact, guilty.

It just means there's enough evidence to go ahead and charge with a crime.

Some of those crimes include money laundering, tax evasion, and conspiracy against the United

States.

That's the big one because that's tantamount to treason at this point.

But what they're hoping to do by going after Manafort and going after Gates is to get them

to talk, to reveal further information that is going to lead to even more indictments

down the road.

Manafort has done some really shady things in the past.

He has been involved in the Ukraine.

He has very strong ties to the Russian government dealing with them, accepting money from them

and the Ukraine and other Putin allies.

So, that's obviously one of the paths with which this investigation moved forward.

More things are going to develop over time.

We're going to find out a little bit more here and there.

Once the full indictments are released, we're going to be able to read through those and

find out exactly what is going on, what the evidence is, and what the likelihood of a

conviction will be at this point.

But, again, these indictments are mostly to get these two men to squeal in order to get

more information about more co-conspirators because you got to have more than two people

to have a conspiracy against the United States, even though both men have been charged with

this.

It is worth noting that Donald Trump himself could be listed as an un-indicted co-conspirator,

though that remains to be seen.

Again, we're hoping these two men start singing.

We're hoping they turn over everything they've got, reveal everything they know, and then

indictments keep coming.

Because, personally, I would love to see Jared Kushner go down in all of this.

I think he is the kind of guy who not only knows everything that went on, but also the

kind of human being that if you apply even the slightest pressure to him, he's going

to start squealing and revealing every single thing that he knows.

Hopefully, Manafort and Gates are going to give Mueller enough evidence to go ahead and

go ahead and charge Kushner with a crime as well.

Again, this story's still developing.

Hopefully, we're going to know some more things as the day drags on, as the week goes on,

but at least right now this big alleged nothing burger from the Trump administration has turned

into two men being forced to turn themselves in to the FBI.

Republican Senator Says Calling Out Trump's Lies Is Not His Job - Duration: 3:08.

A very interesting thing happened earlier this week when CNN's Wolf Blitzer interviewed

Republican Senator Jim Risch from Idaho, where he asked Risch if, like his fellow senators,

Flake and Corker, he would start calling out the President's lies, and, more importantly,

do you feel that it is your job to call out the President's lies as a sitting senator

and a member of the Republican party?

Risch replied, "No.

It's not my job."

We have a Republican senator who is essentially admitting that, yeah, Donald Trump lies, but

that it's not his place to go out there and tell the public.

In fact, Risch then told Wolf Blitzer, that's your job.

It's your job, Wolf Blitzer, and CNN, and the corporate media to call out the lies of

the President.

Well, guess what, Mr. Risch?

They are.

Every time they do, you and your party and everyone else in the Trump administration

calls them fake news.

So, don't sit there and act like you've got some kind of high ground and that the media

needs to be calling out Trump's lies, because they are.

Every time they do it, Donald Trump gets pissy, says they're fake news, and gets his Twitter

followers to all say, yes, screw CNN.

Let's tweet out a gift of you beating the crap out of them.

That's not how it works, Mr. Risch.

It is your job as a senator, as a representative of American citizens, to call out the President

on his lies.

Now, Risch went further and explained that if he decided to go out there and refute all

the lies from the President, and all the lies from his colleagues, and all the lies from

senators back in his ... Or elected officials back in his home state of Idaho, it would

be a full-time job.

He'd have to do it all day long.

Okay, so do it all day long.

You're not doing anything else constructive anyway.

You're trying to pass legislation to cut Medicare and Medicaid.

Why not use that time instead to explain all of the lies being told by members of your

own party, who you just admitted we're lying to the public at an astonishing rate?

It is your job.

People elected you to protect them.

I think protecting them from the lies of Donald Trump and the lies of the Republican party

should be at the very top of your list.

Forget about screwing over consumers with your tax cuts and your Medicaid cuts, how

about you let them know every time the President lies to them or members of the Republican

party are lying to them?

That seems like a much more fulfilling full-time job that I think you could, with a little

practice, be very good at.

There Is Nothing "Normal" About Trump's Presidency - Duration: 3:55.

I remember back in 2016 I was watching the presidential debates between Donald Trump

and Hillary Clinton, and my daughter, who at the time was five years old, had just started

kindergarten a few weeks ago, walks into the room, looks at the TV, watches Donald Trump

talk for about 30 seconds, then she looks at me, the 5-year-old sweetest little girl

you'd ever meet, and she says, "What's wrong with him?"

It was at that moment that I realized what was really happening in this country.

Donald Trump, as we all now know, was dumbing down the office of the presidency even before

he made it to the presidency itself, before he was sworn in, by being on the campaign

trail, by winning the Republican nomination, and then winning the electoral college vote

he dumbed down this country to a level that I don't know that we can recover from.

Between his constant investigations into the activities of both himself, and members of

his campaign, that are still ongoing, Michael Flynn, Manafort, Kushner, John Jr, Trump himself,

Reince Priebus.

Between the name-calling on Twitter where he insults people for their looks, like sleepy

eyes Chuck Todd, as he called him, Corker Flake McCain.

The reporter that he mocked at the campaign rally who had a disability.

The plugging of products, and books, and TV shows, and making fun of TV shows that get

poor ratings on Twitter, the constant vacations, and the golfing, and the bankrupting of the

Secret Service, because he makes them go with him on vacations so much that the organization

has no more money.

The psychotic episodes, and the breakdowns that his staff has reported, him throwing

things at televisions because he's so angry.

Antagonizing foreign powers online.

Insulting Kim Jong-un on Twitter as if that helps the dialogue, or the situation in any

way.

What is wrong with him?

My five-year old daughter a year ago nailed it.

What's wrong with him?

I wish I had an answer to that.

I wish I would have been able to give her a proper answer, and give her an answer today,

because that's what we owe our children.

When they look at what Donald Trump is saying, and doing, and how he's acting, and they start

repeating that, and acting that way in schools, which we've already seen an increase in bullying,

in spite of Melania's anti-bullying campaign that for reason glosses over the activities

of her husband.

We deserve better but, more importantly, we have to make sure that we never forget that

this is not normal.

We cannot ever become complacent.

We cannot ever start accepting this, because the second we do that's the new bar for the

next president.

However, low Donald Trump takes it, we have to be right there to raise that bar higher

for the next election, because if not, what's next after Trump, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann,

Louie Gohmert?

That's the level of stupidity that he has taken the office of the president, and every

day we need to remind our fellow citizens, and more importantly, remind our own children

that this is not normal, and this is not okay, and we are going to fix it for you, so that

you have a better future than what we are currently living in.

Trump Rage Tweeted All Weekend To Distract From Indictments - Duration: 5:06.

Donald Trump going on insane Twitter rants is nothing that we're not used to as a country

at this point, but on Friday, when it was announced that sealed indictments had been

delivered in the Bob Mueller special prosecutor probe, Donald Trump went off the deep end

and decided to start tweeting out absolutely nonsense to his millions of followers here

in the United States, and he did it all as a distraction method to try to make the public

forget about the fact that some of his buddies would be going to prison on Monday, or at

least not going to prison, but being arrested on Monday.

Donald Trump stats tweeting out stuff about how Obamacare's failing and the Democrats

owned this, even though he has literally admitted to sabotaging the program, and that's why

things are starting to get bad with it.

Prior to that, things were actually going quite well with it.

He's talking about Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton, and some kind of crazy uranium deal,

as if that's anything that anyone cares about or anything that could potentially be skewed

as illegal, and he's still out there talking about the Fusion GPS Dossier funding, again,

saying that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama I guess should be in jail for funding opposition

research, which is literally something that every single campaign does.

As long as they hired a domestic company, excuse me, which they did, there's nothing

illegal or even unethical about any of that.

But Donald Trump, in the last week or so, obviously sensing that something was happening

within this investigation, has started to sound a lot more desperate and, to be quite

honest, a lot more guilty.

He is constantly talking about Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Hillary Clinton.

That is his distraction.

Fox News is doing the same thing.

In the last week, all they've done is talk about Hillary Clinton, with the exception

of Fox and Friends Monday morning after the indictments came out.

They were literally talking about Halloween candy for a good 30 minutes, instead of actually

talking about the real news.

Nonetheless, Hillary Clinton has become a massive distraction effort by the Republican

Party, because that is the only enemy that they still have to run against.

At this point, any Democrat who's out there still praising Hillary Clinton, still bringing

her up and making her news, is helping the Trump administration.

They're helping by showing that, look, Democrats still care about Hillary, so we need to keep

attacking her.

See them?

They're going to run her again in 2020.

Democrats are causing as much damage to their own brand right now as Republicans are trying

to inflict, and they don't even understand that they're feeding into it.

Trump is going to use whatever he can to try and distract the American public from the

fact that members of his campaign went to jail today.

Hillary Clinton was not involved in that.

Hillary Clinton needs to go away and disappear, and she's not even the one bringing herself

up at this point.

It's Donald Trump and the establishment Democrats.

The rest of us are trying to focus on what the hell is happening in this country day

to day, and now you've put me in the unfortunate position of having to come out and actually

defend Hillary Clinton, which is actually starting to just piss me off even more.

Hillary Clinton doesn't matter.

Hillary Clinton hasn't done anything illegal.

She's not running for president again in 2020.

It's done.

It's buried.

It's over.

Move on.

Members of the Trump administration committed crimes, and one of those alleged crimes is

conspiracy against the Unite States.

That's what we should be talking about.

Don't fall for Donald Trump's distractions.

Don't fall for the establishment Democrat's insistence that Hillary Clinton is a queen.

We have to focus on what's actually real.

In order to do that, we have to shut out the establishment, and we have to shut out Trump,

wade through the river of bullshit to find out what's actually real.

Those of us willing to do that understand what's happening in this country, because

we're not distracted by all the nonsense coming from both the establishment left and the Trump

administration, and too few people fall into that category.

The rest, the Republicans are distracted with Hillary, the left is distracted by Hillary,

and Trump is using that to his advantage to try to say that somehow some kind of indictment's

coming against them.

It's not going to happen.

It's not ever going to happen.

Anyone who is out there pushing that conspiracy theory is helping Donald Trump in ways that

they can't even imagine.

Putin defends Trump: He is being prevented from carrying out any of his election platforms and plans - Duration: 4:07.

I am sorry, but I consider the question inappropriate. Mr Trump was elected by the American people.

And for this reason alone he should be treated with respect even if you disagree with a position of his.

He is being disrespected in the country. This is a deplorable, negative aspect of the American political system.

You can argue but you cannot show disrespect. Not just for him personally but for the people who have voted for him. This is the first thing.

Secondly, as I already said, I believe the President of the United States needs no advice because to be elected, even without extensive government experience, you have to have talent and go through this crucible.

He did just that. And he won. He won fairly.

As you know, our people say, "You have to make the sign of the cross if you're seeing things".

It only seems that way. We do not know how things could have turned out in reality either, do we?

With regard to the incumbent president, as I said a year ago – and I can repeat this now – we will do our job.

And I am saying now: we are working with the president that the American people have elected.

As for unpredictability, he is not the only one to blame. It also has to do with the intense opposition in the country.

After all, he is being prevented from carrying out any of his election platforms and plans. In health care, in other spheres.

The moment he makes a decision on migrants, a court immediately blocks it. This is happening all the time.

So to say that he is the only source of this unpredictability – no, this depends on the entire US political system.

Nevertheless, we will work with the partners that we have.

The United States is a great power, the world's largest economic and military power.

Granted, unfortunately, our bilateral trade is negligible, almost nothing: $20 billion.

All the same, the impact of the US is global, very significant. It is one of our most important partners, no doubt.

We will continue working despite all difficulties. That is, of course, if they also want this. If they do not, we will not.

It Was A Set Up! Look Who Set Up The Fusion GPS Meeting With Donald Trump Jr.(VIDEO)!!! - Duration: 11:41.

It Was A Set Up! Look Who Set Up The Fusion GPS Meeting With Donald Trump Jr.

there are new details tonight linking the firm fusion GPS to the rush of

lobbyists who met with Donald Trump jr. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman

Chuck Grassley wrote to the Justice Department back in March and he stated

this quote it is particularly disturbing that mr. arc Metzen and fusion GPS were

working together on this pro-russia lobbying effort in 2016 in light of mr.

Achmed shion's history and reputation mr. Ark mention

is a Russian immigrant to the United States who's admitted having been a

Soviet counterintelligence officer in quote and as we reported here last night

the Russian attorney vessel and Nitz kaya was also linked to fusion gps

related to a money-laundering case involving a Russian holding company are

you confused yet if not I'll guarantee it will occur soon

here tonight fusion GPS is Christopher steel created the false dossier on then

candidate Donald Trump an effort reportedly funded by the Democratic

supporters of Hillary Clinton I kid you not joining me now Chris Farrell the

director of investigations and research at Judicial Watch Chris I got to say

with all apologies to my colleagues and broadcasting and media across the

country you're damn fools for chasing this nonsense like a bunch of bang

hounds I mean this is ridiculous if anything needs to be investigated it's

the DNC link to fusion GPS and the phony dossier because clearly that it doesn't

benefit Trump right that was an attempt to knock Trump out so whose money was

behind that if you want to go back and peel back the layers on this Russia

hysteria you look at the DNC look at Hillary's campaign that's where it seems

to point in my opinion well in my opinion as well and I've been saying

here that the number one question in the so-called Russia collusion investigation

a which is a manifest joke by the way from top to bottom in my opinion agree

but if there is a question to be answered it is how in the hell did the

DNC get away with telling the CIA the FBI to get away from their servers just

because they had some sort of national security interest in it all and why in

the world did the FBI and the CIA say oh very well Democratic National Committee

people will just step back and get out of your way and let the Russians have

their way with you I mean this is absurd well and the fact that the FBI would

stand by and supposedly take that as just nuts but let's not forget that

vessel that's Disgaea and OCH mention boris and Natasha the two of them what

we're running around the United States under the Obama administration under the

imprimatur of the Attorney General who handed out as best we can tell perhaps

the one and only immigration parole in history to a Russian citizen correct and

you know jay johnson's hands are dirty in this and i want to know why jake

johnson the former head of homeland security secretary who handles all the

immigration issues i want to know right now why homeland security investigations

is not out conducting investigations of all those persons in the Obama

administration who approve that who authorized this female attorney

well Andrew the United States let's get me it gets it gets as these things seem

to better and better once the republican-led Senate and republican-led

house start behaving as if the Democrats control them but how in the world is it

that the the statute that permits a immigration parole refers to the

secretary as having that power not the Attorney General and how did the

Attorney General then a bribe that authority to herself and

reportedly approved the parole the immigration parole that permitted the

Russian attorney into the country and the questions then compound themselves

how did she remain in the country till June of last year when that immigration

parole ended back in January there's no explanation for this the well what

happened was you had multiple Obama gang I thought you know officers or officials

signing off on allowing this woman to operate in the United States it's

mind-boggling why they would ever do so and as I said that the FBI or Homeland

Security Investigations should be getting statements right now from those

persons who authorized her to stay in the country they made super exceptional

you know above and beyond efforts to allow her to stay here why who

authorized it why who authorised it next question is why in the world is the

Attorney General not shutting down the Special Counsel why in the world is is

this attorney general this Justice Department not going after right now the

the answers to all of the questions that we've just raised here and the hundreds

of others that likely will flow from them as well as investigating now the

Clinton Foundation now investigating the conduct of a Secretary of State the name

of Hillary Clinton and the conduct of the Democratic National Committee and

the leaders of the FBI and the CIA who withdrew from a national security breach

in the form of intervention by the Russians in the Democratic National

Committee servers why what glue this whole thing if I told you it was an

email from Sidney Blumenthal to Huma Abedin you wouldn't believe it but

that's what it reads like it is so twisted and contorted and frankly

there's so much Democratic operative involved that in this all of the efforts

all the investigative efforts are pointed in the wrong to

correction and all the public relations sort of government information side of

this should be talking about how the Trump administration is aggressively

pursuing this and trying to get to the bottom of it not passively sitting by

and waiting for Muller to dream something up robert muller and dreaming

something up without portfolio because he's in charge of finding out whether

there was collusion which is as you pointed out on this broadcast numerous

times not even a law to be broken left alone evidence of a law being broken

correct but secondly to go to the issue of watching richard burr be led around

by his nose by the democratic ranking committee member senator mark warner and

to watch this parade of irrelevance he's coming before the senate intelligence

committee the same thing happening but to a lesser degree to the House

Committee and now Senator Chuck Grassley thus the chairman of the Judiciary

Committee in the Senate I mean it's as if the the republican-led Senate has

been turned on its head and the Republican Party doesn't have enough

brains to well if dynamite were brains they couldn't blow their nose precisely

the what the other think you would hear a sixth-grade reference like that well

only because it's so absurd and it's it's it's a case where you know the bad

guys come in and do something and then the you know the cops in the form of

this incredible Senate leadership starts questioning all the victims as though

they were the bad guys point out the Trump outside legal team says that this

lawyer in question may have actually had ties to a group called fusion GPS

Trump Supporter Kills His Father After He Accuses Him Of Being A Bigot - Duration: 4:04.

Donald Trump loves to go out there on Twitter and complain about the fake news in the United

States, and how horrible it is, and how damaging it can be for our democracy.

Well, to an extent, he is absolutely right about that.

Fake news is a huge problem in the United States, but it's not the news outlets that

Donald Trump's talking about.

It's not Washington Post, or New York Times, or CNN, or NBC.

The real fake news problem exists on Fox News and within the conservative blogosphere, and

it now has a death toll.

Lane Davis, a 33-year-old, right-wing conspiracy theorist earlier this year murdered his father

after his father accused him of being a Nazi and a racist because of his unhinged rants

that he would go on after reading conservative websites, conservative Reddit, and listening

to conservative media.

Lane Davis, again, 33 years old, lived with his parents still, went on an unhinged rant

one day with his 73-year-old parents in the house where he started talking about the government

being run by pedophiles.

Now, this was a guy who loved to push the conspiracy of pizzagate.

He loved to talk about how the DNC murdered Seth Rich.

He pushed all of these online through a couple of websites that he worked at, unpaid, according

to the websites.

But anyway, he fed on fake news day in and day out.

Pro-Trump supporter, loved Donald Trump, listened to all the usual suspects in conservative

media, and Fox News, and all the usual conservative websites.

He ate this stuff up and let it poison his brain.

Now, I'll admit, obviously, the kid couldn't have been all there to begin with, but still,

this fake news fueled him into such a rage that he began ranting about pedophiles running

the government, accused his parents of being pedophiles, and then stabbed his father in

the chest and the back, and stood there with his hands up in the air waiting for the police

to come.

That is what fake news can do.

We already saw it almost play itself out with pizzagate where a gunman went in and shot

up a pizzeria.

Thank god nobody was killed in that particular instance, but something has to change.

The Republican Party base, the alt-right base is these wacko nut jobs like this, and they

feed off fake news.

They have no filter because there's already something missing up here, and now they're

turning it into anger, and violence, and death.

This kid, Lane Davis, is currently being held on a million dollar bond awaiting his trail

in January even though he's already plead not guilty to first-degree murder.

If he is convicted, I hope we have Republicans in this country speak out.

I hope that somebody goes and sues these conservative media outlets that are feeding people these

fake stories, because there is a real-world toll from this kind of misinformation, and

disinformation, and propaganda.

You cannot just spread lies out there, let it result in the deaths of human beings and

not be held liable.

It is time to hit these assholes where it hurts, and that is in the wallet.

Shut down these websites, take away their funding, and give it to the families of the

victims in these instances.

That is the only thing that could happen that would finally help to stop, put an end to

some of this fake news problem that now is getting people killed.

Bill Nye Says Science Will Survive The Trump Administration… Probably - Duration: 4:27.

There's really no question that the Trump administration has proven itself to be one

of the most anti-science presidential administrations, at least in a generation.

Now yes, I know that George W. Bush and his crew were very anti-science, but at least

they actually acknowledged that climate change was real.

Well, they didn't evolution taught, they didn't want women to have reproductive health freedom,

but they did acknowledge climate change, which puts them a tiny step above where the Trump

administration is at because they don't believe in climate change.

They don't believe in women having a say over their reproductive health, which yes, falls

under the category of science, and they don't believe in evolution.

They don't believe it should be taught.

If they believe in it, that's not something we necessarily know, but they do not believe

it should be taught, and the same goes for most Republicans in Washington, D.C.

Nonetheless, Bill Nye the Science Guy did an interview with Time Magazine recently where

he said that he believes, he has hope that science will survive the Trump administration

and that he sees more hope in the younger generations who do accept science, who do

understand that evolution happened, and that climate change is happening.

Bill Nye says we need to have hope, and it's a good message.

But unfortunately, it's not necessarily a message that I'm willing to get behind at

this point.

I want to have hope, I wish I did.

But when you understand, when you see the damage that gets caused in just four short

years from denying the existence of science, what happens when we have a kid in second

grade who has to go four, or potentially eight years through their education of learning

that evolution didn't happen, and instead, we were all created by a big guy up in the

sky.

Eight years, those thoughts, those beliefs get indoctrinated into children, and it shapes

their entire life.

Same thing goes with climate change.

When we have an administration that not only denies its existence and teaches that to other

people who then go on to believe it, but the damage that gets caused as a result of the

inaction.

That can't be undone.

Rising sea levels?

Yeah, we can't just drain the sea and make those sea levels go back down.

The areas of California that are being burnt, they'll grow back in a few decades.

We can't fix that with the next administration.

Science will survive, I do understand that.

I understand where Bill Nye's coming from, and I understand what he's saying, and I appreciate

it, and he's just more hopeful than I am, and I wish I could share his enthusiasm and

his hope in what he sees in a younger generation, but right now, what I see is a generation

of Republican lawmakers trying to teach our children that science isn't real, that you

need to believe in Republican lawmakers and a deity that you cannot see, and you may or

may not even believe in.

Put your faith in those, not your faith in textbooks.

Don't worry about those Liberal elites at those colleges that teach you this nonsense.

Trust us, but more importantly, trust the talking points that we're giving you from

the religious right and the fossil fuel industry, because that's all that matters, and that

is what they are trying to teach our children.

Science will live on, and eventually we'll live in a society, I hope, that accepts science,

that stops having such an antagonistic attitude towards science and scientists.

But I don't see it happening any time in the next four years, I don't see it happening

in the next 10 years.

I don't even think it'll happen in the next 50 years.

It'll happen when science comes and slaps us back in the face because we've been ignoring

it for so long that we suddenly have very real, dire issues to start dealing with.

I wish I could be as optimistic as Bill Nye, but from what I've seen from Republicans,

it's very hard to be optimistic these days.
