US increases 'NUCLEAR arsenal' as Trump strengthens military amid North Korea threats - Duration: 4:33.US increases 'NUCLEAR arsenal' as Trump strengthens military amid North Korea threats
Washington is planning to stockpile its nuclear arsenal and Mike Pence suggested the US is ditching the disarmament ambitions of the Obama administration.
The vice-president said: "You can be assured that our administration is committed to strengthen and modernise America's nuclear deterrent. "History attests the surest path to peace is through American strength.
"There's no greater element of American strength, there's no greater force for peace in the world than the United States nuclear arsenal.".
Mr Pence was speaking during a visit to the Minot air force base in North Dakota in a speech that signals an increase in US nuclear armaments as World War 3 tensions increase thanks to North Korea's threats of nuclear annihilation.
Speaking at a meeting on nuclear threats organised by the Ploughshares Fund, Christopher Ford, the special assistant to the president on weapons of mass destruction stated an end to prior post-cold war military methods.
He stated: "The traditional post-cold war approach of seeking to demonstrate disarmament bona fides by showing steady numerical movement towards elimination, while trying to avoid steps that could actually undermine US national security, has largely run its course and is no longer tenable, especially given evolving security conditions.
"So it's time to explore alternative approaches – and we are." The Trump administration is working on a new policy entitled Nuclear Posture Review (NPR) that was initially presented in September at a White House meeting.
The exact details of the initiative are still being debated - the policy is expected to be completed by the end of 2017 to the start of 2018.
According to The Guardian, sources that have been briefed on the NPR so far have stated that it includes the creation of a low-yield warhead for a ballistic missile, bringing back nuclear Tomahawk missiles, reducing the time needed for US nuclear testing and a relaxation of constraints adopted by the Obama administration.
Mr Obama's NPR pledged that the US would only use nuclear weapons in "extreme circumstances to defend the vital interests of the United States or its allies and partners".
The creation of a low-yield warhead is reported to be a deterrent against a use of nuclear arms by Russia in the Baltic states.
The new military stance is also surely a countermeasure to the increased military threats by despot leader Kim Jong-un. Any changes to the US' military stance would have to be approved by Congress.
The war of words between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un has increased recently after North Korea called Donald Trump "mentally ill" in a stream of propaganda delivered to South Korea.
The rogue nation delivered its deluge of insults via balloons sent across the Korea Demilitarised Zone (DMZ). The fliers dropped into the South Korean capital of Seoul labelled the President "mentally ill" and a "dotard".
The juvenile tactics employed by despot leader Kim Jong-un are seen as a possible response to comments made by Trump who referred to the leader as "rocket man".

WATCH: Trump's SPECTACULAR nuclear bomber used in North Korea threat embark amid WW3 fears - Duration: 4:15.WATCH: Trump's SPECTACULAR nuclear bomber used in North Korea threat embark amid WW3 fears
, captured last weekend, shows the stealth bomber in all its glory shortly before it conducted a long-range mission over the Pacific Ocean. It undoubtedly comes as a brutal warning to Kim Jong-un as North Korea's nuclear war programme, which the rogue state has continued despite global condemnation.
has fired several test missiles into the Pacific Ocean and threatened to target the United States with its finished nuclear weapons. With US President Mr Trump keen to demonstrate his own military capabilities, the nuclear-capable B-2 stealth bomber conducted the long-range mission.
Impressive footage shows the war machine in its hangar at Whitman Air Force Base in Missouri before it flew through the USA's Pacific "area of responsibility" – which stretches north to south from Mongolia to New Zealand and east to west from Pacific islands to India.
The bomber can then be seen taxiing the runway before taking off on its mission.
A US Strategic Command statement said: "These missions validate our always-ready global strike capability and are a visible demonstration of commitment to our allies and enhancing regional security." North Korea have increased their own preparations for the possible outbreak of World War 3, with state media reporting mass-evacuation drills had been carried out to prepare civilians for war across the entire state.
According to NK News, evacuation drills are "extremely rare" and often unheard of in the rogue state. A North Korean defector, who once lived in Pyongyang, said he remembers these types of drills taking place "sometimes three times a year".
NK News claimed "daily air raid drills" were common in 1994 when North Korea and the US were "on the brink of war".
This comes as experts claim North Korea could be able to strike mainland United States within nine months. Speaking to Fox News, Gordon Chang, author of 'Nuclear Showdown', said progress against Kim Jong-un's rogue state must be accelerated.
He said: "Take the case of the most difficult of all which is China. China, at the end of September, seems to have ordered its banks to end their relationship with North Korea.
"But we are going to have to see over term whether they actually enforce that continually. Nonetheless, that's a step forward.
"We have seen a lot of these African countries stop paying money to North Korea and that's a direct result of American diplomacy. "There has been progress.
Now the question is, we need to have progressed pretty quickly because the North Koreans are within about nine months or so will be able to put a nuke on top of a long-range missile and hit the American homeland and, of course, we do not want that capability.
"On the other hand, I think the President actually got the right strategy and is pretty determined to carry it out." .

Nuclear bombers sent to Pacific ahead of Trump's regional visit amid North Korea tensions - Duration: 3:14.Nuclear bombers sent to Pacific ahead of Trump's regional visit amid North Korea tensions
The nuclear-fitted B-2 bombers travelled to the region as US Defence Secretary James Mattis declared the US would not "accept North Korea as a nuclear power".
President Trump will visit South Korea, Japan, China, Vietnam and the Philippines in a trip which has been viewed as highly provocative by Kim Jong-un.
Fears have been raised that Trump arriving in Seoul could spark a war on the Korean peninsular with tensions showing no sign of calming. The tour was announced as a move to "confront the North Korean threat" in September.
The White House said: "The President's engagements will strengthen the international resolve to confront the North Korean threat and ensure the complete, verifiable, and irreversible denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula." The jets can be refuelled mid-flight giving them the ability to strike any point in the world.
Defence Secretary James Mattis said: "I cannot imagine a condition under which the United States would accept North Korea as a nuclear power.
North Korea has accelerated the threat that it poses to its neighbours and the world through its illegal and unnecessary missile and nuclear weapons programs.".
Pyongyang have threatened to test their most powerful nuclear bomb in the Pacific ocean ahead of the visit.
Local news reports have suggested the US President could visit the heavily fortified DMZ border between South Korea and the North which it is feared will be seen as a threat.
In 1983 President Ronald Reagan, who Trump has long admired, took a tour of the area.
Now there have been calls for Trump to carry out the provocative trip as a show of strength. But concerns have been raised the move could provoke retaliation from the isolated dictatorship amid soaring tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
Sue Mi Terry, a former Korea analyst, said: Theyre seeing almost everything as a threat.
They already see him as a very provocative person. Anything that he does will be continually seen that way. Asked about a visit to the border President Trump said: "Well, Id rather not say, but youll be surprised.".

Donald Trump's ex-campaign manager surrenders to FBI in Russia inquiry - Duration: 3:38.Donald Trump's ex-campaign manager surrenders to FBI in Russia inquiry
s former campaign manager Mr Manafort, along with an associate, has surrender to investigators analysing the allegation of Russian interference in last years US election. It marks a huge development in the investigation as to whether meddled in Mr Trumps shock election win - and whether collusion took place between his team and Russia. The charges are the first from the investigation of Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller, who was appointed to look into alleged Russian meddling to sway the election in favour of Mr Trump.
Mr Manafort's former business partner Rick Gates has also been taken in as part of the investigation. .
The pair have been indicted by a federal grand jury on 12 counts including conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money and violating federal lobbying and banking laws, the federal special counsel.
The counsel said: "The indictment contains 12 counts: conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, false and misleading FARA statements, false statements, and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.".
Mr Manafort, 68, served the Trump campaign from June to August of 2016 before resigning amid reports he may have received millions in illegal payments from a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine.
Mr Mueller has been investigating Manaforts financial and real estate dealings and his prior work for that political group, the Party of Regions, which backed former Ukrainian leader Viktor Yanukovich.
Investigators also examined potential money laundering by Mr Manafort and other possible financial crimes, sources have told Reuters.
It comes after a furious Mr Trump posed a series of tweets about alleged Russian meddling. He wrote on Tuesday: "The Dems are using this terrible (and bad for our country) Witch Hunt for evil politics, but the Republicans are now fighting back like never before. "There is so much GUILT by Democrats/Clinton, and now the facts are pouring out.
DO SOMETHING! "All of this 'Russia' talk right when the Republicans are making their big push for historic Tax Cuts & Reform.
Is this coincidental? NOT!" A federal grand jury approved the indictment on Friday, with the first charges set to be unsealed today. .

Trump Spends Indictment Day "Fuming" As Aides Cower In Fear Of His Temper - Duration: 3:55.On Tuesday morning, Donald Trump finally decided to tweet some stuff out about the indictments
and the George Papadopoulos plea deal that was announced on Monday.
Donald Trump did, just like Sarah Huckabee Sanders did and tried to turn it all back
around somehow on the Democrats as if Manafort, Gates, and Papadopoulos were all Democratic
operatives in the mind's of Republicans.
So, that's why the Democrats are going down.
But Monday, indictment day itself, the day all these revelations came out, according
to sources within the White House, Donald Trump spent the day fuming, walking around
the quarters.
Aids, staffers, to the president were basically hiding in fear because they were worried about
how the president was going to react if they had to go up and talk to him.
According to Donald Trump's lawyer, Ty Cobb, the president focused most of his Monday on
presidential work.
He just wanted to go in there and do his job and not think about the indictments.
However, sources within the White House say just the opposite.
Here's the quote here, "Anger Monday was visible to those who interacted with him (Donald Trump),
and the mood in the corridors of the White House was one of weariness and fear of the
unknown."
Now, we have talked plenty of times in the past because there have been countless reports
in recent months, basically since the beginning of the Trump administration, talking about
how White House staffers and aids, essentially, live in fear of Donald Trump.
They do not know how he is going to react in any given situation.
They know he is an explosive, volatile temper, and yesterday was probably one of the worst
days that the president could've even imagined because not only did, basically, three of
his former campaign staffers have to meet with police.
But a new poll came out showing that his approval rating is lower than its ever been at 33%.
Overall, just a bad day for the president who enjoyed a lovely weekend the two days
before that playing golf nonstop.
So, yeah, when you go back to work Monday after a good weekend and find out that your
buddies are going to jail and that most of the country hates you, I have to imagine you're
going to be pretty pissed off walking around the halls.
However, these staffers who continue to talk about living in fear, talk about a man who
has such a just anger problem, probably time for you to start talking to mental health
authorities at this point.
So that they can speak with Republican lawmakers so that they can maybe enact the 25th Amendment.
What's happening with Donald Trump is not normal.
Both with his presidency and with him, himself, as a human being.
That's not the kind of person we need in the White House.
It's dangerous for the future of this country.
Those people that are closest to him, that see these kind of reactions to the news on
a daily basis, they're the ones that need to be speaking with Republicans in Congress
and saying, "Look, this isn't right.
This isn't normal.
He's threatening to do things.
It's time to remove him from office."
But if those people stay silent and only want to leak their stories to the press, we're
not going to make any progress on this.
Donald Trump's going to continue walking around the White House more and more pissed off as
more and more of his friends go to jail, and his approval ratings continue
to plummet.

Bryan Cranston: 'F--- you' to anyone who wants Trump to fail - Duration: 1:38.Bryan Cranston: 'F--- you' to anyone who wants Trump to fail
"Breaking Bad" actor Bryan Cranston, notably outspoken against then-candidate Donald Trump, recently changed his tone, calling out those who don't support the current president.
"President Trump is not the person who I wanted to be in that office, and I've been very open about that, Cranston said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Monday. That being said, he is the president.
"If he fails, the country is in jeopardy. It would be egotistical for anyone to say, 'I hope he fails,'" Cranston said. "To that person I would say, f--- you. Why would you want that? So you can be right?".
The actor, currently promoting Vietnam War-era movie "Last Flag Flying," said he doesn't want Trump to fail. I don't want him to fail, Cranston argued. I want him to succeed.
The actors comments mark an abrupt change from previous remarks he made about the president before he was elected. In October 2016, Cranston said he would move to Canada if Trump were elected to office.
However, in the interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cranston said regardless of political affiliations, he'll support anyone with "a good idea.
"If you've got a good idea that helps the country, oh man, I'm gonna support you," Cranston said. "I don't care if you're a Republican and I'm a Democrat or whatever, I don't care.".
He added: "We've got to get away from this idea that our country is a political football, and someone with a different opinion is the enemy.
Assume they love this country as much as you do, and there's always room for improvement. How can we make it better?".

Trump Says He Will Release All of the JFK Files - Duration: 13:44.the US president Donald Trump has promised to release all the additional
John F Kennedy assassination files the documents containing names and addresses
of people still alive would not be made public. What's up everybody Truth Seeker here.
This says after a strict consultation with general Kelley the CIA
and other agencies I will be releasing all JFK files other than the names and
addresses of any mentioned person who is still living Trump wrote in a series of
tweets referring to his chief of staff John Kelly 2,800 files related to the
assassination of President Kennedy in 1963 were released Thursday the
documents were released under the 1992 John F Kennedy assassination records
collection Act which determined that the u.s. National Archives should publish
the withheld assassination information within a 25 year time frame however many
records still remain securely locked away over fears they could threaten
national security RT reports after consulting US intelligence Trump said
Saturday that he is ready to see all the JFK archive files put out into the
public domain however he said he would not release the names of people still
living who are mentioned in the documents on Thursday the White House
issued a statement saying the documents not published in this round of releases
will be disclosed by April 26 2018 his said redactions will only occur in the
rarest of circumstances meanwhile WikiLeaks challenges Trump's assertion
on Twitter that he released the cache of the secret files long ahead of
schedule tweeting on Sunday the whistleblowing organization pointed out
the deadline was set twenty-five years ago during the George HW Bush
administration the outlet headed by Julian Assange has also offered a
$100,000 reward for the withheld JFK files
that's a pretty nice little reward julian assange is offering right there
something's telling me that what's in these documents must be some really
really really serious sick twisted stuff that's my only you know thing I could
think of because why else would they not be one you know there's something weird
Ren it's really totally making me go with the idea that everything is mafia
ran plus we already got the proof as you've seen in the files that did get
released actually does have some details in it that wasn't in public domain
information especially the fact that the United States was actually doing false
Flags attacks there's actually proof of that now that they was doing it on their
own soil so there's something really deep I think that was attached with
those that is what's being withheld I want to know more about what the CIA has
really been doing on our US grounds and I think those Doc's that aren't released
yet has that information in it but Trump promised that he's gonna actually be
releasing all them he's just gonna be taking out names of people that might
still be alive so we'll see how this goes right that's gonna be pretty
exciting to see those finally get released yeah also moving on to the news
we had seen in having another meltdown says the scene in house meltdown when
guest refuses to buy their fake news narratives for anyone who's been paying
attention the purveyors of fake news are struggling to stay afloat as the
mainstream media continues to push this anti Trump agenda CNN the king of fake
news has been the worst of the bunch and given recent developments in the Mueller
witch-hunt have been drooling over the idea of impeaching the president however
Mueller's investigations turned out absolutely nothing against President
Trump and instead ended up with his bringing in indictment against Paul
Manafort stemming from business discrepancies prior to the election
needless to say the fake news media is rattled by the knowledge that the
Russian collusion narrative is quickly being debunked
and are desperate to keep it alive during the discussion F CNN on the
Mueller mantel art news the panel interrupted into chaos showing just what
dire straits the fake news network finds itself in now I'll go ahead and play the
clip right here for you it has nothing to do with us that is a reaction coming
in this afternoon from the White House amid a barrage of questions of her trunk
campaign associates charge is part of Bob Miller's investigation into Russia's
meddling in the 2016 presidential election so with me now Christine Quinn
former Democratic Speaker of the New York City Council and president of women
in need and Ed Martin CNN political commentator and author of the
conservative case for Trump so welcome to both of you thanks and and and let me
just start with you have you read the Papadopoulos criminal complaint you know
I was just reading it now Brooke funny you say that before I went on with you
out one of the things I was so interested in is the timing he it looks
like he signed the paperwork almost a month ago sort of his plea it's not a
plea actually formally it's an agreement of guilt and you know it's been an
interesting week as a history buff I really was fascinated by the Jay a lot
of the JFK documents and what they really showed among other things was
that J Edgar Hoover who at the time was perceived as a very serious leader it
turns out he was pretty morally corrupt if not otherwise and I just think that
we're gonna find out that this special counsel Robert Mueller the idea that at
the end of a week when President Trump had GDP growth and 3% Wall Street
markets are way up no I'm talking yeah I do you're exactly right I think that
what Miller is corrupt I am suggesting that Bob Moeller did something by taking
the the four-week old document and also the manna for gates document and leaking
it on Friday afternoon the leaks had to happen Friday afternoon should be they
should be indicted and people should go to prison and that is called corrupt
that is a problem the
is happening to this country because no matter what you think of jump in for a
moment gunship got it Chris so this is classic deflect and play what you said
sir is very classic of the Trump playbook what happened here is that
three individuals associated with President Trump and Russia to have been
indicted and one we found out in July pled guilty
there was no leader with that it's not true it's not true
he came country we said it's not true it is true then correct the facts but hold
on cuz we talk over people it's because you got nothing to say but the same
thing over and over again the facts here is Bob Muller is a highly respected
prosecutor on both sides and in fact Republicans and dis conservatives
Democrats progressives hailed his appointment we have gates and mana Ford
indicted in massive charges of wrongdoing
now Papadopoulos is in an agreement with the government and the pimping is now
calling him some lolling volunteer he was in conversations with the Russians
lied to the FBI the f man Court has claimed he obstructed the FBI's work and
his boss in the campaign said that a boy in an email when he was in these
meetings and after so you can try to deflect to Martians and UFOs and JFK's
but the facts here party it's not funny sir because when do they happen it is
not today is a sad day and it is a because president Trump's associates
have been indicted and entering in country or what fully agreements but
stay in this I'll go back to Ed about yelling and listen to the storm don't
call like favor do yourself a favor Christine
don't call people honey that's not a horse your side
okay listen let me respond to your first of all Christine you misspoke and you
misspoke and you corrected yourself the facts are there's no plea there's no
plea agreement okay so there's no plea agreement okay so yourself I thought you
said you were gonna let people not talk over each other I'm naturally elevation
and I corrected it all due respect let's go G listen here's the fact here's the
facts everybody that runs a big campaign like Christine ran for her losing race
for mayor knows lots of people volunteer and claim they're affiliated with a
campaign and then this guy lied he deserves to go to jail if that's the
penalty for lying to the FBI but after that you don't get blamed for every
nitwit or guy who comes in and lies to the FBI that's not how it works and my
point is simply this Brooke we have to be careful and you should want to be
careful too Christine because you lived in a world where Eliot Spitzer abused
his office and Kathleen Kane in Pennsylvania abused her office
we don't want regrets I think the timing of this is very suspect and at the end
of the day we don't want a prosecutor who is a zombie prosecutor attacking
people across let me jump it I have 60 seconds my show guys with all due
respect my show I get the last little word here and I want you to respond to
this because off the top when you are saying that Bob Miller is corrupt you
said something to the effect that you think he he times the news today to
overshadow the economy you know what I said what I said was even on our station
on CNN with Anderson last week we talked about how the president was having a
week where the economy was up Wall Street's up the GDP is up we have Isis
on the run and Hillary Clinton's campaign is admitting they don't know
who paid for the dossier with the Russians and my point is that's weird
everybody in politics Christine especially knows you drop something when
your opponent's doing better on a Friday and let the weekend have a story after
story about speculation about indictment I honestly don't have any idea
kind of drugs these people are on it's that or they had some kind of a weird
lobotomy or something I don't know we're seeing them gets these people I really
don't cuz this is just total insanity and these people their logic just makes
no sense at all but definitely leave your thoughts in the comments below and

US gearing up for WAR? Donald Trump will KEEP emergency strike powers passed after 9/11 - Duration: 2:44.US gearing up for WAR? Donald Trump will KEEP emergency strike powers passed after 9/11
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the 2001 and 2002 War Authorisations should not be repealed and are a "sound basis for ongoing military operations".
The legislation allowed then-President George Bush to launch the Iraq invasion and action against all those he deemed responsible for the terror attack.
The US government now looks likely to keep the measures in its fight against ISIS and other terror groups. Trump's national security aides urged lawmakers not to impose geographic or time limits on military campaigns.
"We are more likely to end this fight sooner if we don't tell our adversary the day we intend to stop fighting" Secretary Of State Rex Tillerson Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis said: "War is fundamentally unpredictable." He and Tillerson argued the current authorisations should not be repealed until new ones are in place.
But concerns over Congress' lack of control have escalated this month after four US soldiers were killed in Niger. Democratic Senator Tim Kaine said: "What's happening in Niger and more broadly in Africa suggests a greater urgency for an AUMF.
"I think the extent of the operation, the number of countries, will be surprising to people." Those calling for new authorisations say the US government has the power to wage war whenever and wherever it wants.
Democrat Senator Ben Cardin said: "I do not think the American people want the United States conducting a global, endless 'Shadow War' under the radar, covert and beyond scrutiny." But Mattis said imposing limitations would only help the US' enemies.
He added: "We are more likely to end this fight sooner if we don't tell our adversary the day we intend to stop fighting.".
