Trump news on Youtube Jul 12 2018

Thank, thank you Mr. Chair. First I want to thank both our witnesses for being

here and thank you so much for your service and please, my comments are not

really directed at you. And I have a lot of respect for what USAID

does and the development that the State Department takes part in so first

I wanted to start with - I guess, sometimes I think I'm just living

living totally in a, in a bad episode of Saturday Night Live.

I happen to represent beautiful Palm Beach, where Mar-a-Lago sits and very

interesting Donald Trump asked permission to hire 78 foreign workers at

Mar-a-Lago for the season. Hmmm doesn't he think there were American workers who

could take those jobs? Oh well, I thought that was very interesting. Anyway,

on to another point which I think is actually much more important which is

the fact that we are witnessing what I call a Trump induced crisis at our

Mexican border. We've heard many people comment on this but I'm going to say it

again because until these families are united I am NOT going to shut up about

this. Mothers and fathers who are seeking refuge from extreme danger and

persecution they finally think they come for refuge and what do? They get

to our border and this government steals their children right out of their

arms. And you know what's happening now? Our government is so incompetent and

so uncaring they are, they can't even match up most of these

children. Total - this is going to be a dark stain on this country with what's

going on here. I went to the border a couple weeks ago with some other members

and you know, look, I am the granddaughter of an immigrant having

everybody here is either the grand daughter or the grandson of an immigrant

right? And what I saw was heartbreaking, and I'm just going to talk about meeting

with the mothers who listening to their

excruciating crying because their children were taken from them they

didn't haven't seen them didn't know where they were and what one woman told

me that she was told she was gonna go to court for 48 hours and then it's a month

later she shouldn't even know where her child was. The other day I had a little

roundtable at the Guatemala Center in my, where I live and they do

wonderful work there and I heard from a young woman who told me that her

cousin, her cousin came over from the fleeing from gangs and violence in

Guatemala. Got to the border with her ten year old

son the ten year old son is now in Homestead in Florida, and guess where the

mother is? She was deported back to Guatemala. Now I just got a little - you

know it's a good thing I get these you get these little alerts from your phone -

This is what's happening now. Listen to this one - one mother had waited four

months to wrap around - four months to wrap her arms around her

little boy, another had waited three months to see her little girl again and

when it finally happened, Tuesday in Phoenix, the mothers were met

with cries of rejection from their children. The children didn't even

recognize the mothers! They were screaming for the caseworkers and what I

heard yesterday at this roundtable from child professional psychologists

was the trauma that these children, toxic trauma that these children are

experiencing. Well we can see that right now. Could you imagine they don't even

know who their parents are? So, here's what I wanted

to say - I mean a lot of the questions I was gonna ask have been asked

and answered I want to thank you for that but I think there's no question and

I want to say this building a wall is not going to solve the problem

separating children inhumanely from their parents it's not gonna solve this

problem we have got to get into these countries and do the work and I just saw

that there's a proposal now to cut 180 million dollars in front in funding for

for Central America to me that is just dumb. alright? that is really dumb I don't

have to ask you what you think about it you're good people

I'm not gonna force you to answer that but Mr. Chair just want to conclude by

saying that that that we have to step up our efforts to try to get to the root

causes and we need immigration reform that Congress is responsible for and we

should do that as soon as we can and thank you for patiently being here with

us today. Thank You Congressman Frankel.

Dershowitz on liberal uproar over his defense of Trump - Duration: 13:54.

right here with reaction to my opening monologue former US Attorney for the

District of Columbia our friend Joe digenova

who by the way has done legal work for me in the past recently thank God

because he's very expensive because he's that good I'm only kidding Joe and this

brand-new book out by professor Dershowitz is absolutely amazing you

need to read it it really is educational scald the case against impeaching Donald

Trump Harvard Law School professor Allen Durst which by the way right after this

show tonight 10:00 Eastern professor Dershowitz will be hosting an online

book signing you can order that book submit a suggestion right on my web site

Hannity com it's on my web site Hannity calm I want you one of the things that

is so sad is how polarized we can't talk to each other we can't talk to each

other you know and Martha's Vineyard right when I go to court and I argue

against the prosecutor Rudy Giuliani you know he was the prosecutor when I was a

young defense attorney we fought each other like tigers and then we'd walk out

shake hands and have a drink you could talk to each other I understood his

position he understood my position he was doing his job I was doing my job

it's gone what look at the nomination last night a blank sighs whoever it is

we're going to oppose look I would have nominated somebody else my choice would

have been Merrick garland I think the Republicans stole that nomination but

I'm gonna have an open mind about a Kavanagh might intellectual brilliant

brilliant guy look he went to Yale Law School not bad

we were both first in our class he went to many taught at Harvard hey knock that

wasn't first in my class professor hey he's a brilliant guy and you know when I

I didn't I can't tell you the content of my conversation with the president the

president did ask me my advice and one of the things the president emphasized

was his academic background and the fact that he had such a strong academic

background and that he was teaching at Harvard at Yale at Georgetown all these

places and and and that means he has an open mind

look what I wish he had different views I'm gonna disagree with it he also

changed his mind he did and that's a great great attribute the ability to

he's gonna serve on the court 30 years none of us has any idea what the crucial

issues will be thirty years from now no I've been friends with a long long time

and we agree on foreign policy on the Middle East and Israel is Joe Lieberman

yeah me too and Joel even when he ran as an independent he said he said just stop

saying you like me let me bring Joe Joe Jenna me and Joe I know you're gonna

like this book seriously it is it's it is rare I know right now I know as a

Dershowitz is under fire for standing up for principles he's always held yes this

is not a good time well the reason for that is very simple

you can't be honest anymore you can't be intellectually honest and the reason is

and I hate to say this the leftist and the Democrats have established an

idiocracy and it's populated by fools knaves and intellectual pickpockets just

all you have to do is listen to Senator Ben Cardin who won Face the Nation

the other day said that the nominee for the Supreme Court was coming from an

extremist organization the Federalist Society members of which included John

Roberts Nino Scalia Clarence Thomas Sam Alito and Neil Gorsuch when a United

States Senator says something as stupid and is ignorant and as uninformed as

that that's why people are treating Alan Dershowitz the way they are at the Cape

it's an embarrassment the intellectual dishonesty of these people is staggering

they're frightened of other ideas let's let's talk about this book in in the

context of where we are with the Muller investigation because you have called

this for what it is from the beginning it's very dangerous when we criminalize

political differences which are your words right not mine right no I agree

and I think Muller is going to end up not having accomplished very much

you cannot indict a sitting president we know that Cavanaugh agrees with that as

well and you cannot impeach a president unless he's committed a crime collusion

is not a crime the president can't obstruct justice

by simply simply exercising his authority under Article two so in the

end there's just gonna be a report some low-hanging fruit some people will be

indicted their families will be ruined Paul mana for for 2005 its case 12 three

hours of the situation and he should not be in jail he should be out he being

convicted and I missed it I know and and you know and poor black people shouldn't

be in jail if they can't afford bail it's a systemic problem

and just because you stand up for Paul Manafort doesn't mean you can't also

stand up but for Brittany I think one of the greatest moments of the Trump

presidency is when he pardoned a woman who will the first-time offender know it

was the right thing to do it was terrific it was the right thing to do

and it he did it because his gut told him there was a ninja when she said you

I will not let the American people down I asked the guy whose pumps it was

touching and she entered the arms of her family let me go the it's interesting I

I know fake news is what they are joe digenova but they tried to equate a 2009

writing I believe it was Minnesota law review of my mind is correct about by

judge Kavanagh as it relates to going after and I was a sitting president too

that's why Trump picked him he did this before the Obama administration your

reaction is well look look all of these all of this nitpicking about individual

writings means absolutely nothing it's any port in a storm he is such a

qualified candidate he is so superb this is what they've fallen to it's not going

to work and I predict at least three Democrats are gonna vote for him all

right Thank You Georgie gentlemen this book right here you can go to Hannity

calm in 23 minutes professor Dershowitz is gonna sign copies this book you care

about justice and the president what the witch-hunt

you're gonna want to read this book it's important for anybody any political

persuasion congratulations good to see you sir she ate

right this now a Fox News Alert breaking just moments ago our own catherine

herridge reporting that the corrupt FBI lawyer lisa page now will in fact not

comply with the subpoena and will not be testifying before a closed-door session

of Congress tomorrow which she said up until about an hour ago she would be

attending here with reaction author of The New York Times bestseller trumps

America the truth about America's great comeback and he is also the executive

producer of the first American which is now available on Amazon Prime video

former Speaker of the House Fox News contributor of Newt Gingrich's with us

she is now citing if I may Mr Speaker the idea that in fact congressional

source said that they did expect her but in fact she's claiming that she didn't

get the materials from Congress that she thought she would have well I mean who

knows what the deal is here increasingly these guys sound like the old mafia

bosses who used to show up for the Kefauver hearings many many years ago in

the early days of television and they would sit there and they would plead the

fifth and for the country at large was a huge spectacle and it kind of gave you

the signals who's guilty you're discovering that at the very senior

levels of the FBI and I believe of the Justice Department under Obama you had a

level of corruption that makes it very dangerous for them to show up and to

actually testify and so I think their lawyers legitimately under our system

are saying to them to protect yourself you cannot go under oath and start

talking about this stuff well you're going to create a they're going to

reveal information that will put you in jail or you can end up committing

perjury and so I think you're seeing a real example with them it sounds to me

like if they didn't have a whole lot to hide they wouldn't be hiding and what

we're seeing is people who I think have a lot to hide well what's a minute

listen I would actually say and I said this about the FBI director James Comey

whoever allowed him to write that book who was as an attorney and go on that

book tour I think did not sir him particularly well and I reminded him

at the time he had the right to remain silent

Lisa Paige was the top attorney for Andrew McCabe the Deputy Director of the

FBI and the boyfriend of Peter struck was at the heart of all of this she's

involved in the text messages we will stop him insurance policy calling Trump

every name in the book etc I honestly feel when you think of the ramifications

and how profound it is that they wanted to literally alter at a presidential

election in a way I don't think I would allow her to testify I think you're

faced with what is increasingly obvious as a bureaucratic coup d'etat where they

literally were trying to prop up Secretary Clinton

no matter how guilty she was and they're trying to find some device to block

Donald Trump no matter how innocent he was and I think this is I mean if you

want to see evidence that there is a deep state all you have to do is follow

this couple all of their various tweets and text messages I'm numb in text

messages and you begin to realize there was something profoundly wrong going on

yeah well obviously there really is because also Peter struck was the one

writing the exoneration he's the one that replaced gross negligence with

extreme carelessness he's the one that interviewed Michael Flynn he didn't

think Michael Flynn was lying he interviewed Hillary Clinton three days

later she was exonerated but he had been building the exoneration case since May

this did this happened in July on top of that he was at the heart of the the

start of what is the the phony Russia case this guy was up to his eyeballs in

every single solitary thing leading up to this election with the desire to rush

the Russia investigation so that they could get Trump this is about impacting

an election well I think for everyday common-sense non-lawyers and I'm not a

lawyer all you have to do is ask yourself the following picture Paul

Manafort who has not been convicted yet of anything

is apparently spending 23 hours a day in solitary confinement meanwhile every

single person in the Clinton team no matter what they have done has basically

been ignored exonerated allowed to go free now if you want to see how sick the

system is look at the way they're treating Paul man afford and look at the

way they treated Hillary's aides including the guy who took a hammer to

break up the smart phones and took bleach spit to destroy the memory of the

computers and say to yourself how come all these people had nothing done to

them and without even being convicted Paul Manafort is in solitary confinement

for 23 hours a day for a cold we have a very sick system a 2005 tax case and

remember what the judge said judge Ellis the third that they're putting the

screws to man afford for the purpose that he will sing or compose and that

the idea is to use him to either prosecute or impeach Donald Trump the

judge said that in the case let me move on you see the less reaction

fill-in-the-blank they had it all prepared against against whoever the

president chose your reaction to that and of course the president's election

this is one of the most important decisions any president will make look

I'm gonna go out on a limb tonight I believe that Judge Cavanaugh was so

impressive last night that his introduction by the president his own

speech the very appearance of his two daughters and his wife and his mother

and his father I believe that this is such a remarkable and easily defendable

person I'm gonna I'm just gonna go outside and say I believe at least three

Democrats are going to ignore the suggestion of the Democratic whip dick

Durbin that they ought to commit suicide and vote no and they're going to vote

yes and I think you're going to see a real split between the radical extremist

wing of the Democratic Party and people who believe

that the system really should work they really do want to find a way to work in

the system the very reliable Chuck Schumer votes of Claire McCaskill and

Nelson Heitkamp and tester and the rest of them it's gonna be interesting to

watch the election year conversion which isn't real mr. speaker great to see you

can grab some the book we appreciate you being with us always good to be with you

President Trump Makes 2 6 Million - Duration: 15:59.

President Trump Makes 2.6 Million

President Trump is on a roll this week and in that mode, he's about to make 2.6 million

grandparents very, very happy.

All with the stroke of a pen.

He's on a roll this week with pardoning the Hammonds, putting NATO fiscally in their

place and nominating Bret Kavanaugh to fill the void about to be left by Justice Kennedy

at the Supreme Court.

All promises kept and all fantastic news for Americans.

Perhaps Americans will never tire of winning after all.

On Monday, July 9, President Trump signed into law The Supporting Grandparents Raising

Grandchildren Act, first introduced by Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA)

in May of 2017.

The Supporting Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Act has received support from 40 older adult

and child advocacy groups including AARP, American Academy of Pediatrics and Generations

United, which aims to improve the lives of kids and older adults.

The law signed by President Trump will provide resources to grandparents who are raising

their grandchildren.

The Supporting Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Act cleared the Senate unanimously in June.

It creates a federal task force that will set up a one-stop shop of resources for millions

of grandparents in the U.S. who are raising grandchildren.

This has to do with the fight against opioid abuse and the resulting effect it has had

on grandparents who wind up raising their displaced grandchildren.

They are forced into providing caregiving and a family environment for these children

while their children are treated for their addiction.

Sometimes this even includes great grandparents these days.

"With so many parents struggling with addiction, grandparents are increasingly coming to the

rescue and assuming this role," said Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), who co-authored the

bill.

"It is essential that we do all that we can to help these families."

It also addresses the fact that many of these parents d*e and the grandparents become defacto

parents to their poor grandchildren.

This law and the resources it provides was desperately needed by affected grandparents.

The resources the federal government will make available will include information about

legal custody, social services and mental health counseling, according to AARP, which

supported the bill.

"Approximately 2.6 million children are currently being raised in grandfamilies, and

experts say this number is rising as the opioid epidemic continues to devastate families and

communities across the country.

The legislation follows a March Aging Committee hearing where the members heard from grandparents

who are raising grandchildren when parents are struggling with addiction or are no longer

able to care for their children.

During the hearing, experts and grandparents testified on the need for grandparents to

have easy access to information about resources available to assist them.

""As the opioid epidemic expands, grandparents increasingly are being called on to become

the primary caregivers of their grandchildren.

Although this caretaker role can be beneficial for both the grandparents and the grandchildren,

it also presents several challenges," Sen. Collins said.

"Our legislation would spur a federal effort to identify, promote, coordinate and disseminate

information, resources and best practices that assist grandparents who are raising grandchildren."

""The opioid crisis is not only straining families, communities, law enforcement and

health care systems, but it is also presents new challenges for older Americans," Sen.

Casey said.

"As older Americans respond by stepping in to care for their grandchildren, this legislation

is designed to say that you are not alone and that we have your back, with a focused

federal effort to providing the information and supports grandparents need.""

The law will establish a Federal Advisory Council to support grandparents and other

relatives raising children.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will be the lead agency coordinating the work

of the council.

Its charge is to identify, promote, coordinate and disseminate information about resources

and best practices to help relative caregivers meet the health, educational, nutritional

and other needs of the children in their care, as well as maintain their own physical and

mental health and emotional well-being.

The council will also develop a process so the public can provide comments and recommendations

to them.

Federal employees representing various agencies and departments whose work impacts grandfamilies

will comprise the other members of the council.

This includes agencies like the Administration for Community Living, Administration for Children

and Families, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Mental Health and Substance

Use.

To document the council's progress, they will issue a report to Congress in the first

six months and again in two years on best practices, resources and other information

for grandfamilies — as well as gaps in services to meet the families' needs.

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) is one of the sponsors of the bipartisan bill.

I usually don't agree with him on anything, but this time is different.

Brown said his office has heard from a number of affected grandparents in Ohio and from

other places.

He points to the opioid epidemic as one of the contributing factors to the trend.

"Experts report these numbers are growing as the epidemic gets worse," he said.

"Any parent of a young toddler can tell you caring for young children can be physically

demanding," he said.

"For so many grandparents then, taking on that responsibility means the end of retirement

for those who can go back to work or depletion of savings," Brown said.

It's devastating many families out there.

Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), another co-author of the bill, said he was pleased the legislation

was signed into law, saying that grandparents face "unique challenges such as delaying

retirement, bridging the generational divide and working through the court system to secure

custody."

This isn't about parties or politics… it's about a crisis that is ravaging this

country over opioid abuse.

While Congress continues to fight and tussle on most issues, legislators have come together

a remarkable number of times this year in support of grandparents and other relatives

raising children.

President Trump deserves the credit for this.

He has not forgotten about these grandparents, their children or grandchildren.

That being said, why didn't Obama focus on families affected by the opioid crisis?

Via Medium:

"Under President Obama, a small army of executive branch "slow-walkers" served

as pallbearers, knowingly or not, to the grim march of overdose deaths from commonly prescribed

opioids that was already underway in years before he took office.

As the body count climbed, the Brownlee-led US Attorney settlement with Purdue, as well

as West Virginia's 2004 settlement against the same company, ought to have prompted scores

of decisions to reign in opioid prescribing.

Instead, the opposite happened: prescribing numbers continued to grow throughout Obama's

first term, reaching a peak in 2012.

Despite subsequent reductions, they remain the highest in the world.

During Obama's time in office, licit opioid prescribing increased not only in number but

also in potency.

Most notable was expanded use of the powerful synthetic known as fentanyl, a drug approved

only for opioid-tolerant c****r patients suffering from pain beyond the reach of traditional

opioids, but one that drug makers marketed in a manner of ways, including in advertisements

that pictured construction workers and others employed in similar, physically demanding

jobs.

Although a reduction in opioid supply was desperately needed, and close scrutiny of

opioid manufacturers more than warranted, the Obama administration declined to do either.

What most exacerbated the opioid crisis was the dramatic rise in overdose deaths from

heroin and heroin adulterated with illicit synthetics (fentanyl and carfentanil).

While Obama was president, illicit heroin underwent an industrial transformation: market

expansion, innovation, and in many places, a reconfiguration of production and distribution.

Yet the path of initiation to heroin via prescription pills that fueled its resurgence went substantially

unchallenged by the president.

In fact, it was strengthened and fortified.

Though Obama did not start the opioid crisis, it is a blunt and brutal fact that, under

his administration, drug overdose became the leading cause of d***h for Americans under

the age of 50, and the opioid crisis became the worst drug epidemic in American history.

It is an irrevocable part of his legacy as president."

Trump Just Accused This Democrat Of A Major Crime And It Could Mean Prison - Duration: 10:23.

Trump Just Accused This Democrat Of A Major Crime And It Could Mean Prison

Democrats have ramped up their resistance to President Trump.

Now elected officials are openly defying the law.

But Trump's had enough and accused this high profile Democrat of a major crime that

could land her behind bars.

Oakland's Democrat Mayor Libby Schaaf made national headlines when she tipped off illegal

aliens about an upcoming ICE raid.

Hundreds of illegal aliens escaped capture.

Trump was outraged that an elected official who was put into office by American citizens

would prioritize the well-being of illegal aliens – some of whom were violent criminals

– over the safety and security of the American people.

At an event in West Virginia, Trump accused Schaaf of obstructing justice.

Fox News reports:

"President Donald Trump declared Thursday that he believes Oakland, Calif.

Mayor Libby Schaaf (D) committed obstruction of justice by warning the illegal immigrant

community of a pending ICE raid.

"How about the mayor of Oakland, where she tells a thousand people to get going [because]

law enforcement is coming to get [them]?" Trump asked the crowd at a tax reform roundtable

in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

Trump said Schaaf intentionally planned the announcement after getting tipped off about

the ICE operation.

"To me, that's obstruction of justice and something should happen there," he said.

Trump said his administration has "liberated" other American cities from illegal immigrant-led

gangs and the like.

He mentioned that several towns on Long Island, N.Y. – like Central Islip and Brentwood

– have been greatly affected by MS-13.

Trump said that, as a native of Jamaica, Queens, he knows Long Island well and pledged to continue

to keep it from being further "taken over by thugs."

Attorney General Jeff Sessions previously stated the Department of Justice was looking

into whether Schaaf had obstructed justice.

Trump supporters believe action should be taken.

Federal immigration law is the law of the land.

Oakland doesn't get to pick and choose which laws it enforces.

And Schaaf's conduct went well beyond "resistance."

She actively sabotaged a law enforcement action.

Do you believe she should be sent to jail for obstructing justice?

Trump urges NATO members to double military spending to 4% of GDP - Duration: 2:01.

U.S. President Donald Trump has urged NATO allies to double their military spending to

four percent of their GDP.

He made comments on Wednesday while attending a NATO summit in Brussels.

For more on this and other news around the world we turn to our Ro Aram..

Aram… run us through how the summit went…

Well Mark…

NATO members seemed a quite bewildered by Trump's comments…

The issue of defense spending and improved burden-sharing are issues Trump has repeatedly

harped on.

But NATO says Trump's proposed target of four percent of GDP on military spending is not

even being met by the United States.

Trump had earlier said Washington spends 4.2 percent, but according to numbers released

by NATO, it spent an estimated three and a half percent on defense this year, which is

a fraction lower than last year's figure.

He also singled out Germany for not pulling its weight, saying Berlin only spends "a little

over one percent.

NATO figures show Germany spends just under one and a quarter percent.

When asked about Trump's proposal, this is what NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg

had to say…

"…..Well I will focus on what we have agreed and we have agreed to be committed to the

pledge increasing defence spending to 2 percent.

And let's start with that.

So we have a way to go, but the good news is that we really started to deliver……"

Despite Trump's complaints, he did sign the joint communique, in which NATO members agreed

to focus on more defense-spending and burden-sharing.

They also pledged to bolster the alliance's deterrence and defense capabilities to counter

Russian threats.

The joint communique comes just days before Trump meets Russian President Vladimir Putin

in Helsinki.
