JAIL TIME COMING!!

TRUMP JUST EXPOSED ONE THING MUELLER WANT TO HIDE MOST

President Trump's lawyers are preparing written responses to questions from Special

Counsel Robert Mueller regarding possible collusion with Russia.

The move, first reported by CNN, marks a major advance in negotiations between Trump's

attorneys and Mueller's team and could signal that the investigation is entering its final

phases.

The two sides have battled for months over whether Trump would appear for an interview

with Mueller's prosecutors or submit answers in writing.

Trump's legal team, led by Jay Sekulow and Rudy Giuliani, have also pushed for a narrow

set of questions to be posed to Trump.

Mueller, who was appointed special counsel on May 17, 2017, is investigating whether

the Trump campaign conspired with Russians to influence the 2016 election as well whether

Trump obstructed justice by firing James Comey as FBI director.

Comey's firing, on May 9, 2017, paved the way for Mueller's appointment.

Trump's lawyers have reportedly pushed to avoid dealing with questions about obstruction

of justice.

Giuliani, the public face of Trump's legal team, has argued that Trump was allowed to

fire Comey for any reason he saw fit.

In April, The New York Times published a list of nearly 50 questions that Mueller presented

the Trump team.

The questions covered a wide array of topics, including activities on the campaign as well

as the firing of Michael Flynn

as

national

security adviser.

Senate passes bill to avoid shutdown as Trump talks border wall - Duration: 3:04.

The Senate unanimously approved the legislation Wednesday. But a House GOP conference meeting Thursday morning sparked confusion about whether the chamber could pass it amid simmering opposition within the caucus.

House Republicans huddled Thursday morning, and leaders reportedly could not assure members that Trump would sign the bill. The leaders then canceled a news conference after House Speaker Paul Ryan took an emergency call from the president. Republicans claimed they delayed the event due to the meeting running long and votes taking place on the floor, according to NBC News.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy told members that they would hold another conference meeting later Thursday to discuss funding, NBC reported. It is unclear when they meeting will take place.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has said Democrats will support the short term funding bill.

If the House passes the bill and Trump signs it, lawmakers will dodge the third government shutdown this year and delay the ongoing immigration debate until Democrats hold a House majority next year. But Trump — who said last week he would be "proud" to shut down the government over border security — has left the door open to vetoing the bill. The hardline GOP House Freedom Caucus and Trumps allies in the conservative media have urged him not to sign a bill that does not fund the barrier.

Lawmakers have already funded five departments, including the Pentagon and Health and Human Services. The seven unfunded agencies make up about a quarter of the government.

In separate tweets Thursday morning, the president threatened retribution for Democrats for not funding the wall and . Democrats "know Steel Slats Wall are necessary for Border Security" but "are putting politics over Country," he contended. He threatened not to "sign any of their legislation, including infrastructure, unless it has perfect Border Security."

But the president seemed to contradict himself in his next tweet. He suggested he did not need the barrier for strong border security. Trump said U.S. agencies have done a "great job" at the border.

"Border is tight. Fake News silent!" he wrote.

As of Wednesday, the White House had not indicated whether Trump would sign the bill. The president will "take a look" and decide whether to approve it once he sees what Congress passes, a senior administration official told CNBC.

Trump sought dollar 5 billion for the wall in the spending package. Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer .

The conservative Freedom Caucus, staunch supporters of the president and his immigration agenda, pushed for the dollar 5 billion in wall money on the House floor Wednesday night. They also called for an end to the so called catch and release immigration policy. The caucuss members reportedly plan to oppose the spending bill, which means Republicans would need Democratic support to pass it.

Trump has started to justify his failure to secure wall funding in the spending bill. As a candidate, he repeatedly promised Mexico would pay for the barrier. On Wednesday, he claimed Americas southern neighbor will fund the wall through his revised North American trade agreement, .

He also contended that the U.S. military will construct the wall — a process that could also require congressional appropriations.

TRUMP DROPS MASSIVE NUKE ON MUELLER,ROBERT MUELLER IN FULL PANIC MODE - Duration: 15:13.

TRUMP DROPS MASSIVE NUKE ON MUELLER,ROBERT MUELLER IN FULL PANIC MODE

Has President Donald Trump been subpoenaed by special counsel Robert Mueller?

If you believe Politico the answer is yes.

A new report by Politico on Wednesday said that court documents have been filed that

makes it appear as if Mueller has subpoenaed the president to testify before the grand

jury.

The legal fight of the century may have already started, and almost no one noticed?

According to former federal prosecutor Nelson Cunningham, recent reporting — some of it

just by hanging around the clerk's office in Washington DC — reveals a very unusual

level of activity involving a grand jury, a subpoena, and bunch of expedited appeals.

Has Robert Mueller subpoenaed the president? Cunningham says "it all fits":

But now, thanks to Politico's reporting (backed up by the simple gumshoe move of sitting

in the clerk's office waiting to see who walks in and requests what file), we may know

what Mueller has been up to: Since mid-August, he may have been locked in proceedings with

Trump and his lawyers over a grand jury subpoena – in secret litigation that could tell us

by December whether the president will testify before Mueller's grand jury.

The evidence lies in obscure docket entries at the clerk's office for the D.C. Circuit.

Thanks to Politico's Josh Gerstein and Darren Samuelsohn, we know that on August 16th (the

day after Giuliani said he was almost finished with his memorandum, remember), a sealed grand

jury case was initiated in the D.C. federal district court before Chief Judge Beryl A.

Howell.

We know that on September 19, Chief Judge Howell issued a ruling and 5 days later one

of the parties appealed to the D.C. Circuit.

And thanks to Politico's reporting, we know that the special counsel's office is involved

(because the reporter overheard a conversation in the clerk's office).

We can further deduce that the special counsel prevailed in the district court below, and

that the presumptive grand jury witness has frantically appealed that order and sought

special treatment from the judges of the D.C. Circuit – often referred to as the "second-most

important court in the land."

How do we know this isn't Roger Stone, Carter Page, or some other fringe figure in the special

counsel investigation?

Presumably, any number of people would fight a grand-jury subpoena if one got delivered

to them, and might appeal a lower-court defeat.

That's true enough, Cunningham acknowledges, but few of them would get those appeals fast-tracked,

especially in the manner the court docket suggests.

After the first appeal was lodged, the court gave Mueller's team only three days to respond,

then dismissed the appeal two days after Mueller's team filed their response — apparently on

technical grounds, because the district court issued a favorable ruling to the witness,

who renewed the appeal.

Back before the D.C. Circuit, this case's very special handling continued.

On October 10, the day the case returned to the court, the parties filed a motion for

expedited handling, and within two days, the judges had granted their motion and set an

accelerated briefing schedule.

The witness was given just 11 days to file briefs; the special counsel (presumably) just

two weeks to respond; and reply papers one week later, on November 14 (for those paying

attention, that's 8 days after the midterm elections).

Oral arguments are set for December 14.

That's pretty fast for an ordinary witness' appeal of a subpoena, Cunningham argues, but

that's not the most compelling circumstance.

After losing the first appeal, the witness asked for an en banc review, which would require

all ten current judges on the DC Circuit Court of Appeal to rule on the case.

That itself is unusual, Cunningham argues, suggesting that the witness presents specific

and unique circumstances.

And at that point, a very curious thing happened — Judge Gregory Katsas recused himself before

the en banc petition was denied.

And who is Gregory Katsas?

He's the only current Trump appointee to the DC Circuit, Cunningham notes, as well

as a former deputy counsel to Trump.

The en banc petition wouldn't require a recusal if the witness were someone like Stone

or Page, as Katsas testified during his confirmation hearings that he never worked on anything

to do with the special counsel investigation.

However …

But if the witness were the president himself – if the matter involved an appeal from

a secret order requiring the president to testify before the grand jury – then Judge

Katsas would certainly feel obliged to recuse himself from any official role.

Not only was the president his former client (he was deputy counsel to the president, remember)

but he owes his judicial position to the president's nomination.

History provides a useful parallel: In 1974, in the unanimous Supreme Court decision US

v Nixon requiring another witness-president to comply with a subpoena, Justice William

Rehnquist recused himself for essentially the same reasons.

But, The New York Times Maggie Haberman reported, that the speculation is nothing more than

fake news according to President Trump's counsel Jay Sekulow.

"The report in Politico is completely false.

There has been no subpoena issued and there is no litigation," he

told her.

TRUMP JUST DROPS A DEVASTATING ANNOUNCEMENT ON SPECIAL COUNSEL ROBERT MUELLER - Duration: 13:35.

TRUMP JUST DROPS A DEVASTATING ANNOUNCEMENT ON SPECIAL COUNSEL ROBERT MUELLER

Robert Mueller and his rigged witch hunt crossed the line.

Mueller terrorized Trump associates in an effort to frame the President for collusion

with Russia.

But then Trump shut down Mueller with these two tweets.

Donald Trump Points Out The Mueller Probe Is A Scam

The Mueller probe is an illegitimate scam.

More Americans realize this every day.

And they are fed up with the fact that Mueller is part of a coup to overthrow a President

duly elected by the American people.

According to both CNN and NBC's exit polling data from the midterm elections, more Americans

disapprove of the way Mueller is handling the investigation than approve of it.

It's not hard to see why.

Mueller's collusion case is a bust.

He has indicted no one for conspiring with Russia.

Roger Stone was his main target, but Stone recently produced text messages that proved

he told the truth about receiving information about WikiLeaks hacked emails from a backchannel

source.

Donald Trump reacted to this news by again pointing out that Mueller's investigation

is a rigged witch hunt.

Trump tweeted:

The inner workings of the Mueller investigation are a total mess.

They have found no collusion and have gone absolutely nuts.

They are screaming and shouting at people, horribly threatening them to come up with

the answers they want.

They are a disgrace to our Nation and don't…

….care how many lives the ruin.

These are Angry People, including the highly conflicted Bob Mueller, who worked for Obama

for 8 years.

They won't even look at all of the bad acts and crimes on the other side.

A TOTAL WITCH HUNT LIKE NO OTHER IN AMERICAN HISTORY!

Donald Trump Stays On The Offense Trump also pointed out the real collusion

case that someone should investigate.

He tweeted:

Universities will someday study what highly conflicted (and NOT Senate approved) Bob Mueller

and his gang of Democrat thugs have done to destroy people.

Why is he protecting Crooked Hillary, Comey, McCabe, Lisa Page & her lover, Peter S, and

all of his friends on the other side?

He also wrote:

The only "Collusion" is that of the Democrats with Russia and many others.

Why didn't the FBI take the Server from the DNC?

They still don't have it.

Check out how biased Facebook, Google and Twitter are in favor of the Democrats.

That's the real Collusion!

Mueller will never investigate those crimes.

That's because they were committed by loyal members of the swamp.

Mueller's job is to protect the swamp and destroy Donald Trump.

That's why he's harassing Trump supporters like investigative journalist Jerome Corsi.

Corsi said he expects Mueller's team to indict him for perjury even though he believed

he was fully truthful.

But Corsi supported Trump.

He also wrote a book about how he believed Barack Obama was born in Kenya.

So Mueller singled him out for destruction.

And now he may end up spending the rest of his life in prison—despite the fact he never

worked for the Trump campaign and never colluded with the Russians.

We will keep you up to date on any new developments

in this

ongoing story.

TRUMP FINALLY DID IT TO SHUT DOWN THE ENTIRE BORDER!!

DEMS NEVER SAW THIS COMING

one of the people's favorite emojis thatNthere's the one that goes like this wellVthat's where

we are now with this whole funding battle after the president called

over leaders of Congress Republican side to a meeting at the

White House in which he basically told them that he needed to have something about border

security in the bill or he

certainly wasn't going to sign it the president in a statement from Sarah Sanders saying quote

President Trump just met with Republican members of the

House not surprisingly they all feel strongly about border security stopping the flow of

drugs stopping human trafficking and stopping terrorism we

protect nations all over the world the Democrats are unwilling to protect our nation we urgently

need funding for

border security and that includes a wall when the Speaker of the House his last day is supposed

to be today walked out of the White House it was clear that the president

dug in his heels and said I want something more than what the Senate

gave me last night listen here so what we're gonna do is go back to the house and work

with our members we want to keep the government open but we also

want to see an agreement that protects the border we have very serious concerns about

securing our border so the president said he will not sign this bill

so we're going to go back and work on adding border security to this also keeping the government

open because we do want to see an agreement just for the record

here are the 12 members of Congress on the Republican side who were in the meeting was

the Speaker Paul Ryan Kevin McCarthy the

incoming minority leader Steve Scalise Liz Cheney mo Brooks of Alabama Jim Jordan additionally

mark meadows Paul Mitchell Chris Gibson mark walker Barry ladder Milken and Wagner all

there as well but that the real question now Dana is I'm not

sure what they do because the Senate's left town and if they pass a measure that's got

funding for border

security in it there's nobody from the Senate to take a look at it the president will be

speaking at 2:30 we do know that so we he'll probably have

something to say about this it's also Ninteresting to note too that the president has kind of

stopped talking about a quote wall it is now talking

about a steel slat barrier which maybe Democrats may find more palatable I doubt it but he's

talking about it in

different terms well he's giving them some options on I did have one question for you

which is then why didn't the president say anything

before the Senate voted on the bill that now he doesn't like you know I was

talking to White House officials yesterday afternoon when this idea the CR was floating

around the Senate and I said so are you you're going to eat the CR and sign it and the consensus

seemed

to be yeah the president would you know reluctantly sign it but then the president woke up this

morning clearly was of a different mind than what his

aides told me yesterday so he wants this this funding for border security what he

can't get out of Congress he's going to try to get out of existing appropriation so this

tale has yet to be told in full and like many things around here at the

White House it's going to be a doozy IBwill not surrender this nation to the whims of

criminal organizations who prey on the vulnerable who hurt women and children

and has spread human misery and suffering human trafficking and massive drug inflow

must also be stopped it's at a tremendous level what we're doing and the

incredible job being done by border

security ice Border Patrol local police and the military the military has been incredible

and we're stopping them to process you wouldn't believe how tough

but we're stopping them in record numbers at this moment there is a debate over funding

border security in the wall also called so that I give them a little

bit of an out steel slats we don't use the word wall necessarily but it has to

be something special to do the job steel slots I've made my position very clear any measure

that= funds the government must include border security has to not for political purposes

but for for a country for the safety of our community this is not

merely my campaign promise this is the promise every lawmaker met that is the solemn promise

to protect and defend the

United States of America and it is our sacred obligation we have no choice for decades Washington

abandoned this commitment and millions and millions of people to enter our

country illegally and over the objections of the American people

no one voiced or voted for a policy no one endorsed this policy and no one ratified this

policy it was a total

assault on our democracy itself illegal immigration costs our nation two hundred and seventy five

billion dollars a year you hear many different numbers you can

say billions and billions but the number that I hear most accurate is two hundred and seventy

five billion dollars a year at least millions of jobs and thousands of

innocent lives more than 90% of

heroine comes across our southern border heroin deaths have tripled since 2002 every week

this illegal heroine kills at least 300 Americans and costs our nation

over 230 million to 289 billion dollars for nearly 5 billion dollars a week I spoke with

President Xi of China and he has agreed to make fentanyl another one of

the big big problems and probably I

think it's just gone to number one kills 80,000 people a year in our country he's going to

make that a major crime in China and if you get caught you pay a major penalty it's called

the death penalty and it wasn't listed as a crime until

I spoke to so I appreciate President Xi for doing that that's a

tremendous that's gonna have a tremendous impact every day 10 known or suspected terrorists

try to gain entry into our

country every day 2,000 illegal aliens try to cross our borders they try we get most

of them it's hard without a wall every year 50,000 illegal children are

smuggled by coyotes and criminals into our country in the last two years alone ice officers

arrested criminal aliens charged with or convicted of 100,000

assaults 30,000 sex crimes and 4,000 murders it's rough stuff yet the

Democrats continued to oppose border security no matter how many innocent people get hurt

or die ridiculously and dangerously certain people want open

borders which allow potentially massive crime our nation has spent trillions of dollars

and sacrificed thousands of brave young lives defending the borders

of foreign nations I am asking Congress to defend the border of our nation for tiny fraction

tiny fraction of the cost essential to border security is a

powerful physical barrier walls work whether we like it or not they work better than anything

in Israel 99.9 percent successful think of it I spoke to

Benjamin Netanyahu Prime Minister two

days ago we're talking about it he said it's 99.9 imeem he came up I didn't ask I said

99.9 percent successful we have proposed a steel slat barrier to halt the

deadly flow of these illegal traffickers smugglers and terrorists

every day that we deprive our Border Patrol and ice officers the resources

they need we put many innocent lives in harm's way it should be bipartisan I\ think it will

end up being bipartisan I really do illegal immigration also strains public services

that Americans depend on and illegal immigration drives down wages for the neediest Americans

no one who calls themselves a progressive should support illegal immigration open borders

hurts poor Americans more than anyone else

in our society in life there are certain principles worth fighting for principles that are more

important than politics party or personal convenience the safety and

security and sovereignty of the United States is the most important principle of all if

we don't stand strong for our national borders then we cease

to be a nation and we betray our

commitment to the loyal citizens of our great country I look forward to signing a bill that

fulfills our fundamental duty to the American people it is all about and I say this in any

way they want to hear it it's all about America first

we have to put our country first we have to put our people first and we have to put safety

first so thank you

all very much and we'll be working on that Mitch and Paul and Kevin and everybody and

we'll see what we can do but hopefully that all come together it

some additional perspective now in all these major stories from House Majority Leader Kevin

McCarthy Republican from California mr. leader thanks for joining

us first of all give us just an update

of how you think this gets solved from your point of view well first of all Brett think

about it you've already had 75% of the government funding we're

debating that last 25% this is about national security about border security so the Senate

sent over to us what is a continuing resolution that funds the government

as is with no border security

in there even though we've already been funding and building the wall it also had nothing

in there when it came to disasters remember the Hurricanes in North

Carolina in Florida in Georgia are the devastating fires in California so

what we will do and remember there are two separate bodies here it happens on

every bill we will take a continuing resolution we will add five billion dollars in that for

border security we'll also add the in there for disaster relief for those states

of devastation because they can't wait a lot of those individuals can't go

in plant can't rebuild entire cities are burnt in California and we'll send that over to

the Senate they can take action which we don't have a problem until Friday

tomorrow late I think there's some differences and we can find common

ground it's the way our government is designed to find common ground and come

to a solution right but you do you think you have the votes because you think you have

the votes in the house we will have the votes in the house we will pass it tonight

and we will send it to the Senate now the question is about the

Senate mr. leader yes because you have Chuck Schumer saying we're not doing it you have

senators over in the Senate who lost or they were stepping aside and they

may decide they're not gonna do this so where's your your optimism if you have any about getting

it past the Senate to avoid a partial shutdown well first

of all if I listen to Chuck

Schumer just a week ago he said he would fund the wall at 1.6 1.8 billion dollars is he

now saying he would not do that if I look at his what he voted on just a

few years back 2013 he funded and voted for a wall in that process as well so it's Chuck

Schumer changing his position

from the past and this is the real challenge here the American people have to understand

yes Republicans are in the majority we will pass it in the house

but the rules say you have to have 60 votes in the Senate so it really comes down to this

Chuck Schumer want to shut the government down

Trump defends toughness on ISIS after Fox & Friends host claims he 're-founded' the terror army - Duration: 6:04.

President Donald Trump defended his toughness against ISIS after 'Fox & Friends' host accused him of having 're-founded' the terror group with his sudden decision to pull troops out of Syria

'I've done more damage to ISIS than all recent presidents.not even close!' Trump wrote on Twitter Friday morning, just hours after the segment aired, throwing his press secretary onto the defensive on what is typically friendly terrain

Trump's pushback came after host Brian Kilmeade brough back Trump's own words – including his past claims that President Obama 'founded ISIS

'Both presidents have ordered airstrikes and kept troops in the field to combat the terror group in a multi-year campaign that pushed back it's self-proclaimed caliphate and seized what had effectively been its former capital

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders taunted ISIS not to 'pick a fight' with President Donald Trump Friday – after getting tough questions from Fox News host Brian Kilmeade slamming the president's sudden Syria pull-out

Kilmeade skewered Sanders Friday following Pentagon chief James Mattis' stunning resignation, saying Trump had 're-founded ISIS' by bucking Mattis and other military brass and announcing a troop withdrawal

Sanders appeared on the program Friday amid reverberations from Mattis' harsh resignation letter, which defended U

S.alliances and split with Trump following his sudden announcement of a pullout of U

S.troops from Syria.Kilmeade could be seen shifting in his chair in what started out as a softball interview with Sanders, who was out to defend the embattled Trump Whitehouse amid a looming government shutdown

'Sarah, he is giving Russia a big win.Vladimir Putin praised him.He also is doing exactly what he criticized president Obama for doing,' Kilmeade pounced on the president's favorite morning program

Referring to Trump, Kilmead said: 'He said president Obama is the founder of ISIS

He just re-founded ISIS because they got 30,000 men there and they are already striking back with our would-be evacuation,' Kilmeade continued

'The president is really on the griddle with this,' he added.'Brian, I have to respectfully and vehemently disagree with you,' Sanders pushed back

'The idea that the president has had anything to do with helping ISIS reemerge is absolutely outrageous,' she countered

Then Kilmeade, who wrote a book on Andrew Jackson and the battle of New Orleans, interjected: 'Leaving is helping

Leaving is helping,' echoing concerns inside the pentagon that the removal of 2,000 U

S.forces could provide relief to ISIS, while leaving Russia and Iran in power positions

Sanders responded that Trump 'has put so much emphasis on rebuilding the strongest military on the face of the planet

If ISIS wants to pick a fight with somebody, they sure as heck don't want to pick one with Donald Trump

Because  he will destroy them and defeat them,' she said.'And he's has made that extremely clear

We have wiped out 99% of ISIS in Syria. The president doesn't want to be in the middle of a civil war in the Middle East and continue to put American lives on the line

' Kilmeade interjected again,' saying 'The word on the ground is different from what you just said,' in a reference to the 30,000 ISIS fighters the Pentagon estimates remain in Iraq and Syria

'If we need to fight ISIS again the president is not afraid to do that,' Sanders countered

Co-host Ainsley Earhardt quickly cut off the interview.'All right, Sarah.Thank you so much

Trump threatens government shutdown will last for a very long time if Democrats oppose House bill th - Duration: 5:09.

Trump threatens government shutdown will last for a very long time if Democrats oppose House bill th

President Trump on Friday threatened that a partial government shutdown would last for a very long time if Congress does not meet his demand Friday for billions in funding for his long promised border wall in a stopgap spending measure.

In a spate of morning tweets, Trump sought to pin blame on Democrats for a potential shutdown even though he said last week that he would proudly own one if lawmakers did not provide at least dollar 5 billion toward his marquee campaign promise.

And he suggested that Senate rules should be changed if necessary so that Republicans could pass the bill without any Democratic support.

The Democrats, whose votes we need in the Senate, will probably vote against Border Security and the Wall even though they know it is DESPERATELY NEEDED, Trump wrote. If the Dems vote no, there will be a shutdown that will last for a very long time. People dont want Open Borders and Crime!

The Democrats, whose votes we need in the Senate, will probably vote against Border Security and the Wall even though they know it is DESPERATELY NEEDED. If the Dems vote no, there will be a shutdown that will last for a very long time. People dont want Open Borders and Crime!

Trumps warning came ahead of a midnight deadline for the president and Congress to come to terms on a spending bill to avert a partial government shutdown that would affect funding for roughly 25 percent of the federal agencies whose budgets rely on Congress.

After Trump threatened Thursday to veto a Senate measure that did not contain the border funding he sought, the House hurried to appease the president, pulling together a bill that would keep the government funded through Feb. 8 while also allocating dollar 5.7 billion for the border wall. The House bill also included nearly dollar 8 billion for disaster relief for hurricanes and wildfires.

Democrats, however, have enough votes in the Senate to keep that bill from advancing and have showed no signs of relenting.

The bottom line is simple: the Trump temper tantrum will shut down the government, but it will not get him his wall, Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer D N.Y. told reporters Thursday night.

In a contentious Oval Office meeting last week with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi D Calif. and Schumer D N.Y. , Trump said he would be proud to shut down the government for border security.

So I will take the mantle, he said. I will be the one to shut it down. I wont blame you for it.

Senator Mitch McConnell should fight for the Wall and Border Security as hard as he fought for anything. He will need Democrat votes, but as shown in the House, good things happen. If enough Dems dont vote, it will be a Democrat Shutdown! House Republicans were great yesterday!

In other tweets Friday, Trump urged Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell R Ky. to fight hard to pass a bill with he border wall funding he is seeking.

Senator Mitch McConnell should fight for the Wall and Border Security as hard as he fought for anything, Trump wrote. He will need Democrat votes, but as shown in the House, good things happen. If enough Dems dont vote, it will be a Democrat Shutdown! House Republicans were great yesterday!

Trump also urged McConnell to use the Nuclear Option and get it done!

That is a reference a Senate rule that requires 60 votes to advance most legislation. Trump was advocating that McConnell change the rule so that only 50 votes are required. By doing that, Republicans would be able to pass a bill without Democratic cooperation in a chamber in which Republicans hold 51 seats.

For more than a year, Trump has tried to pressure McConnell to change Senate rules in a way that would allow the chamber to pass legislation with a simple majority.

During the Obama administration, when the Senate was controlled by Democrats, Democrats changed the rules to allow most presidential nominees to advance with a simple majority of votes. During the beginning of the Trump administration, McConnell extended this practice to the nomination of Supreme Court justices, which proved crucial because both of Trumps nominees to the nations highest court won approval by a narrow margin.

But McConnell has resisted such a change for legislation, as have a number of other Republicans, worried about the precedent it would set.

Last year, more than 60 senators from both parties signed a letter to McConnell and Schumer, saying they were opposed to changing the rules in the way Trump has demanded. The letter was signed, among others by Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Roy Blunt of Missouri, and John Thune of South Dakota.

Mitch, use the Nuclear Option and get it done! Our Country is counting on you!

In his tweets, Trump also sought to counter Democratic arguments that a border wall is an antiquated strategy for curbing illegal border crossings.

The Democrats are trying to belittle the concept of a Wall, calling it old fashioned, Trump wrote. The fact is there is nothing elses that will work, and that has been true for thousands of years. Its like the wheel, there is nothing better.

Properly designed and built Walls work, and the Democrats are lying when they say they dont, the president added.

The Democrats are trying to belittle the concept of a Wall, calling it old fashioned. The fact is there is nothing elses that will work, and that has been true for thousands of years. Its like the wheel, there is nothing better. I know tech better than anyone, technology.....

Trumps attacks on Twitter came as a number of federal agencies were in the final stages of implementing their shutdown plans.

A number of federal parks and monuments are slated to close, some as soon as Saturday morning. The Securities and Exchange Commission posted a list of the services it will soon suspend, including the processing of certain business records. The Justice Department, Commerce Department and Internal Revenue Service are preparing to send thousands of people home without pay.

And Trumps prediction that a shutdown would last for a very long time means that more than 100,000 federal employees risk missing at least one paycheck, and possibly more. Even the Border Patrol agents and Transportation Security Agency officials who are directed to continue working during the shutdown will not be paid until Congress funds their agencies.

About 480,000 federal workers would be furloughed, according to a Washington Post projection.

Right After Supreme Court Delivers Massive Ruling On Trump's Wall! WH ANNOUNCED THIS(VIDEO)!!! - Duration: 11:43.

Right After Supreme Court Delivers Massive Ruling On Trump's Wall! WH ANNOUNCED THIS

House press secretary Sarah Sanders Sarah thank you for your

time this morning good morning he there nice to be with

you too is the White House communicated to the Senate what you're willing to

accept in terms of in terms of a dollar amount for a continuing resolution what

would that number be we have we've been a continuous and we'll continue to have

these conversations with both Senate and House Republicans and Democrats our team

has been in constant communication we're continuing to do that I'm not going to

negotiate here but we've been talking to them even as late as this just as

recently as this morning those conversations president has been clear

bill about what the parameters are that he wants to see in the legislation and

we hope Democrats will not play games and support legislation frankly that

they've supported in the past that we want to see how I apologize for

interruptions just trying to nail this down that the president wants five

billion would he take two and a half billion would that be an acceptable

number we would take we have other ways that we can get to that five billion

that we will work with Congress if they will make sure that we get a bill passed

that provides not just the funding for the wall but there's a piece of

legislation that's been pushed around that Democrats actually voted 26 to 5

out of committee that provides 26 roughly twenty six billion dollars in

border security including 1.6 billion dollars for the wall that's something

that we would be able to support as long as we can couple that with other funding

resources so that is a partial yes but it sounds like the answer or the

solution rather is more creative than we are led to believe accurate look we've

been very clear with members of both Republicans and Democrats the House and

the Senate on what we want to see and we want them to work with us at the end of

the day we don't want to shut down the government we want to shut down the

border from illegal immigration from drugs coming into this country and make

sure we know who's coming and why they're coming and that's what the

president is focused on and he's not gonna back down until he gets what he

needs to May sure the people of this country are

protector what as far as the communication with the Senate and we

just played sound of multiple senators who say if there's a plan we don't know

about what is the communication there what can you say publicly about this the

state of negotiations again we've been in constant contact our team was on the

phone with Senate teams this morning both from the comms perspective as well

as the policy teams and I think they know very clearly what we want to see

and we hope that they you get not just that done but also let's get criminal

justice reform done and then let's get the government funded and let everybody

have a very good Christmas and go home with UNICEF in a legal sense that you

could use defense money for border security there's certainly a number of

different funding sources that we've identified that we can use that we can

couple with the money that would be given to through congressional

appropriations that would help us get to that five billion that the president

needs in order to protect our so you're exploring this and you think legally you

could do it absolutely have other ways that we can get to that five billion at

the end of the day we don't want to shut down the government we want to shut down

the border from illegal immigration from drugs coming into this country and make

sure we know who's coming and why they're coming Sarah Sanders earlier

hinting at a compromise as Friday's looming government shutdown deadline is

drawing near their position characterized as extremely flexible

today by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell but the impasse over border

funding on Capitol Hill is raging on tonight with Democrats saying no thanks

to the GOP s latest offer here now on that Democratic Senator Chris Coons of

Delaware he serves on both the judiciary and Foreign Relations Committee senator

thank you for being here good to have you here tonight so what what is what's

the parameters of the deal that you don't like and why don't you like it

well Martha I'm so encouraged to hear that we're actually beginning to make

progress here in recent days the only person who has said publicly they were

cheering for his shutdown was President Trump who is insisting on five billion

dollars this year in additional wall investments

he was threatening to shut down the government over the holidays now we're

beginning detailed negotiations about what more might be needed in order to

get a border security investment that the president would accept and that

would allow us to complete our appropriations work for this year on a

bipartisan basis we've made more progress and gotten farther in our

annual appropriations process this year than any of the eight years I've been

here that's something I know Majority Leader McConnell and Minority Leader

Schumer have wanted us to complete that work this year I have a problem go ahead

where I have a problem is with the proposal for an undefined billion dollar

slush fund that the president could spend anyway he chose on internal

enforcement on hiring more agents on building border wall I think you just

ran a clip from Senator Collins of Maine talking about a ten year plan

costing in total twenty five billion that would be managed by the Department

of Homeland Security over a decade that was part of a broad bold bill on

immigration that I voted for and co-sponsored earlier this year but it

accomplished some other big things in immigration reform so you think the bill

that Collins proposed and you know I'm gonna play it because we were you were

listening to it in the break with me so let's play so everyone else can hear it

great thank you I've urged the administration and some of my colleagues

to take a look at a plan that we put together earlier this year that would

give the president the full 25 billion that he wants for border security that

goes beyond just the physical barriers like the wall and divide that up in 2.5

billion dollars a year which is what I believe the Department of Homeland

Security can efficiently spend and wisely spend all right so that's 25

billion over a period of time over ten years ten years

46 of the 49 Democratic senators were in favor of it we also remember another

moment in time when Democrats were in favor of 25 billion dollars to spend on

border security so why is five such a big hurdle a and B can the the plan

described by Susan Collins well the only reason the plan described

by Susan Collins the bill that I worked with her on and co-sponsored didn't pass

was because of active lobbying against that bill by President Trump and a

number of conservative Republican senators that got 52 votes on the floor

of the Senate and excuse me got 54 votes on the floor

of the Senate earlier this year it also had a pathway to citizenship for

dreamers so it was a broad bill that had detailed plans not just for a single

concrete wall across the whole border but for investments in monitoring

security in double fencing it always sounds to me you know when you really

break down what the president says he talks about using technology he talks

about it sounds like you're all talking about the same thing

Democrats say we want border security and the president says he wants a secure

border so both sides want it so that people aren't climbing over the fences

and you know putting small children under the walls so that there's entry

points so why can't you all just get together and work this out

that's a great question Martha I'll tell you the only person who was saying I

have to have five billion dollars or I'm going to shut down the government this

week was president he's not saying that now hopefully that's it now but much to

the dismay of at this point at this point having moved past that we can

reach an accommodation that has a defined plan for what it is the money

will be invested in that will actually contribute to border security to the

extent we're talking about a single concrete wall that doesn't have support

broadly enough to get through the Senate and I think what it's made of this is

another thing I don't understand people say oh well the money that was spent it

wasn't spent on a wall it was spent on shoring up a very strong fence looks

like a wall I was there it looked like a wall so what difference does it make

what the word is what you call it now what matters is whether the money's

being spent wisely and efficiently or not it whatever if it doesn't and one of

the things I commend senator Collins for really focusing on in our immigration

policy working group earlier this year which had two dozen senators

participating at different points was getting the Department of Homeland

Security to come in and describe to us what they can efficiently spend per year

what kinds of technologies they want to

deliver and then had accountability back to the Senate for reporting what they

spent it on and what the outcome was what is the latest proposal on the table

today was another billion dollars in addition to the 1.6 billion that's in

the bill now that would just be money that the president could spend as he

wished some oversight and some accountability is appropriate here so

the money that's spent on illegal immigration goes way over what is being

proposed for a border wall does that bother you

I mean the concern about the money being spent just just seems kind of you know

it seems willy-nilly it seems like if you don't like an idea then you don't

wanna spend the money but everybody centers who has worked tirelessly with

Republican colleagues to come up with a bipartisan solution to our broken

immigration system that includes making progress on resolving the status of

folks who are here through things like the dreamer program and investing in

border security I do think we can get this done in a bipartisan way let me

take one moment before we end and give some hope to your viewers the first vote

has just been called a few minutes ago in a comprehensive criminal justice

reform bill this is a bill that has the sponsorship or the support of the

Fraternal Order of Police of the National Association of Evangelicals of

Catholic Charities the US Chamber of Commerce heritage

action and the ACLU you've got Republicans and Democrats in the Senate

and the house supporting this bill I expect it will pass later tonight after

six votes and president Trump has said he will sign it Jared Kushner the

president's son-in-law was a keen perky force in getting this bill to this point

I think this will make a real difference in making our criminal justice system at

the federal level focus more on reducing sentences making sure that folks who

belong in jail are in jail and those who can be improved in terms of their

behavior and who can return to society safely it gives an opportunity for a

relief valve for folks who are currently serving overly long sentences for minor

nonviolent drug related crimes I think this is a big step forward and I just

hope that while we're arguing over spending and over budget

excuse me over border security I just wanted your viewers to know there is

also significant progress made tonight on a bipartisan bill that

has been years in the making and has broad support thank you we're watching

it we had a live picture up of that vote as it's going on and we're gonna

continue to have live coverage of it throughout the evening we're also gonna

get ben shapiro to weigh in on that bill as well in a little while senator Coons

always good to talk to you sir thank you for being here Thank You Martha

thank you god bless you and God bless america

Mick Mulvaney Will Let Trump Be Trump - Duration: 4:54.

WELCOME TO "THE LATE SHOW."

OF THE I'M YOUR HOST, STEPHEN COLBERT.

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) I FEEL THE SAME WAY.

I FEEL THE SAME WAY.

I'M IN A GOOD MOOD.

HAPPY FRIDAY AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYBODY.

THE PRESIDENT-- ( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE )

WOOO!

COMING TO THE END OF THE YEAR, AND WE HAVE EARNED IT.

THE PRESIDENT REPORTEDLY "WILL SPEND 16 DAYS AT MAR-A-LAGO

DURING THE HOLIDAYS."

THIS IS FUN.

COINCIDENTALLY, RICHARD NIXON WENT TO MAR-A-LAGO A MONTH

BEFORE HE RESIGNED THE PRESIDENCY.

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) OH, PLEASE.

OH, HISTORY, OH, HISTORY, PLEASE REPEAT YOURSELF.

WE DID OUR PART BY NOT LEARNING FROM YOU.

( LAUGHTER ) NOW, WHEN TRUMP GETS BACK, HE'LL

HAVE A NEW CHIEF OF STAFF: BUDGET DIRECTOR AND CHEF FROM

THE PIZZA BOX, MICK MULVANEY.

MULVANEY'S PREDECESSOR, GENERAL JOHN KELLY, TRIED TO REIN IN

TRUMP, BUT ACCORDING TO POLITICO, MULVANEY DOESN'T PLAN

TO TRY.

"I AM HONORED TO BE THE NEW ZOOKEEPER.

AS MY FIRST OFFICIAL ACT, UNLOCK ALL THE CAGES!

LET'S GET THE LIONS HIGH AND RUB STEAK SAUCE ON THE PENGUINS."

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) SOURCES -- SOURCES -- I COULD GO

FOR SOME PENGUIN.

SOURCES CLOSE TO MULVANEY SAY HE INTENDS TO GIVE TRUMP MORE

LEEWAY TO ACT AS HE CHOOSES-- A RECOGNITION THAT TRYING TO

CONTROL TRUMP IS A FUTILE APPROACH.

SO, I'D LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT WHAT WE'VE SEEN IN THE LAST YEAR

AND HALF IS TRUMP BEING CONTROLLED.

( LAUGHTER ) WHAT'S HE GOING TO BE LIKE NOW?

(AS TRUMP) : "I WAS WRONG.

THERE ARE NOT FINE PEOPLE ON BOTH SIDES.

WHITE POWER!

I'M GOING TO TWEET OUT THE NUCLEAR LAUNCH CODES!

I LOVE PUTIN!

I'LL COLLUDE WITH ANYTHING THAT MOVES!

LET THE PEE PEE RAIN!" ( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE )

ONE OF THE KEY HEADACHES FOR KELLY WAS HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH

JARED AND IVANKA-- OR AS THEY'RE KNOWN BY THEIR CELEBRITY COUPLE

NAME, THE ACTUAL CHIEF OF STAFF.

( LAUGHTER ) KELLY REPORTEDLY DERIDED THEM AS

TWO NEW YORKERS "PLAYING GOVERNMENT."

(AS IVANKA) : "OKAY, JARED, I'L BE THE FIRST DAUGHTER, WHO'S

ALSO A FASHION MODEL AND SECRETARY OF STATE.

YOU GET TO COVER UP THE MURDER OF A SAUDI JOURNALIST.

GO!

ERIC, YOU CAN BE A TREE STUMP."

( LAUGHTER ) BUT SOURCES SAY THAT MULVANEY IS

NOT GOING TO GET IN JARED AND IVANKA'S WAY.

A FORMER ADMINISTRATION OFFICIAL SCOFFED AT THAT PLAN, SAYING,

"EVERYONE GETS ALONG WITH THE KIDS IN THE BEGINNING."

( LAUGHTER ) WOW, THAT SOUNDS OMINOUS.

"WHY, YOU MUST BE THE NEW NANNY.

YOU LIKE THE CHILDREN?

OH, EVERYONE LIKES THE CHILDREN, UNTIL SUNDOWN.

( LAUGHTER ) I HOPE YOU HAVE A STRONG DOOR.

( MANIACAL LAUGHTER ) THEY'RE WATCHING US RIGHT NOW."

( LAUGHTER ) AND WITH THE HOLIDAY SEASON

COMING UPON US, A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE TRAVELING.

AND THERE'S SOME GOOD NEWS FOR FOLKS WHO PLAN ON FLYING,

BECAUSE THE T.S.A. HAS SAID IT WILL DIAL BACK ITS CONTROVERSIAL

PASSENGER-MONITORING PROGRAM CALLED "QUIET SKIES"-- WHICH IS

ALSO WHAT I CALL IT WHEN I CRUSH TWO AMBIEN INTO THAT TINY

WHISKEY BOTTLE.

( LAUGHTER ) YOU MAY NEVER HAVE HEARD OF

QUIET SKIES, BECAUSE THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM WAS TO MONITOR

AMERICAN TRAVELERS WHO WERE NOT ON ANY TERROR WATCH LISTS OR

SUSPECTED OF TERRORISM OR CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR.

THAT'S ENTRAPMENT.

NO ONE IS AT THEIR BEST AT THE AIRPORT.

I ONCE SAW AN INFANT EAT A ENTIRE CINNABON.

I SAW A GUY CARRYING AN IGUANA IN A FANNY PACK.

I ONCE SAW A GUY PAY $4.50 FOR MINTS, AND THAT GUY WAS ME!

(LAUGHTER) WHY DIDN'T THE AIR MARSHALS

SHOOT ME?

THIS PROGRAM USED ARMED, UNDERCOVER AIR MARSHALS TO

MONITOR WHETHER TRAVELERS USED A PHONE, WENT TO THE BATHROOM,

CHATTED WITH OTHERS, OR CHANGED CLOTHES.

BUT AFTER COMPLAINTS, THE T.S.A.

HAS AGREED TO SCALE THE PROGRAM BACK... SORT OF.

MARSHALS WILL STILL MONITOR PEOPLE THEY CONSIDER PERSONS OF

INTEREST, BUT THEY ARE CHANGING THE THRESHOLD FOR REPORTING

THEIR OBSERVATIONS TO INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES.

SO, MARSHALS WILL STILL WATCH WHAT YOU DO, BUT WON'T

NECESSARILY REPORT IT, WHICH MEANS NOW THERE ARE JUST ARMED

MEN STATIONED AROUND THE AIRPORT WRITING DOWN WHEN YOU PEE.

( LAUGHTER ) "UH, YOU GOING TO REPORT THAT TO

SOMEBODY?" NO.

NA, THIS IS JUST FOR ME."

Trump's Vacation, Whale Cliques - Monologue - Duration: 3:30.

-Let's get to the news.

President Trump said today that he will not sign

a short-term spending bill if it doesn't include $5 billion

to fund his border wall.

Hey, just tell him it's in there.

[ Laughter ]

I mean, it's not like he's actually gonna read it.

He's only ever really looked at something

before signing it once.

[ Laughter ]

President Trump tweeted today,

"The Democrats who know steel slats wall are necessary

for border security are putting politics over country."

Okay, first it was gonna be a 30-foot concrete wall.

Now we're down to steel slats.

Before you know it, he's gonna tweet,

"We must have the rocks and tumbleweeds

for border security."

[ Laughter ]

Well, you guys tonight is our last show.

Of the year! Of the year!

Wally, you got to be faster with those cards.

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

Just sign an executive order for all I know.

[ Laughter ]

President Trump will travel tomorrow

to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida

to begin his 16-day vacation,

where he will spend the holiday season

in the company of loved one.

[ Laughter ]

"You had a great year. You had a great year."

That's right.

Trump will travel to his Mar-a-Lago resort tomorrow,

or as it's more commonly known, the winter Kremlin.

[ Laughter ]

"The New York Times" has published a profile on

Duke freshman and NBA prospect Zion Williamson,

who has the school's highest measured vertical leap

of 45 inches,

while the lowest measured vertical leap is still held by

New Jersey governor Phil Murphy.

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

That wasn't really a joke about basketball again.

[ Laughter ]

President Trump used the wrong form of the word "there"

this morning when tweeting about his recent decision

to pull U.S. troops out of Syria,

which means it's definitely possible he meant to

pull our troops out of Serbia.

[ Laughter ]

Three NASA astronauts returned to Earth today

after more than six months

aboard the International Space Station.

Said the astronauts, "He's still in office?"

[ Laughter ]

Pope Francis said this week that Christmas is not about presents

and is about listening to the silent voice of God.

Said his secret Santa, "What the hell, man? I got you an iPad!"

[ Laughter ]

Researchers are comparing short-finned pilot whales

living off the coast of Hawaii to high school cliques,

after a study showed the whales

purposely chose not to associate with certain other whales.

But don't worry, whales.

If you're not part of the cool clique,

just work really hard, get hired for "SNL,"

work there a long time,

then host your own late-night show,

then go back to your high school reunion

and see who's laughing now, Chad!

[ Cheers and applause ]

[ Laughter ]

I went to an all-whale high school.

GET PREPARED FOR THIS! YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT Trump's About TO MAKE A DECISION(VIDEO)!!! - Duration: 17:41.

GET PREPARED FOR THIS! YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT Trump's About TO MAKE A DECISION

thank you very much appreciate everybody being here we've had a very busy two or

three days it's been very positive things are happening that haven't

happened in our government for a long time the other night as you know we had

a vote on border security and I did we want to discuss this just for a second

but the House of Representatives voted 217 to 185 approving strong border

security and the money necessary to take care of the barrier wall or steel slabs

whatever you want to call it it's all the same and it was a tremendous evening

for the Republicans to be honest with you

the level of spirit the level of happiness a lot of people came out they

said they have never seen one minute particularly it's been there for over 20

years he said I've never seen spirit or enthusiasm like this they came from all

parts of the country a couple of them came from other parts outside so I say

all parts of the world in order to vote and they voted and it was an incredible

vote and we were told that you would never get the house to vote we were able

to get the house to vote it wasn't that we did it they did it they were

incredible so I want to thank in this case House Republicans because what they

did was rather incredible do and now the Senate is looking at it we just had a

meeting with some of our great Senator Republicans and lasted for a long time

tremendous enthusiasm for border security and I think I can speak for

them very strongly when I say they want to see something happen on border

security they want the security of safety they want safety for our country

drugs are pouring in and we've done an incredible job considering we have no

barrier when drugs are pouring into our country human trafficking is at the

all-time worst in history because of the internet and the human trafficking

problem is a problem that has gone on through the ages but it's never been

worse because of the internet all over the world this isn't the United States

this is all over the world so we need border security and the Republicans in

the Senate as you know are taking it up today and it's really up to the

Democrats totally up to the Democrats as to whether or not we have a shutdown

it's possible that we'll have a shutdown I would say the chances are probably

very good because I don't think Democrats care so much about maybe this

issue but this is a very big issue it's an issue with pride it's an issue of

safety it's an issue of at least importantly dollars spend two

hundred eighty five billion dollars a year on illegal immigration we have to

finally do it the wall will pay for itself on a monthly basis I mean

literally every month a pays for itself so we're talking about small amounts of

money think of it we approved and we got food democrat support military last year

700 billion dollars recently seven hundred and sixteen billion dollars for

the military and he were talking about five million dollars so it's a tiny

fraction but unfortunately they've devoted their lives to making sure it

doesn't happen and that wasn't for what should happen that was for political

reasons so we are going to be working very hard to get something passed in the

Senate there's a very good chance it won't get passed it's up to the

Democrats so it's really the Democrats shutdown because we've done our thing

and when Nancy Pelosi said you'll never get the votes in the house we got them

and we got to by a big margin 217 to 185 so now it's up to the Democrats as to

whether or not we have a shutdown tonight I hope we don't but we're

totally prepared for a very long shutdown and this is our only chance

that we'll ever have in our opinion because of the world and the way it

breaks out to get the great water security Ronald Reagan tried many years

ago got a note from a member of his family

many years ago tried to get a wall and he fought for a long time during his

entire term he was never able to get a wall and I consider him to be a great

president he knew what he was doing we are going to one way the other we're

going to get a wall we're gonna get a barrier we're gonna get any

you can name it anything you want but we cannot let what's been going on in this

country over the last ten years we just can't let it happen now to a very

positive note criminal justice reform everybody said it couldn't be done

they said the Conservatives wanna pro but they said the Liberals won't approve

it they said nobody's going to approve it

everybody's gonna be against it it's been many many years numerous decades

and nobody came close the Senate scrambling as the clock ticks to avoid a

partial government shutdown at midnight to night a live look at the Senate floor

where Republicans are attempting to move forward on a procedural vote but it's

unclear if they have the numbers to go forward over at the White House the

president trying to place the potential blame at Democrats feet it's really up

to the Democrats totally up to the Democrats as to whether or not we have a

shutdown I hope we don't but we're totally prepared for a very long

shutdown and this is our only chance that we'll ever have in our opinion

because of the world and the way it breaks out to get great border security

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer saying Trump would be at fault and

Democrats will not be budgeting on any extra funding for the border wall

President Trump you will not get your wall abandon your shutdown strategy

you're not getting the wall today next week or on January 3rd when Democrats

take control of the house Jessie everybody is kind of figure out

what's the endgame here how does the president play out the strategy what do

you think I don't see the endgame wand I really don't I mean if he has a bill

that gets to his desk and it doesn't have wall funding he vetoes it or he

signs it and he says I tried but if he vetoes it it just goes back and then

everything gets shut down and then maybe it shut down for a week at most and then

the Democrats come in and take over and they never send him anything with

any wall funding and you're back to square one so I don't see the endgame I

guess maybe he's just trying to signal to the people that he's gonna fight but

he has to find more creative ways in the budget build this wall the wall has to

be built and that's his signature promise and he wasted the first time

with it and McConnell didn't deliver the first opportunity and it's a shame but

if they get rid of the filibuster which they won't you could get a wall you get

a lot of stuff the other side would get stuff this side would get stuff but the

way that the system is designed in the Senate 60 votes for these spending bills

you're never gonna get what you want and you're just gonna use the shutdown as

leverage time and time again and then we have to talk about how boring it is

let's not talk about it's boring because in fact it's a hot issue in public

opinion Quinnipiac has a poll out 54:43 no need for a while 62% of Americans

opposed to a shutdown but among Republicans 59 to 33 say yes to the wall

right but also have it imagine that 60% of Democrats say well it's more than I

mean it's like it's the same so this it's quite partisan I thought that the

language that Ted Cruz used earlier today was interesting I think you'll

hear more that coming from Republicans that the Democrats are extreme and

they're partisan and that the president is the one who is middle-of-the-road on

this and commonsensical some of them pointing back to February

though remember when the President had the cameras in and it was in the Cabinet

Room it was that most amazing meeting that anyone ever seen that deal at the

time would have given like 25 billion dollars plus it had the daka fix so it's

like you keep going back like gosh maybe that was the deal that they should have

had and taken back then but the Democrats are so dug in on saying no

that I just read that brian schatz the senator from Hawaii he had left its 11

hour flight to Hawaii he flew back 11 hours just to vote no so everyone is

quite Duggan you know Greg I know that your position is you know things happen

right yeah but my position

my new show things happen but it's not making it's a lot making a lot of people

and conservative talk radio the Ann Coulter's the Rush Limbaugh's right

they're like what are you doing you can't allow the Democrats to rape

what would Greg Gutfeld advise President Trump to do oh that's a great question

I would say that he's watching I no no you know what

okay here's when I looked when I listen to this I find this to be very foolish

it reminds me and I hate to use this the yani or Laurel thing remember that yeah

so it was blue trumpets managed to get Democrats to agree that having a strong

border is important because when everything getting the conversation all

the Democrats including you want have said it I want a strong border everybody

say that so he gets everybody said then he goes okay wall they go whoo-hoo-hoo

not a wall so it's actually they actually both sides agree but the

Democrats are hung up on language they are hung up on language because it's the

word it's the word wall so might I quote somebody hmm Scott

yes Scott Adams why not adjust the length adjust the language if it's a

wall or if it's a fence who cares call it a wince right that's a that's a Scott

at its president Trump wants gonna call it steals lat well oh this is amazing to

me steel slats sounds fantastic to me that sounds like something pretty cool

you can move it around but you know Democrats will say that this is the

wrong way to cut immigration right because most of the illegal immigration

is overstayed visas right that's like saying I don't like a fork because it

won't cut my meat well you have a knife for that so you have a fork and a knife

so you can have a wall strong border and then you could then you could address

that other stuff so the arguments are either emotional flawed or pigheaded

when it really everybody wants the same thing but they won't give in so Jedidiah

if we do have a shutdown at midnight you're going to see I think it's 800,000

federal workers you know 47 of them percent of them will not even come to

work the rest come to work they won't be paid until the government reopens their

backpack right but then you have federal contractors out of work to the the

the State Department says they'll keep doing visas restrooms some of the state

federal parks are gonna be closed what do you think's gonna be the reaction

well I think from the right I mean people got very nervous when they

thought he wasn't gonna dig his heels in when he kind of wavered for a second and

they thought oh he said he wouldn't be afraid to shut the government down now

he is afraid I think he's already done what he needs to do regardless of how

this works out he's now gonna be the guy who was willing to go through with the

government shutdown to dig his heels in and say I'm willing to do that partial

government shutdown he's also proving that he's willing to

take on the language and say this is a Democrat shutdown he's taken on the

language when it comes to what a shutdown actually looks like that it's

not this you know Armageddon that the left always paints it as that so many

essential government functions still keep working I just think it's

interesting I watched Chuck Schumer and he says you're not gonna get your wall

as if the wall is for President Trump the wall is for the United States of

America it's for our national security it's to address the humanitarian crisis

at the border these are we're talking about resources for Border Patrol agents

you just had a little girl die crossing in horrific conditions so this idea that

he's not giving him the money to spite Trump you're nots fighting Trump you're

spying American citizens and your spy tting all of those poor people who are

being incentivized to come and cross this border under these horrific

conditions so I think Democrats should take a minute and really reflect on that

and I know it sounds good to oppose the wall but think about what you're

actually opposing which is addressing national security and the Amana terian

credit a new manatorian crisis that's happening at the border so alone I think

he's already done what do you got to do so Janet I you are so lucky it's like

Santa delivered for you because you got a Democrat at the table so I would say

to you hey Jedediah I think President Trump said Mexico is gonna pay for the

wall yeah well and you know I said no a million times he should have never been

on record saying that because it was highly unlikely that that was gonna

happen but the bottom line is that I mean you have people opening go fund me

accounts in this country to say you know what if the government's not gonna do it

we're gonna do it that shouldn't be the case the primary responsibility of the

government is to protect its citizens and that includes border security okay

so one final question on this for everybody so Jesse laid out a potential

endgame a way that the president could get out

which is to say look I really did my best I have tried with these Democrats I

even put went to the point I think Jared I have put picked up on this I'm saying

we're going to shut down in government so we'll rush limbaugh the Drudge Report

Breitbart well people like that say you know what mr. president you did your

best with those doggone Democrat yeah I mean

listen if he goes out and does weaken as much as you can and you look at Mitch

McConnell or you look at the House Republicans and you say you know what

they didn't deliver with the two years they had majorities but even then you

still need 60 votes you still need 60 votes you got a new

kid that's what you got to do you got a nuke option or nothing thanks Greg when

he starts hammering the table you know it is watching politicians debate over

the over the wall is like watching Dana and I try to get something down from a

high shelf because there is no expertise right and I think that was the mistake

at the beginning of this was not introducing expertise into this problem

and said it started with a price it's like if you are not if you were gonna go

renovate your house you don't say I'm gonna spend this now you're gonna figure

out what you want to renovate do I need do I need a table here do I need it cut

and then you come up with a budget this is I was gonna say ass-backwards can I

say that I think what we needed and is like engineering expertise somebody that

says okay this is what maybe you have a wall here maybe you don't have a wall

here and then you come up with it but instead we started from the reverse so

that might be a compromise well how about our public relations

expert in this Perino what would you suggest well I don't know how it's gonna

come down but I do think that there was something that the president and his

administration was able to do yesterday that got buried it didn't get enough

attention it was actually quite impressive very impressive secretary of

Department of Homeland Security Kirsten Nielsen announced that they have reached

this deal with Mexico Lathon dealer they basically said to Mexico they're going

to hook up basically house or hold the asylum seekers so you you are a migrant

you come across you get processed but then you wait in Mexico that's a really

big deal and the administration has done lots of different things that

are part of the whole cutlery set yes all right so there's a spoon a knife a

fork the dessert spoon everything that they've tried to do all of that smaller

knife there's a lot of things that they're doing outside of the wall that

could either give them some cover with their base but also to let the American

people know like they're not just waiting for five billion dollars for

steel slats wall they actually that's really impressive and she deserves some

credit for that she of course got buried because of all the other breaking sure

and also the Supreme Court had a ruling Jedidiah that said the administration

cannot put a cap on the number of people seeking asylum it was an interesting

vote because the Chief Justice John Robert wrote administer right that is

true as well and I would also say about the dollar value I think it's

interesting there's been a lot of debate about the five billion dollars people

need to remember he's not just pulling that number out of thin air I mean he's

talking to Border Patrol agents he's talking with people at the border and

they're telling him this is what we need this is what's insufficient so you know

Chuck Schumer doesn't get to aside what to decide what's appropriate amount of

money and and frankly neither does Donald Trump he he is working with the

people on the border so these numbers exist for a reason because he's getting

it from the people who are there trying to process people trying to get them in

buses in these remote areas to other locations trying to make sure that the

proper medical supplies are there and also trying to contain what's going on

so that number had there's a reason that that five billion dollars in terms of a

monetary value even exists by the way Gregg does he go to Maura

Largo if the government shuts there well I'll talk to him later actually I'm

gonna hitch a ride with them they serve drinks on the plane on the sleigh ride

thank you god bless you and God bless america

Behind Trump's Billions: How He Really Got His Real Estate - Duration: 12:25.

President Donald Trump: a very polarizing figure whose wealth lies at the heart of his

public persona.

For decades Trump has presented himself as a self-made billionaire who started out with

nothing more than a million-dollar loan from his father.

And yet, as it turns out Donald's father, Fred Trump, had a much bigger part to play

in his son's rise to prominence.

In this video, we're gonna look behind Trump's billions, to see how he really got his real

estate empire.

This video is brought to you by Cheddar, who just released an awesome video on how some

of the most expensive apartments in New York City pay less property tax than your average

home.

Find out how by watching their video.

The story of Donald's wealth starts almost a century ago with the rise of his father.

Fred Trump was a true hustler.

Having lost his father at the age of 12, Fred had to learn how to work and the industry

he got into was construction.

He had built his first residential house by the time he was 20 and he got into this business

at a very opportune moment.

You see, President Roosevelt had just signed the New Deal, which among other things wanted

to encourage residential construction, providing very cheap loans and subsidies that Fred was

very eager to take.

In fact, from the 1930s onwards America enacted housing subsidy after housing subsidy, starting

with the New Deal, then with military housing during World War 2 and finally with the post-war

housing boom enabled by the GI Bill.

As the American home ownership rate jumped by 20% in the span of just 3 decades, Fred

Trump amassed a fortune, largely enabled by the vast sums he received from the government.

In 1949 alone the FHA gave him a $26 million loan to build two apartment complexes in Brooklyn:

Shore Haven and Beach Haven.

What's interesting though is not that he got rich using government money, which is

actually pretty typical, but that he began a massive campaign of funneling money to his

children when he was just 40 years old.

The numerous methods he used were simple, but effective.

Before building those two apartment complexes in Brooklyn, Fred purchased the land they

would be built upon using his company.

He then created a trust whose beneficiaries were his children and he donated the land

to the trust.

Now because Fred's construction company was no longer the owner of the land he would

have to lease it from the trust through a contract known as a ground lease.

Under this contract, the trust would receive over $60,000 a year for the next 99 years,

creating a steady stream of income for Donald who at the time was only 3 years old.

But the ground leases were just the beginning because over the next twenty years, Fred would

start to transfer the buildings themselves to his children.

He'd buy a plot of land through an empty corporation, building apartments on it with

government money and the he would gift the company's shares directly to his children.

Now, this isn't a very complicated scheme: in fact it actually incurs a lot of gift tax,

which Fred doesn't seem to have paid.

If you go through his tax returns it shows that he paid gift tax on only one out of the

eight buildings he transferred this way.

He built it through a partnership for $2.5 million in 1968 and a year later he gifted

15% of the partnership to each one of his children.

If you do the math the gift tax should come close to $100k, but he only paid six and a

half.

Of course, it's worth noting that Fred Trump has been pursued by the State of New York

multiple times during the 50s and 60s for underpaying his taxes.

Despite these issues though, he had no problem obtaining millions of dollars in subsidies,

no doubt thanks to his political connections.

In fact it is during this period that Fred built his greatest project, the Trump Village,

for which he received $50 million from the State of New York and which he would also

pass down to Donald through questionable means, but that happens later.

After graduating from college in 1968, Donald of course went to work for his father and

this is when the wealth transfer really kicked into high gear.

In 1972 Donald and his father formed a partnership to secure an $8 million loan to build Prospect

Tower.

Interestingly enough, even though it was Fred who did all the work, most of the profits

went to Donald.

On top of his share from the partnership, he was receiving consultancy and management

fees, as well as everything tenants paid to rent air conditioners.

By 1975 Donald was getting over $300k per year just from that building and if you sum

up everything else, by the time he was 29 he had pocketed $9 million from his father.

Of course, Fred's goal wasn't just to enrich Donald, but to build up an image for

him to help start his career.

A 1976 profile of Donald put his net worth at $200 million, when in reality the projects

he was claiming as his own were really his father's.

At the time, Donald was the president of the Trump Organization, which carried with it

a hefty salary, but on top of that he was constantly receiving loans from Fred.

In 1979 Donald received loans for a total of $3 million from his father's companies

and the way these loans were structured is very interesting.

They did come with a certain amount of interest, but it was paid back as soon as the loan was

taken out and because the loan had no repayment plan Donald was free to keep the money indefinitely.

These loans and many more came flooding into Donald's wallet when he began his first

project in Manhattan, converting the Commodore Hotel into the Grand Hyatt between 1979 and

1980.

The exact same loans would appear a second time when Donald was building Trump Tower

between 1980 and 1983.

During this time Fred masterminded another scheme for his children.

Using multiple trusts, he'd buy off the mortgages of at least 14 of his properties

and he'd transfer them to the trusts, whose beneficiaries were, of course, Donald and

his siblings.

Effectively, during the 80s Donald became his father's banker, even though he never

actually provided mortgage loans, he just pocketed the interest payments.

By the end of the 1980s all the distribution methods had transferred nearly $50 million

to Donald from his father's empire, but that only emboldened him to take even bigger

risks.

In 1988 he bought the Plaza Hotel for over $400 million and a year later he spent over

$350 million on Eastern Airlines, which he quaintly named Trump Shuttle.

Most famous of all, of course, is Donald's entry into the casino business in Atlantic

City.

While that story is vast enough for a whole video on its own, what matters is that when

Donald's casinos started failing in the early 1990s it was Fred who propped things

up.

He personally gave Donald millions to prevent his casinos from defaulting on their debts

before bankruptcy proceedings could restructure them to give the casinos more time to repay

the loans.

For example, Fred's personal income skyrocketed by an order of magnitude to $50 million, which

incurred a tax bill of $12 million.

During this time he made no significant debt payments or charitable donations, and a frugal

man like him would never just pay taxes because he could, so the money must have gone somewhere.

Around the same time, one of Fred's employees went to the Trump Castle casino, bought $3.35

million worth of casino chips and left without placing any bets.

Another technique Fred used was to actually buy stakes in Donald's properties and then

to resell them back to him at loss a few years later.

In 1987 he purchased 7.5% of Trump Palace, a 55-story building in Manhattan, for over

$15 million.

Just four years later Fred sold back his entire stake for just $10,000 on the pretext that

the business was failing even though it wasn't.

In fact, that very same year Trump Palace sold 57 condos for over $50 million total.

In the early 1990s, however, Fred's health began declining and he even started exhibiting

symptoms of dementia.

Because he still hadn't transferred the majority of his wealth to his children he

began an impressive program to syphon everything he had left to them without paying estate

taxes before he died.

In 1992 his children incorporated a maintenance company which immediately became the subcontractor

for all of Fred's buildings.

All the millions of dollars Fred's properties spent on repairs and improvements started

going through this one company and they all incurred a large markup.

During the next few years the costs for Fred's empire went way up.

In the case of Beach Haven, trash-compacting services increased in price by 64%; janitorial

supplies went up by 100%, and plumbing increased by 120%.

In 1994 Donald and his siblings also became the managers of Fred's buildings to further

drain cash from his empire.

By 1999 the methods Fred masterminded were providing each one of his children with $2.2

million of income per year.

Eventually, when the day came to transfer the properties themselves, the only thing

that mattered was at what price the buildings would be valued and to that extent Donald

and his siblings hired a notorious real estate appraiser to help them out with their problem.

Using a variety of methods, he brought down the price of 25 apartment complexes with 7000

units to just $40 million.

The most hilarious method of all was the way he calculated two of the buildings in Trump

Village to actually have a negative value.

You see, in 1992 Fred removed those two particular buildings from an affordable housing program

so he could raise rents, but in doing so he lost a tax exemption they had under that program.

This created a one-time accounting charge that, if you base your valuation on it, makes

the building appear unprofitable even though it definitely wasn't.

In the end, transferring Fred's entire real estate empire cost him $20 million.

When Fred died in 1999 he had just $2 million in the bank and all the properties he had

spent seven decades to assemble were now in the hands of his children.

Here's the funny thing though: just five year later, when Donald's Atlantic City

casinos were once again nearing bankruptcy, he convinced his siblings to sell the entire

portfolio.

In early 2004, Donald and his brothers and sisters sold off the empire their father had

spent his entire life assembling to a New York City real estate investor for $700 million,

officially bringing an end to the legacy of Fred Trump.

Of course, since then Donald has continued doing business and today his net worth is

estimated to be around $3 billion, so clearly even though he got an immense kickstart from

his father, he did achieve a lot on his own.

And with regards to the legality of Fred Trump's tax-avoiding methods, even if they turned

out to be criminal, the statute of limitations for them has long since expired, so Donald

can only be fined with penalties.

Speaking of tax avoidance, New York City is ripe with it, so much so that the owners of

apartments worth hundreds of millions pay less in property taxes than the average home,

sometimes as low as 0.017%.

If you're curious how they're getting away with it, you should head on over to Cheddar,

who did an awesome video on exactly this topic.

Trump Admin Makes It Harder For People To Get Food Stamps - Duration: 4:07.

Well, Christmas is just a few days away now, and so the Trump administration decided to

give an early present to needy families all over this country, and that present is, we're

about to cut your food stamps and there's nothing you can do about it.

You see Donald Trump and the Republicans had actually been working on cutting food stamps.

They had been wanting to do that for quite some time now.

Uh, but they tried to put it in the farm bill.

Well, it did not survive in the farm bill farm bill gets signed anyway.

So the Trump administration got a little more clever with it.

How can we cut food stamps without having to go through Congress?

And the s da came up with a brilliant plan.

They just issued a new set of rules this week that increases the work requirements for people

receiving snap benefits.

Here's the way it currently works.

If you are receiving snap benefits, there are work requirements.

I think you'd get about three months without having a job before you get kicked off.

But if you're in a state where the unemployment rate is 10 percent or more, you can get an

extension on that because obviously you're in an area where work is hard to find.

The government took that into account.

The new rule lowers that unemployment rate from 10 percent to seven percent.

This is going to result in a few million people getting kicked off of the food stamp programs.

Now, these could be people who are just unable to find work.

They could be people on disability who are unable to work or have an exceptionally difficult

time finding work.

Whatever the reason is, the Trump administration doesn't care.

We don't want you to keep suckling off the government's teat.

We want you to get off your ass and go get a job.

Right?

And not what the Republicans always say, get a job.

You Bum.

A lot of these people can't.

They want to.

They don't want to sit there and just have to have the government take care of them.

They want to take responsibility, but due to circumstances, a lot of them not of their

own making, they're unable to.

Whether it's a faulty economy in the city or state where they live or an accident that

happened to them that prevents them from being able to properly work.

They didn't do this to themselves, but they're the ones being punished.

Meanwhile, the USDA also wants to cut the program by one point $6, billion dollars annually,

so not only are fewer people going to be receiving benefits now, but the benefits the people

do receive.

We're going to reduce those because, hey, we just gave the wealthy a big tax break last

year and we've got to pay for it somehow.

Right?

I, to me, this is Paul Ryan's dream child right here.

We get to screw over the working class poor and then screw them over a little more by

just reducing the total amount of benefits.

Anyway, after kicking so many people off of these benefits, and this is what this administration

prioritized, right in the days before Christmas.

I mean, I can't think of anything more heartless, deceitful and disgusting than what they have

done to these people.

Right in the heart of the holiday season.

Maybe if Trump gets visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve, maybe they'll decide that

this is a bad idea, but I seriously doubt any of that's gonna happen.

Cutting aid for needy people in the United States has been the Republicans number one

agenda item for more than a decade.

They finally found a president heartless enough and clueless enough about what the public's

going to view this like a to actually go through with it.

Trump is their guy and they are his guys.

There is no distinction anymore between Donald Trump and regular republicans because they

are all one in the same with the same goal of screwing over as many poor people as possible.
