 BORDER CRACKDOWN The president's crackdown on birthright citizenship comes just after the Pentagon said it's sending 5200 troops to the Southwest border in an extraordinary military operation to try and stop Central American migrants moving north in slow-moving caravans that are still hundreds of miles from the US

Some of the troops will be armed. The number of troops being deployed is more than double the 2000 who are in Syria fighting the Islamic State group

 Mr Trump stepped up his dire warnings about the caravans in a scathing Twitter rant this week

 "This is an invasion of our Country and our Military is waiting for you!" But any migrants who complete the long trek to the southern US border already face major hurdles — both physical and bureaucratic — to being allowed into the United States

 In an interview on Monday, Mr Trump said the US would build "tent cities" for asylum seekers

 "We're going to put tents up all over the place," told Fox News Channel's Laura Ingraham

"They're going to be very nice and they're going to wait and if they don't get asylum, they get out

" Under current protocol, migrants who clear an initial screening are often released until their cases are decided in immigration court, which can take several years

 The Pentagon's "Operation Faithful Patriot" was described by the commander of US Northern Command as an effort to help Customs and Border Protection "harden the southern border" by stiffening defences at and near legal entry points

 Advanced helicopters will allow border protection agents to swoop down on migrants trying to cross illegally, said Air Force Gen

Terrence O'Shaughnessy. Troops planned to bring heavy concertina wiring to unspool across open spaces between ports

 "We will not allow a large group to enter the US in an unlawful and unsafe manner," Kevin McAleenan, commissioner of Customs and Border Protection said

 A KEY ELECTION ISSUE The escalating rhetoric over the migrants and expected deployments come as the president has been trying to turn immigration into a key election issue, just days before elections that will determine whether Republicans maintain control of Congress

 "This will be the election of the caravans, the Kavanaughs, law and order, tax cuts, and you know what else? It's going to be the election of common sense," Mr Trump said at a rally in Illinois on Saturday night

 On Monday, he tweeted without providing evidence, "Many Gang Members and some very bad people are mixed into the Caravan heading to our Southern Border

" It's possible there are criminals mixed in with immigration, but Mr Trump has not substantiated his claim that members of the MS-13 gang, in particular, are among them

 The troops are expected to perform a wide variety of functions such as transporting supplies for the Border Patrol, but not engage directly with migrants seeking to cross the border, officials said

 One US official said the troops will be sent initially to staging bases in California, Texas and Arizona while the CBP works out precisely where it wants the troops positioned

Armed Migrants In Caravan Open Fire At Police Officers, Trump Makes Them Regret It - Duration: 4:56.

President Donald Trump was right.

There are violent young men, who are not only armed with weapons but are also making Molotov

cocktails, in the caravan of migrants getting ready to storm our Southern border, according

to Mexican authorities.

Two migrants allegedly opened fire at police officers today.

Well, thanks to President Trump, the migrants are now regretting ever joining the caravan

or opening fire.

The violent incident took place in Ignacio Zaragoza, Chiapas, Mexico, which is approximately

a 30-40 hour drive to our Southern border.

According to Mexico's Interior Secretariat, two Honduran men opened fire at police officers

who were escorting the migrant caravan across the southern state of Chiapas.

President Trump made it crystal clear that the caravan would be met by the US military.

This seemed to upset many of the rogue young men inside the caravan, who are armed and

now attacking law enforcement.

They are even making Molotov cocktails.

Breitbart reports, "Mexican authorities arrested two Hondurans who allegedly shot

at federal police officers escorting the migrant caravan across the southern state of Chiapas.

The attack follows shortly after government warnings about Molotov cocktail attacks around

a second caravan near the border with Guatemala."

They add, "The attack took place near Ignacio Zaragoza, Chiapas, when members of Mexico's

Federal Police were escorting the migrant caravan as part of 'Operativo Caminante'

or 'Operation Walker' across the southern border state.

According to Mexico's Interior Secretariat, two men identified only as 22-year-old 'Jerson'

and 17-year-old 'Carlos' spotted the group of police officers guarding the caravan and

began firing at them."

As the attackers' pistol jammed, police officers were able to arrest them without

any injuries.

Federal authorities then seized a .380 caliber Glock with nine rounds still in the magazine.

Thanks to President Trump, who has seemingly been the lone voice bringing attention to

the violent nature of some in the caravan, police officers were on hand in Mexico to

handle this.

But, there's more.

These violent migrants are part of the second caravan en route to the San Diego border.

Hearing President Trump was absolutely denying them entry, it seems Guatemala migrants started

to weaponize themselves.

"Mexico's immigration authorities issued a warning about individuals in Guatemala who

are building Molotov cocktails and other makeshift incendiary devices to be used against federal

police officers guarding their southern border," Breitbart reports.

"The alert follows an incident where a group of migrants in what's being dubbed the second

caravan threw rocks at officials at the Guatemala-Mexico Border and tried to break through international

barriers.

Mexican law enforcement confirmed that some of the protesters in the clash carried firearms,"

added Breitbart.

President Trump told Fox News on Monday evening that Central American migrants who are approaching

the U.S.-Mexico border in caravans are "wasting their time" and vowed, "they are not coming

in."

Fox News reports, "Trump spoke to 'The Ingraham Angle' hours after the Pentagon

announced it would deploy some 5,200 troops to the southern border in what the commander

of U.S. Northern Command described as an effort to 'harden the southern border' by stiffening

defenses at and near legal entry points."

"When they are captured, we don't let them out," Trump told host Laura Ingraham.

"We're not letting them out … We're not catching, we're not releasing … We're

not letting them into this country," the president added.

"Many Gang Members and some very bad people are mixed into the Caravan heading to our

Southern Border," Trump tweeted Monday morning.

"Please go back, you will not be admitted into the United States unless you go through

the legal process.

This is an invasion of our Country and our Military is waiting for you!"

Trump also said the administration would build "tent cities" to house any asylum-seekers

who have joined the caravan.

"We're going to put tents up all over the place," the president said.

"We're not going to build structures and spend … hundreds of millions of dollars.

We're going to have tents.

They're going to be very nice, and they're going to wait, and if they don't get asylum,

they get out."

Trump is doing everything possible to warn Americans that the caravan is not full of

little kids and women, who are fleeing for political asylum.

This is now an armed invasion heading to our Southern border.

On Monday, Mexican Interior Secretary Alfonso Navarrete Prida lamented what he called a second 'violent attempt' to storm the border, accusing people of placing the elderly, pregnant women and children at the front, putting them at risk of being crushed

'Fortunately, that did not happen,' he said.
