course your book is largely about the
shortcuts that a lot of prosecutors take
knowing prosecutors as you do
particularly this one robert muller what
do you think he is more interested in
getting to the truth or just getting at
Donald Trump well ever since he hired
Andrew Weissman and brought him on this
task force I've known that he has
absolutely no interest in seeking the
truth whatsoever mr. Weissman is the
lead villain and license to lie which is
nonfiction it's all true and it names
names including those of other high
ranking Obama administration people who
show up in the page stroke text messages
and other places in the this
investigation so no he's not interested
in getting the truth he I think is part
of the insurance policy that was
concocted with McCabe stroke page and
others to destroy the president which is
why he's also featured on the t-shirt at
my website creeps on a mission so why
should anyone not just the president
anyway cooperate with somebody who's out
to get their scowl well I understand
what the president wants to and I
appreciate the fact he has been the most
transparent president in long history
but I would not allow him to do that
under any circumstances where I advising
him there you just simply cannot trust
that environment to produce anything
other than an indictment for the
slightest Mis statement I mean look at
mr. Papadopoulos who simply gave a wrong
timeframe for some of his conversations
with people and wound up being indicted
well meanwhile the real collusion story
the story of the the collusion between
the FBI and the DOJ and possibly even
the CIA over the the Trump dossier and
and Christopher Steele the author of
that dossier and Fuzion GPS the funded
by Hillary campaign that collusion story
continues to get fleshed out more and
some of it surprisingly came from Bruce
ORS testimony even though a lot of
people thought he would just clam up but
the husband of a woman who worked for
fusion gps was the one who was spreading
the Trump dossier even before the FISA
warrants were issued by the FBI that is
they knew the FBI knew about his
relationship to Chris seal he was quite
open about that before they issued the
FISA warrant something that they should
have put in the FISA warrants no oh yes
they left a lot of information that
should have been included well in fact
since the entire thing was made up there
should never been any FISA warrant
applications to begin with I think Nelly
or we will find had a much greater role
in this than we know now it wouldn't
surprise me to learn that she actually
had as much role in writing the quote
steel dossier as mr. Steele did because
she was working for fusion GPS who I
believe will find if we get the FISA
Court decision unredacted and
unclassified was one of the private
contractors to whom Comey gave
unfettered access to the raw NSA
intelligence database in 2015 well
Sydney let me just jump in if I can
because a lot of people have been
pressuring the President to declassify
everything is though be a snap of the
fingers for the president to do that
however there is a hangover an executive
order hangover from the previous
administration that might make it so
that it's not that easy for the
president to declassify no well there
are a lot of considerations that go into
be classifying something the main thing
being national security and the presence
of any quote sources or methods they
call it for the information that need to
be protected but it's not that hard to
read these documents and tell what
really needs to be kept secret versus
which is a cover-up of information that
the taxpayers and the public are
entitled to know so but it's our
president executive runners our
president Trump's hands now tied by an
executive order that prevents
declassification by President Trump know
he can undo that executive order
anything Obama did by executive order
president Trump can undo
by executive order he just needs to be
mindful of the considerations that
warranted the executive order in the
first place
speaking of President Obama it's a
little off track for from your book and
your particular expertise but I'm
wondering his his outrageous I would
call it attack certainly unprecedented
attack on president Trump most
presidents in my lifetime have had the
decency to be quiet about the successor
even if they totally disagreed with what
their successor was doing this president
is obviously breaking with tradition
what do you think about that
I was absolutely appalled it is a two
hundred plus year tradition of silence
for the past president to allow the new
administration to do what the voters
wanted it to do without that intrusive
interference he paid lip service to that
in his speech and then proceeded to
absolutely destroy it he just walked all
over and spit on that tradition it's
nothing short of outrageous and
appalling do you think there will be
blowback from this I hope there's
blowback
I mean it's best I can tell the
Democrats have the donkey as their logo
for a reason and most of them were
acting like the southbound end of the
northbound donkey I can't approve on
that that's got to be the end of this
conversation Sydney great to see you

you with us let's start with this first
bombshell from Robert Muller saying that
he will accept the president's attorneys
recommendation that that there be
written questions and written answers to
any in any interview that they could
accept your reaction
this is a good compromise loo it's much
better in the sense that lawyers can
help with this and control what
information is given and help make sure
that it doesn't stray off point so I
think this is a really good development
hopefully you'll move us closer towards
closure here I there is that I think
that's some of the problem here isn't it
there is no clear map forward on the
part of the special council this could
go irrespective of whatever the
president concedes it can go for years
there is no end point there is no there
are no markers it is just a special
council waging war on the president
under the rubric of collusion with the
Russians which we know there was well
that is a right and that is a problem
with the whole special council situation
I don't think it's constitutional
personally and we really have a
situation where the DOJ is supposed to
be controlling it and as we know rod
Rosen Stein has shown no interest in
doing that but that said in terms of
damage control and limiting the impact
of the presidency this is the best way
to go the best way to go and where do we
go but at this point can you assess at
all what the special council has come up
with and and what where would when would
that report come out and your I know
you're just speculating like all the
rest of us but you have a better
informed base than ninety percent of us
may be 99 percent so well a couple of
things number one in terms of the
content and where it could go it has
looked like Special Counsel has been on
a fishing expedition for some time and
given the leakiness of that whole
operation the fact that nothing has
moved out of it that implicates the
president and the president I think has
been very transparent all along I think
that bodes well for there being nothing
to wrap up but in terms of the timing
the special counsel I think does adhere
to the traditional rules of the DOJ and
some kind of report like this is not
supposed to be released within 60 days
of an election and so I would expect
that report now to possibly be delayed
until after the November election which
would be appropriate but you know what
we don't want to see is you know second
round of questions I mean this here's me
at one time deal where it's some
questions are done and then answered and
never done the
nothing appropriate about the special
this special counsel from its inception
I mean very quickly the Supreme Court
hearings today the Democrats you know
you may can argue that it was violent
the demonstrations were carried out
against the Republicans the
interruptions attempting to delay and
disrupt the hearing we have sunk let me
rephrase him the Democrats have sunk to
a new low
and why in the world are Republicans
putting up with well there is a school
of thought that Republicans are putting
up with it to show the world how absurd
these people are but I think they do
that every day anyway so I would agree
with you that a firmer hand is needed
here I think what's really missing from
this discussion is the fact that the
American Bar Association notoriously
liberal organization that dinged Robert
Bork has given him well-qualified so
with that Democrats are only able to
focus on this outside the room nonsense
and not on the merits of the situation
now that it does look bad for them I
think he served on the second highest
court in the land for 12 years he was
he's already been confirmed by the
Senate this is absurd it's idiocy it is
just absolutely embarrassing desperate
viciousness on their part Harvey thanks
