Christine Ford Attended March Protesting Trump: Report | Heavy.com

Christine Blasey Ford, the accuser of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, participated in a women's march protesting President Donald Trump last year, according to a friend of Blasey Ford's who spoke to The Mercury News.

The California newspaper quoted Rebecca White, described as "one of Blasey Ford's neighbors and a good friend." In the article, White praises Ford's "honesty and truth" and claims Ford told her about the alleged attack in 2017 without using Kavanaugh's name.

She also revealed a previously unreported detail about Blasey Ford's politics: That Ford took part in a women's march protesting President Trump, who nominated Kavanaugh.

The Mercury News, in an article by journalist Julia Prodis Sulek, reported that White told its journalist that "Blasey Ford participated in a local Women's March protesting Trump last year." White told the Mercury News she worried that Blasey Ford's alliance with "liberal causes" will increase tensions when Blasey Ford testifies before the U.S.

Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday, September 24, 2018.

White indicated to the newspaper that Ford's political involvement may enable her to speak "authoritatively" before the committee, however.

Christine Blasey Ford has come forward to accuse Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct that dates to the 1980s, when both of them were in high school.

Because the Supreme Court nomination is so politicized – Kavanaugh would replace centrist Anthony Kennedy on the court – Christine Ford's politics has become a flashpoint in the debate.

She's a registered Democrat, according to The Washington Post; that's the newspaper she allowed to print her name.

Christine Ford came forward on September 16, 2018 to The Washington Post and revealed that she was the anonymous woman who has accused Kavanaugh, who has strenuously denied the accusations.

In the interview with The Post, Ford accused Kavanaugh of pinning her down and groping her before she escaped; she says another high school friend of Kavanaugh's named Mark Judge was in the room.

Judge, a D.C.-based writer, previously told The Weekly Standard – before Christine Blasey Ford was named – that the account was false.

Ford works as a professor at Palo Alto University and teaches in consortium with Stanford University.

She has written or helped write more than 50 journals, book chapters, and other articles.

One study focused on trauma as a result of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

In addition to the women's march, Kavanaugh once donned a knitted brain cap modeled after the well-known pink p*ssy hats for a science march.

A 2017 article in the Mercury News says that Blasey Ford was planning to attend a science march wearing a knitted brain hat that was supposed to resemble the pink p*ssy hats that many have used to protest Donald Trump and advocate for women's rights.

"It's a science party!" the article quotes "biostatistician Christine Blasey, of Palo Alto" as saying.

It says she would "wear an elaborately knitted cap of the human brain — yarn turned into a supersized cerebral cortex — inspired by the 'pussy hats' donned during the Women's Marches." The article describes the march as involving people, in general, who are "deeply worried that political leaders are ignoring scientific evidence, aren't committed to fighting climate change and are calling for significant cuts to national science programs." It didn't specifically attribute those views to Blasey, though.

Kavanaugh has denied the allegations, saying, "I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation.

I did not do this back in high school or at any time.".

Christine Blasey Ford Has Made Some Political Contributions, Including to Bernie Sanders.

Ford's 1983 yearbook photo.

The Washington Post reports that Christine Ford is a "registered Democrat who has made small contributions to political organizations.

Blasey Ford's lawyer is Debra Katz, a prominent sexual harassment civil rights attorney known in the #metoo movement.

According to the FEC website, Katz is a Democratic campaign donor.

Christine Ford Signed a Letter Demanding an End to Trump's Family Separations at the Border.

Christine Ford signed a letter with many other health professionals demanding that Trump stop his controversial policy on family separations at the border.

She signed the letter as Christine Blasey, and it was used as an exhibit in an ACLU lawsuit against the Trump administration.

Christine Blasey Ford's letter may stem from her research into "child maltreatment issues.

" For example, she is the co-author on a journal article titled, "Does Gender Moderate the Relationship Between Childhood Maltreatment and Adult Depression?" The abstract for that journal – one of many research articles she's been involved in – reads in part: "In a sample of 5,673 adult Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) patients, the authors employed the Patient Health Questionnaire-8 (PHQ-8) to assess major depressive disorder (MDD) and the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ) to assess five different types of childhood maltreatment: emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, as well as emotional and physical neglect.

The letter signed by Christine Blasey was also released as a press release on June 14, 2018.

"America's Health Professionals Appeal to Trump Administration: End Family Separation at Border Immediately" it's headlined.

(At the time, the family separation policy was hotly criticized by people on both sides of the political aisle, and Trump eventually said he was changing the policy.).

The press release on the letter says in part: "Thousands of medical voices from across the United States have joined forces with Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) to urge the Trump administration to immediately halt the separation of migrant and asylum seeking children from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border.

A letter, addressed to U.S.

Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen and U.S.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions, signed by more than 5,000 experts across the health and child development fields, and calling for swift action, was delivered today to the administration.".

"It should not be U.S.

policy to traumatize children, and especially not as a form of indirect punishment of their parents," the letter reads.

"Forced separation of children and parents, especially in connection with the detention of a parent, can constitute an adverse childhood experience, which research links with disrupted neurodevelopment, resulting in social, emotional, and cognitive impairment, and even negative intergenerational effects," the letter adds.

You can read the press release here.

It was released by the organization Physicians for Human Rights.

The letter, which is addressed to Trump's Secretary of Homeland Security and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, opens, "As medical and mental health professionals and researchers working in the United States, we are gravely concerned about the Trump administration's practice of separating migrant and asylum-seeking families at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Such a practice is profoundly harmful to children and to families, in addition to violating fundamental human rights.

We urge you to immediately end forced separation of families at the border, and instead keep families together in community-based settings while their immigration proceedings are pending.".

The letter also argues, "The intentional infliction of pain on children and their families is not just inhumane, it also fails to meet the stated goals of deterrence.

Punishing parents with family separation may cause damage to their children, and it will not change the realities that drove the parents to seek safe haven in the United States.".

It's signed Christine Blasey, PhD, psychologist.

Trump defends order for DOJ to release classified docs and Comey texts - Duration: 16:44.

President Donald Trump said he would 'expose' the Department of Justice for abusing its power to 'spy' on his presidential campaign on Tuesday as he sought to justify his directive to the law enforcement agency to release classified communications about the Russia probe

'Really bad things were happening, but they are now being exposed.Big stuff!' he tweeted

The president referenced New York Congressman Peter King in the message that highlighted the Republican lawmaker's appearance on Fox News the evening prior

King said, according to Trump: 'What will be disclosed is that there was no basis for these FISA Warrants, that the important information was kept from the court, there's going to be a disproportionate influence of the (Fake) Dossier

Basically you have a counter terrorism tool used to spy on a presidential campaign, which is unprecedented in our history

' King did not use those words exactly. He did not call the dossier 'fake,' for instance, but did call the spying on Page 'unprecedented

' He appeared on the news network to defend Trump's order from Democratic charges that the president's demand to DOJ that it release classified and sensitive information was 'desperate, dangerous and deliberately misleading' and a 'clear abuse' of presidential power

'The President is potentially risking the lives of our patriots by compromising sources and methods, all so he can advance falsehoods and false narratives that distract from the truth of the Trump-Russia scandal,' House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said

Pelosi demanded that Trump allow special counsel Robert Mueller to continue his investigation into Russian election meddling unimpeded

'This investigation is working, and must be allowed to continue to do its job free from the White House and GOP's interference,' she said

Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues were fuming after Trump ordered the Department of Justice to release a host of documents related to the Russia probe on Monday, including texts between two former FBI officials who talked about stopping his rise to power

Trump also directed DOJ to declassify pages from a warrant from a secret court that allowed the feds to spy on former campaign adviser Carter Page and all of the interview reports the bureau prepared to go along with it

The president told Justice to publish reports tied to its interview with DOJ official Bruce Ohr, whose wife Nellie worked at the firm that put together the unverified dossier of dirt on the president, in the sweeping declassification of documents associated with the special counsel investigation

Ohr is known to have been in contact with the dossier's author, ex-British spy Christopher Steele

And in a further request, Trump called for the release of text messages relating to the probe that were sent or received by ex-FBI director James Comey, whom the president last year fired

The announcement came the same day as Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's nomination ran off the skids following a woman's claim that he and a friend perpetrated a sex attack on her three decades ago

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders made the declaration in a statement distributed to reporters as the president was speaking at Hispanic Heritage Month event

It read: 'At the request of a number of committees of Congress, and for reasons of transparency, the President has directed the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Justice (including the FBI) to provide for the immediate declassification of the following materials: (1) pages 10-12 and 17-34 of the June 2017 application to the FISA court in the matter of Carter W

Page; (2) all FBI reports of interviews with Bruce G.Ohr prepared in connection with the Russia investigation; and (3) all FBI reports of interviews prepared in connection with all Carter Page FISA applications

'In addition, President Donald J.Trump has directed the Department of Justice (including the FBI) to publicly release all text messages relating to the Russia investigation, without redaction, of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Ohr

' The documents Trump requested were not immediately available. But a Department of Justice spokesperson said in a Monday evening statement that the document review process had already begun

'When the President issues such an order, it triggers a declassification review process that is conducted by various agencies within the intelligence community, in conjunction with the White House Counsel, to seek to ensure the safety of America's national security interests,' the person said

'The Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are already working with the Director of National Intelligence to comply with the President's order

' It was expected to take days, if not weeks, for DOJ to put together all of the requested materials, especially the Russia texts that Justice will have to sort through and review for each of the named targets

Trump was expected to demand the release of the documents relating to surveillance of Page, his former foreign policy advisor and Ohr, a career Justice Department official who had contacts with the author of the Golden Showers dossier, any day now

His demand that Justice release Comey's texts, on the other hand, was completely unexpected

Republicans running two key congressional panels have been pushing for the declassification of the surveillance documents and texts between Strzok and former FBI attorney Lisa Page for months, arguing that whey will reveal bias within the criminal justice system that Trump believes taints the Russia probe

Democrats on those same panels have argued that declassification would be a crass political move in advance of an election

Rep.Adam Schiff, the top-ranking Democrat on the House Intel Committee, accused Trump on Monday of a 'clear abuse' of his presidential power

Trump said on several occasions that he planned to stay out of it but hinted more recently that he was likely to exercise his authority as the nation's chief executive to guide the affairs of the agency that is supposed to be independent

Axios reported Trump was expected to take the action last week. The publication quoted conservative Freedom Caucus chair Rep

Mark Meadows of North Carolina saying: 'After two years of investigations and accusations from both sides of the aisle about what documents indicate, it is past time for documents to be declassified and let the American people decide for themselves if DOJ and FBI acted properly

' Trump has railed against Ohr, a career Justice official who ran an organized crime task force, over his contacts with Steele, who wrote the dossier alleging the Russians had compromising material on the president from his time in the private sector

Trump has regularly brought up that Ohr's wife, Nellie, worked for Fusion GPS, the political intelligence firm that contracted Steele for the dossier

Ohr and Steele also had communications during the campaign. In emails Steele wrote to Ohr seeking help identifying a contact

The since-demoted Ohr told lawmakers that Steele told him at a July 2016 breakfast that Russian intelligence believed they had Trump 'over a barrel' with the blackmail documents that he outlined in the unproven dossier

Their breakfast took place after Kremlin-backed hackers had already stolen Democratic emails as part of Russian directed interference in the presidential election

Ohr acknowledged to Congress that he didn't tell his superiors about what he learned from Steele

Trump has demanded repeatedly since that he be fired, and threatened to strip him of his security clearance

He asked in a July tweet 'how the hell' Ohr was still working at the Justice Department, after including him on a list of officials who could lose their security clearances

'I think Bruce Ohr is a disgrace,' Trump wrote.'I suspect I'll be taking it away very quickly

For him to be in the Justice Department and doing what he did, that is a disgrace

' 'Will Bruce Ohr, whose family received big money for helping to create the phony, dirty and discredited Dossier, ever be fired from the Jeff Sessions 'Justice' Department? A total joke!' Trump tweeted August 20

Ohr lost his title of associate deputy attorney last December and relinquished leadership of an Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force

Republicans have cited his meeting with Steele after the election and his failure to list his wife's work on government disclosure forms as factors that have marred the Russia probe, although there have been no indications he signed off on surveillance warrants or other materials

Ohr and Steele were both part of an effort to flip Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska to try to secure cooperation against Russian President Vladimir Putin between 2014 and 2016, the New York Times reported early this month

Their work together began before Trump was ever a candidate. In another point of contention, Democrats have said that information aside from the dossier was used to obtain the FISA warrant to spy on Page, a low-level figure inside the Trump campaign

Their version of events is backed up by a redacted version of the warrant that has already been released by the court

Trump and Republicans in Congress maintain that the FBI relied on the Steele dossier to get surveillance on Page and start the Russia probe

FBI officials have testified that the dossier only corroborated information the bureau was already obtaining

Republicans also want to unseal documents related to surveillance warrants on Page, who an investor who advised Trump's campaign

Page had lived in Russia, traveled to Moscow during the campaign, and had been suspected by U

S.counterintelligence of being a possible Russian agent since 2013.They applauded him on Monday, with Congressman Matt Gaetz saying in a statement that he and his colleagues in the House had requested those documents for months but 'faced lengthy and unnecessary delays, redactions, and refusals from officials at the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation

' 'These documents will reveal to the American people some of the systemic corruption and bias that took place at the highest levels of the DOJ and FBI, including using the tools of our intelligence community for partisan political ends

Full transparency is the best way to ensure that surveillance abuses of this magnitude will never happen again,' Rep

Gaetz said.Schiff bashed Trump as having clearly engaged in an 'abuse of power' as he took him to task for his decision to 'intervene in a pending law enforcement investigation by ordering the selective release of materials he believes are helpful to his defense team and thinks will advance a false narrative

' 'With respect to some of these materials, I have been previously informed by the FBI and Justice Department that they would consider their release a red line that must not be crossed as they may compromise sources and methods,' he said

'This is evidently of no consequence to a President who cares nothing about the country and everything about his narrow self-interest

Donald Trump Just Took Down James Comey And The FBI For Good - Duration: 2:27.

Donald Trump gave James Comey and the FBI some very bad

news.

Trump is exposing their Deep State secrets to the public.

And he is releasing the smoking gun that will take down Comey and the anti-Trump FBI for

good.

Donald Trump Shocks The Deep State Trey Gowdy and Devin Nunes pushed Trump to

declassify documents about the FBI's efforts to spy on Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

They believe releasing them will show the public that the FBI ran a politically motivated

witch hunt against Trump.

Trump had already ordered the DOJ to release their warrant application to spy on Page.

It showed that the FBI had used the fake news Christopher Steele dossier as the basis for

spying on Page.

However, 20 pages of the application were still blacked out.

Critics Claim A Conspiracy Critics believe the FBI hid those 20 pages

to keep the public from knowing just how badly the Bureau abused its powers.

They contend the FBI was protecting Comey and his allies from scrutiny as opposed to

protecting national security.

Trump's allies urged the President to make the documents public.

The media spent months lying about Trump and journalists claimed Trump was making up the

idea of a Deep State.

They falsely reported that it did not exist.

A Big Problem For James Comey

Trump's allies in Congress cheered the move.

They have spent months pressing him to take this action.

Congressman Mark Meadows tweeted: TRANSPARENCY WINS.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE RIGHT CALL FROM @POTUS.

IT'S TIME TO GET THE FULL TRUTH ON THE TABLE SO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE CAN DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES

ON WHAT HAPPENED AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF THEIR FBI AND JUSTICE DEPARTMENT.

TRANSPARENCY IS A GOOD THING.

IF WE ARE PROTECTING SOURCES AND METHODS IN THESE DOCUMENTS, AMERICANS DESERVE TO KNOW

THE FULL TRUTH.

BOTTOM LINE: IF PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO HIDE THIS INFORMATION FROM YOU, IT SAYS FAR MORE

ABOUT THEM THAN IT DOES THE PRESIDENT OR ANYONE ELSE.

Transparency wins.

Comey and others thought they could get away with spying on Trump because Hillary Clinton

would win the election.

But since Trump won, their misdeeds are being brought to the light.

Trump ordering the disclosure of text messages and documents about the Russia probe will

show once and for all that he was correct to call the investigation a hoax.

We will keep you up-to-date on any new developments in this ongoing story.

We'll call it 'Fort Trump!' President says he's considering a permanent American base in Poland - Duration: 5:21.

The president of Poland appealed to President Donald Trump's well known affection for slapping his name on buildings as he pitched a permanent U

S.military base in his country that he said would be named 'Fort Trump.' The president raised his eyebrow at the idea but didn't rule it out

Trump then hailed Poland's offer to pay $2 billion toward U.S.costs, even as he blasted other unnamed 'immensely wealthy' countries the U

S.effectively pays to defend.Trump says that he's considering the idea and that Poland has offered more than $2 billion to the U

S.to pay for such an effort.Trump praised Poland's defense efforts, and took a new round of digs at other NATO allies who lag on spending commitments

'When we're defending immensely wealthy countries and they're not paying for the defense to the United States they're only taking advantage of us,' Trump said, resurrecting a harangue about Germany and other NATO allies who fall short of defense spending pledges

'Ladies and gentlemen, I was smiling when talking to Mr.President,' said Duda during a joint press conference while standing alongside Trump, whose name adorns the Trump Tower residence where he lives, the Trump golf courses he frequents in Virginia, Florida, and New Jersey, as well as numerous other properties around the country and the world

'I said I would very much like for us to set up a permanent American bases in Poland, which we would call Fort Trump, and I firmly believe that this is possible

I am convinced that such a decision lies both in the Polish interest as well as in the interest of the United States

There were some chuckles in the East Room of the White House when Duda pitched the idea

After a delay, Trump smiled and raised an eyebrow.'We believe that the presence of the United States is a guarantor of security in our part of Europe

We ourselves want to invest further. We want to modernize Polish armed forces,' he said

'We are implementing the largest military investment so far as the Polish armed forces are concerned over the past 30 years,' Duda said

Trump says they agreed to bolster defense, energy and commercial ties. And he says the alliance between the two countries has 'never been stronger

' Poland has been pressing for the 3,000 U.S.troops now deployed in Poland on a rotating basis to be upgraded to a larger, permanent presence as it faces Russia's increased military activity in the region

Trump says he's 'very seriously' considering a greater U.S.troop presence in Poland as he meets with that country's president at the White House

Trump earlier told reporters in the Oval Office that Poland is 'willing to make a very major contribution to the United States to come in and have a presence in Poland

'Sitting alongside Poland's President Andrzej Duda, Trump says 'certainly it's something we will discuss

' The push by Poland comes amid historic rival Russia's increased military activity

Trump and Duda are also discussing trade and energy cooperation. The U.S.president is renewing his criticism of a planned new natural gas pipeline linking Germany with Russia

Stock Market: Storm Florence and Trump two main reasons for restraint on stock markets (18.09.2018) - Duration: 2:09.

U.S. stocks finished mostly flat on Friday in a session marked by whipsaw action in the

middle of the session, spurred by a report that President Donald Trump still wanted to

impose tariffs on China despite recent suggestions that tensions between Washington and Beijing

were easing.

The S&P 500 index rose to 2,905, notching its fifth straight positive day,

narrowly notching its longest win streak in about seven months.

The S&P 500 gained 1.2% over last week.

The Dow Jones Industrial ended the session slightly up at 26,155.

For the week, the Dow rose by 0.9%.

Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite Index gave up less than 0.1% to close at 8,010.

The Nasdaq booked a 1.4% weekly gain.

All three of the main benchmarks sunk after a report said Donald Trump intended on imposing

tariffs on China.

Markets had been buoyed by a hope that a detente between Beijing and Washington on trade was near.

Separately, investors were keeping an eye on Hurricane Florence which touched down in

the Carolinas on Friday and was buffeting the coastline with heavy rains and wind.

In corporate action, Boeing shares pared gains to close by 1.2 percent higher, while Caterpillar

erased its gains to end by 0.4 percent lower.

Boeing and Caterpillar are considered bellwethers for global trade given their large international

exposure.

Meanwhile, shares of Tilray Inc. slumped by 9% after a report that the U.S. government

may ban those who invest or work in the industry.

ICE ERO Chicago.

"Operations like this reflect the vital work our ERO officers do every day to protect

our communities, uphold public safety and protect the integrity of our immigration laws.

We will continue to devote the full efforts of our agency to protecting citizens and enforcing

federal immigration law.

Communities are safer today because of the hard work done by the men and women of ERO."

All of the targets in this operation were amenable to arrest and removal under the U.S.

Immigration and Nationality Act.

ICE deportation officers carry out targeted enforcement operations daily nationwide as

part of the agency's ongoing efforts to protect the nation, uphold public safety,

and protect the integrity of our immigration laws and border controls.

During targeted enforcement operations, ICE officers frequently encounter other aliens

illegally present in the United States.

These aliens are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and, when appropriate, they are arrested

by ICE officers.
