U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly directed his aides to proceed with fresh tariffs

on Chinese goods.

The Wall Street Journal reports, the measures could be announced as early as Monday.

Kim Hyo-sun has the latest.

The Trump administration is set to announce additional tariffs on Chinese goods worth

some two-hundred billion U.S. dollars.

Citing a senior government official,... the Wall Street Journal reported over the weekend

that the new tariffs could come as early as Monday local time.

It also explained that the new tariffs, as instructed by President Trump, will be set

at ten percent,... lower than the initial figure of 25 percent.

President Trump has signaled numerous times during the past weeks that he could slap additional

tariffs on a wide range of consumer goods manufactured in China.

Aside from such measures,...

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has made clear that high-level talks aimed at

alleviating the trade tensions between Washington and Beijing will be held late next week.

While the U.S. aims to squeeze Beijing,... the Trump administration's additional tariffs

could jeopardize the discussions,... and lead to fresh retaliation from China.

The trade war was initiated by Washington's 25 percent tariff on 34 billion dollars worth

of Chinese goods in July,... prompting China to hit back with its own levies on American

goods worth the same amount.

Trump Expels Obama Swamp Slug And He's About To Get Rid Of EIGHT More - Duration: 5:43.

Trump Expels Obama Swamp Slug And He's About To Get Rid Of EIGHT More

One of President Trump's strongest promises, when he was campaigning, was that he would

drain the DC swamp.

I don't think the bureaucrats in the Beltway took him seriously, but they are beginning

to change their tune.

Trump is now focusing on them one at a time and a number of them are having their days

counted down in the government.

Just last month, Trump revoked the security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan.

It was richly deserved as he was going on paid media networks and horribly disparaging

the president and his office, not to mention those that serve at Trump's pleasure.

And Trump has set his sights on eight or nine others who have also turned on his presidency

and in my opinion are national security threats.

You have a right to disagree with the president or anyone else… you do not have the right

to start name calling and disparaging the president and all that America stands for

just because you don't like the way someone's brand of politics is flowing these days.

That amounts to aiding and abetting the enemy.

"Mr. Brennan's lying and recent conduct characterized by increasingly frenzied commentary

is wholly inconsistent with access to the nation's most closely held secrets and facilities,

the very aim of our adversaries which is to sow division and chaos," White House Press

Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated.

"Mr. Brennan has recently leveraged his status as a former high-ranking official with

access to highly sensitive information to make a series of unfounded and outrageous

allegations — wild outbursts on the Internet and television — about this Administration,"

the president's statement continued.

"More broadly, the issue of Mr. Brennan's security clearance raises larger questions

about the practice of former officials maintaining access to our nation's most sensitive secrets

long after their time in government has ended," Sanders added.

Soon to be evaluated in a similar fashion are former FBI Director James Comey, former

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former National Security Agency Director Michael

Hayden, former national security adviser Susan Rice, former FBI attorney Lisa Page, former

Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, former FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok,

former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, and Bruce Ohr.

The only one out of that bunch that isn't a total slug is Hayden and he says losing

his clearance will not affect him much.

The rest are definitely security risks.

Brennan was furious and responded via Twitter.

"This action is part of a broader effort by Mr. Trump to suppress freedom of speech

& punish critics," he wrote.

"It should gravely worry all Americans, including intelligence professionals, about

the cost of speaking out.

My principles are worth far more than clearances.

I will not relent," he wrote.

And yet, he threatened to sue over it.

Brennan even gave an interview to MSNBC where he blustered that if the president believed

that the action would lead the former CIA director "to just go away and be quiet,

he is very badly mistaken."

We should get so lucky.

"I've seen this type of behavior, and actions on the part of foreign tyrants and

despots and autocrats during my CIA and national security career," he said.

"I never thought I would see it here in the United States.

And so I do believe that all Americans really need to take stock of what is happening right

now in our government, and how abnormal and how irresponsible and how dangerous these

actions are."

Brennan whined that he was not informed by the government but instead, had to find out

about his security clearance being revoked from a friend who called when Sanders was

delivering the president's statement.

Cry me a river.

This is one Obama swamp slug that should have been stripped of his security clearances and

ejected long ago.

"Security clearances for those who still have them may be revoked, and those who have

already lost their security clearance may not be able to have it reinstated," Sanders

said.

From Politico:

"Susan Gordon, principal deputy director of national intelligence, told POLITICO on

Wednesday that she didn't know whether the White House consulted National Intelligence

Director Dan Coats before it announced the decision to revoke Brennan's clearance.

"But it is a presidential decision," she said.

"That authority is his; he can make the decisions.

I don't know whether we were consulted or not, but whether we were or not, it's an

executive decision for him to make."

"She pointed out that security clearances have traditionally been important tools for

the U.S. intelligence community, allowing agencies to rely the experiences of former

department chiefs.

"There's a whole range of people that we rely on, including our formers who have

those clearances to help us be better at what we do and know," she said on the sidelines

of a Defense Intelligence Agency conference in Omaha, Nebraska.

"Gordon said she didn't have any indication whether the removal of Brennan's clearances

was part of a "larger trend."

"She stressed, however, that former agency leaders — including those working for private

companies and those still in government — remain important parts of the intelligence community.

And, she said, former officials with clearances should maintain certain standards to keep

those clearances.

"Yes, that's important as well," she said."

Trump's actions here are widely supported by conservatives such as Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY),

Fox News' Tucker Carlson, and the Senate majority whip, John Cornyn (R-TX), who is

on the Intelligence Committee.

He said it was "entirely appropriate" for Trump to take action against Brennan.

Now, if we can just go even further and reboot the intelligence agencies with intense background

checks and severe vetting.

The swamp would start to drain even faster at that point I bet.

I'm glad to see Brennan get the boot by Trump… no big loss if you ask me, in fact…

it's a huge win.

When the others go it will also be worth celebrating.

TRUMP INFURIATES ROBERT MUELLER WITH HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT - Duration: 11:28.

TRUMP INFURIATES ROBERT MUELLER WITH HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT

Sarah Huckabee Sanders held a White House press briefing today for the first time in

a few weeks and the media was ready to pounce.

The questions were rude as usual and Sarah answered each with elegance and grace.

And a little fire in the belly when she basically told Bob Mueller that the fight has just begun.

Not what he wanted to hear.

From The Hill:

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Wednesday that President Trump

was not issuing a formal directive to Jeff Sessions when he tweeted the attorney general

should bring the Russia probe to an end

"It's not an order.

It's the president's opinion," Sanders told reporters during a press briefing.

Sanders called the special counsel's probe into ties between the Trump campaign and Russian

interference in the 2016 "ridiculous" and said the president "wants to see it

come to an end."

"The president is not obstructing.

He is fighting back," she added.

Sessions has recused himself from the investigation into Moscow's election meddling, and Sanders

said she was unaware of Trump making similar comments to Deputy Attorney Rod Rosenstein,

who is overseeing the special counsel.

Her comments echo those make by Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Jay Sekulow, who told The

Washington Post the president "uses tweets to express his opinion."

From CNN:

"It's not an order.

It's the President's opinion, and it's ridiculous that all of the corruption and

dishonesty that's gone on with the launching of the witch hunt, the President wants to

— has watched this process play out.

But he also wants to see it come to an end as he stated many times.

And we look forward to that happening."

Asked later whether Rudy Giuliani was advising the President on the matter, Sanders declined

to say, but reiterated, "The President is not obstructing, he's fighting back."

She said Trump was "stating his opinion" and "stating it clearly," noting that

Trump was "expressing frustration" with corruption from officials like James Comey,

Andrew McCabe, and Peter Strzok.

Is Trump Intentionally Trying To Tank The Economy? - Duration: 3:36.

Over the weekend, the Trump administration announced that the president is preparing

an additional package of 200 billion dollars' worth of new tariffs on goods coming over

from China.

Now, Donald Trump and the Republicans always keep telling us how great the economy is doing,

and on the surface, yeah, it looks like the economy is doing great.

But every credible economist has told us that not only is this a bubble, but that there

are many different things that could come along and pop that bubble.

One of them is a trade war, which is exactly what Donald Trump is engaging in right now.

We have already had to spend billions of dollars bailing out US farmers.

We've already seen stores around the country closing their doors because they can't afford

the products from overseas anymore, to bring them over here to the United States to finish

the manufacturing process or because they need those products in the manufacturing process.

So we've lost thousands of jobs, people are suffering, farmers are suffering, we can't

bail everyone out after all, and Trump wants to impose an additional 200 billion dollars'

worth of tariffs on Chinese goods, and this particular tariff package is going to hit

every single person in this country.

Here are just some of the items that will be taxed to hell and back under Trump's new

proposal here.

Refrigerators, air conditioners, furniture, televisions, toys, more than one thousand

different everyday consumer products.

One thousand.

Oh, and keep in mind, we're also coming up on the holiday shopping season, so pretty

much anything that you might be shopping for to get your loved ones or your children or

whoever it may be, yeah, the price on that is about to go through the roof because the

president seems to be intentionally trying to tank the economy.

Honestly, that's one of the only conclusions you can come to at this point.

Donald Trump knows the trade wars don't benefit anyone.

He knows that it's going to drive prices up for consumers, which means there's going to

be a spending shrink, or a spending freeze altogether, but he's doing it anyway because

he wants to prove a point to China, that he's the biggest, baddest guy there is to deal

with.

So what are they going to do?

They're going to do the same thing.

They've done it every single time.

Every time he imposes a new tariff on them, they put a new one on us, because they can.

Donald Trump has to understand that in some areas, especially economically speaking, because

of the way this country has gone to hell under capitalism in the last 30 years, we're not

the biggest, baddest, bestest economy in the world anymore.

Right?

We rely on all these other countries, not just for the goods they produce, but sometimes

they actually produce goods that are necessary for our manufacturing processes, and if we

can't get those, we can't even make some of the goods we make at home at home.

Trump doesn't seem to understand that.

There are some members of his administration who understand it and they've tried to talk

him out of it, but he doesn't want to listen because he thinks he's smarter than everyone

else.

He is the dumbest person in that White House today, and that is a White House that actually

includes Jared Kushner, but Trump by far is the dumbest.

And if I didn't know any better, I'd swear that he was trying to intentionally tank the

US economy just so that he could probably blame it on the Democrats in the future.

President Trump FINALLY Breaks His Silence On The Allegations Against Brett Kavanaugh(VIDEO)!!! - Duration: 16:17.

President Trump FINALLY Breaks His Silence On The Allegations Against Brett Kavanaugh

is one of the finest people that I've

ever known he's an outstanding intellect

and outstanding judge respected by

everybody never had even a little

blemish on his record

the FBI has I think on through a process

six times with him over the years where

he went to higher and higher positions

he is somebody very special at the same

time we want to go through a process we

want to make sure everything is perfect

everything is just right

I wish the Democrats could have done

this a lot sooner because they had this

information for many months and they

shouldn't have waited too literally the

last days they should have done it a lot

sooner but with all of that being said

we want to go through the process one

thing I will say is that as I understand

it Judge Cavanaugh spent quite a bit of

time with senator Feinstein and it

wasn't even brought up at that meeting

and she had this information so you

would have thought certainly that she

would have brought it up at the meeting

not wait till everything's finished and

then have to start a process all over

again but with all of it being said we

want to go through a full process I have

great confidence in the US Senate and in

their procedures and what they're doing

and I think that's probably what they're

going to do they'll go through a process

and hear everybody out I think it's

important I believe they think it's

important but again he is one of the

great intellects and one of the finest

people that anybody is known you look at

his references I've never seen anything

quite like it

so they'll go through that process and

we'll get it done I don't know it

depends on the process I'd like to see a

complete process I'd like everybody to

be very happy most importantly I want

the American people to be happy because

they're getting somebody that is great I

want him to go in at the absolute

highest level and I think to do that you

have to go through this if it takes a

little delay it'll take a little delay

it shouldn't certainly be very much but

again this is something that should have

been brought up

long before this they had the

information in July as I understand it

that's a long time ago and nobody

mentioned it until the other day it's

very you know it's very unfortunate that

didn't mention it sooner but with all of

that being said it will I'm sure work

out very well you're talking about a an

individual who is as high a quality

individual as you'll ever see I have not

spoken to judge Cavanaugh next question

what a ridiculous question oh I think

he's on track yeah I mean I think he's

very much on track if they delayed a

little bit just to make sure everybody's

happy they want to be happy I can tell

you the Republican senators want to be a

hundred percent happy themselves they're

doing it very very professionally again

this should have been brought up a long

time ago

thank you thank you yeah you're gonna

see it on China today right after close

of business we'll be announcing

something and it will be a lot of money

coming into the coffers of the United

States of America a lot of money coming

in but you'll be seeing what we're doing

right after close of business today the

markets closing thank you

joining me now Mercedes slap white house

director of strategic communications'

Mercedes good evening to you a lots of

strategy and a lot of communicating on

the issue that cropped up over the

course of this weekend tell me what you

can about the meeting that Brett

Kavanaugh had at the White House today

well I can't get into any specifics of

the meeting but I will tell you that

Brett Kavanaugh as we know judge

Kavanaugh has made it very clear that he

believes that this is a completely false

allegation this is something that we

very much stand with Brett Kavanaugh as

a president has mentioned we do want a

thorough process we want to make sure

everything is right when it comes to

what the Senate Judiciary Committee has

agreed upon but with that being said of

course judge Kavanaugh is someone with

impeccable credentials someone who I

know personally Martha someone who I

spent many hours in an office working

through important judicial nominees back

in the day in the Bush administration

and it's someone who I respect greatly

and really is someone that as we know

has a very strong character and of

course should be able to defend his

integrity during this process can you

say that the White House is a hundred

percent committed to seeing the

Kavanaugh nomination through absolutely

we are a hundred percent committed to

standing with Judge Cavanaugh as we know

he is someone who is incredibly

respected in the legal circles someone

who has received bipartisan support from

the legal community someone who had

comes with incredibly strong credentials

is very well respected and let me mean

let me just ask you you know it did the

president speak with him personally

Mercedes know the president has not

spoken with judge Cavanaugh today as we

know judge Cavanaugh has been calling

several senators and the key is

obviously as judge Cavanaugh has said he

was not even aware of who this accuser

was before she had identified herself

this is a completely false allegation

and and it's incredibly disturbing that

senator Feinstein would have brought

this up at the at the last minute

which as we know we've gone through four

days of lengthy public hearings with

judge Cavanaugh they had a closed

session where they were able to talk

about the sensitive topics he had to

respond to over a thousand written

questions and now at the last minute

we're seeing senator Feinstein bringing

this up I just think it's an incredibly

disturbing it's incredibly unfortunate

that now we have to delay this yeah

there's a lot of questions about the

timing and the motivation for all of

this nonetheless in this me too

environment that we are all operating in

now is there concern at the White House

about what a potentially long drawn-out

process might mean politically as you

head into the midterms look the key here

is that we know that the president wants

to throw a process and we're going to

let the Senate Judiciary Committee

proceed with that her voice the accusers

voice should be heard with that being

said I can tell you I stand as someone

who knows Judge Cavanaugh someone who's

known him for over 17 years who've seen

him in a professional setting in a

social setting and he is someone with

utmost the utmost character someone who

is a friend and I just feel that he's

having to go about his character and and

that you've known him a long time we do

know now that the hearing is set for a

week from today from next Monday the

24th I believe of September and it will

be a public hearing so this is going to

turn into you know something we haven't

seen the likes of which since since the

Anita Hill hearings is that something

that this White House has the stomach

for look I think that at the end we know

that becoming the supreme next Supreme

Court justice is such an incredible

responsibility something that Judge

Cavanaugh is ready for the task he has

been open he has been transparent he's

been someone who has a be obviously

already served in administration has

gone through six FBI background checks

has been given over 32 hours of

testimony we know for a fact that the

Democrats from day one have been wanting

to stall this process from day one we

know that the vast majority is Democrats

if not all are saying they're not going

to support Breck yeah but in fact

is a last-minute political tactic by the

Democrats to stall this process we know

that judge Cavanaugh is qualified he's

someone who is incredibly respected he's

been and there's so many of these women

who have known him for a very long we're

about to speak to two of them judge in

just a moment I got to go quit but very

quickly has the White House discussed

any back-up plan if the Cavanaugh

nomination derails about who might know

as the president said he said it earlier

is like that's just or even a ridiculous

thought in terms of making sure that we

are we are very focused on getting judge

Cavanaugh confirmed of course we're

going to let this process go through but

at the end of the day we stand with

judge Cavanaugh we know he's a man of

great character and I'm very proud to

call him my friend

thank you very much Mercedes good to see

you tonight Mercedes shot down the White

House well this is moving forward to a

public hearing just receiving word

within the hour

from Senator Grassley the Committee

Chairman as I said earlier anyone who

comes forward as dr. Ford has done

deserves to be heard my staff has

reached out to dr. Ford to hear her

account and they held a follow-up call

with Judge Cavanaugh this afternoon

unfortunately committee Democrats have

refused to join us in this effort

however to provide ample transparency we

hold we will hold a public hearing

Monday to give these recent allegations

a full airing dr. Ford that he

references is Christine Blasi Ford she

is the accuser who has come out she is a

college professor and she is saying that

she will tell her story publicly up on

Capitol Hill and judge Kavanagh has

pushed back again saying it's all not

true let's bring in our panel Brit Hume

Fox News senior political analyst AV

Stoddard associate editor at

RealClearPolitics Molly Hemingway senior

editor at The Federalist and Christa our

wall politics editor here at Fox News

and author of the new book every man a

king a short colorful history of

American populace that's a great read

thank you sir

thoughts it's gonna be a real goat

roping this is going to be a a

contentious fraught space and the

Democrats have to be cognizant of

overreaching but the Republicans have to

be very cognizant about not

turning off offending people like Susan

Collins people like Lisa Murkowski whose

votes could be affected here and if

they're not seen as being fair and open

and even-handed with this woman with the

accuser that will go very poorly a B

this comes in the context of a midterm

election that is looming obviously

within just a matter of weeks right I

have no idea who to believe and we

without getting into any of that I think

the Democrats you know obviously there

are questions about the senator

Feinstein bringing this up before this

woman came forward and why is that

acceptable and then the Democrats there

was a hearing today that Brett Kavanaugh

was gonna meet with judiciary members or

top staff Democrats so they didn't want

to go why not that said and and the

White House responded I thought very

well today the president and I think

it's very smart that they're having

these open hearings few hours ago we

thought that the Senate majority leader

was resisting this idea and that would

have been a huge mistake that said there

is still time for the Republicans on

that committee or in leadership to mess

this up and if they do not handle I'm

gonna echo what Chris said if they do

not handle this well and give this woman

her due they will face a stampede on

November 6th and possibly a Democratic

Senate and it's just a mistake they

don't want to make it well it looks to

me from what we know now as if

somebody's gonna have to corroborate

their own version of events somehow or

we're gonna end up with it he said she

said and no one will be able to say the

others lying or telling the truth

and lastly - he says here there's

another person that's true that is true

mark judge was a alleged to have been in

the room and he said he didn't remember

anything like that happening so that

would be two against one of course he's

being attacked because he's you know had

alcohol issues through the years so you

can imagine how agree that will get but

if it comes down to that where it's you

know can't be proven or disproven the

last time that happened was the was was

Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas it was

never successfully established that she

was telling the truth or that he was in

denying her allegations of improper

sexual advances to her

and he got confirmed and he got

confirmed I might add by a Senate that

was 56 44 Democrat as opposed to this

one which was narrowly Republican but

they were back in those days Brett as

you know I'm sure there were a lot of

there were a lot of centrist Democrats

there aren't very many of those anymore

Republicans either the red Cavanaugh has

now put out a couple of really vigorous

defense and and denials here he said

this is a completely false allegation

I've never done anything like what the

accuser describes to her or to anyone

because this never happened I had no

idea who was making this accusation

until she identified herself yesterday I

am willing to talk to the Senate

Judiciary Committee in any way the

committee deems appropriate to refute

this allegation from 36 years ago and

defend my integrity now he says he

wasn't even at that party right this is

why in addition to the political

implications I think this is a really

interesting question of whether we want

to be the type of society that handles

disputes in this way this is an

allegation that was made it's at odds

with what a gajillion people have said

about Brett Kavanaugh including women he

dated at the time at the same time this

was alleged to have happened and in

college the way it went down as a be

noted is very curious Dianne Feinstein

chose not to bring it up at any of the

many times she could have done it behind

closed doors when she was talking to him

privately only orchestrating a big

public leak that makes it seem like

she's less interested in justice than

using this as a political cudgel and of

course Democrats began this whole

process by saying they would do

literally whatever it took to stop this

nomination and so I think that there's a

additional question about whether we

think it's appropriate that an

allegation that can be neither proven

nor disproven should be the basis for

determining who goes on the Supreme

Court or whether we should have a much

higher standard for rule of law and how

we handle important things like Supreme

Court nomination here is the Senate

Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on this

woman's credibility

I believe she's credible a lot of my

Republican friends don't what are they

afraid of they afraid that she might be

very persuasive well if she is it's a

whole different ballgame here isn't it

Chris I mentioned with Jonathan Turley

earlier that

it goes down this road and the

nominations pull the wheel Democrats

start impeachment on judge Brett

Kavanaugh because if he's not eligible

as a as they believe a sexual assault

perpetrator for the Supreme Court how is

he eligible for the second highest court

in the land I'm sure they would but

there is a serious consideration for

Democrats politically here that I don't

think they have wrapped their brains

around completely if they did succeed in

getting the cabin on nomination taken

down and there is a vacancy on the

Supreme Court on Election Day and Joe

Manchin and Claire McCaskill will say

come on Schumer like you're not helping

us here nobody more than those red state

Democrats wants this nomination complete

done and moved on from if this lingers

over it has political consequences for

them does this open up though the

possibility that they now have a free

vote to vote against Kavanagh and maybe

they were going to vote yes but now they

don't I've long believed that you'd get

some Democrats if no Republicans broke

I'd still think that's a distinct

possibility if if all the Republicans

stay together and the nominee is thereby

guaranteed to be confirmed

I'm sure Schumer will privately say to

the wavering Democrats that are tougher

reelection fights this year because of

the states they're in you go ahead and

catch the boat you need to take for your

purposes of your reelection but if a

Republican or two cracks I don't think

this nominations gonna be saved by

Democrats I don't think there's a

slightest chance of that thank you

god bless you and God bless america

BREAKING TRUMP FURIOUS AFTER JEFF SESSIONS' DIRTY LITTLE SECRET REVEALED — NOTHING BUT A TRAITOR! - Duration: 13:40.

BREAKING: TRUMP FURIOUS AFTER JEFF SESSIONS' DIRTY LITTLE SECRET REVEALED — NOTHING BUT

A TRAITOR!

There's no question when President Trump is unhappy with the performance of one of

his top administration officials.

Trump reveals all via Twitter, and what he's been telling us for some months now is that

he's none-too-pleased with Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

The president has used social media a number of times to jab Sessions over the latter's

failure to move on from the Russia investigations and on to more substantial matters – like

finally putting Hillary Clinton behind bars.

That whole situation might soon be coming to a head, which means Session's removal

and replacement with someone a LOT tougher.

When it comes to a job like that, there's really only a handful of great options, and

at the top of the list is none other than Rudy Giuliani.

Via 100percentfedup:

Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch better start lawyering up…

President Donald Trump is reportedly thinking about bringing former New York City Mayor

Rudy Giuliani on as his Attorney General, White House sources told Axios on Monday.

Axios' Mike Allen wrote that Trump "has recently pondered the idea of nominating Giuliani"

for the job currently held by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

The news came soon after Trump's latest broadside at the "beleaguered" head of

his Justice Department.

Giuliani is best remembered as one of New York City's greatest mayors.

But before that, he was a tough-as-nails New York City prosecutor.

No doubt, Giuliani would make a fantastic attorney general.

Manafort Flips on Trump; Kavanaugh Accused of Sexual Assault: A Closer Look - Duration: 12:56.

-The President's ex-campaign chairman has flipped on him

and his Supreme Court nominee has been imperiled

by a serious sexual-assault allegation.

For more on this, it's time for "A Closer Look."

[ Cheers and applause ]

-One by one, Trump's closest aides

have turned on him and struck plea deals with prosecutors.

But there was one, who, for months, refused to cave,

and that was his ex-campaign chairman, Paul Manafort.

Manafort went all the way to trial.

And to ensure Manafort's loyalty,

Trump repeatedly praised him.

-I think the whole Manafort trial is very sad

when you look at what's going on there.

I think it's a very sad day for our country.

He worked for me for a very short period of time.

But you know what?

He happens to be a very good person.

Paul Manafort's a good man.

He was with Ronald Reagan.

He was with a lot of different people over the years,

and I feel very sad about that.

It doesn't involve me, but I still feel --

You know, it's a very sad thing that happened.

This has nothing to do with Russian collusion.

-I like how Trump tries to praise Manafort,

but his instinct for self-preservation

keeps leaking through. [ Laughter ]

"Paul is a very good friend, whom I barely know,

and his crimes had nothing to do with me,

his very good friend."

[ Laughter ]

Also, do you only give interviews on tarmacs now?

[ Laughter ]

Trump's strategy for dealing with reporters

is to always be near something louder than him.

"Mr. President, why is everyone around you a criminal?"

"I'm sorry! You'll have to speak up!

I'm making wood chips!"

[ Laughter and applause ]

Gonna catch on soon with Sarah Sanders.

She's gonna give press conferences

while making daiquiris.

[ Laughter ]

"That is not something I've spoken to the President about."

[ Imitates blender motor whirring ]

[ Laughter ]

So there you go -- Trump heaped praise on Manafort,

calling him a brave and wonderful man

who would, under no circumstances, flip.

-Paul Manafort has flipped.

-During an hour-long hearing in federal court,

Manafort pleaded guilty to two felony counts

related to his foreign lobbying.

Even more significantly, he agreed to cooperate

in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's

Russia investigation by providing unspecified documents

and testifying before the grand jury.

-Wow! Your friend just flipped on you.

What do you say to that?

[ Engine whirring loudly ]

I said your friend just flipped on you!

What do you -- Never mind.

[ Laughter and applause ] Pointless.

Pointless.

And Manafort didn't just have to plead guilty

and agree to cooperate.

He also had to give up his lavish lifestyle,

including an apartment

in Donald Trump's most famous building.

-As part of his punishment, Manafort agreed to forfeit

bank accounts, life insurance, and several properties,

including his apartment in Trump Tower.

-You know what the best burn would be?

The best burn would be

if Robert Mueller took the apartment.

[ Laughter ]

If Mueller moved in, he would be the kind of tenant Trump hates.

"Hey, the guy in 4C went through the recycling again.

He says your mixing your paper and your plastic."

"I hate that guy so much."

[ Laughter ]

For the prosecution, there was maybe no one

more valuable than Manafort.

He knows as much about what happened in 2016 as anyone.

For example, he was actually in

that infamous Trump Tower meeting

with the Russians in 2016.

And he seems to know a lot about Trump's finances

and connections to Russians.

As you can tell from this clip, from the 2016 campaign,

which is truly one of our favorites.

-So to be clear, Mr. Trump has no financial relationships

with any Russian oligarchs?

-That's what he said. I -- I -- That's what I said.

That's obviously what the -- our position is.

-How was that guy a successful criminal for so long?!

[ Laughter and applause ]

I mean, that was one.

He got one question about Trump's finances,

and he broke down

like a malfunctioning Chuck E. Cheese robot.

[ Laughter and applause ]

"Uh, that -- that's what he said.

That's -- That -- That's what he --

That's what I -- Happy birthday to yo--

Ha-Ha-Ha-Happy birth-- Buh-uuh-buuh!"

[ Laughter and applause ]

"Mom, the mouse is smoking!"

[ Laughter ]

So, for months now, the screws have been tightening on Trump,

but he seemed to have one last ace in the hole --

his Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.

If Kavanaugh makes it onto the court,

he could very well rule on key aspects of Trump's case.

And Kavanaugh has been a loyal, partisan Republican

whose views on executive power

could not be friendlier to Trump.

Throughout his confirmation hearings,

Kavanaugh has refused to take positions on legal issues

that could be crucial to Trump's survival.

-Trump claims he has an absolute right to pardon himself.

Does he?

-The question of self-pardons is something I've never analyzed.

-Can a sitting President

be required to respond to a subpoena?

-So that's a hypothetical question.

-Should a president use his or her authority

to pressure executive or independent agency officials

into carrying out directives for purely political purposes?

-I need to stay not just away from the line

but three ZIP codes away from the line

of current events or politics.

-Hey, you don't get to stay

three ZIP codes away from Donald Trump.

Some of us are entire states away

and we can still hear him

screaming over the sound of a jet engine.

[ Laughter ]

Also, nothing says you're not from New York

more than thinking three ZIP codes away is a large distance.

[ Laughter ]

In New York, three ZIP codes is like two Starbucks away.

[ Laughter ]

Now, when this process started,

it seemed to many like Kavanaugh would sail through,

given that Republicans control the Senate.

But then, last week, Senate Democrats disclosed

that they had referred a complaint regarding Kavanaugh

to the FBI for investigation.

Kavanaugh denied it,

and Republicans responded by rushing to defend him.

-65 women stepping forward to defend

President Trump's Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

-Right after we saw these allegations came out,

we heard from 65 women defending him in a letter

to Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley

and Senator Feinstein.

So this was immediate response.

-You know what's a little incriminating?

If you're accused of sexual assault

and you just happen to have on hand

a list of other women you didn't sexually assault.

[ Laughter ]

If the cops come to your house

and say they want to ask you about a murder,

and you come to the door with a list of people

you didn't murder... [ Laughter ]

...you'll still be a suspect in that murder.

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

"Every one of these people is alive."

Alive, alive, alive, alive.

And yet despite the seriousness of these allegations,

Republicans and right-wing pundits

immediately went on the offensive.

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, for example,

attacked California Senator Dianne Feinstein

for keeping the complaint confidential,

at the woman's request,

and implied that she might not even be a real person.

-When you get the letter,

what do you do to make sure it's real?

That the person is even real?

Given the left's penchant to buy fake dossiers,

make up facts, and collude with the media

to sabotage even the president of the United States,

forgive me if I think it's all hogwash.

Why would you wait to even send it to the FBI?

Is it because nothing in you and your pack of demon rats --

that's what I said, demon rats --

a.k.a. Democrats bag of tricks, was working against Kavanaugh?

-Jeanine, you don't have to clarify

that you said "demon rats."

[ Laughter ]

You look and sound like a person

who uses "demon rats" all the time.

[ Laughter ]

If your delivery guy was five minutes late,

I'm pretty sure you'd call him a demon rat.

[ Laughter ]

"When I order my egg rolls..."

[ Laughter and applause ]

"...I want them when they're hot!"

[ Cheers and applause ]

Also, you're calling Democrats demon rats?

Have you seen the guys who work in this White House?

I'm pretty sure Stephen Miller is a demon who eats rats.

[ Laughter and applause ]

If you check the White House fridge,

his lunch looks like this.

[ Laughter and applause ]

And then there was Louisiana Senator John Kennedy,

who was asked about the allegations

and chose to complain about the way Democrats have behaved

throughout Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings.

-What do you make of this allegation against Kavanaugh

back when he was a teenager?

Do you think it'll do anything

to derail his nomination, his confirmation?

-I'm fairly confident that our Founding Fathers

did not intend the process to work this way.

So far, it's pretty much been an intergalactic freak show.

-Excuse me. Have you seen the guy you voted for?

Talk about an intergalactic freak show.

Trump looks like an extra

from the waiting-room scene in "Beetlejuice."

[ Laughter and applause ]

Then, yesterday -- yesterday, the author of the letter,

Christine Blasey Ford, came forward

and spoke on the record to "The Washington Post."

She provided therapist notes from 2012

to corroborate her story, making clear

that the allegations are, indeed, credible.

And again, the right tried to discredit her

or ignore the allegations altogether.

Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee

released a statement, calling them "uncorroborated allegations

from more than 35 years ago, during high school."

And when a reporter tracked down Maine Senator Susan Collins

in the D.C. airport, she wouldn't say

if Kavanaugh's hearing should be delayed.

In fact, she wouldn't even stop walking.

-Well, I obviously was very surprised.

And, uh, it's -- it's an issue that I brought up with him

last Friday, and he denied,

as he did in his written statement.

That's really all I have to say at this point.

-What do you think?

should the committee vote coming up here this week?

-I'm going to be talking with my colleagues,

but I really don't have anything to add at this point.

-Do you believe the accuser?

-I don't know enough to make a judgment at this point.

-She really covered some ground in that interview.

[ Laughter ]

If that was New York, she would have walked through

three [bleep] ZIP codes.

[ Laughter and applause ]

Now, Republicans are really getting desperate

to avoid reporters.

Mitch McConnell actually flies inside his checked luggage now.

[ Laughter ]

And, generally speaking, when you're running away

from a reporter asking you about sexual-assault allegations,

you're on the wrong side of history.

And this isn't even the first entry in this genre.

Last year, Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks literally

ran down a flight of stairs as a reporter chased after him,

asking about the allegations

against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.

-"Aww, why'd I wear my tap shoes?!"

[ Laughter ]

"Of all the days to wear my tap shoes."

[ Applause ]

Seriously, at this point, news networks are gonna

just have to start hiring faster journalists.

[ Laughter and applause ]

And then, there were the Republicans who made clear

that they were eager to believe Kavanaugh and dismissed Ford.

Today, for example, after one phone call with Kavanaugh,

Utah Senator Orrin Hatch said he believed Ford

had gotten her story wrong.

-I talked to him on the phone today.

-And what did he say to you?

-Well, he didn't do that.

That he wasn't at the party.

So, you know, there's clearly -- somebody's mixed up.

-She was mixed up?

You literally once tried to take

an invisible pair of glasses off your face during a hearing.

[ Laughter and applause ]

Now, late today, it was reported

that Kavanaugh and Ford will testify in public next week.

Republicans should honor her courage,

take her allegations seriously, and stop dismissing her,

because right now, if you ask them

if they still stand behind Kavanaugh, they say...

-I -- That's what I said --

That's obviously what the -- our position is.

-This has been "A Closer Look."

Will Donald Trump's War KILL Dropshipping & Amazon?! (Why Chinese Products Are So Cheap) - Duration: 10:54.

Hey guys, so today we're going to be talking about something that is very, very important

for online sellers and small business, and that is the ongoing trade war between China

and the United States.

Trade wars aren't so bad.

Well, understandably not all Wholesale Ted subscribers are sure they agree.

I've recently received a lot of comments from sellers and viewers who were quite scared

about what's going on, and want to know if this will impact or kill their businesses.

You see, for those of you that don't know, there has been an ongoing trade war this year

between the USA and China.

So a trade where is where country A increases the tariffs on imports from country B, and

so in retaliation, country B increases the tariffs, IE the import taxes of country A's

items that they buy from them that are important to their country, and this back and forth

retaliation is a trade war.

And this is exactly what has been happening between China and the USA.

On June 15th, Donald Trump declared in a short statement that the United States would impose

a huge 25% tariff on $50 billion worth of Chinese imported goods, in response to unfair

trading practices.

A lot of online sellers were quite scared at this announcement, because a 25% tariff

would be more than enough to kill the profit margins for many online seller, and thus potentially

kill their businesses.

In addition, Trump also announced that if China retaliated with their own tariffs, that

the USA would impose 10% tariffs on an additional $200 billion worth of Chinese imported goods.

Well, China did respond pretty much immediately, and they ended up imposing their own similar

tariffs on USA imported goods.

And thus China and the USA are now locked in an economic battle.

Most of my subscribers here at WholeSale Ted either own or are starting online businesses

and stores like drop shipping, and Amazon FBA, private labeling business that rely on

importing goods from China.

And so of course the question here is, what does this mean for you as an online seller?

Is Donald Trump's trade war going to kill your business?

Let's find out.

So let me ask you a question, why do you think it is cheaper for you to import your products

all the way from China into the United States, rather than just working with USA based manufacturers

and suppliers?

A lot of people think that the reason why is because China uses cheap slave labor.

Child labor included, to manufacture its goods.

And while it is true that there are still some factories in China that have very poor

working conditions, but in general the working conditions in China have massively improved.

You see, when most people think of Chinese factories, they think of the hellish conditions

that existed in the '90s.

Take the Pill River Delta region of China, it has a lot of factories that produce toys.

They even produce toys for some of the biggest brands in the world, including Disney.

Back in the '90s and early 2000s, every year, more than 40,000 workers from these toy factories

would break or even lose fingers on the production line and really nobody cared.

But since 2008, things have been drastically changing.

With the introduction of sweeping labor reforms that have been designed to protect the rights

of the workers.

As a result, the cost of labor in China have gone up a lot, yet it's still usually way

cheaper for online sellers like drop shippers, and Amazon private labelers to source their

products from China, even with the expensive shipping costs.

So how can that be?

Well it's not because they're cheating with rampant child labor.

An unfair leftover stereotype, perhaps the biggest reason is because of the belt road

initiative.

The belt road initiative is China's ongoing development strategy to create roads, train

tracks, and shipping ports to connect it to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

The silk road economic belt is a series of six land corridors that will contain roads

and train tracks to connect China to a slew of countries, all the way over to the UK.

And that's not all.

They also have the maritime silk road that they are building.

This is a series of shipping ports that will connect the South China Sea all the way to

Africa.

China officially announced this development strategy in 2013.

But the reality is that they've actually been massively investing in this trade network

and infrastructure since the 1980s.

In the '90s and the 2000s, China invested 9% of its GDP into infrastructure.

Whereas most western countries invested just two to 4%.

And some of the ways that they've been building this network have been pretty controversial

to say the least.

What China has done is it has offered large loans with a relatively few barriers to countries

that normally would be considered too risky to loan money to.

Like Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is a risky country to loan money to, because corruption level and political

instability are so high.

So if you loan money to them, you're probably not going to get it back.

But China doesn't mind this, in fact they welcome it, because what it lets them do is

use that debt to further their belt road initiative.

As a result of not being able to pay back the debt that they had racked up to China,

which was over $8 billion, the Sri Lankan government made a deal with China.

They would give them a 70% stake, and a 99 year lease of their shipping port, Hambantota,

which had been built of course with the money that they had initially borrowed from China.

Not only has it made it cheaper and easier for China to export its goods around the world,

it's also made it cheaper and easier for China to import key raw materials, like oil and

iron ore.

They then take those raw materials, and turn them into goods, and export them back out

again.

Sri Lanka gets a new port, and China kind of gets one as well.

Other people view this quite differently though, and have called it the China debt trap.

This channel is politically neutral, I don't talk about my political opinions on it, however

as this is quite a controversial topic, the comments section is free game.

So feel free to sound off on your opinion in it.

But not matter what your opinion is on China's plan, it has undeniably had a massive impact

on their position in the world when it comes to manufacturing and trade.

Even though the United States is not connected to this economic silk road, this massive infrastructure

network has dramatically lowered the cost of producing goods.

Which is why we all import items from China.

If China's huge trade network sounds incredibly intimidating, as in so intimidating that the

idea of trying to compete against them seems insane, you would be right.

And the United States government would agree with you, in fact Donald Trump would agree

with you, and this is why most online sellers don't have to be worried about this ongoing

trade war.

You go to a mall, you go to K Mart, you go to Wal Mart, you go to Target, what do you

see?

Chinese goods, Chinese goods everywhere.

China has built the common goods empire, they are the undisputed king when it comes to producing

common, every day goods, like this little vegetable slicer, or this avocado slicer.

In fact if you look at the top products that the USA imported from China, you'll quickly

see that yes, the top categories include common, every day goods that average people buy, like

electronics and clothing.

And of course it's these types of items like kitchenware, clothing, and little electronics

that most online sellers like Amazon, FBA private labelers, and drop shippers resell.

Well you know what?

Donald Trump does not want to be competing with China over these types of items, he doesn't

want American factories to be producing their own avocado slicers, no.

What he and the American government are interested in doing is competing with China when it comes

to high tech goods.

You see China may have built the common goods empire, you go to a mall and you struggle

to find anything that they haven't produced.

But in high tech fields like robotics, aerospace, automobiles, and especially in pharmaceutical

products, they are dominated by other countries, including the United States.

But China has announced that they want to change that, with their 2025 plan, which outlines

their strategy for moving in and taking a slice of these industries for themselves.

And this is what the United States is warring with China about.

This is what Donald Trump's tariffs are all about.

They're not about the small types of items that most online sellers sell.

In fact, remember at the start of the video, where I talked about how the United States

has implemented a 25% tariff on over $50 billion worth of Chinese imports?

Well, let's take a look at the products that did get slapped with a tariff.

If you don't recognize half of what's on this list, then you would be well forgiven.

That's because the vast majority of products on here are either raw materials, or industrial

goods that are used in those high tech industries.

These types of items that most people are importing and selling on Amazon FBA warehouses,

these are not on the list at all.

The same goes for all express items.

Donald Trump could care less that you're importing and selling a self stir mug from China, and

besides, for import packages to be eligible for tariffs, their value needs to exceed $800.

So as most drop shippers are importing packages that are worth less than $50, there is really

no concern for drop shippers at all.

But what about those $200 billion worth of Chinese goods that Trump threatened to target

in retaliation?

Will we be impacted by that?

The answer is that it's extremely unlikely that you would be.

I've gone through the 200 page document outlining all the products that would be targeted.

The vast, vast majority of products on this list are either related to high tech fields,

raw materials, or food, and food is another controversial area for the USA and China when

it comes to trade.

Now there were actually a few common good items that were on the list that might impact

a hand full of sellers, but as expected, the vast, vast, vast majority of common goods

were not targeted.

With this video, I didn't just want to come out and be like, oh hey look, most of the

items that we're selling aren't on the tariff list.

Don't worry about it.

No, with this video, what I really wanted to do was I wanted to explain the situation

so that if the trade war escalates between China and the USA, you don't need to worry

because you know that your types of goods are not being targeted.

Because it's not common goods like this that are being targeted, Donald Trump does not

want America to start making their own avocado slicers.

He is more than happy for America to keep importing them.
