Trump news on Youtube Aug 29 2018

A leading U.S. daily is reporting that a top North Korean official sent a secret letter

to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that caused President Trump to cancel Pompeo's

trip to Pyongyang.

Lee Ji-won reports.

President Donald Trump's decision to call off his Secretary of State's fourth visit

to North Korea... seems to have been prompted by a letter from Pyongyang.

An opinion piece in the Washington Post Monday said the decision to cancel Pompeo's trip

came just hours after the Secretary received a "secret letter" last Friday from North Korea's

Vice Chairman of the Workers' Party's Central Committee, Kim Yong-chol.

The article cited two senior White House officials as saying the letter was belligerent enough

that President Trump and Secretary Pompeo were convinced the planned visit would not

be successful.

Trump tweeted that the trip was canceled because of a lack of progress on the denuclearization

of the Korean Peninsula.

The article in the Post said the letter was in response to the latest one from Trump,

in which he urged North Korea to take more concrete actions on denuclearization and warned

against backsliding.

While the officials declined to say how North Korea delivered the letter, the article said

that North Korea has been increasingly using its UN mission.

It also said Secretary Pompeo's fourth visit to Pyongyang, slated for this week, was to

negotiate a step-for-step deal.

The regime has been asking the U.S. to declare an end to the Korean War, while the Trump

administration has been asking Pyongyang for a declaration of its nuclear and missile programs

and assets.

But despite the historic North Korea-U.S. summit in June and the follow up meetings,

there has been no significant progress made on denuclearizing.

And Trump acknowledged the lack of progress in these talks for the first time in that

tweet.

The ball has now been tossed to North Korea, and many say the regime's next move could

result in even more sanctions if it doesn't satisfy President Trump.

Trump Catches White House Leaker – Announces Identity

BREAKING NEWS: Ever since President Donald Trump took office, his White House has been

plagued by a series of leaks.

Now, Trump is taking action to plug these leaks once and for all.

Right Wing News reported that sources say that White House Legislative Director Marc

Short is getting ready to leave Trump's White House any day now.

Insiders say that Short has been complaining of the so-called "diminishing returns"

of advocating for President Trump's legislative agenda on Capitol Hill, and that he has leaked

to others how terrible he thinks his job is.

The Washington Post's Josh Dawsey took to Twitter on Thursday to say that White House

officials say that Short will be out the door before the November elections.

"White House legislative affairs director Marc Short is expected to leave long before

the midterms, per WH officials.

Unclear exactly when," Dawsey tweeted.

It is believed that Short may be replaced by Shahira Knight, who is currently the deputy

director of the National Economic Council.

A source close to the situation said that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly talked

to Knight about the job and she expressed her interest.

Short has been one of the longest lasting members of Trump's White House, as he has

been there since January of 2017.

Prior to that, Short worked with Vice President Mike Pence during the 2016 campaign.

This comes after the Department of Justice caught senate aide James Wolfe leaking classified

information to the media.

"It's very interesting that they caught a leaker — it's a very important leaker,"

Trump said, according to Breitbart.

The president added that he is still getting information about what happened.

"It could be a terrific thing," he added as he left the White House to head to Canada

for the G7 summit.

Trump explained that though he supports freedom of the press, it was wrong of Wolfe to leak

classified information.

"I think you have a double edge," Trump said to reporters.

"You cannot leak classified information.

At the same time, we need freedom of the press."

After Jerry Brown Disobeys Trump's Direct Order, Donald Swings The Hammer Hard - Duration: 5:41.

After Jerry Brown Disobeys Trump's Direct Order, Donald Swings The Hammer Hard

Jerry Brown has made many questionable decisions during his time as Governor in California.

His state is often criticized for some of the things they do such as attempting to ban

plastic straws and reducing the criminality of purposely giving someone HIV.

With people like Maxine Waters working in the 43rd district and parts of California

being smeared in feces and needles, it's no wonder the massive west coast state is

the center of yet another controversy.

President Donald Trump and the U.S. Treasury Department are putting the foot down on California.

No more cutting corners or finding loopholes for them!

It appears that California was trying to avoid the new $10,000 limit on state and local tax

deductions.

They were attempting this by claiming taxes are charitable donations.

Not so fast, said the government!

Trump originally promised that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act would have a tax-reform package

that cut some of the tax burdens for the average family of four who earns $75,000, cutting

the burden of taxes by a reported $2,000.

It also was supposed to increase the household income by about $4,000 through various cuts

on business.

The business corporate tax rate was 35%, but then slashed down to 21%, allowing companies

to invest more income on their product and employees.

Breitbart reported further, stating:

"To fund part of the resulting revenue loss, the Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives

limited federal deductions for state and local taxes (SALT) to $10,000 for the first time.

The move hammered high income tax-payers in Democrat-dominated high-tax blue states like

California, Illinois, New York and New Jersey.

According to the Tax Policy Institute, the first-time ever cap on SALT deductions was

expected to generate $36.1 billion more in federal tax collections in 2018.

But the pain to high-income tax-payers in California and the other so-called "deep-blue"

states doubles to $74.5 billion in 2021 and almost triples to $100.4 billion by 2025.

Four days after Trump's tax reform took effect on January 1, then-State Senate leader

Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) proposed "SB-227 Education finance: Local Schools and Colleges

Voluntary Contribution Fund" to allow any Californian that had more than $10,000 in

state and local tax deductions to make a dollar-for-dollar charitable donation to the "California Excellence

Fund" for a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit to avoid the SALT limits.

De Leon, who is running for U.S. Senate, tried to justify draining federal taxes to the San

Jose Mercury News: "The Republican tax plan gives corporations and hedge-fund managers

a trillion-dollar tax cut and expects California taxpayers to foot the bill," He added, "We

won't allow California residents to be the casualty of this disastrous tax scheme."

Although federal law allows charitable deductions for over-payment of taxes to those each year

that want to donate to help pay down public debt or maintain a park under IRC § 170,

the contributions must be "solely for public purposes."

But Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin released a statement on August 23 indicating that California's

"charity" was a scheme to avoid paying federal taxes: "Congress limited the deduction

for state and local taxes that predominantly benefited high-income earners to help pay

for major tax cuts for American families."

He added, "The proposed rule will uphold that limitation by preventing attempts to

convert tax payments into charitable contributions."

The new U.S. Treasury-proposed rule, according to The Hill, would only allow taxpayers to

claim the federal charitable deduction under "quid pro quo" guidelines for the amount

of donations that exceeds the amount they received in tax credits.

As an example, if the taxpayer donated $1,000 to the California SB-227 state charity and

received a 50 percent state tax credit, the taxpayer would only be able to claim a federal

charitable deduction of $500, according to the Treasury Secretary.

Mnuchin emphasized that the Treasury Department has projected that 90 percent of U.S. taxpayers

that do not file tax returns with standard deductions will not be impacted by the SALT

limits.

The 5 percent of U.S. taxpayers who file itemized returns with income tax deductions above the

$10,000 will be unable to exploit the charitable deduction to avoid the SALT cap."

If people want to keep talking about the taxes, then let them.

As long as people play by the rules and businesses invest in their employees, then the working

Americans will benefit.

If Trump cuts the tax rates from 35% to 21%, then that's amazing and gives businesses

14% of their income back to their company.

That was money that was taken by the government, proving that taxation is indeed theft.

There's no reason why a large business should ever pay more than a third in taxes.

In fact, no one should.

If you live in a Democrat-controlled city, then what are your taxes like?

Does your mayor tax you like crazy?

Mine does.

Philadelphia's Mayor Kenney seems like he taxes his own taxes sometimes.

We have a sugary drink tax in Philadelphia that has put people nearly out of business,

hurting the small business owners who run corner stores in the city.

We can't complain that taxation is theft and then not be happy with a 35% to 21% tax

break.

Anyone who isn't happy with that might need to rethink their train of thought.

Getting back 14% more of your income means you can spend less time finding loopholes

and more time improving your business.

Crazed Trump Spent His Weekend "Calling People And Screaming" Report Says - Duration: 2:43.

According to a report by Vanity Fair's Gabriel Sherman, someone who has had some pretty spot

on reporting about what's happening in the White House, he's got some excellent sources

in there.

But according to a recent report from him, Donald Trump spent this past weekend screaming

at people over the phone.

Now that is according to one of Sherman's sources who is a former White House official.

Said that Donald Trump was very subdued in public, he was still upset that nobody cared

about his West Virginia rally earlier in the week.

Didn't mention much about Manafort or Cohen in public, but then when he got back to the

White House this past weekend, everything was kind of quiet.

The source claims that "Trump was just picking up the phone, calling people and screaming."

That was the exact quote.

So we don't know exactly if he was calling people that involved in any of this or if

he was just calling random people.

I mean, hell we know he likes to pick up the phone and just call other world leaders, all

times of day, no matter what time it is in their time zone.

So we have no idea who this madman may have been calling and screaming at because his

entire world is falling apart.

But this isn't about just Donald Trump just randomly screaming at people over the phone.

This is about the fact that he is obviously terrified about what's happening to his administration

and to his legacy.

He understands that the Manafort verdict, eight counts guilty, that that's going to

hurt him.

Even if it had nothing to do with him in the trial.

Cohen on the other hand, implicated him in a felony, two felonies actually.

Which technically then implicates him in an unspoken third felony of failure to disclose.

So that's probably the one he's a little bit more pissed off about.

And according to Sherman as well, he's still talking about possibly pardoning Manafort,

which White House counselor Don McGhan had to go in and tell him why that's such a horrible

idea.

Donald trump has no way out at this point.

All he can do is scream and bark in the dark, knowing that nobody is coming to save him.

He not only hitched his wagon to some of the most corrupt people in this country, he also

happened to hire the most incompetent lawyers ever to pass the bar in the United States.

So he has no help, he no hope, he doesn't know what to do.

So he's doing what he always does.

Throwing a major temper tantrum when things don't go his way.

Not gonna work this time.

Citing Trump Admin's Hostility Towards Students, Loan Watchdog Resigns - Duration: 3:28.

Yesterday it was announced that Seth Frotman, the student loan ombudsman at the Consumer

Financial Protection Bureau would be stepping down, resigning his position at the end of

this week.

And the reason Frotman decided that he could no longer work with the CFPB is because they

have made it clear that they do not care about the student loan debt crisis in the United

States and that they don't care about the predatory lenders who are preying on students

just trying to get a quality education.

Frotman said that his division has been basically absorbed by another part of the CFPB, they

have had their regulatory oversight reduced basically to the point of not being able to

protect students from some of these predatory lenders.

The CFPB, under Mick Mulvaney, has also been working to allow for profit colleges, even

those that basically take all your money for four years and leave you with a degree that's

completely worthless, that those people can enter back into the game and scam students

left and right without them having any recourse.

Those are the reasons that Frotman has decided to step down from his office.

Now let's talk about how bad this problem actually is.

Right now there's about one and half trillion dollars worth of student loan debt being held

by people in the United States.

One and a half trillion dollars just in student loan debt.

And this guy, Seth Frotman, it was his job to kind of protect those people and now he's

gone because he couldn't do his job.

The Administration made it clear that they didn't want him to do his job.

So what's going to happen is he's either going to be replaced with somebody who's wholly

in the pocket of the big banks like Mick Mulvaney who's currently running the CFPB or we're

going to get another person in there who does care about the issue only to find out that

they also can not do anything to protect students here in the United States.

The Trump Administration has made it clear that they hate the Consumer Financial Protection

Bureau.

Republicans, since the day this organization was created, have made it clear that they

hate it but it is one of the most vital parts of our government even if it is one of the

newest.

It came about because of all the financial crimes, and yes they were crimes, being committed

by the biggest banks here in the United States and now they're being neutered.

They're being gutted, they're having their funding slashed.

Mulvaney, at one point this year, actually requested zero dollars in funding.

He believes that his agency just has too darn much power and Congress needs to take some

of it away.

This is not how you protect American consumers.

This is how you protect big banks.

Big banks were still engaging in the same kind of criminal conduct that led us into

the Recession of 2007 and 2008.

They're doing it again because the groups that we created to basically make sure they

weren't doing it, like the CFPB, have been completely stripped of their power and are

being run by corporate political puppets like Mick Mulvaney.

Democrats Play It Smart, Run On ISSUES Instead Of Hating Trump - Duration: 3:25.

Republicans continue to try to get Democrats to fall into an impeachment trap.

So far, Democrats on the campaign trail have been smart enough to not fall into it.

See, Republicans believe right now that if Democrats are out there preaching about impeachment

and saying that as soon as you elect me, I'm going to impeach the president, that it's

going to turn off moderate voters and make them go vote Republican, allowing them to

keep the House of Representatives.

But Democrats, to their credit, seem to have finally learned something.

They know that about half the country at this point, may be a little higher right now, would

actually support impeaching the president.

I mean, we certainly have plenty of evidence.

We could go forward with it, and it'd be a flimsy case right now, but it could go either

way.

But Democrats aren't out there talking about it.

Most of them aren't, at least.

The good ones aren't, because they understand that if you want to beat the Trump Republicans,

you have to talk about the issues.

In 2014, Democrats didn't talk about the issues.

In 2016, Democrats didn't talk about the issues.

Analysis of Hillary Clinton's ads and speeches showed that she only actually mentioned issues

25% of the time.

When people say, "I had no idea what Hillary Clinton stood for," that's why.

She wasn't talking about it.

She wasn't talking about student loan debt or health care or things like that.

She was out there talking about how horrible Donald Trump was.

All of it was true, but people wanted to hear about the issues.

Democrats seem to have taken that message from their 2016 defeat, and they're now applying

it to the 2018 midterms, because they understand what's at stake.

They know that impeachment is 100% on the table if they take back the House of Representatives.

But they're not going to go out there and campaign on that, because people want to hear

about what's happening in the country, the pocketbook issues, health care, student loan

debt, Medicare for all, Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, the things the Republicans are trying

to cut.

They want solutions to that.

If Democrats want to win back the House and possibly even the Senate, they know that they

have to go out there and talk about those things.

Even when people like those on Fox News are pressing them about whether or not they want

to impeach the president, they're avoiding even talking about it, saying things like,

"I want to talk about the issues.

I want to talk about health care.

I want to talk about anything other than impeachment."

That is smart.

They may all be thinking it.

I think it's safe to say most of them are thinking it and probably planning on it, but

if you want to win over the hearts and minds of the American voters, you're not going to

do it by promising to get rid of the horrible guy and putting the other horrible guy into

the oval office.

You're going to do it by proving to them that you're actually on their side and that you're

taking up and caring about and fixing the issues that they want fixed.

Democrats are doing that now for the first time in a long time, and so far, seems to

be working pretty well for them.

Fed Up Trump Goes Rogue – UNLEASHES HELL On Jeff Sessions - Duration: 12:37.

Fed-Up Trump Goes Rogue – UNLEASHES HELL On Jeff Sessions

Tensions between Donald Trump and Jeff Sessions reached a boiling point on Tuesday when the

president took to Twitter to blame his attorney general for the fact that Robert Mueller's

investigation into his alleged collusion with Russia is still ongoing.

The Washington Post reported that Trump indicated that he believes that if Sessions had not

recused himself from the investigation, the probe would have ended long ago.

"The Russian Witch Hunt Hoax continues, all because Jeff Sessions didn't tell me

he was going to recuse himself," Trump said in the tweet.

"I would have quickly picked someone else.

So much time and money wasted, so many lives ruined…and Sessions knew better than most

that there was No Collusion!"

Once Sessions recused himself, the role of supervising the investigation went to his

deputy Rod J. Rosenstein, after he was confirmed to the No. 2 post in the Justice Department.

It was Rosenstein who appointed Mueller to lead the investigation in May of 2017.

Trump confronted Sessions immediately after he recused himself in March of 2017, and the

attorney general responded to him by saying that undoing the recusal would do more harm

than good.

Those close to Sessions say that he felt that he had no choice but to recuse himself given

the role he had in Trump's presidential campaign.

This comes a week after Trump admitted on Twitter that he wishes he had picked someone

other than Sessions to be his attorney general.

Congress Just Did What Trump Couldn't – Jeff Sessions Is DONE - Duration: 10:56.

Congress Just Did What Trump Couldn't – Jeff Sessions Is DONE

GOP lawmakers have had enough of Attorney General Jeff Sessions' nonsense, so they

are finally taking action against him.

The Gateway Pundit reported that Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-NC) and his fellow

GOP Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) are giving Sessions' Department of Justice seven days to turn over

the documents that they owe to Congress.

Jordan announced on Wednesday afternoon that he is teaming Meadows to introduce a resolution

that would give the DOJ one week to comply.

"Mark Meadows and I are introducing a resolution that would give the DOJ seven days to turn

over the documents that they owe Congress.

We need to vote on this immediately," Jordan announced on Twitter.

Jordan then called out Sessions' Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

"Rod Rosenstein threatened congressional staff.

When the bully picks on your little brother, you have to respond.

It's time for House Leadership to stand up," Jordan tweeted.

This will also send a brutal message to Sessions, who has defended Rosenstein by saying that

he does not believe he actually threatened staffers.

On Tuesday night, after hearing that Sessions defended his deputy attorney general, Meadows

said that he is "confident" Sessions didn't know "what he was talking about."

"We're fed up with it," Meadows said.

Republicans have clearly had enough of Sessions, and with even President Donald Trump turning

against him, it seems like his days in the Department of Justice may be numbered!

Donald Trump Goes Rogue – Drops Nuke On Obama In Front Of Entire Nation - Duration: 10:46.

Donald Trump Goes Rogue – Drops Nuke On Obama In Front Of Entire Nation

President Donald Trump spoke out to slam Barack Obama on Thursday, saying that the former

president "paid $1.8 billion" for the release of five U.S. citizens detained in

Iran, versus Trump winning the release of three Americans in North Korea for "nothing."

"In all fairness, Obama, President Obama … paid $1.8 billion for hostages," Trump

said at a campaign rally in Indiana as the crowd booed his predecessor.

"I think that Kim Jong Un, Kim Jong Un did a great service to himself and his country

by doing this.

But those hostages came out with respect.

We didn't pay for them."

The Washington Examiner reported that Trump blasted Obama's Iran deal repeatedly during

his speech on Thursday days after he withdrew the U.S. from the multinational pact.

Obama released an unprecedented statement earlier in the week blasting this decision,

saying that Trump made "a serious mistake" and offering a near point-by-point refutation

of Trump's claims about the deal.

"We're not going to be walked into an Iran deal" with North Korea, Trump assured

the crowd during the Thursday rally.

"We're going to set the table, we're going to make a great deal for the world — for

North Korea, for South Korea, for Japan, for China," Trump continued.

"So what he did was the right thing, but they came out for nothing and the others came

out for $1.8 billion in cash.

Can you believe that?"

Trump went on to say that the release of the hostages by North Korea was a sign our relationship

with them is improving.

"The relationship is good, and hopefully, I mean for all of us — for the world — hopefully

something very good is going to happen," Trump said of his upcoming meeting with Kim.

"It's important for them, important for everybody.

I think it's going to be a very big success."
