Trump news on Youtube Aug 25 2018

It seems President Trump's excitement about the U.S.-North

Korea relationship is waning a bit. In a series of tweets

Friday, Trump said he asked Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

to cancel his upcoming trip to the reclusive country. Trump

said he feels, "we are not making sufficient progress with

respect to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula." He

also threw some shade at China, alleging they are not helping

with the process. News broke of Pompeo's upcoming trip on

Thursday. He was set to travel with Steve Biegun, the new

special representative for North Korea. It's unclear whether

Beigun will still make the trip. But Trump hasn't completely

changed his tune. He also tweeted his QUOTE "warmest

regards and respect to Chairman Kim" and said he looks forward

to seeing the North Korean leader soon.

CNN Thought They Convicted Trump Of A Crime But They Got Some Very Bad News

Michael Cohen rocked America when he claimed he had evidence Trump colluded with the Russians.

Anti-Trump reporters jumped for joy.

However, within 24 hours, CNN got some very bad news.

CNN's Bombshell Story Collapses CNN broke a bombshell story that Michael Cohen

had revealed that Donald Trump knew about the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting.

Donald Trump Jr. had met with some Russians who were promising dirt on Hillary Clinton.

But the Russians lied about having dirt on Hillary.

Their real purpose of the meeting was to lobby the Trump campaign on repealing U.S. sanctions

on Russian adoption.

Cohen's testimony meant Donald Trump Jr. committed perjury when he testified that Donald

Trump did not know about the meeting in advance.

The story collapsed.

In two CNN interviews, Cohen's attorney Lanny Davis stated there were errors with

the reporting.

Davis told John Berman, "We take a good amount of responsibility under the difficulties

of facing a criminal investigation and not being able to explain or correct or straighten

things out that there is some truth to the news reporting, but we weren't able to do

anything further in the middle of a criminal investigation, and now in the middle of waiting

to cooperate with Mr. Mueller,"

Davis told CNN's Don Lemon, "There was a certain complication in the middle of that

story that we were not able to correct."

The former Bill Clinton associate also informed Lemon that Cohen had information that may

be useful to Mueller.

"But I do know…that Michael Cohen has information that would be of interest to Mr.

Mueller," Davis stated.

Davis stated that Cohen's information could help Mueller, but concluded, "I won't

call it smoking gun information."

Cohen's attorney finished by saying others can judge the importance of what Cohen knows.

Davis retreated from the original reporting because Cohen told Congress he did not know

about the Tower meeting until a year after it happened.

Senators Richard Burr and Mark Warner – who run the Senate Intelligence Committee – issued

a statement saying Cohen stood by his testimony.

"Mr. Cohen had testified before the Committee that he was not aware of the meeting prior

to its disclosure in the press last summer," Burr and Warner declared.

"They responded that he did stand by his testimony," the two Senators concluded.

CNN's History of Fake News CNN trashed its reputation with a string of

fake news stories.

In 2017, CNN reported James Comey would contradict Donald Trump's claim that he told the President

three times he was not under investigation.

Later that year, CNN falsely reported Donald Trump Jr. had received advance notice about

WikiLeaks releasing Democrat emails.

In their interviews with Davis, neither CNN anchor asked him to explain what about their

reporting was incorrect.

CNN spread misinformation and then tried to cover it up.

CNN botched so many Russia stories that Americans can no longer believe anything the network

puts on the air.

You Won't Believe How Close Congress Is To Impeaching Donald Trump - Duration: 12:30.

You Won't Believe How Close Congress Is To Impeaching Donald Trump

Donald Trump dreaded this day.

Robert Mueller and shadowy forces within the government finally scored their biggest victory.

And you will not believe how close Donald Trump is to impeachment.

Donald Trump's Very Bad Day Trump-hating journalists jumped for joy when

news broke that former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to eight counts of criminal

charges.

Cohen admitted to acts of tax evasion, bank fraud, and campaign finance violations.

However, it was his confession to evading campaign finance laws in paying off the women

who claimed to have had affairs with Trump that drew the most attention.

In the plea agreement, Cohen stated he had made the payments "in coordination with

and at the direction of a federal candidate for office"

Experts declare Donald Trump is the candidate Cohen was referring to.

Anti-Trump pundits predicted Congress impeaching Trump was right around the corner.

The Political World Responds The media and Democrats joy was short lived.

Republicans pointed out that Donald Trump was still not implicated in any criminal activity.

Rudy Giuliani noted, "There is no allegation of any wrongdoing against the President in

the government's charges against Mr. Cohen.

It is clear that, as the prosecutor noted, Mr. Cohen's actions reflect a pattern of

lies and dishonesty over a significant period of time."

Former Bush administration National Security Council staffer Mike Doran explained that

the charges against Cohen were minor.

Doran noted that the Obama administration committed the real crimes by conspiring against

Trump during the election.

Doran tweeted:

THE CRIME, IF IT WAS ONE, IS MINOR.

IT PALES IN COMPARISON TO THE CRIMES COMMITTED TO PREVENT TRUMP'S ELECTION & TO ANNUL IT

AFTER THE FACT, THOSE CRIMES THREATEN OUR DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTIONS, & THEIR MAGNITUDE

IS COMPOUNDED BY THE ACTIVE EFFORTS OF THE PRESS TO COVER THEM UP.

Senator Lindsey Graham pointed out that none of the charges prove collusion with Russia.

Graham tweeted:

THE AMERICAN LEGAL SYSTEM IS WORKING ITS WILL IN BOTH THE #PAULMANAFORT AND #MICHAELCOHEN

CASES.

THUS FAR, THERE HAVE YET TO BE ANY CHARGES OR CONVICTIONS FOR COLLUDING WITH THE RUSSIAN

GOVERNMENT BY ANY MEMBER OF THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN IN THE 2016 ELECTION.

Graham's reaction shows that Republicans will stand by the President.

The South Carolina Senator is known as an unreliable Republican who sides with Democrats.

Will Congress Take Action?

Democrats will immediately push for impeaching the President after the election.

However, without the Republicans votes, they have no chance to convict the President.

As a result, Republicans standing by Trump takes removing him from office is off the

table.

But Democrats won't give up on their dream of impeaching Donald Trump.

If Congress refuses to impeach the President, anti-Trump forces will work to drive down

his poll numbers.

Democrats believe if they can convince Americans that Trump is corrupt, they will vote him

out of office in 2020.

The media parroting the narrative that everyone around Trump is a criminal will be the tactic

by the left in the 2020 presidential election.

Trump supporters trust that the voters will see through this hit job and ultimately stand

with the President.

Trump slams social media firms for 'silencing millions' - Duration: 1:15.

U.S. President Donald Trump criticized social media companies on Friday for silencing "millions of people" in what he called an act of censorship

Trump did not mention any of the companies by name. On Tuesday, Facebook Inc, Twitter Inc and Alphabet Inc removed hundreds of accounts tied to an alleged Iranian propaganda operation, while Facebook took down a second campaign it said was linked to Russia

"Social Media Giants are silencing millions of people. Can't do this even if it means we must continue to hear Fake News like CNN, whose ratings have suffered gravely

People have to figure out what is real, and what is not, without censorship!" Trump said

JEFF SESSIONS DROPS NUKE ON TRUMP - Duration: 13:03.

JEFF SESSIONS DROPS NUKE ON TRUMP

Once Trump won, Jeff Sessions made huge promises about cleaning up the swamp…He positioned

himself to be made AG…but for one reason only- so that he could protect the corruption

as Holder and Lynch did!

There is a lot of evidence of corruption yet Jeff Sessions continues to sit back and watch

Mueller hunt down innocent people in the Trump administration.

But, as it looks to me Sessions is way too concerned with appearing non-political.

It's not "political" if you correctly apply the law.

We don't need a nice guy, we need someone who will enforce the law!

Time to man up or leave and the second choice is more realistic!

President Trump blasted Jeff Sessions during an interview with Ainsley Earhardt on FOX

and Friends which aired on Thursday Morning.

President Trump: I put in an Attorney General who never took control of the Justice Department.

And it's sort of an incredible thing.

We have this country going so well…

I wanted to stay un-involved.

Jeff Sessions recused himself and should have told me.

What kind of man is this?

He knows there was no collusion.

AG Sessions is usually silent; it is a very rare move for him to speak out.

"I took control of the Department of Justice the day I was sworn in, which is why we have

had unprecedented success at effectuating the President's agenda," Sessions said

in the statement posted on Twitter by DOJ spox Sarah Isgur Flores.

While I am the Attorney General, the actions of the Justice Department will not be improperly

influenced by political considerations.

I demand the highest standards, and where they are not met, I take action," Sessions

continued.

I think Sessions is in place to protect the Deep State/swamp.

When Sessions sat by in 2009 with the rest of Congress, both parties, he became an official

member of the swamp.

That little failure by Sessions and the rest of Congress allowed an ineligible, identity

fraud con-artist to become the putative president.

That matters because every member of Congress who, without objection, allowed this to happen

violated their sworn oath to protect the Constitution, and they literally gave America's government

and her military to the enemy.

Hillary failed to become the planned after Obama continued to cover and the "birther",

Donald Trump was elected instead…panic among all complicit in the Obama fraud followed.

Sessions got himself the AG job to help prevent the truth about the Obama fraud from ever

being fully revealed and acted on.

He is effective in doing that and nothing else.

Trump calls off Pompeo's Pyongyang trip due to 'insufficient progress' on denuclearization - Duration: 1:59.

In other news...

It appears U.S. diplomacy with North Korea is on hold right now.

President Trump has abruptly called off his Secretary of State's planned visit to Pyongyang,...

citing the regime's lack of progress on denuclearization.

Hwang Hojun reports.

The Twitter bomb dropped just a day after U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced

he was going to visit North Korea next week.

President Trump tweeted on Friday local time that he asked Pompeo not to go to Pyongyang

at this time due to the regime's insufficient progress on the issue of denuclearization.

He also criticized China for hampering the process, in reference of the ongoing tariff

war between Washington and Beijing.

However, President Trump still sent his regards to Kim Jong-un, ending his tweet by saying

he looks forward to seeing him soon.

Pompeo's visit would have been his fourth to North Korea.

The cancellation of Pompeo's trip comes amid rising skepticism on whether the North Korean

leader is serious about his commitment to dismantle the regime's nuclear and missile

programs.

Since the North Korea-U.S. summit in June, Pyongyang has taken visual steps such as demolishing

its only known nuclear test site and its missile engine testing site.

However, experts say they are hard to verify without outside inspection.

Moreover, the International Atomic Energy Agency published a report this week, expressing

its quote "grave concern" over North Korea's continued activities at the Yongbyon nuclear

site.

Some observers are saying this is another tactic by the Trump administration to put

more pressure on North Korea.

In fact, this isn't the first time Trump has scrapped a scheduled meeting with Pyongyang;

he called off his Singapore summit with Kim in May,... before hastily rearranging it.

While South Korea's Blue House is yet to respond to the cancelation, it's likely to put more

pressure on Seoul as President Moon Jae-in is due to head to Pyongyang in September to

hold his third summit with Kim Jong-un.

Trump Just Made History With This Latest Deportation - Duration: 11:09.

Trump Just Made History With This Latest Deportation

President Donald Trump has fought against illegal immigration his entire presidency.

Although he has fixed some of the problems President Obama started, one historic deportation

may be Trump's biggest achievement yet.

President Trump just made history by removing a former Nazi collaborator from the country

—the very last known in America.

The Last of His Kind A Nazi Guard, Jakiw Palij, was sent back to

Germany earlier this week after attempts to remove him from the United States for over

ten years.

U.S. authorities over the years have fought with foreign countries over who was to take

him, as he was born in a part of Poland that is now Ukrainian territory.

He was never a German citizen despite German political ties.

In 2004, all three countries refused to accept him.

And in 2003, he admitted to Department of Justice officials that he trained at a Nazi

camp in German-occupied Poland.

Court documents also revealed that the men who trained there carried out the Nazi regime's

plan to murder Jews in Poland.

Trump Takes a Stand President Trump ordered U.S. Ambassador to

Germany, Richard Grenell, to find a way to get Palij out of the United States.

Before he assumed his position in Berlin in April, Grenell wanted to carry out Trump's

plan.

Grenell fought to remove the criminal from the United States, despite complications — but

with the support of Trump, Grenell was able to do just that.

Trump — who is from New York City — wanted to remove the murderer from his New York City

home, which was finally carried out earlier this week.

Grenell's Plea Grenell pled Palij's case to German authorities,

arguing that the German government had an obligation to take Grenell as he worked for

the German government during World War II as a Nazi.

Grenell supposedly brought up the issue in nearly every meeting he had with German political

leaders.

Grenell said, "The new members of the German cabinet brought a new perspective on this

case.

It was difficult to achieve a successful legal process because this Nazi guard wasn't a

German citizen – but the German government accepted their moral obligation to allow his

deportation,"

Grenell supported President Trump throughout the case.

"It's really a credit to President Trump, who was very clear about this case, (who)

made (it) clear he wanted this individual out of the United States…..it's a great

day for the United States to have this man out of our country."

Grenell also thanked the new German government for working with Trump to make it happen.

Trump Makes History President Trump, along with members of his

administration and the German officials, just made history by removing the Nazi war criminal

from our country.

Will Donald Trump Be Impeached? - Duration: 1:56.

From Russian collusion to the breaking of campaign finance laws

the presidency of Donald Trump has so far been mired in accusations and scandal

It has led to some quarters calling for Trump to be impeached

But just how likely is that?

On the basis of history, not very

No U.S. president has ever been removed from office by impeachment and conviction

and one of the reasons why is because it is extremely difficult to pass

But first, let's explain exactly what impeachment is

a process that allows misconduct charges to be brought against an elected official

It is not a formal removal from office

but it can lead to a vote on whether to remove the elected official

The constitution states that officials can be removed from office

if they are convicted of treason,

bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors

To impeach the president, a majority is first required in the House of Representatives

The issue is then passed to the Senate for a trial

If a two-thirds majority votes against the president, they will be removed from office

The only U.S. presidents to be impeached in history are Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson

who were both acquitted by the Senate

Richard Nixon had impeachment articles brought against him

but he resigned from office before the House voted on them

With Republicans controlling the House of Representatives and the Midterms on the horizon

is unlikely that Donald Trump will be impeached anytime soon

If however, the Democrats regain control of the House in November

then there's a strong chance he will face impeachment

But with continuing Republican support for the President

there is little chance a two thirds majority would be reached against him in the Senate

Whilst Donald Trump could be impeached

having him removed from office is far more unlikely

Donald Trump Just Shut Down Chuck Schumer's Impeachment Scheme - Duration: 12:04.

Donald Trump Just Shut Down Chuck Schumer's Impeachment Scheme

Liberals pounced on the news that Michael Cohen claimed Trump ordered him to violate

campaign finance laws.

So Chuck Schumer and the Democrats are plotting to finally impeach Donald Trump.

But Donald Trump just shut down Schumer and the Democrats scheme.

Michael Cohen's Guilty Plea Raises Impeachment Talk

Trump-lawyer Michael Cohen surrendered to federal authorities and pleaded guilty to

various financial crimes.

But Cohen's confession to campaign finance violations for payments made to women who

claimed they had an affair with Donald Trump attracted the most attention.

Pundits claimed Cohen had implicated the President in a crime.

Anti-Trump journalists speculated impeachment was right around the corner.

Leading Democrats like Nancy Pelosi had to race to try and cover up their true intentions

since Schumer had told the Daily Beast last November it was too soon to discuss impeachment:

"There may be a time.

It is premature.

And to call for [impeachment] now you might blow your shot when it has a better chance

of happening.

It is serious, serious, serious.

And so … you wait," Schumer had stated.

So Pelosi released a statement that never used the word 'impeachment.'

But political experts laugh at the Democrats lies.

Former Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon said the main issue of the midterm election

is impeachment.

"..November is a referendum on impeachment — an up or down vote.

Every Trump supporter needs to get with the program," Bannon declared.

Bannon knows that if Democrats announce their intentions to impeach Trump, Republicans will

turn out in full force come November.

Consequently, Democrats have to cover up their real plans to impeach Trump to prevent a red

wave.

Donald Trump Shuts Down Impeachment Talk Fox and Friends host Ainsley Earhardt interviewed

Trump at the White House where he responded to Cohen's guilty plea for the first time.

The President also took on Cohen's allegation that he ordered Cohen to break the law.

He declared, "Later on I knew.

Later on."

The President also addressed the allegation that the payments violated campaign finance

reporting rules.

"But you have to understand…what he did; they weren't taken out of campaign finance.

That's a big thing.

That's a much bigger thing," Trump explained.

"Did they come out of the campaign?

They didn't come out of the campaign," he continued.

He pointed out, "They came from me…But they didn't come out of campaign."

The President hammered the double standard at work with how the government treated him

and how prosecutors handled Obama's campaign violations.

"It's not even a campaign violation.

If you look at President Obama, he had a massive campaign violation, but they had a different

Attorney General and they viewed it a lot differently," Trump concluded.

In addition, a jury found former Presidential candidate John Edwards not guilty of criminal

charges for exactly the same violations as prosecutors have now charged Cohen.

Edwards used money to pay off a woman he carried on an affair with.

The failed Presidential candidate successfully argued he had made the payments to hide the

affair from his wife.

But the President denies allegations of even having an affair.

However, he could argue that because the allegations would have wounded his wife, he paid the money

to save her the humiliation even though an affair never occurred.

TRUMP DROPS NUKE ON ROBERT MUELLER – IT'S ALL OVER - Duration: 13:20.

TRUMP DROPS NUKE ON ROBERT MUELLER – IT'S ALL OVER

This is big for it erodes the very foundation on which the whole Russia investigation is

built.

The Christopher Steele dossier, paid for by Hillary and Marty Singer before that, was

a key foundational piece of the investigation.

If that document is discredited, especially by someone who has plead guilty and plans

to cooperate, it is a devastating loss.

If that document falls apart it does not bode well for the investigation as a whole.

Remember, Cohen's role in the alleged conspiracy was key, according to the report he was the

guy dealing with the Russians.

Look, Trump is going to have the fight of his life with the Mueller report and I am

just talking about any obstruction case.

So anything that clears him of some of the charges and eliminates the Russia hysteria

is great news as it will help focus the coming political battle over the Mueller report.

As reported by The Daily Caller:

Lanny Davis, the Clinton-connected attorney for Michael Cohen, said Wednesday that the

former Trump lawyer had never been to Prague, as the infamous Steele dossier alleges.

"Thirteen references to Mr. Cohen are false in the dossier, but he has never been to Prague

in his life," Davis said Wednesday in an interview on Bloomberg.

The statement is a significant denial given that, according to Davis, Cohen has turned

over a new leaf by deciding to discuss his work on behalf of President Donald Trump.

Cohen pleaded guilty on Tuesday to tax evasion, bank fraud and campaign finance violations.

He claimed that he acted at the direction of Trump by paying off two women who claimed

they had affairs with the former real estate mogul in 2006.

But Cohen did not address a larger question of whether he was involved in a conspiracy

between the Trump campaign and Russian government, as former British spy Christopher Steele claimed

in the Democrat-funded dossier.

In the 35-page document, Steele claimed that Cohen was a central figure in a "clandestine"

conspiracy of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government.

According to Steele, Cohen and three associates visited Prague in order to meet with Kremlin

officials as part of a conspiracy to pay hackers to obtain dirt on former Secretary of State

Hillary Clinton.

"The agenda comprised questions on how deniable cash payments were to be made to hackers who

had worked in Europe under Kremlin direction against the CLINTON campaign and various contingencies

for covering up these operations and Moscow's secret liaison with the TRUMP team more generally,"

claimed Steele, who was paid by the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee

to investigate Trump.

Cohen, 52, has vehemently denied the dossier's allegations ever since BuzzFeed published

the salacious document on Jan. 10, 2017.

He has denied ever visiting Prague.

In an attempt to prove that, he provided BuzzFeed with his passport, which did not show any

stamps from the Czech Republic.

"By the way, the number of time that falsehood has been repeated — I'm not accusing you

— is the classic example that if you mention something a million times, and you get Google

hits and they're all false, it's zero-zero," Davis said on Bloomberg Wednesday.

LOU DOBBS: Why Democrats should stop pushing to impeach Trump - Duration: 13:56.

the growing chasm between the president and the wayward DOJ comes as more on the

radical left are calling for the president's impeachment an idea the

president's attorney Rudy Giuliani says would not sit well with the American

people I think impeachment would be totally horrible I mean there's no

reason he didn't collude with the Russians

he didn't obstruct justice everything Cohen says has been disproved you'd only

impeach him for political reasons and the American people would revolt against

that joining me now is former NYPD officer and former Secret Service agent

Dan bond Geno welcome to the show thanks for coming on tonight let me ask you

about that first one what do you think about what Rudy Giuliani just said there

Giuliani is right I mean impeachment for what for winning

an election you're supposed to be impeached

according to the Constitution for high crimes and misdemeanors not no crimes

and no misdemeanors the only crime Donald Trump committed was winning an

election I'm using crime and air quotes obviously I mean this is absurd what did

he do wrong there has been no evidence of collusion

the big conspiracy theory on the left by some figures in the media no evidence of

that at all all we've got in our taxicab confessions

and other nonsense stuff that really speaks to things we already knew about

Donald Trump he wasn't dishonest about who he was before he became president

this is an outrageous line that's gonna backfire against the Dems if they

continue with it then one more thing moderate Democrats know this this is not

a mystery some Democrats know this is a loser for them the impeachment line well

I mean if you listen to Michael Cohen or his lawyer Lanny Davis of course you

have the Clinton cleaner here defending the Trump cleaner it all makes me kind

of want to take a shower but beyond that you know he says that he pled to a

federal crime and he implicated the president in that same federal crime

it's straightforward and that's conspiracy yeah well someone should tell

the former FEC Commissioner who actually knows about this stuff who wrote an

op-ed saying the exact opposite he may know a little bit more of

these things then lanny davis he was actually the head of the Federal

Elections Commission and he said there's no way this is a crime matter of fact

it's barely a civil violation what we had here's how you have to a value I ran

for office I'm pretty I'm not a lawyer but I'm pretty familiar with how these

laws work if an expense would have existed with or without the campaign

then it's not necessarily a campaign expense Donald Trump we can't get in his

head we don't know why he paid that money maybe it was because he didn't

want his family to hear about it he wanted some reputation management I'm

not I'm not saying it was a good thing I'm not saying these aren't untoward

I'm not saying Trump wouldn't want to take it back I'm just saying to claim

that's a campaign expense and it's an outrageously claim like Davis did that

this is straightforward slam dunk stuff is nonsense Davis is reaching here at

big time what do you think about the publisher of the National Enquirer now

getting involved we're hearing that he's been granted immunity in order to

cooperate in some part of this case what is the implication of that Melissa there

listen this is I've been saying this forever they're not investigating

collusion here they're investigating Donald Trump there's a difference and

having been a former law enforcement officer this stuff frightens me and it

should frighten everybody else watching today too if you walked into the Secret

Service office where I worked and said hey I want my neighbor investigated for

what I don't know you'll find something you know what you probably would but you

don't do that in a constitutional republic the National Enquirer mr.

pecker there and him all of a sudden being uh you know being given immunity

to testify against Donald Trump you have to ask yourself when is this gonna end

who's next who gets immunity next they're looking for Trump they're not

looking for a crime yeah I mean I've heard some people say that that what

David pecker might have done over at the National Enquirer is fraud because he

bought a story with the idea of burying it but in my mind you don't go to the

National Enquirer because you want your story to get out there and you want your

voice to be heard if that's what you want to do you go to the New York Times

or you go to The Wall Street Journal you go to the Washington Post if you're

going to the National Enquirer you're looking for money in exchange for your

story plain and simple which as I understand it is exactly what these

women got right Melissa this isn't National Review I mean it's the National

Enquirer I are we seriously shutting down the

country for about a year and a half now I mean not exact we're not shutting down

the car but this is unquestionably taking a deep toll on the country's

collective psyche this collusion investigation which is supposedly what's

this about is this what we're up to now Michel Cohen's taxi medallions National

Enquirer stories about about stormy Daniel I mean this is what this is is

this rig we have to ask ourselves at some point is this really worth it this

is what blew up candidly in the Republicans face during the Clinton

years they'd had enough well I'm like okay I don't know if the Democrats have

learned that lesson of other networks have learned that lesson if you look at

CNN and MSNBC they use the word in peach or impeachment 222 times around this

story it's really driving at home my thought is I wonder if this doesn't blow

up in the Democrats face in the sense that it really enthusiastic oh and vote

in the midterms thinking my president is going to be taken away that this person

that we elected you know that Democrats are going to try and impeach him and I

better go out there and vote for Republicans it could end up having the

opposite impact of what they're looking for there your thoughts on that Melissa

I'm reasonably confident that some moderate and reasonable Democrats there

are some left believe it or not it pains me to say it but it's true I'm not gonna

do what they do to us they have to know this is a complete loser what really

gets me is the first part of what you said there that media networks whose

business are this eyeballs right eyeballs they have to see it's a

business it's journalism but it's still a business you have to you have to pay

the bills CNN is losing to cat videos on YouTube their ratings are down by double

digits you would think somebody in a boardroom making editorial decisions

would be like hey guys listen is there really any evidence on this collusion

thing because we're losing two remakes of beachfront property on HGTV at two

o'clock in the morning on a Tuesday I don't know you're testing me there I

love cat video I love Beach shots you're you're attempting me here but no it is

trumped arrangement I mean some people have gotten so insane with the idea of

impeachment that they're just really frothing at the bit but

damn Pacino thank you for your time my friend radical Dems in the Senate

attempting to stonewall president Trump's highly qualified Supreme Court

nominee Brett Kavanaugh over Michael Cohen's guilty plea but Senate Judiciary

Chairman Chuck Grassley is having none of it

that's a very legitimate question but not a legitimate position for them to

take because they didn't raise the same issues when Justice Breyer was appointed

by President Clinton and President Clinton was already had a grand jury

getting documents and papers from him there's precedent to move ahead in a

situation that isn't even similar to what we have now hypocrisy in Washington

never Kavanagh confirming hearings will begin as planned on September 4th

joining me now hermit Dylan attorney and RNC committee woman for California and

Eric Beach great American Alliance co-chairman and Republican strategist

thanks to both of you for joining us I mean I'll start with you what do you

think of the holdup over Cavanaugh I mean they make the case that well look

you know President Trump's gonna have things of personal interest potentially

before the Supreme Court so the idea is he's putting someone in there who's

gonna tip the scales in his favor yeah I think it's a big stretch first of all

that President Trump's gonna have anything of interest before the Supreme

Court he's halfway through his term and stuff doesn't get to the Supreme Court

that quickly so that's number one number two I think this shows the

extreme desperation of the Democrats because from the point of view of

relative you know extremism versus being mainstream a justice Kavanagh is going

to be very mainstream justice and so you know they're not gonna get a better

justice than this out of a Republican president and this is just delay and you

know desperation they can't fight them on the merits so they're fighting him in

this illegitimate manner I think it's unfortunate because Americans deserve a

full supreme court that can hear these cases and make decisions for all of us

and so you know if they had messaging and if they had something substantive to

complain about they would be focusing on that they don't so that's why they're

reverting to this Eric I mean let me ask you the political question because to me

that seems like really dumb politics in the sense that what really energizes

folks on the right get out and vote the Supreme Court is

one of the main things and the closer they take this confirmation to the

midterms and beyond it seems like the more it's gonna get Republicans and

Trump supporters of any stripe out to the polls yeah well as a Republican

consultant I think for the Democrats it's not dumb politics keep at it all

day but here's the reality and I think our meets at best which is the messaging

they don't have a message to run on for the midterms their message has been all

anti-trump but the problem that they have is that the substance behind this

truck presidency has been pretty darn good for middle-class America so I think

what they're trying to do is bring back abortion in some form to run on some

sort of social issue because they're a party in search of the correct message I

don't think it's gonna work it's gonna play it to the Republicans hands yeah

well you know I live in liberal New York City so I'm constantly stopped by people

who are crossing their fingers and praying for impeachment and you know

they say wow it looks like they really got him this time you know it's so close

her meat I'll ask you you know the latest wrinkle that we heard about today

the publisher of the National Enquirer is saying he's going to cooperate over

those two women who traded in their stories for money what does it say to

you about the case they have what are they going after there with him in

particular and what could he possibly say that would be damaging to the

president from a legal point of view I think that what could be found in that

vault it could be embarrassing from a social point of view but legally

problematic I don't see it or even frankly politically it looks again very

desperate to be sort of rummaging through the trash to see what you know

the cat dragged in and gonna put that in the public sphere I mean the fact that

the president you know had private settlements with people who were in his

life is irrelevant in terms of his fitness to be the great president who is

cutting taxes and doing all these other great things for America

so again smacks of desperation and shows a lack of substance on the part of the

Democrats if they had something better in terms of the jobs economy border and

national security they'd be on that they're not Eric you know from a

political point of view when we're talking again about turnout which is

what the midterms tend to be all about you know they say that bringing up this

kind of a story dissuade suburban and women that there are people that are

likely to be closer to more independent or could be dissuaded from voting at all

when you remind them about these kind of issues if you remind them the president

is perhaps not a great husband that it turns off people that might have gone

out and voted to help him out do you think is that as I hear that argument

from Democrats all the time does it hold water well no because they underestimate

women I mean women care about the same thing as men do which is a better

business climate which Trump is doing they care about better jobs which this

administration is also performing on but the reality is again it's overreached by

the Democrats this is not even a campaign finance violation and so the

president as a private citizen was being extorted let's call it what it is and if

you've reached any kind of settlement with them he has a brand the Trump brand

it just so happened to be during the election but his job is to protect that

brand it's a global brand and so that's all they were doing this is something

that happens every day in the course of business life and that's what he did and

I just saw I think again it will not work for the Democrats

Hermey can I ask you real quick and lean on your legal expertise for a second so

if this was a payment that was made by the publisher of the National Enquirer

in order to help with the election and quiet down these stories that's sort of

a gift in kind to a campaign it would be over the limit or it would have been not

disclosed I mean if they characterize it like that does that spell trouble for

the president is that a campaign violation well maybe but there there are

a lot of ifs there and it still doesn't spell legal jeopardy for the president

and you know I think that we have to look at this in the big picture of this

being a unique president somebody who was in business throughout his life and

like Eric said I mean I have reached settlements for clients similar to the

ones that we're talking about here there you know prominent people rich people

successful people are regularly shaking down like this so if this is the

ordinary course of business for mr. Trump which I bet he's

to be able to prove if it comes to that no it is not a campaign finance

violation and that is just again another you know pie-in-the-sky fantasy buy you

know your New York friends you see on the street and what I see here in San

Francisco that's just not the way the law works ya know it's interesting I

mean it depends could become that he's done this a bunch in the past before so

it had nothing to do with the campaign because it was a long before he ever

decided to run for president that would be an interesting defense but it sounds

like it might work Hermey dylan eric beach thanks to both

of you for joining us
