Presidente and new tariffs $15 of Chinese goods to be under those tariffs
the president vowing to slash our nation's multi-billion dollar trade
deficit with China all while protecting the American worker the trade war was
started many years ago by them and the United States lost well no there is no
where they've taken so much so last year 75 billion dollars in trade deficit we
had a 300 with China we had overall over 800 million dollars over a period of
years each year close to 800 billion dollars in losses on trade not gonna
happen anymore it's not gonna happen president Trump the only national leader
on the face of the globe who is calling for balanced international trade it used
to be the stuff of esoteric discussions amongst academics and a few people who
work for non-government organizations joining us now our special guest tonight
Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross at the forefront of the president's trade
policies it's great to see you thank God to see you Lou fifty billion dollars of
goods will be subject to those tariffs effective July 6 yes I do like the end
and the national political process airily the business press but much of
the business press they are cackling there they're wringing their hands
they're wailing about a trade war we just heard the president say and he's by
the way the first person to say it out loud
as some time ago we've already lost the trade war well we're regaining territory
very rapidly these same people had hand-wringing when we put the tariffs on
washing machines they had the same hand wringing when we put the tire of Sun
solar panels they had the same hand wringing when we put it on steel and
aluminum and guess what factories are growing up in the US
making those products the sky hasn't flown it hasn't
fallen in fact the Federal Reserve is projecting for this quarter a growth
economic growth listen to this 4.8% GDP growth for the quarter that's
extraordinary oh it's it's amazing will remember the
Democrats were saying one and a half percent oh yes maybe two percent the new
normal they styled it under a lobbyist of the new miserable bill exactly
exactly so this is mice's exciting stuff because the business press gets to hold
forth on trade wars and retaliation in fact we're talking about a meniscal
percentage of internal trade that will be involved in these services thus far
the trade relationships themselves don't amount to an overwhelming segments of
GDP for most countries no in fact our total exports to tell our own lis about
a hundred fifty billion dollars that's under one percent of our GD p-- we'd
like to Shatner we're going to change it well we're not going to change it are we
to making us look further like an agrarian nation that's a third world
country I mean our leading products soybeans waste material III mean when
you look at what we're exporting you just wonder who is the advanced nation
here is it the United States or is it China it's very much the u.s. because of
the hundred and fifty billion that we export to China about twenty billion is
agricultural products right so but is that soybeans yeah a lot of that is
soybeans but what we're targeting here is high tech we've had an increasing
deficit in high-tech trade with China year after year for many many years now
using materials stolen from the US you know I I can't help but think I am you
have been out front talking to the press explaining is minoo in terrific terms
the president with this great access he has
directly to the American people I was trying to think of any other president
who could have functioned with this explaining what's happening with trade
because it does get located at the margin at least and Americans are not
used to having to deal with it but balancing trade is critically important
most Americans I believe I don't even believe the people in in my craft what
used to be a craft journalism comprehend that trade deficits cut into economic
growth our GDP is reduced as a result of running those trade deficits the
national savings rate is reduced as well uh and that all that relationship and
that importance Gary comb by the way was quoted the other day and one elegant
business outlet a business news outlet he's saying trade deficits don't matter
he's talking the same nonsense of yesteryear that allowed us to trade
mindlessly as the president has put it with dumb government not acknowledging
the truth which is they do matter well trade deficits only don't matter if you
don't have them right we have a trade deficit and it does matter
absolutely and Wilbur Ross is being hard for the President and for the American
people to make sure that we do capture that balanced and reciprocal trade the
president is insisting on a much to the delight of Theresa May angler Merkel the
European Union and of course China well but they've joined us you know the Japan
and the windows in a couple of trilateral statements on this very topic
of intellectual property in techno they ought to and the Chinese to accept oh
that's right they're stealing about six hundred billion dollars worth of
intellectual property a year in addition to that three hundred and fifty billion
dollar deficit and we the Espionage that's being carried out here we won't
even get into very quickly the the NAFTA discussions at at least a pause if not
an end you're probably you're a sense of the prospects well there's a
cause because you have the Mexican elections coming up around the 8th of
July right it's too close to that election from the trot Lopez Obrador
it's got to have well it looks as though he will probably win but whether he wins
or they still need the u.s. they still need to make a deal with this maybe even
here they should be grownups actually take responsibility for their borders
and balance trade wouldn't that be nice well it would be but if they would
mention illegal immigration if they need a little encouragement the president's
gonna give it to them I've noticed him cheering them on as well as his friend
Justin Trudeau it seems like the message is being received and thank you very in
Weber thanks so much for being with us we nice to be on again it's terrific to
have you here thanks so much and thanks for all you're doing
thank you up next RINO Mitch McConnell whoa I think there was just a little
shift in attitude in favor of the president over the malar probe saying
it's time to put an end was that Mitch McConnell what's that we take that up
and more with byron york stay with us we'll be right back
could it be mitch mcconnell has finally grown weary of the Muller witch-hunt the
Senate Majority Leader saying about that probe it ought to wrap up noting it's
been going on forever these are positive words from the Senate Majority Leader
for the first time period McConnell's change of heart comes after months of
public publicly supporting the Muller special counsel he still won't change
the Senate 60 vote rule however as president Trump has requested perhaps he
will come to his senses and do so soon joining us tonight Byron York Washington
Examiner chief political correspondent a fox business contributor great to have
you with us Byron let's start out with first Mitch
McConnell making this statement this could be a very big deal I've been
calling for McConnell and Ryan both to stand with the president
shoulder-to-shoulder and call for an end to this obscene witch hunt one it is a
big deal if both men both leaders in Congress
actually agreed with the President on this I think it might also tell you
something about the Senate investigation that's going on here remember the Senate
Intelligence Committee run is conducting the big Trump Russia investigation it's
supposed to be the bipartisan flagship investigation we've got more and more
word out of that committee that they're not going to find any collusion they're
not going to agree on it they're gonna come to kind of a murky conclusion and
this may be much murky fully know it fully knowing this saying hey let's just
close it up well you know we've known from from Jump Street with the Senate
Intelligence Committee I think Richard Burr has been absolutely irresponsible
he's basically turned over the committee to the vice chair a Mark Warner this is
to me I hope your hope your inference is correct you have a great track record in
that regard it just doesn't make any sense anyone
could keep a secret in Washington DC this long if they had something we'd
know about it if there had been any collusion
we had know about it it's the things that are being covered up by the Dems
the deep state the FBI and the Justice Department that is giving this country
fits because we have such a raging corruption in those that agency and that
department well a lot of the interesting revelations that have come out of this
whole thing have come from the house just committee rise much criticized
chairman Devin's has actually discovered things like who paid for the dossier and
there was a an informant
but of some sort working for the FBI a lot of that interesting information
has come from the the investigation that has been criticized as
partisan and out of control and oh but who's doing the Crimea we got to
remember who the critics are they're certainly not on this broadcast it's
utterly it your aunt who ever that critic was of
Devon Nunez or the House Intelligence Committee you know is led by Adam Schiff
for crying out loud if anyone wants to you know I think thoroughly investigate
his capacity for reason or logic they'd found him significantly
wanting let's turn if we made to the president so what he faces now Ryan
pushing for two bills to come out on both
them craft in is his office with the lights out no
members in attendant other than his closely yeah
held leadership team I mean this is ignorant we're watching history repeat
itself and we're supposed to take seriously what he's producing are you
kidding with take us back to 2006 this isn't even close to Kennedy McCain which
was an abject misery
well failure that messed up and then 2013 there was gang of eight that men
happened I think the more complicated an immigration bill gets the more worried
conservatives have to get and it seems to me maybe that's just a personal
opinion but there's a fairly simple deal to be made
or a daca legalization in exchange for 25 billion
you
tens of thousands of text messages Sidney Powell here to talk about that
straight ahead we'll be right back joining us tonight
Sidney Powell former federal prosecutor and author of license to lie good to
have you with a Sidney and founder and CEO of American majority Ned Ryan net
good to have you here Sidney let me begin with you your
reaction to the Inspector General report and whether or not you think it reveals
such a level of corruption that it should invalidate in point of fact the
special counsels existence it is rife with evidence of corruption and
absolutely venomous sentiments expressed by five or six FBI agents who were key
to the investigation of the President and and the cover-up for Hillary
Clinton's email investigation I mean they were calling him a loathsome human
being and I just showed nothing but disdain and contempt for him to the
point that the Inspector General found more than once that their bias had
infected the investigation and cast a cloud he said over the entire thing and
yet as a former federal prosecutor you must be stunned at the recommendations
which were all of an HR nature and not calling for for example perhaps AI to
slow down the adulterous affairs in the FBI upper echelon not a mention of that
conduct or it's a consequence not a mention of what you know I love the fact
Christopher Rea an ED decided that they would have a little with all of the
agents who we would train them up on bias he said this problem was amongst
the rank and file this is the leading investment senior mayor's and I want to
remind the viewers to Peter struck was not some random field agent he was the
former Deputy Assistant Director of counterintelligence at the FBI and was
heading up the Trump Rush investigation when his lover
Lisa page emailed him and said please tell me that Trump isn't going to be
President right he emailed back and said no we'll stop
him you're not talking about insignificant figures and I think the
thing of those the most damning about that report yesterday is the fact that
it made the team that was looking into the Clinton email server look like
clowns it's also the same team that is involved in the Trump Russia
investigation which again is a bogus witch-hunt
based off false premises rumors innuendoes and a fake dossier so I think
what what the IG report did yesterday even though I didn't think it was what
it should have been it did undercut the credibility and the reputation of those
that were conducting the Trump Russia investigation but I will say this
christopher ray did the FBI no services yesterday because the DOJ and the FBI
are in need of massive reform and this is why Trump happened in 2016 because of
people losing faith and trust in their institutions the reason it happened is
because they were corrupt and they were corrupted at the top Sydney just pointed
out the relationship that had to exist between these acts this misconduct this
corruption and the President of the United States and the administration
that both tolerated it and avoided responding to
Russian intervention which he found to be alarming under the trump presidency
but as indifferent toward Sydney it seemed during his own taking no action
whatsoever against the Russians your reaction to the holiday well among other
things Peter stroke is the agent who prioritized the Russia investigation
over the investigation of the emails on Huma Abedin
laptop that they in September and you know that that was a serious
investigative decision Comey claimed incredibly absolutely incredibly that he
didn't know that Huma Abedin was married to Weiner young he should have been
fired for that alone but one thing you need to know Lou that I'm not sure
anybody else has pointed out is that Christopher Rhea was the supervisor of
Andrew Weissman when Andrew Weissman was at his worst heading up the in Ron task
force and and in this closely a fixed if you will
to both Robert Mahler and rod Rosenstein the doj the conflicts compound
themselves it is great both of you to be here I'm sorry we're out of time we need
to continue this conversation as does indeed the nation as we try to come to
terms with what with what has happened to the FBI and to the Department of
Justice extraordinary it sorted corrupt and indeed in need of quick reform
Sidney Powell Ned Ryan thank you that's it for us have a great weekend good
night
