REPORT President Trump Planning To Sign Order To Keep Gitmo Open

Remember when Obama claimed one of his first acts as president would be to shut down the

prison at Guantanamo Bay?

Yeah, that didn't happen.

And now Trump is planning to sign a new order to make sure it stays open.

Politico reports:

Trump plans to sign order keeping Gitmo open, leaked doc reveals

President Donald Trump is preparing to sign an executive order that would reverse an Obama-era

directive to close the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, according to a draft

document obtained by POLITICO.

Trump is expected to announce plans to sign the order during his State of the Union speech

on Tuesday, or in the days before or after the address, a person familiar with the issue

said.

The executive order, according to a draft State Department cable that officials are

planning to soon send to U.S. embassies around the world, would rescind part of a separate

2009 order signed by then-President Barack Obama mandating that the facility be "closed

as soon as practicable."…

Trump promised during the presidential campaign to keep the Guantanamo Bay detention center

open, saying in February 2016 he wanted to "load it up with bad dudes."

Last year, he said he was considering sending a man who rammed a truck into people in New

York City to the facility.

It is also a rebuke to Trump's predecessor, Obama, who worked for years to close the detention

center, which he warned was a recruitment tool for terrorist groups.

In a sign of his commitment to the issue, Obama signed his executive order on his second

full day as president.

Trump has yet to send any captured terrorist to the controversial detention camp, and the

cable suggests that is not about to change.

"At this time, we are not aware of any plans to bring additional detainees to Guantanamo

Bay," the cable says.

The draft cable instructs U.S. diplomats to begin informing officials from other countries

about the executive order after the State of the Union speech, though embassies in London,

Paris, Berlin and a few other cities can begin filling in foreign governments on Monday "with

the request that they should not discuss the matter publicly until after the address."

The cable includes talking points designed to assuage the concerns of allies likely to

criticize Trump's decision.

The facility is reviled in Europe and beyond as a symbol of U.S. excess in the fight against

terrorists and the use of "enhanced interrogation" techniques that critics equate with torture.

There are evil people in the world who are at war with the United States.

affect the special counsel?

Because the truth of it is, is

it does not.

Andrew Mccabe on Twitter and

repeatedly insulted him and his

President trump has repeatedly

called out rod Rosenstein.

Now this memo, which is -- many

are saying, is basically Devin

nunes's version of events,

supposedly show as Rosenstein in

a bad light.

How do you not see this as a

deliberate purge of everybody

who the president doesn't like

or who could potentially

threaten the president in a

Russian investigation?

Are you supporting -- are you

proposing that Mr. Mccabe

resigned because of Donald

Trump?

Because I think that would be

silly.

For heaven's sakes, the FBI is

independent.

Mr. Trump can't fire him or

hasn't threatened to fire him.

I believe he resigned because of

some of the information

contained in this memo that's

about to come forward.

And I could elaborate on that.

I could tell you some of the

things that we are concerned

about with Mr. Mccabe but he

made his own decision.

He was out by the

president.

The president isn't trying to

force out Mr. Rosenstein.

But you can't take any

organization, particularly a law

enforcement like the FBI, a law

enforcement organization and

say, you know what, they are

beyond reproach.

You cannot question them.

There's only one organization in

the world that's beyond

reproach, and that's the fsb or

the former kgb in Russia.

They're the ones who say, if you

question us, we're going to

arrest you.

The FBI is not like that.

We can't allow the FBI to become

like that.

counterparts and supporters of

Donald Trump that do compare the

FBI to the kgb.

I had somebody on my show the

other day doing that very thing.

Folks on fox are doing that.

They're calling them the secret

police.

What do you say to them in order

to turn down the volume.

The higher a country�s debt to GDP ratio, the less healthy the country�s economy.

With the GDP numbers released yesterday, President Trump�s policies have officially decreased

the Debt to GDP ratio by 1.2% in the President�s first year in office.

In contrast, President Obama increased the US Debt to GDP ratio his first year in office

by 14.5%.

Obama increased the rate a total of 37% over his 8 years in office.

Since his inauguration President Trump has focused his efforts on the security of the

country and on the prosperity of its economy.

The results of his actions are taking shape.

The US GDP has increased each quarter in 2017 with the 4th Quarter GDP increasing to $19.739

trillion � the highest GDP for any country in world history.

On the other hand, the President has curtailed US spending.

The result is that the US Debt to GDP ratio decreased in 2017 from 105% to 104%.

No President in more than 50 years has decreased the Debt to GDP ratio in his first year in

office by more than 1%.

The last President to do so was Nixon in 1969.

Presidents Reagan and George W. Bush decreased the Debt to GDP ratio in their first years

in office but by less than 1%.

President Trump has the stock market at all time highs, jobs at all time highs and the

debt to GDP ratio decreasing.

As a result America is moving in the right direction for the first time in at

least a decade.

Democrats Protest Trump's SOTU, Newt Gingrich Goes On Live TV & Rubs Salt In Their Wounds.

The Democrats have been hard at work protesting President Donald Trump's State of the Union

address this week, even though he has yet to deliver his remarks.

It would seem odd to be so against a speech which you haven't heard, but no one ever

accused a liberal of having much common sense.

As those on the left continued to whine about the president's upcoming address, former

House Speaker Newt Gingrich went on live television just to rub salt in their wounds.

While some Democrats in Congress have done their best to turn this year's SOTU into

a political charade by planning to fill the balcony with so-called "Dreamers," other

representatives have refused to attend the annual speech altogether.

Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson, for example, said on Monday that she would not be "honoring"

President Trump with her presence.

I'm sure he doesn't mind, as there isn't much honor in her presence, to begin with.

Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson won't be attending President Trump's first State

of the Union address Tuesday because she doesn't think he deserves to be honored.

"To go would be to honor the president and I don't think he deserves to be honored

at this time, after being so hateful towards black people and then black countries,"

she told CNN on Monday.

Indeed, everyone seems to be finding their own "creative" way to stick it to the

president, nevermind the fact that he couldn't care less about their petty political stunts,

as he's got more important things to worry about, like terrorism and North Korea and

free trade.

In the midst of all this political fodder, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich doubled

down on his faith in President Donald Trump and mocked Hillary Clinton for appearing in

a comedy sketch at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.

"[Trump's] not going to give up putting America first," Gingrich said Monday on

Fox & Friends.

"He's not going to give up fighting for small business, fighting for deregulation,

fighting for lower taxes.

But I think he has learned over the last year," he continued.

"He's had a year now to be president," added Gingrich.

"He's clearly learned a lot of lessons.

There's no reason for him to know coming into office, the differences between a billionaire

in business and being the President of the United States.

I always said he is a very smart guy.

He didn't get to be that wealthy by being stupid.

He didn't beat 16 Republicans in the primaries by being stupid."

Then, just to twist the knife, Gingrich took a brilliant shot at Hillary Clinton and all

of her cronies.

"Just think about this weekend, Hillary Clinton on TV sadly reading out of a weird

book, while Donald Trump is preparing a state of the union," he said.

"That's not a world anybody on the left thought was possible.

And so, I think he can afford to be generous and say, let's find a way to work together."

Newt Gingrich was referring, of course, to the cameo appearance Hillary Clinton made

at the Grammys over the weekend.

Hillary Clinton made a cameo appearance at the Grammy Awards in a Trump-trashing skit.

Far left artists took turns trolling President Trump while

reading highlights from Michael Wolff's discredited "Fire and Fury" novel on

the Trump White House.

I wonder what Hillary Clinton will be doing as President Donald Trump addresses the nation

which he has greatly improved over the past year.

Getting drunk?

Crying on Huma Abedin's shoulder?

Perhaps both.

Any way you slice it, the situation is pretty darn tragic for her, but she deserves every

bit of it.
